I've decided that Giant Robo OVA has three sets of onscreen marrieds. Two husband pairs and a token straight couple.

I think everyone blaming the spinoff for Young Sheldon being different is only doing so because it is easier to blame the spinoff than the natural consequence of the show being in its SEVENTH SEASON… having to work quickly after the writers strike/actors strike… and the simple fact that until George buys the farm, Sheldon is basically at his final development point already and all his real development can be found in his very popular series that we saw already.

Yeah -#but they basically were background until Episode 6 #like think about this - REALLY remember - I know it’s hard bc S7 is short and kinda boring #but they had basically NO screentime until their wedding plot kicked off #I’d say the first three episodes were Mary and Sheldon heavy #with consistent Meemaw focus #that’s why - Meemaw is basically the one character always in some focus in these final episodes #where as I think Georgie and Mandy get like four couple scenes in five episodes that last about a minute or so #Sheldon took a backseat for the wedding but still had a big character reveal - then we see his college choices #that’s about all you CAN do with him until George dies.

Sometimes, on nights like these, I get forcibly reminded of the time I was forced to do poetry at a speech competition. Another person had entered into the event for a state tournament, but decided last minute they didn’t want to anymore, so I got slotted in so we didn’t have to pay the drop fee. The poem set I threw together last minute was about insomnia, I collected the poems from various places online, most without authors, and made a program in just a day and had it performance ready in a week. It was shitty, and very clearly hobbled together, but I was proud of it nonetheless. I wonder what happened to the nameless authors, whose poems are likely lost to the sands of internet time, but who’s works and thoughts and feelings are cemented forever in my mind and the little black binder I still keep

#technical speech/forensics explanation time #so there are a couple different catergories of events #the big one being limited prep vs normal prep #limited prep you just show up to the tournament and preform with what they give you #think improv #normal prep (not the actual name I just can’t think of it) you had basically as much time before the tournament to prep #and that meant being memorized having movements voices etc #BUT #although poetry and prose were normal prep events you didn’t technically Have to be memorized #because in those events you had a little black three ring binder with your script in it #you weren’t allowed to move below your waist #but you could have voices and move the book and your hands to tell the story #this is all to say that I do still have my poetry book #and I like looking at it #maybe I’ll record myself reading it and post it #I dunno if anyone would want that tho

Went to the local community radio station to have a chat about maybe possibly playing some RPGs in a studio and recording it, and (once I actually got someone to answer the door, because... community radio) they were really happy to help! Showed me around, said they were looking at expanding their podcast support, gave me a decent idea of available recording times...nothing set in stone just yet, but still, exciting!

(aaaaaah what am I even doing, am I even REMOTELY qualified for this, will it all fall in a screaming heap!?)

I love thinking I’m super behind on the homework but then discovering I’m actually sound

#at least three people that i know of haven’t done last week’s homework #which isn’t toooo crazy. BUT. what is crazy is that i’ve just seen someone post their code in the slack channel for debugging help #and it’s for an exercise we were given more than two weeks ago #which begs the question of WHY i’ve been trying to get all my homework done within a week of it being set #i haven’t always managed it. i haven’t started on the homework from last wednesday because i’m 85% sure i’ve broken my 11ty site #and i haven’t broken it so badly that i can’t salvage it but it’s also like….. i’d rather just create a new one than fix it #like i’d rather set up a completely new repo and everything #because my current repo is in a stupid place #i also need to find out how to add bootstrap to a nunjuck file. i’m pretty sure my instructor explained it during the last class #but the overall concept of hunting down the recording sounds absolutely exhausting to me #i’ll get it done this weekend #even if our deadlines are super flexible (as they seem to be lol) i don’t want to be rushing to get a bunch of work done at the end of the #course. like i know there are a couple of things i’ll want to fix and resubmit (which we’re allowed to do apparently) but i want everything #to be more or less done in fairly good time #i just don’t want to have to worry about dozens of pieces of work all at once #like i feel bad enough right now knowing i have 2 classes’ worth of homework to get through and i’m about to receive more homework today #i can’t imagine how i’d feel if i was still working on stuff from week two. couldn’t be me but you all stay safe out there #personal

Actually timed myself for the final boss fight bc a coworker was talking about the "hour long final boss" and I was like...pretty sure I only take about 30 minutes, and indeed, even with the longass attack animations, it took me about 35 minutes

I didn't even get to use up all the powerful magic I'd saved up...

#said coworker also said I should record/stream bc I was telling him about some of the nonsense I do late-game #that makes certain late-game bosses only take about a turn to complete w/ no damage taken #and I'm like...were that I could but that is not a power I have at the moment #maybe one day...it might be fun to record runs with every single character to show off how they can be used #now I'm gonna try to talk myself into taking a couple weeks break from the games so I can finish some art I've been ignoring #but honestly I feel like I really wanna replay Three Hopes bc DLC or no and my gripes w/ the writing aside #I really enjoyed the gameplay SO much and I wanna get every character class mastery in every class #also full scripts w/ all alt. dialogue haven't been datamined and sorted yet #and I am going crazy thinking I saw this one optional dialogue that I can't find on ANY of the scripts that have been uploaded yet #so now it's like...gotta replay the battle where I think the dialogue occurred and try out every variable to see if I can find the quote #oracle of lore

any spoonies who regularly stay awake for 24+ hours know how to not do that? not as in you can’t sleep but you’re just not tired enough to go to bed

bro so I was in Courtilly’s chat for all of the games today and the last like. almost an hour of the stream we were all just making puns off of sidearms’ name; like verifiedarms, friedarms, bonafidearms, stuff like that. it was so wholesome and fun and Courtilly got a kick out of it too! she also read out like two of them actually to Side, but the only one I can remember verbatim was “did you get smaller? because you look circumsizedarms”

i love how every three months, i open up a spreadsheet, record the number of fics currently available on ffn and ao3 for a couple anime fandoms, nod to myself abt a Science well done, and then close the spreadsheet for another three months

#i think also funny is the fact that i'm pretty sure i talk abt this every three months too #i actually almost forgot to record data today. idk what the fuck reminded me #right now i'm transferring some data from one spreadsheet to another bc that other one is a garbled mess #i've been putting it off for so long bc i only know how to do it by hand. clerical errors win #anyway as per usual a couple of older fandoms have been steadily bleeding fics over on ffn #and like 98% of new fics are posted to ao3 rather than ffn unless i try to traverse the mess that is wattpad #but wattpad is very inconsistent for data gathering so i just kinda suffer #花話
