#for some reason Law and Hana ended up with two pictures of well

🖼️ Fiona + Sabo & Law + Hana?
Fiona I picture having a picture of Sabo smiling. His smile makes her happy and no matter how many times she sees it she feels butterflies in her stomach. At the start of their relationship she’d have denied it every time

Sabo would be sneaky about it I feel like. He loves looking at Fiona, but I see him enamored whenever she’s in her zone while baking. He loves her passion for it so I see him with a picture like this

Hana’s is also one of a smile. It’s rare to see Law smiling and she likes when he does. So she would have had to sneak in a picture when he didn’t see her. Or it would be him looking peaceful, maybe asleep, because again she’d have to sneak it since I don’t see him liking getting his picture taken and Hana likes Law when he looks calm and not stressed out because she does worry.

Law would be too embarrassed to be seen taking a picture of his girlfriend because god forbid anyone from the crew saw it. He’d never hear the end of it. So it would definitely be when Hana isn’t looking.

#any of these art pieces I don’t have the name of the artist so credit to them!!!!#this was so cute and I couldn’t figure out the pictures for a while#for some reason Law and Hana ended up with two pictures of well#I also tried to find cosplayers of Law and Sabo to have more realistic images that matches the ones I had for the girls but OH WELL#oc: fiona#fiona and sabo#sabo and fiona#sabo x oc#oc: walsh fiona#oc: hana#hana and law#law and hana#oc: greene hana#law x oc#one piece oc#one piece original character#one piece sabo#sabo one piece#law one piece#trafalgar law

Chapter 3 Heart’s Honesty
The Royal Palace, Cordonia...
Liam looked up when he heard the murmur of feminine voices passing by on their way to the solarium.
Creeping towards the cracked door, he peeped out to see who it was.
He caught just a glimpse of Olivia, Riley, and Madeleine turning toward the right.
Curious yet not wishing to get caught up in conversation with any of them, he settled back in his chair and continued to review a trade proposal Elisse had given him from Amalas.
Monterisso's queen was not going to wait around on Riley's baby in making inroads toward a strong, beneficial relationship between their two countries. Since the pregnancy had been announced a couple of months back, Liam and his close knit group of friends had spent numerous events speaking to pushy foreign monarchs.
The only bright side to meeting so often, were the moments he had with Elisse. They were few and far between and much too short to satisfy him. A dance shared, a few words spoken here and there, possibly a shared smile over a private joke. All ended up making her the first person he searched for when entering into a room.
"Would you like me to bring a tray in here, your majesty or would you prefer having lunch in the dining room?"
Liam looked up at one of the footmen. "A tray, please." He called the man back. "Is there some gathering this afternoon?"
"The Queen Mother is hosting some ladies for tea in the solarium." The footman replied.
"Ah." Liam tried to focus. "Do you know who she invited?"
"I know some, sir."
Liam cocked an eyebrow, trying not to be impatient.
"Duchess Riley is the honored guest." The footman began to go through the usual name of Cordonian ladies. "Queen Isabella and Queen Amalas have also arrived."
Liam grit his teeth at not hearing what he wanted to most. "Did Queen Amalas bring another lady with her, by chance?"
"I'm not sure, sir. Should I go inquire?"
"No." Liam muttered. "Just bring my lunch in here, please."
"At once, sir." He bowed and left the king alone.
"There you are."
Liam nearly cursed. "Drake. Join me, won't you?"
"Thanks." He sat down on the couch across from him. "Haven't seen much of you recently."
Liam held up the documents he was reading. "Kingdom business."
"Ah." Drake drummed his fingers on his pants.
Liam tried to tune him out.
"Riley's having a tea party with Regina and a few others."
"So I've heard."
"Did you know the Spy Queen has returned?"
"Yes." Liam responded. "So did Auvernal's queen."
Drake ran a hand through his hair. "So, uh, have you gotten anything out of the spy that has taken up residence nearby?"
Liam lowered the documents. "Spy? What are you talking about?"
"Your investigation with Queen Amalas’s cousin." Drake narrowed his eyes. "That is why you are spending so much time with her isn't it?"
"Lady Elisse is more of a messenger between me and Amalas." Liam bit out.
"I've never seen you make sure to share most of your dances with messengers before, much less spend anymore time than you have to."
"I am doing exactly what I promised." Liam informed him. "I am taking time to get to know her. All these new events have limited my chances to be alone with her."
"Alone with her?" Drake leaned forward. "Why are you wanting to be alone with her?"
At this moment, Liam did not want to admit to Drake that he believed he was ready to try and fall in love again. He had yet to actually have a real date with Elisse, much less kiss her. He also wasn't certain her own feelings about taking that next step.
She seems to like me, he thought. Is it more than a friend? Or am I simply fooling myself like I did with Riley?
"Li?" Drake waved a hand. "Still with me?"
Liam closed his eyes. "Yes, sorry." He cleared his throat. "If I am alone with her, then she will be more inclined to talk about things she would never feel comfortable doing at a crowded gathering."
Drake slowly nodded. "That's true. Sounds like a good plan."
A plan to test her and see if she feels as I do, Liam thought.
"Are you going to try and get her alone after the queen's tea?"
Liam's eyes widened. "Elisse is here?"
"Well, yeah." Drake tilted his head slightly. "Liam, you sure there isn't anything wr--"
"Positive." Liam excused himself. "I need to put these papers in the study. Feel free to call down to the kitchen for an extra tray for lunch."
***************
The Solarium, Royal Palace, Cordonia...
What would I do without all these pastries?
Elisse gratefully took another bite of a strawberry tart. If her mouth was full then she wouldn't be pressured to talk.
Which was a good thing considering how she felt about Lady Riley Walker.
It nearly turned her stomach at how everyone was complimenting the waitress turned duchess. There was only so much bowing and scraping for attention Elisse could stand.
Especially to someone who had hurt Liam so horribly.
It didn't take a mind reader to realize that the reason Cordonia's king was not actively courting or planning on having little princes and princesses of his own was sitting across from her, gushing about what kind of father Drake would be.
"He has already promised to take all the late night diaper changes." Riley giggled.
Elisse didn't bother to hide her eye roll, earning a slight kick from her cousin.
Amalas sent her the look that somehow conveyed the reminder that they were trying to gain favor with the woman carrying the royal heir so stop making faces at every little thing she says.
Feeling somewhat chastised for possibly letting her cousin down, Elisse averted her gaze and poured herself another cup of tea.
How much longer are we going to have to sit here?
"Bradshaw would have fainted dead away if I remotely asked him to change one of the twins diapers." Isabella's brittle smile formed with the mention of her husband and children.
Elisse's eyes narrowed somewhat as she studied Auvernal's queen. She couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was something not quite right. She cut her eyes to Amalas, wondering if she too was seeing this.
Her cousin tucked a lock of her own hair behind her right ear and gently tugged on the earlobe.
Elisse returned her attention to the conversations, satisfied with that secret signal that Amalas not only saw it but was planning on investigating it further.
"What about you?" Riley asked.
Elisse glanced up and realized that all eyes were on her.
"I'm sorry." She stammered. "Did you ask me something?"
"Can you picture your husband changing diapers?" Riley prodded.
"I'm not married." Elisse forced a pleasant smile. "It's difficult enough imagining him doing so when I don't even know what he looks like."
"Oh!" Riley glared over at Madeleine. "I'm sorry. I was told you were married."
Madeleine chuckled softly. "Perhaps if you read the reports I give you, you wouldn't make a mistake like that."
Riley ignored her and focused once more on Elisse. She was determined to find out more about this woman who seemed to always find a way to be near Liam.
"Enough baby talk." She decided. "Let's talk romance."
"Zeke is taking me to Switzerland next week." Penelope shyly said. "A trip for just the two of us."
Kiara laughed. "He is so excited about it. It is all he talks of whenever one of us asks him something." She smiled at Penelope's blush. "Très romantique, non?"
"Very." Hana sighed. "You two are so sweet together."
"Anyone else have that special someone?" Riley asked. "Or needs a little help from Cupid to get them to act right?"
Olivia shook her head. "By Cupid, you mean you."
"I do." The duchess replied. "I know all about stubborn men trying their hardest to keep from being with the perfect person for them."
Elisse sat up a little straighter. "Is that how you and his grace got together?" She did her best to make her question sound like polite curiosity. "Did you have to convince him to be with you?"
Amalas stilled. She had been the one to tell Elisse all of what happened during Liam and Madeleine's engagement tour.
Riley had a dreamy expression on her face. "Drake Walker put up quite the fight. It took all my I had to get him to be with me."
"When did you realize he was worth it?" Elisse asked while turning in her chair so that Amalas couldn't kick her again. "Most would have focused on someone who seemed interested."
Olivia snorted in agreement. "I will never understand how you could choose Walker over Liam."
Riley's smile turned tender. "What can I say? He was a complete marshmallow whenever we were alone. I saw past his snark and knew he had to be mine."
"I think it's terribly romantic." Hana added. "He has shown over and over that you are the most important person in his life."
While Hana and Riley went through the list of things that made Drake perfect, Elisse tbought of Liam's actions in each scenario.
"He took a bullet for her." Hana explained to the visitors.
"I will begrudgingly give him credit for that." Olivia grumbled. "That and for helping take Anton down."
Elisse mentally countered that with Liam coming and facing Anton and his minions alone to rescue the couple.
"He sounds like he will be a protective father." Amalas interjected before they continued to extol his virtues. "One that knows the value of family."
Issabella narrowed her eyes at her. "I agree. Which is why I would love to have him as father-in-law to one of my," she took a gulp of tea, "darling twins."
While the two queens tried to sway Riley toward choosing their children, Liam stepped into the sunroom.
Regina looked up and smiled. "Liam dear, would you care to join us for a cup of tea?"
He shook his head. "Thank you, but I came in here for something else." His charming smile flashed to the ladies. "I do hate to interrupt, but I need to speak to Lady Elisse a moment."
She set her teacup down. "Yes, of course, your majesty."
When Liam noticed the curious looks, he explained that he needed her to clarify one of the requests in the document she had given him.
"Perhaps you need Queen Amalas too." Isabella smirked. "Since she is Monterisso's ruler. Plus, I'm certian Duchess Riley would enjoy hearing something other than Prince Josip's darling ways."
Amalas kept her cool and did not rise to the bait. "I would be more than happy to." She winked at her cousin. "But Elisse was such a help to me as I drafted it that she knows it as well as I do."
"We will only be a moment." Liam promised, setting Elisse's hand in the bend of his arm.
Riley, Olivia, and Hana all shared a knowing look.
Regina noticed their exchange and cleared her throat.
"Would anyone care for more tea?"
**************
Once they were out of earshot of the solarium, Elisse spoke up.
"What problem did you come across in the trade agreement?"
Liam's cheeks flushed. "Actually, I haven't seen any problem."
"Oh." She attempted to not let her imagination get away from her. "Then why did you take me away from the tea?"
Liam rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm not--that is--I" he chuckled softly while turning to face her. "I guess I simply wanted to see you."
Elisse doubted that anyone could be more adorable than Liam was in this moment.
She smiled and lowered her eyes. "Would it be too forward to say that I had hoped to causally bump into you while here for the tea party?"
"Definitely. Much too forward." He responded in a serious tone.
Her head jerked up and she saw the humor in his eyes.
She playfully pushed him away. "That certainly cured me of ever doing so again."
He laughed out loud, took her hand, and pulled her along with him.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"To my study to look over the documents."
"But I thought you said there wasn't a problem."
Liam opened the door for her. "There isn't. But one must have their alibis in order, m'lady."
"What am I to do with you?" She teased once he shut the door.
Liam allowed his heated gaze to settle on her. Her question sparked his imagination. There were several things he would love for her to do with him.
"Is this where you spend most of your day?" She asked, exploring his bookshelves.
"For the most part."
Her eyes cut over to him. His casual stance as he leaned against the door was one she was noticing happened whenever they were near one another. His image he maintained to the rest of the world was one of proper, ram rod posture. There was rarely any softening or relaxed muscles.
Except with me, she thought.
Still highly curious and a touch nervous, Elisse sat down on a small couch.
"The Queen Mother told us about the ball you're hosting. How are the preparations going?"
Liam shrugged on his way to sit near her. "They must be going well. No one has come to me with any problems yet."
She turned towards him. "Is it for a special reason?"
You mean other than wanting a night where I can easily steal you away?
Liam kept that response to himself. "I suppose it is. Now that Lady Riley has gotten over most of the morning sickness, we can host a ball in honor of the royal heir."
Elisse was unable to control her facial expression. "I see."
Liam's eyebrows drew together. He had noticed that same irritated expression appear whenever the viscountess heard that particular name. "Elisse, do you not care for Riley?"
Her lips parted, ready to admit how she truly felt about the one that had hurt him, only to close shut. She knew she needed to be more diplomatic for Amalas’s sake.
She turned away from him and shook her head. "She seems pleasant."
Elisse was surprised she didn't choke on that word.
"Pleasant?" Liam's lips began to curve.
"Yes." She pointedly looked out the window, knowing he was amused at her answer.
If I look at him, it will all be over, she thought. She had to fight to keep her smile from appearing as he slid closer to her.
"You find Lady Riley pleasant?" He propped his elbow on the back of the couch and rested his head on his hand. "I don't think I have ever heard such a mild compliment toward her before."
Elisse was unable to resist and turned back toward him. He quirked an eyebrow in silent question when she simply stared at his face.
All she could think about was how generous he had been. Allowing Riley to live here to be near Drake. Giving her a title and a castle. Hosting their wedding. Standing as best man. Fighting to save their lives with little regard to his own safety. And now to naming their child as his heir.
Kindness barely scratchs the surface, she thought.
"Elisse?"
"Hmm?"
"What are you thinking so hard about?"
Without pausing to consider if she would end up embarrassed by her answer, she said exactly what was on her mind.
"You."
Liam didn't think any other answer could possibly top that one.
He slid his hand over hers. "I think of you often."
"You do?"
"No." He grinned at her frown. "It is more than often. You are rarely if ever far from my mind."
Her warm smile returned. "I suppose I am the same way."
Liam drummed up the courage to ask her out. "Elisse, would you--"
"Liam, I wanted to--" Riley's eyes widened at the pair on the couch. "Sorry. Drake told me he had seen you come in here. I didn't know you were still reviewing..."she noticed there wasn't one scrap of paper between them, "trade documents."
"We cleared that matter up quickly." Liam kept a hold on Elisse's hand. "Is there anything you need, Riley?"
"Yes, um, the ball. What exactly did you have planned?"
"Is there anything other than dancing, drinks, and food that Cordonians do at balls?" Elisse teased.
Liam chuckled. "Other than taking a moment to obsess over our apples, not really."
Riley narrowed her eyes. Their little jokes and touches were more serious than she thought.
"I wanted to come in and offer my help, if needed." She muttered.
"Thank you, but everything is under control."
Riley hesitated a moment. "Liam, Drake and I were hoping to speak with you," she glanced at Elisse, "privately."
Liam sighed softly. "I'll join you and Drake in the west drawing room in a moment."
"Okay." She couldn't think of a reason to stick around and see what was going to happen between him and the viscountess.
Once she shut the door, Elisse focused on Liam. "I suppose I should find Amalas."
"Not yet, please." He lowered his eyss to her hand in his. "Lady Elisse," he cleared his throat, "I was wondering if you would like to have dinner with me one night."
"Of course. I know we should to discuss the terms--"
"Not for work." He quickly interrupted. "I'm asking you for a date."
Elisse wondered if he could hear her heart pounding. "I would love to."
Liam released the breath he had been holding. "Then I will call you this evening and we will discuss the details."
She stood up, suddenly more nervous than she had been. "I look forward to it."
Liam lifted her hand to his lips. "So do I."
***********
"Drake, they were definitely not talking about trade deals." Riley paced back and forth. "He was holding her hand!"
"Take it easy." He placed his hands on her shoulders. "You know stress isn't good for you and the baby."
"What if Liam starts insisting that we sign an arranged marriage between our baby and Queen Amalas's son?" She cradled her small belly. "What will we do then?"
"We'll fix this." Drake reassured her. "Aren't you the one to point out how we always find a way to defeat those that come at us?"
She slowly nodded.
"Then don't worry." He pressed a tender kiss to her forehead. "We got this, Brooks."
The couple looked up when Liam came into the room.
“You wished to speak to me.” He sat down in one of the chairs.
“Liam,” Drake began, “what were you speaking to Elisse about?”
“We were discussing dinner plans this week.”
"Dinner plans? You have a date with Elisse?" Riley asked.
"Yes." Liam didn't bother to hide his smile. "We've had dinner and lunches together numerous times, but..." His voice held a hint of the true happiness he felt. "It has always been work related. I thought it was time for us to be together for no other reason than because we want to."
"But she's the Spy queen's cousin!" Riley exclaimed.
Liam quirked an eyebrow at her. "I know who her family members are."
Riley motioned to Drake to say something.
He cleared his throat. "Li, you know we only want to see you happy." He shifted under Liam's piercing gaze. "But we don't know if we can trust Amalas or anyone associated with her."
"I know I can." Liam's tone held a warning to not push him on this. "Elisse has never brought up the subject of your child marrying Amalas's son."
"She is probably waiting until you get more comfortable around her." Riley grumbled. "Seems like something a secret agent would do. Seduce the target into agreeing--"
Liam's hand slammed down on the end table next to him, causing the couple to jump in surprise.
"That's enough!" He snapped. His kingly authority reverberated within the formal drawing room. "I won't hear another word against Elisse." His blue eyes sparked with fury. "What proof do you have?"
"None." Riley stepped back from his glare. "Liam, you're so trusting that anyone can take advantage of your kindness."
"Yes," his soft tone scared them even more than his shouting. "I can see where you would both think that, given that I trusted you."
"Liam, what are you talking about?" Riley asked.
"I'm talking about the fact that nearly three years ago I trusted you with my heart." His eyes went from one to the other. "I laid it at your feet, Riley, and asked Drake to guard you while I tried to help uncover this conspiracy against you." He folded his arms. "If anyone shouldn't be trusted in this kingdom at the moment, it would be the two who betrayed me in the worst possible way."
Tear slipped down Riley's cheeks. "Liam, I...I thought you understood." She swallowed. "You stood there as Drake's best man at our wedding. You named our child your heir."
"Just because I understood, forgave you, and accepted it; that does not necessarily mean that I have forgotten." He replied. “I still trust you, but I have become more cautious in doing so.”
"Liam," Drake's voice cracked with regret. "I'm sorry. I had no idea you still felt--"
"I don't." Liam interrupted. "I haven't for a while now." His stance relaxed with his next words. “Since meeting Elisse, I have realized that I am able to move on from the past.”
He thought of the excitement he felt just in anticipating seeing her again. That desire to touch her. Finally feel what her lips against his. Seeing her smile. Holding her close.
He focused again on two people he still considered his best friends. "Regardless of what her cousin does, Elisse is innocent. She is the woman I intend on knowing on a personal level. You either support me in that and treat her with every bit of friendship and courtesy she deserves or you can return to Valtoria until you are able to do so."
With that, Liam left the couple with jaws dropped.
**************
Pier at Cordonia’s Capital a few nights later...
"Elisse?" Liam called out when he finally reached The Semblance sailboat.
She popped up from the galley. "Liam?"
His smile formed when she came over.
She climbed up the side, held onto the various ropes, and leaned forward. "Ready to come aboard?"
"You know, I'm not exactly fond of boats." He admitted. "One too many bad experiences."
Her smile turned tender. "I know. That's why we aren't going sailing." She tilted her head to where she had a table set. "I just wanted a spot where I could have you to myself."
Liam grabbed the same ropes and pulled himself until he was face to face with her. His lips curved at her slight intake of breath. "I could be on board with that."
She rolled her eyes playfully while groaning. Gripping his blazer she tugged him onto the boat. "Only you are cute enough to get away with that awful pun."
"I try." He teased.
She slipped her arm around him. "I hope you like what I prepared." Her eyes darted around as if she was worried someone would overhear. "Felix has been trying his hardest to teach me how to cook."
"Elisse, you shouldn't have gone to so much trouble." Liam tucked her long dark hair over her shoulder. "Just having a moment with you away from court and our duties is enough for me."
"Liam," she slid her arms up his chest, "I have a confession."
He placed his hands on her waist. "Oh?"
"Years ago, Amalas began a file on you." Her eyes darted to his lips before lifting once more to his crystal clear blue eyes. "And I read it."
Liam grimaced. "It sounds like you're about to say something I'm not going to like."
Her tender smile caused him to pause in pulling away.
"On the contrary," she stepped closer to him, "everything I read, I liked." Her dark brown eyes held his. "That's why I hope you like everything I've done."
Unable to resist the temptation any longer, Liam captured her lips in a heated kiss.
Her fingers tangled in his hair as he continued the sweet exchange.
Their eyes met as they began to part, only for them both to rush forward in a more passionate kiss.
"Liam." She said in a breathless voice when his lips brushed her cheek. "I've been waiting on you to do that for months now."
He chuckled, cuddling her close. "You have no idea how often I wanted to shove everything off my desk and yank you on it."
Her eyes twinkled. "I might have had similar thoughts."
He thought his face was in danger of being set in a permanent goofy grin.
A breeze brought their attention back to the carefully set table.
"I don't want to let your dinner go to waste." He murmured, kissing her neck.
"It probably tasted horrible anyway." She smiled at hearing his laughter. "I would like to get a second date out of this. My dinner might have sent you running as far away from me as you can."
"It wouldn't." He pressed his forehead against hers. "I have no intention of running away from you, Elisse."
Her smile took his breath away. With a slight joyful squeal, she kissed him once more.
"Would you like to lay here and watch the stars appear?" She motioned toward another section of the boat she had piled with an air mattress, blankets, and pillows. A bucket with chilled champagne was on hand with two glasses.
"Love to." He let her go, watching as she retrieved some strawberries and set them nearby their pallet.
He popped the champagne and filled their glasses.
"What should we toast to?" He asked.
"To the longest waited first date ever." She tapped her glass against his. "And how happy I am to finally be here with you."
Liam held her gaze as he downed his glass. He set it to the side and pulled her back in his arms. "Nowhere near as happy as I am."
****************
A few ships over, Olivia lowered her binoculars.
“The date seems to be going well.” She whispered.
“Do you think she can be trusted?” Hana asked.
“There’s only one way to know for sure.” Olivia passed the binoculars to her accomplice. “We need to dig up all we can on the viscountess and queen from Monterisso as well as everything I can on Auvernal’s monarchs.”
“If Liam falls in love with her,” Hana took a deep breath, “it will hurt him horribly if we discover she is using him.”
“He’s already been through so much.” Olivia murmured. “I don’t want to be the one to deliver news like that to him.”
“But we promised Riley we would investigate Elisse.” Hana shifted. “Do you think she is wrong about suspecting her?”
“I--” For the first time, Olivia doubted they needed to spy on Elisse. “I honestly don’t know.”

I love all the fruits basket pairings. I want to give my thoughts on every couple and how well they compliment each other. There's obviously going to be manga spoilers.
Let's start with my favourite couple. I do like all of them, though. These are not my rankings.
Kyo & Tohru: They are just meant to be. As everyone frequently says, Tohru is good for anyone. Because Tohru is just wife material - she knows cooking, likes household chores, isn't selfish and self-centered, cherishes and genuinely cares about the people around her, and extremely loyal to the one person she loves. Whereas, Kyo is the one most suited to her. While everyone, including Kyo, got help from Tohru, Kyo was the one who was by her side whenever she needed someone the most. He helped her get over the facts with her dad and made her realize that her dad wasn't the villain. Despite knowing he would turn into a cat, he hugged her, wrapped up in blankets. Oh boy, that was hot. Not only that, they both emotionally support each other. Their characters might be different but they have a lot similarities, and persons like them would probably get along really well in real life. They do domestic work together. They are both morning persons. They both can cook. They are good listeners. They get flustered a lot and are shy. Oh, my gosh! I really need to stop ranting. I will keep on going about Kyoru. So guys, all in all, Kyoru is a perfect couple.
Haru & Rin: The iconic gothic couple. Gosh, their dressing style is fab. I read somewhere in the extra of the author of furuba that Hatsuharu picked up these kind of fashion sense from Rin, before that he used to dress up like Kyo - like wear hoodies, t-shirts and sneakers. That's how much Rin influenced him. On the other hand, Rin started liking accessories made by Haru. I love their influence on each other. Plus, Rin and Haru would do anything for each other. Haru is a natural kind and gentle person, except when he goes Black. Whereas, Rin has a very sharp tongue, but still cares about Haru the most. Rin is probably the best to keep Haru in check since he is a space cadet, god knows what he thinks all the time. On the contrary, Haru is the best to be by Rin's side. As everyone Rin had in her life thought of her as a burden, Haru genuinely cares about her and is stubborn to not her go - that is the exact thing Rin needed. Not to mention, Haru is the type to donate everything to others and Rin is the type to not share anything. Therefore, they balance each other out perfectly.
Yuki & Machi: A messy, sweet couple. They are both so unhygienic, it's hilarious. They compliment each other perfectly. One has a sassy mouth, and another has a sharp tongue. God bless their child! Their understanding is very cool, too. Machi is one of those very few people who saw through Yuki - his loneliness and insecurities. We can see in chapter 136 that Machi is someone who gets insecure with her boyfriend but doesn't try to show it, which is very normal. I mean, if my boyfriend was that good-looking and charming, I probably would handcuff him with myself. On the other hand, the way Yuki expresses his love for Machi is so adorable. When he broke that perfect box of chalk for Machi, I was triumphed with delight. Not to mention, Mogeta is a bridge between their love. I love these two together.
Hiro & Kisa: Young love is beautiful - as long as Akito doesn't interfere. Hiro is a complete jerk, no arguments about that. But I love his personality completely flips when Kisa is there. I laughed my head off in the scene where Momiji texted Hiro for coming to the summer getaway and Hiro was bad-mouthing it, but as soon as Kisa said she wanted to go, he agreed almost immediately. Kisa is a sweet angel; she needs someone like Hiro who would fulfill her needs without getting bothered about it. As we have seen, Hiro is very caring for those he loves - his little sister, mom and Rin. Although, Hiro and Kisa might have some fights occasionally since Hiro has a trash mouth, he crosses the line sometimes. But in the end, they both will apologize for the mistakes and solve it.
Hatori & Mayu: Spring comes when snow melts. Kana is definitely someone who Hatori will never forget, neither will he replace her with Mayu. Mayu has created her own special place in his heart, she warmed his frozen heart once again in her own way. At first, I just wanted someone to love Hatori, no matter who it was - because that guy deserves all the love in the world. But Mayu is perfect for him. She can deal with almost any situation given that she is a high school teacher. Plus, she can understand people well as she deals with problematic children all the time - Kyo, Momiji and Haru. She definitely will understand Hatori and is qualified to be by his side. What to say about Hatori? He's already perfect. I'm glad that Mayu's unrequitable love become true and Hatori's empty heart was once again occupied.
Kureno & Arisa: Age is just a number. I admit their age gap is kinda weird, but its pretty common in the place I live in. I don't really mind as long as there is true love. They fell in love quiet earlier than others, it was fast-paced. It was a mutual love at first sight. Who doesn't love that? If I were to find any similarities between these two, I find nothing too spectacular - they are both dedicated people. Arisa is kinda rowdy, not feminine. On the other hand, Kureno is calm, quiet and the type to go along with anything. Arisa doesn't put up with anything, and Kureno put up with Akito - the worse person to be with. I think their relationship would go really well because Kureno has handled Akito's temper-tantrums for years, so he definitely can deal with Arisa. Also, Arisa would go well with him since he is basically a Tohru to her. They have their dynamics, but in the end, love wins.
Ritsu & Mitchan: When you add two negatives, it becomes positive. Both of them were pretty down towards themselves and were prone to commit suicide. But now having each other in their lives, I'm pretty sure, the thought of dying rarely crosses their minds. As Tohru said, the world doesn't need anybody, it's the people who need each other. They both give reasons to each other to live, that's why they are well-suited. Ritsu and Mitchan are both chaotic, it's ridiculous to watch their panicked reaction in sync. They are pretty shy as well. It's pretty cute. We didn't get to see much of them in the manga and anime so far, I hope we learn how their relationship went. I'm sure they will grow to be more confident.
Shigure & Akito: Jealousy is both love and hate at the same time - that's the exact case with these two. They both hated each other for jealousy because they loved each other - also called complicated relationship problem. I think the method Shigure used to get Akito back was pretty harsh and vengeful, but it serves Akito right for treating the other zodiacs so horribly like they were toys. The thing that bothers me most is - Shigure loved Akito even before seeing her. Its pretty messed up if you ask me. But I'm glad, at the end of the series, they both solved their issues and became dedicated to each other, instead of playing around. But Shigure, you seriously need to stop flirting with other females, otherwise I won't be surprised if Akito divorces you or pushes you off the second floor.
Ayame & Mine: The nonsensical duo. Someone who can handle Ayame is god-tier, trust me. As we all know, Ayame lives in his own little, fantasy world. I'm very curious to know - how did someone like Ayame fell in love? How did he even notice Mine when all he looks at is himself? We will never know. But as long as there is someone out there who can love him, it's all fine. Mine is pretty level-headed and just as crazy as him. She can go along with his crazy, nonsensical ideas. Plus, they are both into creating things. What could be better than having the same interests as your partner? You will never lack a topic to talk about. And it seems Ayame is pretty understanding of Mine. Not to mention, when Ayame told Mine that he was born into this world to love her, I screamed with tears rolling down my eyes - that chapter was emotional as fuck, alright? All in all, I love these crazy duo.
Kazuma & Hanajima: I can't imagine this ship sailing. I love them both individually. I do not ship them. I can't picture Hana-chan as Kyo's mother when Kyo is probably older than her - although it would be hilarious to see them as mother-son duo. If you connect the dots, Tohru would be her daughter-in-law. Hanajima would be triumphed about that. We still don't know how Shisho feels about it. He probably would never marry, considering that might hurt Kyo's fragile heart or so he thinks. But who knows? I love them both as individuals. Hana-chan is gothic fab, and Kazuma is the best fucking dad in the whole series. But if the author wants them together, I won't actually hate it. It's okay, I suppose. As you all know, age is just a number and jail is just a room.
That's it for all the ships. Have I missed any? Do tell me.
I feel bad for Momiji and Kagura. We didn't get to know about their respective partners in the original manga. That's what happens when you fall in love with the main two protagonist 🤦🏻♀️
I don't really care much about Kagura because I know she will found someone suitable - I do pity that guy. He would get beaten to death everyday like Kyo.
Momiji needs to find someone who will appreciate his angelic heart and treasure him. I hope he finds someone even better than Tohru - someone better than Tohru might be impossible as she is one of a kind - at least, someone who loves him truly.

Yoongi fucked up.
Or at least that’s what he thinks as he sits next to you in the private dining area of La Scala, hand gripping your thigh in a quiet warning as you pick at the variety of Italian food littering the table with clear disinterest. He supposes he shouldn’t be surprised—in the two months that it had been since you moved in, you had made it more than clear to Yoongi that you had no interest in being a real part of his inner circle. You weren’t business minded in the same way that he was, nor were you a fan of putting on airs outside of work. Yoongi recalls a moment at a nightclub in Miami when you ran into members of a video production team his company often worked with. Your eyes quickly glazed over as Yoongi spoke to them and you excused yourself to the bar quickly, only to return five lemon drops drunker and much more handsy than before. “Talking to them,” you later explained, “felt like a night at the club.”
Still, you could have at least tried to be interested in what Namjoon and his wife were saying. The couple was, after all, the whole reason you were at the resort in the first place. The Kims enjoyed nothing more than displaying their extreme wealth at the expense of other people’s discomfort. Yoongi couldn’t exactly say no to the impromptu getaway, as there was a music festival happening and it would be the perfect opportunity to connect with some up and coming artists—or at least, that’s what Namjoon said over the phone two weeks ago. However, you were less than thrilled when your husband explained this to you. You were still getting used to your new neighborhood, your new life, your new country. While a vacation with him was a nice thought, you just didn’t feel settled enough to enjoy it. You weren’t having a good time at the resort and it was obvious to Yoongi.
“You’re not too hungry, are you?” Namjoon’s wife asks you, dark brown eyes soaking in your bored form. Yoongi squeezes your thigh tight because he knows the look she is giving you. He’s seen it a thousand times before, though it is usually reserved for the married men in suits attempting to butter her up with flirtatious compliments at various banquets and galas. Most don’t look at the subtle warning for what it is, taking her small stature and gentle tone of voice at face value. Even Yoongi has to admit that she looks like a porcelain doll in her black and gold Versace dress, but he knows better. Kim Hana is literally a hell hound in heels.
“We had a big lunch.” You offer up dryly, not even looking up from the salad you shuffle around your plate and Yoongi swears he’s going to make you regret it later on tonight.
“Interesting.” Hana responds in a tone suggesting that she is not at all interested.
It’s not that Yoongi doesn’t like Kim Hana. Just the opposite in fact—they were great friends before he married you. They often stood back from the crowd together, making fun of the men and women that Namjoon was all too good at schmoozing with. Namjoon was one of the first artists he worked with and Hana had been overlooking his contracts since before she even passed the bar. But when news of his marriage broke, Hana reacted with vitriol; when she found out he didn’t have a prenup, she almost stabbed him with the heels of her Loubotins.
“So… my husband tells me you’re a stripper.” Hana starts, a small smile on her face that is the picture of innocence even though her question is anything but. Yoongi freezes at her words and Namjoon chokes slightly on his wine, but your only reaction is to sit up a bit straighter and drape a hand over the one Yoongi has on your thigh.
“My love,” Namjoon begins, resting a hand against the back of his wife’s neck, “I don’t think this is appropriate dinner conversation.”
“But why not?” She persists. “We’re just talking about our jobs, honey. What’s inappropriate about that?” When no one says anything, Hana continues. “We don’t have children to dote on, we just travel and work. Since we’re traveling currently, we might as well discuss work. But the three of us,” she waves a manicured finger between Namjoon, Yoongi, and herself, “know just about all there is to know about our jobs. I want to learn something new. What’s so wrong with that?”
“Nothing,” you speak up for the first time that night in a voice much calmer than Yoongi had anticipated. “And to answer your question, I was.”
If Hana was shocked by your honesty, she doesn’t show it. Instead, her face reflects excitement and she leans into you. “Really now? That’s so different.” You shrug. You shrug like it’s not that different at all. Hana’s face falls a bit, but she recovers quickly and asks, “So what did that entail? Spinning on a pole and taking your clothes off for men?”
It’s meant to be a joke—Yoongi knows it’s meant to be a joke, but Hana asks the question with such sincerity that he kind of wants to puke because it’s a classic Hana set up. Answering seriously will only make you the butt of the lawyer’s jokes for months on end. He can feel himself heating up, anger on the tip of his tongue.
But you just smile gently and say, “No, I prayed with them.”
Yoongi snorts. Namjoon laughs. Hana pouts and sits back in her seat. “I’m being serious you know. I am interested. I would never be mean to my friend’s wife.” Yoongi rolls his eyes at her well rehearsed lie.
“Yes I took my clothes off for money,” You answer, leaning up against Yoongi, “and I danced on a pole. Gave lap dances too. Any more questions?”
As it turns out, Kim Hana has plenty. Most of them are traps, set ups for jokes and snide remarks to make you feel insecure; but you answer each of them with a grace and charm that catches everyone off guard. You speak as though you are talking to a child, using simple sentences to explain things like nipple tassels and pole rash. Even Namjoon’s curiosity gets the better of him and he starts asking questions about your former profession too. It’s all going so well that Yoongi begins to think he didn’t fuck up after all.
Later that night, you sit in the bathtub singing along to a song that has been constantly playing on the radio when Yoongi slips into the bathroom to praise you for how well you handled yourself. However, you stop his affectionate act. “You can’t possibly think that this was the first time someone’s questioned my career.” You tell him, arms coming up to rest on the cool porcelain edge of the tub.
“Is it not?” He questions, leaned against the counter.
You roll your eyes. “You’re not my first boyfriend.”
“I’m your husband.”
“Might not even be my first husband,” you respond back sarcastically. Yoongi scoffs, but you continue, “I’ve answered every gory question out there. Hell, I’ve met every curious mom, dad, sister, brother, cousin, best friend, and in-law that you can imagine.” Yoongi knows by the way you say curious that you really mean hateful. “Hana wasn’t doing anything special. I’m used to it.” Anger flares through Yoongi’s form at the thought of people harassing you so much that it became a routine. He never liked to think of your life before him, to think of the ways in which people took advantage of you before he could protect you. It sickened him.
“I don’t like it,” He states somberly. Then, carefully, he crouches beside the tub and puts his hand on your neck to pull you closer. You lean into his touch, a small smile on your lips. “Never again, okay? I promise. If anyone even starts, I’ll end them.” He only kisses you when you nod, soft and slow.

Tomino x Hosoda on Wolf Children
Source - https://char-blog.hatenadiary.org/entry/20140720/1405889329
Date: April 2013
--What was the reason behind Mr. Tomino giving this movie such high praise when it was released?
Tomino: Anyone who has experienced child-raising understands that children are an uncontrollable “wolf-like” existence to parents. I saw some opinions that marrying a “wolf” is disgusting but there are times when a boyfriend/girlfriend who seemed beautiful during the romantic stage suddenly changes into an existence even harder to understand than a wolf. In this way, [Hosoda] took a very normal story that everyone experiences and skillfully used an animation metaphor to keep the film within a very easy to watch time frame. It's frustrating to admit but Director Hosoda has become very capable.
Hosoda: I was very encouraged by your earlier comments so I’m sincerely grateful to you.
Tomino: In preparation for this interview, I read many reviews of the film and was reassured by what I saw. Mothers who are currently raising children would write, “this film is a very accurate portrayal of a mother.” I thought, finally animation has produced a “film” that could appeal to a wide audience. There’s something revolutionary in a different way from Miyazaki films. For example, among the reviews, there were some wondering whether the director was conscious of Waldorf Education while making the film.
Hosoda: To get straight to the point, no, I was not aware. The main mother character, being placed in the special situation where she could not rely on general medical institutions to raise “the wolf children”, had no choice but to prepare for children's illness with books, ranging from the classics like "Childcare Code", "Encyclopedia of Childcare" and "Pediatric Medicine", to books on natural remedies. It was simply a matter of Waldorf Education being among those books but what’s interesting is the audience noticing this book cover in the corner of the screen and debating the theories written in those books on their blogs. I think it represents how urgent of an issue child-rearing is for parents.
Tomino: I will not affirm or deny that particular theory of education, but I was surprised that mothers, who have a deep knowledge of children's literature and education, made statements that captured the work to this pedigree. As I thought, this work is seen by a fairly wide range of people. However, when I heard the opinions of the anime industry, I got the sense that they were discussing within the narrow confines of genres. In the first place, I don't really understand the tendency to organize media by identifying people into markets or generations and I think this tendency is making recent works lacking.
Hosoda: I too, think that this newest work has come to a place outside of the usual anime context. Up until Summer Wars I wanted to find out how far I could take world building and see what’s beyond that, while staying within the genre film. On the other hand, there are "movie fans" who have a wide field of view and on the other, there are also many people who like genres films like action, horror, romance, etc. From those people I received criticism which prioritized the laws of genre films, for example, "If you write a werewolf character, that character has to be persecuted and shot by the police and die.”
Tomino: That’s exactly what someone caught up in genres would say. Anime has a narratology centered around action, but I felt Wolf Children went outside of that. The very fact that unfamiliar terms such as “Waldorf Education” came up is proof that there are people who believe this movie goes beyond the confines of anime. In other words, it was conveyed that Hana, the mother character, is not as anime-like and pretty/delicate as the picture, but a woman who carried out strong child-rearing with considerable knowledge and insight. When I saw those reviews that touched upon the very core themes of the plot, I thought that anime was finally established as a medium.
Hosoda: Exactly. This time, I was very happy to see women, especially those in the middle of child raising, discuss this film from the viewpoint of a fellow mother. There was sound debate, including criticism. It's proof that the motif of this film is universal. After all, in both movies and anime, world building and expressions have wider potential than genres.
Tomino: That's exactly right. In my case, I’m very greedy, so if I am to express something to the world, I want it to become popular. I'm not interested in producing something that is only accessible to a narrow group of people who like certain genres. If you start making pandering work for niches, you will become a niche yourself and you will set up a flag to be discriminated against and beaten by society. If you are given the opportunity to express yourself in a public place and show your will, it’s better to be liked by everyone. Of course, being accepted is the premise that business is built upon as well. So, people tend to go in the direction of "it is easier to sell if you specialize by genre", but a work created upon that idea will last for at most two to three years. If I am spending a lot of money to make it, I want to do big business, show a concept that will last 10 years, 20 years, 50 years, and make it sell for a long time. There are quite a lot of works that are forgotten after the momentary box office profit. In that sense, Wolf Children definitely showed a new frontier of "things to express to the public" and I believe that the evaluation and recognition in the next 10 or 20 years will be much higher than it is now.
--What kind of expectations does Director Tomino have for Director Hosoda for the future?
Tomino: I don't have any particular expectations, but more what I would like people to pay attention to is the fact that not everything was made by Mr. Hosoda. The existence of scenario writer, Ms. (Satoko) Okudera is huge and it must’ve only been possible because they were in a realistic space where they could observe children. To the point where you might not have been able to make it if the timing was off by about a year or two. This is a realistic work. So while I think, wow you did really well, unfortunately I also think you’ll never have another chance like this. The moment you are told, "that was a hit, let's do it again!", you may fall with a boom so watch out for that. *tl note cough cough* mirai no mirai *cough*
Hosoda: I may have obtained credibility from the box office hit but I believe every movie comes down to the original project proposal. In the future as well, it will depend on the spirit of challenge and fun imbued in each and every proposal. Instead of thinking, “This particular one was a hit so the next one has to go even higher,” I would like to seek a unique enjoyment of movies to share with audiences for each project. So even if I am asked to make another installment of this movie…
Tomino: I mean you can’t, can you?
Hosoda: Yeah, it is a complete work as it is. I will move on to the next new work. At that time, I have to forget all the previous works and start from scratch thinking about what is interesting in this world.
--How do you feel about Mr. Tomino’s previous statement about making work for the public?
Hosoda: In the case of Wolf Children, the starting point of my idea was from a very familiar place. At the time, my wife and I were having a hard time making children. Therefore, the desire to raise a child and become a parent is directly reflected in the movie. At the same time, I thought that the motif of "raising children" is universal not only to us Japanese but to all over the world. Anyone in any country experiences it. Even if you have no children, you experience being raised by your parents. It's a story common to all humankind, so I thought this was a project that had the potential to be viewed by everyone. That's why I said something like the "child-rearing" film genre, but I realized that there is no such movie (laughs). In the first place, it is difficult to film a live-action movie of a situation like "growing up slowly", and I can't find a movie about a child where the parent is the main character. It’s always the conflict filled story of “overcoming parents in order for their children to grow up." I planned it as a "story from an observational perspective" about how parents watch the growth of their children, but I was really in trouble because there was nothing to refer to. Originally, movies originated from counterculture, so I think that is also related.
Tomino: I was surprised to hear that, but it again reaffirmed the superstition that we could express freely, it’s actually not free at all. The fact that Wolf Children is taken for granted even though it’s doing such special things is amazing. Because at the end of the day it's a cliché story, isn't it? But due to the fact that it is universal …….
Hosoda: Yes, it's a very cliche story you can find anywhere.
Tomino: But the moment it was illustrated through animation techniques, it looks revolutionary. This is actually an embarrassing story because something too obvious should not look innovative. It's a tremendous work because even that aspect can be learned from it.
Hosoda: No no, as a creator, I just started from a very straightforward ideal and aspiration, thinking, "I want to do something like this, something like that, when I have a child," in line with the feelings of my wife and I. When I interviewed fathers and mothers who are raising children as references, they talked about hardships like "I can't sleep at night, I'll run out of personal time", but it all sounded enviable to me. “The fact that you are carrying all of that on your back is amazing!” is how I felt.
Tomino: I see....I couldn't have imagined cutting in from that angle. Even though your own children aren’t that old yet, each one of the scenes are neatly arranged by age. While I was watching the film, I couldn’t understand how you could possibly depict the children’s growth so accurately but listening to your story just now, I think I understand half of it. Were you yearning to be a parent to that extent?
Hosoda: Yes, I was aspiring for it. If I didn’t hold ideals toward the idea, I don’t think this movie could’ve been made. If I had actually experienced a sleepless night with a newborn child, I don’t think I would’ve been able to make a film out of it. Because I had a longing for it, that became the power behind the realism. Even though there are some weaknesses to it not being a lived experience, I felt this was the only time I could make this film. Rather than my personal feelings when I first wrote the plot, I am amazed and grateful towards the secretary company and distribution company that took on such a challenging story.
Tomino: It’s exactly as you say. After all, in the anime industry, we, the creators, are contaminated with the preconceived notion of anime. The staff who had the sensitivity to identify such potential in this film only with that title and proposal is certainly amazing.
--Which scene was the most memorable for Director Tomino?
Tomino: It's rare for me, but I smiled at the last cut. Even though it was a cut with a loose composition without any ingenuity, I giggled, mimicking Hana. It’s because I thought, “Parents are just like that, aren’t they.” As the conclusion of a movie, this was really amazing because usually one would want to include something message-like here. If it were me, I’d be too scared to keep her just seated at the table and would make her look towards the mountains and say “Are you doing well?” There aren’t many movies that end so neatly like that. After all, it is a film that raises the story of the movie and the overall representation theory in a fairly dramatic way. However, looking at director Hosoda's career, you've improved your skills for the pursuit of the genre of anime, and you also love anime as an audience member, right? When trying to pursue such a versatile story with a natural theme, Mr. Hosoda's strength of "animation lover" may turn into a weakness and become a double-edged sword.
Hosoda: It's exactly as you pointed out. But I don't think it's possible to stop liking anime anymore.
Tomino: Of course you can't. Therefore, there is no choice but to plan movies in a straightforward, rule abiding way. In my case, I had the same kind of trouble with Gundam, so I know it's harsh. That’s the extent to which Mr. Hosoda hit the nail on the head and got out of the environment where just making work for the sake of doing the job would pass.
Hosoda: However, while there are hundreds of thousands of movies in the history of movies, from many different people from many different cultures, I still think there is something out there that hasn’t been depicted yet. That is my "hope" that I have to keep making for my son who was born.
Tomino: That's the right line of sight. If you have that perspective, I think you can still make many works in the future. Those are probably words that can only be spoken by someone who felt “maybe what I’m creating is not anime?” since The Girl Who Lept Through Time. Because I personally have never come up with the logic that "there may be something that hasn’t become a movie yet."
Hosoda: What? That has to be a lie. Director Tomino was the one to provide that concept. We have been encouraged by that for over 30 years.
Tomino: No, I have the confidence to say that I don't have that kind of creativity or writing abilities.
Hosoda: There’s no way that’s possible. If so, why did we enjoy the thrill of going “I would've never thought up of this!” every time Director Tomino’s new work came out?
Tomino: That's because, in my case, I'm only thinking about the responsibility of "expressing to the public." Regardless of the fact that there were restrictions due to having sponsors involved with big robots, I have come so far only thinking about the narrow exit of, “if other people make it like this, I will do it this way.”
Hosoda: However, as far as I can see, it seems that Mr. Tomino's work pushes itself beyond and is located far above that, while being aware of the public consciousness.
Tomino: Yes, to that, I can be very clear. Because I don't trust the modern public. How can we raise the public to highbrow and make them Newypes? I desire to continue thinking about these feelings towards the future through the theory of communication. Am I overreaching? That's why I'm taught that "a writer must have a perspective like Mr. Hosoda." I couldn't become a fiction writer because I didn't have that sense. Even looking at the relationship between Hana, Yuki and Ame, I realized that "Drama is something that must be assembled like this."
Hosoda: To me this is an unbelievable story. That relationship between Hana, Yuki and Ame could easily be replaced with the path taken by Commander Doba and Haruru and Karara of Space Runaway Ideon. However I couldn’t write the fierce drama of that parent and child as is…
Tomino: If you say Wolf Children feels lacking because it’s simply about child-rearing without the fierce drama, then you are wrong. Things that everyone already knows. Things that everyone actually has hidden deep inside of them, to be able to just say those things straight out and lay it bare in public. Things like the sensual sense of distance in human relationships, you depict so naturally. I personally can't do that, so I forced it through with an easy-to-understand structure and logic. Passionate feelings required for a drama originally requires a sense of distance, and it should be drawn within that. Whether the distance when a hand stretches out and touches another person is true or good, false or true… that sense of distance is a wonderful way to show the goal of the story naturally. Director Hosoda is allowed to have confidence in his ability to direct those kinds of scenes.
Hosoda: I believe that great directing is not in the skills but luck. There was an intangible something that fit the content and tone of the movie. It was good that I was able to stick it out until the moment when I thought "this is good!" for each cut. Those kinds of moments are luck, and the director is the type of person who has to wait for those moments to happen. I think the directors are blessed with their each individual type of luck.
Tomino: I think that as well and also think that, ideally, a play cannot be made unless you are prepared to make it after understanding the whole world.
Hosoda: That being said, while I think the motif I chose this time is good, I also realized that my ability as a director was not caught up with it, but I still had to go through the pain of making it anyway. I don't really understand the whole world, and I don't have enough expressiveness…
Tomino: if that is the case, then I think you’re okay. What’s important is the awareness that “my abilities may not be enough.” There are certain things that can only be built upon that awareness and even if it's making scenes, it’s not something that can be done by one person. Overcoming obstacles with brute force, saying, "There is no choice but to do it like this," sometimes becomes a form of expression that exceeds one’s own ability. The better the movie, the more I think that the camera is set up with the humility that “I can't do it all by myself,” and you can see the power of the group that one doesn’t see in individual work.
Hosoda: For sure, and that’s important in animation as well.
Tomino: Even with desk work like anime, not everything can be controlled by oneself. With such humility in mind, please continue to create soft Hosoda works that everyone can enjoy.
Hosoda: I’m very honored to receive these words. I will continue to use them as encouragement.

Chapter one: But that’s okay
Story Premise: Riley comes to terms with her feelings for her friends, her life at court, and her future in Cordonia. I have no idea how long the story will actually be. Kind of cannon, kind of my own story. I’ve taken the general plot but threw away what I didn’t like. Ha.
Story will be NSFW with sexual material, cussing, and mature themes.
Everything is owned by Pixelberry and I’m just using the characters.
Chapter Premise: set up for the story. Riley and Hana discuss their feelings. Hint of sex.
October the first
“Liam,” Riley said as the music swelled.
She and Liam were dancing, her favorite thing to do when they were together. They were at another ball, really just disguised as an excuse for nobles to gather and rub elbows and show off wealth. Eyes were pried on Liam and Riley, wholly lost in their little world, wondering when or if they would ever get engaged. Madeleine and Liam’s engagement ended six months ago, but Riley wasn’t ready to be a queen at the time.
Riley and Liam were ‘courting,’ as the media presented it, but honestly, Riley wasn’t tied to anyone. Over the social season and engagement tour, Riley found she loved all of her friends in a different way.
Hana was kind, sweet, and thoughtful. Riley had kissed Hana more than once or twice; it wasn’t a mistake or fluke. Riley liked kissing Hana— her kisses were as sweet as honey.
Drake was super masculine, chiseled in a ‘lumberjack’ way, and incredibly sexy. He was strong enough for himself and Riley. His kisses were sexy and smoldering, always leaving Riley breathless.
Maxwell was handsome, caring, and always knew how to get Riley to laugh. His kisses made Riley giddy and giggly.
But Liam . . . He was regal, in every sense of the word. If there were pictures in dictionaries, he would be next to Regal. His kisses turned Riley on. Hell, the way he looked Riley over, turned her on. He was intoxicating.
“Yes, Riley?” Liam asked as he twirled her, her dress elegantly fanning.
Riley’s dress was a white ball gown, with gold swirls, sparkles, and a bodice made of gold lace. It accentuated her curves perfectly and highlighted her sea-blue eyes.
“I’ve been thinking about our conversation from a few weeks ago.”
Liam's eyes lit up. He had given her till December 31st to decide about her marriage. It had been too long for Liam to be unwed by any standards. He had also changed the law after he and Madeleine broke up. His people had been anxious, but Liam calmed their fears shortly after Anton was no longer a threat. He had won his people’s favor using Anton’s plot as a reason to push off marriage. He told Riley that if she hadn’t decided by the New Year, he would take himself out of the running for her hand and start a new Social Season the following March.
“Is that so, Lady Riley?” His face was calm, but his eyes were wild, and his heart erratic. He licked his lips.
She smiled coyly, seeing right through his façade. “Yes, Your Majesty.” Her voice was sultry, drawing him in closer. “I will have my decision made by Christmas, and I will announce it on New Year’s.”
He desperately wanted to kiss her, right then and there, but he knew it would only fuel rumors. The music was going to end— only a few more measures— so he elegantly dipped Riley, his strong arms wrapped around her waist. He grinned as he pulled her up and into a chaste hug. “Anything you want, Riley.” There was no mistaking the seduction in his voice.
Riley’s heart stuttered in response, but she held her hand out to Liam. He took her hand in his, bowed quickly, and placed a light kiss on the back of her hand. His lips sent a shock through her. She would never tire of this feeling.
“Is that so, Your Majesty?” Her voice was teasing, but her eyes showed the malice she felt. Her brain was an emotional pinball machine, and Liam was the pinball. She didn’t like how Liam had acted just two weeks ago.
Liam saw the anger in her eyes and knew it was well-deserved. He was tired of waiting on Riley and had hoped his offer would prod her in the right direction. He was apologetic when he said, “Of course, Riley. I didn’t mean to upset you.”
He bowed again, leaving Riley alone in her thoughts. She made her way over to her table, where Maxwell and Hana were in deep conversation. She slumped, overcome by her emotions.
She desperately needed a break from courtly life. Everyone she ever talked to at court wanted to know if she was engaged yet if she was planning on marriage if she was already married if she was pregnant, and she was tired of it. She wanted to be. She and her friends had fallen into a rhythm, and she felt no rush to get married and potentially ruin the relationships in her life. Liam had offhandedly asked if one day, she would want to carry the heir to the throne if he was never married. Just out of nowhere. During a game of chess. The humiliation she felt from that conversation forced her down further in her chair. She was furious that Liam had even suggested it. Like he had to have some constraints over her, even if she didn’t rule Cordonia next to him. He was so selfish. Tears of anger pricked at Riley’s eyes.
“Lady Riley, have you no shame?” Bertrand hissed, suddenly behind her. He placed a hand on her shoulder blade, sinking his thumb into her skin, making her sit up straight. ”I do not care that you have Liam wrapped around your finger; you still represent House Beaumont, and you will act like a lady,” he growled.
Riley obediently sat straight but narrowed her eyes at Bertrand. “Jesus fuck, Bertrand. I don’t have the mental energy to deal with you and every other noble who wants me to bend over backwards for them,” Riley snarled. “I have my Duchy. Must I represent yours, too?”
Hana’s head whipped around, startled at the venom in her friend's voice. “Riley Alexandra Brooks!” She gasped, not really believing Riley knew or used such language.
Riley had turned to face Bertrand, her eyes glowering, challenging Bertrand to press the issue further, not even acknowledging Hana’s protests. She was sick and tired of Bertrand being down her throat about how she walked, talked, acted, and every other thing she could never do right according to him.
Bertrand, used to Riley’s temper, snagged her by the hand, and rather gracefully, dragged her out of the ballroom. Once out of sight and out of hearing range, he looked down his nose at Riley, eyes narrowed.
“I don’t know what’s gotten into you, Lady Riley of Valtoria, but it would do you a world of good to drop the attitude.” His voice was low, threatening. He stood, arms crossed, disapproval radiating off him.
“I’ll have you know that His Majesty is what’s gotten into me,” Riley retorted, her own anger pulsating through her veins. “Did you know, Bertrand? Did you know he was going to ask me to carry the heir of Cordonia?”
Bertrand took a step back, compassion replacing anger.
“Did you know that not three days after he asked me to give birth to the heir, he decided that I had until New Year’s to decide if I would marry him? That next March, if I’m not his glowing wife, he’s going to have another social season?” Riley was shouting by the end of her rant, arms waving around wildly. Riley was no longer able to suppress the tears that she had fought at the table. She took a step back then a deep breath to calm herself. Neither Riley nor Bertrand said anything for several minutes. Riley looked up at Bertrand, mascara running down her face, lines in her foundation from her tears, and a sense of brokenness in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, Lady Riley. I had no idea,” Bertrand said, softly, apologetically. “That is a lot to absorb.”
Riley pursed her lips, trying to speak without her voice breaking, “I’m sorry for unloading on you. It wasn’t fair, and I won’t do it again.” She blinked some more, the mascara stinging her eyes.
Bertrand offered her his handkerchief, suddenly feeling sorry for Riley. He did consider her a member of House Beaumont, and more importantly, a sister. Riley’s addition in his life brought fame, his brother’s book brought fortune, and Riley’s reputation brought the Beaumonts even more social standing. He loved her in his own way, like making sure her reputation was always impeccable.
Riley wiped away her tears, embarrassed by her outburst. The way Liam had smiled at her when she told him about her plan, both upset her and pulled on her heartstrings. The thought of losing Liam to another woman, again, almost killed her. The idea of marrying him and being Queen terrified her. The thought of hurting any of her friends broke her heart.
“Please don’t tell anyone,” Riley whispered, voice breaking yet again.
“Of course, Lady Riley.”
Riley walked away, still clutching Bertrand’s handkerchief.
September the Fourteenth
Riley placed her bishop right where she wanted it. “Checkmate!” She exclaimed, knowing Liam didn’t have any moves left.
Liam smiled at Riley. She had been a quick study when it came to chess, deftly picking up the game and beating him into submission almost every time they played. He looked into her eyes and saw an almost maniacal joy. She smiled, eyes dancing with victory. This made him laugh loudly.
“It seems you have bested me once again, Riley,” he admitted, knocking his king over.
“Whooooo!” Riley whooped, standing up, scattering the pieces and knocking the chessboard off the table.
She sauntered over to Liam and sat on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply. She sighed contentedly and settled into his arms, inhaling the smell of his cologne.
Liam’s arms wrapped protectively around her. “Riley, I have something I’d like to discuss with you.”
“What is it?”
Liam paused. He drew in a deep breath, praying Riley wouldn’t flip her shit. “I’d like you to carry the heir of Cordonia. I have no intention of being married any time soon, and I’d like to secure the future for Cordonia.”
Riley flew out of his lap, turned and faced him, eyes wild with anger. “How dare you, Liam?” She demanded.
Liam stood up, towering over her, but Riley didn’t flinch or back away. All of his ‘kingly mannerisms' had no effect on Riley. “We need an heir, Riley! I thought you’d be honored. It’s an important task.”
“Honored? Task?! Are you fucking serious? Are you fucking kidding me?”
Riley stormed out of the room, slammed the door on her way out, tears pricking at her eyes. How unfair of Liam. How thoughtless. She couldn’t hold back the tears as she searched for Mara.
Bastien fled after Riley, thinking she was in danger the way she had run. “Your Grace!” He cried. “Are you in danger?”
He was at Riley’s side, one arm protectively reached out toward her. She was facing away but turned to him and he could see her tears. “Oh,” he half-whispered. “I’m sorry, Your Grace. I had convinced myself you were in trouble. I heard yelling—”
“It’s fine, Bastien,” Riley cut him off. “Do you know where Mara is? Tell her I’ll be in the car.” Riley left without letting Bastien even acknowledge or respond. She couldn’t talk anymore, anger rising in her throat and holding her vocal cords hostage.
September the Seventeenth
Riley stared at the ceiling of her bedroom, head reeling from the bombshell Liam had just dropped on her. She had two hundred, sixty-one days to choose a spouse... Liam’s law. Well, technically, Cordonia’s law. But it hadn’t been implemented for over two centuries, not until Riley came along. Liam was forcing Olivia’s hand as well, but Oliva was still technically married to Anton, a widow now. Sure, it seems like a lot of time, but choosing and committing to someone should take at least two years. Liam had to be married by the following New Year’s, as he had pushed off marriage long enough.
Riley glowered at her ceiling, anger radiating from her. Duke Ramsford, who was lying on her chest, licked her nose and offered a small whimper of compassion. She looked from the ceiling to her corgi, half a smile on her face. “Thanks, boy.”
She sighed deeply, dreading the tasks ahead of her. She was going to call Hana, Drake, and Maxwell to her Duchy and have a serious conversation with them one-on-one. She hadn’t even gone on a real date with any of them. First, they had to be discreet while she was clearing her name. Then they had to be discreet as not to hurt Liam’s feelings. But each one of her friends had stopped walking on eggshells around Liam shortly after Riley was named Duchess Valtoria. Riley knew that hearts were going to be broken, including her own.
Riley called on her chambermaid, Charlotte, letting her know that she would take her meals in her room for the day. Charlotte had been another ‘present’ from Liam, so to say. Maybe consolation prize was a better word. Charlotte was a generational servant, and her whole life was dedicated to taking care of nobles and royals. She was kind and genuine; Charlotte cared for Riley in ways to which Riley wasn’t accustomed.
Riley still couldn’t wrap her head around the way people treated nobles and royals. She had been a waitress, for Pete’s sake, and now she didn’t even have to leave her bed to get food. She didn’t have to do laundry. She had tried to clean up after dinner one day, but her servants shooed her away. And her servants didn’t even mind. They lived to take care of Riley. In return, Riley paid them very well, gave them holiday bonuses, always had presents and cards for their birthdays, and they were allowed to use her main house for any event they needed. She treated them as equals, something her servants didn’t know before her.
Riley heard a knock at her bedroom door.
“Come in.”
Charlotte entered, dipping into a curtsey. “Yes, Your Grace?”
“I’m going to have breakfast in my bedroom today. I’m going to take a bath afterwards, and then I’d like to go on a walk. Please let Mara know to be ready by 11 for my walk.”
“Of course,” Charlotte said while nodding. Riley was kind and courteous to her, and she had a deep reviere and affection for her Duchess.
Riley allowed herself to have a pity party for the day, but as soon as she woke up on the eighteenth, the party was over. I have shit to do, she thought to herself as she went to bed on the seventeenth, like get engaged and married and pregnant. Ugh. She really didn’t want to see Liam marry anyone else, but she wasn’t sure if she wanted to marry him. She had a choice to make, and soon.
Riley’s heart was heavy as she drifted to sleep that night.
September the twenty-fifth
Hana was nervous. Riley sounded upset on the phone when Riley had called just earlier that day. “I know you’re busy,” Riley said, “but it’s urgent.” Riley’s tone set off alarms in her mind. Hana had cleared her schedule for the rest of the day and the next, planning on spending both with Riley. Hana’s heart pounded as she pulled up to Riley’s main house. Mara stood on the steps, face carefully arranged to show little emotion.
Mara walked to Hana’s car and opened the door. “Lady Hana,” she said warmly, letting a small smile play on her lips. “It’s nice to see you.” Mara bowed slightly.
“It’s nice to see you, too, Mara.” Hana smiled at Mara while picking up a small bag of hers. They walked in comfortable silence to the house, where Riley was waiting in the doorway.
Riley was elegantly leaning against the doorframe, watching Hana thoughtfully. She smiled brightly when she saw Hana. Riley wrapped Hana in a tight hug, squeezing the air out of her.
“Ooooof, Riley!” She protested, but she hugged Riley back with just as much strength. Riley’s arms loosened slightly.
“Sorry, Hana. I’m just happy to see you.” Riley separated from Hana and looked her up and down, making Hana blush. A flirty smile played on Riley’s lips in response. “Are you hungry?”
Hana searched Riley’s face, wondering why her friend sounded broken just this afternoon. Riley’s face was guarded, not showing anything but a smile that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “No, not really, Riley.” Hana took Riley’s hand and squeezed it. “Let’s go talk about that phone call.”
Riley dragged her feet, literally, as she made her way to her bedroom. This wasn’t going to be easy, and she knew it. Hana trailed behind her, sensing the heaviness of this conversation.
Hana had fallen in love with Riley over the social season, and even more so during Liam’s engagement tour. Hana loved how Riley always knew the right thing to say, how Riley gave her the encouragement to stand up to her parents, and the fact that Riley secured her a place in Liam’s court. She was hopeful when Riley had turned down Liam’s proposal. They had spent a few months exploring their relationship, never going on a “real date,” they didn’t know the explicit terms. They shared kisses and heavy petting, but never traveled farther than that.
Riley sat on her bed, legs crossed, worry etched on her face. Hana mirrored her actions, sitting opposite of Riley.
Riley took a deep breath. “Hana, what I’m about to tell you is going to hurt.”
Hana’s heart pounded, breaking instantly. Riley had chosen someone else and was ending things. Tears threatened to fall. She bit her lip, willing herself to suppress a whimper.
Riley reaches for Hana’s hand, looking at their interlocked fingers instead of Hana’s face. “Hana, Liam and I have had two very frank conversations.”
She is ending things, Hana thought. She couldn’t stop the tears. She stifled a sob.
“Oh, Hana,” Riley whispered. She wiped the tears from Hana’s face, then pulled her into an embrace. Riley maneuvered them so that they were laying down, Hana’s head on Riley’s chest. Riley took Hana’s hand and kissed the back of it. “Liam and I are not engaged.”
Relief flooded Hana, then confusion. Hana was still crying, but croaked out, “What?”
Riley tensed her arms around Hana. “There is an old Cordonian law which states a ruling Duke or Duchess must be married within one years’ time of claiming the title.” Riley could sense the questions Hana had, shushing Hana before she could speak. “Bertrand was the last to marry, and many looked the other way because of his father. It recently came to light that I was the only unmarried Duchess... and Cordonia isn’t happy.” Riley frowned as her hand found Hana’s hair. Her heart was breaking, too.
Hana relished the feeling of Riley’s hand in her hair. The tears had stopped, but the ache in her chest was still present. “What about Oliva?” She whispered.
“Olivia is technically a widow,” Riley answered, matching Hana’s volume.
“Oh.”
Riley paused for a minute, collecting her thoughts, knowing Hana’s was the first of many heartbreaks. Riley didn’t want to say anything that she had to.
After Riley could control her voice, she spoke. “I have until the New Years to be married. Liam has graciously talked the council down from stripping my title.”
Hana shot up, panic rising in her throat. “What does that mean for us?” Tears welled in her eyes again. Hana searched Riley’s face, not knowing what to say. Hana sat on her knees, heart breaking, head reeling. Riley’s eyes were red and puffy, tears streaming down her face.
“I don’t know, Hana,” Riley croaked out, “but we’ll find out together.” Riley pulled Hana down to lie next to her.
“Together,” Hana said.
Hana and Riley laid together, wiping the others tears away, kissing when it felt right, eventually losing the fight to sleep.
Riley woke in the middle of the night, her eyes heavy from the crying she had done earlier. She yawned and stretched, her arm searching for Hana, only to find an empty space next to her. The bed was still warm, so Hana couldn’t have been gone long. Riley rose from the bed, wishing she had put on pajamas before sleeping, her bra digging into her side uncomfortably. Her slacks were also digging into her sides. She stripped and donned a robe, starting her hunt for Hana.
Riley found Hana in her living room. Hana was sitting on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, reading a book. There was a fire going, filling the room with just enough light for a book. Hana heard Riley walking in the room. She smiled brightly up at Riley while placing her book down.
Riley walked over to Hana and wrapped her arms around her from behind. “Hey.”
Hana returned Riley’s affection. “Hi.”
Riley walked around the couch and sat next to Hana. “Couldn’t sleep?”
“Yeah. I woke up to use the restroom, but then I was hungry,” she admitted. “Charlotte heard me in the kitchen, so she made me a sandwich. She offered to start a fire for me, and...” Hana trailed off, waving at herself wrapped in a blanket. “Here I am. Twelve chapters in,” she laughed lightly.
“Anna Karenina, a favorite of mine!” Riley exclaimed, delighted, when she finally noticed the book in Hana‘s lap. “Have you read it before?”
“No, actually. My parents believed fictional books are frivolous, and there are ‘far more educational things to be read’,” she mocked her parents, laughing.
Riley laughed, too. “Do you like it so far?”
Hana smiled. “I do! It’s exceptional!”
“My favorite part of the book is the ice skating scene. I feel like it’s a turning point in the story. Ooh, can you speak Russian?” Riley got carried away, excited to share a favorite book with someone she cared for.
“No, just Mandarin, English, and a few sayings in French and Italian.”
Riley feigned surprise, “What, your father thought that was enough?”
They both fell back with laughter.
“Really, though, something gets lost in the translation. I learned Russian just to read the book. Or, maybe, I learned Russian as I read the book.” Riley smiled at Hana, fondly recalling her high school days.
“I can’t believe you know Russian, Riley!”
“Just enough to read Anna Karenina,” Riley laughed.
“Will you ever stop amazing me, Riley?” Hana asked before she could think to stop herself.
Riley blushed. “I hope not,” she admitted. Riley was taken over by a woman she didn’t recognize when she found herself on top of Hana, kissing her urgently. Hana kissed back with just as much ferocity. Riley’s fingers tangled in Hana’s hair, pulling on it slightly. Hana’s tongue danced on Riley’s lower lip, asking to be let in. Riley’s lips opened slightly, letting out a small moan. Riley grinded her hips on Hana’s, suddenly needing to be with her.
Hana and Riley made their way back to Riley’s bed, kissing fervently the whole time as clothes were scattered in their wake.
Their love making was urgent and pure, both telling the other how they felt.
They fell asleep as dawn began peeking through Riley’s curtains, snuggled up closely.
Nothing had really been resolved, but they were both okay with that.

Stress Buster - King Liam x MC
A/N: I apologise for the length of this post for those who want to scroll past. I wrote this on the fly and I'm posting it from mobile, so I couldn't add the "Keep reading" line. Sorry! 💙
Hello! This is my first time posting a fic in quite a few months. So any feedback is appreciated. It's sort of a continuation (with a major leap in between) of my TRR Chapter Tie-Ins series. You don't have to read the previous parts to make sense of this story. For those who haven't read the previous parts, my MC in this series is Riley Spencer, a law school dropout and twin sister to Dani Spencer, the MC from Lovehacks. So this is actually a The Royal Romance and LoveHacks crossover.
This is for the anon who asked me to write a fanfic about Liam teasing a tired Riley. It's a bit different than what you asked for, but I hope you like it, anon! ☺️
***
It was the end of a long, tiresome week. Liam was holding himself back from grabbing Riley and jumping into bed together. He took deep, calming breaths as he sat on the ottoman and took his shoes off, watching his Queen fire away some rapid texts on her phone. He wondered how it was possible that she grew more and more beautiful with each passing day. There she stood by their bed, holding her phone up at eye level.
"Constantly looking down at the phone causes neck and spine problems, babe", she had told him once.
A small smile curved the corner of his lips, as he took in the sight of her. Those silken locks in ombre, which he had curled around his fingers nearly every night since their wedding. The graceful bearing with which she carried herself, even as she stood still. And that face - the one which had illuminated his life, like the moon did to a clouded night.
"Are you texting Madeleine?", Liam teased.
"Yes"
Normally, that name was enough to make Riley roll her eyes or crack some joke about the Countess. But she kept typing away, filling in Liam about some event she had to attend on Monday and how important it was for the apple export. It didn't sit well with Liam to see his lovely wife in her Queen mode when they had done with their duties for the day and were now alone in their bedroom. He shed his coat and unbuttoned his collar as he walked to her. The fading smell of her shower gel and deodorant, with just a smidgen of that womanly musk, was what greeted him first. Liam placed his chin on Riley's shoulder from behind, letting his arms wrap themselves around her. He closed his eyes as he kissed her cheek, gently rocking her sideways in his snug embrace.
"Honey, not right now. This is important stuff", she said, without looking back at him.
Liam didn't get upset or angry. He smiled in defeat as he recognised what was happening. He let go of her, but couldn't help putting his hands on her shoulders. He said,
"Do you realise what's going on?"
Riley said, still looking at her phone screen,
"What?"
"You're pulling a Riley"
That earned him a tired glare from over her shoulder. Liam grinned.
"I'm sorry but that's what this is. You have been doing so much these last few weeks. And unlike a normal person when overworked, you just jump deeper into the deep end"
She said, pouting a bit at her phone as she typed,
"This is not a "Riley". I'm just... just busy"
"Darling, you remember what happened the last time you got overburdened and wouldn't let anyone help you?", Liam reminded her, "You ended up eating all the cake at Maxwell's birthday, you called Drake a denim whore, then you wept while hugging both our corgis, and kept saying "It's a cool name, Mr. T! Mr. T's a cool name!*"
Riley's shoulders stiffened a bit under his hands. Liam smiled and massaged them.
"Do we want an encore of that?", he asked, trying to keep the smile out of his voice.
His wife was stubborn as she was beautiful. She said,
"There's not going to be an encore cause I'm not overworked. I've got everything under control. Totally"
She shrugged his hand off her shoulder and took her phone to the bathroom. Liam decided to let her have her privacy. But he was worried about her now. She had confided in him about her law school days, and how she had been put on "leave" by the school for reasons concerning her own mental and physical well being. That was when she had started working as a waitress and met him.
'Ah, fateful night', Liam thought.
How fearless and carefree she had seemed to him then. In a way, she was still all that. But her type A personality reared its head every now and then when the going got tough. If she kept throwing herself into work 24x7 like she had been doing lately, Liam was sure there would be repercussions for her health.
'If only there was someone who could...'
Liam smiled to himself. There was. There was someone who could pull Riley out of her workaholic spiral. The only person who could do it in fact.
Liam checked the time, and making sure it was still daytime in San Francisco, he called.
"Liamm, hii!", answered the voice from the other end.
Liam grinned at that enthusiastic tone and the thumping sound of music coming from somewhere behind his sister-in-law. He said,
"Hello, Dani"
***
Riley had back to back appearances scheduled before apple picking season. As a suitor for Liam's hand in marriage, she had hated the Cordonian obsession with apples. But as the Queen of her people, she had come to realise that the apples were a symbol of the Cordonian spirit. The Cordonian Ruby was one of their most valued exports and she knew its importance to the Cordonian morale and economy quite well.
"Riley, this is such a lovely dress. I didn't know you had something from Ana de Luca's summer '19 collection", Hana said.
Riley had to turn her head to look at Hana, who was sitting next to her in the car. At first glance, she saw a large apple in place of Hana's face.
'What?'
Overworked for the last few days, she had to shake her head to clearly see the winsome face of Lady Hana Lee.
"I haven't even seen Ana's summer collection this year, let alone buy something. What are you talking about?", Riley said.
Hana showed her the webpage on her phone, the picture just taken that morning... of Liam and Riley leaving the Parliament.
Her mind was so bungled with apples and all the bullet points on her schedule for the day that she had to take a minute to think. Hana pointed out,
"This was taken a few hours ago. But you've been with me since morning"
Riley asked, clearly confused,
"What?"
Hana looked concerned. She said,
"Riley, you were photographed with Liam outside the Parliament this morning. But that can't be you cause you have been with me all day. So who is this? And what happened to you? Are you okay?"
In a quick snatch, Riley had Hana's phone in her own hands. She speed-read through the article and slowly scrolled past the three pictures. Only her side profile was caught in the pictures, most of it hidden by a gigantic hat. Riley scowled, angered but not scared. She handed the phone back to Hana.
"That's my twin sister", Riley said, "And she and Liam have a lot to answer for when I get to them"
***
Come evening, Riley nearly stormed into the palace, followed by her assistant who frantically tried to keep in pace with her. She had confirmed with Liam's assistant that he was at home after the day's work. Dani she hadn't bothered calling because her head already felt like it would burst. If she had to argue with her reckless, impulsive sister for one...
"That's one big butt to carry on your neck, butthead"
Riley turned around at the call that had come from behind her. Dani stood laughing in the distance, in casual attire that made her stand out even more amidst the palace interior. She met Riley halfway, hugging her tight.
"Oh Riiless, it's been sooo long!"
Dani hugged her tight, shaking her a bit. Riley would have offered an even tighter hug which her family, the Spencers, were known for. But she remembered what had put her in a bad mood for the entirety of her day.
"The photos this morning", she said, without any emotion.
Dani drew back, still grinning,
"Your press secretary didn't tell you? I was on my way to surprise you here at the palace. She... what's her name... like that cookie Mom likes?"
"Madeleine?"
"Yeah, that one. So she saw me and she was like, "Ah the twin sister". I tried to be polite and all but she didn't seem to have time for that. She asked me if I'd be okay to stand in as you for a few pictures for the paparazzi. I thought what the hell, and did it"
Riley folded her arms and asked, raising her eyebrows,
"Oh really? You just conveniently happened to run into Countess Madeleine and she asked you, even though I was just a phone call away, to take pictures with Liam? And for whom, the paparazzi? Dani, I know this is some stupid prank of yours but you've really lost your touch. That is so absurd I can't even..."
"I'm not kidding, seriously", Dani explained, with an earnest expression, "I told her that someone might notice the slight differences in our features. You know, twins being mirror images and all. She said that your face was plain enough to not warrant such close scrutiny. Yikes"
Riley bit her lip. She said,
"Fine. That does sound like something Madeleine would say but it doesn't make any sense why she would want me and Liam to be photographed together by some paparazzo"
Dani explained,
"Right? I asked her the same thing. She said it was because rumours have been going about your marriage losing its spark cause you two are barely seen together in public anymore"
Ouch.
It took Riley a moment to counter that. She tried,
"But... it's not... it's just because we've both been busy with our individual duties. There's nothing wrong with our marriage. We love each other"
"I'm sure you do, Riles. Don't listen to what the haters say. They have nothing better to do", Dani assured her.
Riley couldn't stop thinking about it though. Had it really been so long since she and Liam had been seen together in public? She couldn't recall the last time they had had a private moment together let alone one in front of other people. She had thrown herself into the role of the best Queen she could be and yet...
"You okay?", Dani said, "If I had known it would bother you so much, I wouldn't have done it. That Madeleine said she would let you know and you'd be okay with it"
What hurt her - more than the speculation about her marriage - was the fact that Liam had gone along with this scheme. He had let himself be photographed with Dani as a substitute to his lawfully wedded wife.
Riley had to ask,
"What did Liam say? He must have felt pretty uncomfortable pretending you were me"
"I don't think he noticed it was me and not you. We didn't say anything to each other. We just walked side by side, not even holding hands. And that was it", Dani shrugged.
'No way. Not in a m...'
Riley shook her head, giving a little laugh of disbelief.
"Now that's taking it too far. Liam would have immediately known it was not me. Or Madeleine must have told him it was you. Yeah. That's why he..."
Really? She thought to herself. Did Liam really not care or notice that the woman next to him wasn't his wife?
It hurt. But Riley endured. She put on a smiling face for her sister and saw her to the guest chambers.
***
Riley dropped the impassive act when she walked into her own bedroom that she shared with Liam. He was sitting on the settee, reading a book. Like a child in want of attention, Riley walked over and stood right in front of him. Liam looked up at her from his book then, asking,
"When did you get in, my love?"
Oh the nerve.
She folded her arms across her chest, trying her best not to let her cheeks swell in anger like they always did. And which was enough to make Liam not take her seriously as he kept trying to "puncture" her cheeks instead.
"Did you seriously pose with Dani this morning and not know it wasn't me?", she asked.
Liam closed the book, his perfect eyebrows furrowing just a bit. He asked sweetly,
"Dani? Your sister?"
"You posed for paparazzi bait shots with her this morning. Did you really not know it wasn't me?"
Liam stood up and peered down into her face. He said sincerely,
"Riley, I really didn't think for a moment that it wasn't you. And Dani... when did she arrive? And why was she the one posing with me?"
Riley recapped for him what Dani had told her. He sighed, scratching the side of his brow.
"That's too much, even for Madeleine. I'll talk to her"
"I'm not jealous or something that you posed for a picture with my sister. It's not that", Riley said in small voice.
"What is it then?"
She could feel her stupid cheeks inflate as she spoke.
"It's just that... you couldn't even tell that it wasn't me. I know Dani and I are identical twins but I thought...", she mumbled, "I thought you would always be able to tell"
"Oh"
That's it? Oh? That was what he had to say in his defence?
Liam said, a bit sheepish,
"Well, to be honest with you, we didn't talk during the photos. She was wearing a very... interesting hat that hid nearly half her face from me. I supposed that you were busy and didn't want to talk, that's all. I didn't want to annoy you"
This wasn't something she had expected to hear from her Liam. Riley gripped his arms with her hands, saying,
"You don't think I'd ever be so mean and want to avoid you? Not you, Liam. You're the only reason I'm even here. You know that, right?"
He took her in his arms. But cautiously, she noted.
"I know. I'm sorry", he said, "It's... you have been so busy lately. I know how hard you try to give your best to everything you are called upon to do as the Queen of Cordonia. I just didn't want to annoy you when you have been working yourself to the bone lately"
That sure did it. Riley could feel the tears murking her vision. She had been so occupied with being a good queen lately that she had forgotten who she was doing it all for. The man who was holding her in his arms like she were made of fire and would burn him any instant.
She didn't want to know the answer to it but she asked anyway.
"Liam?"
"Yes, dear?"
"You're not scared of me, are you?"
He stroked her hair away from her forehead, smiling.
"Of course not, my love. I'm in awe of your strength and your courage every day. But you have never given me any reason to fear you"
Throwing herself into his embrace, Riley muffled her face against Liam's shirt. He seemed to panic.
"Hey. You okay? What's wrong?"
Riley mumbled,
"I pulled a Riley"
She could feel the laugh reverberating through Liam's chest. He kissed the top of her head, saying,
"There, there"
"I'm so sorry", she said, sniffing.
"Don't be. I appreciate how much effort you put into being a good ruler. You have no idea how grateful I am for that", Liam held her face so she was looking up at him, "But nothing's worth the anguish and damage to your health. You are the most important person in the world to me. And if anything were to happen to..."
Riley sniffed petulantly, interrupting him,
"Why am I like this?"
Liam kept reassuring her, kissing her tears away.
"There's nothing wrong with you, my love. I just wanted to remind you to take it easy"
She wiped another tear falling down her cheek. The exhaustion of the past few weeks was catching up with her. More than that, she was chiding herself for reverting back to her old workaholic ways. She didn't need all the stress when they were trying for a baby.
Liam looked at her like a sad, guilty puppy, which just added to her confusion. He suddenly pulled her closer.
"Oh my darling, I'm sorry. Don't cry. I'm so sorry", he said.
"Why?", she wondered.
"If I had known it would make you feel so bad, I never would have agreed to Dani's plan"
Hold up.
Riley looked up sharply through tearful eyes that were now blazing with a slow fury. She repeated,
"Dani's plan?"
Liam confessed,
"Yes. I asked her if she knew how I could stop you from overworking yourself to a burnout, and she said that she would fly to Cordonia and help. She didn't tell me much. She just said that I shouldn't speak a word to you or her today if we met in public, and that she would handle the rest. I knew it was not you with me this morning outside the Parliament, but since she had forbidden me from speaking to either of you, I didn't say anything"
Liam was startled when a woman's voice in an American accent called him "Tattle tits!". Both he and Riley turned to see Dani standing in the door to their bedroom, with her hands on her hips.
"For the record", Dani said to her sister, carefully taking a step backwards, "Lady Hana and Madeleine were in on this too. So you can't just punish me for the whole thing"
Riley gave her husband a sweet smile that spelled murder. She said,
"I'm going to deal with you tonight, right after I kill my sister"
She could tell from Liam's eyes that he was up for whatever sexual punishment she had hinted at. He said softly, so only she could hear,
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me"
She shook her head at him in horror, saying,
"Oh my god. You only spent like half a day with her... Jesus Christ. Dani!"
Liam couldn't help but grin as he stood there watching. Dani dashed out of their rooms with a laugh, followed by the Queen of Cordonia and her shoe.
"Oww!", he heard Dani yelp from somewhere outside, "That hurt, you jerk!"
The loud bickering he - and the guards - could hear outside reminded him of similar occasions from his own childhood.
Not wanting to get in Riley's way when she was in an avenging mood, Liam took his phone and dialled a number.
"Leo?", he smiled on hearing the voice, "Hello to your filthy self, brother"
He sat down to catch up with his own sibling while Riley punished her imp of a twin outside.

Hana and Taemin for the ship meme??
— ultimate ship meme! | @busanbunnie
—
Send in two (or more) names and I’ll fill all this out about the ship!
General:
Rate the Ship - Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs (they defined it)
How long will they last? - I think this is a very loving case of ‘til death do us part’, and their love even transcends AUs of all kinds and genres, honESTLY, MAYBE FOREVER
How quickly did/will they fall in love? - I’ll be bold enough to say I think it was like meeting The One? I wouldn’t say Love At First Sight, but something about them meeting struck me like two souls destined to find one another, actually finding one another. So, I think it happened relatively fast, but not too fast
How was their first kiss? - Considering Taemin didn’t use to kiss at all back then, on his side there was a lot of hesitation from there, and I can imagine Hana might have been shy about it, so it was a lot of careful testing the water, and then so chaste that all my teeth fell out and regrew immediately due to its sweetness and emotional power
Wedding:
Who proposed? - I don’t remember what I might have said for this section in other occasions, but I do believe Taemin would have been the one? I can’t promise he managed to keep it a secret from Hana because he probably involved Minhwan to figure out how to best go about it and also because he was panicking lmao, but in the end, they did, and it probably wasn’t very fancy, just a romantic moment in the bliss of domestic intimacy
Who is the best man/men? - Definitely Minhwan, like, yo
Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - Gale might be available for the spot, she might feel inappropriate, but I’d hope they convinced her to it anyway (because she’d feel loved and honoured)
Who did the most planning? - I think both, although Taemin probably let Hana go off and do a lot herself while he stood by and followed instructions to the letter, 1. because he trusts her decisions more than he trusts himself in general, 2. because I feel like Hana would love organising it? so he’d absolutely let her, 3. he’s a disaster and we been knew
Who stressed the most? - Maybe Taemin? I feel like (obviously always correct me, pls, like, I wanna knOW) Hana would stress over technicalities, the wedding itself, invitations, the places, just the organisatory aspect of it, and Taemin would over actually being a good man for Hana to say yes to
How fancy was the ceremony? -Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.
Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - No one! Everyone who needed to be there was there, and then some: Hana’s family, Hana’s teammates, Gale, maybe a few coworker of Minhwan and Taemin’s here and there
Sex:
Who is on top? - *cough* Well, depends on what position they’re fee- okay, just, Taemin
Who is the one to instigate things? - They seem to do both equally, and spontaneously, just a healthy loving couple with a healthy, adoring sex life
How healthy is their sex life? -Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now
How kinky are they? -Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head
How long do they normally last? - I’m seriously confused by this question, like, every time? Am I supposed to provide, like, an average amount of minutes, I’m- somebody who has sex, please let me know lmao, nah, okay, I’d say, an average amount?
Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? - A b s o l u t e l y, because Hana and Taemin are nothing short of a healthy, loving, respecting relationship between two people who love and respect one another very, VERY FKING MUCH, and they’d both want to assure that both parties receive as much as they give
How rough are they in bed? -Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it.
How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? -No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory.
Children:
How many children will they have naturally? - Two! A little baby girl and a little LITTLE BABY BOY
How many children will they adopt? - We’ve never actually considered or spoken about this, but I actually feel like Taemin would consider? When it comes to seeing the opportunity to free a child from a childhood perhaps as dark as his had been, why wouldn’t he take it? How would Hana feel
Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - They’re both quite hard-working people, so I feel like all these sorts of stuff they try to balance it out as much as possible, they work together because they’re a team and as such, everyone gets their turn
Who is the stricter parent? - I’m not quite sure, actually, I feel like they’d both spoilt them in different ways? Mostly with attention I feel, and utmost support <3
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - I feel like Hana would do a better job at it, because Taemin is a tad too apprehensive in this context; where Hana would guide and teach, Taemin might just... worry too much
Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Resident cook, TAEMIN
Who is the more loved parent? - Gotta be honest, might actually be Hana. It’s just a natural thing that, if the relationship is well, there’s just the slightest bit of a tighter bond between a mother and her children, she’s spent so much more time with them and besides, who the heck wouldn’t love Hana
Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? - I feel like it depends entirely on their schedule; they’d probably try to go together, because they’re supportive parents who want to show that they’re there, but again, it’d depend entirely on work and whatnot
Who cried the most at graduation? - I think, Hana? == AND I DON’T BLAME HER, tbh I was probably there too, crying (although, neither are anywhere near the age of graduating yet)
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Well
Cooking:
Who does the most cooking? - Taemin! It’s his *french voice* passiòn
Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Not quite sure? Maybe Hana, because Taemin’s happy eating just about anything, and Hana’s got her Fave Snacks™ I’m assuming and besides, there’s a fat chance Taemin would have tried to spoil the heckers outta her
Who does the grocery shopping? - Whoever’s got the time, I suppose? OR EVEN BETTER, BOTH TOGETHER! Grocery Shopping Date™
How often do they bake desserts? - Not as often as they should >:(
Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Headcanon that they’re both meat lovers? What does the jury say?
Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - OH HANA’S amazing at surprises, so far we’ve had quite a few scenarios where Hana was just “boom, I cooked for you” and Taemin had no idea, but what would be even funnier, is if they tried to surprise the other simultaneously, constantly trying to shoo the other out of the kitchen to get it done, and then in the end they figure it out and just... cook it together and it’s sweet and domestic and I love them
Who is more likely to suggest going out? - They both seem more fond of the stay at home variant? Like, they def go out on dates too, but Hana has quite an exhausting job and as someone who works on the computer, just for the eyes alone, not only her job as a mecha pilot is tiring, so I can see her being tired late and wanting to be cosy and Taemin loves cooking for them and I think they both just love to stay and cuddle
Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? - H...m... maybe Hana <....w.....<
Chores:
Who cleans the room? - Whoever gets up last, which is why we have to have a thread where they try to race each other to try and not be the one who has to make the bed and whatnot
Who is really against chores? - Taemin’s lowkey so lazy in this context, he does them, but, Christ, he’s gonna be so pouty about it, how does Hana put up with him
Who cleans up after the pets? - BOTH!
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Both?
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Depends entirely on who the guests are! It might be Taemin because they’re most likely either Hana’s teammates, family, or other friends so he’s worried about impressing them; or it might be Hana because the same people, but she actually wants to welcome them properly.
Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - HANA! I don’t know why, I’m just picturing her victory shout and her cheering and I love her
Misc:
Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Depends on whether they take ‘em together or not
Who takes the dog out for a walk? - Whoever’s got the time! But I feel, for some reason, Hana is probably better with them: I remember we headcanoned them being quite big dogs, and Hana is used to handling things as difficult as a mecha and is physically more fit than Taemin (she’s so hot, fyi)
How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - ALWAYS, EVERY HOLIDAY, EVERY OCCASION AND I HEADCANON HANA IS THE QUEEN OF DECORATIONS
What are their goals for the relationship? - Long days and pleasant nights, to continue being happy together, be there for one another, and just be the perfect couple that they are
Who is most likely to sleep till noon? - Depends entirely on what had happened the night before, but if Taemin takes to preparing breakfasts, especially for the kiddos, he’d leave Hana the luxury (also because she games so late into the night); plus considering the first almost year after either of the children’s births, she’d have to constantly get up during the night to feed them, BASICALLY SHE DESERVES TO SLEEP IN, and if they sleep in together, even better
Who plays the most pranks? - Please let this be Hana because I wanna see her pranking Taemin, PLS PLS PLS

Their Hero Academia - Interlude 2: Heroes and Villains
The next installment of my on-going, next gen, My Hero Academia fan fic “Their Hero Academia”, raw and unedited.
This interlude is actually in two parts, for easy readability. Several of the work study pairs as well as portions of the dialog were suggested by @msalliepants
Chapters 0-24, plus the first interlude, can be found here
Their Hero Academia – Interlude 2: Heroes and Villains
Part 1: Heroes
Izuku Midoriya thanked the hostess who had shown him to the restaurant’s back room and looked upon some of his best friends in all the world. They didn’t get to all see each other as much as they liked anymore, not since so many of them were so busy with their careers as Pro Heroes, but they liked to get together when they could. At least he got to see Kacchan and Eijiro on a regular basis, since they actually lived next door to each other, with Denki and Kyoka on the other side, in a gated community that catered to Pro Heroes. Tetsutetsu and Itsuka actually lived across the street, as did Monoma and his wife.
Momo had actually bought the restaurant many years ago so that they could get together when they wanted with some modicum of privacy. Considering they counted among their number a very large number of Heroes in the Top Ten, it was a necessary precaution.
“Deku!” And there was the voice that could brighten his world immediately, his wife of twenty years, Ochako. She leapt up from her chair next to Tsuyu and ran over to him, wrapping him in a hug that he gladly returned, followed by a kiss. Behind them, he could hear Denki and Minoru hooting and hollering, but he ignored them.
“Hey you,” he said. “You get the kids dropped off at Mom and Dad’s okay?”
Ochako smiled. “Yeah. Hana’s being moody about the whole thing, but Mako’s just happy to be seeing her Grandpa Might.”
Not surprising. At almost thirteen and with no interesting in turning Pro Hero herself, Hana was a typical teenager. At five, Mako was perfectly happy to be her Grandpa Might’s “sidekick.” So long as she wasn’t setting things on fire with her Fire Breath Quirk, anyway.
They’d come a long way from a classes of teenagers thrown into the deep end of the Hero pool. Now they were adults with careers and families of their own. They all had children, many of them more than one. A lot of potential little Heroes, as Dad liked to say.
“Good,” he said, as he took her hand in his and joined their friends at the long table. There were thirty-three of them all together. Himself and Ochako, Tsuyu and Fumikage, Tenya and Mei, Denki and Kyoka, Momo and Shoto, Kacchan and Eijiro, Mezo and Haruko, Hitoshi and Camie, Hanta and Mina, Mashirao and Toru, Koji and Ibara, Minoru and Pony, Yuga and Haru, and Rikido; they were also joined tonight by Itsuka and Tetsutetsu, Kota and Eri, and Mirio and Melissa. It made it a little hard to have a conversation, but they managed. Most of them had been through hell together and that had forged bonds that nothing would ever break.
For his part, he spent some time talking to Mirio and Melissa, gushing over how well their eldest, Tamaki, was doing as one of his sidekicks. Considering both he and Mirio operated together out of Might Tower (an extraordinary graduation gift from Dad), and Melissa ran their Support division, it was probably unnecessary, but he couldn’t help but share what he felt.
Around him, the others were engaged in conversations of their own, interrupted only briefly by the wait-staff arriving to take their orders. Ochako and Tsu exchanged parenting tips, Mei and Melissa were lost in some technical discussion he couldn’t follow at all, Haru and Haruko were talking as the always did, of the troubles of being a non-Hero spouse. Eijiro and Tetsutetsu were proudly sharing pictures of their youngest to anyone who would listen, while Kacchan looked more and more exasperated by his husband’s antics by the minute. Mina was teasing Tenya about being future in-laws. And he was fairly certain he heard Mina telling Toru that she was pregnant again.
Finally, after the food had been brought and they eaten, Izuku clinked on his glass with his spoon to get everyone’s attention.
“Okay,” he said. “As nice as this has been—really great to see everyone again—we actually do have a real reason for getting together tonight. As you know…”
“Oi, Deku!” Kacchan shouted, giving him an annoyed look. “Nobody says “as you know!” We all get it, the Sports’ Festival’s coming up in a couple weeks!”
Izuku moved on, not letting that stop him. “Well… yeah,” he said. “That. Anyway, we all know it’s coming up. And while I’m hoping all of our kids do well enough to get a lot of offers…”
“YEAH!” Eijiro interrupted. “My Katsumi’s gonna kick so much ass! You’ll all get to see how awesome she is!”
“Shit down, Shitty Hair,” Kacchan said, yanking him back down in his seat.
“Sorry, Izuku, Bakubabe!” Eijiro said. “Got carried away.”
Izuku waved it off. “It’s fine, it’s fine. But like I was saying, we’ve talked about it before, but we want to make sure all the kids have offers. I know some of us can remember how bad it felt not to have any.”
Around the table, several of his friends and former classmates nodded.
“Just remember to keep an eye out for General Studies kids too,” Hitoshi said. “U.A.’s gotten better about getting people into the Hero Course, but there’s still a lot of them slipping through the cracks.”
“Not that being in General Studies is bad,” Haruko said, from her spot next to Mezo. “But we were all proud of you for making it, Hitoshi.”
Hitoshi gave her a polite nod in return. “Lots of hard work,” he said. “You could have made it too, you know.”
She shook her head. “I was never cut out for it. Besides, one Hero in the family is enough for me.”
“Anyway,” Izuku said, “I got an e-mail from Aizwa this morning and it basically said that if any of us even thought about taking our own kids for Work Study week, he would track us down and beat the stuffing out of us.”
Minoru let out a terrified shriek, clinging to Pony at the very thought.
On the other hand, Eri and Hitoshi both let out a laugh. “Sorry,” Eri said. “But that’s just such a Dad thing to say.”
“You really can’t see how frightening he is, can you, babe?” Kota asked.
“He’s really a softie,” she replied. Kota gave her a look that suggested she’d gone mad, but didn’t belabor the point. All things considered, Izuku didn’t blame him. He still considered Aizawa to be one of the scariest people alive and he’d taken on some incredibly frightening Villains in his career.
“He still means it though,” Hitoshi said. “But he’s softened in his age if he’s giving us a warning.”
“Wait,” Denki piped in. “So that means…”
He trailed off and Kyoka buried her head in her hands. “Take your time, Idiot.”
Denki have this some thought for a moment, before shaking his head. “Nope, I got nothing.”
“I assume you’re suggesting there’s nothing preventing us from extending offers to each other’s children, Izuku?” Momo asked.
Izuku nodded. “Right, Momo. So I thought maybe we could work it out ahead of time.”
“I must object!” Tenya said. “Surely, this premeditated behavior is unbecoming of Pro Heroes such as ourselves, not to mention unfair to the sportsmanship of U.A!”
“Oh, relax, Tenya,” Ochako told him, looking mildly annoyed. Izuku could understand it. Tenya actually had relaxed some since they were in school, but could still be a stick in the mud most of the time. “We’re not depriving the kids of any offers. We’re just making sure they all have one if they want it. And we can scout more than one student if we see someone else who really catches our eye.”
Tenya grumbled a reluctant agreement.
“Nejire and Tamaki let me know they want to be involved too, if they can,” Mirio said. He’d known in advance, of course, since Izuku and Ochako had discussed it with him.
“A good plan,” Shoto agreed. “But who gets whose kid?”
“I was getting to that, thanks, Shoto,” Izuku said.
“Well, hurry it up, Deku!” Kacchan snapped. “Some of us haven’t got all night!”
“Funny you should mention that, fam,” Camie said. “Hitoshi and I were talking, and we think it’d be mad lit if you’d take Shota.”
Kacchan’s eyes went a little wide as he fixed the two of them were a glare. “And what makes you think I’d wanna take the little loudmouth?”
Hitoshi was unfazed by Kacchan’s glare. “Shota has a Quirk that is both unique and powerful. But he is prone to distraction and sometimes lacks discipline. You should be able to provide some instruction on the first and temper the latter.”
After a moment of sustained eye contact, Kacchan backed down. He waved a dismissive hand in the air. “All right, but you owe me big for this, Sleepy. Your kid never shuts up.”
Hitoshi simply shrugged in reply.
“He gets his mad gift of gab from me, fam,” Camie said, proudly.
Izuku decided it was best to simply move on. “All right, that’s one down. Before we start digging into everyone, I, ah, I think it’s probably best that we deal with the “difficult” children first.”
“Difficult children?” Mina asked. “We don’t have any difficult children!”
Well, this was going to be awkward. But Izuku pressed on. He coughed, awkwardly clearing his throat. “Mika, Chihiro, Takuma, Katsumi, and the Twins.”
Predictably, the room exploded.
“How dare you accuse my little princess!” Minoru shouted.
“Minny…” Pony said, trying to calm him down.
“What’s wrong with Chihiro?” Denki demanded.
“She’s got your genes,” Kyoka told him, rolling her eyes.
“What the hell, Izuku?!” Mina shouted. “I thought we were friends!”
“Your kid’s always getting Kenta into trouble, Mina,” Rikido said, crossing his arms. Hanta just looked awkwardly between his friend and his wife.
“I am hurt by these unmanly accusations!” Eijiro cried out.
“Deku, you take that back, damn you!” Kacchan roared.
“What did you say about my babies?!” Mei screamed.
“Excuse me,” Tenya shouted, arms flailing through the air. “My children are not difficult!”
The room went quiet for a minute, before everyone turned to state at him.
“They are a handful,” Tenya added, pushing his glasses up. “There is a difference.”
Eyes returned to Izuku and he swallowed nervously. He’d rather have been facing a room full of super-villains. “We all know what I’m talking about,” he said after a moment. “We all love our kids, they’re all great kids. But some of them need a little more guidance or a little firmer a hander than others. That’s it. Maybe difficult wasn’t the best word, but… still…”
Fortunately, things settled after that.
“I’d be happy to take Chihiro,” Momo said. “Kyoka and I have been talking with Eri already. It will be a good opportunity to begin preliminary plans for Support equipment she can use.”
“Thanks, Momoyao,” Kyoka said, clearly relieved. “Just remind her she’s got my genes too, okay? Don’t let her do too many stupid things like my Idiot here.”
“When have I ever done anything stupid?” Denki asked, looking slightly hurt.
“You really don’t want me to answer that question.”
Minoru stretched a hand into the air. “Oh! Oh! Tsu! You should take my little girl! You’ve got an all-female crew, right? No boys to get her in any trouble?”
“Minny, you know Mika doesn’t just like boys,” Pony corrected him.
He pressed on anyway. “Boys her age are nothing but trouble. Should have sent her to an all-girls school.”
Fortunately, Tsuyu didn’t’ focus on that part. She put a finger to the side of her mouth. “I’d love to whip her into shape,” she said, “but she can’t swim, *kero*.” Tsuyu had taken over from Captain Selkie many years ago and primarily patrolled the waters of Japan. She was good at it too, good enough to have become the Number Nine Hero. That she was popular with children and adults didn’t hurt.
“However,” Momo said, “she could use someone responsible and disciplined.”
Several pairs of eyes fell on Tenya. Shock crossed his face at first, but was then replaced by his usual look of determination. “Very well,” he said. “I shall do my best to instill in her the proper values of a future Pro-Hero and UA student.”
“I can take Tensei,” Mezo volunteers. “Your son is… excitable, Tenya, but skilled. I can teach him how to observe and think.”
“And I can take Sora,” Mashirao adds. “Mezo and I both have a pretty back to basics approach that’ll do the Twins some good.”
Mei waved a hand in their direction. “Oh, sure, if you wanna be boring about it!”
Tenya was calmer, giving them both a polite nod. “Thank you both,” he said. “I apologize in advance for any trouble they may cause you.”
“Okay, we’ve got the Terror-Twins sorted out,’ Mina said. “Can we go back to the part where you think Takuma is difficult? Because that’s clearly wrong. He’s just building his brand!”
“He’s a bad influence,” Rikido said again.
“They’re just kids,” Toru said. “And they’re having fun!”
“How can you say that, Rikido? After everything I’ve done for you?”
“He lacks discipline,” Fumikage said, cutting through the arguing. “I can correct that.”
Mina blew air out through her lips and Izuku was certain he was going to have to intervene. “Fiiine,” she wailed. “But I don’t see what need fixing.”
No one was going to touch that point. That Mina was a terrible disciplinarian who let her children run all over her was well known. Hanta wasn’t much better, but he did try to keep things under control.
“Maybe if you didn’t have so many kids, Raccoon Eyes,” Kacchan sneered, “you could keep your eyes on this one.”
“Oh, come off it, Katsuki!”
Hanta placed a restraining hand on her arm. “Honey, it’s not good for you to get stressed… It’s not good for the babies.”
“Babies?” Eijiro asked, grinning. “Are you pregnant again, Mina? That’s fantastic!”
“Aren’t you a little o…” Denki began, but a sharp glare from Mina stopped him from completing that thought. It a rare show of life-preserving sense, he stopped talking.
“Yeah,” Mina said. “Twins this time. Last kids, I promise. I just can’t keep Hanta off me! Of course, it’s pretty hard to resist, with how big his…” Next to her, Hanta turned several shades of red.
Izuku didn’t know how Mina and Hanta did it. His and Ochako’s three were enough of a handful. They had five kids already, and now two more? He grinned, though. “I guess congratulations are in order, then!” Various congratulations went out from the other members of their group, except for Kacchan.
“There’s still time for you to get back in the contest, Tsu!” Mina said.
“What contest?” Tsuyu asked.
“The kids contest!” It was true, after Mina and Hanta, Tsuyu and Fumikage had the most kids.
“That’s not a contest,” Tsuyu said.
“Said the loser.”
That got a few laughs from the group, before they moved on.
“Anyway,” Mina said, “I wanna take Asuka. She could use a chance to loosen up.”
“Ah,” Hanta said. “You’re going off active duty before the Sports Festival, hon.”
“Aw, dammit!” Mina said. “I forgot!”
“I’ll take her!” Toru piped in. Izuku assumed she was waving her arms excitedly, judging by how the straps of her dress were moving, but he couldn’t be certain. “We’ll make it a girls’ week!”
“And teach her something, *kero*,” Tsuyu said.
“Yeah, that too!”
“Perhaps I should take Kimiko?” Yuga asked, one hand on his chest, staring slightly off to the side as he often did, as though looking into some invisible camera. “The unseen could use a few tricks about visibility and standing out.”
“Im going to have to pull rank on this one,” Eri interrupted. “Kimiko’s expressed some interest in continuing her medical education and I’m do for some field work during that week anyway. I think it might be good for her to see what it’s like out there.”
“Who am I to refuse such a lovely lady’s request,” Yuga said, bowing slightly in his seat.
“Let me know if you’ll be at my hospital,” his husband, Haru, said. “I can probably arrange a few things if you can’t.”
“Of course, thanks,” Eri said.
“And thank you, Eri,” Mashirao said. “Kimiko seems really excited about this. I think she’s found her calling.”
Eri smiled. “Just happy I could help.”
“I want to take Katsumi,” Ochako said.
“You do? What’s your angle here, Round Face?” Kacchan asked. “She’s no Rescue Hero.”
“That’s not all I do,” she said. “Besides… I think a little Gunhead-style martial arts instruction will really help her focus.”
“It is a manly art,” Eijiro said, rubbing his chin. “I like it! Thanks, Ochako!”
Kacchan crossed his arms and scowled. “Fine. But no going easy on her!”
Ochako made her meanest face back at him. Which looked more ridiculous than scary. Izuku had to turn away to keep from laughing, which would have gone very badly for him.
“Okay,” Izuku said, “moving on…”
“I’m taking Toshi,” Mirio said. “I already called this when he was born. You’re not taking that from me. I’ll fight you.”
“No you won’t,” Melissa told him.
“No I won’t,” he agreed. “But I am calling Toshi.”
“So instead of his dad, he gets somebody just like him. Great.” Kacchan rolled his eyes again. But he didn’t argue the point. Mirio was good at what he did. Izuku was well aware he’d set the bar as the Number One Hero incredibly high… and Mirio still found occasion to surpass him in the Rankings. Little wonder that Dad had once considered him a possible successor.
“Oh yeah,” Mirio said, grinning. “Tamaki said he’s take Kenta. Figures he could teach him a few things with an eating-based power.”
Rikido nodded thoughtfully. “That’d work. Kenta’s working hard, but I know he’s struggling to find ways to make his Quirk work well. Tell him thanks.”
Mirio tossed off a little salute. “Will do.”
“I’ll take Daisuke,” Tetsutetsu said. He flexed and let out a shout. “It’ll be a manly week!”
Itsuka patted his bicep. “Inside voice, please.”
“Sorry, babe. Got excited.”
That seemed satisfied to Mezo, who gave a simple nod.
“And who wants my darling boy?” Aoyama asked.
Hanta cracked his knuckles noisily. “I can do it. He might benefit from a down-to-Earth point of view.”
Aoyama turned to Hanta, who was wearing cargo-shorts, with sandals and socks. He looked like he was turning a little green. But Haru leaned close and whispered something in his ear and some of the tension seemed to leave him.
“Oh, very well. A little worldly experience will do him good.”
“What about Izumi?” Shoto asked.
Momo frowned. “I’m afraid to admit, I’m a bit concerned… but she also hasn’t had any health or Quirk-related concerns since the one outburst. Her doctors have given her a clean bill of health to continue.”
“I can do it.”
If he’d had a chance to bet everything he had on this, Izuku never would have expected that it would have been Denki who had spoken up.
“You?” Kyoka said, making the word almost an accusation.
“She’s gotta be careful not to overdue her Quirk. I can help with that.”
“He… has a point, Kyoka,” Momo said, after a moment. She turned to Shoto, who nodded. “Please take good care of her, Denki. We nearly lost her once, I don’t know what we’d do if anything happened again.”
Denki gave the both of them a thumbs’ up. “You know it!”
“Can Akaya swim?” Tsuyu asked Koji and Ibara.
She can, Koji signed. Surprisingly well.
“She takes well to the water,” Ibara agreed.
“Then I can take her,” Tsuyu said. “I can teach her about water planets and how to use her Quirk in a different environment.”
“What about you, Izuku?” Mirio asked. “Isn’t that everyone? Going to hold off judgement until the big day?”
It was well known in the Hero community that Izuku always picked at least one, sometimes two students for Work Study after the Sports Festival. He understood that the gambling halls spent considerable time and effort trying to figure out who he might pick, updating their odds until the very last minute. But no one had ever really figured out his pattern. Despite being the Number One or Number Two Hero at any given moment, he never picked anyone who placed in the top three. He rarely even picked someone who placed in the top ten. He’d been doing it for over twenty years and no one had ever figured it out.
Izuku always picked someone who looked like they deserved a chance to prove themselves. Maybe not someone who’d placed high, but someone who was trying their hardest and just needed a little spotlight to make their mark. He knew how it felt to be a kid with no offers, to be trying so hard but not measuring up to some horribly high standard. And he didn’t want anyone to go through that if he could help it. It didn’t hurt that he still had a fantastic eye for analysis. He’d actually written a couple of books on Quirk analysis and application that were still being used as textbooks in a few of the Hero Schools.
“Maybe,” he said. “Toshi’s been talking up one of the kid’s classmates. His parents aren’t Heroes, so I want to get a good look at him in the Festival.”
“Haimawari?” Shoto asked. “Izumi’s mentioned him too. I think she still feels rather guilty for injuring him. But I’d planned on watching too.”
Both snapped their attention to Eri and Kota, who had had more contact with the kid than either of them.
“Nope,” Kota said. “I’m not playing favorites here or saying anything that might influence you. You’re going to have to wait and watch.”
“He’s certainly got a heart for heroics,” Eri said, clearly not feeling bound by the same rules as her husband. “Dad says he reminds him a lot of two of you when you were students.”
“Interesting,” Shoto said.
“Definitely,” Izuku agreed. “So… I guess we just watch and wait and if we like him, we’ll make offers and let him decide?”
“Sounds fair.”
Kacchan slammed a fist on the table. “What’s so special about this kid that’s got everybody excited over him?!”
Izuku held up his hands to pacify his friend. Even though they had put their differences aside ages ago, he’d be lying if he said Kacchan’s outbursts didn’t make some small part of him still flinch inside. “Just hearing good things, Kacchan. We’ll see where it goes.”
A smug grin crossed Kacchan’s face. “Yeah, well, maybe I’ll watch for this kid too. Snipe him right out from under you and IcyHot.”
“That’d be great! You’ve got a lot to offer, Kacchan!”
“Dammit, Deku, you can’t even compete right…!”
Izuku just smiled, which only made Kacchan glower more. Some things never changed. “I think that’s everyone? Tetsutetsu, Itsuka? Did you want somebody to take Kana, or…?”
“I can do it!” Ejiro volunteered.
“Yeah, that’d rock, bro!” Tetsutetsu cheered.
“Bro.”
“Bro.”
“Bro!”
“Bro!”
“Boys!” Itsuka shouted. “That’s really nice, Eijiro, but probably not a good idea. You and Tetsu are too alike for her to learn anything new. Besides, she might start sliding back to when she and Katsumi wouldn’t tell you two apart.”
“We’re alike?” Eijiro asked. He looked at Tetsutetsu, who simply shrugged.
“But we’re fine, Izuku,” Itsuka said. “Neito’s mentioned taking an interest in her, but we know she’ll do well enough to find somebody.”
“Or me!” Pony said. “I’d love to take Kana!”
“Let her get some offers, Pony,” Itsuka said. “But we’ll see.”
“I can respect that,” Izuku said.
From there, the conversation drifted back to simpler topics. Day to day concerns, children, choices of whether or not to take a side job or endorse some piece of merchandise. For a little while, they world went away and they were just a group of friends getting together. Izuku smiled. This happened far too rarely and he intended to savor every moment.

DISPATCH, (04/08/17): Mirage Entertainment has officially released information about actor two, Nam Euntae, on Euntae’s official website! He is a ‘91 liner and has been beloved by fans since his acting debut in 2013. Find out more about Euntae below!
I, Nam Euntae, have read and understand the terms and conditions as my position of Actor 2 and agree to honor the standards that are to be expected of me as an employee of Mirage Media.
OOC INFORMATION Preferred name: Trice Pronouns: She/her Timezone: PST Other muses: Park Aejeong
IC INFORMATION Faceclaim: Lee Jongsuk Name: Nam Euntae Stage name (if applicable): N/A Idol concept: When he was formerly in a boy group and an idol, he had the “mischievous maknae” concept. His former company marketed him as a “sweetheart on the outside, but an untameable, passionate lover on the inside.” It was a little bit true; while euntae is a total flirt and a generally nice person, he’s more of a playboy. Mirage is currently marketing him as “sexy and seductive” as a foil to his former idol concept, and it’s working brilliantly: netizens are loving the idea of a childish-on-the-outside maknae “showing his true colors” as he “matures into a steamy-gazed young man.” euntae finds this a little ridiculous, but since he feels a deep sense of obligation to his company, he doesn’t question it. Birth date and age: April 23, 1991 (age 26) Company name: Mirage Group Name (if applicable): N/A Group Position (if applicable): Actor 2 Strengths: euntae’s acting talent is unmistakable. He does best in roles as villains, particularly cold or insane ones. He’s navigated almost all the aspects of the K-Entertainment business; he started off as an idol in 2007, began acting part-time in 2013, and after his former group disbanded in 2014, he began acting full-time. Due to this, his face is very well-known throughout the entertainment business. He’s also good at sticking to concept, and he knows how to work his visuals. He’s rather good at variety as well, although he’s better at performing than hosting, and he has been doing more hosting ever since switching to an acting career. Weaknesses: euntae is a total cynic, and seems to think that every company except Mirage will screw their contractees over. This is partly because his old idol group disbanded due to the company forcing them to (even though most of the members began to pursue their solo careers more). Because he misses his days as an idol, it is occasionally clear that he’s jealous or particularly cold toward younger groups as he believes they’ll eventually end up disbanding against their will as well. This attitude makes a few particularly aggressive dispatchers consider him a spoiled child who never grew out of his rascal maknae phase, which reminds him of his time in an idol group and starts the cycle back up all over again. Positive traits: Polite, enticing, passionate, loyal Negative traits: Vitriolic, unforgiving, arrogant, elitist
PERSONAL HISTORY nam euntae is born the youngest in his family in the spring of 1989. his parents are a strangely mismatched couple; while his father parades around his newborn child (“look at my son; he’s an angel, perfect!”), his mother is amusingly unimpressed in all the photos after her labor. (in all fairness, she’s like that in all of the pictures with euntae’s siblings— most of the pictures in the family photo album are the rest of the nams making silly faces around her while she stares into the camera, queenly despite her deadpan expressions.)
his three older siblings are just as dizzyingly carefree as his father. they’re triplets, two girls and a boy. the eldest (by eighteen minutes only) is hana, then mija at thirty minutes, then chul. then euntae, youngest by three years. he doesn’t really feel left out when it comes to the triplets— they’re pretty good at including him. hana especially: she’s the ringleader. mija, chul, and euntae practically worship the ground she walks on, and with fair enough reason; she’s the most clever of the four nam siblings, and usually the one orchestrating tricks to play on their father or on their classmates. and even though the other three bear a striking resemblance to hana, she’s still the prettiest in their family besides their mother. with all this, she can practically get them to do anything she wants.
euntae is usually her go-to. she adores him and he adores her right back, though her reason for getting him to shoulder the grunt work for setting up pranks is based on the fact that he’s more obliging than the other two in the triptych. so she convinces him instead of them, and that’s how euntae gets the time he craves from his three older siblings.
still though, it’s hard not to feel a little bit lonely when they hit high school and the triplets’ class goes on field trips and he’s left alone. or when the older kids are clearly civil with him at their lunch table only because he’s hana-mija-chul’s little brother. it’s still fair enough, he thinks, when his brother and sisters graduate in the top ten of their class and he fades back into the background; even when his sisters go to law and med school and his brother studies aerospace engineering in america, they still call him, but he still misses them a lot. even his sprightly father and reserved mother notice, so they enroll him in vocal lessons to try to get him to interact with kids his own age instead of alumni who graduated in the years before him.
it works out much better than they hope; he’s caught on quickly, and signs on with a prestigious entertainment company at fifteen, and he’s finally made it: he’s going in as the main vocalist and maknae of a group with wicked sharp choreography and strong vocals to boot. he’s pretty pleased with the outcome of his time with the group, living on top and managing to stay at least somewhat relevant. his parents and sisters attend concerts where they can, and his brother is at the front row when they tour america.
he signs a non-exclusive contract with mirage entertainment in 2013 after the ceo “falls in love with his tortured soul” or whatever the hell it was; surprisingly, his first acting job isn’t under that company. it’s under kaleidoscope, where mirage loans him out for the drama my love from another star as lead villain lee jae-kyung. and he’s praised for it, even getting offers from bkb to play a role in their drama (he turns it down, of course; not only is he a full-time idol and a part-time actor, but there’s no way in hell he’d want to do anything for bkb).
his fellow members start branching out as well, much to his chagrin, and while they still promote together, his hyungs go into solo debuts, variety hosting, and modeling. euntae becomes greedy, savoring the time he can spend with his group as a group and not as members beginning to pursue their own solo activities. it was the period at the end of a sentence already written once 2014 rolls around.
because no matter how much euntae gives his life to his group, they disband. fans, of course, still try to keep up with a good number of the ex-members. there are rumors that euntae’s packed up and moved to australia. there are rumors that he’s gone into hermitage and now resides at the local cave. there are rumors that he’s gotten involved with the mafia.
in actuality, he’d stumbled into his parents’ living room after moving day, towing seven years’ worth of luggage and seven members’ worth of tears before he collapsed and slept like he’d never slept a day in his life.
the triplets have been keeping up, it seems, because they return home on the pretense of sightseeing. hana pulls the curtains back and lets the sunlight stream in. mija arranges flowers while humming the tune to her favorite song euntae’s promoted. chul takes it upon himself to place euntae’s clothing, neatly folded, back into their drawers. it’s nice to have hana-mija-chul paying attention to him again, but he’s absolutely bitter at the circumstances under which it happened. how is it that someone can try their hardest at something for seven years straight, only for it all to dissolve just like that?
he stews in his own anger for at least a month, 2014 becoming his most hellish year and unsurprisingly the year he releases no new content before the triplets haul him out of bed and back into the world.
and somehow, it works.
he leaves his old company and changes his contract with mirage from non-exclusive to exclusive; he belongs to mirage now, with the exceptions where they loan his skills out to other companies.
he’s far better at it than anyone might expect. of course, perhaps it’s growing up with three mischievous siblings who, together, are fiendish enough for plenty inspiration, but he’s praised for his role in a villain’s shoes, and suddenly jobs are flooding in. he had been asleep, he thinks: when he signed on with mirage the first time, he had opened one lethargic eye. when he signed on the second time, he was awake, alert to the harshness of the world around him. netizens are stunned once his face starts appearing all over again in the magazines as roles and modeling jobs begin to take their hold on him (nam euntae is back and better than ever, some sources claim). He plays a few roles as villains in various dramas, his most notable ones in my love from another star and oh my ghostess. he’s about as on-demand as they come when it comes to villains. the media eats him right up, loving the idea of former maknae taking high society by storm with a flash of his devilish grin. “sexy, seductive nam euntae!” is splashed in big, bold letters across magazines with him on the cover, and he’s a little amused to see it.
(not to mention he’s a little smug as well to see that he’s still considered the most famous of his former group, and made the successful transition from idol to hallyu star. it’s refreshing to sleep to.)
admittedly, he’s a little thrown with his change from idol to full-fledged actor. it’s strange to go from the performing end to playing guest host on variety shows or introducing new groups on stage that are bound to end in the same place he did. but he tries his best out of a rooted gratefulness, loyalty, and respect to mirage; they did, after all, shelter him where his group failed to, and he will do his best to repay them. a pang of sadness hits him when he sees bright-eyed idol groups rise to the top; he knows they’ll fall farther, hit harder, and he can’t stand the idea of anyone ending up like him. but that’s none of his business; his business is to act, to play hellion on screen for as long as his company needs him. and if doing that helps junior idols maybe realize that not everything is golden, then nam euntae will only consider that the icing on the cake.

he stews in his own anger for at least a month, 2014 becoming his most hellish year and unsurprisingly the year he releases no new content before the triplets haul him out of bed and back into the world.
and somehow, it works.
he leaves his old company and changes his contract with mirage from non-exclusive to exclusive; he belongs to mirage now, with the exceptions where they loan his skills out to other companies.
he’s far better at it than anyone might expect. of course, perhaps it’s growing up with three mischievous siblings who, together, are fiendish enough for plenty inspiration, but he’s praised for his role in a villain’s shoes, and suddenly jobs are flooding in. he had been asleep, he thinks: when he signed on with mirage the first time, he had opened one lethargic eye. when he signed on the second time, he was awake, alert to the harshness of the world around him. netizens are stunned once his face starts appearing all over again in the magazines as roles and modeling jobs begin to take their hold on him (nam euntae is back and better than ever, some sources claim).
