secret agent laf trying to kill thomas finding out that mc and him are sleeping together: oh. oh no. this complicates things. this is very not good.
ok i rlly couldn't help myself with this one
------
"I'm gonna go get in the shower, sweetheart." She pulled the pillow tighter to herself, shifting to watch Thomas as he turned to the bathroom, and he caught her gaze when he glanced back over his shoulder. He grinned. "You sure you don't wanna join me?"
His playful tone made her roll her eyes, though she couldn't repress her small smile. "Not this time."
"You'll come around." He sent her a short wink before continuing forward. The bathroom door fell shut behind him, and Y/N drew in a heavy yawn, swallowing her fatigue as she lazily pushed herself up to sit against the headboard. She reached over to grab her phone, scrolled briefly through her missed texts and emails, but despite the quiet hum of the air conditioner, the sound of the water in the bathroom tapping against the tiles in the shower, hardly muffled through the halfway-shut bathroom door, all was quiet.
Y/N was halfway through shooting Peggy a text letting her know what time she'd be home, when--
Bang.
She gave a start at the sudden, loud noise. Her gaze snapped forward. It wouldn't have been housekeeping; as far as she was aware, they didn't need to break down doors to make guests' beds. Besides, Thomas had stuck a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the handle the previous evening. Y/N prayed it hadn't fallen off as she'd tugged Thomas further into the room by his tie, disregarding his task, giggling against his lips.
The footsteps that followed were quiet; she could hardly hear them on the carpeted floor. Whoever had broken in was clearly rather intentional about being light on their feet. She should've been scared straight, but quite frankly, Y/N was more curious than anything.
She pulled the bedsheets up her chest, scooted back toward the headboard, tucking her knees into her chest. She had half a mind to dial 911, but realistically, if her unknown intruder had any interest in killing her, she may as well have been already dead.
She swallowed hard, dread building in her stomach when she saw one of his careful feet come from the other side of the corner adjacent to the small suite's door, but the real shock came when she saw his face.
"Lafayette?" The word was breathless, riddled with disbelief. On one hand, she probably wouldn't be dying in the next five minutes, but on the other, he was holding a gun.
"Y/N, I... I am in ze right room. I must be; I..." He trailed off as he eyed her, her mussed-up hair, the smeared mascara under her eyes, the avante-garde collage of purple and red that marked her neck and shoulders, continuing down her chest below the sheet she'd ducked under for cover. She swallowed hard; the scene was unmistakable. "Oh, no."
"What are you doing here?" she asked, eyes darting down his figure, to the gloves he wore and the knives strapped to his left hip. "And why the fuck do you have a gun? This is Thomas's room, not some Russian spy's hideout."
"Mm, I would ask you precisely ze same question, but it is already clear exactly what business you 'ave here." He cocked an eyebrow as he looked the room over, and she saw his eyes widen further yet, settling on the handcuffs she'd discarded onto the floor beside the bed, not far from either her rumpled clothing or the long-forgotten condom wrapper reflecting the rising sun off of its foil.
Y/N scowled. "What's it to you who I'm sleeping with?"
"Do not pretend zat sleeping with ze presidential frontrunner is ze same as sleeping with some delegate you met at a convention." He gave her a pointed look, but she just rolled her eyes.
"Quite frankly, it's none of your business." Her scowl subsided to skepticism, though, when her eyes drifted back to the critical mass of weapons he had on him. "But what's got you busting in here looking like you just walked off the set of Men in Black?"
He pursed his lips, glanced down at his outfit. He'd long since lowered his gun, had apparently decided he no longer needed it, having found only the lowest possible level of threat (not to sell Y/N short, or anything). "I... saw zat Thomas's security detail was no longer outside 'is door, and, well..."
"You thought it'd be a good time to ambush him?"
Lafayette's eyes widened. "Non! No, nothing like zat. Truly, I... 'eard rumors of someone planning to 'take Thomas out' during 'is stay 'ere. I did not know what zey meant by it, but..."
When he trailed off, she raised a dubious eyebrow. "... But?"
"I did not think it wise to wait to find out. When I saw 'is room unguarded, I could only assume ze worst case scenario." He shrugged, shifting his belt so the row of knives was safely tucked behind the back of his blazer, secured his gun back into its holster on his other hip. Despite her surprise, Y/N couldn't find a reason to doubt his words. She knew Lafayette was ex-military, so she couldn't really make any assumptions on the fact that he just had a whole slew of weaponry lying around.
"You're such an alarmist," she sighed, reaching over to put her phone back on its charger. Having been turned away, she didn't see the surpise on his face at her easy acceptance of his words. She glanced back to him with a small smile. "It's sweet that you're worried about him, though. Maybe he should hire you as his security detail next time."
Lafayette gave a weak chuckle as Y/N leaned down to pick her shirt up off the ground. They were both too preoccupied to pay it any mind when the water from the shower turned off. "Anyway, I should be going... I am glad Thomas is clearly..." She wasn't looking back at him, instead collecting her bearings, and she didn't see his gaze draw to where the bedsheet was gradually sinking down her chest as she shifted under it. "... in no sort of pitiable position."
Despite her distraction, she flashed him a sly grin. "What, you jealous?"
"Oh! Non, I did not mean--"
She laughed at how flustered he looked, raising his hands in defense and taking a stumbling step back, his eyes wide. "Relax. I'm just messing with you."
"... Of course, chérie." He drew in a shuddering breath. "Anyway, I must go. It 'as been... interesting to run into you 'ere, but I--"
"Lafayette!" Both their gazes snapped to the bathroom when Thomas emerged in the doorway, wearing only a lopsided grin and a towel hanging low on his hips as water dripped down from his curls. Though Lafayette looked blindsided, Y/N's eyes were shamelessly traveling south. "Hey, what're you doin' here?"
"He came to check on you." Y/N put on a mock pout as she turned back to Lafayette. "Your bodyguards were gone, and he thought you were gonna get attacked."
Thomas raised an eyebrow, and his tone was playful as he said, "Aw, and you really decided to go takin' my security into your own hands? Better not be goin' soft on me, now."
Lafayette responded with a smile that didn't meet his eyes, but neither Thomas nor Y/N noticed the discrepancy. "I would never."
"Glad to hear it."
Lafayette nodded, some of his usual confidence slowly drifting back into his demeanor. "So ze two of you are... ?"
When Lafayette trailed off, Thomas gave a short laugh. "'S nothin' serious. And don't you look at us like that, actin' like you don't have a different girl in your bed once a week."
Y/N raised her eyebrows. "Oh yeah? You been getting around?"
Lafayette rolled his eyes, and he was grateful neither Y/N nor Thomas had taken note of either the tension in his shoulders or the hesitance of his gaze. "Please, you make me out to be some sort of a philanderer."
"If the shoe fits," Thomas responded with a shrug, and when the skepticism didn't leave Lafayette's expression. "Aw, what, are you tryin' to claim you've suddenly become some kinda serial monogamist?"
"I simply do not appreciate being slandered Thomas," he responded cooly, but his gaze drifted back to the closing space between where Y/N sat on the bed and where Thomas stood, a hand resting on her shoulder. "Well, since ze two of you seem... very well occupied, I suppose I should leave you to--"
"No, you should join us for breakfast!" Y/N suggested, cutting him off as her eyes shone with enthusiasm. She glanced up at Thomas. "If that's cool with you?"
His wink in response made her smile grow, and he squeezed her shoulder playfully. "'Course, sweetheart. Whatever you want."
"Please, Laf?" Despite that every cell in his body was itching for him to dart toward the exit, when he saw the hope in her gaze, Lafayette sighed.
"I do not want to intrude on ze two of you enjoying your morning together."
"Don't worry; you aren't interrupting anything," Y/N assured him, and Thomas nodded nonchalantly.
"Really, c'mon down with us. 'S my treat."
"Oh, I could not take advantage of your 'ospitality like zis. Truly, I--"
"Hey, I'm the one offerin'," Thomas cut him off. "Don't think either of us have seen you in a while, anyway. I won't take no for an answer."
Lafayette sighed, and with the naïve hope written across Y/N's face, he couldn't help but feel guilt rising in his throat. "I do not know..."
"C'mon, please?" Y/N asked, plastering on a mock pout. "I never see you anymore, what with all the time you're spending at the French embassy, always 'planning' who-knows-what."
"My work keeps me busy, chérie," he responded tentatively, hoping she wouldn't press that line of conversation even a step further. She huffed.
"Well, you're clearly not busy now," she said. "Just come with us. Please? For me?"
A moment passed in near-silence, Lafayette not quite enamored with any aspect of the situation. However, he supposed turning down the request would do more harm than going along cheerfully with their oblivious offer, and he sighed. "Very well. If you insist."
"Great!" Y/N pulled herself up where she sat on the bed, pulling her (Thomas's) oversized shirt over her head as she started toward the bathroom, and Lafayette's eyes widened a fraction of an inch -- she took just about no care to cover up as she went to reach up to where the towels were stacked. "Just lemme finish getting ready. Can we meet you downstairs in fifteen minutes?"
She looked over her shoulder, and Lafayette forced a small smile. "I'd love nothing more."
Needless to say, that morning didn't exactly end up being quite the triumph Lafayette had intended. At least the omelettes were halfway decent.

too good;; hamilsquad x reader
Warnings;; swears?? none rlly.
authors note;; sorry i wrote this on mobile in like 27 minutes it’s shitty sorry i lov yall
You muttered a quick thank you to the taxi driver and threw a twenty his way. Giving yourself a once over, you were finally satisfied and strolled up to the house. You didn’t bother knocking, rather you opened the door. You practically lived there, so it was no big deal. “Boys?” you shouted throughout the apartment. “Y/N? Is that you?” Alexanders voice echoed through the halls. “Yeah”.
Lafayette was the first to come out “Ah! Mon amour” He engulfed you in a hug which only lasted a few moments. “Ah, let me see how you look. Do a quick spin for me!” You giggled, basking in the attention and did a quick 360°, show casing your looks. A tight white lace dress with a deep V neck line which accentuated your breasts. “You look amazing, Y/N” Alexander gushed.
A blush took its place on your cheeks. “Thank you, Alex” you giggled. “Let’s see our girl!” Hercules bellowed heartily. You laughed again, and spun in a circle, feeling the eyes of the three boys on you. “Damn, I’m missing the show!!” John joked, walking out of the room he shared with Alexander.
You giggled, and blushed even harder, if that was possible. “You’re not missing anything, Johnny boy” you laughed. You gave your ‘crowd’ a shimmy before bursting into a quick fit of giggles. You quickly composed yourself and asked “Is everyone ready?” Hercules gave the boys a once over and nodded. “Were all ready, darling”. You smiled at your boys. “Let’s get going then”
No less than twenty minutes you arrived at Peggy’s party. You pulled at your dress consciously and tucked invisible stray hairs behind your ears. Laf, John, Alex, and Hercules all gave you worried looks. “You know we don’t have be here?” Alex muttered into your ear, placing his had on your lower back.
You nodded and took a deep breath. “I know darling. But, this is my best friends party, and my boyfriends have been looking forward to going” You grinned. “Yes, but our girlfriends mental health is much more important than a party” John chided. Alex and Lafayette nodded in agreement. “Yes mon ange. If you are not feeling comfortable here we can leave.” Lafayette empathized.
You chuckled “I’m fine! I promise! Now, one of you get me a drink” As soon as you joked, the boys faces lit up. “I’ll get you a drink, angel!” John hollered, running towards the table filled with alcohol. “What? No! I’ll get you a drink, babe” Alex insisted, following John’s footsteps. “If we’re gonna be dealing with those two all night, I am going to need a drink, mon chéri” Lafayette quipped. He pressed a kissed to your temple and went after John and Alexander.
The only one left was Hercules. He slung his arm around your shoulder. “C'mon, lets find a spot to sit, baby girl” You nodded in agreement and went wondering with Hercules to find a free spot to sit, where there weren’t couples making out. Finally, you found a free couch. You removed Hercules’ arm and ran as fast as you could in your heels and claimed the couch. You patted at the cushion next to you and motioned Hercules to sit.
He sat in the spot next to you and leaned his head on your shoulder. You smiled and pressed a kiss to his temple. “I don’t deserve you guys” you admitted. Hercules looked up at you with furrowed brows and a tight lipped frown graced upon his angelic face. “What?” He fully sat up and was now looking you in the eyes. “I don’t deserve you all” you repeated. “You and the boys. You’re all so good to me. I don’t deserve any of this”.
Hercules opened his mouth to speak, but decided against it. “Hey, what’d i miss?” Alex asked, looking between Hercules and you. John and Lafayette followed suit, piling on the couch. “Y/N doesn’t think she’s good enough for us.” Hercules spoke. “Whaaattt?” Lafayette asked, grabbing your arm. “Is this true, mon amour?”. Four concerned eyes stared you down. You sighed. “Yeah, but it’s not a big deal. You guys are too good.” You admitted. “As if! You’re perfect, babe! If anything, we don’t deserve you.” Alexander butted in. The three others nodded in agreement.
You blushed for what felt like the 100th time that day. “Thank you guys. I love you all”. They smiled at you “We love you more.” They said in unison. John intertwined his hand with yours and you pressed a kiss to his mouth. He always tasted like cherry chapstick. This time there was a hint of cheap whiskey. “Hey! If you’re passing out kisses, we want some too!” Alexander whined. You laughed and grabbed Alex’s face and kissed his lips, then moved to Lafayette, and lastly Hercules. Your boys were so good to you.
