Mairon eyed him defiantly.

“Was it not? Tell me, Eönwë, has it never troubled you to be naught but a glorified thrall? Forbidden to weave your dreams into a tapestry of your own vision? Forever bound to blind obeisance or else be deemed unworthy?”

The Herald was horrified at the falsehood of the image reflected in the twisted mirror of the other Maia’s mind.

“I trust Lord Manwë’s wisdom,” he said gravely. “It is an honour to serve him. You speak of remorse, brother, and yet your words reek with Morgoth’s lies.”

I'm jealous of your phone,

And how it gets held, how it sees your face first thing every morning.

I'm jealous of your bed, how it holds your body - the sheets that entangle you.

I'm jealous of your dog and how he gets to cuddle you.

I'm jealous of your toilet seat as it gets more action.

I'm jealous of your toothbrush, and all the things you do with it.

I'm jealous of the water that washes over your bare skin in the shower and the soap that lathers upon you.

I'm jealous of every doorknob you touch as it gets to hold your hand.

I'm jealous of the mug you use and how the rim gets to touch your lips, how the side gets licked when a drip gets away from you.

I'm jealous of your floor and walls, oh how I wish to be fly.

I'm jealous of the buttons you press and the edge of your kitchen counter.

I'm jealous of the cashier that tells you to have a nice day, as they get to hear your voice.

I'm jealous of your car because you're inside of it and not me.

I'm jealous of the food you consume, how I long to be your mouthful.

I'm jealous of the sweaters you choose as they get to hug you.

I'm jealous...

I'm jealous for I long to trade places with these things - just to be near you.

Longing Clip Studio Paint Pro - 1.5 hours

In working on all of my character work for a sci-fi RP I've joined, I've been infected with the space drama feels and I had a desire to play with composition this evening. So I whipped this fairly quick doodle up and really pushed myself to embrace "less is more". The focus here is Sorochi (my character for the RP) watching her most recent opportunity for connection and freedom from stagnation slip away because of her tendency towards self-sabotage. She believes she's stuck, when really the only one holding her leash is herself.

I think this is a good send off for the year! 2024 has been a hell of a year of improvement for me as an artist and I can't wait to buckle down on our projects in 2025!
