From the past (1960), Fotomat locations for drive-through service for getting your camera film developed and printed.

Founded in the 1960s, Fotomat was a chain of photo development drive-through kiosks that were usually located in mall or grocery store parking lots. Fotomat peaked in the 80s, boasting about 4000 kiosks throughout the country at that time. Today, there are a handful left behind. Some have been converted into ATMs, cell phone repair shops or coffee drive-thrus. The rest are abandoned.

this morning i had that experience of being startled by the unexpected presence of another person only to realize that it was my own reflection in a mirror but this time i was alone in the woods shuffling through piles of wet leaves and muddy puddles

yesterday, after i drove her to the farmer's market, my mom and i ate barbacoa tacos we got at a converted fotomat

this afternoon, i ground up and mixed most of three gallons of spices to make dry rub and i have the very specific buzz that comes from inhaling airborne microparticles of exotic spices
