In another version of that summer, Bathilda Bagshot buried her great nephew in another country...
Far from the corpse of Abeforth and Ariana's older brother who lay waste in the goats' feeding pen.

I've seen a lot of posts about the new episode revolving around Rio's reveal or a joke in the show that was incredibly funny, but I haven't seen a lot about Lilia herself, whose episode it was. This is by far my favorite episode of the show, and not just because Lilia is my favorite character. It was an episode about life and accepting death and a character out of time who just wanted to forget her visions and forget her past and all the tragedy she's witnessed from both her life and her visions. It also gave context to those, at the time, funny moments of Lilia randomly blurting something out, which was just incredible to see. Then the scene where she reads her own past and future, that was just so powerful. Each of the coven members played a part, and it makes me want to watch the whole series again with this context. All of this leading up to her beautiful and well-earned sacrifice. The cinematography of that scene was just incredible and tastefully done where we don't have to see Lilia's end. We just get to see her a girl again, happy, and with her coven. This episode really was a knock out of the park for me with Lilia and her character arc and a real standout in any Marvel show too. I loved it.

hey gang, do we all agree that ten's massive ego and god complex (or rather those traits being especially prominent in his regeneration) were a direct result of what happened in Parting of the Ways?
"marlena what the fuck do you mean" okay well think about it; ninth doctor. fresh off the time war. thinks himself unlovable, unworthy of love. just did a double genocide, including against his own people. he's returning to his old ways of lallygagging around helping humans in a more-than-desperate attempt to repress his feelings and try to mimic the person he was before the war. he's so vulnerable.
enter rose tyler. to him? she's the most amazing person in the universe. he loves her, full stop. she makes him feel like maybe he's still capable of love, but does he really trust her love for him? after all, she doesn't really know him, does she?
all that comes to a head when rose tyler becomes the bad wolf. in that moment, she sees everything. everything everything. the doctor's past, and the doctor's future. every horrible thing they did and will do.
and in that moment, with all this truth streaming constantly into her brain, most amazing person in the universe rose tyler looks at him and goes "i want to save you. you are worth saving."
bro no fucking shit ten has a motherfucking god complex, jesus christ i would too!!!
now personally i think nine would have rationalized it and been relatively Normal 'bout all that noise had he survived onwards, but unfortunately he didn't, and so when the doctor's subconscious and the universe were holding hands deciding what their new little guy should be like... well, we're already making him just for her, and she loves him.
rose tyler loves me. she loved me even when she knew me.
i'm just saying, that "Bad Wolf chose to save me" to "the laws of time are mine to command" pipeline is a straight vertical drop only a few feet long.

[ID: A digital painting of the crow from Death's Door resting on a foggy fall night. They are sitting on a big pumpkin, and resting their feet on a smaller one. The light from their pink sword illuminates the scene. In the background, two forest spirits are playing in a small pile of leaves underneath a tree. /End ID]
I started working on this on October. I finished it today. There's a few things I don't like about it but overall I'm happy with how this came out! Especially the fog, which was a last minute addition and I never did anything like it before.
I also made myself a cooler signature. Yayyy
Alt versions right here I guess because Tumblr hates image posts

Doomed by the narrative, the innocent sacrifice, death and the maiden, the chronic illness taking over. Ophelia standing by the brook, the liminal standing between day and night, between life and death.
The chronicle of a death foretold, just like Gabriel García said. Yet, instead of being a reconstruction, we see it played in front of our very eyes.
All of these were present with Lucy, every single one of these was announced as we watched Lucy cling to her life with great bravery. Even if it felt futile, moreso if we saw her suffer in pain and confusion. Blood transfusion after blood transfusion, garlic flowers, surrounded by death, the howling of a wolf, a final letter hidden for victory.
Not for Lucy, but for the people around her.
"I fear that to-morrow will end our watching, for the shock has been too great; the poor child cannot rally. God help us all." - Jack Seward.
We are not mourning Lucy because she is going to die in the way the characters think. We are mourning Lucy because we, as the readers, sadly know that not even death will save her from what is coming next.
"her open mouth showed the pale gums drawn back from the teeth, which thus looked positively longer and sharper than usual."
Lucy is not even going to rest, she is going to go through something so much worse.

[ID: A WIP digital painting of the crow from Death's Door resting on some pumpkins on an autumn night. /End ID]
I get the feeling that this won't be ready by the end of today...
I've never used this style before btw. This is all a single layer, except for the sky
I should finish my other Halloween WIP that I'll actually be able to get done today.

The more I learn about Destiny of the Endless. The more I think the 'RULES' were made specifically to keep 'him' in check....And he just managed to cleverly deflect all of the blame onto Dream. Tricksy little blighter. 😆
No kissy/heart emoji thoughts for mortals please
Dream: Has a passionate romance with a mortal... Her city gets destroyed by a random meteor. Asks her to be his queen, deals reeeaaaalllllyyyy badly with being told the word no. Fallout: One city and one really unfortunate ex.
Destiny: Leaves his realm for five minutes to to tell (not ask) a mortal woman she's going to have his kid. Which leads to the creation of Pestilence, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse ... Oh, and the added bonus of the arrival of global pandemics. Cheers mate! Fallout: Humanity as we know it.
Don't mess with each others stuff/ have at each other
Dream: Desire has a child, as a back up plan... To f*ck up Dream's realm. And maybe, you know.. Kill him. Possibly... A little. Dream proceeds to posture aggressively at them. Response to aggravating siblings: We are not amused.
Destiny: Directly defies his own mother's wishes and the destiny his book dictates (Aka absolute Destiny unholy of unholies) to pull Dream from a Black Hole. Just so he can get his sh*t off his backyard because it's messing up his zen. Response to aggravating siblings: I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.
Don't pick on the mortals unless it's to give them a good telling or warn them off strenuously
Dream looses his temper. Tends to go all Storm from Xmen on the local weather system. Can occasionally do something really frikkin stupid.. Like send his ex to hell. Tantrum level: Eldritch Toddler
Destiny looses his temper... Wiped an entire city, population, buildings... Men, women, children.. Dust bunnies... OFF THE MAP. Permanently! Tantrum level: Old Testament. God Level.
Little bonus... Try not to fill the world with baby Endless . It's not good for the environment
Orpheus: Brings the world beautiful song and a tragic tale of romance.
John: Brings the world... Plague, all the types.
....
The Fates: Right that's it! We'll be seeing no more of these shinnanigans! We are implementing rules. And they WILL be followed!!
Destiny: (Tutting) Honestly little brother
Dream: Wait... Me!??
