#for the charecters

i keep seeing this and i saw another post saying something similar but it genuinely icks me so much when i see something like-

“insert character is actually a horrible person!” or “insert character is actually a good person!”

especially in comics, because first off-

these are fictional characters, i know we all love them- but they’re just placeholders with a name and personality that we tell made up stories about. they can’t be a piece of shit, because they aren’t anything, so don’t get so worked up.

second off when they DO come across that way, especially if the character is a protagonist or a “good guy”-

and then in one specific story or one timeline there is a dickhead version of them (batman is a great example, nightwing, talia al ghul- it happens so much in comics chat 😭) then i see so many fans or members of the community jump on the hate train for not just that characterization, but the character as a whole.

this also happens when said characters are given flaws to make them more realistic, talia al ghul is a huge victim of this (and usually MORE SO than most dc characters because she is subconsciously profiled all the time).

anywho, i see all these people dogpiling on a character even though 90% of the time that characterization is just a choice by the writer.

comic writers aren’t looking at protagonists and long standing characters and deciding “yeah they’ve actually been racist this whole time”, no, a couple writer made a stupid decision that got published. and the great thing about comics is that not everything you have to imagine as canon! not every iteration of batman is the batman that you love! and that’s ok, that doesn’t make a character bad.

and it definitely doesn’t excuse hating on fans of that character because your canon of that character doesn’t fit another’s.

(i feel like what we should be doing when discussing characterization is be aware that it is all taking place in comic books- like “oh my god i hate all star batman” or “in canon deathstrokes done some weird shit” instead of saying “i hate batman.” “deathstroke is a pedo”—even though he kinda is—

because what about media where he’s an anti hero? and what about the millions of media where batman’s *not* a dick? if your evidence for your claim is specific, make a claim about the specific evidence, and not the masses of unrelated data)

I know this has been said before, but Jimmy does remind Scar strongly of Grian (both are blonde, avian etc.)

But you know who reminds Grian of scar. SKIZZ! Both are kinda clueless and on their red lives for the majority of the time and have a strange sort of charm. (Different kinds of charm but charm). Both of them die dumb deaths. Grian is basically plotting almost all of his traps for him (just like he used to do for Scar)

Both their names even sound the same...

Love, slow down!" he cried as he felt the burning sensation of cumming dry from the hours you two had spent, bending him over every surface in the house until his gummy walls were carved in the shape of your length. His vision cloudy and his breath uneven as his grip slipped from the table an onto your shoulders as you bullied his prostate and over-sensitive nerves.

graves had teased you about his Christmas gift last night being himself, and god did you take it seriously. He could feel the lingering burns of your hickeys and kisses along every inch of his skin and his hole fluttering around you oh so prettily. You were addicted to even the sight of his pretty hips flush against yours.

His jaw went slack and fell open, pretty moans and whimpers and broken begs falling out loud enough the neighbors could probably hear. Not that he minded, of course. The frosting he had made for the cookies now stained on his shirt which used to be yours. Maybe he wouldn’t come home next Christmas just to be a brat. And just to know you’d do even worse then. You’d probably pull you by the scruff of his neck from his base in front of his men and drag him home like the good husband you are

This session was something for sure! I was constantly bobbing between ecstasy and depression. (I was left in depression as mumbo died😢). What with the almost pointed questions (why did the bot have to do scar like that) and the mace alliance (is it even an alliance?) it all seemed a bit specific to desert duo. Can all that really be a coincidence? Here's my headcannon.

The watchers made this series to mainly feed off the emotions of the players. Out of all the emotions they have had, grief was their favorite one (they generally preferred negative emotions). So, they put them in a game that one could not really win.

The first season was Grian's win. To the watchers this was almost perfect (the only thing they were unhappy about was that Grian had won). After killing Scar he was a sea of grief, and the watchers could feast.

The second season, they considered a failure. This time Scott won. They would have preferred almost anyone else. Even after winning the death game he did not have much negative emotions. In fact, he had a sense of victory. The watchers out of anger and shame killed him on the spot.

Double life was much more successful in their eyes. Pearl had given them a constant stream of negative emotions. Upon her death she left behind a huge amount of rage and not enough greif. She even left behind relif. This was far from perfect.

In limited life Martyn gave them a huge mocktail of negative emotions, but his cons overweighed his pros. He was aligned with the listeners. He asked much too many questions. Upon his win they sped up the clock and waited him to die. He left behind grief but it wasnt nearly enough.

Scar constantly radiated greif and lonliness in this season. They decided to keep him and feed off him until the next games. But they still longed for the huge amount of grief that had cured their hunger for weeks during the first game.

I think real life was not something the watchers had control over. It was a regular minigame conducted by the players which they subconsciously built to resemble the watchers games.

In wild life, I feel the watchers are chasing that perfect formula they had in third life. Renchanting is back, and they are trying to bring desert duo back through the bots and stuff. They had tried the same in double life but that had failed. They hope for better results this season so they can once again make them kill each other.
