Your Ahsoka & Mandos AU just made me tear up pls ARE YOU PLANNING TO WRITE THAT ???????
That plus clones being jealous and not even bothering to hide that because Ahsoka was THEIRS first would be absolute peak
Umm, I could write some if you guys are interested. It would be more like a series of isolated one shots than a real series though. Since it kinda contradicts ASOI and it isn't cannon to SH.
But first some context would probably be good i think.
This "AU" takes place after Ahsoka leaves the Jedi. As we know canonically that she stays with Bo and her Mandalorian faction for an indeterminate amount of time after the disaster on Oba Diah. At the time of spilling those thoughts onto a text post I was just wrapped up in question marks about exactly what that environment would have been like for Ahsoka.
Ahsoka who just left the GAR and is feeling all kinds of guilt for not being there with her men, watching their backs like she's "supposed to". (it is my personal extrapolation that Ahsoka would have been moved from the 501st if she had returned to the jedi anyways. Bc knights and masters have never lead the same faction. The graduated knight has always been moved to their own faction to lead. And I think part of the reason Ahsoka left the jedi was bc she didn't want to return to the war without Anakin and Rex.)
But it took her like maybe a handful of weeks to end up on another war front with another set of soldiers. And yeah they aren't hers and she's not leading them but it feels like a betrayal anyways. If she's still gonna be fighting a war, it should be with her brothers. So Ahsoka does what she always does, tries to make herself useful and block out the guilt with work.
She's in a mandalorian camp now. One with a wide range of smaller clans in it as they are preparing to take back the planet of Mandalore. She's interacting with Mandalorian elders (And Ahsoka has always been good with elders. From the jedi council to the elders on her home planet to members of the senate, elders love Ahsoka). They Enjoy her Youthful energy and her manners. The fact that she brews excellent tea and is hard working and smart. She's interacting with younglings as well. Something else she's experienced with as a former leader of her own creche clan. She isn't afraid to pick up a crying kid, dust them off and tell them to walk it off. But she's also gentle and really good at deciphering baby talk. She tells fun stories for them around the camp fire and makes their toys float to entertain them.
And when actual combat happens, she's great in a fight. She can understand hand signals and follow orders, but she can also take on a battalion of droid alone without breaking a sweat. She has never been bested in a spar. And though her blaster skills leave much to be desired she can wield most bladed weapons like an assassin.
It's not all sunshine and rainbows. A lot of Mandos just aren't going to be happy about having an ex jedi in their camp. BUT it has been a long time since the jedi and mando were actively in conflict. And Ahsoka willingly leaving the jedi actually gives her a lot of credit in their eyes. That and the fact that she has obviously began mandalorian training (of some sort). She is totally eligible to be taken into a clan. Now in what way is the real debate.
Because Ahsoka is in that awkward young adult stage where she's mostly too old to be taken on as a foundling and she mostly too young to get married.
She shows every single Mandalorian virtue. Respect for the religion, Good child rearing skills, Good combat skills, The ability and willingness to hunt large game, An anti-individualistic community focused mindset, A lust for life and freedom, heart bleeding loyalty, weapons proficiency, and most importantly, honor. And there's the little detail that she's working with the top ranking clans as an advisor and hand for hire. A weird not rank that is none the less very admirable.
When I say every mando expects Ahsoka to join a clan. I mean every one of them. The elders are asking to train her and finding it hard to find some area of training that she isn't proficient in (not everyone can teach her to shoot). Meanwhile she is blissfully unaware that this is the first step to being adopted.
The youngest adults, the ones in her age group, are either trying to finish their training and graduate so that they may be free to start courting, or they're saying fuck it, ima court the highly powerful ex-jedi anyways. Bc can you even imagine what an asset she'd be to any clan? The Mandos have a weird relationship with force sensitivity since they're never trained to use it, but damn can it be an asset in battle. Can you imagine how strong her children would be? it's like a mandos wet dream.
Huge super powerful riduur move things with mind, fight with cool weapons, make clan strong.
Ahsoka is only minimally knowledgeable on Mando culture and the courting goes right over her head. They want to spar with her *shrug* ok. They want to share her meals? cool she'll hunt fresh meat for diner. They want to gift her weaponry? She's kinda picky actually she's on the look out for some specific pieces, but if you hear anything about weapons traders, let her know. They want to teach her Mando'a? okay she's just been using flashcards for a while, don't make fun of her pronunciation though.
And that's when they're just chilling in camp and not when active combat is happening.
Ahsoka dropping an enemy Mandalorian in five seconds flat.
Ahsoka finishing kills with her teeth
Ahsoka jumping fifteen feet vertically
Ahsoka free falling out of ships without a jetpack
Ahsoka sensing danger with pinpoint accuracy
Ahsoka speaking to giant animals
Ahsoka using the force to snatch a knife off your belt to kill an enemy with.
Ahsoka lifting an angry mando in the air and refusing to put them down until they calm down
Ahsoka who can disarm an enemy without touching them
Ahsoka who can snatch you out of the line of fire
Ahsoka who can take a stun bolt to the chest and keep walking
With teeth like knives and claws like daggers
and gentle hands and a soft voice
Now, the context that you really wanted. Which is bringing the clones into this.
That would require stretching out the siege on Mandalore which I am totally game to do. Lets wedge this into a O66 didn't happen Au. Lets put the 332nd in a camp of Mandos for weeks (not unlike on Onderon when they were training the rebels).
Rex and Jesse and Kix reunited with their Commander. Ahsoka blooming under the company of her brothers. Ahsoka running to greet them and getting pulled into a keldabe immediately. Ahsoka responding to her rank and leading men like it's as easy as breathing. Ahsoka who apparently already has a clan and wears their colors with pride. Ahsoka who is given back her lightsabers and becomes an absolute beast in the battlefield like nothing they've ever seen.
The clones who know just enough about mando culture to see the flock of gangly late teens that follow Ahsoka around and bring her food and beg her to spar and go all stiff whenever she touched them. Clones that go "excuse me, that is my vod'ika. Back off"
Rex who wears a permanent scowl. Kix who feels sorry for the poor kids throwing themselves at Ahsoka just to get brushed off absentmindedly. Jesse who is laughing his ass off at the jealousy radiating out of them.
Ahsoka who is even more mando like than they thought as soon as her brothers are around. Who breaths loyalty like its air, who speaks broken bastard mando'a like its a real language. Who spars with no less than 15 clones and usually comes out on top. Who hunts with her favorite brothers with nothing but her bare hands and comes back triumphant. Who gives orders like a clan leader and takes them like a soldier. Who Is referred to by rank with so much affection that you can taste it.
Ahsoka curling up in a pile of men in armor and sleeping around a fire, more at peace then anyone in this camp has seen her before.
And brothers who are so fond of her that they'd cut their own hearts out if she asked. But are more than willing to deliver yours to her instead if you don't back the fuck off. She belongs to our clan. I will best you in ritual combat about it.
Seething side eyes. Arms always around her shoulders. Plastoid flanking her at all times. The days of Ahsoka being alone are over. You'll never pry her out of their hands again.

Din Djarin and the Child making their way on Arvala-7. From The Mandalorian, Season 1, Episode 2, The Child. Concept art by John Park. Image from STARWARS.Com
Grogu Makes a Friend Part 2/Do as you choose…
Din Djarin still didn’t like it. But he went with her. Grogu had wiggled out of his grip and was chatting with the little astro-mech. He watched them both make their way up the ramp while they kept up a stream of chit-chat.
“HK, patrol mode, non-lethal contact only.”
“Is that wise?” He asked her as they slowly ascended the ramp.
“Wise? Maybe not. Necessary? Absolutely.”
She helped him into the main lounge area as the ramp closed. He didn’t notice her activate any controls to close the ramp.
“Are you a Jedi?”
He asked as he took a seat. Grogu was still chatting with the astro-mech.
She grinned at him and shook her head.
“No. I am not a Jetii. Nor am I Sith. I am a member of the Brethren of Tzura. I am aware that such a designation means nothing to you. That is our Way.”
He watched her walk over to a panel, push a control and a door was released. She disappeared behind the door and returned a few minutes later, looking different. The over robes were gone as were her weapons and her boots. Her feet were bare and he could see that she had tattoos or scars on them that seemed to match the ones on her face and hands. He couldn’t imagine what had made them or how painful they must have been.
As if she had heard his thoughts, she turned to him with a resigned look on her face.
“I know. They give people so many questions and I have no answers about them. I have always had them. I do not know if they hurt when I acquired them. I expect they did if my other scars are anything to go by. Let’s hope that you will have better fortune in that regard, than I have had, Din Djarin.”
She walked over to him and knelt down to examine the wound on his knee.
“I’ll be fine if you just spray some bacta on it. How do you know my name?”
He asked as she placed her hands very gently on the burned and torn skin.
“I have known your name for many years, Mandalorian. I have spent a good deal of time traveling in and around Mandalorian space, including to Concordia and Ordo and Krownest. If one deals with bounty hunters you are certainly going to hear about Mandalorian bounty hunters. Plus Ahsoka Tano told me. Now, take a deep breath.”
Her voice was calm and almost hypnotic. He did as she said and took a deep breath.
“Release it slowly. Good. Just like that. Excellent. How does your knee feel?”
She said as she sat on the deck of the ship. She was grinning and Grogu rushed over to her and coo’d something that Djarin didn’t quite understand.
He flexed his knee and then prodded the muscles around it and looked at the skin and sighed. She had healed him. Like Grogu had healed him more than once. She was a Jetii.
“No. Still not a Jetii. I am Brethren. I work with the Force. In some ways that are similar to what Grogu does and in others he has not yet learned.”
“You are reading my thoughts.”
He didn’t like that.
“You are thinking very loudly. I will try to ignore you then. That is not easy for me to do. Now, please, excuse me.”
She got to her feet and he noticed that she seemed very tired suddenly. She walked across the lounge area and began to review the contents of the preserver.
“Grogu?”
Grogu turned to face him. It was clear that his foundling found their benefactor fascinating.
“Tell me what you know about her.”
The Mandalorian nodded toward Ta’lan Bet.
Grogu grumbled and chirped. He was clearly annoyed with his father.
“I don’t like not knowing who I am dealing with. I appreciate that you and Ahsoka both know her, even if you know her under different names, but I don’t know her and that’s what matters right now.”
He watched Ta’lan Bet return with some food on a tray. She set it down on the table next to him and excused herself and sat at the engineer’s station a few meters away.
He watched her bring up some data sets and begin reviewing them.
“Excuse me. Now that my knee is better, I think Grogu and I should be on our way.”
Djarin called out to her. He had made a decision that he thought was for the best.
“As you wish, Mandalorian. I am not here to divert you or harm you or even get to know you.  I promised Ahsoka that I would keep an eye on the two of you while you were here, on Takodana. If you choose to leave, I suggest you go to Corellia. That’s where your ship has been taken.”
“How do you know that?”
He was shocked. Did she have something to do with stealing it? Who else could have known that information so quickly?
“I have just checked the landing zone data systems. The thieves who took it work out of Coronet City. I am familiar with them. I have friends in Coronet City who will assist in your recovery of the ship as soon as they land.”
The Mandalorian stared at her and tried to understand what it was about her that he didn’t like. She had been more than helpful to him and Grogu. Yet, he still felt like she was hiding something from him and if he left he’d never find out what that was. Did he need to though?
Grogu growled at him and he broke from his thoughts to see what his foundling was on about. Grogu seemed quiet annoyed with him and was frowning.
“Grogu, I am just thinking about what is best for you.”
Grogu growled and chirped again.
“Little one, it’s fine. Your father does not trust me and I can’t change that with a wave of my hand. There are many things that neither of you know about me.”
The Mandalorian considered that. Wouldn’t someone who was trying to trick him argue that they were just what they seemed? She hadn’t worried about helping them. He was sure there were many things that she didn’t know about them. There had to be.
It was clear she was going to say something more and then stopped when the communication’s system pinged that a message was now awaiting her. He saw her hesitate and then she initiated the message. It was from Ahsoka Tano.
“Mira tell the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, to meet me on Jakku. We need his help. Also, tell Grogu I miss him. Tano out.”
“Dank Farrik. How are we going to get to Jakku? No one does a regular run there.”
Grogu coo’d and chirped and sighed at his father.
“Who is Mira Ost?”
The Mandalorian asked the woman sitting at the engineering station.
“A spy for the New Republic and for the Rebel Alliance before it. That is who Ahsoka knows.”
“You are a spy?”
He didn’t believe her. It seemed absurd.
“Mira is. She has a certain affinity for information systems. She is also good at hiding in plain sight, among other things. But for Grogu’s sake and yours, I am Ta’lan Bet. That is the name my parents call me. I have survived having Mira as an alias because people do not want to believe the truth.”
“Do you have any other names I should know about?”
The Mandalorian couldn’t believe that he was actually asking her that. It seemed far fetched as it was, despite the fact that he had seen how she had taken care of the battle droids and healing his knee.
“Yes. In Mandalorian space I am known as Muun Bajir and yes, I know what the name means in Mando’a.”
“You speak Mando’a?”
He asked, both irritated and fascinated.
“Yes. Among other languages. Ask me any questions you want. I may not answer them all but I will explain why I cannot.”
“Have you ever met Grogu before today?”
“No. I have not. None of us are Jetii.”
“How long have you known Ahsoka Tano?”
“More than ten years. I cannot tell you the conditions under which we met as it is still considered an official secret of the New Republic.”
“Does she know Ta’lan Bet?”
“No. Nor has she met Muun.”
“Why are you willing to help her?”
“Because I owe her a life. She saved my father from a very bad situation that I could not attend to soon enough.”
To his eye, Ta’lan Bet seemed resigned to those facts, but she definitely didn’t like them.
“She saved your father without knowing he’s your father?”
The Mandalorian just didn’t believe she was telling him the truth.
“I didn’t know he was my father for the first twenty years of my life and am in no position to comment on why she made the choice she made. I am simply grateful for it.”
Ah. A deep sigh had ended that statement. There was truth in there, somewhere.
“Why are you willing to help us? I didn’t save your father.”
Djarin asked, despite Grogu taking the opportunity to pinch him.
“Because I know how precious Grogu is and how precious you are to him. And I agreed to do whatever it took to protect you both when Ahsoka Tano asked me to look out for you.”
Grogu began to chirp and growl at him again and then his son sighed and walked over to Ta’lan Bet and hugged her legs.
“Grogu, your father is right. I am not always who I seem to be. He cares deeply for you. We are safe right now, so this is the best time to question me. I promise you I am not offended in any way.”
Her voice was soft and again he felt like he had met her before.
“How would you make this choice, not a Jetii?”
Djarin asked, wondering what she would tell him.
“I would tell you that if you trust Ahsoka Tano, then trust her. If you do not, then do not. I cannot help you make this choice. It is for you alone to make. Excuse me.”
She stood up, activated the ramp so he and Grogu could leave if they wanted to and then walked over to the preserver and pulled out a container of something and drank right from it.
Grogu complained at him more but he was actually considering her words. He’d seen the comm from Ahsoka. It seemed real.
“May I send Ahsoka message?”
“As you wish. Do you know how?”
“Yes.”
“Very well. Do as you choose Mandalorian.”

🌌✧ PΛDΛWΛПS' SNΛCK PΛCKΞR ✧🌌
— ❝ᴍɪssɪᴏɴ ʟᴏɢ n°1: ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ғʀᴏᴍ ʙᴀsᴇ ❞ —
📆 Date: 0502.25 (GSY) 📍 Location: Somewhere between Clone barracks and the Ghost crew’s emotional baggage
Hey Peeps! 🎉
So, uh, first edition of this official log (read: update), I guess? (if there’s any official-ness left in this galaxy, I don’t know anymore) But heeeyyy, I’m here, a real live person behind this account, typing words and getting too into the Star Wars universe!!!
First, major shoutout to everyone who’s been following along because I just hit +80 followers! 🎉💖 I see you, and I’m genuinely flattered you want to hear my chaos!!!💌
Little personal update: I’m deep into a rewatch of Ahsoka (yes, again, I have no self-control) because I’m putting together a full-blown essay on Sabine’s grief representation in the series and, of course, a Sabine/Ezra analysis from both their POVs (Aka "Lover boy is just as down bad as she is" and "Sabine Wren aka' 'how to giftwrap the fate of the galaxy to your enemy to get your boyfriend back (as you should btw)'".
It’s a lot, but it's gonna be good. If I start rambling about their trauma and emotional baggage, just know it’s part of the process!!
So here are the updates from the field, a.k.a. my brain which is currently 83% clone chaos, 10% Sabezra angst, and 7% caf and stubbornness.
Secondly: the clone requests. There are four of them in progress right now and let me tell you—they're like babysitting four feral emotional support war veterans who each think they know best. As I finish them, I’ll be posting them to AO3 as a single work, with each request slotted in as a chapter. Same for the already posted ficlets besties!!! (Unless, of course, one of them decides to expand into a multi-chapter dramatic arc, in which case I will pretend I have control over my life and continue writing anyway.)
Meanwhile, the Sabezra post-Ahsoka one-shot that was supposed to be a sweet little emotional knife to the ribs has casually evolved into a ficlet. It's not massive—don’t panic—but it’s definitely longer than planned because apparently Sabine and Ezra had Things To Say™ and refused to shut up about it. Also they're being soft and he's being unhinged and making her laugh and MY GIRL DESERVES THAT SO YOU KNOW WHAT- Expect angst, accidental tenderness, and at least one line that made me go “oh noooo”, puns and maybe one (1) song about a womp rat lady. It’s that kind of vibe.
Also—and I say this with full awareness that this is my Roman Empire—I’m once again thinking about Mandalorian clans because I, a humble goblin with both daddy issues AND mommy issues, find deep comfort in a culture where love is expressed through teaching you how to stab someone correctly and handing you armor plates like they’re affection. I’m obsessed. I would absolutely love to dust off my old Mando OCs (yes, they all have tragic backstories, yes, I’m fine, stop looking at me like that) or even create new ones for fics or inspo for peeps.
The urge to build a whole found family of emotionally repressed warriors who show care via knife training and shared trauma is simply too strong.
If I start posting about “Clan Unnecessary Emotional Baggage” featuring a foundling who’s never been hugged and a riduur who communicates exclusively in sighs and forehead touches—just know it’s a cry for help, but make it worldbuilding.
✨ Anyway, back to schedule! 🫡📋 Thank you so so much for all the love on the posts, headcanons, metas, and general chaos!!!💖 Y’all are the best, and I’m sending snacks (emotional and actual) to everyone 🧃🍪💫
(Oh and also!! 👀 Just so you know—I do have things planned for May the Fourth 👽✨ (yes, it is currently May 2nd, yes, I am making intense eye contact with the calendar, yes, I am operating entirely on ✨vibes and panic✨). Expect something fun, mildly unhinged, and definitely made with love (and probably at 2am). The Force is strong with my procrastination but SO IS THE CONTENT, OKAY.)

I have just realized that this series of events has unintentionally made Bo-Katan the funniest person in this galaxy (at this time).
We know in Mandalorian S2 that Bo-Katan knows Ahsoka's locations, and further, what sounds like her plans. This implies to the audience that she's in general contact with Ahsoka, and given their good terms at the end of TCW it seems like Bo-Katan and her may genuinely be on good terms.
We also know from Rebels that Bo-Katan is well aware of Sabine, and further, got the Darksaber from Sabine. So obviously, (in my head at least,) it's more likely than not if Ahsoka started to train Sabine that Bo-Katan would hear about it, as it sounds like they were all quite involved in the Rebellion and its aftermath.
Except the situation in Mando S2 was Din showing up with puppy dog eyes under his bucket like "please im looking for a jedi master for my foundling do you know where one is?"
So. EITHER.
a) Bo-Katan knows that Ahsoka stopped training Sabine, (in Sabine's words, she walked away from Sabine.) after what sounds like a hot mess wrt the Night of 1000 Tears, the death of Clan Wren, no leads on where Thrawn or Ezra are, its all a wash... and she sees this man and his Yoda looking baby and goes..."ooh you know what"
just sends her a Jedi baby like. You want a baby Jedi and not a Mandalorian, oh well see, I got you a baby Jedi right here for you. Wrapped up in a completely DIFFERENT Mandalorian Problem. So uh. What about that student of yours. Ahsoka. What's going on there. Buddy?
OR
b) Bo-Katan is completely in the dark about the apprenticeship going awry bc of how busy she's been with trying to take on Gideon, (which is why she didn't reach out to Sabine and have her there w/ her to kill the man who murdered her Family) and just set Ahsoka up on this blind playdate with a baby Jedi and his Mandalorian dad bc, well, "You train Mandalorians don't you? Well, why not have another!" and this was just how she ended up Finding Out that actually Ahsoka's no longer taking apprenticeships at this time.

username FIC game
Heya, @bluemaskedkarma I see your "choose a song for each letter of your name" and raise you "choose a FIC for each letter of your name." It's still a "get to know me" thing, but with the bonus of boosting other fic writers. SO!
S- Stonebrook by @sl-walker (Bail saves a young Maul from prison and takes him home to Alderaan. Lots of depth to this one. Doesn't shy away from things, though later fics in the series can be funny too.)
H- The House Built on Fresh Snow by @tiend (Jango/Shmi, AU where Shmi is an engineering slave on a ship where Jango is added to the ranks. Neither could predict what happened next. It's interesting to see these two thrown together and how they complement each other.)
A- After the Storm by SpaceWall (post-war AU, everyone is struggling to move on after the war. Cody joins an agricorp mission to Mandalore and tries to cope with putting his General in a coma. Heavy stuff at times, lots of angst, but there's a hopeful ending.)
D- Dawnbreak Accord by AugustArchon (Din/Leia, Leia defends one of the Mandalorian delegates and amid paperwork and political headaches, an unexpected kinship develops. These two really click, and it's wonderful to watch it develop.)
O- Out with Lanterns by Skyebean (AU where Mace is Ahsoka's Master, how that changes things... and what it doesn't. Some fun things, some serious things, and of course O66 still happens. This time Ahsoka is in the middle of it.)
W- Why Not's and How To's by @trixree (unadulterated crack AU where Obi-Wan is a lawyer who sets his sights on emancipating the GAR. Not yet complete. SO much silliness. But also, y'know, someone fighting for Clone Rights, which is always good to see.)
M- Mand'alor Cabur by @nautilicious (slow-burn Bobadin featuring lots of foundlings, growing a family, growing a community, and growing a brain to recognize the clues. Not yet complete. Din is an absolute idiot, but luckily Boba is incredibly, incredibly patient and forgiving.)
A- All Is as the Force Wills It by felurian (Rogue One escapes Scarif by the skin of their teeth and begin the long road to recovery. Distrust and uncertainty lengthen the road, but hope remains. Some good Chirrut/Baze stuff and Bodhi angst. "Everybody lives" doesn't mean things are magically all better.)
A- and your people shall never be destroyed by @bitebackbaby (Palpatine dies. The entire Corrie Guard has disappeared. Cody and some of the other Commanders investigate. One-shot. Cliffhanger. Heavy on the Corrie whump and Commanders guilt. I'm intrigued by the possibilities left out in the open.)
T- The 212th Attack Battalion's Guide to Staging Rescues by antigrav_vector and @quarra (de-aged clones and Obi-Wan get flung into the past to Korda VI and Jaster Mereel's camp. Chaos and mass adoptions ensue. Lots of humor, lots of competence. Gosh dang did I love watching the mini-clones (and Obi-Wan) running around and being amazing.)
This shit's trickier than you think, but anyone who wants to give it a go, consider yourselves tagged!

Thought: Bo-Katan must surely have known that Ahsoka had, at least at one time, been training Sabine Wren as her apprentice, right?Like, Sabine being Ahsoka’s apprentice doesn’t appear to have been kept a secret, and seems to be reasonably well known in those circles that care, and Bo-Katan is definitely one of those circles that cares, seeing as she seems to have kept track of Ahsoka even to knowing her location with accuracy. And especially with Sabine being the daughter of Bo-Katan’s long time friend Ursa Wren, you can’t tell me Bo wasn’t at least aware - like maybe she doesn’t know that they went their separate ways or any details but like. She had to have known that she was sending Mandalorian Din Djarin and his Jedi foundling to the one Jedi who not only has a deep working understanding of Mandalorians but herself has a Mandalorian padawan

I want more gremlin Grogu...
I want some more Gremlin interacting with the dark side Grogu tbh, I want Din to get hurt and Grogu just losing it, and yes it has to be better written than it was in the finale of S3.
I want Grogu with flashbacks of his past looking at his father in danger and just going all in, throwing and chocking people around, levitating and crushing things, and healing wounds. Throwing himself at his father once everything is over, clutching his cape and babbling incontrolably.
I want Din at a loss, worried and scared (also mad at himself for putting Grogu through pain again), and seeking advice either from Ahsoka or preferably Luke.
Luke tells him about his test and Grogu’s choice, Din is surprised (and a bit angry) but Luke explains he could feel Grogu’s love for his father, and denying him the chance to live his childhood as a son would only refuel his past trauma... and leave him more susceptible to the dark side (yes he explains what the dark side is, Din wants to groan at how now there are evil wizards he needs to worry about). “I might be a jedi who grew up with no parents but at least had the love of my uncle and aunt, Grogu feels happy and safe with you, it’s only natural he wants to protect that”.
Din’s head spinning cuz Grogu is having dark tendencies bc of him but he’ll go fully dark if he’s not with him, can’t win with this force bs. Parenting is hard.
Luke’s words do nothing to ease his worries, and he is annoyed at how the jedi doesn’t seem worried. Luke smiles and tells him to trust Grogu “he chose to be a Mandalorian and I’m not surprised. The jedi order fell because they couldn’t deal with a hurt individual’s attachment, so call me crazy but I think the force is guiding us in finding a new answer”.
Din not commenting on the “us”. And wishing space wizards weren’t so vague in their words, oh and wouldn’t it be nice if they didn’t leave their fate to a thing that helps them lift rocks?, but Luke is right in saying Grogu will become a Mandalorian.
I want Din deciding to trust Grogu.
And after some more incidents, Din understanding Grogu’s feelings are no different from his own when he was a scared foundling wanting nothing but to protect his new Mandalorian family.
Din realizing he will not be able to stay long in Grogu’s life...and how the child is actually very aware of that. Grogu doesn’t want their short time together to be cut even shorter. So Din stops treating Grogu’s fears and anger as something bad or dangerous. Instead he starts explaining Mandalorian’s love for family and their defiance of death. How death is never the end for them, how they’ll meet again one day in the Manda. And how he’ll stay with him always through the beskar they share.
I want Grogu learning to let go thanks to Mandalorian culture, he stays a lil gremlin who fiercely protects his father, but the dark side stays away.
I want the force shining and thriving bc of Din and Grogu.

I don't remember much of this episode, so I'm just kinda going off of my memory 😓 Sorry for any inaccuracies!
Mando  followed the droid, Elaine by his side. He was looking for Grogu and the droid was leading them there. Mando would be lying if he said he wasn't excited, but Elaine was practically bursting at the seams with joy. She hadn't stopped smiling since he told her they were visiting the little guy.
She bounced with each step, along with the Mythosaur pendant he had given her. She had tied it to the tip of one of her horns, opting that it "wouldn't hit her in the face" when she did things.
The R2 droid led them to an open area, lush and green. "Is this where they are?" Mando asked.
But instead of beeping his answer, the astromech locked in place and stopped moving. "Hey. Droid." Mando said. "Hey. Don't shut off. Wake up." But it didn't.
Mando looked and saw another droid working. "Hey, I'm looking for Skywalker." He said. "He had a kid with him."
The droid simply pointed to a wooden slab standing next to him. "Is that a bench?" Mando was at a loss for what was happening. He let out a sigh. "How long will I be waiting? Is anyone here? Anyone alive?"
Mando realized that no one was going to answer him. Resigning, he sat down on the bench. Elaine looked up at him in confusion. "What just happened?"
"I...don't know." Was all Mando said.
It wasn't long before the two realized it would be a long while before anyone would talk to them. Elaine busied herself by playing with blades of grass. She pulled them and twisted them, occasionally adding sticks and pebbles to her collection.
Mando layed down on the bench, staring up at the sky. Drowsiness began to overcome him and eventually, sleep.
                            ~~~~~
"Papi, wake up." Elaine said softly.
Mando sat up instantly, eyes darting around. They finally landed on a grey clad figure leaning against a tree. Ahsoka Tano.
"You." Mando said as he relaxed. "I didn't expect to see you here."
Ahsoka smiled. "I'm an old friend of the family."
"I thought you weren't going to help train Grogu." Mando said.
The Togruta stepped away from the tree. "I'm not. Master Luke is."
Mando cocked his head to the side. "Then what are you doing here?"
"That's my question for you." Ahsoka said.
Elaine smiled. "We're here to see Grogu."
Ahsoka nodded, a small smile on her face at the sight of the girl. "That's why R2 brought you to me instead."
Mando stood. "What is this place?"
The Jedi looked over to the house being built. "There's nothing now, but will someday be a great school. Grogu will be it's first student."
"I'd like to know how he's doing." Mando said.
"He's doing fine."
"I wanna see him." Mando truly did.
Elaine's smile faded. She sensed a sudden shift in the mood. Her Empathy was stronger when she was in the presence of a Jedi.
Ahsoka let out a sigh. "I know you do. Let's take a walk." She walked into the woods, Mando and Elaine close behind. "I warned you when we met that your attachment to Grogu would be difficult to let go of."
"He was a Mandalorian foundling in my care." Mando explained. "I just wanna make sure he's safe."
"There is no place in the galaxy more safe than here with Luke." Ahsoka countered.
"I don't understand why you're all right with Skywalker's decision to train the kid when you wouldn't." Mando grumbled.
A sharp breath escaped the Jedi. "Because it was his choice. I don't control the wants of others."
"Then, it's my choice to go and see him." Mando said defiantly.
Ahsoka nodded. "Of course. If that is what you wish."  She looked up through the trees, and the clan followed her gaze. There atop the hill sat Grogu, just the same as before.
Mando took a step forward. "All right."
"Are you doing this for Grogu, or are you doing this for yourself?" Ahsoka said abruptly.
Mando and Elaine stopped, the girl confused as to why. Mando reached into his pouch and pulled out a small bundle. "I just... I wanna give him this." He said softly.
"Why?" Ahsoka asked. "So he will remember you?"
"No." Mando said, a little too sharply. He hesitated. "As a Mandalorian foundling, he should have this. It's his right."
Ahsoka tilted her head to the side. "Foundling. Perhaps he is a Padawan now."
Mando didn't like that. "Either way, this armor will protect him."
Ahsoka shrugged. "If you are set on it, then allow me to deliver it."
Elaine looked back and forth between the Jedi and her father. Her brown eyes wide with suspense. She looked up at the hill where Grogu sat. "I wanna see him."
"We came all this way." Mando's voice was raw with emotion. "He's right there."
"Grogu misses you a great deal." Ahsoka said. "If he sees you two, it will only make things more difficult for him."
Mando had never felt so torn in his entire life. His son was right there, not even a stone's throw away. But deep down, he knew Ahsoka was right, no matter how much he hated it. He handed her the cloth bundle. "Make sure he's protected."
Elaine's eyes began to well up. "No." She said softly.
Mando picked her up and walked away before he could hesitate more. Elaine buried her face in his shoulder, silent sobs racking her body.
                               ~~~~~
Mando let out a heavy sigh as he made his way through the palace. Fett had given him and Elaine and room to stay in as long as he needed Mando's help. He reached the door to his room, but when he opened it there was an unexpected sight.
Elaine was sitting on her bed, clutching her doll tightly. Tears ran down her face, prompting Mando to go quickly to her side.
"Hey, what's wrong, Sarad'ika?" He asked, kneeling by her bed.
Elaine sniffed and wiped her fist across her cheek. It was a fruitless effort to dry her face, seeing as the tears kept coming. "I miss Grogu."
"So do I." Mando said softly. Seeing Elaine this upset hurt him more than she would ever know. Or maybe she did. Her Empathy worked in strange ways. Mando wanted to comfort her, but how? That's when it hit him.
Mando lifted his hands, taking off his helmet. Elaine gasped softly. "But..." Was all she said.
Mando smiled sadly at her, something she could see now. "It's okay."
It felt a little strange, not wearing his helmet. But what mattered more? Maintaining something that was no longer required since he was exiled, or comforting his daughter.
Mando pulled Elaine to him, standing up as she held onto him. He sat down on his bed, stroking her hair as she cried. "I miss him too." He said softly.
Elaine sat on his lap, head leaning against his chest. "I'm never gonna see him again." She sniffled.
Mando knew there was no point in telling her otherwise, Elaine was too smart. Instead, he opted to be there for her as she grieved. He pressed a kiss to her forehead and held her tighter.
Elaine's sobs stopped after a while, and Mando figured she must have fallen asleep. But an incoherent mumble from the girl said otherwise.
"What was that?" Mando asked, unsure of what she said.
Elaine shifted, her eyes already closed. "I love you, Papi." Even then, Mando could barely hear it, but it echoed in his mind forever.
He cradled her head in his hand, kissing her head again. "I love you too, my flower."

The Force, the Jedi, and the power of Choice vs being Chosen
The Force in Star Wars is not like Magic that only Magical People Can do, and Everyone Else can't do. The world of Star Wars is not Jedi are superheroes while everyone else is powerless. It's more that Jedi are like highly talented athletes who have honed their skills as compared to non-athletes. Anyone can learn to swim, but not everyone is as strong a swimmer as Micheal Phelps because he's got a mix of the right genetics and a lot of work.
Everyone has the Force. Anyone can use the force, but not everyone is as strong a force user as Yoda.
For example, Jedi Kanan trained his adoptive daughter the Mandalorian Sabine Wren to use the Dark Saber in the hopes she could use the Saber to unite Mandalorians under her in rebellion against the Empire. Rather than letting her use the Dark Saber to train, he taught her the forms with bokken, despite teaching his own padawan, Ezra, with a live lightsaber. When his partner/Sabine's adoptive mother learns this she confronts him and this leads to Kanan clarifying something about the force.
Kanan: I'm being careful.
Hera: Were you careful with Ezra? I don't remember him fighting with a stick.
Kanan: Well, maybe I'm trying to do things differently this time.
Hera: Or maybe because she doesn't have the Force, you don't believe she can do this?
Kanan: No. The Force resides in all living things. But you have to be open to it. Sabine is blocked. Her mind is conflicted. She's so expressive and yet so tightly wound. She's so...
Hera: Mandalorian.
The Force resides in all living beings. It's not something some people have, and others don't have - everyone has the Force. The Force is not strong with everyone. Like swimming, it's a combination of genetics and practice.
Everyone in the Star Wars universe has Midi-chlorians which are like mitochondria but instead of being the powerhouse of the cell, they allow living beings to tap into the Force. Normal Human levels of 2,500 per cell to the much higher levels of Jedi. (The highest known midi-chlorian count—over 20,000 per cell—belonged to the Jedi Anakin Skywalker).
A Jedi having a high M-count is like a swimmer having long legs and arms, something you are both with that makes you naturally better. However, what you're born with isn't the only factor, it's practice and hard work.
When former Jedi Ahsoka refused to train the foundling Grogu she told his adoptive father, the Mandalorain Din Djarin, that because he is very powerful, but very traumatized and attached to Din, it is "Better to let his abilities fade."
Grogu has a high M count; he's naturally strong with the force, but his abilities will fade with time if he does not train and hone his talent. Just as someone with a good build for swimming won't become a great swimmer without practicing, without training and practice, someone with a high M count will not become a powerful force user.
The inverse is also true, and even if you do not have the innate ability/traits that make you at something, you can still train, practice, and work to get better.
Dave Filoni compared the Force to training in Martial Arts, anyone can train. "Will I be as good as Bruce Lee? No, that's not my talent." But you could still become better at Martial Arts that someone with no training, you can still be good enough to be black belt if you put the time and practice into it.
Sabine could learn to use the force well enough to wield a lightsaber by practicing being mindful of her feelings and open to connecting to the Force without being clouded by her internal conflicts. She thought Bo-Katan to use the Dark Saber. When Din Djarin got it he couldn't use it well it wasn't because he's not a force user, it's because he was fighting the weight of the Dark Saber, which was really the weight of his own feelings and conflicts (he doesn't want it, he's having a religious crisis, he misses his son). Learning to use the force is learning to connect and reach out with your feelings or in the case of the dark side channeling negative emotions towards your goal).
(George Lucus once compared the Force to Yoga, "like yoga ... everybody can do it. If you want to take the time to do it, you can do it; but the ones that really want to do it are the ones who are into that kind of thing." I wonder if the metaphor also says something about the spiritual aspect of the force, as Yoga is a holistic practice that focuses on creating a balance between the mind, body, and spirit.)
So, anyone can be trained to use the force, even if you have an average M count. It takes training and practice and is hard work. It might be harder for some than others. Apparently, Mandalorian Culture does not mesh well with being vulnerable about your feelings and open (their religion is literally wearing physical armor, so that makes sense).
However, the Jedi Order only accepted younglings who were very strong in the force. It was not worth the time to train average people since they were an order of elite warriors.
Huyang, a droid that instructed Younglings in Light Saber building, tells Sabine: I have known many Padawans over the centuries, and I can safely say your aptitude for the Force would fall short of them all.
Sabine likely did not have a high enough M-count to be recruited as a youngling even if she were tested (as Mandalorian worlds were not a part of the Republic, it's unlikely she was tested). Kanan immediately sensed how strong Ezra was in the force, but did not sense anything from Sabine. She's average, but can still train in the Jedi ways because "The Force resides in all living things."
Sabine is not one of the chosen few who are strong with the force, but she can still choose to learn the Jedi ways and fight. She may never be a very strong Jedi, but she can still do her best.

Hello there,
this is the first time I am posting something. I have many ideas that I want to write, from many fandoms
But I think I like this one the best so far:
It's a modern/university au with Star Wars characters, with a big cosplay war going on...
So... It would be a huge cosplay war between university students. With Comic Con or something like that coming up, everyone is busy making their costumes and getting their teams together. But just like within the Star Wars universe, there are problems. Everyone is trying to protect their favorite character and make the best cosplay to prove their character/team/theme is the best. Because whoever wins this bet gets the right to be the official cosplayer of the Star Wars company at these events, and the losers have to stop representing their character at events, college clubs, etc...
So it all started because of a rude bet and since then the whole community, friends and couples have been torn apart because of their views. Of course, no one wants to lose or admit they were wrong anymore.
It's affecting everyone in and around the university. But maybe that's what helps everyone realize what's really important.
They must survive university, the growing tension, sudden bursts of emotion, and win a bet while everyone is just a huge star wars nerd
But to get to the specifics:
Groups, characters:
- Anakin, Obi Wan, Ahsoka, Padme, Rex, Cody, Dooku, Ventress, Palpatine, Maul, so pretty much the Jedi Council and most of the clones.... They would be the team who live and die for the Clone Wars and the times around, prequel
- Mandalorians who follow the Way: Din, Paz, The Armorer, and those who live in the cover, foundlings, and those who later became friends of Din, e.g. Cara, IG-11, Luke, Grogu....
- And of course the Night Owls, led by Bo-Katan and the rest of the Mandalorians who served her
- Maybe from the Original and the Rebels, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, Lando, Ezra, Sabine, Hera...
How it works:
There are a lot of characters and relationships that need to be developed, and of course because it's an AU, minor major shaping is needed to fit the Star Wars world into the story.
So the main change would be how they know about their characters. I imagine that there are movies and series, but since I'm mainly informed about them, comic books/video games unfortunately wont be featuring now. And since the characters will be playing their own movie/series characters, they will never be named, which explains why they're called the same name.
For example, Anakin watched the Clone Wars and decided to be the character who is the General of the 501 and a Jedi knight with his own padawan, but he will never say that "I am Anakin Skywalker from the Clone Wars!" And since everyone here takes character role-playing very seriously, everyone knows their own or rival gang's character inside out, so you never have to introduce yourself.
How are they related:
- Since I want Anakin and Padme to be in the same time as Luka/Leia, they will probably be Anakin's cousins, but they are close enough, they are not in college yet
- I love the idea of Obi Wan, Anakin and Ahsoka being adopted siblings
- Also the whole Fett clan is some sort of brother/cousin relationship, I haven't decided who with who yet, butfor sure Echo and Fives are the Chaos Twins
- The foundlings will be little cousins, or brothers in some cases
Pairs/ships:
Mainly
- Anakin and Padme, together since Anakin's first year
- Obi Wan and Cody, chill boyfriends who look after their friends/siblings
- Paz and Axe bc im the kind of person who sees two characters fighting each other and go for enemis to lovers trope
Also
- Luke and Din bc they are Grogu's dads for me
- Leia and Han
- Bly and Aayla
- Fox and Rio Chuchi (not sure)
- maybe some Boba x Cal too
I may add more, but if there is something you would like to see I look forward to your suggestions
When and how?
I have no idea, because it takes a lot of planning, because there are a lot of characters and stories, but I'm trying.
I will post it on Ao3 as soon as its ready
Warnings:
- I'm not familiar with the American university system, not even with the university, since I'm not there yet and I'm from another country, so I'll try to rely on what I know and since this is my fic, there will be some changes from reality obviously
- since I live in a completely different country than America, I won't be able to give you exact descriptions of places and things, but I'll try
- also my spelling, as it's not my first language and I often use a translator, it can be a bit weird, but feel free to correct me
- I don't think I will write any detailed smut, but anything is possible
Well, thanks for reading, I'm really curious to know what you think about all this and if you have any suggestions...
I hope to update the news soon, may the Force be with you!

that's a nice theory, op! i want to believe in it too but it was announced before the show aired that ahsoka happens concurrently with mando season three so ahsoka HAS met luke before encountering baylan skoll. it's only that luke is far beneath her list of concern that she never thought of him 😔although the ahsoka show does recontextualize her refusal to train grogu and the motive behind her preventing mando to meet up with grogu in ossus. she convinced r2 to go to her instead of telling luke that mando came to visit. luke was never told and had to find out that mando visited when mando's ship was leaving. i'm sure her intentions were from a place of good but in the end she prevented mando to meet his foundling (something she would have known is important in mando culture because she spent time with bo-katan and sabine) and yet she didn't trust luke to handle it himself. she even mentioned how luke is like his father right after he confronted her about mando's visit. this is all very interesting because with the recent ahsoka episode, her actions in tbobf is recontextualized as something that's likely motivated by her trauma and issues that stem from her unresolved past. and luke was too polite to have his choice to confront mando and decide what to do with grogu alongside his student's parental figure basically robbed from him 😭
Hey anon, thanks for stopping by ♡
As far as I know there's no official confirmation from Dave Filoni or the official Star Wars website about the actual timeline of the Ahsoka series, there are some new articles still speculating about the timeline. But I think during SW celebration Natasha Liu Bordizzo was the only one who said that the show's events are happening along the same timeline as Mando S3. So, you could be right.
But what still makes me suspicious of the timeline is that a few days after the two-episode premiere, the official Star Wars website omitted TBOBF ep 6 from the list of essential episodes to watch before the Ahsoka show. Which is...weird.
The last recommendation in the list is her appearance in The Mandalorian s2. So why is that I wonder?
We start the Ahsoka show with Morgan Elsbeth being rescued by Baylan and Shin as she was being transported to Coruscant for her trial, the last time we saw Morgan is when she was defeated and captured by Ahsoka in Mando s2. I don't think it'll take the new republic 2+ years to transfer a prisoner to Coruscant for their trial, so it's safe to assume that this happens after a few months max from her capture by Ahsoka. So at this point I don't think we reached TBOBF timeline yet...
As for Ahsoka preventing Din from seeing Grogu in that episode, I didn't like it, and at the time I didn't get the concept of no-attachments with Jedi (I became a Star Wars fan after the Mandalorian S2 finale & haven't watched the animated shows yet at the time) but then I read some other fans' analysis of that scene and I understood why Ahsoka was adamant about it. The thing is Grogu has a BIG attachment issue to the point of not being able to concentrate on his training, as Luke said, his heart wasn't in it. That kind of attachment and conflict within his heart along with being very strong with the Force can be dangerous for him because he'd be susceptible to the dark side. I think @gffa explained Ahsoka's reasoning well here.
I know there are different views in the fandom about the Jedi Code of no attachments, canon vs legends...etc, and I personally think that this rule is not being examined or conveyed in a clear way or in a good way? in live action tv shows, but it seems Dave Filoni is continuing George Lucas's views about attachments with Jedi, that this rule is not wrong. So I think Ahsoka wasn't preventing Din from seeing Grogu out of her own trauma, her reasoning was solid.
Having said that, as much as I enjoyed Ahsoka being with Luke in TBOBF (it was beautiful ngl), I personally don't think she should've been there in the first place.
For two reasons:
A) As you said, it robbed Luke of an important moment in the story that would have added so much to his character and also Din's. Luke should've been the one to talk to Din about Grogu and have some interesting meaningful discussion with him about what it means to be a Jedi and what it means to be a Mandalorian (seriously how tf could filoni and favreau pass on this marvelous opportunity??!! PFFFT), and if they want to save the reunion with Grogu for later they could've let him nap deeply while Luke and Din have a chat.
B) How could they throw Ahsoka and Luke casually talking with each other at the audience WITHOUT SHOWING THEIR FIRST MEETING TOGETHER?!! It's a big thing! Like, it still boggles my mind! So I think Ahsoka meeting Luke for the first time should've been in her own show.
But anyways, back to our topic, there's a moment in TBOBF where Ahsoka tells Luke to trust his instincts, and if you remember one of the Ahsoka teasers a while ago had Anakin's voice talking to Ahsoka (A flashback? An old hologram?) telling her to trust her instincts (perhaps it's coming up in one of the remaining episods?)...So maybe that's where it stuck with her and then she told Luke the same thing later, you know 😭😭😭
Sorry for the long rambling answer anon.

The lack of Satine merch has always struck me as being a total miss on the part of The Powers That Be. It seems they're adamant about not licensing anything.
But there is some great fan-made merch out there!
I've seen where some people have made custom Funkos, I'm in the process of making a series of Satine Barbies, and there's some artists and pin makers. I'm going to link some of my faves below:
Enamel Pins: My fave, Foundling Mercantile, makes some gorgeous stuff, but she happens to have a couple Obi-Wan/Satine or Satine-related pins in her shop right now. (There's one of them together on the Coronet that is in production and hasn't hit the website yet, but you can view the art on her Instagram.)
There are some other artists who have made Satine pins, but she's the one I know has some stuff guaranteed that's in stock or on the way.
Art Prints: You can find prints if you're searching on Etsy, but there's 3 that I'm going to link here. This first one from Odder Than Antiquity (and I actually commissioned it publicly, so I'm patting myself on that back for that one 'cause it was money well spent) is gorgeous and I have it in my office in the largest size possible. The second and third links are artists in the fandom who make Satine art! Vexx and Mercy are both amazing artists and have their work available in prints and in stickers, and I've bought some of both!
Etsy also has a wealth of other little things. There's a handbag being sold on there? Lego earrings or something similar to that? Niche stuff that's cool and hits a targeted audience.
I actually drove 3 hours last summer to pick up a 3D printed resin figure of Satine that someone scaled up in their printer so that I could hand paint it and put it on display in my office. Like, the desperation is real.
But yeah, we're definitely scraping up crumbs to try to make a meal here in this fandom.
ETA! I am the fucking worst, I forgot to share these items!
Like, the Keldabi kiss with Satine and Bo?! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY. So freakin' cute. Sorry, @sapphicsparkles, for forgetting you on my OP. I'm an ass. <3
im in desperate need of satine merch. like that one piece of official merch she has? cant find that anywhere. the stuff on etsy is either not my thing or wildly expensive and i cant find anything else. if you know of satine merch or have any youre selling PLEASE let me know

Grogu makes a friend Part 3/The advantage of mercy
They remained at the landing site for several hours after the Mandalorian sent his message to Ahsoka Tano. In that time, Ta’lan Bet had made Grogu some food which Djarin didn’t let his son eat. She offered to take them on a tour of the ship, which he declined and then she finally brought Grogu craft materials and markers and suggested that he might like to color. Grogu took the materials to the other table in the room and sat there drawing pictures without once glancing at his father.
Ta’lan simply sat on the floor and meditated. She looked much like Grogu had on Tython. Just sitting and breathing and almost making him forget that the only people he’d met who were so capable with lightsabers were Grogu’s former Master Luke and Ahsoka herself. But he had to admit that her style was very different. Less artist and more pragmatist.
Then the ping came again. An incoming message. He went to the engineering desk and activated it.
“I would trust her with my life. I have trusted her with my life. If she can join you here, have her come. Tell her to meet us at the old Jedi temple. Tano out.”
Ahsoka’s voice hung in the air. The Mandalorian looked over at Grogu who was now organizing his markers and papers and then he looked at Ta’lan. She was still meditating and appeared to have heard none of what transpired.
“Grogu? Can you talk to her when she’s like that?”
Grogu nodded his head.
“Please let her know that I would like to ask for her help.”
Grogu coo’d and chirped.
“Yes, what Ahsoka said made a difference.”
Grogu grumbled.
“Yes, you can eat the food once she has the message.”
Djarin watched Grogu close his eyes and saw the dark haired woman’s eyes open.
“Thank you. Of course. I’ll get you a cup.”
She unfolded from her seated position and produced something for Grogu to drink and brought him a plate of food and then walked over to the engineering console and typed in some commands, while Din Djarin sat there in silence.
He heard the sounds of the HK unit re-board the ship and then the ramp retract and the airlock cycle shut.
“So you want to go to Jakku with me?” She asked him from just over his shoulder.
He turned to look at her and noticed that her scars were also etched on her neck. He hadn’t noticed that before.
“Yes. If I haven’t put you off helping us, that is.”
“I try to keep the grudges I carry to the an absolute minimum. So far I have accumulated two and you are not attached to either of them, so we should have no issues.”
She turned to look at him and smiled.
“Since I use the HK unit as my co-pilot, let me show you to your cabin. It has its own ‘fresher and you will have independent control of the locking mechanism.”
“I’ve seen what you can do with a lightsaber. Either I trust you or I don’t. Don’t give me a reason not to trust you.”
“I will do my best, Mandalorian.”
“Call me Djarin.”
“Thank you.”
He felt a bit like an idiot being so stubborn and then just following along with her, but if Ahsoka Tano trusted her and she’d already saved Grogu and healed Djarin’s injury, well, she’d had more than one chance to mess them about and didn’t. He just had to hope that would continue.
When they were underway and had made the jump to hyperspace, she had joined he and Grogu in the lounge area. Grogu ran right over to her and asked that she pick him up. She turned to the Mandalorian.
“May I hold him?”
“Yes, if that’s what he wants.”
Ta’lan chirped and coo’d to Grogu and Djarin saw his foundling jump up into her arms.
“He must like you. He doesn’t do that for many people.”
She smiled at him.
“I asked him to show me what he practices routinely. He says this jump is it along with healing you.”
“That’s true. He was raised by the Jedi. I became his…protector, a number of years ago.”
“Yes, he has explained that to me. When we were in the tavern.”
“He knew you could use the Force?”
“Yes. He sensed that I could work with it. He is very open to the Force. Mira Ost does not usually display the ability to use the Force. But he is special. He wanted me to know that he was perfectly willing to stop me from hurting you. I explained to him that Ahsoka had asked me to look after you two. So you may have noticed me following you all through Andui. My apologies to you both. Ahsoka did not ask me to do anything else.”
“Then why did you stop those droids?”
She grinned at him and walked Grogu over to where he sat and handed his young charge back to him.
“I suppose I did it because I knew I could deal with them and not allow anyone else to be injured. I’m sorry to say that the reputation of Mandalorian bounty hunters is well known to me and I did not want anyone to die.”
“What about that person you hit with the baton after you threw them to the ground?”
“You saw that? Well, I’m sure I’ll think about regretting breaking their hand as soon as they think about regretting firing upon you. They survived that, even if their weapon did not.”
“What is that baton made from? Beskar?”
“Yes. Indeed. Most people don’t recognize it.”
Djarin could feel his jaw setting. Why the hell did she have beskar? Or speak Mando’a? Or visit Ordo or Concordia?
“May I see it?”
He could feel her sigh.
“Of course. It is not the only beskar I have.”
She walked over to the forward hold and pressed a panel and opened the door. He debated whether or not he should follow her, but chose to wait given Grogu’s complaints at him.
“Buddy, I just asked to see it. Maybe she is a Mandalorian and just doesn’t wear armor. I don’t know.”
“Grogu, it is all right. Mandalorians gave me some of these things and I am bringing others back to their rightful owners. I do not worry about things. I save my worries for people and planets.” Ta’lan brought the baton over to him and let him examine it at his leisure.
“I don’t know this armorer. I was told beskar should not be used for weapons.” He handed it back to her.
“The Darksaber is a weapon made from beskar. Many other such items have existed since ancient times. The danger with them is that they take on more significance than they should. I use this primarily for defense. I have never killed a person with an article made from beskar.”
He noticed the sad note she spoke with and couldn’t help but ask, “But you have killed a person?”
“Yes. Long ago. I still regret it and I will not repeat that mistake. The Brethren do not believe that they have the right to take a life through direct action. I may stop you and hold you, but I can not take your life or anyone else’s for that matter.”
“How does a spy manage that?” He asked, incredulous about her claim.
“Not easily. But mercy is an advantage when you are a spy, not a fault. My purpose was not to kill the enemy, but to mislead them, delay them, and cause them to fail. I did what I could.”
They fell silent at that.

Bo Katan x The Armorer (The Foundling)
Part 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
Summary: When a child and her mother are brought to the covert following a routine patrol, the lives of the Armorer and Bo Katan Kryze are forever altered.
It was Paz Vizsla who had found the girl half starved, the mother ill and unresponsive when he was patrolling Navarro. He had almost missed her, but something had made him turn his head, and he saw this small child pleading near his feet. Her mother was lying nearby on a dirty blanket.
His parental instincts had kicked in when the child asked if he had food or medicine and had quickly ordered his squad to take the mother back to the Covert.
"Come with me, child." Paz said softly. "We will help you and your mother."
"T...thank you sir."
"What is your name?"
"Satine." Satine answered quietly, and Paz picked her up like he would Ragnar, his son. Holding the child close and trying not to think about how light she was.
When they made it back to the covert, he had one of their female coverts get Satine a bath, new clothes and some food. The clothes were a little big, and she asked for her mother a few times; only to be told she was sick and needed rest as Paz contacted the Armorer and Bo. He knew they had a Jedi visiting, and wondered if she could help figure out what happened.
When Ahsoka met him outside the common area, Paz looked grim.
"The child was starving Jedi. And her mother is very sick."
Ahsoka flickers her gaze to the child and frowns. "How did you come across her?"
"She approached us." Paz answers. "I couldn't turn her away. She's so small. She needed our help."
"You did the right thing, Paz." Ahsoka answers. "I came here to pass along information, but I'll do what I can for the girl."
"Thank you." Paz answers. "I will go and check on the mother." He leaves, and Ahsoka takes a deep breath before she enters the room.
The girl couldn't be more than ten or eleven. With dark reddish hair and blue eyes that were fixated on the untouched food in front of her.
She was nervous, Ahsoka realised. Looking around like she was afraid someone would take it away at any moment. She curled her arm around the plate and looked up at Ahsoka like she sensed she was there.
"You can have seconds if you want." Ahsoka says gently as she sits across from her, tilting her head. "The covert takes care of all its foundlings." She adds, and the girl relaxes a bit, starting to eat her food. "My name is Ahsoka. You and your mother were brought in by Paz?"
The girl nods and pauses. "Mother is very sick." She looks at Ahsoka, hesitating. "You have a very pretty name. It's a lot better than mine anyway." She hesitates again as Ahsoka nods at her to continue
"My name is Satine."
Ahsoka smiled warmly. "You were named after the Duchess?" She asks, and Satine nods. "Your parents must have high hopes for you."
"I guess so." Satine shrugs. She looks at the doorway to see Paz and swallows nervously. Was something wrong?
"Young one? I need you to come with me." Paz says from the doorway, and Ahsoka is already on her feet.
"Am I in trouble?" Satine asks. She stands up and moves next to Ahsoka.
"No. It's..." Paz straightens up. "Please come with me Satine."
Ahsoka puts a hand on her shoulder. "I will come with you." She offers. Satine looks at her and nods before they follow Paz into the medical wing.
"She must go in by herself." Paz says suddenly. Ahsoka looks down at Satine and squeezes her hand. Trying to bring her comfort. She knows it's about her mother now.
He pauses at the door, and Ahsoka moves to lean against the wall as Satine lets go of her hand. She goes inside to her mother, who's been lying there for three days, and reaches out to hold her hand as Paz comes into the room.
It's cold.
"She's gone." Satine says suddenly. Her face feels hot, and she grips her mother's hand tightly. It takes a moment for Satine to realise that she's crying.
"She is with your Buir now and your ancestors." Paz replies and kneels down next to her. "But do not feel as though you are forgotten small one." He stands up. "I will be back in a moment."
Paz stands up and leaves the room, meeting Ahsoka outside; leaning against the wall. She looks at him, but death hangs in the air through the force, and she knows what Paz is about to say.
"The child's mother has died." Paz says. He looks at Ahsoka. "I will help prepare the rites, but the child must be accepted as a foundling of the tribe. You must speak to the Armorer." He looks back inside the room to Satine, who is crying quietly.
Ahsoka nods and thanks him before moving past Paz to Satine. She kneels down next to her and places a hand in her back. "Paz needs to prepare your mother for her funeral. I need you to come with me Satine."
Satine sobs, but nods; letting Ahsoka help her up. Ahsoka holds her close as they walk back to Paz, and the giant of a man places a gentle hand on Satine's head.
"It will be hard, young one, but you are not alone." Paz offers before moving away. Satine sniffs and wraps both her arms around Ahsoka tightly.
"It's going to be okay, Satine." Ahsoka tells her. She lets Satine hold onto her for as long as she needs until her tears are quiet and take her by the hand. "Come. The Armorer wishes to speak with us."
"Is she the leader around here?" Satine asks, trying to focus on anything else but her mother for a moment.
"She is." Ahsoka says, "But she has a soft spot for foundlings."
Satine nodded and didn't say anything else as they approached the forge. She kept close to Ahsoka when they approached the Armorer and a red-haired woman who had her helmet off. She didn't know Mandalorians could do that.
"This is the foundling?" The Armorer says as she puts down her hammer. She tilts her head as she looks at her, realizing she has been crying. "What has upset you adi'ka?"
"My mother..." Satine shakes her head and rubs tears from her eyes.
"...is gone." Ahsoka says. She looks at Bo, who is staring at Satine sympathetically. "Paz requested she be taken in as a foundling."
"A noble request." The Armorer answers. "You have no one else, child?" The Armorer asks softly.
Satine nodded and looked at the floor. She didn't want to look at anyone. She didn't want them to tell her it was going to be okay. Her mother was dead.
She really did have no one.
"Child, you must look me in the eyes when speaking. When you answer questions. " The Armorer explained. Satine looked at her, eyes unsure and cautious. "Good."
She turned to Bo, who had turned pale; frowning. Trying to figure out where she knew this child from. Why did she look so familiar?
"What is your name child? You're parents names?" The Armorer asked. "I must write it down so you don't forget your history."
Satine swallowed, nervous. "My name is Satine." She looked at Ahsoka, who nodded at her to continue. "My mother was Adalia, and my father was Koregan. But everyone called my buir Korkie. He died in the purge."
"He was Mandalorian?"
Satine nods. "I don't remember him though."
"You were young. It is understandable." The Armorer turned to Bo, who startled badly. She placed a hand on her arm and drew her attention. The Armorer tilted her helmet, so it touched Bo's and squeezed her arm as she pulled away.
"Are you wives?" Satine asked suddenly.
"We are." The Armorer replied, amused.
Satine brightened up. "Oh! That's so wonderful!"
Bo nodded in thanks but still didn't say anything. How could she? Not when the eyes of her late sister stared at them.
"I have to go." Bo says suddenly, ignoring the look Ahsoka sends her way. The room is suddenly too hot, too suffocating. How could no one have told her that she had a niece? That she wasn't the last Kryze.
How could they lie to her?
Satine watches as Bo leaves with a furrowed brow, her heart seizing in pain. Was she angry with her? Satine frowned. "Have I done something wrong?"
"No adi'ka. Bo is just having a rough day." The Armorer puts a hand on Satine's shoulder and draws her attention towards her. "Come. I will teach you about our funeral rights and help you through the ceremony tomorrow."
The Armorer looks at Ahsoka as she leaves with Satine, and Ahsoka nods at her. She will go and check on Bo in the meantime.
"Bye, Ahsoka." Satine waves over her shoulder and turns her attention back to the Armorer.
"I'll see you in a bit little one." Ahsoka replies gently. She watches them disapear and then reaches out with the force. Bo is outside? Upset. Angry.
Ahsoka hurries.
By the time Ahsoka finds Bo, she's thrown her helmet to the ground and is pacing. Ahsoka approaches carefully, not wanting to startle Bo but understanding that the anger she feels is coming from a place of hurt.
"Bo?" Ahsoka says, and Bo turns to her, furious.
"Nothing you say can make this better." Bo snaps at her.
"Look. You can be as mad as you want in private. But not in front of Satine." Ahsoka argues back. "She's force sensitive Bo. She knew you were upset."
Bo swallows hard and breathes hard. But the anger still lingers. "Just like Kenobi."
"He never knew about Korkie. Why would your sister tell him he had a son? She wanted him to stay with the Jedi Order." Ahsoka answers. She steps closer to Bo and holds her arm.
"That child..."
"Satine." Ahsoka corrects gently. "Has just lost her mother."
Bo turns away from Ahsoka, trying to calm down. "I won't tell the child yet."
Ahsoka sighs. "Okay."
"I need some time, Ahsoka. Please." Bo pleads with her, red hair falling in her eyes. She clenched her fist and Ahsoka turned away.
"Come inside before it gets too dark, at least." Ahsoka says. "I'll go check on Satine." She walks away, leaving Bo alone with her thoughts.
And with her regrets.
