Gun Emplacements, Ft. Casey State Park, Island County, Washington, 2005.
When invasion by sea was a defensive consideration, Ft. Casey was intended to protect the entrance to Puget Sound. It was an active military base until well after WW II. Now the gun emplacements are one of several attractions in a state park which also includes the frequently photographed Admiralty Head Lighthouse and a popular camping area.
