I've been thinking about genres of fanfic I don't normally write, and figured I'd share some angsty fic ideas I've either gotten cold feet on, or accepted that they're not in my capabilities to write. Just some summaries of what the fic plot would have covered. Mainly ikevamp but there is ikepri too.

Unrequited Isaac/Mc - I feel like it's easy to assume Isaac would easily be in unrequited love situations from his side of things, but switching it to Mc actually being the one having unrequited feelings would be interesting, I think!

The plot would have been similar to Isaac's route a smidge, as in how they begin to finally *talk* and Mc generally getting closer, and a friendship forming. Isaac starts to get out of his shell a smidgen, and she even helps him gain the confidence to teach again. All the while her feelings for him keep bubbling forth, until one day when he pulls her aside, flustered and requesting help.

He admits to spending some time after teaching with an acquaintance, and that was the reason why he would be late to return some days. He stumbles over his words a lot, but eventually stutters out that the aquaintance is a woman he believes he has feelings for. Isaac is nearly ashamed to ask, but due to a lack of experience, he was wanting Mc's help with how to approach asking her on a date.

Mc's chest constricts, her breath hardly coming out, but after a moment she finally nods, explaining that she'd be more than happy to help him with this, because what are friends for?

There would be a chunk of the fic with her having to hear Isaac happily going over details about the wonderful date he's went on, and how thankful he is for Mc's help, that he's the happiest he's been in ages.

It could easily branch to Mc getting with someone else in the mansion over this, but all I could imagine was her essentially using them to get over her own feelings, rather than legitimately wanting to be in a relationship with them. And maybe they would know it too!

But the idea hurt too much so I kept everything as notes _(:3」∠)_

Arranged Marriage Clavis/Mc - I won't act like I understand royalty and the politics that come with it since this flavor of fantasy isn't my forte and I don't seek it out, so keep that in mind please. Secondly, I don't hate Chev and this idea is unfair towards him.

It would have been a fic centered around Mc being in an arranged marriage for whatever reason with Chevalier (don't leave yet---). She's unhappy, she doesn't want it, and she's upset with how cold he seems. She's to stay in the palace until the marriage, and she's unfortunately stubborn. Her mind isn't changing about him, and most of her anger towards her family is being (internally) redirected towards him.

Clavis is naturally around Chev a lot, we all know this, and with her being new to the palace, everyone is a bit curious about her. And Clavis....is a huge softie in my mind... so I imagine that once he notices how often she looks so solemn and upset, he prods at her to rise different emotions out of her.

And at first, she thinks he's annoying. She's frustrated and trying to figure out the best case scenarios for staying here, and she has this fool popping up and insisting she try this and that 'food' he's made, or pull her to the gardens to watch one of the other princes fall for a trap he's made. Or, if she's particularly sour about something Chev has said, he joins in on her venting.

But as time goes on, she enjoys his frequent prodding. It's no longer just a distraction, and as much as they bicker, she finds herself missing him when he's too busy to visit.

And, well, it's obvious where it'd spirial to. The two eventually falling victim to their emotions and having a heated 'confession', sneaking around, trying to deny the feelings but not able to stop seeing each other late at night.

I didn't want to attempt it because I'd get so many details about the game's universe wrong firstly, but also it was just mean towards chev _(:3」∠)_ I wanted to cover the fact that he wasn't an asshole, and that he'd do a few things that would make Mc fairly happy.

Then pregnancy scares were considered, but as I thought about it longer, I shriveled up and decided i cannot write for this game and that this would have been the most melodramatic tv soap themed fanfic I'd written and I promptly erased the document notes.

Character Death Arthur/Mc - I actually wrote a good chunk of this one before rereading when I was more awake and realized it made no sense, and put the document away.

This one is more simple, and was a focus on the fact that the vampires would outlive Mc. I don't like Mc going vampireless, but the idea is certainly....a thing...to think about.

The fic itself was going to be shortly after her passing, with Arthur essentially staring at the music box he had given her at the start of their relationship. It's well worn by the time this happens, he knows that the comb doesn't hit all the notes properly, that it skips over a few. The lever is harder to crank, and the paint on the dog figure has rubbed off over time- even with all the repaints she would do.

He'd been unable to sleep that night, just absentmindedly staring at this box, unable to stop himself from thinking about various memories with her- when they married, the surprises he hid in his stories for her, and how giddy she was with them. The arguments they had, the nights he was convinced she'd leave him, the day they realized just how sick she was. All the times they considered turning her, and the way his gut twists wishing he managed to convince her to agree to it, even if it was in the worst of ways, because then she'd still be alive and happy.

I think I was going to have him put her wedding ring inside of the box, and then hide it in his dresser or shelf, due to the fact that every time he looked at it, he felt like throwing up from the onslaught of emotions.

I almost posted this one but chickened out! But the draft really was bad because I wanted to try and show just how disjointed his thoughts were, but it just made the whole fic nonsense.

Reincarnation Au Isaac/Mc - this one wouldn't have been too angsty, and I actually posted the first part (here) of this during 2021's Isaac Week.

I was going to have Mc as a vampire, and Isaac as a human. It was inspired by that one event where the suitors aren't who they are historically, but theyre still vamps and meet time-period appropriate Mc, that had sad as fuck endings.

It would go with Mc spotting him at the cafe one day and eventually gaining a bit of a crush on him, to her finally meeting him, to how they would stumble into a relationship. Hilariously, their first time being together wasn't going to be heavily focused on.

Instead, it was going to be focused on Mc trying to come to terms with letting Isaac die. It was going to be a generic instance of people finding out she's a vampire, Isaac trying to protect her, and failing.

And all the while, as the years go on, she's traumatized over it (naturally). It would cut to modern day, and her spending a lot of time with a witch friend. The friend being very disappointed in Mc's near refusal to properly try and recover. She's gone decades refusing to get too close to anyone else, wears and regularly repairs the gift he'd given her, and she's still overwhelmed with guilt. Her friend has offered to even do the extreme of helping her get rid of the memories, but she's stubborn, and her friend gives the ultimatum that she needs to learn to live again, or else they really would go through with the extreme. (This sounds very silly so this was a strong reason I dropped it)

But during one visit, Mc ends up shakily telling her friend that she ran into him again. (Said friend thinks she's finally gone delusional for a moment). Isaac seems to have no memories of her, and their conversation was strained due to her being in disbelief.

The fic was then going to go the route of the two shakily getting together again, only for Isaac to admit he did remember her after seeing her a few more times, but was upset she didn't seem to remember or refused to get too close to him again, and so he avoided her for a while to try and get his thoughts in order, and if this was a relationship to persue again.

It was going to have a happy ending and focus on Isaac helping her absolve some of the guilt she's had for years. Not too angsty, very angst Lite at the most. I ended up scrapping it due to thinking it wouldn't be interesting for others to read, and that the mc and the friend were very flat.

Recovery Gilbert/Mc (Tw: Self Harm, when the text turns blue then this idea is over with, if you wanna skip it!) - I know jack shit about Gilbert and his personality is hard for me to figure out. I don't think I could write him convincingly even if I wanted to. And with general "i am out of my element" vibes with ikepri, this likely wouldn't be one I'd ever actually write, and in general this wouldn't be a subject I could feel okay posting in depth regardless of the fandom

It's short, but it was essentially a situation set up as it is in Sariel's route- the three visiting princes staying there, yadda yadda.

There isn't much of a lead up to this one as the others, but in short my ikepri Oc regularly hurts herself. I'm not going into specifics with that.

The set up was that Gilbert finds out, and in return for not telling anyone else about it or trying to allude to it in front of others, he wanted to ask questions regarding it (the whys and other questions).

And she hates it. He has the same entertained look as always and she doesn't want to put an ounce of trust in him because it's risky and scary, honestly. But the idea of anyone else finding out makes her heart thump painfully against her ribs, and she quietly agrees.

He ends up tipping her chin to make her look at him, and asks when the last time it happened, with a reminder that he can't stand people lying to him. Bitterly she tells him, and is mildly surprised he doesn't ask anything else. Instead, he comments about meetings in the morning, and how a certain rabbit is in charge of helping the visitors with that, and moves to leave.

But he leaves salve and bandages behind, mentioning that if the wounds were to get infected, she'd get caught by the others quickly.

...the story would be about the very strange ways he'd manage to get her to stop doing it, while she stresses about how truthful he is with any of his intentions and words. It would have dissolved into a strained relationship.

Aside from the stuff I stated, this would be something very hard to write. I know others write this content, and dead dove content, but it seems like such a risky thing for me to write about. For various reasons, but also its scary to think about how it could unintentionally negatively impact people who struggle with it. I know slapping warnings is supposed to be the safety net there, but anxiety is never resonable.

And that's it! Or all I can remember at the moment. It is 5am in my tinezone so my brain is not at 100% right now.

But uh. Yeah, the way these aren't super structured and grossly ooc or too soap opera for me is why I usually just stick to smut and small fluff drabbles.

And I am also a crybaby. That is a major reason.

If you guys wanted to ask qs about them, I wouldn't mind, but if its a critism of how bad they are or how they're ooc, I don't want to hear it.

ABOUT THEM, yesssssssssssss YES YES, literally the exact same here!! Like, I didn't watch LITA, I just scrolled through gifs of the scenes and I searched up their NCs (because I've been an avid BL watcher for years now, and I've heard so many comments on how they were going above and beyond whatever had been done already) when it was still payurain. They didn't interest me at all to make me want to actually watch the show, y'know? but since the very beginning, I was already so drawn to prapaisky I was counting the days for them!!! and when their arc started, that's when I started watching LITA per se, and not just bits and pieces like with payurain. I love what both Boss and Noeul did, I think their portrayal is very cool as well, but it never caught my attention. PrapaiSky stole my entire heart, but probs because they also hit really close to home somehow (with being a SA survivor, etc etc).

It's so lovely to me because I mirror myself so much in Sky?? his whole personality, the way they show him and how he copes (both badly and healthily, because both are constants while healing!!!) with it. And I'll forever defend Prapai (and Fort, for that matter) on how he pursued Sky, because although he might've triggered him at the beginning, he always tried to watch and understand and most of all CHANGE, to make Sky feel comfortable with him.

I love how FortPeat brought that to life. I love their story. I love everything about it, and I believe they've done it wonderfully. I got genuinely invested in them and I can't wait to see so much more!!!!

Peat and Fort are my precious babies I would defend them and Sky and Prapai with my whole life. Prapai is such sla sweetheart. Yes his actions in the beginning were a little questionable but to someone who has no idea about Sky's past he was still the best for Sky. Regressor!Aizawa Headcanons

(with cg!Kayama)

Usually, Shouta is pretty well-behaved while he's regressed. He's just a sleepy little guy most of the time, and even when he does get up to some baby shenanigans they're harmless. The only time he isn't so well-behaved is on one of his migraine days; those days he gets cranky, but Nemuri can't blame him. It's a side effect of overusing his quirk, and if he's been overusing it then it's safe to say he's been overworking himself too and is bound to slip at the first available moment, so she knows when she's about to get a cranky baby drop.

When it inevitably does happen, Nemuri goes through her checklist because this is far from the first time she's dealt with a migraine induced drop with him. She helps him take his migraine medication, and gets him settled up in a quiet, dark room in his nest of blankets. Nemuri also makes sure he's as comfortable as he can possibly be given the circumstances—helps him put on the soft gel eye mask that she keeps in the freezer just for him on days like this, changes him into his softest pajamas, and gets him a bottle ready. Shouta fights her every step of the way, whining and pushing her away, but as soon as she pulls him to her side and gives him his bottle he settles right down.

Though this tends to be a short-lived solution, as he doesn't want to be left alone. The pain behind his eyes and the fact that his vision is partially gone is scary, and he feels like he might toss his cookies at any moment. So even with her using her own quirk to help ease him into a nap, he'll come stumbling out later trying to find her after about an hour. Wherever she is and no matter what she's doing, he comes and tugs on her hand with a whine until she gives in and lets him snuggle up to her on the sofa. And while Nemuri might fuss over him and say he's supposed to be resting in bed, it's clear that she's not-so-secretly a huge softy as she gently plays with his hair instead of hauling him back to bed like she threatened to do.

However, things go a bit differently if Hizashi is also regressed. She's more than capable of caring for them both, but wants to make sure they both feel seen and heard. Nemuri is sure to remind him that they need to be quiet and sweet to Shouta, that he doesn't feel well. And reassures him that if he seems grumpy, it isn't because he's mad at them or anything. Hizashi very much goes into little helper mode when told this, even if he isn't the best at being quiet. He piles all of his and Shouta's combined stuffies and blankets into the middle of Nemuri's living room floor and makes what he declares is the bestest blanket fort ever. And Shouta is inclined to agree—it allows him a comfy safe space to rest while also still feeling like he isn't alone.

While Sushi can almost always be found somewhere near Shouta, he does not leave his side when he picks up on the fact that he's cranky. He presses up against him and purrs, being the best support kitty he can be to try and make him feel better; Sushi has always been one of those cats that picks up on when his people need some TLC. Nemuri can oftentimes tell if Shouta needs something before he can even express what's wrong, because Sushi will start meowing loudly at the smallest sign of distress. So really loud meows typically mean that Nemuri needs to be quick on getting a bucket ready because Shouta's nausea is about to get the best of him.

Nemuri also knows that with the nature of this particular drop, they're looking at at least two days of small time for Shouta, and an extra recovery day if she has anything to say about it. She makes sure to call them both out of work too and offers the excuse that Aizawa has a stomach bug. It's rare for him to take days off, so it isn't really any issue with the people in charge of him; the issue lies with him, specifically making him rest. By day two once his migraine has started to abate somewhat, he's up and trying to function again before he's really ready. She'll watch him pad about the kitchen for awhile, somewhere between small and big, as he insists he's completely fine whenever she offers him help.

And while he pretends everything is all fine and good, it's apparent that he's still cranky as he stomps around and huffs when he can't figure out why the bowls are in the wrong cabinet (they aren't) or can't find where the spoons have gone (he's looking directly at them, but his vision has started to gray out again). The pressure behind his eyes surges and Nemuri can only offer a sympathetic smile as she pulls him into a hug and brushes away his tears. She knows how frustrated he feels and that he can't even properly enjoy regressing right now; Nemuri simply guides him back to the sofa, wrapping him up in his favorite blanket. And until it passes, she'll be right there with him to hold his hand.

I feel bad for having not answered this the day I got it cuz maybe you're in a fluff mood anymore... and I know how it feels to get something when you're in the mood for something else, it low-key kinda sucks X_X

So yes I have briefly mentioned Tai Lung's soft side before, he turns into big somft kitty :D

I feel he'd be up for cuddles if this in terms of a significant other cuz let's face it y'all, he's definitely touch starved. He was in prison for how long? Well idk but he was stuck there for a pretty darn long time

If it's just a friend he'd be more open to like, hugs or smth. Idk. Regardless friend or lover you'd notice he's a lot nicer, less moody, more caring :)

Hizashi:  I bet he’d really appreciate being called funny and hearing you say you enjoy talking to him. He’s not very self-conscious but he knows he can be pretty talkative and goofy, but his end goal is usually to put people at ease and make them laugh. If he succeeds at doing that with you he’ll really appreciate it. You don’t have to say it all the time, in fact, it’s more impactful if you just laugh and smile while you chat with him and then every so often pay him the verbal compliment like ‘you’re one of the funniest people I know, I love talking to you’ or ‘talking to you will always make me feel so much better’. The mushier and more lovey-dovey the better, big grand compliments always go a really long with him. He’s easy to impress as it is, and you usually find yourself doing it with little effort, so if you put a lot of thought into a compliment like that he’ll be so happy to hear it he’ll be totally heart-eyes and over the moon for you and you can expect to get a high number of thankful kisses as soon as what you’ve said processes in his brain. 

Aizawa: He probably welcomes being called strong/competent/capable or being complimented on his teaching abilities. Again, I don’t think he’s self-conscious especially as an adult, but it’s easy to feel like a high schooler again sometimes, especially after incidents like USJ or the training camp, even minor injuries that come to his students while they’re under his care can really weigh on his mind. For a long time, he felt like his quirk needed the assistance of others to be successful and for him to be strong he’d need to also be interdependent. He knows that isn’t true now but it’s nice to hear it. It’s especially nice to hear it from someone who often sees a more vulnerable side of him. Instead of constantly affirming it verbally you can do small things, ask him for help, advice, or pointers, even tiny things like asking him to open a jar make something inside him prickle with pride just slightly. But every so often let him know for real, if he gets a little banged up in a fight sit with him and patch him up, it doesn’t have to be grand just a simple, ‘you’re really strong, your students are probably so proud of you.’ or ‘i’m lucky to have someone like you around to watch out for me. I hope you know I’m always doing the same for you.’ He’ll appreciate it more than he can really say. 

Toshinori: He loves hearing about how you enjoy his company, and how you feel good around him. You could say it every other day and he wouldn’t get tired of it and it wouldn’t lack meaning. He loves that he makes you happy, sometimes it’s all he wants to do. I think unlike the two above he can be self-conscious sometimes, in his brain he separates himself from All Might, and at first, he was worried no one would have any use for Yagi Toshinori if there wasn’t even a tiny chance that All Might would make an appearance. To hear you say even indirectly that you’d never considered him and All Might different people in the first place will really put him at ease. He worries that he can be a drag sometimes, especially with his health, he can’t always be as energetic as you and he hates that idea that you’d ever feel weighed down by him. Reassure him by saying how much you enjoy doing literally anything with him, exploring a museum to sitting on the couch watching a movie, or cuddling up to him and taking a nap while he reads a book, they’re all worthwhile and fun to you just because he’s there. Thank him for always being able to put your feet on the ground, tell him he’s a relaxing presence for you, that he can always calm you down and make you feel good, he’ll be so happy he won’t know how to respond. 

Kugo: Say that he’s gentle/kind/sweet, he’ll be really thankful to hear it. He worries that people think he’s brutish, he’s huge and strong, and does have a certain image in the media. He doesn’t hate it, he likes his brand and he thinks it’s an easy part to play because it fits him so well. That being said he hates the idea of people thinking he’s brutish or unkind. He’s a hero he wants to protect people and take care of them, if you’re wary of letting him handle something delicate or underestimate his ability to do intricate tasks it’ll seriously hurt his feelings, even just teasing. That being said a really constructive way to tease him if you’re into that sort of affection would definitely be by calling him a big ol softie, laugh at how gently he puts a glass down and call him a big baby, when he nuzzles into your neck pat his back extra hard and call him your enormous sweetheart. Sometimes too many genuine compliments about his demeanor can come off more as you feeling bad for him, that’s not the case at all but his brain tells him otherwise, so by poking a little well-intended fun at him you get the message across without seeming patronizing. That being said you can still pay him a genuinely sweet compliment, especially after sex, he worries so much about hurting you even just cuddling into his side and saying something curt like ‘you’re so sweet all the time, you always know exactly what to do’ Will just make his heart swell with pride. 

Sekijiro: He’s such a caretaker, even if he can be a little rough ‘n tumble / tough love sometimes he really loves taking care of people and being relied on as a solid constant. He’s not a hero just for the fighting, he doesn’t mind being told to stay back and hold down the fort, protect civilians, he loves the fact that he was trusted with such an important job, he doesn’t just wanna put away bad guys he wants to take care of the people caught in the crossfire. Of course, that extends to his private life too. Any sort of compliment about relying on him, being taken care of by him, or being happy to have him around makes him really grateful. He does not mind if you get all mushy and lovey-dovey with him while you say it. He really isn’t very self-conscious at all, he thinks he got pretty lucky being so physically strong while also having a fairly useful and powerful quirk and that adoration of his students, but that in mind it’s always nice to get a sweet compliment from the person you love so don’t wait for him to look a little down, say it when it comes to mind and he’ll be delighted to hear it. But he also feels it when you go to him for comfort, seek out his company and even just by asking him for hugs/kisses. Say something like ‘I’m so glad to have someone like you taking care of me when I need it, thanks for being strong when I can’t, it feels good to know you’ll always be there for me.” And he might tear up. also likes being called cool/handsome/rugged

1 YEAR WITH PRAPAISKY / FORTPEAT

My first post about Love in the Air was published on 1 September 2022, where I started speculating on what the Prapaisky storyline may have in store. But it was really when I shared my first meta 'Love in the Air: Sky’s Desire to be Loved' that I realised just how many others were invested in the Sky/Prapai story.

LITA was the first thai BL series that was on my radar before it aired, that I avidly followed during it's weekly release, and then far beyond. In those very early days, there were probably less than a dozen of us posting about Prapaisky here. And once LITA finally did start, it quickly dawned on us that the Prapaisky episodes wouldn't begin until the second half. The sound of crickets and the occasional sighting of tumbleweed would continue before we got some substantial content to feast over. Let me tell you, the wait was trying. Fast forward to just over a year later, and it's absolutely incredible to see how much this show and pairing has blown up since then.

I'm extremely grateful for how much joy both my mutuals and followers have brought me throughout this fandom. Even if this blog does shift to other shows or pairings, this couple will always have a particularly special place in my heart.

How did I come across LITA, was it love at first sight?

I happened upon the trailer, and these two immediately caught my attention. Sky entranced me with his big doe eyes, much like how Prapai was drawn to him that fateful night at the race track. I swiftly fell in the love and the rest is history.

What do I love about Prapaisky?

There's something I find very compelling but also comforting about the Prapaisky relationship. A story is more likely to stick with me when there is really poignant character development - something that can be found in both Sky and Prapai. Their relationship is a healthy union that makes them both better people. Prapai is humbled by Sky's love, and Sky is empowered by Prapai's.

Favourite Prapaisky scene?

I think the episodes I have rewatched the most are probably Episode 10 and Episode 13. But just to mention some of the scenes which I find most memorable: Sky holding back tears after his one night stand, Prapai coaxing a feverish Sky during a nightmare, Sky falling asleep in Prapai's arms during Last Cheer, Prapai's imaginary kiss whilst Sky is sleepy, Prapai's utter devastation when Sky breaks up with him over the phone, Sky's affectionate back hug when Prapai comes to him, Prapai begging Sky to cry, Sky wiping away Prapai's tears.

What do I love about Fortpeat?

My favourite aspect of this partnership is Fort being a hugely affectionate and clingy person, whilst Peat is smothered by his love. Peat tends to be the more quiet and measured one within the LITA foursome (probably due to being the oldest) but Fort brings out his inner child. I still can't get over the fact Fort calls him 'baby' because he acts like one when he's with him. You wouldn't have known this in the early days when Peat was considerably more reserved. Fort comes across as an unfiltered, energetic, massive softie. Peat is the grounded, silent assassin of a tease who is unapologetically himself.

The future of Fortpeat?

I desperately hope these two get a new series as a couple. LITA really put them both on the map, and I'd be incredibly shocked if they don't get cast in something new, considering their enormous popularity now. But please, please give them a decent script. We know what they're capable of and I want to see their talent given the material it deserves.

Cryptid stuff 

I’m working on a story idea with these guys.

Basically, they all live togedher in a big cabin in the woods. 

- Flatwoods is a girl here and she’s the bubbly mom friend of the group. She’s good at tinkering and is obsessed with romantic tv shows and movies. She was the one who fixed the tv they found thrown out.  

-Mothman is mysterious and shy and spends the daylight hours in his attick bedroom in burrowed into his pillow fort, which he sleeps in insted of a bed. At night he loves to take midnight flights.

- Jersey Devil is the misunderstood grumpy guy. His favorite spot is the couch in the living room or one of the higher branches of a very huge tree next to the cabin. He doesn’t have a room of his own, because according to his own words he’s not used to all this domestic life garbage. He often uses sarcasm to hide his insecurities and gets agitated when his past is mentioned. 

-Grey is the most recent addition to the household. She came across the cabin after escaping from a government facility. She’s usually quiet and easily flustered. She’s facinated by cute things and has a huge collection of plushies and cute socks/stockings.

-Bigfoot is a big softie. He’s very gentle and kind and was the first to discover and restore the cabin. When the others appeared he was happy to take them in and keep them safe. With sufficient clothing he’s the least noticable, so he’s the one who goes out for supplies. 

-Spikey the Chupacabra is the beloved pet of the house, except for Jersey, because Spikey keeps trying to suck his blood. Otherwise he’s a very cute pupper. Great at keeping away pests as well. 

-Dennis and his little brother Terry, are Fresno Nightcrawlers who occasionally stop by at the cabin to hang out. They are just cute lil dudes.

when he’s done with after school practice at around 5pm he has the night shift at the shop till 8pm

so really the only “Us Time” you can get with him is late at night and weekend afternoons when he only has the morning shift at the shop

and usually by the time he finally comes home on weekdays he’s worn out to the bone

both physically and mentally

and you try your best to lessen the burden on him

sometimes you turn off his morning alarm to allow to rest.

you call old man ukai and tell him keishin’s too exhausted to come help in the farm so he’ll have to excuse him

old man ukai grunts and agrees because he highkey has a soft spot for you

sometimes on your days off from work you handle the opening of the shop as well in order to let him rest some more

and god keishin is forever thankful for you

for everything that you do for him and for all the times you’ve put up with his crazy work schedule

cuz he knows you’re more than capable of getting you someone with regular fixed work hours who can spend more time with you rather than crash in bed when they finally come home

keishin knows his shortcomings

he’s painfully aware of them

but everytime he expects you to get tired of him to get tired of how busy and absent he often is

you instead do stuff like help him in the shop or always prepare some fruit snacks the night before that he can take with him when he leaves the house at 4am

every single action you do to help him he stores in his mind and thanks his lucky stars he found someone as wonderful as you

he’s glad you all like each other

now back to point of keishin being possessive

he’s not over bearing or controlling or anything like that

he’s just Highly Aware of how handsome you are and how you have a great personality and how overall desirable you are

so he tends to tense up a bit when someone shows interest in you

which is a totally normal thing if you ask him

so when you’re outside together and he sees someone eyeing you or something like that he will simply send them a silent message that you’re taken

and he does that but putting his arm low on your waist and talking cheekily to you very close to your ear and kissing your cheek

basically displaying “He’s Mine So Back Off”

and you know his intentions everytime he suddenly gets this handsy out in public but it’s not like you’re gonna stop him

you know that, at the end of it all, keishin trusts you to death and he’s just doing this to avoid people creating an awkward situation

honestly speedwagon is a super softie at heart, even though he used to pride himself in being tough and intimidating

when it comes to his s/o, he absolutely loves learning more about them whenever he can. he always wants to hear stories about their childhood, or the thoughts that they have on certain topics

so on a cold day where he and his s/o had to stay in, he would love to do an activity that would give them plenty of time to talk! and a board or card game seems like a great option

there’s something about hearing his s/o talk that speedwagon just adores especially. he isn’t too proud of his past, but hearing about his partner’s makes him feel at peace

and thinking about the future the two will hold makes him overjoyed!

speedwagon would probably let his s/o win the game purposefully, but only because he loves them so much

and it’s something he knew jonathan would do

okay so yeah, kakyoin and his s/o would totally dedicate a really cold day to video games

he would be over the moon having them next to him while he plays

it would be so sweet! kakyoin doing what he does best but with an arm wrapped around his s/o, keeping them beside him so that they can both keep warm 🥺

or if they both wanted to play, they would sit underneath a heavy blanket so that they wouldn’t grow too cold!

if video gaming became tiresome, though, kakyoin would also love laying with his s/o and reading

overall, he would love to relax with them by doing the usual activities that they engaged in... just with more blankets than usual

additionally if it was snowing outside, kakyoin would love to go outside and play in it with his s/o (if they didn’t mind, of course)

avdol is a man of many hidden talents, and one of those just happens to be cooking

so on a day where it’s a bit too cold for he and his s/o to carry out their original plans, they would head to the kitchen and make food together!

it would be such a great idea too. they would cook a nice hot meal to warm themselves up

just him and his s/o standing in the kitchen, basking in the faint warm glow of the fireplace 🧡

additionally, maybe avdol would find a way to use magician’s red to heat up their house. nothing too extreme though, as he doesn’t want a fire to start!

at the end of the day, he’s glad he has a stand that is able to assist with times such as these

Jack McSpringheel is a trope break. or maybe more accurately, an archetype break.

in fiction there's this very prevalent character type that's essentially "cocky dude with snarky attitude who's actually a huge softie and is using a confident persona to hide insecurities" and I'm not complaining about it bc there's a reason it's such a popular trope, but it's very interesting to see (hear, whatever) a character who fits that box but just... slightly to the left.

because the thing that strikes me most about Jack is that he's cocky and sassy, he's also a softie in his own way (that scene in Curse of Fenman my beloved), but he's NOT insecure. at all. he's actually very confident and is the only one of the Legion fam who didn't have much of an existential crisis over the mess the Epoch and Avril had each pulled with their memories/lives -- even in the first stories we hear him in, Benny and Ruth are both trying so hard to figure everything out and put all the pieces together, but Jack is just "yeah so, this is happening. i'd like to do something about it." and he's honestly very chill about the whole thing.

basically, even with all this stuff going on, he seems really confident in his identity (to the point that he's the one to reassure Ruth about hers in Curse of Fenman; yeah, i know, that was partly Gary Russell being Gary Russell but also it's a really interesting characterization moment for both of them) and it's really cool.

(additionally, the theme of identity forms the centerpiece to the entire Legion arc and I kinda love it lol)

also, re: my previous post about Jack being the backbone of the Legion fam, i say that bc of some conversations had with @fortes-fortuna-iogurtum where we were talking about the tensions and individual relationships between the whole group, bc they're dysfunctional as heck for a good long while. everybody has this tension between them: bennybrax because of timeline shenanigans, Peter's just generally closed off to everyone (except Brax, oddly enough, which is an entire other essay, but basically he's a lot less hostile to Brax than he is literally everyone else), we never really hear Brax and Ruth directly interact but i get the impression she's slightly unsure about him?, and all of it means that as a collective group, it's just.... A Hot Mess.

but. i find this really interesting and also slightly hilarious. everybody gets along with Jack (for the most part). and it's 100% because of his dumb, cocky personality. he's literally THEE most non-judgemental character i've ever come across and because he seems very flippant -- while also noticeably caring about his friends despite that -- it sets everybody at ease.

he's not scared off or hurt or offended by how prickly Peter is and i feel like Peter (begrudgingly) respects that on some level -- they actually work REALLY WELL together and we love to hear it

actually HMS Surprise is a really good story where it comes to the characters (oh, huh, i just looked and it's written by Alexander Vlahos. neat) and i love how much it goes to show that Jack's attitude is Not a mask in any way, because he makes no attempt to hide it when he's freaked out. he's actually very genuine, which is another reason he's oddly disarming. (he's lowkey like Narvin where you're like "this is not the type of person i would expect to trust with my deepest secrets but somehow i do??")

also he's kinda the exact type of person Brax needed at his point in his arc bc he's just been yeeted from everything he knows by the alt!Burner and is just trying to build a new life for himself/his new partly accidental family?? and Jack is just like "cool i really don't care abt your scary past or anything i'm gonna throw mad shade on you for ridiculously petty things anyway *proceeds to fall down stairs*" and yeah his rapport with Brax is the funniest thing but also adorable bc my angsty Time Lord garbage fire has a Friend™ (and also it's hilarious. why do i feel like this is how EoG!Brax got treated by the Deca all the time)

and then, i mean Benny acts constantly annoyed at him but i think she really just likes having someone to talk crap about and with XD also back to HMS Surprise, bc if you couldn't tell i heckin love that audio, they actually do care about each other, it's just in that very sibling-y bicker-y way.

TL;DR when i say "Jack is the backbone of this family" what i mean is that because everybody individually has a fairly healthy relationship with him that doesn't necessarily involve or require any of the others, he becomes the centerpoint of the group and almost in a way holds them all together just by virtue of being a nice dude with a fun personality.

and when i say "Jack is a trope break" i just mean that it's really nice and refreshing to have a character with That Specific Peronality Type who's not actually angsty or burying hidden insecurities or w/e (*side-eyes Lance from Voltron Legendary Defender*). and again, to clarify: i don't have any issue with those kind of characters, but sometimes it's a bit too predictable?

in conclusion- *holds up Jack* I just think he's neat :)
