It's funny how often Bill is described as a master manipulator, he's so smart that he knows what everyone is thinking and how to push their buttons.

Because he is SO BAD at manipulation!

The only reason he ever gets what he wants is because he can literally read and control minds. And historically, he is pretty shit at using what he learns in a productive way.

Every time he has a human partner, it's because they are obviously desperate for something he can provide. All he does is use the fact that he's a seemingly omniscient otherworldly being to gain ethos, and then tell them he can get them the thing they want.

These are not complicated concepts. Anyone with those inherent advantages could do that. And, historically, when the actual negotiations are up to him and he hasn't backed someone into a corner, he pretty immediately fumbles the bag.

Think of when he possessed that priest: he pitched his plans outright with zero tact and everyone in the room immediately refused and dedicated themselves to making sure he never got his way.

The pharoh DISPISED him, found him annoying and tried to banish him. The shaman caught wise pretty quick. Xgqrthx never even planned on helping him at any point. Every plan failed because of Bills own ineptitude, when all the cards were stacked in his favor!

The way he talked to Ford was disturbing and direct and entirely Bill-like. Ford was just a sponge for any flattery and happened to be into the way Bill spoke and left him rats and suggested murder because he is also abnormal.

Bill is bad at making friends, which is why he has just a few henchmaniacs he's gathered over billions of years.

People DO NOT LIKE HIM.

And he's in denial about that to an extent. He always thinks they'll be on his side once he reveals his true intentions. He always thinks they'll go for the promise of infinite power and destruction because who wouldn't?

Basically, for an immortal god who's had an unfathomably long time to practice social skills and can LITERALLY ENTER MINDS TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO SAY... he's really, really bad at manipulation. And really, any sort of person to person connection.

what i love about laios is that he's actually very good at putting puzzle pieces together BUT HERE'S THE THING 1) he needs to HAVE the information, and 2) (this is important) he needs to KNOW it is information he should care about

and i think this could be said of anyone but the thing with laios is that people tend to view his lack of awareness wrt social etiquette and memory problems as pure indifference and/or obliviousness; sometimes they misinterpret his motives based on their inaccurate expectations of him and therefore don't give his thoughts on a subject the credit he deserves

one of the most obvious examples of this happens at least twice in the manga as i remember it, but the most recent incident was when they were trying to resurrect falin. there's a moment where laios mentions reconstructing both of the warg skeletons, as their bones are mixed in with hers. both chilchuck and senshi balk at this, with chilchuck complaining aloud, questioning laios' priorities,

and laios quickly, angrily retorts. his reason for making the suggestion is perfectly logical and practical, but because his friends are used to his interest in monsters influencing his judgement, often in ways they see as frivolous or dangerous, they don't come to the same conclusion. one which i'd argue is kind of obvious considering the situation

we see it again during his fight with toshiro, where toshiro demands to know what laios plans to do to save falin. laios takes a minute to answer, but he DOES answer, following the logic that if falin is a chimera because of (and controlled by) the mad mage, then the logical next step is to confront/defeat/usurp them

then in the following episode, when chilchuck brings it up again, laios explains what he (now) knows about thistle, mentioning that he's the same elf that laios saw in the living paintings, which is why he knows thistle's connection to delgal. the party reacts like this:

i'd say this is an example of them feeling frustration over laios' habit of having 'bad timing', not knowing when or how to speak at appropriate moments. theyre judging him for not saying something earlier, as if he already knew all this but didn't think to mention it when it was relevant, when the reality is that laios only just now had all the pieces he needed to understand the full picture

and i mention this bit specifically because i think it's a great way to explain what i mean by point 2: laios needs to know when information is important and worth considering

which, again, feels fucking obvious. but as someone who ALSO has debilitating issues with remembering important shit, i find this particular element of it pretty relatable and critical to my overall point. it's not laios' fault that he didn't know who thistle was or his significance - why the hell would he assume that a person he met in a living painting, presumably long since dead in reality, should be someone who's face, name, or motives he keeps in mind?

ultimately, i guess what i'm trying to say with all this is that the way others treat laios' intelligence is not congruent to how actually smart he is. one of the things i love most about laios, what is possibly his biggest strength and the reason he is such a great protagonist, is that laios is willing to think things through and find the most logical conclusion to a problem, no matter how outlandish or dangerous or seemingly impossible that conclusion may be. sister got eaten? race back down to go get her. can't afford food? fight, defeat, and eat dangerous monsters. sister's fully digested? use black magic to bring her back. now she's a chimera? defeat the mage controlling her and use that power to fix it.

anyways. what was even my point with this post? i guess it is that laios is smart, at least as smart as anyone else in the cast, arguably smarter than some. he is intelligent and utilizes that intelligence in many ways, not JUST when it comes to monster info (though that is his best and sexiest brand of knowledge)

It feels like I blink and December flies by. And with it, the return of challenges. We had been given a break around threshing. Giving us time to adjust to our dragons, the new training we had to take up, and any signets that might manifest. Which was probably a smart idea. There were plenty of signets amongst the first years that could have been deadly if they manifested in a challenge where no rules were in play. I hate to think what my signet would have done if it manifested during a challenge.

But now I had the challenge of not using my signet during the challenges. With a classified signet I was restricted in what I could show around the other students. The only place I was technically allowed to use my signet was around Carr. So far he seemed impressed with the progress I was making. Well the progress I was willing to show him. Which so far was moving objects and even him around. Controlling a human was way harder than an object. That night of the attack had seemed so easy, but Carr had informed me due to the situation I had probably delved deep into my power to save myself. I had made that cadet drop that dagger as if it was natural and something I had willed. Carr was a different story. He looked like a puppet. His movements were janky and rigid. I had to remind myself I was also going up against someone who knew how to shield very well. Another thing I would have to learn to break through he told me. Something I would have to practice with Xaden or Garrick in our training sessions after classes. Outside of Carr’s private sessions I now no longer needed to delve into my mind, into that courtyard to focus on someone’s mind and sense what they were feeling. I was starting to pick up on more their strengths, weaknesses and emotions. I was getting small glimpses into their mind. Nothing solid that I could pinpoint what it was, but it was progress. Progress I hoped I could turn into reading opponents intentions. Not that I needed it. Melgren’s training had taught me how to read my opponents movements and stances, to predict what their next move might be. But only time would tell.

As the rest of my squad head to another round of challenges, a round I could tell Violet and Liam were extremely nervous about, I walk through the door to Carr’s classroom. And it’s clear this lesson will be different to the last. Standing in front of Carr is Dain Aetos. The only other cadet in the quadrant with a classified signet. Dain turns as I walk in, his eyes narrowing, clearly not expecting me either.

”Excellent, you received my note.” Carr says with a smile. “You’ve proven you can handle a weapon without any issue so I thought we could use the time to strengthen your signet and test Dain’s.”

Dain turns his head back to Carr, confusion written all over his face. “And how do you expect to test me sir?”

Carr gives Dain one of the smiles that always sends a chill down my spine. “Miss Riorson here has a very very rare signet. The first of its kind. And if the tomes I have studied over the years are anything to go by, she should have a very powerful shield. One so powerful, it should be able to stop anyone from accessing her mind.”

Shit. He planned to see if Dain could access my memories. And if Carr was wrong, Dain would have open reign on everything I know. Everything from the rebellion. Everything from my time with Melgren. And everything that had happened since I had been here. Including the information I now knew about the weapons smuggling and the Gryphon riders. Shit.

Relax. You will be fine. He will not be able to get anything. Mealladh says confidently in my head.

So Carr is right? I ask, relief washing over me.

Yes. You have a very strong shield. Even before I chose you and you manifested your signet. It is one of the reasons I chose you. No one without a dragon or a signet should have a shield as strong as yours. The colonels son wont be able to make a dent in it unless you let him in. Which for you, can be harder than learning to shield for most cadets. You won’t have to do a thing.

Mealladh’s words fill me with confidence as I walk over and drop my bag next to Dain’s on the floor. Carr merely nods at Dain and motions towards me. Signalling to start. Carr had not uttered a word of Dain’s signet. He assumes I don’t know what it is. Probably hoping if he is wrong that I will have no time to stop what is coming. But Xaden and Garrick had known. I assume as those higher up in the Quadrant they had access to the information. I had never asked how they knew. I just knew to avoid his touch. But right now I had no choice. I just had to hope and believe what Mealladh said was true.

Dain turns to me and holds his hands up, hovering either side of my head. He’s nervous. “My signet relies on touch. You ok if i-”

”Just do it.” I tell him sternly, cutting him off.

Dain nods before placing his hands either side of my head, closing his eyes as if needing to focus. But I keep mine open and focused on him. I watch as his eye brows furrow in confusion, as if not expecting what he finds. Or what he doesn’t find. I can feel something faint, very faint at the edge of my mind. The sensation remind me of a feather being dragged across my skin. I hadn’t tried to put my shields up like Melgren taught me. It was like they we’re already there. Already solidified in place. Unbreakable. I feel the sensation again, as if the feather is trying to break through. I can see Dain’s face shift at the effort. As if he is trying to hammer through my shield with great force. But to me, its as if barely anything is happening. I do what Melgren had taught me, slamming up the shield. I watch as Dain recoils as if shocked, his hands leaving my head as his eyes fly open, his chest rising rapidly as he struggles for air.

”I-I couldn’t see anything.” He tells Carr, his eyes still focused on me.

Out of the corner of my eyes I watch Carr smile again. “And let me guess, you tried to put up an actual shield at the end there?” His question directed at me.

I nod. “Yes.”

Even as I keep my eyes on Dain who looks like he is still trying to figure out what happened, I see the joy in Carr’s eyes. The joy at being right. I know as soon as I leave this room he will send word to Melgren of this new discovery. I had no doubt I would be tested against other cadets in the quadrant who bore mental signets. But I knew none we’re as powerful as Dain. The only exception might have been Jeremiah. Could a full innistic penetrate my shields? I would have no way to know seeing as the quadrant killed anyone who manifested that signet.

”Excellent. You are both dismissed. Feel free to head to challenges if you so wish.” Carr says with a flick of his had before turning to his desk and grabbing a roll of parchment. Another note of Melgren.

Dain and I leave the classroom, Dain rushing off towards the challenges. I roll my eyes before following slowly behind him. Maybe I can catch the challenge Liam and Violet we’re so worried about. As I go to round the corner to the gym, a voice in my head stops me in my tracks.

Shit. He’s gonna kill me cause she got hurt. Shit.

Protection, Uncrossing & Curse Freezin in a Traditional Hoodoo style.

A good practitioner eventually has the good common sense to be diplomatic and avoid a witch war. Avoiding drama, means avoiding headaches. It’s easy until it isn’t. Smoothing sailing isn’t always a guarantee in this world. Stay vigilant and well prepared.

Knowing how to protect, defend, uncross and cleanse yourself is a basic but crucial part of the Hoodoo practitioners spiritual hygiene.

Now this is a quick basic tutorial, to set you straight and keep you right.

⚔️ - KEEP YOUR HEAD SHARP & CULTIVATE COMMON SENSE

Hot heads, I’m talking to you. Emotional self control can save you from the stress of unnecessary witch battles with other practitioners. Be respectful, be mindful but take no shit. Try your best to avoid witch wars with other practitioners. I’ve seen these things be drawn out for years and it’s a huge colossal drain of energy and finances, usually over something very petty. Usually the person with most financial backing and resources wins but I’ve also seen clever maneuvering outweigh more powerful players.

It’s so easy to get caught up in drama in the spiritual community and have it spiral out of control. As your developing relationships, try to avoid warring and argumentative personality types so you don’t get caught in their crossfire. Committing all of your energy to constantly defending yourself from petty attacks is a waste of your energy. Cultivate social discernment & wisdom. This is not an invitation to live fearfully but smart. This is also something that takes time and practice.

On the other side of the spectrum, as you gain experience do your best to not become mad with power & trigger happy.

Constantly throwing jinxes, hexes or curses takes it’s toll mentally, energetically & physically, in some cases it can cause serious physical health problems further down the line. Don’t develop a god-complex. Stay grounded. Now I can’t tell you where to draw the line in the sand when it comes to certain situations, because every practitioner has their own code of ethics.

I’ll use myself as an example. On my spiritual journey I’ve acquired and invested in vast amounts knowledge and other resources which have made my defensive and offensive skills pretty extensive. Some of the things, rituals, and spirits that I have access to would be overkill depending on the circumstances. Coming into a massive powerful spiritual inheritance so early was hard.

I had to learn by trial and error to be more respectful of my own power. I was an overpowered baby witch shooting lightning bolts, while burning my own hands. Learning to practice emotional regulation allowed me to hone my skills better. I had to do shadow work and confront my traumas.

Cultivating a respectful working relationship between yourself, your own power and your emotions can save your life.

⚔️ - PRACTICE GOOD OFFENSE

A good practitioner will use various methods of divination to spiritually strategize before moving to attack. Attacking blindly without any knowledge, can cause all sorts of problems, especially if you’re dealing with someone who has strong spiritual or ancestral protections or a higher rank then you, worst case scenario you’re going up against a coven.

Excellent offense means doing recon. Good Reconnaisance skills means gathering information about your target, through various means of surveillance. Gather as much information about your enemies or targets resources, spiritual force or power, protection and activities. You should approach this like a military operation. Once you’ve got enough information, then you can strategize, prepare and do divination on what your next move should be.

This isn’t always easy either, depending on the skill of your target. People can cloak, shape-shift, even have guardian or monitoring spirits or ancestors to alert them. When in doubt, always use stealth. Always make sure to cloak and protect yourself when surveilling your target. It’s the most practical form of offensive protection. I’ve seen practitioners attack folks just for doing surveillance. Don’t get caught out here lacking, put on your damn armor.

All Power is intoxicating and life altering. Without self control you can seriously injure yourself and others. Ego often makes many people in this community think they are invincible, until they get humbled, tale as old as time. Respect your powers & yourself. Cultivate self control & discipline. Resist wild impulse. Build habits that protect you in the future.

if you were to summarise sirius' personality and character traits, how would you do it?

hi hi hi! so sorry for long this took but okay, so, let’s do this.

so, his CORE trait for me will always be loyalty, hands down. i once waxed poetic about sirius’ devotion to the potters to my friends for like, half an hour straight (one of them actually teared up). the way he talks about james even after so many years, how his first instinct is always to look out for harry, how everyone talked about him & j even when they believed he was the traitor—all of it just really drives home how he gives all of himself to someone when he decides to. if someone’s his person then he’ll do whatever it takes for them (if you’re not, tho? ur lucky if u even get a look in ur direction)

he’s also very competent. he was probably brought up as a pampered heir, with access to all the resources his little heart desired, so coupled w his innate ability/potential/aptitude, it becomes a deadly combination. he uses logic to work through things, prides himself on his intelligence, and probably wouldn’t like hanging out with people who can’t atleast match him in some sense (so laziness/incompetence grates badly).

as a corollary, he’s also pretty arrogant, in that casual sense that old money people are ykwim? he’s had the world on a silver platter his entire life, and even when he’s cut off from it, it’s still a part of him. there’s also the fact that he’s got a lot going for him—looks, power, smarts wise—and that just adds to it. so it can be off putting or it can be hot or both, but he has a superiority complex and he doesn’t exactly hide it. less interaction with the plebs, the better for him.

irreverence and dark humor!!! sirius copes using morbid jokes and making people uncomfortable; he has slight control issues and this way, he makes sure everyone’s always on their toes. it’s also like,,,a way to kind of gauge how others will react to him based on how they deal w his humor. bc he’s not sunshine and roses, right? and he doesn’t want anyone treating him like it or expecting him to be so. and in a way, their reactions to his jokes correlated to their degree of acceptance for him.

intense. when it comes to things he likes, he’s very passionate about it, almost with a single minded focus. and it can get A Lot. he operates in a lot of extremes, right? so either 0 or 100 and this comes across in the way he interacts with people, the level of interest he shows to things, and how much effort he puts in, if it’s His Thing, then he won’t leave a stone unturned but if he doesn’t care? then he will not give a single shit

any sasodei headcanons you’d be willing to bless us with? some of mine are:

sasori is extremely obsessive when it comes to deidara; once sasori takes a liking to something or someone, he’s the type to go IN. He wants to peel all of deidara’s layers one by one, dissect his thoughts, past, habits and attitudes, inspect every inch of his body in and out, get to know him deeply and intimately and figure out all there is to deidara, like he does with his craft. in my head, not only does he find deidara to be extremely fascinating (and stupid, he really doesn’t know why he’s in love with him) and is very captivated by him, but due to the loss of his parents, he forms an obsessive, borderline morbid attachment to deidara that manifests in things like having to know where he is at all times, ensuring he’s safe, thorough clinical check ups after battle, freaking out and getting angry at deidara when he’s putting himself in danger/gets hurt, etc. Though deidara is capable of taking care of himself and sometimes finds sasori’s behavior to be patronizing or belittling, he’s a HUGE attention whore and he LOVES all the doting and attention sasori gives him, good or bad. I think they’re both extremely starved for connection and love, and it manifests in obsessive attachment for sasori, and extreme attention whoring for deidara.

as opposed to sasori, i actually like to think that deidara was just born that way, and i don’t mind the lack of explicit tragic backstory to deidara (but also acknowledging that war and shinobi training on a child was probably damaging to an extent). He definitely strikes me as a sociopath/narcissist, and one of the things i enjoy about him is his nonchalance and lack of remorse for his actions; he’s less of an uwu baby and more of a chill little psycho to me.

speaking of chill: imo deidara is actually very laid back and funny, and i refuse and reject the “hot-headed comic relief” role he was given on later in the anime. While he’s no doubt arrogant and temperamental and has an inferiority complex, he’s also smart, quick, witty, deadly and mostly cool calm and collected (unless a sore spot is hit). Sasori on the other hand… sasori has a very short fuse, and is very prone to quick anger outbursts when things slip from his control or don’t go according to plan. But sasori is also more mature, and often has to reign in deidara and his ire.

sasori’s love language is definitely acts of service. He’s no good with expressing his feelings, and doesn’t have deidara’s desperate need to touch and to be touched, but he shows his love for deidara via things like bathing him after a battle, washing his hair, brushing it for him, doing deidara’s mani and pedicure, etc.

in his earlier days, deidara deeply resented the akatsuki and itachi for forcing him to be part of the organization, when all he wanted to do was be free and do his thing; i see deidara as a petulant and bratty child who had his freedom taken away, and started acting up terribly as a result of this. He’d throw temper tantrums, have screaming matches with sasori, blow shit up, cry and make horrible choices in retaliation, which he’s often get disciplined for by the akatsuki. he often would try to escape the basement, only for sasori to drag him back by his hair and punish him. As he grew up he calmed down and started minding the akatsuki less and less.

deidara is obsessed with birds, and is a huge people watcher/very observant; in his downtime he often tries to convince sasori to do “normal people” things with him.

deidara has a raging teenager libido that sasori had to develop a human- form jutsu for, in order to appease deidara’s appetite regularly and often, or he becomes insufferable. Pleasure is well and okay, but for sasori sex is all about exercising the control he has over deidara.

speaking of power dynamics… deidara cedes most control to sasori in various aspects of their partnership, but is actually very difficult to break; he always makes sure to hold some control for his own, just in case things get out of hand. Sasori has managed to bring him past that a few times, and he most treasures the instances when he gets deidara to submit fully and without reserve. Sasori values devotion the most.

I have so many its real hard to organize them into something coherent but here goes nothing!! 

-Sasori has Severe Attachment Issues, for obvious reasons. And like you said, it definitely comes out as obsessive behavior over Deidara. He can't quite admit he's attached, he likes to pretend its just because they're forced to be partners and keeping him alive is just another one of his job duties. Everyone but him knows he's lying to himself. Especially Deidara. He is well aware of his importance to Sasori, despite only having the vaguest idea of why Sasori is so skittish around attachments. Between his parents and Komushi, everyone he loves dies, so if he just doesn't love, then they can't die, right? Or if they do, it won't hurt, right? 

-Wrong. Deidara can be reckless and bold, but overall he's a very skilled shinobi and tactician, so he doesn't actually get into severe life threatening danger too often. Plus, as exhibited in their first appearance, Sasori actually trusts Deidara to get the job done on his own (and he's RIGHT). HOWEVER. One genuine near death experience where Sasori had to rush him back to HQ and do his damn best to keep Deidara alive with his skills far better suited to dead bodies made him absolutely panic. Phantom heartbeat and all. Pacing the shop while Deidara sleeps it off, heavily sedated, covered in poultices and bandages, Sasori realizes that refusing to admit attachment wouldn't make it hurt any less if he lost Deidara. 

-Its all over for the hoes (Deidara). He wakes up to a completely new Sasori that sets him entirely off kilter for Days. He's overbearing and fussy and overprotective and spoiling Deidara with as many acts of service he can possibly contrive, all while being verbally just as cold and dismissive as always. Deidara is smug and flattered and allows it, never pushes Sasori to admit anything because he really doesn't need to. He does however make this up to himself by taking advantage of it at every possible opportunity. He looooves attention. Even when Sasori gets way too overprotective.

-Deidara's got a gnarly fuckin pain tolerance and he'd like to be treated as such!! It kinda drives him nuts when Sasori acts like Deidara needs to be maintained like one of his puppets. Like its flattering too so he puts up with it because thats how Sasori shows he cares, but they definitely get in arguments about it. But arguments are just foreplay for them so its kinda part of the fun. He riles Sasori up for fun, knowing that the more pissed he is, the more sadistic he'll be later. Sasori still fusses over him in aftercare, but not in the same panicked and obsessive way he does after a battle because he knows Exactly what he did to Deidara and also exactly how to treat it, knowing it is all always fixable, even if it requires specialized antidotes and/or a few days to walk it off.

-Sasori as a human had a shockingly low pain tolerance for a shinobi. Part of why he wanted a puppet body. He would bitch and moan and languish over getting knicked by a kunai. That's part of why he created Hiruko. Even if he can't feel, it doesn't mean he needs to put his body at risk willy nilly. He's also Obsessive about keeping his puppet body in absolutely perfect condition, not even a scratch on the varnish.

-Sometimes when Deidara is just too fucking cute/beautiful/perfect/whatever Sasori is gripped with emotions he cant handle or explain and it turns into hostility. He's got that squish instinct where he hears kill bill sirens and wants to crush anything that crawls under his skin and makes him *feel* these weird fuzzy emotions that he shouldn't be able to have. He hates it, its really confusing and weird and uncomfortable but he's also so fascinated he can't help himself.

-Speaking of emotions. His puppet body isn't quite capable of them, he doesn't have the mess of neurochemicals and physiological responses that most people have. No racing heart, sweating, trembling hands, headaches and stomachaches, sore muscles, bruises, hunger, exhaustion, none of it. So when something can reach into his heart and make him feel shit... he's not the best at handling it. can't really recognize what it is, most of the time.

-Deidara can, though. He's startlingly emotionally intelligent, as in he's perceptive and a tactician who understands what's happening and knows well enough not to go poking landmines. He sidesteps this so deftly Sasori has no idea he knows, while Deidara is far more aware of Sasori's emotions than he is.

-With this said though, Deidara's still super unstable, volatile, prone to quick and violent mood swings. Just because he understands on a logical level doesn't mean he is immune to them. He's impulsive and prone to overreacting to shit and he doesn't feel particularly motivated to hold himself back most of the time. His emotions strike like a match and burn out just as fast, usually leaving craters in their wake though. He likes blowing shit up, and honestly, good for him he needs an outlet for all that.

-Sasori's outlet is his puppetry, obviously. Nothing makes him feel more powerful than being elbow deep in a not-quite-dead skilled shinobi's chest cavity, pulling them apart and rearranging them to best suit him. I think he used to be veryyyy squeamish as a human, but now that he's exempt from death and does not have the same physiological disgust reactions, its very clinically detached and calculated for him.

-Sasori's other outlet is Deidara. Deidara lets him do damn near whatever the fuck he wants, and he loves the heady power trip of watching Deidara react for him. He likes to control him. He's possessive and demanding and selfish, but in a deeply sadistic way where it always translates to doing some depraved shit to Deidara just to hear him beg. Likewise, being under Sasori's control is the only way Deidara can let go and feel that sort of bliss that comes with allowing himself to be entirely mindless. He trusts Sasori so much, very literally with his life when it gets into the kinkier sides of their dynamic. Deidara is a pain slut and Sasori has control issues and a nasty case of bloodlust. Just go look at those gifs of Human Sasori in battle. Go on, I'll wait. You know that face he makes where his eyes widen and he smiles way too wide? Yeah. He's delighted by causing pain, and Deidara is delighted to receive it from him.

-They are so fucking kinky. I mean its already literally canon that Deidara calls Sasori 'master' and Sasori calls him 'brat' like come ON the precedent is set!! Even the english dub version of 'my man' is pretty fucking gay too. So yeah, theyre master and brat, Kishi said so, I'm just making it explicit. I could write dissertations on their dynamic but this is getting long enough so I will keep it so simple. For now.

-A non exhaustive list of what they're into: domination/submission, complete power exchange, bratting, brat taming, orgasm control/denial/overstimulation, praise!!, impact play, bondage (hello that coil gets put to good use), wax/temperature play, under the influence/poison play, literally anything that makes Deidara feel and scream while Sasori laughs. Deidara wants transcendence, Sasori wants control, they both get everything they need in whatever way Sasori deems fit. He does what he wants and Deidara learns to like it or loves when he hates it. Its complicated, but it works for them.

-They never really talk about it, they don't verbalize their feelings or spend too long negotiating scenes or rehashing after they're over. Bad bdsm etiquette, yes, but honestly they don't really need to. They understand each other implicitly, they've been partners in battle for years at this point, they know what real pain and fun pain looks like. Plus it adds this twist of angst where they both sit with these feelings they are so aware are reciprocated, but they're not comfortable or maybe even able to express it like that. They're artists though, they're used to alternative forms of self expression.

-Sasori is meticulous about aftercare. Fussy, overbearing, kind of annoying but Deidara fucking loves it he's so needy and starved for affection and recognition and praise and tenderness and care. And Sasori loves that Deidara is enamored by him, too fascinated to ever leave and Sasori will nurture that dependence because he likes being needed. They're so fucked up but they work perfectly for each other and only each other. Thats the only mother fucker in any of the shinobi nations who can handle him (mutual).

Alright, I'm hideously behind and the world is awful so I’m just going to blitz through to the end because the next readthrough is starting soon and I'm not even done with this one, like what is this, high school English? So ....

This is my reread of the Lockwood and Co. Books, organized by @blue-boxes-magic-and-tea, I'll make a general summary of several chapters and then post bits and pieces that jumped out at me.

I go into a longer analysis of Fairfax and Annie’s relationship and how it relates to Lucy but I do want to say kudos to Stroud for portraying such a realistic unhealthy relationship. This is a young adult book and he could have easily made Annabel Ward a saintly abuse victim, but she wasn’t. She was in a complicated toxic relationship with a powerful man, she feared him but wanted his love and approval, she acted in ways that provoked him, which obviously was not smart but abused people do not act in relatable, logical ways. Abuse victims fight back, act in toxic ways, return to their abusers and do any number of seemingly illogical things and I think that it says a lot about Lucy that despite all her baggage, her young age, her “not like other girls” tendencies, her inability to relate to the life Annie had, she still felt an enormous amount of empathy for her and it was that empathy that saved them in the end.

Part IV, Chapters 23-24:

Lucy’s family and her past in Cheviot Hills is fascinating because she never speaks about them except for the very succinct and detached way at the very start and these small moments throughout the books that indicate they mean a lot more to her than she would ever admit to anyone. The fact that she keeps some kind of memory box far under her bed, the fact that she sees her sisters as concussed visions alongside Annie Ward and Lockwood who, for very different reasons, currently occupy her mind quite a bit, shows the family she left behind still has a huge hold over her.

I love George so much because he sasses and analyzes everything in front of him from literally the moment he regains consciousness.

Never going to be normal about Lucy using this sort of imagery about Lockwood. She’s reaching near Victorian levels of Beautiful Death prose. Lockwood is always ethereal, otherworldly and doomed. Too good and beautiful for this sinful earth. What’s interesting is that in literature this sort of imagery is usually reserved for the hero describing the heroine. It’s one of many times the “hero” and “heroine” tropes between these two that are pretty regularly subverted.

Fairfax is like Combe Carey Hall itself in that at night he transforms and the posh and valuable facade recedes to reveal a grotesque and horrible true nature underneath.

Fairfax is an abuser who cannot understand that his toxic relationship with Annie is entirely of his own making. From the beginning their relationship was not that of equals. He was of a higher social class than her and never did anything to bridge that gap because it would threaten his precious inheritance and he never viewed acting or this part of his life as permanent or worth preserving. He was just partying and having fun before he settled into living a rich man’s life. He hid his relationship with Annabel and Annabel, naturally, resented the shit out of being treated as someone’s dirty secret. She sensed how disposable she was to him and got jealous, manufactured conflict and fights, flirted with other men, all to get attention and to provoke a reaction from Fairfax. And he rewarded her for this behavior. He was obviously controlling and his lavish gifts were meant to pacify her. They also normalized their unhealthy dynamic, the locket explicitly referred to the toxicity of their relationship as romantic. You can’t write “my torment, my bliss” on a jeweled locket and give it to a girl and then be surprised when she kinda thinks you’re ok with the torment bit. And so round and round it went until … frankly I’m not even sure that one fight was any worse than all the others. Fairfax never saw Annie as a person, he saw her as beneath him, and disposed of her, out of possessiveness and anger sure, but also out of pragmatic convenience. As long as Annie lived she was a liability and posed a risk to his reputation and name. He can try and pitch their relationship as mutually toxic and harmful all he wants but the truth is only Annie was ever in danger in it.

And here is where I put my tinfoil hat on.

Because my theory is that Annabel Ward was drawn to Lucy and formed such an empathetic bond with her specifically because she saw Lucy as being in the same situation as her. Ghosts seem to have limited capacities and see things on a loop and devoid of context. To Annabel’s spirit the story of meeting a dashing young man through work, work both are passionate about and work that brings them intimately closer together, but he is of higher social class and is financially better off and also he holds a significant amount of power over her is, on paper, very similar. Lucy might not think Annabel is much like her, but Annabel’s ghost sees things in Lucy’s mind she recognizes. Her hidden emotions, the desperate besotted love she feels for a magnetic, powerful person in her life and the feeling of inadequacy and desire to be seen as good, as valuable to him are all familiar ones Annie latches onto. And while Lucy is too young and repressed and traumatized to recognize any of this, I think she still learns a lot from Annie. It’s not a coincidence that the biggest conflict between Lockwood and Lucy is that of inequality and disbalance of power. Lucy, from this point onward, will grow to dislike that Lockwood does not share anything with her emotionally and that he overrules or does not consult her opinions professionally. And to some extent I think it’s her learning from poor Annie Ward.

Yea OK this is where I have trouble buying the “killed instantly” story Fairfax tells to everyone including himself. The human neck is not made of LEGO bricks and it’s hard to kill a fully grown adult with a single blow. So unfortunately, and this is NOT A NICE MENTAL IMAGE so like, skip to the next point if you don’t want to read something that describes grievous bodily harm, abuse and murder, but unfortunately it’s very possible Fairfax very badly injured Annie but she did not die instantly. Like, he may have broken her spine, but while that would inacapitate her, it would not necessarily kill her. If this is true then she died a much slower and more terrible death. And a few things in the above section support this. Annie repeating she’s “cold” but not understanding why. The manifestation of sounds and how they overlap - the hammering that entombed her, tapping of a finger on plaster, the slowing beating of a heart. Did Annie die on some level aware that her lover was disposing of her even before her last breath? Ghostlock was not enough. She should have eaten him.

Very early on we get these hints of just how much of a capitalist nightmare Fittes is and how it slowly swallows up smaller agencies and clearly aims to become a monopoly and discards kids they have no use for. And also how many of those kids clearly fall through the cracks and end up in criminal organizations or doing the dirty work of wealthy unscrupulous magnates.

Book Lockwood is pretty violent in these low key, concentrated and brutally efficient bursts and it’s one of those things that remains enigmatically unexplained. It’s not just fencing too, it’s all sorts of stuff. In the next book he folds Ned Shaw like a tablecloth. Did Gravedigger Sykes teach him? Flo? Unexplained! Very hot though. You 100% can see where Lucy is coming from.

Smile counter is still at 9 since there was nothing much to grin at in these chapters, but I want to give a shout-out to George for chasing after Percy, a grown man armed with a gun remember, alongside Lockwood. Like that's good guts, George doesn't like action, he doesn't live for it like Lockwood does, but he doesn't shrink away from it either.

Now that I got every design done for the main cast, time to get back to work on the SSSSSuper AU! This'll just be a list of their super powers because I don't feel like drawing today but still wanted to do something under the cut :3

Cuddles

His super powers consist of two main things: Super speed and super hops! Extremely helpful for him to get to his friends faster and confuse the bad guys! He's one of the weaker heroes, but Splendid sees major potential in him!

Giggles

Her super powers are similar to a fantasy princess! She can hover temporarily with the flow of her dress! Her kisses can also be deadly and can temporarily hypnotize the baddies into doing whatever she wants!

Toothy

He isn't much, but what he does have can shake up the battlefield! Literally! His tail is the strongest on the super island! When he slams his tail (and butt) on the ground, he can cause a small earthquake and cause the ground below to crack! His teeth are also just as strong, as they can munch right through material as strong as steel! His singing voice is also powerful enough to break minds if he puts his heart into it, but he hasn't realized it yet!

Petunia

Much more of a pacifist than a fighter, she has a form of chlorokinesis made for healing and cleansing others! She is incapable of self defense, but always carries around pepper spray and can use her plants as a getaway ride should danger arise!

Flaky

Her powers only active whenever they are anxious! Her spines become much more sharp, able to shoot out of his skin, regenerate, pierce hard surfaces, and are extremely hard to break! When he's not anxious though, he has night vision!

Nutty

His powers can only activate if he's eaten a piece of candy, which is why he constantly carries them around (and because he's addicted to sugar too)! He has super speed and an extremely strong stomach and teeth that can digest anything! His claws are also ridiculously sharp, cutting through and climbing up any surface! His weakness is black coffee.

Sniffles

This one should be obvious! An extremely high IQ! An IQ of around 5,000 to be exact! He uses his smarts to improve island life and build weapons to enhance the arsenal of his own and others (for a price)!

Handy

No, he still doesn't have arms sadly. HOWEVER, he has telekinesis! That's how he was able to work for so long despite the lack of hands. Also his skull is made of metal so his headbutts are absolutely going to break anything. The perfect battering ram!

Flippy

His powers are fairly simple. Super speed and super strength! He's the weaker of the two inhabiting his body, but he's fine with this reality!

Fliqpy

Now this is where shit gets real in the body he resides in. Not only are his powers enhanced when he's fronting, but he also gains smarts as well! He also can drink blood to heal up too. He loses all of his charisma in exchange, but no one wants to be close to this mad man... right?

Splendid

Honestly, what powers doesn't he have??? Super speed, laser vision, flight, frost breath, super hearing, and more! He's everything that the other heroes aren't and more! He's seen as THE hero of the island! Which explains why he's the head of it as well. Still weak to kryptonut tho.

His powers are extremely similar to Splendid's! Some people even entertain the thought of them being siblings, which entertains the blue squirrel more than the red one. He's way less known than Splendid however due to his very few appearances around the place, but when he is seen in public, it's either going to be hectic or hellish.

Mime

His mimes become real! Like an invisible box around someone, a set of stairs leading to who knows where, or imaginary instruments! He can also clone himself as many times as he wants, BUT his powers get weaker the more it spreads to his clones. He wants to become a town hero one day, but in order to do that, he must learn to master his craft!

Disco Bear

His powers are very situational. He has the power to mind control people! However only whenever they listen to his music, which makes his parties absolutely the best! You just need to sign the waiver first before you enter his night club on the evenings he's performing... Does not having a heart attack after eating fried butter count as a super power btw?

Pop

Cub

In exchange for smarts, he can create forcefields for the folk he cares about most. Unfortunately he can't create any for himself and they can break after enough damage. Other than that, he has a little bit of pyrokinesis in his blood, but it's not strong enough to cause heavy damage.

His powers haven't fully formed yet, so it's a chaotic mess of what he can do at the moment! So far he's been recorded to shapeshift, spit acid, attract bad luck occasionally, breathe underwater, and/or have a very, very accurate aim!

Lammy

She can speak to inanimate objects/animals and they can talk back to her! She can also tell how you're feeling from just a glance, even if your face remains monotone! She's incapable of self defense, but she can lead her animal army against you, so just hope she only summons tiny creatures that don't have viruses and sharp teeth/talons!

Russell

He is a simple man trying to live a simple pirate life. Whenever he goes underwater, he turns into a merman and can breathe underwater! He's much better at combat whenever he's under the sea since he can actually move swiftly!

Mole

Lumpy

Ever since his acting gig that exposed him as a hero, he's leaned heavily into his agent role, finally using his powers extensively. Invisibility and disguises on the fly alongside super hearing and super reflexes to dodge enemy gunfire! However, even invisible/in disguise, he's our favorite blind and mute critter.

He is literally a walking talking metronome (as in the Pokemon move). Whenever he tries to activate his powers, it's always something random that will probably at least hurt everyone around him. Sometimes he gets the bad guys and sometimes he puts his friends in the hospital. However that doesn't set him back, he still believes he's a superhero!

Shifty

He has the midas touch AND super strength! Anything he touches with his bare hands turns into gold, making him suspiciously rich! He wears gloves so that he doesn't accidentally make his black coffee turn into liquid gold (does not taste good). He also can lock pick anything if that's a super power.

Lifty

He... He actually has none!!! Isn't that shocking in an AU made where EVERYONE is supposed to have powers? Well unfortunately not Lifty. He and his bro were both transported to the island because the agents there couldn't tell the difference between the two so they said fuck it and sent them both. What is powerful about this second hand man however is his jealousy.

Truffles

Teleportation. Yeah that's pretty much it. He doesn't use it to fight, but uses it to get away from conflict and observe people from afar as if they're living in his world.

Cro-Marmmot

Everywhere this block of ice goes leaves behind an ice trail! He can also speak via telepathy to anyone he wishes to. Otherwise it's good ol Cro-Marmmot from back in the day.

I thought I'd redo this by giving Harry a huge buff, assuming all his stats are at their maximum efficiency.

Max Stats Harry is an Incredibly Unstable Detective God. He is incredibly smart, able to make complex calculations quickly, act and lie with ease, and call upon random useless facts, but also totally blinded by his genius, constantly side-tracked by art and poetry, and compelled to lie for pretty much no reason. He is a master of his and others' emotions, in control of himself through almost any situarion, excluding ones to do with his ex-wife, feel others' emotions acutely, see the future, talk to the dead, and manipulate almost anyone to do what he wants, though this causes him to seem insane, and feel compelled to abuse this power. He's an ex-gym teacher, fast, strong, able to take any physical pain, excluding exposure to the pale, in touch with his instincts, and really likes drugs, but also really likes drugs, and feels compelled to threaten people and destroy things for no real reason. He has the steadiest of hands, can react instantly, pick up on the most invisible of senses, put up a tough facade, understand machines intimately, and is really, really cool, but is also incredibly jumpy and egotistical, and unable to open up emotionally.

He's really, really not okay emotionally, as the strain of knowing so much, hearing so much, feeling so much is killing him. He can take the pain, and he can force himself to get up and detect every day, but the pain is still there. All it takes is one fuck-up, one reminder of his wife, one crack in his tough exterior, and he'll want to go and kill himself. For the sake of making the fight more fair, Harry is equipped with his pistol and 6 bullets, and the full set of Fairweather T-500 Vitreous Enamel armour.

As for God Tier Vriska, it's Vriska, in all her broken, piece of shit mass murderer glory. Flight via the use of some kind of pixie wings, semi-immortality excluding just or heroic deaths, probability manipulation, and mind control. Outwardly, Vriska appears cold, and like a massive 8itch. She mocks everyone, attacls everyone, kills everyone, all with the same asshole grin on her face. Her persona is that of someone with the utmost confidence in herself, someone heartless and vile, cruel and mocking, someone who enjoys killing, but not before squeezing every last bit of suffering out of her victims. With her mind control also comes mind reading. She is privy to what others feel and why and uses it to her advantage. However, on the inside, if I am understanding her correctly, Vriska is actually a rather insecure and broken teenage girl. She kills first to feed her giant spider guardian thing, and second because its part of her persona, the kind of person she has come to idolize as an Alternian. A cold blooded killer. In reality, she derives no real pleasure from any of her immoral acts. They serve only to drown out her insecurity. She's canonically a rapist, mind controlling the wimp boy into kissing her only to throw him aside when it makes her feel nothing. The most profound experience she ever had was when, shortly before her death, she reflects on the time she killed said wimp boy. She actually felt bad, which was something she didn't understand. She couldn't figure out why she killed someone she actually liked. Vriska is also a horrible strategist. She's impulsive and quick to act on emotion, driven solely by her urge to be in total control, and to appear powerful. This causes her to be tricked by Cue Ball Man into killing someone she was mad at, and into creating an unbeatable foe, simply so she could gain the noteriety of killing him herself. In short, she's a profoundly broken and empty monster, driven solely by an endless pit of insecurity, given unreasonable amounts of power she isnt able to use to the best of her ability.

Do you guys ever see like someone from a different country say something about your country and you have to physically fight off the urge to get into a pointless argument on the internet? As an American it’s something that happens for me almost daily. People watch our movies and see the news and think they know exactly what we are all like and what it is like to live here. It is so annoying to see just people constantly just say wrong things about where you live an no one cares to be corrected. Like we don’t go telling people from Norway what it’s like to live in Norway and because we don’t do that people just say. “Americans don’t know anything about anywhere except America.” It’s like yeah we do know but we just don’t run around talking about places we don’t live? Like i don’t know enough about France to generalize France and I don’t want to. It’s just so not funny and so aggravating. Like if you are confused on American life style just ask someone. Don’t just go on a message board/ YouTube or tiktok and say something like. “Did you know ALL American bread is sweet like cake and they have never had real bread. And also their cheese is not even considered cheese.” Then everyone in the comments saying “ So true, I went there once 3 years ago and an American asked my mom who is from Italy if she was Mexican they are all so dumb.” then everyone just agrees. Like none of this happened. none of it is true... Our bread is fine. Some cheaper sandwich bread has a little bit of sugar but it is poor quality. Our cheese is normal. Those are Kraft singles and they are actually a Canadian product we import into the USA. It’s not even ours and we get the blame for it (But also shits good idc if it’s not legally cheese it’s fire) This is just xenophobia. Just because our government is the Super Power of the world doesn't mean the people who live here have any control over that. Think about it do you sitting at home reading this have any control over what your leaders do? No, you don’t they give you the illusion of control but they are going to do whatever they want to do in the end. I’m not saying people have to ‘love America’ because who does? But please recognize the people who live here are not all the same person. Every country has idiots every country has smart people. Most Americans (depending on the area) are very kind and helpful to people from foreign countries are are pretty excited to meet someone from a new place. Another diss I see is when an American will say something like I'm 24% Irish. And then people from there get mad and don’t understand why we do that. Gee maybe because we are trying to relate to you? We are stating curiosity about the heritage we share. 

And no I’m not trying to play the victim. I am just trying to combat xenophobia. Never have I heard an American say something like ‘I hate everyone from England’ and I live in a bright red state. We hate each other. We will say ‘fuck California or fuck Ohio’ We don’t sit around worrying about what someone in their own country is getting up to. We don’t go “can you believe people in Germany do XYZ?” We don’t act surprised not because are disinterested but because we didn’t expect you to be exactly like America. America is made up almost entirely of immigrants. Sure we might not know what Bulgaria is like or something but that’s because we don’t live anywhere close to it. Does everyone in Europe know everything about Africa and each country? No you don’t. We are on an island with a few other countries and we like to keep to ourselves. Sure our government does a lot of foreign relations stuff but we like to not involve ourselves with world affairs. The Unites states is so big that we have a hard enough time keeping up with what all the states are doing which are essentially different countries with different laws. I don’t understand this casual xenophobia it is mind boggling to me. For anywhere. Just because someone is from England doesn't mean they have bad teeth, just because someone is Finnish doesn't mean they are constantly drunk and just because I am America dosen’t mean I am overweight and unhealthy. Look I know I am a Hetalia blog but I feel like we at least as a unit understand what a stereotype is and how it hurts the people who live there when it goes too far. Sure jokes are okay and fun to an extent. But when it becomes hate filled and just cruel is when it is no longer a joke and when it turns into xenophobia. 

Also it’s not that we don’t care about the rest of the world. The average American is very interested in the world. It is very expensive for us to travel over seas. I’m going to Iceland and I'm planning 2 years in advance. It’s going to be 2,000 just for a ticket, nothing else. Never mind the house I'll rent, the food and the car plus everything else that I’ll be buying. It’s a dream of mine to travel the world but your average American does not have very much disposable income. And it is very expensive for us to fly abroad. I have been to Canada, Mexico and the Dominican Republic but these are all in North America. Most Americans act so excited to be in that country because it is a once in a life time opportunity even if you have been to Italy every year for 12 years it is probably the only time that American family will ever be there and possibly Europe. They probably saved for years just to go. America and Americans have a lot of problems but so do the rest of you.

I have a friend from Spain who I met when she was a foreign exchange student and she said America was nothing how she thought it would be. She actually thought that she would see guns everywhere and she would have to wear a bullet proof vest to school and that it was basically the wild west. She though everyone was going to be really stupid and ask dumb questions. She thought everyone was going to be rude. Guess what? She went back to Spain for 2 years and then moved to America. She said the people were nicer and it was easier to make friends. She now lives a few cities over and is married to an American guy who is actually from Denmark. They love it here. Don’t judge an entire country from bad news outlets, that is propaganda. Please if any of you have a bad outlook towards America for any reason please ask me or another American before you chastise the entire country for it.

Who do you think is the most powerful NSR character magic/physical wise?

Oh DJSS for sure. (and this is gonna get messy and not properly organized lol) [Okay while writing this I actually think Tatiana might be more powerful, but I wrote most of this from the perspective of DJ so just read and hang out til the end for Tatiana's part lol]

That bitch not only survives being blasted into space, but they also can shoot literal beams of ultra charged sunlight at you and change his size. Not to mention being able to throw asteroids and planets (disco balls) at you that he has full control of. I'm pretty sure if they were actually trying they could kill you in an instant.

Plus I just imaging them as being able to survive in situations that others would never be able to. Not having air, too cold or too hot of temperature, not having food for long amounts of time. DJ and his elemental half of him is very strong and able to do incredible things if he just had a kick in his step.

Sure we see Mama also change size (not counting the end where everyone grows) or Eve manipulate other people's minds, which is power right in itself. But the combination of things DJ can do (and potentially do) outweighs what we see the others do, at least in magical/non physical powers.

Like, going back to Mama because she was also someone I immediately thought of, she is strong, yes. We know this. But she is also using Yinu for attacks during the fight. Yinu shooting the notes while Mama is being more of a tank, with some attacks thrown in occasionally at the beginning and then mostly Mama attacking.

She does have great control over her powers as well, being able to grow far bigger than DJ did (but we don't know if DJ just didn't want to destroy his planetarium unlike Mama who didn't care and just broke the building) and being able to snap to just slam chunks of land down at B2J.

Her power comes more in the environment I feel like. If she couldn't root into the ground (like if it was all snow/ice, water, sand, or something like that) she would be far less effective in her powers. While someplace with lots of plants, like Natura, gives Mama an advantage in her powers.

But DJ's powers come mostly from within I feel. Yes he can use outward powers like the disco balls/planets, but my main thing I cling to is the beam of light he shoots out of his chest along with those noodle arms they could literally use to destroy shit if they were big enough and slammed those things down.

Going to Eve, she also has all her power come from within. I would not say she is very physically strong, maybe more than the average person/human as I feel like she works out, but her power comes entirely from within herself. But her powers are incredibly strong.

Eve can mess with people's minds, which is usually a very OP power to have where you can literally just snap someone's reality and fuck them over for life. But we don't know the true extent of her powers. Does she need the person to be able to SEE her illusions (that would make her useless to blind people, making Neon better than her as I see him as blind) or does she just need a brain to mess with (which goes into the question of if DJ even has a brain for her to connect with, because I don't think they have a real brain, making her powers useless against DJ and them being stronger than her).

Or her powers could be literally changing reality but only temporarily (or a combination of these). However, looking at all of this with Eve, even if she were able to mess with DJ based on her powers, it would be a thing of who's mind is better/stronger. And in that situation I think the two would be evenly matched. They are both extremely smart in their own fields and I feel like the two are self aware enough that they would be able to hold their own in a psychic match against the other. So yeah, compared to Eve, I think DJ can match her in her own powers along with outranking her in their physical prowess.

I don't even think I should have to mention Sayu because mer powers are all based in tech. Whenever ze is in the real world ze would either be a hologram or a robotic body that wouldn't have much power to it, not like when Sayu is in mer tech world. So DJ would easily defeat a Sayu that is in the real world.

But when it comes to the tech world, if DJ did whatever B2J did and went in to fight Sayu.... hmmm, I can see him having both and easy but also hard time. Sayu's attacks are quick and kinda unpredictable at times, with 4 people basically attacking you at once. However, DJ feels like they would be a very hard hitter with lots of health. Sure his speed wouldn't be that great, but he'd be able to destroy the programmer chip things easily. Heck he might literally be able to just attack Sayu directly or grab that trident when ze would try and hit the ground/him with it.

I would say that if DJ can survive/protect his head from constant onslaught of damage (which he seems very bad at doing) he would be able to defeat Sayu pretty easily. If he can't protect his head then Sayu would win, or at least it would be a tie as we don't know WHAT a black hole in that situation would do.

And all of that is if we aren't taking into account how close DJ is with Sayu (or how I see them). DJ would be able to read Sayu and the Crew very well, giving them an advantage over them because I can see the crew and Sayu talking to him about fighting or moves they know how to do, but DJ wouldn't talk to them about his own fighting. So DJ would be able to out beat Sayu just by knowing them really well.

1010 and Neon J are very skilled fighters (at least Neon is definitely). It would also be a 5 or 6v1. Already making it advantageous to 1010. However, 1010 isn't really that strong, they have their shields and their finger guns. Both of those won't really do much damage to DJ, as he will probably be able to easily destroy a 1010. And heck, he would be able to swat the factory right out of the sky.

However, once Neon truly joins the battle using 1010 bots, I can see the fight becoming more even. As explosives are used and quick attacks like the saws or staves, I can see DJ getting run down during the fight. Especially if Neon keeps his distance, which I think would be 1010/Neon's best advantage. If they stay far enough away, they could use their weapons to slowly whittle DJ down. The only thing they would have to worry about is the sun beam and asteroids (maybe the disco ball/planets depending on where they are fighting) which they can have their shields protect them (if fans are around).

So if 1010 and Neon can keep their distance from DJ, which does seem easy to do with their jetpacks/boots and the flying factory, then I can see them winning with some scratches to their bodies. But if this is a close combat fight, definitely DJ for the win just from the size changing alone (like imaging DJ could literally just pick up any of the 1010 and throw them lol, I mean they could do that with almost anyone but still).

And then with Tatiana, I do think she is powerful. She should be, with her fireballs and time movement, I do think her and DJ could be very evenly matched.

Like will that light beam even hurt Tatiana? I'm sure it would somewhat, but not NEARLY as much as any other character who gets hit by it. It definitely would not burn her at all. She could also smack those asteroids away or dodge them easily with her time powers.

I was going to say that I don't think she would do much damage to DJ, but honestly as I am thinking about it I think she would. Even if DJ grew really big, he would be able to block the fireballs very easily, but they would still HURT him. They are fire balls after all. And the ones he can't block, because we all know what a pain those pink parryable fireballs are, would be an easy shot to the head, making the damage even more significant.

I can see DJ doing some damage to Tatiana too though. Constantly hitting her with rocks and beams of light would slowly whittle her down, but she would dodge most of them. His attacks are slow and heavy but Tatiana's are quick and heavy. She would definitely be able to out damage him while still taking on only some damages.

So yeah, I am starting to change my mind. Tatiana would actually start to kick DJs ass. She is hard to hit, takes damage really well (even taken less damage from some of DJ's attacks because of her elemental side), and hits hard too (not to mention she hits with swords which is another added form of damage).

I actually think Tatiana would beat DJ in a fight. But I don't think Tatiana could beat everyone else like DJ could. Tatiana would have difficulty getting shots on Eve and 1010/Neon. I do think she'd be able to take on Sayu, unless something stops her fire (like if the level was coded as not being able to have fire in it because they are supposed to be under water) then I can see Sayu winning, but only by a margin because Tatiana is even faster than Sayu's attacks. And Tatiana would win against Mama alone because of the fire advantage, but might get knocked down if Mama and Yinu can work together fully (those triplets and music bombs would easily overwhelm Tatiana if she also had to dodge Mama at the same time).

So for a quick recap, I think DJSS would be the strongest overall character with Tatiana being able to beat him. There are instances where other Megastars could beat DJ but only if they have the right advantages (such as speed or range). If I had to rank everyone it would probably go:

for both Dez and Frank…i don’t exactly remember. they both kind of came into existence at the same time together a few years ago :0 they were already fully formed, but their personalities have developed like fucking CRAZY since then

Maya is actually one of my oldest characters!! she’s originally from my first ever “story” of sorts, that also had Sal and Jack in it as well. i remember her being specifically inspired by this one character in this manga/comic called “Nightschool” who was like. the head queen bee of the witch faction at the school jdhdhdhfhfhf like she was so ridiculously powerful at her age and was cool as a cucumber and smart as fuck and i loved her character tbh. wish there’d been more of her #BlackExcellence

Carmine was also someone else who more or less came into being as he is, except the helmet. he was actually supposed to have a fleshy, exposed skull instead, and i think that bit of him was inspired by Red Death from the Venture Bros show- that villain who preferred the old fashioned way of getting shit done and being a complete maniac but ultimately a good family guy and friend
