THE KINGS INN PUB COULD WELL BE DESCRIBED AS MY LOCAL
The Kings Inn Pub in Dublin, Ireland, is a traditional Irish pub with a rich history dating back to the 18th century
A VERY OLD PUB I have not been inside this pub for about thirty years and to the best of my knowledge it has changed ownership at least once since then. The current owners purchased and refurbished it in 2018 and before that it had not been trading for at least 3 years. The Kings Inn Pub in Dublin, Ireland, is a traditional Irish pub with a rich history dating back to the 18th century. While…

DART TRAINS COMING AND GOING WHILE THE RUGBY FANS ARREAR TO BE CONFUSED
The Dublin Area Rapid Transit system (stylised as DART) is an electrified commuter rail railway network serving the coastline and city of Dublin, Ireland.
TARA STREET STATION IN DUBLIN ON A BUSY SATURDAY The station was unusually busy for a Saturday as there was a Rugby Match at Lansdowne. As soon as I arrived there was a special train and that reduced the pressure on the southbound service however because of the crowding I abandoned my plan to visit Greystones and travelled North to Howth instead. The Dublin Area Rapid Transit system (stylised…

LIVING OUT OF A SUITCASE
Living out of a suitcase is a phrase meaning “to stay/live in several places temporarily, with only enough belongings to put in a suitcase”.

WHY ARE THE DOORS SO TALL AND NARROW
Arbour Hill is derived from the Irish Cnoc an Arbhair which means "corn hill". The area was owned by Christ Church Cathedral during the medieval period and was used to store corn. The area first appears on a map in 1603 as "Earber-hill".

CHURCHYARD LANE IN DOUGLAS CORK
I am going to provide much information about Douglas over the next few weeks so I will start with demographics.

Because I had booked two years in advance I have managed to spend four days in Cork city and I might visit again in August as I have already booked a room for a week in August. I am going to…

LUAS TRAM STOP AT BROADSTONE AND THE ENTRANCE TO GRANGEGORMAN UNIVERSITY CAMPUS
Broadstone railway station was the Dublin terminus of the Midland Great Western Railway (MGWR), located in the Dublin suburb of Broadstone. The site also contained the MGWR railway works and a steam locomotive motive power depot.
I USED A SIGMA DP1 QUATTRO I am still experimenting with my old Sigma DP1 Quattro and today, 24 April 2023, I photographed in manual mode and underexposed as the camera was inclined to over expose despite any settings that I make. In the “Lotus-Eaters” episode of James Joyce’s Ulysses Bloom imagines that the couple leaving the Grosvenor Hotel are “Off to the country: Broadstone probably,” and…
