❝Because the greatest war Seungcheol had ever waged was against your heart.❞
historical! au | enemies to lovers! au | smut, fluff | 41k words
s u m m a r y : there was only one thing you hated more than your restricted life, and that was choi seungcheol—the greatest venetian general who has ever lived. when a marriage is arranged between the two of you, you were sure it would end in bloodshed. however, as you and seungcheol are forced to attend balls and share a few hard truths, you realise you have more in common with the mysterious general than you thought.
c o n t e n t : military commander! seungcheol, noblewoman! artist! mc, artist! minghao, artist! soonyoung who are both annoying (affectionate), cheol and mc absolutely hate each other because i need to see proper e2l, cheol has a scar on his lip (yes this needs a separate warning), this is set in renaissance venice so there will be many artist references, the doge = basically ruler of venice, themes of sexism, constant arguing between mc and cheol, there is fluff, also angst mature warnings -> tons of sexual tension, making out fuelled by hatred, cheol calls you carrissima (which personally i find very hot) fingering, oral sex (f. receiving), unprotected sex (only because medieval contraception is horrendous), petnames cheol says some vile things during the deed, slight corruption kink
p l a y l i s t : dangerous woman by ariana grande || war of the hearts by sade || love is stronger than pride by sade || i don’t understand but i luv u by seventeen
t a g l i s t : at the bottom of the fic!
a u t h o r ’ s n o t e : hi hello thank you everyone for waiting for this monster fic!! thank you alice and addy for being the reason i finished this fic, thank you chia for creating a beautiful picture of general! cheol, and greatest thanks to choi seungcheol the man you are </3 i hope you all enjoy this fic as much as i enjoyed writing it <33
WHEN THE VENETIAN REPUBLIC DEFEATED THE OTTOMANS ONCE AND FOR ALL, EVERY CITIZEN—BE IT PEASANT OR THE RICHEST ARISTOCRAT—KNEW WHO WAS BEHIND THAT VICTORY.
His name sparked life into the deathly, cramped streets. Whispers and cheers carried along the murky lakes, the rushed streams underneath the city, lapping up to the cobblestoned shore—entering the ears of marketeers, patricians, nuns, prostitutes, everyone. Wherever one went, the commander’s name rang like the dozen church bells, scattered throughout the lake-locked lands.
The buzz in the air was more frantic this afternoon, though, because the victors’ party was finally returning to the state.
Finally returning home.
You, despite your family’s excitement, despite your connections to the man behind the success of it all, could not have cared less.

“This is fucking stupid.”
“Restart it.”
Wonwoo laughs even as his lips brush over your throat and your moans carry through the room to tempt Seungcheol’s ears. He knew his friend was frustrated, but that was the point of the game. Could Seungcheol make it through a single round of the game without cursing?
Glancing over his shoulder, Seungcheol groans to the sight of your back arched off the bed. You were beautiful and he wanted nothing more than to throw the controller in his hand onto the desk and bury his cock into you. Instead, he was clenching the plastic and metal in his hand so hard it was popping under the pressure.
“Ah…fuck you feel so good.” Wonwoo groans the words as he rolls his hips towards yours. You were clenching around him deliciously. He knew you were close, but he wouldn’t let you cum too quickly. “Cheol…if you break my things I won’t let you play with Y/N.”
Muttering under his breath, Seungcheol loosens his grip on the controller only to feel it vibrate in his hands and to see his character die in the game.
“Oh, what the fuck! This isn’t fair.”
Wonwoo raises a brow, sliding his arm under your back to lift you toward him as he glances at the man sitting at his desk. He knew that Seungcheol knew the rules so he just watched as the man pressed restart with a pout on his face. Wonwoo couldn’t help but grin situating you into his lap, your knees on either side of his strong but slender thighs.
“Come on baby, give him a pep talk. At this point, the poor man is going to be running around the same area while I make you cum to the point of exhaustion and then he won’t get to fuck you because you won’t be able to stay awake.”
Heat spreads across your cheeks at Wonwoo’s words, but you knew he wasn’t joking. Not with that dark look in his eyes and with the way his hips were pistoning into you like a man on a mission. You knew you were leaking obscenely over his cock and his thighs, but it only served to make him work harder.
“Cheollie…oh god! I need you to win the game. I want your cock too. Don’t you want my pussy around your cock? Haven’t you missed me? Just be a good boy and don’t curse.”
The sound of an exasperated breath escapes Seungcheol’s lips at your words. The man shakes his head in disbelief at how filthy your little mouth could be and he finds himself wanting to stuff it full of his cock or fingers instantly.
“You have no idea how fu—freaking distracting you are right now Y/N. This game is already a…it’s hard, but I also have to listen to your slutty little mouth running and moaning behind me and there isn’t a thing I can do about it.”
Wonwoo smirks when you smile at Seungcheol’s words and how he manages to skip around the words that would get him sent back to the beginning of the level once again. A sharp slap to your ass draws your attention back to your boyfriend who lifts his brows at you, his bottom lip caught in his teeth between groaning breaths.
“I’m sorry, Seungcheol. I just can’t be quiet. Not when Wonwoo’s so deep inside of me and when I know that you are so hard. I can’t help but want you both inside of me. Try harder for me? I need you to fuck me. I might cry if you don’t.”
Laughing, Seungcheol lifts his hand from the controller briefly to brush his hair back as he bites back the urge to curse. He was now further in the game than he had been all night so maybe your little pep talk was actually working. Either way, he wanted to give you exactly what you wanted while also teaching you just who he was.
“Don’t you worry your pretty little head, baby. I’ll make sure you cry, how does that sound? Now let me finish this game so I can show your boyfriend a thing or two, huh?”
When you giggle, amused with Seungcheol’s answer, Wonwoo’s hand meets your ass once again causing you to moan his name as you clench around him tightly.
“So much talk and not enough playing. Mm, she’s gonna cum, Cheol. You’re gonna miss the first one. What a damn shame, all because you can’t restrain your mouth.”
With his thumb pressed against your clit, Wonwoo keeps his eyes on your face as he watches you fall apart on his cock for the first time that night. Seungcheol’s groan fills the room, but instead of the sound of a pleasured groan, it is an annoyed one as he listens to your whining moans. Slowing his thrusts, Wonwoo lets his fingers trail along your thighs. A smirk on his face, eyes locked on yours, your boyfriend lets you roll your hips over him to ride out your high.
“Such a good fucking girl.”
Lifting a hand to his face, Wonwoo pushes sweat from his brow before looking over at Seungcheol. The man’s shoulders tense, his eyes locked on the screen as he tries desperately to keep his attention on the task at hand. Even from where he was Wonwoo could see how far Seungcheol was in the game. He had played it so many times he knew the map by heart and with you still clenching around him, he knew you were desperate for another orgasm.
“Watch that building Cheol. You’ll get hit and sent back.”
Surprised by his friend’s merciful tip, Seungcheol almost misses the gunmen hiding in the building but is able to dodge the shot letting out a sigh under his breath. You watch under lowered lids as the man bites at his plush lips trying to keep any forbidden words from slipping between them.
“Oh god…that’s so good. Wonwoo, he’s getting so far. I need more, go harder?”
Leaning his head forward, Seungcheol laughs in disbelief at what he is hearing and missing. Forcing himself to keep his eyes forward, just a growl of frustration slipping from his bitten lips. When Seungcheol finally drops the controller onto the desk with a loud thud, the screen proudly displays the level complete.
Wonwoo can only laugh, his hand resting next to your head as he thrusts into you hard and deep like you had asked. His eyes meet Seungcheol’s as the man swivels the chair around to take in the scene in front of him.
“I did it. I finished it.”
Nodding, Wonwoo smirks at his friend, lifting his hand to brush your hair from your eyes as he leans you back on the bed so you can look at Seungcheol.
“And now you want your prize, Cheollie?”
Scoffing, Seungcheol nods before moving to stand from his chair. You can’t help the way your eyes fall on the obvious bulge in the front of his sweatpants that causes your mouth to water and for you to clench around Wonwoo.
“I think I deserve it. You have no fucking idea how hard that was. All that moaning and whining behind my back. You like having cock inside you that much, little whore?”
Watching the man, you arch your back letting out a moan when Wonwoo’s teeth graze over your soft skin near your nipple. Your boyfriend’s low chuckle draws your attention back to him only for him to tilt your head back towards Seungcheol so you can watch the man undress.
“Don’t be rude, Princess. He earned this, didn’t he? You’ve whined about wanting him back in our bed.”
Seungcheol smirks at Wonwoo’s words, his hands making quick work of his shirt letting your eyes drink in the sight before you. Whining Seungcheol’s name, you cling to the sheet under you causing the fabric to strain under your fingertips. You knew the man was teasing you just as much as you knew your boyfriend was enjoying the way your pussy was clenching around his cock.
“What is it, Y/N? Am I not moving fast enough for you? I had to sit at that desk for almost an hour listening to Wonwoo’s fingers fucking you and then his dick. Do you realize how wet you get and how loud it is? Do you even know how to muffle your moans?”
Shaking your head no, you feel your cheeks heat up. Wonwoo smiles against your breasts before leaning to sit up, his hands sliding along your thighs. The man’s eyes fall between your legs to where his cock slowly enters you again and again.
“Would you want her to be quiet? If she had been, your dumbass would still be dodging headshots.”
Seungcheol rolls his eyes, his thumbs pushing at his sweatpants. Grumbling under his breath, he steps forward letting his pants fall to the floor when his eyes meet yours, and his ego soars. Seungcheol can’t help but to smirk at how your mouth is watering over the sight of his cock. Tilting his head, he lifts his brow before stepping closer to the bed moving to rest his knee on the mattress, keeping just out of reach of you.
“What’s that look for, baby? You like what you see that much? You already have a cock inside you and you are looking at me like I’m something to eat. You want something in that cute little mouth?”
Reaching out, Seungcheol’s lips fall open at your soft gasp as his thumb brushes against your lips. The feeling of your warm tongue presses to the pad of his finger and the man’s mind spins with how much he wants you.
“Wonwoo…help me slide her back or I’ll pull her off your dick.”
Rolling his eyes, Wonwoo bites back his annoyance with Seungcheol choosing to give in to his request instead. You smile at your boyfriend as his hands lift at your hips and Seungcheol’s wrap under your arms so that the men can move you towards the end of the bed.
“You could have just asked me to move.”
Seungcheol laughs, his fingers brushing over your head before you feel his fingers tighten against your scalp causing you to whine into a moan. Wonwoo narrows his eyes until he watches your mouth fall open in pleasure, the other man leaning down to speak against your lips.
“What’s the fun in that? When you have two men here who’d happily move you all over this house to fuck you? Do me a favor and open that mouth. Stick out your tongue.”
Watching you follow Seungcheol’s requests, Wonwoo digs his fingers into your thighs quickening his thrusts, beginning to feel that sense of possessiveness rush over him like it had in the past when he had shared you. It wasn’t that he couldn’t do this, it wasn’t that he didn’t want to, or that he didn’t enjoy it. The point was that it brought out a different side of Wonwoo, it made him want to claim you even more.
“You remember the rules, Cheol?”
Waving his hand at Wonwoo, Seungcheol dismisses his friend in place of watching your tongue slip from your mouth. A smirk spreads across his face, Seungcheol groans, his hand wrapping around his shaft so that he can guide his cock to your waiting mouth.
“Fuck, good girl. You look so pretty like this. Getting fucked and still wanting my cock down your throat.”
You can’t help but whine at Seungcheol’s words and the weight of his cock on your tongue. Your eyes locked on him, you lean forward to take his head into your mouth, relishing the sound of his groan when warmth envelopes him and you hollow your cheeks.
Fingers once again tighten in your hair, nails sliding against your scalp as Seungcheol leans his head back to close his eyes. The feeling of your mouth was almost as good as being between your thighs and he was going to commit it to memory.
Thrusting into you hard enough to send you towards Seungcheol, Wonwoo groans your name before pulling from you completely, causing you to whine around Seungcheol. With a sharp slap to your thigh, Wonwoo then leans down to press a kiss to your warm skin as his cock throbs at the loss of your warm walls around him. He just couldn’t finish first, not when Seungcheol was in the room, he needed to be the last person you were with.
“Take it all, Princess. There you go…all the way to your throat. Perfect.”
The moment the tip of Seungcheol’s cock hits the back of your throat and you gag around the man you have to pull back not only to breathe but because of the feeling of Wonwoo’s mouth between your legs. His lips wrap around your clit and with the same intensity you had been using to go down on Seungcheol, your boyfriend sucks at the sensitive bundle of nerves causing you to tighten your thighs around his head.
“Holy shit! Calm down, Y/N. I can’t cum in your mouth and I don’t want to. Fuck…keep your damn hips down. Can’t you see that Wonwoo is working hard for you? Don’t run away from him.”
The two men caused your head to spin. One minute they were arguing, biting at each other’s throats over nonsense and the next they were working together to drive you crazy. Sliding his hand along the center of your stomach, Seungcheol works his fingers between your legs using two of them to spread your folds for Wonwoo’s tongue. A smirk spreads across his features at your reaction, the way your back arches before he pushes you back down.
“You gonna cum on his tongue like a good little slut? Be a good girl for your boyfriend. He’s being generous tonight. Give him one more before I fuck you so hard you can’t walk tomorrow.”
Nudging his nose against Seungcheol’s hand, Wonwoo groans against your folds before moving to wrap his arm around your thigh pulling you in closer to his mouth. You loved anytime that Wonwoo would eat you out but there was something different about tonight. There was something about how he seemed to be trying to prove a point with how quickly he could push you over the edge by knowing every inch of you.
“Oh my god…Wonwoo!”
Your fingers slide into the man’s hair, tightening harshly when you cum like both of the men had been urging you to do. Wonwoo smiles against your soft skin taking turns between licking you clean of the cum beginning to seep from your entrance to placing kisses on your swollen folds and clit.
“That’s my girl.”
Your cheeks burn at Wonwoo’s muffled words, your fingers gliding through his hair once again before the man’s gaze meets yours from between his legs. A glint of mischief in his eyes before he leans to nip at your thigh causing you to kick your legs playfully when he moves from between them.
“Cheol…need you now. I feel empty. You made promises.”
The man at your side can only laugh at your words and how you whine them on panting breaths. He loved to hear you beg for him but he wasn’t in the mood to deny you tonight, not when he had been waiting for so long to be inside you.
Sliding from the bed, Seungcheol can feel your eyes on him as he stops only to pick up the condom that Wonwoo had laid out for him. The same smirk that had been playing at his lips all night causes his lips to pull up to one side even as he holds the foil square between his teeth and rips it open.
You can’t seem to help how antsy you are in anticipation watching Seungcheol roll the condom over his thick cock. His eyes once again find you as he moves to take Wonwoo’s place. Warm, skillful hands slide over your sides to your legs as Seungcheol listens to your breaths become moans.
Wonwoo’s brows furrow, his cock resting back on his stomach as he settles into the chair beside the bed. Running his hand over his face, Wonwoo has a mental fight with himself on how long he will stay seated. How long he will be able to just sit there and watch his best friend touch you like that. It isn’t until you gasp out Seungcheol’s name, the older man’s hands pushing your legs towards your chest, his arms moving to pin yours at your side that Wonwoo makes another sound.
“Dammit, Cheol, be careful with her.”
Seungcheol smirks against your cheek, the feeling of your warm breath brushing against his face as he feels the heat of your pussy against his cock resting against your folds. Lifting his hips, the man glances towards Wonwoo with a questioning look before reaching between your bodies to line himself up with you and sinking into you slowly and deeply.
“I’m not doing anything she doesn’t want. You know your safe words don’t you, baby? Do you want me to treat you soft and gentle? Or…do you want me to keep my promise and wreck you?”
Tears run from the corners of your eyes as you whisper your answer to Seungcheol causing Wonwoo to curse under his breath. He already knew the answer but it was driving him crazy. He knew better than anyone how much you enjoyed Seungcheol treating you like this, he knew that you liked it when he treated you rough. There was a time and a place for gentle lovemaking and it wasn’t tonight.
“Please, Cheol…don’t stop. Feels so good, you’re so deep.”
Seungcheol chuckles into a groan. Your walls closing around him, the man nips at your lips before capturing them in a kiss for the first time that night swallowing your moan for himself. Wonwoo can only watch feeling as if he was tied to the chair, his cock leaking heavily against his abs.
“That’s right I am, Y/N. You like me deep? Hmm? Fuck, you are so tight. Wanna fill this pussy up with my cum, you’d want that, wouldn’t you? Leave it all dirty for you? Wonwoo would clean it up for you, wouldn’t you Wonwoo?”
Fingers digging into the chair, Wonwoo bites at his lips hearing you moan that you want it. He knew you were lost in the moment and he also knew there was no way, short of Seungcheol taking off the condom, that he could cum inside of you. This was a power trip and one that Seungcheol enjoyed far too much when it came to fucking you.
“You are fucking pushing your luck, Cheol. You’ll never do that to her.”
Seungcheol laughs, his lips sliding along your neck as he feels your thighs trembling against his chest under him. He could tell you were close, but so was he. Groaning out your name, Seungcheol runs his tongue along your neck to your ear whispering against your ear loud enough for Wonwoo to just barely hear.
“Never say never, right little whore?”
Scratching at his arms, you gasp out a moan loudly as your orgasm rips through you when Seungcheol’s cock hits you just right. Toes pointed, you find it hard to breathe, your vision clouded by tears from how intense the sensation is when the man burying his cock into you doesn’t slow down. Instead, Seungcheol chases his own high that quickly follows yours. With a loud groan, Seungcheol buries his face back against your neck as his cum fills the condom instead of you.
His hips coming to a stop, Seungcheol pants against your skin before leaning back to look down at you in wonder. Lifting his hand, the man rests it against your throat before running his fingers along your jaw and leaning down to kiss you deeply as he keeps his body connected to yours.
Swallowing hard, Wonwoo tilts his head. His own breath was unsteady from watching you and Seungcheol come undone together. He allows you both a few moments of silence until it becomes too much to handle and the sound of the chair under him sliding across the floor draws both yours and Seungcheol’s attention.
Lips pull up in a smile against your own before Seungcheol pulls away. A soft whimper escapes your lips to the feeling of the man sliding from you leaving you once again empty. Licking his lips, Seungcheol glances at Wonwoo unsure of what his reaction would be. He isn’t completely surprised when he meets an unamused gaze.
“Princess, did you have fun with Cheol?”
Nodding, you lift your own hand to your face pushing your hair from your eyes as Seungcheol helps you lower your legs. The man then slides from the bed completely not wanting to piss off Wonwoo any more than he already had.
“Mm, I had fun too, baby. Maybe we can do it again soon.”
Wonwoo purses his lips glancing back at Seungcheol who had already taken care of his condom.
“Soon" is a relative term. Do you still want me, Princess?”
Looking up at Wonwoo as if he had asked you the dumbest question possible, you watch the man’s lips turn up in a smile when you reach for him. Seungcheol’s brows lift as his friend moves back onto the bed without first telling him to leave.
“Did you want me to…”
“Sit the fuck down and watch, Cheol.”
With his brow lifting, Seungcheol clears his throat before doing as Wonwoo wants. His hands find the arms of the chair, similar to how Wonwoo had when he had been sitting before, but it felt different for Seungcheol.
“You see…” Wonwoo grins looking down at you, his fingernails running along your thigh to pull your leg up towards his hip allowing you to do the same on the other side as he pushes into you with one slow thrust. “Where you can talk shit and say how much you want to fill her up…I can do it.”
A breath escapes Seungcheol’s lips and as much as you want to look over to the man, the feeling of Wonwoo’s cock pushing against your cervix keeps you where you are. Your lips fall open in a moan and much like Seungcheol had done, Wonwoo leans to kiss you collecting the moan for himself. Teeth nip at your lips leaving them feeling swollen and bitten as Wonwoo’s cock fills you deeply and completely with each skillful, knowing thrust.
“That’s what you want isn’t it, Y/N? Cum dripping out of you? You wanna let Seungcheol see what he can do? Let him learn his fucking place?”
When you nod, Seungcheol lifts his hand to his lips pushing at them as his cock throbs against his thigh once again hard. He knew he should be pissed off that Wonwoo was talking so much shit but instead, he was fascinated by it all.
“Please, Wonwoo…I need it.”
Wonwoo pouts in faux concern at the whine in your tone as you beg for his cum. He was close and he was going to give you exactly what you wanted. Nodding, your boyfriend nips at your lips once again whispering how much he loves you against them as the coil that had been winding inside of him snaps. You feel his warm cum spilling into you only to be pushed out with each deep thrust.
Seungcheol can only groan at the sight, his breath getting caught in his throat. Even if it wasn’t his cum dripping out of your pussy it was still the most beautiful thing he had seen all night. He could just imagine pushing it back into you. As if he could sense what his friend wanted, Wonwoo slips from you only to reach between your legs. Two fingers brush between your swollen folds to find your dripping entrance. Your loud moans once again fill the room as Wonwoo fucks his cum back into you with his fingers making sure he feels your cum running down his wrist along with his own before he stops.
“Fuck, perfect.”
Whispered words tickle your ear as Wonwoo slides his fingers from you. His lips pepper your neck and shoulder until you feel the bed shift as the man slides from it completely. The feeling of Seungcheol’s plush lips finds your cheek along with the warmth of his chuckle as he whispers for you to get some rest your eyes close when both men leave you in the room alone. It isn’t until Wonwoo’s hands run along your hips and his deep voice mutters against your ear sometime later that you whine in protest causing him to laugh.
“You’ve slept long enough. You need to take a shower and eat something. I should have made you get up right afterwards but you were dead to the world.”
Muttering against the bed, you cause a laugh to escape Wonwoo as he pulls you up from the comforter into his arms with a questioning sound for you to speak again.
“Said, where is Seungcheol?”
Gentle fingers brush against your side as Wonwoo helps you slide off the bed and towards the bathroom. His lips meet your neck with a sigh at your question.
“He went home. He needed to rest too. You are a lot of work, you know that?”
Pushing at his shoulder, you can’t hide your smile. Wonwoo walks you into the warm shower letting you lean against him as he helps you wash the night from your skin.
“I liked it.”
The man nods, a smile on his lips feeling you nuzzle your face against his neck. It was becoming a lot easier to share when he was the one who got the moments like this at the end.
“Mm, I know. I liked it too. He’s gotta work on his damn mouth first. Can’t have that around my, Princess.”
Wrinkling your nose, you laugh at how Wonwoo phrases his comment, turning in his arms to rest your forearms on his shoulders as you rest between his knees. The man’s body leaning against the shower wall, the water running down your back and legs like rain.
“Seems like someone needs to work on yours.”
Wonwoo grins, his lips pressing against your soft and sweet.
“Mmm, you gonna help me with that?”
Laughing, you brush your fingers through the wet hair at the nape of his neck as his fingers trail along your lower back.
“It’s the least I can do.”

hi ! can u do when u flinch during an argument w/ seventeen
of course!
svt reacting to you flinching during an argument
cheol - he would freeze in shock, his mouth ajar after he saw you wince at him shouting. he couldn’t believe what he had done and tries to find the right words (“.. y/n.. i..”) but instead leaves out of the front door removing himself, the problem. he was supposed to protect you, to keep you safe, but he was the one who scared you. your expression replays in his mind as he gets in his car and drives away. he will never forgive himself for this
jeonghan - would suddenly let out a yell of anger and you would jump in shock. his eyes go wide “huh? i’m sorry, i wasn’t doing that at you i’m just mad at myself” and would reach out to stroke your face and bring you into a hug. he would feel you shaking under his touch and let go, stepping back to look in your eyes to say “i’m never mad at you, y/n” before giving you a kiss on the forehead
joshua - cannot see this man getting mad enough to scare you but the tension in the air during an argument would be insane, making you on edge and highly reactive. seeing this would turn his anger off like a switch as you're the most important thing to him and if you're uncomfortable he will do anything to change that.
jun - he reached to grab your hoodie that was falling off your shoulder and you jumped back away from his outstretched arm. it was cold outside and he didn’t want you to get sick. he was confused so he tried again but you stepped back once more. “why are you doing this? aren’t you cold?” he noticed your hitched breathing and slowly put two and two together. “i’m just trying to help, i won’t touch you if you don’t want me to”
hoshi - soooo confused. racks his brain trying to figure out what to do because he doesn’t want you to be scared. steps towards you grabbing your hand with both of his and gets down on his knees with his head lowered in an apology “whatever it is i did i’m super duper sorry, please don’t be afraid of me”
wonwoo - would raise his arms to run his hands through his hair in distress and notice you flinch from his unexpected movement. he would lock eyes with you and let his hands slowly fall so you would know that he wasn’t a threat. you would sit next to each other in silence for a while before you start to whisper an apology for your reaction, but before you could finish he would turn and say “you don’t have to apologise. i’m the one who should be sorry”
woozi - says in shock “why are you reacting like that? you know i would never hurt you, so why are you flinching at me? please trust me more y/n” and gestures for you to come closer to him so he can hold you tightly while whispering in your ear how much he loves you
dk - makes him feel like the worst person to ever exist and collapses into the sofa, his head in his hands. can’t look up at you no matter how much you try because he feels so sick. after he'll cling to you for the rest of the day making sure to do everything for you
mingyu - his height is intimidating on a good day let alone when he’s angry and he knows it. when you flinch he crouches down and looks up at you with his puppy eyes “i didn’t mean to scare you. i’ll stop now. i love you” and grabs your hand to kiss it before standing back up slowly and gives you a hug
minghao - i think he would be good at controlling his emotions and rarely get angry but if he did, your reaction would make him realise what he was doing and he’d instantly stop, apologise and ask if you were okay. if he felt angry again in the future he would walk away and calm down before returning to talk things through with you
seungkwan - he knows his reactions are pretty big and seeing you flinch makes him realise he should be softer with you. he would be so concerned and panic “oh god what do i do, i’m so sorry, i didn't mean to y/n. this doesn’t matter anymore, let’s stop arguing” and he’d be very disappointed in himself for being so careless
vernon - “crap did i scare you? i didn’t mean to, ah damn i’m really sorry” and lumbers over with his arms open to hold you. quietly he says “i would never, could never, hurt you. let’s drop this whole thing and do something else instead, what do you want to do?” and treats you extra special for the rest of the day
dino - his expression would turn from annoyance into worry "ah sorry sorry are you okay? do you want me to do anything?" and makes you go and sit down, bringing you water and kneeling in front of you to make sure that you were okay. he would rest his head against your knees for comfort

5:26pm | Seungcheol 1k
Slight angst, requested by anonymous, request me from here
“You’re late,” you deadpan the second your boyfriend sets his briefcase down on the hallway floor. You can’t even see him from the kitchen, but he surely can hear you. The two of you should’ve left for your family get-together already, 26 minutes ago to be precise. He promised he’d be home. He wasn’t.
He rounds the corner from the hallway into the kitchen, bottom lip tucked between his teeth every so slightly as he meets your gaze. You merely raise your eyebrows to which he sighs. “I’m sorry.”
“I know.” It wasn’t the first time this had happened. It surely wouldn’t be the last time. Seungcheol was a busy man, the fact that he’d even agreed to come was something. Him always getting caught up at work was just getting too frustrating at this point.
You look at him properly. His tie undone, first buttons too, jacket slung over his arm. Part of you understood why people found him intimidating. Dark eyes, darker brows, strong build. Yet when your eyes land on his, all you see is the sweet young man you fell in love with almost three years ago now. His eyes wide, innocent almost, avoiding your piercing gaze. “You’re not even going to give me an excuse?” you ask.
He shakes his head. “I don’t have one. I got held back.”
You nod. “Get changed, then we can talk. I can’t keep doing this.”
“Don’t say that,” he rushes, suddenly beside you, fingers warm on your wrist.
“Cheol,” you sigh, reaching out to let your fingers graze the line of his jaw, “I’m not breaking up with you. I just want to talk about it. I promise.”
He steps away with a deep sigh, trudging into your shared bedroom. It leaves you with time to gather your thoughts. The couch is comfortable as you sink into it, waiting for him to return. You have many words you want to say, but they all seem too harsh. Despite wanting to say so much, you don’t want to hurt him. It isn’t his fault entirely, and yet you can’t help but clench your jaw when you see your mom’s dejected text upon hearing that you won’t be coming tonight.
“Baby,” Cheol starts the second he returns to the livingroom.
“You’re sorry, I know,” you say again, eyes tracing him as he takes a seat in the chair next to you. “I just think we need to talk about this before I actually convince myself that you don’t care about me.”
His brows furrow the second the words leave your mouth. “What? How could you even—“ he stops himself, pursing his lips. “That’s going to be a stupid question, and you’re going to explain it to me. I’ll shut up. Please tell me what you want.”
Despite your anger, you can’t help but smile at him a little. “Listen, I get that you’re busy, and that your job at the company is important. What I do not understand however, is that you can’t come home on time when I ask you to. I don’t ask you to very often. And even then, would it be too much to at least call me to let me know you’re going to be late? Send me a text?” You pause, taking a deep breath before your emotions get the better of you. “I know you love me—“
“I do, so much,” he interrupts, catching himself as he does. He bites his lips, eyes going wide. “Sorry.”
Another chuckle leaves your lips. “I know you love me, but you’re starting to make me feel like your work is more important. Can’t your boss and coworkers be respectful of the fact that you have a life outside of work a few times a year?”
Seungcheol shakes his head. “I’ll try and be more firm next time. It’s just that I…” he stops again, eyes trailing off to the painting behind you. “It’s not okay, and I’ll do my best to not let it happen again. Okay?”
You tilt your head just a bit. “What were you going to say?”
“It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” He pushes it away with a smile that doesn’t quite reach his eyes, not the way it usually does. “Did you really think it’s because I don’t care about you? Baby there is no way I would ever forget you on purpose, I swear I stood in the hallway for like 45 minutes before I could go. They kept talking and pulling me into shit that had to be solved and—“
“Seungcheol,” you whisper, grabbing his hand where it’s tight around the armrest. “Stop, it’s fine. I know how work can be. Next time, just please let me know if you really can’t help it.”
“Next time I’ll just tell them that ‘sorry my w-girlfriend is waiting for me at home’,” he grumbles.
You let his little slip up slide for now. “What were you going to say though?”
For a moment the two of you have a silent conversation. His big eyes pleading you not to ask him, and you definitely not giving up until he gives in to you. Knowing he’d give you almost anything you asked for.
“The reason I’ve been so busy is because wellI’ve been trying to secure this promotion so that we can live more comfortably and all. I though that it would help us both out, so maybe we can get out of his apartment for a start.”
“What?” you almost gasp. “Seungcheol I’m living comfortable now than I ever have. You don’t have to get a promotion at work for me? Babe, this place is huge in my books. Don’t overwork yourself for my sake.”
He nods softly again, eyes full of love and adoration as always. “I still want to do it. I want to provide for you.”
You grab his hand so you can kiss his knuckles ever so softly. “Then I’ll support you.”
Maybe one day you’ll ask him if he really just almost did call you his wife.

pairing: lee jihoon x OC/fem reader
She disappears two days later.
Jihoon faintly hears the door open behind him through his noise cancelling headphones, but he doesn’t turn to look. He forces himself to focus on the task at hand, making the most heart-wrenching music he can. His broken heart is laid bare in his music that only he can hear. All the words he should have said but didn’t; all the emotions he should have let her into but didn’t show. It’s the only place he can put the feelings he’d hidden away out. The one place he can analyze them.
‘Do you want to talk?’ Seungcheol asks.
Jihoon stares at him like a deer caught in headlights. It’s the first day he’s decided to work out. And he woke up at 4 AM so that he wouldn’t catch anyone.
But Seungcheol was working at the kitchen island, which he never does. And he looks wide awake.
Once he’s recovered, Jihoon walks past Seungcheol. ‘I don’t.’
Without looking up from his laptop, he says, ‘I’m here when you’re ready.’
A few days later, Jeonghan catches Jihoon on his way back from the bathroom.
‘Talk. Now.’ Jeonghan drags Jihoon into her bedroom and watches Jihoon’s entire face steel itself. The room still smells like her intermingled with him.
Jihoon takes a steadying breath and then meets Jeonghan’s gaze.
‘What is going on with you?’
Both of them pause to let that statement sink in and then Jeonghan holds a hand up.
‘Let me rephrase that, because obviously I know what’s going on with you. You weren’t ready when she was here and now that she’s gone, you are. And you’re acting like a petulant little child who didn’t get what he wanted. What is going on with you?’
Jihoon stares back at Jeonghan, his face giving nothing away. After two beats of silence, Jihoon turns on his heel. ‘I don’t have anything to say to that.’
Seungkwan continues to bring Jihoon food since the man now refuses to leave his bedroom at all. The glimpse that Seungkwan has seen showed paper all over the floor and Jihoon at his desk. Due to the soundproofed walls, it’s hard to know what else is going on in there,
‘She said she’d be back soon,’ Seungkwan says when they sit down for dinner.
The members have taken to eating nearly every meal together since Seungcheol’s announcement. Without work, they’ve had more time to sit down and talk.
‘To clear her stuff out?’ Jeonghan enquires. He leans around Joshua for the rice. ‘Or to stay?’
‘She didn’t say.’ Across the table, Seungkwan catches Wonwoo’s eye. ‘Did she talk to you?’
‘We’ve gone over this multiple times already,’ Wonwoo huffs. ‘She said she was going to go home to work out some stuff.’ He pops a piece of chicken into his mouth and shrugs. ‘I didn’t pry. She and Jihoon got into a disagreement about something, and apparently, he was pulling away. That’s it. Nothing more.’
Seungcheol waves his chopsticks in the air. ‘This is supposed to be time for all of you to work out if you’re staying or not. Not to work out whether the lovebirds are going to stay together or not.’
The same thought crosses all their minds. Whether Seungcheol means romantically or not.
‘If they’re not together, will either of them stay?’ Minghao demands. ‘You’ve already heard from us that we’re not leaving. Even if you insist we think about it more.’
‘And they’re the best, Cheol.’ Jeonghan pours sauce over his plate. ‘You say that all the time.’
‘And we all know it,’ Soonyoung adds. ‘So, it matters to us if they stay.’
‘Collectively you are all just as good as they are,’ Seungcheol states.
‘We get more done, change more lives, if we have them here,’ Hansol points out. ‘And isn’t that the whole reason we do this? And if we can maximize the lives we can change by the lovebirds being together, then doesn’t that matter?’
Seungcheol’s head drops as he sighs. He looks around the table, realizes how important it is to them to know where the lovebirds do stand. ‘I talked to her before she left. She said she needed to think. I talked to Jihoon, and he doesn’t have much to say. But if she leaves,’ Seungcheol pauses, ‘he’ll probably go back to school. I said we’d help him in any way we can if he decided to do that.’
‘Back to school?’ they echo.
‘He’s been working on his portfolio. He’s not just in there crying.’ Seungcheol waves his chopsticks in the air. ‘Now can we all eat?’
A week later, Jihoon steps out of his room looking the most haggard they’ve ever seen him. He has a bag over his shoulder and a laptop under his arm. The members watch as he moves towards the door. They hear it open, but they don’t hear it close.
When they get up from the couch to check on him, they find the lovebirds standing in the doorway staring at each other.
‘We need to talk before you go,’ they hear her say.
Jihoon adjusts his bag over his shoulder before following her out.
‘What do you think that meant?’ Seungkwan asks the room.
Jun shrugs. ‘Not anything good.’
‘I can’t believe hyung was going to leave without saying goodbye,’ Seokmin says.
‘Well, we know the man’s never been very good at goodbyes,’ Wonwoo says from the couch.
They sit in the stairwell. Their bags sit between them, eyes straight ahead.
‘So, you’re leaving, I take it,’ she starts.
‘I applied to a few schools for musical production.’ Jihoon’s voice is flat. ‘I have some interviews today.’
She nods slowly. She’d gauged his appearance. He won’t be impressing anybody until they hear his music. ‘That’s good.’
‘When are you heading home?’ The way he asks it comes out strangled, as if he doesn’t want to know the answer.
She shrugs. ‘I’m not. I went to say goodbye.’
Jihoon’s back straightens and he finally turns to look at her. ‘Say goodbye?’
‘Yeah.’ She glances at him but can’t hold his gaze. ‘What we do is important even if the general public wouldn’t agree with the method. My talents are more useful here than anywhere else right now.’
‘But your parents.’
Her eyes dart over her shoulder, but no one bursts into the stairwell. Still, she lowers her voice. ‘I told them. Everything.’
Jihoon blinks, unsure of what to say.
She tips her head in his direction. ‘Told them the truth about you.’
‘Me?’
She nods but doesn’t elaborate. ‘And I gave them a code that I would send out when I could to let them know I’m okay.’
‘Seungcheol hyung said no communication.’
‘Cheol doesn’t have family to go back to,’ she retorts. ‘And to stay, I need it to be this way. My parents don’t get it, other than I obviously care about the work and about you.’ She sighs and picks her bag up. ‘I didn’t mention that we’re not actually a couple and that you also don’t know what you want.’
Jihoon looks up at her. ‘You know what I want, but do you know what you want?’
She frowns. ‘Jihoon, I want you. I want this life we have together,’ she pauses, ‘in whatever way you want us to be. I want to be with the others.’ She shakes her head. ‘But you got angry when I was worried for you, pushed me away at every turn, told me you needed to have walls around yourself because you’re worried that I’ll hurt you.’
Jihoon stands, because having her bombard him with too many truths might hurt less if they’re closer in height. ‘No one wants to get hurt.’
‘I know people have hurt you before, Jihoon.’ She studies him closely. ‘And I know one person in particular has really gotten under your skin. I’m sorry if I hurt you that way too. I didn’t mean for it to come off that way.’
A sound from the hallway pulls her attention away from him.
It makes Jihoon realize that he wants her to keep looking at him now.
‘And if you’re worried this family,’ she turns back to him, ‘is going to hurt you too, you really misjudged how much they support you. I can’t believe you weren’t even going to give them the decency of a goodbye.’
She waits for him to say something. When nothing comes, she bows her head, a sad smile on her face. ‘It was good to see you before you left.’ Her breath is shaky. ‘Bye, Hoonie.’
She starts to cross the landing towards the door, but Jihoon says, ‘Do I get no say in this conversation?’
‘I think you said everything you needed to when you told me that you needed to have walls up.’
Jihoon throws his arms up in frustration. ‘You left. For like two weeks. And didn’t tell me where you were going.’
‘You made that easy.’ Jihoon swears she stands straighter, chin held a bit higher, almost as if she’s bracing for impact. ‘I didn’t reach out to you, because I’m tired of feeling as if anything I do will cause you to disappear.’
Jihoon processes these words, working through all the mess they’ve caused to wind up here. With her standing before him saying goodbye.
‘So what do we do now?’
‘I don’t know, Hoonie.’ Her voice is tired. As if she’s had this conversation multiple times in her head and always wound up at the same place. ‘I let you break down every wall I put up. You’re the one who stopped letting me in.’
He can’t come up with a rebuttal to that.
‘I really don’t want you to be late for your interviews. Good luck.’ She gives him a final once over before disappearing into the hallway to greet the others properly.

When you wake up you’re freezing cold, and the handsome man who’s bed you spent the night in is no longer beside you. You sigh. Even though you already seem to be spending most of your time with him you can’t help but want him at your side permanently.
He’s also really warm, which is something you could do with right now.
Pulling yourself out from under the covers, your bare feet pad against the floor as you carry yourself downstairs to the kitchen area. The familiar awkwardness reminds you of the first night you spent here, and the unfriendly gazes you received on your first morning.
This time, however, you are greeted with a few warm smiles...but still no sign of the warm man you’re searching for.
Jeonghan smiles sweetly at you from his seat by the counter, “Seungcheol went out to get some groceries.”
“Ah, okay.” You smile softly back, following his gesture to sit next to him,
“Did you sleep okay?” he asks, shoving a spoonful of yogurt in his mouth,
“Yes, thank you.” You reply shyly, giving Seungkwan a quick thank you as he passes you a plate of toast.
“It must be a relief to have your friend back. I mean, even if he did go straight back home.” Jeonghan glances over at the brunette on the other side of the kitchen, “Though Shua has some bad news for you.”
“Bad news? Is Minhyuk okay?”
“Yes, yes, he’s fine now.” Joshua nods, “But, I ran some tests after you brought him back last night and it turns out whoever was with your friend had dosed him with several different types of medication, primarily a mixture of statins and benzodiazepines, which can cause memory loss. That’s probably why he seemed drunk and couldn’t remember where he was or who he was with.”
“So now we know for sure that someone is trying to get to you, and they don’t care about harming other people to do it.” Jeonghan frowns,
“They must be intelligent too, considering they know how to get into your apartment unnoticed, ensure memory loss and not have us know a thing about them.”
“But what do they want? Money...or-”
“You.” all of you flinch at Seungcheol’s sudden appearance in the doorway, voice rough and bag in hand. His face softens as his eyes meet yours but he stays on the opposite side of the counter to you (clearly something you aren’t happy about). “Like the note said, he or she is after you.”
A shiver runs up your spine at the thought of some creep desperate to have his claws in you.
“You know, after they get who they want a lot of stalkers end up killing their victims. They get bored of them eventually, or they can’t control them how they wan-”
“That’s enough, Seungkwan.” Cheol growls so scarily you you freeze in place, Jeonghan’s hand coming to rest on your arm in a soothing motion. Clearly he’s used to Seungcheol’s scary moments, but you aren’t, and his aggressive attitude has your legs shaking.
Joshua looks over at you with sympathy, watching in slight worry as said man turns to look at you. His gaze is still cold and almost psychotic but he somehow manages to spit out caring words, “Sweetheart, why don’t you go upstairs and get changed? I’d like to talk to the boys alone for a moment.”
You glance down at the toast you haven’t even touched, “But-”
“Now.” he growls, quickly softening his resolve, “Please.”
You rush out of the room as fast as you can, feeling like a child scolded in front of all their friends. You can already hear shouting when you reach the half-landing and you feel terrible for bringing the boys into your chaotic life. Shaking off the heavy guilt, you grab some clothes and head for a shower in Cheol’s ensuite.
You can finally relax when the hot water hits your skin, sending you into a comforting bliss. God, your life really is a mess, but is it your fault Seungcheol got dragged into it? I mean, he could’ve just left, he didn’t have to offer his home or himself to you. But then again, all of this started when you met him?
You sigh, resting your head against the cold shower wall as your thoughts plummet back into the cavern of negativity. You’re so desperate to find out who this stalker is you aren’t that bothered about your safety anymore, even if what Seungkwan said is true, at least you’ll finally know who’s so eager to be with you. You could sneak out tonight, maybe when the boys are out for drinks? That way, if your stalker was really as good as they seem then they would surely find you easily? And then you could confront them.
The angel on your shoulder is telling you this is the worlds stupidest idea, but the demon seems pretty damn keen.
-
You hadn’t spoken to Seungcheol for pretty much the rest of the day, but you’re sure it’s because he has been hiding from you - presumably not wanting to embarass you like that again. However, you did manage to convince Jeonghan into taking the boys out for drinks tonight rather than tomorrow. You recall the conversation; Jeonghan’s confusion as to why he would go out for drinks on a weekday, and then suddenly realising it was completely normal...strange.
“It’s almost like you don’t want to hang out with us,” Chan pouts as you rush him out of the door, trying to make sure he doesn’t get left behind (though Seungcheol is still lurking in the corridor).
“Of course I want to hang out with you, Channie, but it’s important you all still get your time together, without me.” You hug the very friendly man before shooing him away,
“Are you sure you’ll be okay alone, ___?” You jump slightly at Cheol’s worried voice, turning to look at him.
“Yes, of course, I’ll be fine.” you smile sweetly,
“I’ve locked all the windows and doors, but you have a key in case something happens and you need to get out. The other car’s on the drive if you need to get away, the keys are in the pot. Don’t open the door to anyone.” He orders, voice still soft and laced with concern, “If you need anything, or something happens, call me straight away. Okay?”
“Okay.” you place a kiss on his cheek, watching him walk away, only to turn back to you and grab your hands in his.
“And...about this morning, I-”
“-It’s fine.” You look up into his doe eyes, “Really.”
“I didn’t mean to scare you like that. I’m sorry. I normally don’t act like tha-”
“-Cheol. It’s okay. You don’t have to explain.” You smile softly, tugging on his collar to pull him into quite a passionate kiss. His lips move carefully against yours, almost scared he’ll break you, while yours push against his with a desire you’ve never had before. Pulling away, you release your hold on his collar, trying to ignore the buzzing feeling of sparks in your chest, “Drive safely, and have fun.”
You push his shocked form out of the house and somehow manage to close the door, ignoring his yells of ‘Wait, I’ll stay!’ and ‘Why don't I just stay here with you?!’ after your very steamy kiss.
Sighing, you rest your back against the door, waiting to hear the cars drive away before grabbing your coat and shoes. You choose to wait at half an hour before shoving your silent phone in your pocket, snatching up the car keys and setting off on your journey.
Having pre-planned your destination, you pull up on the other side of the woods, away from the boys’ house. After careful thought you decided this would be a good spot. There are a few empty, wooden buildings that have clearly been abandoned for quite a while. It’s the perfect spot to meet a creep.
Although naive, you did bring a knife and a bottle of pepper spray to prepare yourself for a sudden attack. You also have long nails...which would give you even more ability to stab.
Getting out of the car, you make sure to lock it, and it’s parked in the open so you can escape easily.
You hum to yourself as you glance around the site, all you really have to do is wait. Perhaps they would be more tempted if you were inside one of the buildings.
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
You end up with something that looks like an old house, not very big but still a suitable home.
Of course, it is slowly occuring to you that this isn’t the best idea, and even though the sky is a lot brighter due to summer it still isn’t bright enough to protect you from darkness. Shit. You don’t like the dark that much either. And there isn’t a light in this building for sure.
Time seems to be flying by as you’ve paused for thought in the hallway of the house. You’re thrown out of your mental debate as you hear a distant rumbling...that of a car. Rushing into the front room, you duck down just below the ‘window’ to hide yourself. The car seems to stop near yours and you hear the door slam. Footsteps seem to be growing closer and you dart to hide beside the doorway, pepper spray in hand.
When the front door opens, a familiar voice is heard. “___?”
You gasp, instantly running across the room to find a hiding spot behind the sofa. Holy shit.
“___, I know you’re here. Come out before I get mad.”
You hear him come closer and hesitantly stand up from behind the sofa.
Seungcheol scowls at you, clearly furious. “What the fuck are you doing?”
Your eyes scan back down to the floor, analysing the hardwood. To be quite honest, you are completely terrified right now. After his outburst this morning, and the shouting that ensued, your legs are shaking and your heart racing. So much that your hands are gripping the sofa to stop you from collapsing.
“Answer me. Right fucking now.” he growls,
“I-I thought-”
“You thought? Did you? I really don’t think you fucking did!.” You can’t even look up, too scared to see his clearly volcanic reaction, “YOU CALL THIS THINKING? ANYONE WITH A BRAIN CELL WOULD THINK THIS WAS A FUCKING TERRIBLE IDEA.”
At this point your eyes are overflowing, tears streaming down your face as you sniffle. You’re frozen in your position, knuckles white and hair covering your face. You choke back a sob in the momentary silence.
“Fuck.” Seungcheol sighs, walking over to you and cradling you in his arms, “Don’t cry. Please don’t cry. I’m sorry for yelling, okay?”
Your body’s natural instinct is to snuggle into his chest, but it fails to realise your fear barrier and instead you wobble slightly.
“___, I’m sorry for yelling but even you have to admit this was a stupid idea. Did you really think you’d be able to defend yourself against a lust-filled maniac?” He squeezes you gently.
"I'm sorry." You manage to squeak out, finally feeling your limbs loosen slightly. Your arms wrap around Seungcheol and you press your face into his chest, too embarrassed to look at him. "I'm sorry."
He sighs heavily, fingers playing with your hair. "I know you are, sweetheart, but you have to understand everything I'm doing is to protect you. You clearly didn't think about this. We're going to find out who this person is and we're going to do it the safe way, even if it takes a long time."
"I know. I'm sorry." You whimper, fingers digging into his coat. You're not sure how he found you, but you're glad he did.
"I shouldn't get mad at you. It's not your fault this is happening. You just don't know what to do, I don't know what to do." He mumbles, soon lifting you up in his arms and carrying you back to the car.
Your journey home is long and you aren't a fan of how darkness hangs outside every window. You're afraid you'll look up to see your stalker just across from you, and Seungcheol, sick of your ignorance, will let him take you. Even though he apologised, you know he's still angry and maybe that anger would have him push you out of his life and into the hands of a potential killer.
Without the outside to focus on you find yourself gazing at your knees and occasionally Seungcheol. Because of this, you notice how he seems to doubt whether to take you back home or not. When he realises your confusion, he stutters out a sentence about the boys being intoxicated and thinking it could be a better idea to stay at a hotel.
After your protests, he solemnly drives you back home, pulling into the driveway with some hesitance. He seems to observe the house in an uncomfortable manner, and winces when he hears a loud smashing noise from inside, followed by what sounds like a snarl.
"What was that?" You gasp,
"I, um, stay in the c-no, come with me, let's get you upstairs." He seems to panic, rushing you across the driveway and unlocking the door faster than you can blink.
He attempts to rush you up the stairs but with one glance into the living room you freeze, a burning sensation covering your body as you're hit with immense fear. Your eyes meet those of something you've never seen before, something large, with huge teeth and blood coating it's fur. It's almost as if time stops as the terrifying creature just stares back at you.
"What is that?" You whisper, still completely frozen in fear, heart beating so fast your pulse is almost deafening.
"___, I can explain."

Episode 3:
Mo Yeon and Nurse Choi moved into the bunkers, organizing whatever they were able to bring on the helicopter.
“There’s not much to organize,” Min Ji huffed softly.
“It’s ok since we’re tired anyways” Mo Yeon responded, folding her towel.
“Knock knock” a male’s voice interrupted their conversation. The girls looked and found a young man standing in front of them in military clothing.
“Have you been well?” he asked them, earning blank looks, Mo Yeon and Min Ji didn't seem to remember meeting him.
“The patient who ran away” he tried jogging their memories by jumping on one foot.
“Ay! Coupon thief!” Mo Yeon’s memory finally snapped and he remembered the young man that got beat up so badly. He was also the reason she met Shi Jin. They conversed when a girl’s voice interrupted.
“Excuse me, it’s time for me to see my friends” Mo Yeon recognized Yoo Ji’s voice as Yoo Ji shoved Ki Bum out of the way.
“Ahhhhh what are you doing here?” Mo Yeon squealed.
“I got transferred to the Taebaek unit last week, I guess they want me to cover what you guys do here.” Yoo Ji explained.
They talked for a bit more while Mo Yeon settled in, they even went to check on Nurse Ha and Doctor Song. they found them arguing over something, the two girls decided to leave them alone.
“Oh! I forgot my phone back in the bunker, you go ahead of me, I'll catch up.” Mo Yeon sighed.
Yoo Ji made her way to the dinner table and observed the scene, the Haesung team unit was still settling down but most of them were sitting around and enjoying the sun and the food, the unit prepared for them. She took notice of Chi Hoon and was about to go over and greet him. He was taking pictures with his camera, her steps halted when she saw one of the men stood in front of him. She got a little closer to hear their conversation.
“I need to inspect your camera,” Woo Geun said with his intimidating face. Yoo Ji rolled her eyes, he was using his face to scare poor Chi Hoon.
“You will delete these pictures immediately,” he told Chi Hoon.
“Why? Did you not like it? I can take another pictu-”
“We’re not allowed to have our pictures taken” Woo Geun responded. Yoo Ji snorted, ‘that’s ridiculous, why wou- oh’ she thought, she thought back to her conversation with Gwang Nam when she assumed he’s Special Forces. She turned her attention to Gwang Nam and Cheol Ho, trying to avoid camera flashes subtly. She guessed that the Captain and Deputy Leader were the head of the team.
While she wasn’t paying attention to Chi Hoon, Mo Yeon approached them snidely commenting on military regulations.
“They can’t tell us anything due to military regulations”
Woo Geun bowed his head to excuse himself from that awkward conversation. Yoo Ji couldn't hear what Mo Yeon said to Chi Hoon since her voice was a murmur at this point. Yoo Ji moved from her spot and decided to take part in the festivities. Some of the medical units recognized her and greeted her.
Gwang Nam was standing behind all of his friends and he was thankful, they would tease him until death if they caught him staring at Yoo Ji. the team and the soldiers knew her as the pretty reporter that can kick their ass. It didn't seem to matter to her what their rank was or how well trained they were, she always managed to turn the odds in her favor. She has been there for only a couple of days but they had seen her take Cheol Ho down when he was teasing her.
-they raise the flag and they go to the Medi-cube-
It was time for Haesung Unit to start their work. They were instructed to get blood tests from the soldiers to check for any irregularities. Yoo Ji stayed at the door and just observed as the doctors got settled down, the soldiers came in and hurried towards the female nurses and doctors. Yoo Ji snorted at their tactics.
Shi Jin came in, he nodded at her and walked towards Mo Yeon’s station. Yoo Ji watched as they interacted with each other. She knew what happened back home, and it seemed like they still aren't over it.
Gwang Nam moved to her side and watched his friend interact with the girl he likes.
“Do you think they’ll give their relationship a try again?” he pondered.
“Not after she pokes him like three times,” she responded when Shi Jin yelped. Gwang Nam looked at Mo Yeon with a scared expression.
“She’s not gonna do that to you” Yoo Ji rolled her eyes. Yoo Ji nodded her head at the old man came through the door.
“You’ve been working hard!” he praised.
“Did you come to receive the packages?” Shi Jin asked, still holding his arm.
“I did and I just came to greet you!” he laughed, and Shi Jin grinned.
“We should play ball and eat some meat this weekend” Shi Jin offered, his slight smile was gone when they heard a faint crash and a long horn-like car. Yoo Ji immediately moved from her position towards the exit. Trying to see if it was from the main entrance or not, she didn't get very far, Gwang Nam held her back, shaking his head no.
“This is your Captain, report the situation at the front gate” Shi Jin’s voice cut through all the soldier’s two-way radio.
“Everything is in place by the front gate, it seems to be a car accident by the mountainside” the soldier’s voice cut through the silence as some sighed in relief while one man’s eyes widened in panic.
“If it was the mountain road...did my car flip with my kids inside!?” the old man gasped in horror.
The Alpha team quickly assembled their gear and moved towards the Jeep. Yoo Ji swiftly got into the car through the open roof and waited for the guys to get in.
“What the hell are you doing?” Gwang Nam commanded.
“I am coming with, I am a reporter, I can do that” Yoo Ji pulled out two cards, one of them her ‘badge’ and the other is just a card that says ‘I do what I want’.
“You can’t, you’re a civilian. It could be dangerous” Shi Jin stated calmly but also allowed no room for discussion.
“Alright but don’t blame me if one of your vehicles go missing” Yoo Ji shrugged, swinging out of the car and jogging to where they kept their cars.
“Yoo Ji, wait” Dae Young’s voice called out while keeping eye contact with Shi Jin, having a nonverbal argument.
“Fine, she comes but you stay in the car” Shi Jin’s defeated tone called her.
“Sure, we’ll see” she nodded her head but muttered under her breath. Shi Jin turned to Gwang Nam and Woo Geun instructed them to stay on base just in case.
Gwang Nam couldn't argue with his Captain about his choice, but he couldn't help the worried look he sent Yoo Ji. she gave him a small smug smile and they were on their way.
They approached the flipped car, Shi Jin got out first and signaled Dae Young and Cheol Ho to follow him. As soon as they surrounded the car, Yoo Ji got out of the jeep and crept around the van to inspect the damage. She saw Dae Young checking for a pulse on the bleeding guy, and then moving around to the back where the doors are closed with a lock, Shi Jin inspected the bottom of the car that was on the top now. He frowned, something was wrong, how did the car manage to get there from the cliff, it was a little too far from the usual fall. Cheol Ho’s voice broke Shi Jin out of his thoughts.
“Police! hands up!”
“Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot! I’m UN! UN!” the young man’s voice yelped putting his hands up.
Cheol Ho swung his gun to the side and went to check the injured man’s body for weapons. She was still looking at the car and she noticed that there was a key that looked small enough to open the clasp on the van’s back door on the key chain, she quickly took out the keys.
“I am hurt! I am hurt! Treatment! Treatment!” the man frantically explained, he turned around not noticing Yoo Ji watching him from the other side. His face changed and he looked like he just screwed up. Yoo Ji furrowed her eyebrows. And stood up and tossed them to Dae Young who looked at her with a dismayed look. She mentally snorted, he really thought she would stay in the car.
Since Yoo Ji moved from her spot she didn’t see the man open the glove compartment, he slowly took out a G-47 and sharply turned to point the gun at Shi Jin.
Shi Jin saw it coming and intercepted it and punched him in the nose. His groan alerted Yoo Ji that he might not be who he is. She went to Shi Jin’s side and glanced at the gun.
“Isn’t he a member of the U.N.? The relief team isn’t allowed to carry guns”
“Then why would he have a G-47?” she questioned.
“They say they’re U.N. but they have tattoos from foreign legions and their clothes don’t fit properly” Shi Jin inspected.
“Yet they insist they are UN, who are these people?”
Dae Young finally opened the back door to the van, he found trunks that were filled with packaged clothes and guns, big guns. Yoo Ji was standing behind him, her eyebrows shot up.
“They’re trying to smuggle weapons across the border using the U.N. as a cover?” Yoo Ji furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
“You tell me, you’re part of the U.N.” Shi Jin stated back. Yoo Ji shook her head, she didn't hear any chatter about smugglers at the U.N. meetings. She went up to the injured smuggler and took his identification card, and inspected it.
“It looks like the ID is fake, the serial numbers don’t start with 103- its 003” Yoo Ji informed them. In the end, Shi Jin called the local police, but Yoo Ji doubted they would stay at the station for a long time. The police in Urk was always bought with money and don’t really stand for justice. She knows first hand because she was able to get information from one of them before.
As they went back to base, Mo Yeon caught them walking.
“Did anyone get hurt?”
“No it was just a car accident, don’t worry about it” Shi Jin assured her.
Shi Jin needed to go to the main base in town to report the car accident, and Mo Yeon needed Wifi so Dae Young, the best wingman on earth, suggesting that Shi Jin takes Mo Yeon to an internet cafe.
Dae Young caught Yoo Ji chuckling at his suggestion, Mo Yeon being one to never back down from a challenge, which that’s what it felt like to her. She took him up on the offer and got into the blue car with Shi Jin.
“What if they kill each other in that car?” Yoo Ji was amused. Gwang Nam joined them looking at the retreating car.
“One is great with sharp objects and the other has martial arts.” Dae Young weighed the possibility.
“She doesn't have her scalpel with her, I think they’ll be fine” Dae Young waved off. Gwang Nam chuckled at his comment.
“How do you know if I didn't teach her how to defend herself without weapons” Yoo Ji faked her serious tone. Truthfully she taught Mo Yeon basic self-defense but Shi Jin can totally overpower her in a few seconds, the boys didn't know that. Gwang Nam and Dae Young’s face fell and dread settled in their stomachs, but Yoo Ji’s laughter made them sigh in relief.
Shi Jin drops Mo Yeon at Ye Hwa’s convenience store and goes to do the report, his superior tells him to leave it alone because the police are getting involved in some shady shit and they don’t want to ruin Korean relations with Urk. he went back to pick her up and they went to the secluded beach while he told her the story of how he met Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myung Ju. They came back really late to Chi Hoon carrying a small child to the infirmary. Mo Yeon quickly followed him and Shi Jin on her heels. After they finished diagnosing the child, Shi Jin went to where Dae Young and Gwang Nam and Yoo Ji were playing cards.
“So how was it? Everyone back in one piece?” Dae Young teased when he saw Shi Jin at the door. He had a pensive look on his face as he leaned on the doorway.
“Did you know that the Haesung Chairman tried to get Mo Yeon to sleep with him on their first date?” he asked Yoo Ji who was trying to focus on the game.
“Of course I knew, I am not cut off from the world” she rolled her eyes and put down three hearts.
“Why didn't you tell me?” Shi Jin asked with a pout on his face.
“Why would I? Are you dating Mo Yeon?” she seriously asked him, looking him in the eye.
“No but that guy is an asshole!” he let out a frustrated groan.
“I know, I was tempted to punch him too but I was here and I couldn't do anything” she replied.
“I should’ve circumcised him before I left so he would only have his illegitimate children when he needs an heir” Yoo Ji muttered, making all three men look at her in surprise.
“What? Are you surprised I know that or that I can get violent?” she questioned.
“He has illegitimate children?” Shi Jin’s lips started to widen into a smile, then it was a full-blown laugh.
“How do you know these things?” Gwang Nam queried.
“I have sources.” she cryptically said. When all three of the men’s radios went off. Something was happening.
“We’re going under FPCON BRAVO” Dae Young informed Yoo Ji.
“Force Protection Condition” Gwang Nam translated to Yoo Ji. They left their game and went to get ready, they were going to get briefed on the situation. All that they knew was that the Medi-Cube was under protection.
“It turned out that President Mubarat of the Arab league needs medical attention” Shi Jin repeated the information that was given to him by his superior, Dae Young and Shi Jin were briefing their team on who the resident was, and how important his role was.
Yoo Ji was waiting with the medical team, she was observing quietly from the back, it seemed that she didn't pick up on the tension between Shi Jin and Mo Yeon because they seemed to be upset with each other. Shi Jin silently handed Mo Yeon the medical chart of the patient.
“What is this? Everything is censored, how do they want us to read it and make a proper diagnosis?” Doctor Song protested when he saw the black lines going through the vital information.
“In the VIP Charts there are more lies than truths anyway” Mo Yeon responded
“Why would any doctor do that?” Chi Hoon was puzzled, probably thinking about how it’s illegal to record false information.
“Just like poor people need Schweitzer, VIPs need special doctors too, their medical history can be used as their weakness” Mo Yeon continued, not noticing Shi Jin’s look, Yoo Ji did, and he looked like he regretted something. Probably something he said to her.
The patient arrived and they started performing emergency medical procedures, the president’s bodyguards tried to make Yoo Ji step out of the room. Yoo Ji already knew that they would try so she showed them her UN badge and that she can be their translator as she was able to speak Arabic fluently. They had no choice but to allow her, as there were a language barrier and so little time.
As they talked about the patient’s treatment, it seemed that it wasn’t going too well, and the guards were expecting Yoo Ji to translate, but she found herself confused as well.
“The symptoms don’t add up, how is that even possible?” she added.
“That’s because there is something that they don’t want us to know about,” Mo Yeon said, turning to look at Shi Jin.
“I need to open him up to see what's causing the bleeding in the abdominal cavity,” Mo Yeon told him before turning to her medical team.
“Prepare the operating room quickly!” her order was cut off when the main security guard spoke up in English.
“I can’t let you do that, you can’t operate on him” he paused,“The President’s doctor will be here in an hour,” he stated.
“The patient won’t last an hour, they need to operate now” Yoo Ji intervened in Arabic knowing that if they didn't save him now it will be blamed on them and if he does die then it’s also on them, and she saw in Mo Yeon’s eyes that she was willing to take the chance. Everyone’s eyes widened when they heard her speak Arabic, they didn't know she spoke Arabic fluently.
“I can’t let you put a knife in the leader of the Arab world.” he insisted.
“What do you mean? If I don’t operate now he won’t last 20 minutes” Mo Yeon responded in English.
“Only Arab doctors perform on the President!” the bodyguard pulled out his gun and pointed it at Mo Yeon, Yoo Ji could see the breath she sucked in. Yoo Ji surveyed the room and tried to find a weapon she could use in case things got ugly. She was still standing beside the bodyguards and with the way things are going that didn't seem safe. She locked eyes with Gwang Nam. The medical team took a visible step back while the Alpha Team all reached for their guns, keeping their hands above the holster when Shi Jin motioned with his hand to wait.
Gwang Nam signaled with his eyes to start making her way to their side behind him. She slowly inched towards them as Shi Jin listened to his superior on the radio and Mo Yeon told the bodyguard that once she removes her hands, he will die.
“I am not trying to change history here.” she tried one last time to convince him. When he didn't budge, Shi Jin listened to his superior as he talked. The alpha team is doing the same. Yoo Ji watched Gwang Nam’s face to try and decipher what he’s saying, she didn't think it was anything good as all of their eyes flickered to Mo Yeon at the same time.
“Can you save this patient?” Shi Jin asked Mo Yeon, it seemed like he made a decision already and Dae Young was on the same page as him. It really impressed Yoo Ji how they communicated silently and got the message across to all five of them without uttering a word. Gwang Nam gestured for her to hurry up.
“I can save him” Mo Yeon’s soft voice called out and Shi Jin nodded and turned off the radio, and took out his earpiece while Gwang Nam gestured Yee Ji again to come closer.
“Then save him” he put up his gun quickly. Yoo Ji had swiftly made her way to Gwang Nam’s side and was standing behind him. He was pointing his rifle at one of the bodyguards. Yoo Ji held onto his back feeling his warm body. She slightly blushed at the contact but she knew now isn’t the time and especially when this could be their last day on earth, she shook it out of her head and focused on the bodyguards’ faces from behind team Alpha.
If this was any other circumstances he would have totally had a moment about her touching him, but this was life and death right now, he’ll have to wait.

Kismet (Chapter 18): A BTS Jin Imagines Fanfic
First ever fanfic. Contains some fluff and smut. Please read sequentially as it is a long story arc. Please provide feedback! My IG is btskismet.
November 7, 1944
Jun-seok was staring at a short Japanese man with a funny mustache. It was as if this man was trying to copy Adolf Hitler's tiny mustache. However, his mustache didn't seem to grow as well as Hitler's so it was half the length of the German dictator's, which made it look slightly skewed.
He expected for the Shosa (Major) to look a little more... refined. After all, he was the highest ranking officer in this district so far. He overheard that General Isumi was traveling to the capital of the country but would be back soon. So, Shosa Kimori would be calling the shots in this district for sure.
The man was smoking a tabacco as he was sitting inside what used to be a meeting room in the government building. He was looking at several papers placed on top of the table beside him.
He saw that he was looking at the military application form he filled out when he applied to be part of the Japanese Army. As the man looked at each page intently, Jun-seok shifted his weight while standing, anxiously waiting for what he had to say.
"So you know how to speak both Japanese and Korean, eh?", the man asked.
"Hai, Shosa Kimori", Jun-seok answered with a loud voice.
"Oh, I'm not Shosa Kimori. I'm Tai-i (Captain) Yuzawa. The Shosa couldn't meet you today. He went to the next town."
Jun-seok bowed really low and expressed his apologies. He felt stupid and for sure, he would be getting a beating. What a horrible mistake.
"It's alright. Stand up. I have another question for you.". Captain Yuzawa said, motioning Jun-seok to stand up straight.
"Do you know how to speak English?", the Captain asked, looking up to Jun-seok with one of his eyebrows raised.
Jun-seok hesitated. He thought he might need to lie because he might be sent to the enemy lines if he said he didn't speak it well enough, especially after what he said earlier. Would it matter if he didn't?
Before he was about to respond, the Captain raised his right hand and waved it slightly in front of his face. He was letting Jun-seok know that he didn't need to answer. "If you don't know, it's fine. The Mayor has someone in his family who can speak Japanese. It's important that you can speak both Japanese and Korean. Not all the locals speak very good English either."
Captain Yuzawa sets aside the papers and stands up to look out the window. He smoothens the creases on his pants. Jun-seok can tell that this man was stern and very detail-driven - his office was impeccably clean and all items on his desk, though minimal, were placed in a very purposeful way. Nothing was out of place.
When he faced Jun-seok, he started to speak in a very firm voice and said, "First of all, I don't agree having you here, Ittohei (first class private) Sakurai. We are having problems with some of the platoons here so if you do the job Shosa Kimori wants you to do, I think it will cause more trouble."
The Captain came up close to Jun-seok, peering into his eyes as they were of the same height. "Do you think you can speak to your fellow stubborn-minded Koreans to stop killing the populace?"
Jun-seok was flabbergasted in so many levels with the Captain's question. Yes, he heard the blatant insult to his race but what perplexed him was the fact that they were killing people and he was challenged to stop them.
"I will do my very best, Captain.", Jun-seok said as firmly as he possibly could. He knew he wasn't as confident as he would've liked, especially in front of this man who has profound disdain of his presence.
"Tch.", the Captain muttered and sat back down. "Dozo", he said and offered the seat across his table for Jun-seok to sit on. "I have a lot to share regarding your orders. Sit."
They spoke for almost an hour about what Jun-seok was ordered to do. It involved him knowing all the Korean platoon leaders and soldiers in the camp.
Lieutenant Akagi aka Gang Cheol was the one the army had most trouble with. Since he was the only commanding officer in certain remote areas of the district, he was the one who gave orders of having several locals killed on the spot. He also executed them as well. Though he was diligent in following orders from up top, if he was the lone officer with his platoon, he would exercise brutality in the most horrid way.
“Lieutenant Akagi's platoon is fiercely loyal to him because they are all Koreans. But a few follow him because they are afraid to be beaten up.”, the Captain said with a bit of displeasure. Jun-seok thought that the Captain probably had several issues with Lt. Akagi in the past. After all, the lieutenant reported to him. He must’ve been reprimanded before in not being able to keep Lt. Akagi in line, he thought.
"We are stern and brutal if we need to be, especially to set examples to the locals. But if we just randomly kill them, then it doesn't serve our purpose here. Plus the Shosa is friends with the Mayor and he needs to have the coffee fields removed so we can build the tarmac. But he can't just order them to be done or else he destroys the friendship he has with the Mayor."
"Why is the Shosa friends with the Mayor of the town?", Jun-seok asked.
"Wouldn't you be if the man saved your life?"
The Shosa was in camp the first few days he arrived to the country and then rebel forces infiltrated it. A bullet struck the Shosa's abdomen and was bleeding heavily. The Mayor was on his way to the camp since he was summoned minutes before the fighting broke out and to take cover, he went inside the tent where the Shosa was at. He saw him and instead of running away, he dragged him to a nearby jeep and drove to the town hospital and had him treated. If he didn't do that, the Shosa would've died.
"Since then, Shosa Kimori wants to respect the Mayor and his community's needs to keep the town's resources running and for them to keep supporting us. Akagi and his platoon's antics are ruining those chances."
Jun-seok assessed how dangerous this was going to be. He knew that he would have extreme difficulty dealing with Akagi-san if he found out that Jun-seok is really Kim Man-seok's son. He had to make sure they thought of him as purely Japanese. But he won't be able to communicate with them if that's the case; they would shut him out.
"Captain, none of them must ever know that I am Kim Man-seok's son." Jun-seok said hurriedly. "Or else I'll never get close to them."
The Captain nodded in agreement. “Yes, you would have that difficulty. We have to make sure they don’t know. Did your face appear in any of the photos in the newspaper?”
Jun-seok tried hard to remember. He knew it was only photos of his father and brother that appeared in the papers. Since he was younger then, his mother made sure that he was not exposed to the media as his father and brother were recovering in the hospital.
“No. I’m sure of it”, he replied to the Captain.
“Alright then. You are to mingle with the rest of the platoon and make sure to get the others soldiers to change their mind about Akagi so they will follow him less. If Akagi sees that his soldiers are not as loyal to him, he would be less confident and then we can easily move him out of the platoon. If we did that now, his platoon will rebel against the higher officers and we will never get anywhere. Knowing them, they would kill everyone on sight. And I don’t want to lose soldiers anymore by executing them. We still have the rebel factions to deal with and I have less troops as it is.”
Jun-seok nodded and understood his orders. He also surmised that he had to be crafty to make this work. His life depended on it too. Looking at Captain Yuzawa, he wasn’t one who would accept failure. He wouldn’t hesitate to execute Jun-seok if he failed.
“Before we assign you to the barracks to meet the platoon, you will have to report to the Jun-i (Warrant Officer) Watanabe. He handles our military equipment and you’ll be reporting to him. He is aware of your ‘other’ mission and agreed to help you.”
Jun-seok’s face lit up as soon as the Captain mentioned about the warrant officer and the latter noticed. “Yes, you are getting what you wanted, private. We are not going to let your skills go to waste. After all, you are going to work to get that tarmac built - it’s only fitting you get to work with actual aircraft.”
“Yes, sir! You can count on me, sir!”, Jun-seok said, beaming because of this news.
“You are dismissed.”
Jun-seok stepped out of the office and was given information by the other private outside. He had to pick up supplies from the local market and meet the warrant officer there.
He couldn’t contain his happiness with the news. Finally! I’ll be able to do what I really wanted to do.
Jun-seok was pleased and he did a bit of a skip as he was walking to the market. He was smiling to himself, thinking of what it would be like to get close to an actual fighter plane. “I hope I can work on a Zero* or even the new Hayate**! That would be so cool!”, he thought with a huge smile.
He was jostled from his thoughts of fighter planes when he reached the market. It was a busy area that morning and he was surprised that a lot of the locals were there and it was pretty noisy. He noticed that the locals didn’t seem to be too scared of the soldiers here as they were also quietly mingling with them, buying produce and food. The locals were selling their wares of vegetables, fruits, rice and fish. The smell of coffee was pretty strong as there were stalls brewing coffee and selling coffee beans.
He came upon one stall and looked at the beans being sold. They were of good quality and they smelled wonderful. A young man talked to him in broken Japanese, asking if he wanted some. He said yes and he was given a small bag of ground coffee. When he was about to pay, the man decline. “Muryo de (free of charge)! Ok?”, the man said.
He bowed and thanked the man. As he walked away, he put the bag near his nose. The coffee smelled so good and this made Jun-seok smile. But he stopped in his tracks when he was in front of the sundries store where he was to meet Warrant Officer Watanabe.
“There she is again.”, he muttered. He was looking at the young woman he saw earlier who helped the man who was beaten up by the soldier. She was still wearing the same clothes and the nice 1940s hairstyle she had. She was smiling and talking with a Japanese officer in a very respectful yet comfortable way. he could see that the officer was smiling and acknowledging her, pleased that they were conversing.
She was bowing slightly for every comment the officer gave and though she moved respectfully, he could see that she was comfortable in her own skin. Like she was not about to be bossed around. She was very confident, even though she was acting gracefully and respectfully towards the superior officer.
“She really is beautiful.I wonder who she is.”, he thought, observing her intently.
He started walking towards her and the officer but as he was about to approach them, she started saying goodbye to the officer.
“Gokigen'yō, Jun-i! Atode mata hanashimashou!” (Have a nice day, Officer. Talk to you later!), the lady said to the officer and waved. She didn’t look where she was going and bumped into him, which startled her.
“Ah, gomen nasai, Yakuin (I’m sorry, officer)!”, she said loudly and bowed her head low.
Jun-seok gave a short chuckle as soon as she bowed, finding her quick change of disposition amusing. Because of this, it made her look up quizzically.
“Daijobu desu (It’s fine).”, he said softly. This made her stand up straight and bowed slight before walking away quickly.
He looked back as she walked away, quite curious about this beautiful woman who was sparky and exciting underneath the surface. And to his surprise again, she looked back at him with that intense stare before walking away.
“I will meet you again.”, he declared in his mind before his attention was called by someone.

❅ Christmas with You ☃ *:・゚| S . C O U P S
word count: 1,671
» to @lovelycheollie, my soulmate, my tumblr boo, i love you hannah, and im sure you are aware of that. i am more than glad that i stumbled on your post and used it as a preference for one of my works, because if it weren’t for that, i wouldn’t have met you. you are my unnie, yet you didn’t want me to call you in our language’s terminology of ‘unnie’ haha. you were the first one to sensed that i was doing your christmas wish as a series, and you have no idea how much i freaked out when you found out. i tried brushing it off, though im a very weak liar. and im very sorry for lying. i wanted this to be a surprise so i have to lie, and i think it’s all worth it. oh and i wanted this to post in your birthday so that it will serve as a birthday and christmas gift, but like what i said, you sensed it already HAHA. i love you, oops i already said that. im looking forward to meet you, it was a shame that you are only one bus away and i couldn’t even meet you HAHA. happy birthday and merry christmas in advance, hannah! ♡
Your heart was continually expanding and filling up with rainbows and confetti’s during the season of snowflakes and candy canes. Homely warmth spreading all over your ecstatic body, lively and random Christmas jams blasting from the humongous speakers, and a wild Seokmin singing his heart out together with Seungkwan and Soonyoung. You couldn’t hold your excitement anymore, blurting out a crack up at your sight.
A strong and firm pair of arms bundled around your figure from the back, followed by a chin resting gently on your shoulder. “Why are you not joining the party?” He questioned, his low voice ringing your ears.
An amused smile nonchalantly spread in your lips. “Can’t you see? They’re all boys, my boyfriend would be concerned.” You replied, resting your free hand on top of his arm, caressing his soft skin with your thumb.
Seungcheol felt safe and proud with you. Having this party with the rest of the members gave him huge hesitation at first. It surprised him when it didn’t meet his expectations with you. Seungcheol wanted to spend the day alone with the love of his life, but you wanted this party, and you have the assurance of not being regretful after partying all day with thirteen dorks.
His soft plump lips landed on the space where your neck and shoulder meets, sending electricity that bolted and waken up your inner softness. You became deaf, completely forgetting the existing world around the two of you, the loud music, the free bodies swaying, the voices, all of them, gone, as you turned around and locked your eyes with his own. Arms involuntarily rested against his shoulders, and a curve lifted up at the ends of your lips. He tugged your knitted sweater, pulling you a little closer to him, immediately sniffing his strong scent that intoxicated your system. The ambiance of the room felt a lot warmer with him, despite the cold season. You were drowning from the pools of his brown eyes. Your face engraved on the windows of his soul. Then he smiled back at you, a smile that screams fireworks and gifts.
He started leaning down, slowly, with a smile still plastered on both of your faces. His eyes closing, while you sweetly flinched and stiffled a giggle from the touch of his long lashes on your cheeks. His lips slightly brushed with yours, aiming perfectly until–
“Coups hyung! The foods are ready!”
Seunghceol’s head jolted backwards, his jaw clenching as Mingyu called him from the kitchen. You let out a sigh, finding frustration in your boyfriend’s eyes. “Later,” He sighed as well, shaking his head. His attention darted to the rest of the boys who were still screaming on the top of their lungs. “Yah, kids! Come on, let’s eat.” He announced loud enough for them to hear, and thankfully, Jihoon paid attention to him.
In a swift second, everyone rushed to the dining as if they haven’t been fed for two weeks, making you earn a laugh. “Everything is fun when they’re around.” You said happily.
A hand was placed at the small of your back, immeadiately felt safe from his touch. “They’re happiness.” Seungcheol stated enthusiastically.
You cautiously turned to him, eyebrows knitted. “Five seconds ago, you were pretty much disappointed because Mingyu interrupted–”
“Yah, love birds. Are you or are you not going to join us? Because if not, this smoked ham that Mingyu cooked would be gone in ten seconds.”
Your head immediately shot up to Jeonghan’s direction, who was smirking at you. Without a percent of hesitation, you scampered on your way to the dining room, pushing the boys to give way.
The long glass table was filled with sorts of festive foods. A plate of white pasta, few bottles of cold champagne, two different kinds of desserts mainly salad and chocolate cake, and your long requested smoked ham at the center. You could feel your mouth started watering from the very tasty sight.
You removed your eyes from the cuisine and turned to Mingyu and spoke. “But I thought you couldn’t find smoked ham?” Your cheekbones lifting up from excitement.
“Do you think I’d let it slip? Of course, I told Mingyu to learn how to cook one for you.”
You turned around to see Seungcheol grinning down at you.
“I wish it’s good.” Mingyu sighed, taking a seat.
Everyone else including you took your seats around the table. Seungcheol, being the oldest among the group, led the prayer before everyone started munching the blessings. He reached for the big plate of smoked ham, gradually slicing a piece before placing it on your plate, and you quickly muttered a ‘thank you’ for his kindness. The meat’s tenderness exploded in your mouth like firecrackers.
All of you continued to enjoy the meal sharing happiness and love. It was indeed the season to be jolly, and you are beyond joyful, having your friends to celebrate Christmas with you, and of course, your best friend and boyfriend.
You were watching him the whole time, observing the way his smile reaches up to his eyes, wrinkling a little, and you thought he was the most beautiful gift you received this Christmas.
“Y/N, how was Boomer?” Jeonghan, who was sitting across, interrupted your thoughts.
You looked at him confusedly, an eyebrow raised. “Who?” You asked.
As fast as a lightning, Seungcheol’s gaze swiveled at Jeonghan as well, shooting him a taunting look with his eyes wide and lips parted a bit.
“Someone’s in trouble.” Jihoon smirked before placing a mouthful of pasta in his mouth.
“Jeonghan, who’s Boomer?” You chuckled, resting your elbow on top of the table. “Babe, who’s Boomer?” You immediately cornered the both of them, taking advantage of the fact that they’re hiding something.
Seungcheol was in defeat already. He was so done with Jeonghan’s clumsiness, giving him one last warning look before he swore to himself that the guy will pay later for spilling his surprise. “Boomer,” He sighed, shaking his head, making Jihoon laugh louder. “Babe, it was supposed to be a surprise but–”
“Oh my gosh, you got a dog for Y/N?”
The rest of the boys lost it and cracked up, clapping their hands from Vernon’s innocence. Even you, who was clueless for a second, couldn’t help but find it adorable how Vernon literally spilled Seungcheol’s tea.
But the thought suddenly hit you, making you jump a little at your seat as you just realized what Vernon had divulged. A dog?
“Yah, this is why you should stop using your earphones when I’m planning something, right? You and Jeonghan just ruined the surprised.” Seungcheol glared to both of the boys mentioned, hissing on his statement. He turned to you, and in a blink, his expression changed into a sweet one as if he wasn’t pissed two seconds ago. He grabbed both of your hands, warmth spreading intensely, but in a sweet way. “I got you a dog.” He smiled, squezing your hands reassuringly.
“You got us a dog.” You breathed out in disbelief.
Besides celebrating Christmas with these boys, Seungcheol knew how you wanted to raise your own puppy, so right before Christmas approached, he grabbed the opportunity and paid himself to visit the pet store, signing every contract needed before finally engulfing your new dog in his arms.
No one noticed Soonyoung’s sudden absence from the group. The boy had sneaked himself, secretly made his way to your bedroom, where Seungcheol had placed your new puppy that was patiently waiting for his new parents to come and get him. A mild whimper caught everyone’s attention. Fast yet soft footsteps rang the room, making you turn your head immediately, to see a brown and white welsh corgi puppy running towards your direction.
You let out a very high pitched squeal, lifting the puppy with your hands. He surprisingly fit exactly in your palms, his soft fur almost tickling on your touch. You brought up the dog to your shoulder, embracing him carefuly with your arms.
Seungcheol felt his heart melted. He’s satisfied, having his friends, the pleasant meal, the warm celebration of Christmas with the important people in his life, having you beside him, having to see you smile. He’s beyond satisfied, and he couldn’t ask for any better gift for Christmas than this, than you.
You gazed at the man you love and witnessed the stars in his eyes, but Seungcheol thought he rather caught a glimpse of the whole universe in yours.
He leaned his figure to yours, petting your new dog. “See, it was supposed to be a surprise, but these two can’t keep their mouth shut. Merry Christmas, my love.”
You cautiously and carefully put down Boomer before gripping Seungcheol’s shirt, crashing a thankful and passionate peck on his lips. “I love you, Cheol. Thank you for making me the happiest. Merry Christmas to you too.” You mumbled on his neck.
“Okay,” Chan announced. “Let’s celebrate the rest of this day together, shall we?” He clapped his hands, standing up to gather everyone’s attention.
All of them cheered at Chan’s statement, making him receive tons of ‘woos’ and ‘let’s go’ before they all stood up and made their way back to the living room, leaving the two of you still settled on your seats, but Jeonghan noticed that the both of you didn’t effort to stand.
“Don’t you dare think of staying here you two. Y/N, you wanted this party. Enjoy it!” Jeonghan pulled your wrist, making your stand up forcefully..
“Okay, okay!” You laughed at him. You looked at Seungcheol, who was already smiling at you. “Does my boyfriend want to join the party?” You teased, crossing your arms over your chest.
He stood up as well before snaking his free arm around your waist. “Let’s go party then.” He winked, pulling you with him to the mini crowd of thirteen boys.

“It’s not going to work out. Let’s end it here, while we’re both on good terms. Don’t worry and don’t be sad. You’ll find someone soon, who’ll cherish you the way I did.”
Those words tumbled around his confused mind as he sat on top of his red suitcase. He didn’t know if his cheeks were flushed from crying or from having come out of the shower a bit back. His hair was still damp and his white phone hung lifelessly, almost as listless as he was, from his hands.
He didn't understand. The two of you were happy! What went wrong? He felt a pang of despair and longing stab at his heart again and he wanted nothing more than to run out of this deserted airport, sans him and the other members that were to arrive soon, and just run back home —to your home —and hug you just like he always did when he returned after a long day of work.
He just wanted to kiss you again, to play with your cute face again, to surprise you with treats again. What was wrong? Why couldn’t he do it again?
The scene replayed again in front of his eyes, flashing like film, taunting and tormenting at how useless, how inexperienced he really was in love.
“Another tour? Cheol, will you be alright?”
“I’ll manage. I always do!” He had announced, grinning brightly like he always did. He couldn’t wait to go and see his fans and see many many new things and bring you back all sorts of stories and rare gifts, just like travelling merchants did in fairy tales that you would sometimes read to him when he was feeling down.
“About that…,” you whispered, clutching your arm and leaning against the kitchen counter, “No. We s-should talk.”
“Is something wrong? Are you hurt? Is someone bothering you? Who is it? I’ll beat them up,” Seungcheol hurriedly asked, worry coursing through him as he leaned in to wrap his arms comfortingly around you, giving a light squeeze. Normally, you would have let out that familiar angelic giggle, smacked him playfully, and kissed his cheek, managing to extricate yourself while he stood there, flushed and shy from the peck.
But this time, you pushed him away a little, not meeting his eyes, hurt and a little taken aback.
“W-What are you doing? (Y/n), this isn’t like you,” he managed out, trying to keep calm. You bit your lower lip, inhaling deeply and opening your mouth to-
“Hyung! Hyuuuuung!”
He blinked the forming tears out of his eyes, wiping whatever he couldn’t dissipate, in hopes that whoever called him wouldn’t notice.
“Did you have breakfast? You’re here really early. Come on, eat” Soonyoung commented, holding out a McDonald’s muffin. Seungcheol shook his head, pushing it away. The other male tilted his head a little.
“What’s wrong? I thought your diet was over. Come on, breakfast is the most important meal of the day! We probably won’t eat for awhile too, since we’re gonna be flying,” he cluelessly rambled, shaking the bag that held all the baked goods.
“Not hungry. You’re here early yourself. It’s not like you to arrive so early,” the older male pointed out, running his weary fingers through his obsidian hair.
“I made a bet with Seungkwan and Seokmin to see who would get here first! Looks like I’m gonna be thirty dollars richer!” He proudly laughed, his hands at his flexible hips. Seungcheol nodded absentmindedly, adjusting his white t-shirt that was tugging at the belt on his black jeans.
“How much sleep did you get, hyung? You’re acting really out of it,” Soonyoung commented, frowning as he squatted down to reach his eyes level and peering into his downcast face.
“It’s nothing. I’m just a little stressed for the tour,” Seungcheol lied, forcing a ghost of a smile, “I think I see Seokmin over there.”
“Really?! I’ll be right back!” Soonyoung screeched, snapping up and racing away, leaving the older man alone to wallow in his misery.
“You’re an idol. You’re not going to be happy with some drab civilian like me,” you stated, “It would be better for you to meet someone who understands you better.”
“What are you saying? I’m perfectly content with you! Don’t say such things, (Y/n), and you know that,” he replied, cupping your face. You quivered, casting his hands aside.
“You’re out of the house a lot and what about your fans? What would they say if they knew?” You protested softly, holding yourself.
“If they were really my fans, they would support me. Don’t do this, we’ll be fine. You know I love you dearly,” he murmured, wanting to comfort you by touching you softly but he knew that you would only shove him away.
“We won’t ever be the ideal family we’ve wanted, Cheol, and you know that. We’re too different, too distanced, and too…,” you cut off, “Too… inexperienced.”
“Is that what you’re worried about? Oh, we have all the time in the world to learn with each other. We have so many opportunities to grow,” he said, smiling as warmly as he could, trying to deny the inevitable, “Lemme have a kiss, (Y/n). I love you.”
“I-I do too. And that’s why I want to break up. We’re not meant for each other. It’s not going to work out. Let’s end it here, while we’re both on good terms. Don’t worry and don’t be sad. You’ll find someone soon, who’ll cherish you the way I did.”
“Hey, Hyung, did (Y/n) pack you any sandwiches like they normally do when we tour?” Vernon absentmindedly inquired, rolling his grey suitcase, decorated with stickers of all sorts up to Seungcheol.
He didn’t answer, the memories of preparing food together, the way he held your hands to make sure you wouldn’t cut yourself, the loving feeling of his chest against your back, the way you leaned over and whispered the sweet words with the voice he adored to the ends of this world leading to the other memories of the two of you happy. You two were happy! A happy couple that went to cafe dates, movie dates, had fights, after fight cuddles and kisses, deep philosophical thoughts and three in the morning, long distance calls when he was on tour, surprise gifts and so much that Seungcheol couldn’t stop himself and everything was so painful as the thoughts all resurfaced, surging forward like a raging, erupting volcano, bringing nothing good.
“Hyung! Hyung! Oh no no, why are you crying?!”
Seungcheol could just cling onto Vernon, burying himself into the male’s shirt, bawling and crying out because he could not comprehend all of this. He loved you, he truly did love you and now you were gone, leaving him to try and uselessly tend to his shattered heart and he was devastated at that prospect. How was he supposed to support and love another when his own adoration left him, taking half of his heart and simply abandoning him to continue functioning like nothing happened?
“(Y/n)!! I-I want to see (Y/n)!!” He sobbed, a complete sobbing mess on the chilling airport floor as the other members could only cluster around and try to soothe him to no avail as he wailed for his loss.
“I can’t do anything without them!! Why can’t they see that I love them more than anything?? I can’t live if they’re not here for me!!” He gushed, tears streaming nonstop down his sunken face, his words coming out like a waterfall, blubbering and calling earnestly for his love.
But you wouldn’t know how he would feel. He was supposed to be an idol on tour, greeting fans and performing.
He was breaking down without you. Without a steady foundation, how can a castle stand? Without his one and only, how could Seungcheol bear to stay strong? And the way Mingyu was patting his back mimicking the way you held him like a baby when he was ill. The way Jeonghan was smoothing his hair only tormented him of the way you rubbed your hands in his hair after a shower, commenting on how nice he smelled and how handsome he was. And the way Minghao was drying his tears frantically, with that worried expression… Everything, even the flowers planted in the pots off to the side screamed of your name.
How was he supposed to find someone better when you were the one for him? When you were the best he could ever find? When you were the one he wanted to spend eternity with, to love, to grow old and become spirits with, to do everything and anything possible with? How was he supposed to live?
“I can’t go on without them, what am I supposed to do?” He asked, sniffing loudly, sprawled out on the cold floor, “How can I go on? How can I pretend to be happy when everything hurts? My heart feels like it’s going to shatter into a million pieces and I doN’T THINK I CAN GO ON WITHOUT THEM!!”
“You can see them again,” someone murmured, trying to ease the rattled leader. Everyone else mumbled something similar, nodding their heads.
“When you see them again,” Junhui hesitantly started, “After a few months after the tour, maybe they’ll have changed their mind. Once they had time to think, maybe they’ll come back to you.”
He helplessly allowed the members to hastily wipe him up and drag him to the airplane. Seated, he glumly glanced out the window, the dull ache continuing to plague his broken heart.
Because if you truly loved him so much, how could you throw him aside like that?
“아는 길 맞는지 내게 또 묻지요...”
