My Predictions for Helluva Boss

Alright, guys, not gonna lie... I'm tired from HB! Protagonist-centered morality, favoritism, lack of stakes, Stolass' endless woobification, etc... It has become too much for me. Thus I've gave up any hopes for the writing improvement and refused to watch the show in the long run.

But!

This won't stop me from analysing the previous episodes that I've already watched. Furthermore, I wanna make a few predictions about what's going to happen in the next two seasons (unless those will be cancelled). Perhaps I'll repeat some of the points other critics had already made. So I'm sorry in advance for this, mates.

None of the main cast is dead. The plot armor is too strong. Especially for Stolass. I mean, do you genuinely believe that Viv would kill her precious sad bean?! Bitch, please! 🤗

All/most of the antagonists are dead. The only exception I can think about is Cherubs. They're just too unthreatening to bother about. Prolly the D.H.O.R.K.S are dead but reborn in Hell and Idk if that counts or not 💀⚰️

If the rumors about one of the Deadly Sins' upcoming death are true then it's going to be Mammon. No other options 💸 (Btw I saw a fan theory about Blitzø killing Mammon and taking his place... Well, considering how poorly Viv handles the class problem I wouldn't be surprised if that came true)

F!zzarozz!e get married (S3) 💞 - 100% probability

Stol!tzø get married (S4, finale) 💞 - 100% probability

M&M became parents. Honestly I thought they'll save it for the end but after Sinsmas... Yeah. Anyway the truth about Millie's pregnancy is revealed (nearly to the middle of S3), she gives a birth for pro-lifers' delight and takes maternity leave becoming a background character. The child prolly is a boy and gets a better development than his mother. Apparently he's named Blitzø Junior or smth like that 👨‍👩‍👧

F!zzarozz!e & Stol!tzø double date💕

Moxxie's insecurity issue is showed at least once at the season. Now he isn't sure about himself being a good father/protector/role model for his son 💪

Loona shows her human disguise at least once at the season. Doesn't really matter if there's no logical reason for that 🐺➡️👩

I.M.P. continue murdering people and not giving a fuck about morality (Sinsmas was the only act of mercy) OR they leave the business and fully go for Stol!tz soap opera (not like they haven't done that already- but hey! there's always room for degradation, right?) 📉

Stolass succeeds at the dime novels writing 📜✍️

Carnal hyper-sensual coitus between Stolass and Blitzø appears on-screen. Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember Viv expressed her desire to animate an intimacy act, so I have zero doubts these two are involved. It can't be anyone but them 🤢

Octavia forgives Stolass the moment she finds out about Stella's abusive nature. And since Stella's confirmed as a "stupid cow" the truth's revealed in the dumbest way possible. I wouldn't be surprised if Stella spilled the beans by herself 🤦‍♀️

Blitzø boosts his connection with Stolass the moment he finds out about Stella's abusive nature. After all we've got a sex out of pity, so why wouldn't we got a love out of pity as well? 🤡

Possibly Striker/Stella had been a thing at a certain time. Why? Because ✨fanservice✨ of course! And yes, it's going to be as dull, flat and out of nowhere as Cherr!snake. Or maybe worse 🙁

Stella's backstory turns out like the "she was born evil so don't you dare to sympathise with her" full edition. There is no valid motivation, no intriguing conflicts, no nuances - none of that. There is only Stolass' woobification arc. So this backstory isn't about Stella. It's revolved mainly around Stolass, maybe around Andrealphus or Vassago at the least. Granted that Stella ever had a chance to receive a decent backstory for herself Vivienne would've thrown it away right in the next episode without mentioning it ever again 😭

Actually Mammon can't play the guitar 🎸 He's just too dumb and untalented for this (according to Vivienne). Don't expect an epic villain song from him. I'd be happy to be wrong about this one but my hopes are dead

Stolass' in drag. Just no comments 💄👠

Love triangle between Stolass, Blitzø and Vassago. At one point, Stolass leaves Blitzø because he doesn't satisfy his wet dreams well enough. Vassago and Stolass have complete mutual understanding and the idyll but Stolass feels smth isn't right. Smth is missing, smth like… Meanwhile Blitzø suffers and seeks Stolass' mercy. Eventually Stolass comes back to Blitzø because 💖 ~ they belong together ~ 💖

Perhaps after the breakup between Stolass and Vassago the latter will get together with Andrealphus 💘

Millie & Moxxie or Fizz & Ozzie giving romantic advices to Blitzø / helping him improve the relationship with Stolass 💝

Barbie Wire forgives Blitzø in her next appearance and then moves away from the plot without a trace 💨

Sapphic bait 💗 Verosika/Barbie Wire? Barbie Wire/Sallie May? Sallie May/Verosika? All of them together? I don't know! But I do know Viv would rather escape from being accused of wlw underrepresentation. Since she has promised S3 is going to be "a queer roller coaster" she would need to dilute her sausage party a bit. And of course the lesbian ship (whichever it would be) is poorly developed.

New unnecessary characters for celebrity VA's ⭐

Stolass was kidnapped... again?! Yes, Striker abducted him before but... Why wouldn't do this one more time? After all the stans love presenting Viv's auto-plagiarism as meaningful "symbolic parallels". Besides kidnapping is one of the most beloved tropes in fanfiction. And HB is an animated fanfic for sure ⛓

More shitty dads/exes? Because Viv adores reusing the same tropes over and over again 💩

"Positive" characters keep being justified and woobified infinitely 😇 while villains are losing all their charisma and braincells from episode to episode 😈

Nobody will ever remember that Stolass harassed Blitzø 🙈

Nobody will ever remember that Ozzie allows succubi to enter the mortal realm and seduce humans by hypnotic songs (which doesn't sound pro-consent, does it, Mr. Lust-Is-Not-About-Force?) 🙉

Nobody will ever remember that Queen Bee runs shelters (which are essentially slave trade hellholes) in terrible conditions 🙊

Stolass' "depression" is brought up occasionally as a reason to justify and pity him. Stolass' immediately healed by Stella's death. Right after that the depression has disappeared completely. Therapy sessions aren't required. Even if the therapy is shown then only as a lame joke 🌧

Stolass brings his powers back because he's out... for LOOOOoOHoOOOHoOOVE!!! 💓💃🏻

Stolass gets everything he ever wanted without any efforts and self-improvement. Because he's good enough already and everyone who disagree is just stupid and mean 🏆

Nostalgia

I look down at you, and I see you.

So small. So fragile. So innocent.

You look back up at me, with that all-too-familiar childlike wonder.

We’ve always been too curious for our own good. Nosy, as our parents may say.

You show me an old toy. A stuffed bunny that we’ve had since infanthood.

You give me a toothy grin, and all at once I feel these feelings rush back to me.

I pull you in for a hug, wrapping my arms protectively around you.

You seem confused, but I know all too much.

How I wish I can protect you from the person you’ll become.

How I wish we could’ve kept that childlike innocence forever.

You want to grow up so badly, to be free from the cages of childhood.

But I want nothing more than to keep you away from the horrors of growing up.

This was something I wrote for my creative writing class. The assignment was to write something with the themes of Nostalgia and Reminiscing. I chose to go with my personal views on the feeling itself.

In the artwork, you can see present day me holding onto a much younger version of myself. I purposely used two different brushes to show the difference between me as a child back then, and me now.

The child was drawn with a thick, smooth brush, and the lineart is roughly an eggplant purple. Her hair, while still wild, isn't exactly messy. The background of different colors is a representation of their child-like innocence. Noticably, there's no eye bags underneath her eyes. Not because of a perfect sleep schedule 💀 I never had that even when I was a child. The lack of eyebags represents more so her mentality, and how innocent she is to the world still. Same with the stars and shine in her eyes. She's curious about the world, eyes literally filled with wonder. She doesn't understand why her older counterpart is hugging her, because she's unaware of the horrors of the real world.

Older me is much different. The brush I chose for them is rough, and it's messy, with the lineart nearly black. Their hair is noticeably much more messed up than the child. There's a dark aura surrounding them, a completely different contrast to the colorful background to make them stand out. There's no shine in their eyes anymore, replaced instead with an X, heavy bags settling underneath. They're tired, so so tired. They've seen so much, and yet so little at the same time. Their mentality is barely hanging in there anymore. They wish things could be simpler again, no longer wanting to learn about the world. They've seen how cruel it is, how cruel people are. They've become overly anxious, exhausted, maybe even bitter.They hug the child because they don't want her to become what they are.

Nostalgia to me has always felt bittersweet. I love looking back on the good memories, thinking back to a time when things were much simpler, and I could be free. But it also makes me angry and bitter, because it's something deep down I feel I'm never going to feel again. I get envious of my past self for being happy in such an unforgiving world, for being so open to making mistakes about everything when I can barely forgive myself for the stupidest and smallest things.

I was happy for exactly 5 seconds that Flipclaw was Myrtlebloom’s mate instead of Shellfur before I realized that they’re also first cousins, which makes Flipclaw much more closely related to Myrtlebloom than Shellfur was.

I’m learning to just shake my head and look away when the authors shove more cousin-couples into the series because at this point, they’re either ignorant to this or straight up just don’t care due to how many cats in ThunderClan specifically are descended from Flashnose and Daisytoe, but goodness gracious lol. I see that that’s another awkward talk for Fernsong and Sorrelstripe when discussing their grandkits. (It’s honestly insane that they share two sets of grandchildren.)

I predicted that Flutterfoot is the father of Appleshine’s kits so hooray!! I’m a tad bit let down that Silkypaw and Fluffpaw aren’t Heathertail and Breezepelt’s sons, but with their pelt coloration, it’s a lot more fitting that they’re Sedgewhisker and Emberfoot’s babies.

I’m most excited about Redpaw and Sprucepaw being Tigerstar and Dovewing’s grandkits via Pouncestep. She’s one of my favorite background characters, so I’m happy that her story has evolved in a seemingly positive direction.

The only thing that perplexes me honestly, is why there are no cross-Clan couples among any of these new kits. I wasn’t expecting there to be this crazy increase of cross-Clan couples since for the most part, the majority of the older warriors seem to still be a bit more on the conservative side, but it would’ve been nice to see!

The MyrtleFlip kids are exactly as as inbred as Moonpaw is, can’t wait for the Erins to eventually pair Moonpaw and Sunkit up 💀

I think cousins that are a bit more distant are forgivable given how small the gene pool is anyway but they keep putting first cousins together it’s insane, are they making a statement, are they trolling us, or do they really not look at the family trees when pairing up cats?

I’m glad Flutterfoot is the father of Appleshine’s kits, mainly because I already had added it to my own family tree that I use because I was so sure he was the father, and I didn’t want to have to change it lol.

Maybe with Silkypaw and Fluffpaw they inherited some RiverClan genes from Sedgewhisker’s RiverClan father Beechfur, not that these Erins remember the random canonisation of BeechGorse but it’s a fun headcanon regardless.

Pouncestep seems to be absolutely thriving as a background character, good for her lol

The lack of cross clan couples baffles me, like not even one? The gene pool is becoming narrower and narrower, it would have been easy to replace any of the newly revealed dads with another tom or have ShellFern have kits instead of MyrtleFlip, or even just given Myrtlebloom Wafflepelt or Stormcloud as a mate or something.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

anger, definitely. She doesn't know how to deal with situations that make her properly, extremely angry, like those ones where it's bubbling rage at a situation you didn't see coming. It's because she's so used to being able to step back from things, is naturally low-empathy, that when things hit she can't regulate -- it's rare that her anger will surface, but when it does, it's explosive and shocking to those around her. She's the type to yell, much louder and much deeper than you expect.

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

Her greatest wish is very simple -- she wants to live simply, and contentedly, without needed to stress about where a next meal is coming from. She wants to have people in her life who aren't draining, who help her recharge when they're around, and the ability to engage in her hobbies and crafts and just be.

🌋 VOLCANO - how bad is their temper? is it a slow boil, or a instant explosion?

ooo callback to the first question this early, huh? asdfgghfjd. Sorry to have to reiterate some of that one, but yeah her temper is very slow to boil. It's frustrating for others, not that they would try to rile her up or anything, but them getting into arguments with her they would get frustrated with her lack of reaction. In the same vein, she is very much 'it is what it is' about situations, which frustrates people when they want her to demand better for herself.

🙊 SPEAK-NO-EVIL - what is something your oc will refuse to stay quiet about?

Interesting thing about Bronagh is that, well, she's kind of a snake. which sounds so bad but... it isn't out of malice? By 'kind of a snake' I mean that she will blend into the background and observe, rather than speak out. She won't agree with things that she doesn't believe in, but she will go with the flow -- she isn't in the habit of making life more difficult for herself by drawing attention to herself. She is very much a wait and watch and listen type of person.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Bronagh is very personal because she's the first oc who is explicitly autistic, where I'm purposefully exploring like, my own experience, and how going so long without having words or explanation for it made me feel so outside of the normal human experience. Tie that in with the lore of NDM, the fae world, those ideas of changeling children (mostly that thread I see a lot on here about like, god what's the phrasing? kid's odd but damn is he good with the sheep? that kind of thing). It's also a stressful thing, because I never want to imply that my experience being autistic is the only one, or that these stereotypes aren't ever harmful... damn this got too deep sorry 💀But really Bronagh is a wish fullfilment of.... being different in a way that's so obvious to everyone around you but not yourself for so long, and then falling into a world where your oddness isn't ostracizing anymore, man I don't even know where I'm going with this anymore sorry NDM I have lost the plot

✂️ SCISSORS - what is the "last straw" for them to cut someone out of their life? how easily do they let go of people?

Disrespect. Not rudeness, or hurtful comments off the cuff, but blatant disrespect with no remorse. She will forgive cruel comments if someone is honest with their apology, she will forgive most things actually, but she will never forget. And when it is clear that the pattern emerging is disregard for her as a person? Bam, you're done. Though it's hard to describe because it relies so much on the individual relationship.

🎁 PRESENT - what types of presents would they be most happy to receive? are they good at gift giving?

Bronagh likes things that you like, if you give her anything at all, with the inspiration that 'this made me think of you' or 'this thing is so cool i thought you might think so too', she'll appreciate it, but gifts she love would be entirely practical ones. She loves functional things. In the same way, she's much too logical with her own gift-giving -- you are getting socks, you are getting a replacement stapler, you are getting a tea cozy because yours is stained.

💧 DROPLET - random angst headcanon

I'm not sure about the famine timeline, like for accuracies sake, but I know it started in 1845 when NDM is set. So I don't know if things would be dire enough for this action yet. But I'm seeing Bronagh having to kill the family's second horse so they can eat. Imagine it was an old nag and one that had been with the family for so long, and her father is away for longer than anticipated and her mother can't do it because it was her horse as a teen.

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon

she's very adept at sewing, knitting, mending, and lacemaking - she loves working with her hands. two soft ideas revolve around this. One, Shae notices love of this kind of work and teaches her woodworking. Two, her doing very delicate and artful braids in other peoples' hair as a gentle and quiet bonding experience.

🍼 BABY BOTTLE - what are their thoughts on children?

Indifferent. she always figured at some point she would have them, because at some point she would get married, because that's what you do. But when her family didn't push even as she got older, she stopped looking to that kind of future. the only thing about kids is the assumption that pregnancy is necessary, and she knows to much about the process of childbirth to want to go through with that if it's not required. She likes kids well enough, and is surprisingly good with them even though she doesn't think so. Kids like that she treats them just like she treats other people, though she can be too blunt.

🔥 FIRE - do they have any self destructive tendencies? what habits do they have that hinder them from becoming their best self?

Bronagh doesn't like to be told that she doesn't know what's best for herself, even if she's honestly putting herself in a dangerous scenario. If you try to tell her what to do and don't let her negotiate, she will dig her heels in. even in the event that she logically knows you're right, she will continue with whatever she is doing to spite you, no matter if it's at her own expense.

🌠 SHOOTING STAR - if they could make any wish with no repercussions, what wish would they make?

she would wish to be able to learn whatever she wanted to learn. not book or school studying, but the time and opportunity to explore whatever niche things catch her interest and to never run out of that time or opportunity. to have someone to share in her curiosity would be a bonus.

☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right?

People assume she's not very smart, because she doesn't go out of her way to speak to people and isn't so much careful with her words as she doesn't fill space if she doesn't have anything she wants to say. they're wrong. people also assume she's fair because she acts so objective, and they're wrong about that too.

💓 BEATING HEART - what gets their heart racing?

close proximity, slow smiles, she's very attracted to voices. someone giving her their full attention can either get her heart racing in a good way or a bad way, depending on her opinion of them - either it's riveting, or it feels like an attack. a lover touching her neck, definitely.

💘 HEART W/ ARROW - what traits do they look for in a relationship? do they believe in love at first sight?

Bronagh wants someone who is steady, someone who can enjoy shared silence. She wants someone who is smart, either cleverness or wittiness or a quieter type of practical smarts, and likes her dry sense of humour. Somebody who isn't over the top. More than anything, she wants someone who is trustworthy to her even if they aren't to anybody else - not that she wants to be the centre of their world, but she wants honesty before anything else, even if that honesty hurts.

💗 GROWING HEART - if they have a crush, is it noticable? what changes when they're in love?

Her crush would be a little noticeable from the outside, but less so to the person she's crushing on because she wouldn't change anything drastic about her behaviour towards them. She would look at them more, not exactly longingly but almost 'i want to study you like a bug' energy. she would spend more time with them, but in the almost sly way of being available whenever they happen to be around, she always makes it seem natural to be in their presence because hey, it's a coincidence.

❤️ RED HEART - their love language(s)?

Bronagh's love language is acts of service. She wants to help, to be of use, but more than that she wants to share in the struggles of those she loves and help lighten the load of them. She also likes being able to give people things that help them -- sort of gift giving, sort of not. As for the love language that is given to her (idk how to phrase this), she appreciates most being listened to and trusted, and the offer of lightening her burdens as well.

💙 BLUE HEART - do they miss their s/o easily? how do they act when their s/o isn't around?

She's not the type to feel like, gaping loneliness or the missing of somebody if she knows she's going to see them again, if they can exchange letters, etc. But if there's no way of contact, she would be very wistful about it, she would see things they would like and think of them, she would imagine what they would say. Like, she's a very independent person and likes her alone time, so she wouldn't miss them easily. To her, physical proximity doesn't affect love - she loves you and knows you love her whether you're sitting next to her or you're the next country over. She is secure in that, and can be happy with separation and doing her own thing.

4.) who is your least favorite doctor? why?

i think no one will be surprised with this one, probably thirteen, for a multitude of reasons mostly due to the awful writing. i don’t connect with them at all and unfortunately they have not grown on me over time. one of my big grievances with them is the complete lack of relationship between them and the companions (which is a big influence on how i rate doctors - i think five suffers from this as well) i could forgive bad writing/ stories a lot more if the i was invested in the characters and unfortunately this era scores zero on both accounts. also the inconsistent morality is hard to watch as well.

5.) any complaints about the show?

a big question without going into specifics. like every fan, i have many, blanket complaint this era, goes without saying 😅. i can critique/ complain about any era so i’ll (try) be fair and give some for each.

classic who (i know there are different eras within classic but for simplicity im grouping it) - (bigotry of the time aside) pacing of stories mainly, (obviously this is a product of its time so i don’t hold it too harshly and accept it for what it is) also companion exits are very underwhelming and marrying them off for reason to leave is 👎

rtd - more personal taste, but russell’s tendency to up the ante in every series finale is not my cup of tea. once you get to ‘all of reality is at stake’, i’ve lost my investment in the story. also his obsession with a certain companion. i like rose don’t get me wrong, but russell couldn’t seem to let her go throughout his whole era.

moffat - (many lol) mainly his treatment of his female characters is awful, complicated plots/ arcs, doesn’t understand the concept of death, the amount of body comments through this era, also a niche one but the overly large time skips in the doctor for little reason, seriously 4 and half billion years is taking the piss

chibnall - (it’d be quicker to say things i liked about this era lol) lack of any depth of character, lack of sense of morality, bad dialogue etc etc.

11.) least favorite companion?

the cop lol 💀 or basically any of the fam although this is more from a writing standpoint (im sorry im very harsh on this era 😅). i think ch*bnall’s take on the companion role is an insult to the show. the companion has never been background furniture just to give the occasional line. no the companion does not always have to save the day but they have always been characters in of themselves which contributes to the stories and plot. the doctor/ companion relationship is also essential to the show which is basically non existent in this era too. yaz unfortunately makes it to the bottom because she has been here the longest without adequate contribution. a three season companion should have way much more going for them.

20.) if you could change anything about the show, what would it be?

im gonna take this as changes to the show in general, to which i would say (obviously budget and production restrictions aside) definitely need to go off earth more, and definitely need an alien companion. wish list things, i would say having longer seasons (stop reducing the episode count bbc!), exploring the tardis more (seeing the companions’ bedrooms), also i’d give the master a long term companion.
