for now au (inspired by/an au of @softest-punk's fic For Now)

It's viscerally painful, clenching in his chest, to see Dream look at him with no recognition – but Dream retains awareness of the events. Dream knows every action he's taken since vanishing from their flat. It must be agonising and violating. Dream recognises him, is aware of Hob's presence, even if his body is not under his control. He strolls into the room where Dream is rising, where Dream is holding a sharp–bladed dagger.

cold weather ow / ableist doctors (human au)

Dream curls into Hob under the blanket, using him as a furnace, cold feet poking the top of his thighs. He sighs, laying his head on Hob's chest. Hob hates seeing him in pain. Hob hates seeing him so flagrantly dismissed by doctors. An idea is percolating in his head as he takes Dream's cold hands in his own under the blanket, kneading the stiffness and swelling and trying to rub heat back in.

cemeteries of amalo au

"Subpraeceptor," he rasps. "We… you. The poisoner. Mer Brelnar. His cellar has… Hidden entrance. It is a workshop…" The prelate's eyes flutter, black bleeding away back into stormy blue, and then goes slack in unconsciousness once more in Matthew's arms.
