HEY! as the second round of the mcytblr sexyman bracket settles in i wanted to take the time to thank everyone that turned out for #saintsweep in the first round. genuinely don’t know how any of this happened, but i was rly touched by the outpouring of support and positivity and enthusiasm from everyone who was willing to commit to the bit. (33%!!! 33!!!! A WHOLE THIRD!!!! 2206 PEOPLE!!!) 

i wanna thank specifically zloy and the bracket team for being good sports about the whole thing -- the nomination started as a joke, but it was from a place of genuine excitement and goodwill, and i’m glad we all got to have fun with it. sorry for not actually fitting the “yt” part of the mcyt sexyman tournament LOL. 

but, speaking of. i’d joked about making a minecraft video if i won when i first saw the nominations, but after everything that happened here in round one i’m probably gonna do it even tho i lost. i feel like i owe it to everyone who turned out and got really invested and also really confused about who this gay little tv was and why they couldn’t find him anywhere (SORRY ABOUT THAT). 

SO!!! one of the things i wanted to do with the potential video was possibly a bit of a q&a; about me/saint, darkwoods smp, the bracket, lore, builds, whatever, idk!! but i figured, y’know, if anyone has questions they wanna ask feel free to send em my way, either in replies to this post or just straight in my askbox, anon or otherwise. 

anyways!! thank you all again for everything -- i appreciate being allowed to take this whole thing and run with it as much as i have. it was surreal and hilarious and overwhelming and i am going to be riding the high for weeks. the bragging rights i got from this are insane. im putting official mcytblr sexyman nominee on my resume. godbless.

SJM gives it a lot of attention. It describes her not smiling back at him and then looking over at him for the whole lesson. I’m so curious what her inner monologue was there, and same for Azriel. I need someone to break it down!! It’s chapter 39.

i find it very interesting. for starters, cassian says gwyn was distracted today and that he assumes it's because of azriel. wouldn't this be the first time gwyn has seen him since her assault? cassian then, of course, worries that it could be potentially upsetting for her but i just think she's genuinely curious about him, and eventually, he her

cassian then notes that he couldn't read gwyn's expression, is it possible some unpleasant memories came to the surface when she saw him? i wouldn't doubt it, but i don't think that's the reason there's so much staring going on between them. i think they're both intrigued by the other, like it's almost an instinct that they pay attention to one another. it's like sjm is setting up a huge, flashing neon sign for us telling us to look here

i maintain that sjm didn't have to bring attention to these interactions, she made an active decision to write them and make her other characters take notice of it. there's a reason they're drawn to each other and that gwyn trusts him enough to ask for private dagger lessons

i also like the theory that gwyn knows they're mates and this could be another reason for her staring. she's trying go gauge whether or not he knows but we all know az is oblivious to that... honestly now that you've brought it up i am really curious about it too!! i hope the gwynriel novel has some flashbacks to acosf so we can get some insight into their perspectives during it!

The flight had been fourteen hours long and Naomi was sure she felt every minute of it. No matter how many flights she had taken, how exhausted she was, she never could sleep on the flight. The way the taxi driver weaved made sure Naomi wasn't sleeping then either. It almost made the sight of Woodrow a sigh of relief, welcome familiarity, if it hadn't come with the sting of grief. The doors were heavier than she remembered as Naomi made her way through them and into the entry hall. It was grand in a way that felt too intimidating, too opulent to consider it home. She let go of the handle of her blue, rolling suitcase and walked towards some of the historical parts of the hall, the suits of armor. The two created a reflection of her silhouette, ill defined and blob-like, which somehow felt right. Tom and Jerry, she thought, smiling at the memory of Richard another fond memory that couldn't be held onto, couldn't turn into that sinking feeling.

Naomi hadn't considered having to socialize before being able to brace herself in her room, but there was another person in her peripheral vision. "Oh, hey," her voice was brittle, but unable to entirely hide the surprise. "How have you been?"

Has anyone in this Olympics women's boxing argument ever stopped and thought about whether it would make any sense for women to be more susceptible to being injured in boxing than men? Like sure, it's a fairly common assumption that men are physically stronger than women, and therefore a man would have an advantage at boxing because he can punch harder... But how would that make you more resilient to being punched in the nose? Like I would think the assumed advantage would be that women can't hit as hard and therefore would require more effort to take someone down, but what everyone is arguing over is a woman having her nose broken from a punch to the face, when a man's nose would be just as broken from the same punch. Women don't have like, daintier and weaker facial bones or something. Being punched in the face "by a man" when you're a woman is literally no different than being punched in the face by the same person as a man. If we are to assume that men (note: the person being debated about here isn't a man or even a trans woman, she is cisgender, but I digress) are so Herculean that their punches are just too dangerous for women, then men's boxing should be banned outright because it's just too dangerous for men to be punching each other with that strength when a punch to the face is exactly the same for a man as it is to a woman.

Moths. just. moths as a metaphor. (you couldnt tell based off the fact i have done this one TWO separate occasions with zero relation to one another.)

Things about the sky being wrong. especially in cases where its representing a character's relationships. (yeah thats anothero ne....)

A TROPE. Unconventional soulmates. like soulmate aus but where theyre either not romantic or otherwise subverted

Are wingfics considered a trope. Because yeah. (also broken/missing wings/dead birds as metaphors. these go hand in hand)

Fire. Metaphor for literally so many things.
