I understand people giving Lucrecia the benefit of the doubt with regard to what she did to Vincent, just like I understand people not realizing how undeniably fucked up Gast was, but the important thing to keep in mind about these characters is that the majority of them are written as being in the throes of some pretty extreme cognitive dissonance.
It's not bad writing, it's that they're hypocrites. They reached a moral event horizon at some point, and they did what they felt they had to do when crossing it.
Gast abandoned a child because he wasn't what he wanted—even having raised Sephiroth up until that point and knowing that he was a pretty normal kid overall, as we can see from his behavior as a young teen in Ever Crisis, Gast still couldn't bear to continue to be responsible for a monster. He knew what Hojo was capable of, because he knew about what happened to Vincent, because it happened in his lab, and he left a literal child in his care anyway. Sephiroth's only crime was not being what Gast thought he was, and Gast damned him to a lifetime of torture under a "father" whose only goal was to use him to prove his own genius. Why? Because Gast had a goal, and the goal was what mattered, the ends justified any means he could devise. He was a man obsessed, driven to the verge of madness in his lust for the Promised Land. A religious zealot with the most powerful scientific team in the world at his disposal, ready to prove him right—and then he wasn't right, and the whole world fell apart underneath him. Ifalna gave him back that stability, because she was a real Ancient, and she gave him a new, better child to care for. A child that wasn't a monster, a child that was his, a child that might one day lead him to the Promised Land, if her mother didn't do so first. When Aerith was born, Gast got to be right again, and therefore all was right with the world. Sephiroth (like Genesis before him) may as well have never existed at all.
Lucrecia openly experimented on a man who loved her enough to die for her, going so far as to apparently use data from those experiments to improve her own academic standing, because she couldn't bear the guilt of being responsible for his death. It wasn't about whether it was the right thing to do, it wasn't about whether she loved him back, it wasn't even about her thesis at that point—she just couldn't continue to live having lost everything as a result of her own impatience, her own lack of regard for everyone around her. She killed her mentor through her own impatience, she gave up her son for experimentation, she didn't stop her husband from experimenting on her ex-lover, and she had nothing to show for it but crippling Jenova toxicosis and an equally crippling cowl of regret.
I could even go into Hojo here, how what he did to Sephiroth was a result of struggling to escape Gast's shadow, how what he did to Vincent was a result of him struggling to prove that he deserved his wife, how everything he did was born from the all-consuming need to do just one thing for which no one else could take credit. Hojo got the director position not because he earned it, but because Gast ran away. Hojo got Lucrecia not because he wooed her, but because he didn't have eyes like the unrequited first love that she killed. Hell, Project S only happened because Project G failed! Nothing Hojo has ever had that was worth anything was because of his work, only because the work of others failed. Why do you think he talks about "failures" the way he does? The failure of others is the only reason he's gotten so far, and he knows that any failure of his own will knock him right off that pedestal—and he's terrified.
None of these people are good people. I don't know that any of them ever were. But in their eyes, everything they did was justified, they took the right course of action, because they took the only course of action that their personal understanding of reality would allow them to take.
Were any of them actually right? Probably not. Certainly not, in some cases. But there's no going back on it now. The arrow has left the bow of the goddess, and there's no calling it back.

This is my list of a potential candidates I would like to see in a Teen Titans team:
Crush, daughter of Lobo. Half alien half human, full chaotic.
Tefé Holland, daughter of Swamp Thing. Super powerful super teen angst.
Anita Fite/Empress (I just need her to return somewhere in DC)
Harper Row/Blue Bird. Much more original bat choice than adding the same Robin or Batgirl again.
Galaxy, an alien superhero. She's such a cool character I hope she'll get more explored.
Alysia Yeoh/Batgirl. (She was originally supposed to be Batgirl. DC I beg you to go back to that storyline and make it happen).
Connor Hawk/Green Arrow. I think he would make a great team leader.
Static Shock (no actual reason I just think it would be cool to see him).
The Aerie. I know the wiki considers them terrorist but they are just an extremist activist. Yes they kill people but they mostly fight currapt politicians and bad people. They are so cool and I think they would get along well in a team.
(and Bette Kane might be a nice touch to add as well, same reason as Anita).
Edit: forgot Xanthe, a nonbinary magician (sort of). I definitely want them on the team as well! They're so cool.
Unconventiona list? Yes. Am I completely delirious and daydreaming? Absolutely. But this are my top choices of characters I think would be interesting to see in a Teen Titans team.
DC please give them more comics I am dying here.

May I request Steve/Barb thoughts?
Okay so this is roughly done buuuut post s4 I think they get married. Like. They've been together at that point two and a half years, also their town is getting sucked into the Upside Down, and also Steve, being treated for demobat bites and a bit high on morphine and pain, tells her that he "doesn't want to go through this again without being [Barb's] husband" which isn't the first time he proposed or marriage was discussed, but it is the time that sticks. After all, what's there to loose when the world's cracked open and the alternate dimension you've been fighting for nearly three years is seeping in?
They wait until the end of the school year, or the diplomas to be granted to the senior class with school being cancelled, and then they get hitched at the courthouse. Mostly so they would be able to see each other in the hospital but also because they really did want to. they love each other.
Robin gets to be one of the witnesses with Barb's parents, and I can't decide if it's better if nobody else really knows or everybody does and everybody not close to them sort of thinks it's a shotgun wedding situation? It's not a surprise they're getting married, because, like, duh. They were obviously going to, but people sort of expected it to happen a little slower? But then again. Evil wizard man and monsters taking over Hawkins. Not a lot of time to spare thinking about them too hard. People are a little surprised when a year goes by and there isn't a little holland-harrington kid.
So they get married at 18 and 19, but save the party for when everything is over and done with and safe. And then it's sweet a lovely, even if technically they've been legally married for a year at that point. They celebrate with their friends, both that they saved their town, that they're still here, and that they're married. It's small and happy and freeing in a way that Neither Steve nor Barb have really felt since everything started; the fact it's over finally sinking in.
They both cry exchanging vows in front of friends and family, and they know they're young; so, so young, that most people would say getting married so early is maybe a bit of a mistake, but they've been together and fought monsters and soviets and the government together. They figure taxes and rent and the stress that comes from having a real adult life together can't be worse than the stress of making sure they don't die or the stress of the after, where they're not sure if they're actually safe or not but feel like they should be and wish they were.
anyways they're like. super married. superlative was definitley most likely to get married and they did not disappoint. The Gambler by fun. is a Starbie song to me hehe

How petty am I? HOW PETTY AM I?!
I'm so petty, I'm still mad at Spider-Man over a comic made in the 90s where he believes shit THE DAILY BUGLE said, blaming Morbius for an assumed vampire attack, despite the fact there are other canonical vampires, and instead of talking to Morbius (who's known to Not Always be In Control, and has been manipulated and mind-controlled before)
Spidey just decides to go "yeah, sounds about right, newspaper that lies and makes wild assumptions and accusations about me all the time!" And just... beats the shit out of Morbius.

Title: Adularia
Fandom: Forspoken
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Summary:
Perhaps this was why Auden had never been a passable cook. Too easily distracted by her curiosities, and Frey consumed her curiosity. And her fascination. The flex of her muscles as she worked the dough, the curve to her cheek as she smiled at some nebulous thought, the soft shimmer to her hair in the morning light. All of it the perfect harmony of distraction that made Auden lose her focus so, so easily in Frey's presence.
They're married, your honor :P

Have you read any books you would recommend recently? Also I was curious some of your favorite book couples (outside of acotar)
I think the only two series I've read lately that I deeply resonated with that had shipping potential were The Ballad Of Never After (it's Evajacks brainrot hours in my head 24/7) and Legendborn (I'm not gonna apologize for not wanting the throuple (you know who you are), I am Bree x Selwyn until I DIE).
I am always on the look out for more romantasy- most of it is just bad. And before someone comes in to talk to me about Fourth Wing, its on my agenda, okay? I am going to get to it- I am reading a monster romance + Nettle & Bone right now.
And them I'm going to read A Gathering Of Shadows, which is the sequel to A Darker Shade of Magic. I don't really ship anyone in that series but I do have so many feelings about Kell and Holland.
