what lies beneath/within had their ups and downs but I DID just get beamed that realization that if sheep was there, what it would see might be a new horror for its companions if they got a glimpse. just repeat after repeat of:
being marked, immobilized, and descended upon by a horde of enemies hunting it for sport
being trampled to death trying to pick up a bleeding-out friend before the horde catches up
being left for dead in what would have been an even fight because its allies ditched it as soon as the enemy group focused on it
following an allied army into battle only to watch them fall like a house of cards around it in the face of another enemy group
#out of context mist war vignettes#fillan with the tails-gets-trolled expression honestly#just. the peppy weirdo that doesn't take death seriously went through that? no wonder its optimism is absurd against the odds#soft sheep#wvw exists in a weird technically canon but also not space and sheep is right in the middle of it!#which honestly makes it being the wayfinder funnier to me. 'mists travel you'll get used to it' 'not my first rodeo soldier :) '#BUT sheep HAS to be the wayfinder I think. my opinions on SotO are undecided and perhaps uncharitable but it does-#-mean my tyrian commanders can retire for real. sheep goes to investigate the weird cult while Fillan's on vacay and gets sucked into this#and little weirdo that it is ppl probably don't think anything's outside of its brand of normalcy#ANYWAYS I gotta sleep but it's hard :(

So I’ve been enjoying the Disney vs. DeSantis memes as much as anyone, but like. I do feel like a lot of people who had normal childhoods are missing some context to all this.
I was raised in the Bible Belt in a fairly fundie environment. My parents were reasonably cool about some things, compared to the rest of my family, but they certainly had their issues. But they did let me watch Disney movies, which turned out to be a point of major contention between them and my other relatives.
See, I think some people think this weird fight between Disney and fundies is new. It is very not new. I know that Disney’s attempts at inclusion in their media have been the source of a lot of mockery, but what a lot of people don’t understand is that as far as actual company policy goes, Disney has actually been an industry leader for queer rights. They’ve had policies assuring equal healthcare and partner benefits for queer employees since the early 90s.
I’m not sure how many people reading this right now remember the early 90s, but that was very much not industry standard. It was a big deal when Disney announced that non-married queer partners would be getting the same benefits as the married heterosexual ones.
Like — it went further than just saying that any unmarried partners would be eligible for spousal benefits. It straight-up said that non-same-sex partners would still need to be married to receive spousal benefits, but because same-sex partners couldn’t do that, proof that they lived together as an established couple would be enough.
In other words, it put long-term same-sex partners on a higher level than opposite-sex partners who just weren’t married yet. It put them on the exact same level as heterosexual married partners.
They weren’t the first company ever to do this, but they were super early. And they were certainly the first mainstream “family-friendly” company to do it.
Conservatives lost their damn minds.
Protests, boycotts, sermons, the whole nine yards. I can’t tell you how many books about the evils of Disney my grandmother tried to get my parents to read when I was a kid.
When we later moved to Florida, I realized just how many queer people work at Disney — because historically speaking, it’s been a company that has guaranteed them safety, non-discrimination, and equal rights. That’s when I became aware of their unofficial “Gay Days” and how Christians would show up from all over the country to protest them every year. Apparently my grandmother had been upset about these days for years, but my parents had just kind of ignored her.
Out of curiosity, I ended up reading one of the books my grandmother kept leaving at our house. And friends — it’s amazing how similar that (terrible, poorly written) rhetoric was to what people are saying these days. Disney hires gay pedophiles who want to abuse your children. Disney is trying to normalize Satanism in our beautiful, Christian America.
Just tons of conspiracy theories in there that ranged from “a few bad things happened that weren’t actually Disney’s fault, but they did happen” to “Pocahontas is an evil movie, not because it distorts history and misrepresents indigenous life, but because it might teach children respect for nature. Which, as we all know, would cause them all to become Wiccans who believe in climate change.”
Like — please, take it from someone who knows. This weird fight between fundies and Disney is not new. This is not Disney’s first (gay) rodeo. These people have always believed that Disney is full of evil gays who are trying to groom and sexually abuse children.
The main difference now is that these beliefs are becoming mainstream. It’s not just conservative pastors who are talking about this. It’s not just church groups showing up to boycott Gay Day. Disney is starting to (reluctantly) say the quiet part out loud, and so are the Republicans. Disney is publicly supporting queer rights and announcing company-supported queer events and the Republican Party is publicly calling them pedophiles and enacting politically driven revenge.
This is important, because while this fight has always been important in the history of queer rights, it is now being magnified. The precedent that a fight like this could set is staggering. For better or for worse, we live in a corporation-driven country. I don’t like it any more than you do, and I’m not about to defend most of Disney’s business practices. But we do live in a nation where rights are largely tied to corporate approval, and the fact that we might be entering an age where even the most powerful corporations in the country are being banned from speaking out in favor of rights for marginalized people… that’s genuinely scary.
Like… I’ll just ask you this. Where do you think we’d be now, in 2023, if Disney had been prevented from promising its employees equal benefits in 1994? That was almost thirty years ago, and look how far things have come. When I looked up news articles for this post from that era, even then journalists, activists, and fundie church leaders were all talking about how a company of Disney’s prominence throwing their weight behind this movement could lead to the normalization of equal protections in this country.
The idea of it scared and thrilled people in equal parts even then. It still scares and thrills them now.
I keep seeing people say “I need them both to lose!” and I get it, I do. Disney has for sure done a lot of shit over the years. But I am begging you as a queer exvangelical to understand that no. You need Disney to win. You need Disney to wipe the fucking floor with these people.
Right now, this isn’t just a fight between a giant corporation and Ron DeSantis. This is a fight about the right of corporations to support marginalized groups. It’s a fight that ensures that companies like Disney still can offer benefits that a discriminatory government does not provide. It ensures that businesses much smaller than Disney can support activism.
Hell, it ensures that you can support activism.
The fight between weird Christian conspiracy theorists and Disney is not new, because the fight to prevent any tiny victory for marginalized groups is not new. The fight against the normalization of othered groups is not new.
That’s what they’re most afraid of. That each incremental victory will start to make marginalized groups feel safer, that each incremental victory will start to turn the tide of public opinion, that each incremental victory will eventually lead to sweeping law reform.
They’re afraid that they won’t be able to legally discriminate against us anymore.
So guys! Please. This fight, while hilarious, is also so fucking important. I am begging you to understand how old this fight is. These people always play the long game. They did it with Roe and they’re doing it with Disney.
We have! To keep! Pushing back!

Pool fun Jeju day 2 (Episode 5)
Or
What JM gets up to when he has a proper wall to hide behind
or
JK is JM's toy - he told us so himself
or
Do we play the "find the couple" game again?
With those three alternative headers do I really need to write a post? 🤣🤣
Probably not. But where's the fun in that?
I guess we need to cut this into 3 parts. In the pool, out of the pool and back in the house. Or, during, after and after after, or, and this is the one I love the most, naughty JM, payback JK and double payback JM.
In the pool
There aren't enough WTFs in the world to throw at whatever was going on with those two in that pool. And yes, I am very much aware of the fact that there were actually 3 people in that pool. Not sure JM and JK were though, lol.
What strikes me funny is that we got to see way more sus Jikookery when Tae was around than when he wasn't. Maybe it was because having Tae there as a buffer made it easier to play the deniability card, maybe it was because they allowed themselves to be like that, again, because of that buffer called "the guest", lol. And maybe, just maybe, any "too friendly" activity on the first night found it's way onto the editing floor, figuratively, because, once again, it was way harder to explain it away.
Basically, with "the guest" involved in the games it's easier for all parties involved to push the boundaries without it being too much for the audiences 'allergic to queer' sensitive stomachs.
Whatever whichever, JM was in a mood. Clearly feeling MUCH better than he did the day before and out to get HIS!
Oh JM darling, your naughty naughty side is showing.
Same side a glass wall prevented us from seeing just the night before.
He was all in. Deep.
What was he up to there?
Why? Why the cut????
The amount of cuts going on. Dudes, enough with denying us!!
and this one.
Funny how there is no need to cut out the parts JK is going for Tae, lol.
And this cut here.
Once again JM getting handsy there. And if there was any kind of 'retaliation' the editors decided it was not meant for our eyes, lol.
It's bad enough those two (as in JM and JK) made sure to do his naughty behind a wall. Do they have to cut all the fun out? Well, not all the fun, but the juicy parts of it?
And then, after all those cuts this is what they decide to leave in?
Wtf was this all about?
On second thought, perhaps it's better you don't tell me, lol.
But before I do move on, do I mention that the way JK went for JM's hair like that and the way JM had no problem with it feels like this isn't their first rodeo?
Do I mention that?
🤔
Oh, and btw did JM and JK exchange their swimming trunks here? Either they did or they each got 2 pairs to start with (I'm going with option 1).
There was much more fun going on in that pool, much of which we didn't get to see. A lot of it just the two of them with their shenanigans and Tae being a spectator and some with Tae playing the games with them as well. Tae leaves the pool with the two still in it, we don't know if they stayed and for how long as that's when the editors decide we've seen enough pool play for one episode, lol.
Out of the pool
This is the JK payback part of things, lol.
See, JM needs to be punished for being such a tease.
JK locking JM out. making sure he locks every single door.
The playfulness.
The cheekiness.
For instance, what was this?
Was JM saying something? Mouthing something? Or was that him trying to flirt his way in?
And that wink.
And let's talk about this:
The 5412.
I really wasn't going to talk about it, but seeing that I've had a couple of asks about it, I'll sum it up in a couple of words.
I'll start by saying that I don't speak Korean, nor do I have knowledge of Korean slang. And as such all I can do is rely on others translations.
There are a couple of versions as to what it meant.
JM clearly signed 5412. There is no confusion there.
The question is what does it mean, or what did JM mean by it in the context of the situation?
Of course I've seen the "I love you" explanation. But other than the original account posting this explanation, not only have I not seen corroboration to it, but mostly other accounts either outright contradict it or just give another possible explanation.
Like this one:
And this is basically the same:
I can only assume that if indeed JM was saying "I love you" that the K-JKKs would be going wild (in their own cryptic way of course), which they aren't. Well, not about the 5412 thing in any case. So, I will be playing it safe here and going with it either being a way to signal JK to open the door or some other message that is for them to know and us to not.
But those two and their sus behaviour were enough to drive us wild anyway.
Back in the house
Towel battle.
And yes, JK supposedly started this.
But did he?
And I ask that because of this here:
Did you see it?
That was the full scene.
So I will tell you the 2 things I see here.
This is the 1st:
Look carefully.
JM is hitting JK's back.
When you watch the original with the sound you can literally hear the smack on JK's skin.
OMG < the abused becomes the abuser>
Bull bloody crap.
This is them being their own playful self, JM's response to being locked out by his naughty bf.
So yeah, maybe JK was the first to throw in the towel, or more so to throw the towel at JM, but he definitely was not the first to smack. And low and behold, he doesn't flinch from that smack.
And then there is this too:
JM looking JK over with intent, hands lifting towards JK and.... cut!!
Again they deprive us.
Going from JK drying himself to JK's towel suddenly all rolled up and ready to strike.
And then the 'battle' begins.
It amazes me time and time again how those two manage to find joy in just about anything, even supposedly mundane moments. Calm joy, just sitting there with each other. Chaotic joy, with their playfulness and outright chaos and mischief.
JM the trickster, lol.
And what do we make of JM commanding "STAY" to JK ?
I think I'll leave you with that. Food for thought.
I will just say one thing before I go:
People need to stop looking at them like cardboard cutouts. These are two complex human beings. Fully grown adults. Young adults, but still adults. And they are both of strong character. They know what they want and who they want. And they know how to express themselves and stand up for what they want. Even more so with each other. Those two know each other through and through. Anyone that thinks they have the right to insert themselves into those two's relationship and call out one of them for their behavior with the other need to just go...
Away...
Maybe get a life...
Maybe touch some grass...
Maybe just piss off.
Whichever it is, they need to leave these two alone. Because they can scream blue murder as much as they want, at the end of the day these two will choose each other over anything and anyone.
And let me say that once more with feeling:
They CHOSE and will keep on CHOOSING each other.

Handsome Cowboy | B.F. + R.A.
Summary: An innocent trip for bread turns into meeting your boyfriend's doppelganger you can't get over.
Word Count: 470
Warnings + Notes: 18+ only mdni, gn!reader, smut mentions. This is the ending for a much longer fic that I ended up not loving, but a lil jealous Bob is such a treat I still wanted to share. It's like a baby fic with zero context 🤷♀️
The market feels like it’s all a dream as you make your way back to the parking lot. So similar, but so different. It’s not until you’re steps from the door that Bob points out you forgot the bread. He makes a mad dash back for it, politely waiting in line to pay behind some teenagers before joining you again. Your sweet boyfriend who packs you into the truck with a kiss to the temple before setting off to his parent’s house, bread on the console.
The entire drive home you can’t shut up about the handsome cowboy buying beer.
It blows your mind how similar Rhett looks to your Bobby. Still reeling at how their eyes are the exact matching shade of sapphire - Bob’s more mellow compared to Rhett’s storming gaze. The same broad shoulders, but a different swagger in their steps. Just as handsome as you, babe, you muse with a wink from the passenger seat. You amusedly make a joke about the sex appeal of cowboy hats and the tips of Bob’s ears turn vermilion.
However many miles later (long enough to talk about Rhett’s big silver buckle the entire length of a song on the radio) you’re finally back at Bob’s parent’s farm and sneaking through the back door like teenagers to not wake them. He places the bread in the cute little white bread box before tiptoeing upstairs with you. While sharing the guest bathroom to get ready for bed, you slide your hands around his waist from behind and peck Bob’s freckled shoulder.
“Have you ever considered growing stubble?”
In the mirror, Bob gives you a look - as if the military would allow that - and goes back to brushing his teeth. He’s never seen you this worked up about someone who isn’t him and the jealousy is consuming. You’re fully riding this cowboy train. All starry-eyed and dreamy smiles while you finish washing your face and excuse yourself to the guest room. Feet swinging over the edge of the bed as you compare and contrast your sweet, clean cut WSO and the rough-around-the-edges bull rider you happened across. Part of the appeal is the cowboy’s ranch drawl, an accent that only comes out of your boyfriend on special occasions, like when he’s between your legs.
Your attention is diverted by a figure at the open door. Bob looks at you from his spot, face contemplative and serious behind his glasses, hip popped against the doorjamb in his checkered pajama bottoms. He isn’t sure this is going to work but he’s desperate. You smile at him, curious.
“One summer in high school I went to a rodeo and bought some boots and a Stetson. They’re in the garage. If I put them on and make you cum, will you please stop talking about the handsome cowboy?”

Sweet Escape - Pt.5 // LH44
Lewis Hamilton x Y/N
Warnings: Swearing, Derogatory Language, 18+ (mentions of sexual acts and dirty talk), Physical Violence, Jealousy, Toxicity, Alcohol Consumption, Angst, Mentions of Forced Sexual Contact (only alluded to, not done, no S/A), Not Edited
Word Count: 5.7k+
Summary: Paradise is supposed to be fun and relaxing... a Sweet Escape, but when unspoken feelings and jealousy rise to the surface, everything can be turned upside down in the blink of an eye.
Notes: My sincerest apologies for the wait and thank you all for your patience. If you thought we had drama before hand, welcome to the rodeo, it's only gotten worse. Get ready to hate Lewis a bit, but it's well deserved. I will try to get the next part up this week, hopefully before race weekend really kicks off!
I am not a professional writer and all of this is a work of fiction and is strictly for fun. Enjoy! xxx
Previous Sections: Prologue - Part One - Part Two - Part Three - Part Four
“Can we talk?”
Those words have been rattling around in your head for almost a day now, ready to burst out of you at a moment's notice but never surfacing. Lewis hasn’t approached you and you almost didn’t expect him to, he’s been acting relatively normal for the last day. It’s been more than twenty four hours since everyone went on the hike and he’s been acting as if everything is completely fine. You gave him an olive branch and he grew a tree. You didn’t even really mean to give him the room that you had, it just felt so natural, so carefree. You could tell Charlotte has been concerned, keeping an eye on you at all times, even if from a distance. Her energy is the only thing in the house that truly seems off. You and Lewis may not be interacting exactly how you normally would, but there’s no hostility, no particular avoidance of each other. There’s almost part of you that wants to throw everything out the window and just let yourselves exist in this space, whatever it may be. The other part of you was worried that this was a survival tactic on both of your parts, just trying to get through vacation and in the end it would all come crashing down around you. You couldn’t let that happen.
You were lounging out by the pool, book in hand and a margarita nearby. The sun was warming your skin perfectly and you felt completely at peace, putting everything to the side as you engrossed yourself in the crime novel in front of you.
“You’re getting rather toasty.” You heard his voice come from next to you.
You looked up to find Lewis standing just above you, an accusatory raised brow, knowing you hadn’t applied sunblock in the last few hours. You noticed the spray can in his hand and huffed, you knew that if he’s finally acting normal with you, he would insist on you seeking shade or putting on more sunscreen.
“Fine.” You deadpanned, reaching out for the bottle as you stood up, stepping away from him in hopes of not suffocating him with sunscreen.
You could feel his eyes on you the entire time, not in the way they usually would be though. This stare wasn’t to unabashedly check you out, his eyes weren’t undressing you the way they may have in the past. This stare was gauging you, he was trying to look through your skull and into your brain, desperately attempting to read every thought you had on him in that moment. You knew he wouldn’t be able to read you that easily, not when you didn’t even know what your own thoughts were.
You finished applying your sunscreen turning back toward him, he quickly glanced away from you before finally making eye contact, trying to hide his previous gaze. It was no use, you already knew.
“All good?” He asked you as you handed him the bottle, once again his question was not in the context of the moment. He was asking a million different things with only two words. You didn’t know how to respond, simply settling for a small “Thanks” before returning to your seat and picking your book up once more.
Before you fell back into your story, you noticed Charlotte send Lewis a look of warning from where she sat across the patio. You assumed she had spoken to him, he was evidently aware that she knew of the situation. Miles seemed to be picking up on the unspoken energy as well, frequently checking on you out of the corner of his eye when he thought you weren’t looking.
As the sun began to set it was decided that the evening would be spent out. Charlotte wanted to dance and it took little convincing of the others. You quickly found yourself dressed in an outfit Charlotte had insisted you wear, an earthy toned dress with a cutout just above your belly button and a twist of fabric in between your breasts. You felt good, it hugged every curve perfectly and was just short enough that it showed off your thighs but still long enough you weren't concerned about flashing anyone. Once you were ready it didn't take long before you were being ushered into a waiting sprinter van. The drive would be incredibly short but none of you trusted yourselves to walk home later in the night, a chauffeur being a much better option. You were admittedly a bit anxious about the evening, knowing what nights out like this could quickly turn into. After a night of drinking and partying, it was rare that Lewis went home alone, but it was even rarer that he was able to keep his hands and attention off of you throughout the night, even when entertaining other company.
Many nights had been spent in dark, sweaty night clubs, everyone dancing, drinking, and laughing. People would usually end up invading your group, always drawn toward Lewis. He rarely turned down the attention, his ego thriving on it. Despite the women that would usually surround him, he always found a way to get to you. Pulling you to the dance floor when a song he knew you liked came on, bringing you drinks when he noticed yours was getting low, pulling you to the side to check if you were okay with attention you had drawn from another man. He always made sure you were okay and having fun, even if he was chatting up a random woman or women in an attempt to not spend his night alone. You had always noted his playboy activities, not really caring but finding them rather amusing. The women he was with never seemed to notice or truly didn’t care, as long as they got their one night with the godlike man. Many times you found yourself dancing with him, possibly closer than you should but he was never disrespectful about it, his hands would always roam but never to a point that you felt like he was truly trying something. You had never really thought anything of it seeing as you would frequently dance with Miles or Daniel too, they were always more reserved but you always chalked it up to personalities. Everyone danced with everyone, it’s how it always worked and it was always fun. Now you found yourself wondering just how your night would play out, how different things would be. He had been acting so comfortably around you recently that you worried he would be the same as always, but at the same time you kind of hoped it would stay the same.
The bar was partially indoors and partially outdoors, a large dance floor spanning from the patio into the open wall leading inside. It was positioned perfectly on the beach, giving a nice view of the moon's reflection off the ocean water. The music was notably louder indoors than it was out and you found yourselves claiming a table on the patio. Lewis and Miles had beelined to the bar, fighting over who was starting the tab as they ordered a round of tequila shots. Lewis seemingly won the argument, making his way to the table with a smug look on his face while Miles followed behind, certainly less amused. You couldn’t help but chuckle at the two men, grown adults who still seemed like teenagers half the time. Miles plopped down next to you, his arm draping over the back of your chair as he leaned back. You hadn’t noticed it at first but he slid a drink in front of you, matching his own.
“You seem like you could use a head start.” He said as he leaned down closer to your ear, making it so only you could hear him.
He pulled back with a large smile, bringing his own drink into the air, leaning it towards yours for a ‘cheers’.
“Here’s to having a fucking blast.” He said to you, everyone else distracted in their own conversation.
You smiled, grateful for his energy as you met his glass with your own before taking a much welcome sip of what turned out to be a Mojito. The shots arrived shortly after, everyone eagerly grabbing them. As everyone met their glasses in the middle of the table Miles once again repeated his toast, much louder this time, being met with hoots and hollers from your friends before downing their shots. You knew it was silly, but in that moment you wanted to freeze time. This was what you had wanted this vacation to be, carefree fun with people you loved. In no time at all Charlotte had pulled you and Miles out onto the floor, jumping and dancing in an uncoordinated way that made the both of you laugh but eventually join her in her antics. You had noticed that Lewis had disappeared indoors, you assumed in search of another drink, but you did your best to ignore it, hoping to just have fun.
You weren’t sure how much time had passed but you didn’t care, your face hurt from smiling so much and your stomach was tight from laughter. You felt light, a few more drinks in your system loosening you up quite a bit. You had left your friends at the dancefloor, heading to find a bathroom with Steph. The two of you were in a fit of giggles, apologizing as you bumped into other tipsy patrons. Your stomach flipped when you saw him, he had been gone for most of the evening. Lewis was leaning up against the bar, a warm smile and kind eyes directed at the bar tender. You could see the alcohol he had consumed across his face, his eyes lazier than normal but still as charming as ever. The woman he was talking to was absolutely beautiful, an equally warm smile on her own face. They looked familiar with each other, you watched as she reached out to squeeze his hand as she laughed, his face lighting up as well. Your mind wandered back to the night he had disappeared after the blow up with Talia. He had told you that he had gone to a bar nearby, went home with one of the hostesses. You still don’t know what truly happened that night, having heard him tell Charlotte a much different story, one that confused you even more. Was he really already finding someone to sleep with?
“Bitch, you comin’?” Stephs voice pulled you out of your trance, a drunken smile on her face as she waited for you.
“I need some air.” You said quickly, turning around and rushing back out to the patio.
You weren’t looking where you were going, just needing to get out of the room as soon as possible. You only stopped when you crashed into a broad frame, a cold drink running down your chest.
“Fuck.” You yelped. The ice felt like it could sizzle against your hot skin.
“Shit, I’m sorry,” A man's voice rushed out, “you okay? Here let me get some napkins.”
“It’s my fault, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” You almost laughed, still looking down to assess the damage to your dress.
When you finally did look up at the man who was now offering you stacks of napkins, you were stunned. He was painfully handsome, tan skin, big brown eyes, and a beautiful smile. You immediately noticed the similarities to Lewis and you wanted to slap yourself for even making the comparison.
“Not that it makes it any better, but it was just Vodka Soda so at least it won’t stain.” He laughed kindly, still handing you napkins, so many more than you needed.
“It’s fine, it cooled me off.” You joke, enjoying the distraction from the beautiful stranger.
“How about I get you a drink to make it up to you?” He offered, still standing rather close to you.
“You know what, I’ll take you up on that.” You laughed again, amused at the turn of events.
Before he could even step away you felt the presence of someone next to you, then a large hand on your back. You turned to see Miles, his eyes assessing you before turning to your new friend.
“We having a good time over here?” Miles asked, his eyes shifting back to you to gauge your response.
“Yeah,” You nodded with a smile, “Miles, this is, um.” You stuttered as you realized you didn’t even know his name yet.
The man laughed, “Jaden.” He stuck his hand out toward Miles, offering a handshake.
“Nice to meet you man, I’m Miles, Y/N’s bodyguard.” He said teasingly as he returned the handshake. You knew he was only half joking and you could tell Jaden was aware as well.
“Good to see she’s got people looking out for her.” Jaden acknowledged, a kind smile on his face.
“Why don’t you guys come join us, we’re just outside.” Miles nodded his head back towards your table where you could see Charlotte and Steph watching the situation.
Charlotte wiggled her eyebrows at you over Miles’ shoulder, mouthing a ‘wow’ as she looked Jaden over. You couldn’t help but giggle, returning your attention to the men in front of you. You knew Miles’ offer was his way of letting you have fun and keeping an eye on you, or moreso keeping an eye on Jaden.
“Sounds good to me, I was just gonna grab Y/N and I some drinks and then I’ll be right over.” Jaden said, nodding eagerly at the idea of spending more time with you.
“I was headed to the bar myself, why don’t I join you.” Miles said before directing his attention back to you, “You wanna go find Char back at the table and we’ll be right over?”
You nodded, smiling at him before telling Jaden you would see him in just a moment. You watched for a second as they got up to the bar, noting how Miles perched himself directly next to Jaden, keeping an eye on your drink like a poppa bear. You smiled to yourself, amused but grateful for how protective he could be. Instead of immediately heading to the table you passed it, stepping out onto the sand and slightly out toward the ocean. The music was quieter and you could hear the ocean better. You let the cool ocean breeze wash over you, grateful for the moment of brief peace. It wasn’t allowed to last long as you heard the familiar accent from behind you, slightly lazy with his words from the alcohol.
“I usually keep your glass full, sorry, I’ve been slacking tonight.” Lewis said, coming to stand beside you with a glass extended in your direction.
When you turned to look at him he had a lazy smirk on his face, once again gesturing the glass toward you to take. You knew it would be a gin and tonic, your favorite.
“It’s been more of a tequila and rum kind of night.” You say, unsure how to reject his offer.
“Really?” Is all he says, an amused tint to his voice.
You're not sure not to navigate this situation with him, unclear if it's the alcohol that is making him act so calm or if it's that he truly thinks everything is back to normal. You don’t have to sit in silence for long as Jaden comes up next to you, just as Lewis is opening his mouth to speak.
“There you are, Miles has your drink back at the table.” Jaden says, coming in rather close to you and placing his hand on your lower back. You feel as if it's a way of making sure Lewis knows that he is your company for the rest of the night, marking territory that isn’t rightfully his. You should, but you don’t brush him off, enjoying the way that Lewis tenses when he sees the action.
“You are?” Lewis asks, a noticeable gruffness to his tone.
“Jaden, Y/N's new friend.” Jaden's smile is cocky, like he can tell Lewis is displeased.
“Well, it sounds like you’re good on drinks then.” Lewis says to you, ignoring Jaden after giving him a once over. His voice is clipped and almost condescending, if you were a worse person you would slap him, but instead you just roll your eyes as he turns on his heel and walks away without another word.
“Who was that?” Jaden asks you once Lewis is out of earshot.
You’re rather amused that he doesn’t know, it’s a rarity that Lewis is unknown but you can’t help but enjoy it.
“Don’t worry about it, he’s just an ass.” You say brushing the subject off as you grab his hand and head back toward the table.
When you arrive Lewis is once again nowhere to be seen and you see Miles with two drinks in front of him, the full glass directly in front of his chest, kept close to him.
“For me?” You point at the glass with a giggle.
“For you.” He says with a laugh and a wink, extending the glass to you.
“Come on, let’s go dance.” Jaden says in your ear, gently pulling you toward the dance floor.
“Go have fun.” Charlotte tells you enthusiastically, wiggling her eyebrows at you again. You can’t help but laugh, allowing yourself to be pulled out to the floor.
You let yourself get loose, dancing up against him as his hand without his drink wanders across your stomach, pulling you close to him. You can feel a growing bulge against your ass as you dance with him, allowing him to nibble on your neck as you lean your head against his shoulder. The dance floor begins to crowd, everyone dancing with each other as their drinks kick in. You’ve moved further away from your table now but you can’t bring yourself to care. You catch a glimpse of Lewis out of the corner of your eye, he’s taking another tequila shot, licking the salt off of a blonde woman's neck. You roll your eyes, used to his antics, trying not to let it bother you. You have no right to be bothered, you’re acting just like him. You turn around to face Jaden, resting your arms over his shoulder as you lean in closer, your hips still moving with his. He leans down, placing another kiss to your neck before coming up in front of you, moving in toward your lips. You let him kiss you, there’s no fire, you don’t melt into it, but it feels nice. In the back of your head there’s an annoyance, angered that you're comparing his kiss to Lewis. You break from the kiss, turning back around to continue grinding on him. You hear him groan into your ear and it does nothing to you, you are a little turned on but nothing like Lewis had you in half the time. As the thought crosses your mind you open your eyes and immediately connect with his. Lewis is across the dance floor, a blonde woman dancing on him in a very similar way, but his full attention is on you. His eyes are filled with lust and you want to tell yourself it’s all from the woman grinding on him but you can’t help but feel that’s not entirely true. You don’t know how long he’s been watching you but you know it’s been a while. As you study his face, you see it, anger. You look away from him, turning your attention back to Jaden who is getting more explorative with his hands. This isn’t like you, letting a stranger feel you up in the middle of a club, but you can’t help but feel like you deserve the fun, deserve the thrill. It is vacation after all.
“Fuck babygirl.” Jaden whispers in your ear, his hand squeezing your hip.
He pulls away slightly, downing his drink as you do the same.
“I’ll get another round,” He says over the music, “you stay right here.”
You just nod, carrying on with your dancing. It’s not long before you know Lewis is there. When you turn around, he’s much closer than you expected, his chest almost touching yours. As if he’s allowed to, he grabs your hips, pulling you into him.
“What the hell has gotten into you, hmm?” He asks, his lips coming down to your ear.
He’s guiding you to dance with him, your singular attempt to push him away futile. His body up against yours feels better than it should and you let your alcohol foggy brain enjoy it for a moment. He feels better up against you than Jaden had and you hate it.
“Letting some random man dance with you like that?” He continues, his voice taunting, “Why would you go do something like that when I’m right here?”
He turns you around, pulling you even closer to him so your ass is right against his crotch. You feel it again, that same bulge that you felt the other day in his bedroom, the same one that had you weak in the knees with desire. You do your best to push past it, not wanting to let him win as you realize you already are.
“Because you’re you Lewis.” You sigh out, your voice betraying you as he leans down to nibble on your neck, much the same way Jaden just had. Unfortunately you can’t help but note that the way Lewis does it feels so much better. You try to put some space between you two but his grip is firm.
“What's that supposed to mean? You seemed to be enjoying it when I had you whimpering on my fingers, just think about what my cock would feel like. I would take such good care of you Y/N. I’d make you feel so, so good. Have that pretty pussy creaming all over me, over and over again. And fuck, I just know you taste like heaven, want you soaking my beard, letting me drink you up. You want that?” His rambling into your neck is breathy, working himself up as he talks. You know he’s drunk, can hear it in his voice. You want to push him away but you’re just as drunk and his promises sound like heaven on earth. What you don’t know is the mean game that he’s playing, he knows Jaden can see you, your head on Lewis’ shoulder as he palms at your tit. He’s making sure that Jaden knows you’re his whether you are or not. His ego and his jealousy a raging fire. He licks at your neck reminding you of the women he was with just a moment ago.
“Mmmm, the blonde didn’t work out for you I see.” You taunt him, making sure he’s thoroughly aware you saw him. You know he knows but you feel the need to rub it in.
“I could take her into the bathroom right now if I wanted to and we both know that, but right now I want you.” He groans the end of his sentence into your neck as he pulls you in hard against him.
You fight against everything within you that wants to let him take you home and make good on his promises. You know deep down it's a horrible idea and even what you’ve allowed him to do so far has only worsened the situation, you know you'll regret it in the morning.
“That’s exactly the problem, it’s just right now.” You say as you finally push him away, putting distance between you as you turn around to face him. His eyes are dark and he’s breathing heavy, he looks so painfully turned on that you're half tempted to put him out of his misery, but he made sure you knew that you weren't the only one who could do so.
“No, not just right now, always.” He shakes his head, trying to step towards you again but you back up, your hand in front of you, “I always want you, always have.”
You’re unaware that Jaden had started to make his way back over to you, getting closer by the second, already pissed off by what he just saw.
“We’re not having this conversation when you’re this drunk Lewis.” Your head sobering up a bit at his words, confusion running through your body.
“Baby, please just hear me out.” He pleads with you.
“This isn’t the time or the place for whatever the hell this is. You don’t get to do this just because your horny and want a quick fuck. I’ve seen you with multiple women tonight so don’t come over here and attempt to ruin our friendship.” Your voice is harsh, trying to get your point across.
“Oh so it’s entirely my fault? You let me have you for thirty seconds and then decide that I’m the bad guy when you get just enough? You’re a fucking tease. You could have stopped me the other day, you could have stopped me right now, but instead you indulge, get just enough for a thrill and then tell me I’m an asshole.” His voice is equally as harsh, alcohol induced anger bubbling to the surface.
“Really? You think that’s what I’m doing? Indulging in my best friend taking advantage of me?” Your voice is getting louder now and you notice some heads turning towards you. You know that saying he’s taking advantage of you is harsh and definitely a bit of an exaggeration but it felt the best way to get your point across.
You see his face twinge at the comment before softening, you can see the remorse across his features.
“Is there a problem over here?” Jaden's voice comes from behind you.
You had almost entirely forgotten about him, too distracted by Lewis.
“How about you mind your business man.” Lewis says, looking past you towards the man.
“Well if it involves my girl I think it’s my business.” Jaden says, stepping up behind you.
Lewis’ scoff is loud as you almost laugh, “Your girl?” You both say in unison.
“Fuck off dude, I know you saw how she was dancing with me, your times up, move on.” Lewis continues and you wish you could muzzle him right now.
“Well from the sounds of things she wasn’t particularly enjoying it, and it sounds like that's not the first time.” Jaden says, stepping in front of you slightly.
“It’s not like that, it came out wrong.” You try your best to reason with Jaden, grabbing his arm in an attempt to stop him from moving any further.
“Sure as hell didn’t sound it.” Jaden's voice is stern as he stares Lewis down.
Jaden is a few inches taller than Lewis, not by much but it's just noticeable. Lewis however is much more built, broad shoulders and biceps the size of both of Jaden's combined. You can tell Lewis is posturing, returning Jadens stare with just as much intensity. It worries you, you know Lewis is already pissed off and very drunk. You’ve never seen him be physical, hell you’ve barely ever seen him truly angry, but you’ve heard stories from his past, you know he can fight and he will never allow himself to be backed into a corner.
“How about you let my friend and I deal with our own problems mate.” Lewis bites.
“From how she talks about you I don’t think you’re exactly her fucking friend.” Jaden says, taking yet another step forward, brushing off your grasp on his arm.
“Guys, this is stupid. Lewis let’s just go.” You say, attempting to step around Jaden to get Lewis out of the bar before this escalates any further.
Before you can do that though, Jaden grabs your arm firmly, keeping you in place, “You’re not going anywhere with this jackass.”
Lewis’ eyes snap down to where your being held, the grip way too tight, “Get your fucking hands off of her, now.”
You wriggle your arm in his grasp, Jaden still not letting up.
“I said, get your fucking hands off of her, NOW.” Lewis’ voice is much louder than before as he steps forward. You're starting to attract attention and you're praying that in everyone's drunken stupor they don’t recognize the racing driver about to start a bar fight.
“Get off of me.” You try again to wriggle free from his grasp, him finally letting you go. You approach Lewis putting your hand on his chest, trying to push him towards the exit.
“Are you okay?” His voice has softened significantly, you can still hear the anger though.
“I’m fine, let’s just go.” You try again to get him out of the door before more people start paying attention. He doesn’t listen, instead grabs your hand gently, bringing it up in front of him to see the red mark around your forearm, the fingerprints firmly marked.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Lewis roars over your shoulder at Jaden.
“Lewis, please,” You plead desperately, “it doesn’t matter, let's just go home.”
“He fucking hurt you and you’re saying it doesn’t matter?” His tone is incredulous as he looks at you baffled, clearly not letting up.
“Bro, what the fuck’s going on over here.” Miles' voice comes from behind you and you thank god for your savior in that moment.
“This fucking douchebag was forcing himself on Y/N.” Jaden spits out, clearly thinking Miles will be on his side, unaware of the relationship.
“I highly fucking doubt it.” Miles says, disgust in his voice as he makes his way over toward where you and Lewis stand.
“She said it her fucking self dude, great fucking body guard you are.” Jaden says sarcastically, referencing his comment when they were introduced.
“What’s going on Y/N?” Miles says softly, coming to where you're still pressed against Lewis, trying your best to either calm him or hold him back.
“Nothing, we just need to leave.” You say firmly.
Miles nods, trying to grab Lewis’ arm to pull him to the door, knowing he won’t back down on whatever has him so mad, “Come on man, it’s not worth it.”
“Let’s just go home.” You say calmly, rubbing his chest, hoping to ease him.
Lewis reluctantly lets Miles start to pull him away, keeping his arm around you to keep you as close as possible to him. You don’t fight him on it, it’s not the time.
“Jesus, you’re really going home with that fuck? I guess a slut gets what’s coming to her.” Jaden scoffs.
His comment makes you stop, every ounce of your being wanting to turn around and punch him in the face, but you don’t get the chance, Miles is already on the move. His fist makes direct contact with Jadens cheek, knocking him to the side and almost taking him off his feet. Much to your surprise, it’s Lewis who springs forward and pulls Miles back, grunting something into his ear as he restrains him, pulling him backwards.
“What the fuck!” Charlotte screams, just approaching the situation.
“Fuck you, you’re all fucking insane.” Jaden yells, gripping his jaw, no one in the crowd even moving to help him.
“Let’s get the fuck out of here.” Lewis grits out, pulling Miles back as he moves to grab for you as well.
Charlotte pays no mind, questioning Miles, “Miles, what the fuck was that, I’ve never seen you hit someone, what the fuck is going on?”
“Not now Charlotte.” Lewis says, somehow having become the calm one in the situation. Tears are streaming down your face as Lewis just about carries you out of the bar, Charlotte trailing along behind. You have no idea where everyone else is but right now you want to be as far away as possible.
The second your outside Lewis puts you down, cupping your face as you cry in front of him. He walks you away from the crowd outside the enterance before he pulls you hard into his chest, stroking your hair, letting you cry into his shirt.
“You're okay, it’s all okay.” He hushes you, trying to calm you down.
“No, it’s not all okay,” You suddenly scream at him as you push yourself off his chest, stepping away from him, your emotions from the last week have reached a peak, “neither of you, ever and I mean ever try to fucking fight someone for me again.”
You’re pointing hard at Lewis and Miles, who has since approached to check on you.
“Y/N-” Lewis tries to start.
“No, you don’t get to say the shit that you did or do the shit that you did and then try to fucking white knight all the sudden just because you’re jealous.” You scream at him.
“Baby, I just want to make sure you're okay.” Lewis pleads.
“Well I’m not,” You scream back, “none of this is okay. It hasn’t been since you tried to fuck me Lewis, I haven’t been okay. You have to have known that somewhere in the fucked up little brain of yours. And then you go and try to do it again? And even worse, blame me? Fuck you.”
Your words stop him dead in his tracks, you can see his mind reeling and guilt washing over his face.
“Honey-” Charlotte is slowly approaching you, trying to reason with you.
You don’t let her continue, “And both of you,” you direct your attention towards Miles who still seems to be in shock by your admission, “never fucking do that again, I’ll be damned if I see someone I love get hurt for me. I’ll let you know if I need help, don’t take it upon your fucking selves, I’m grown I can handle myself.”
Miles opens his mouth to speak but is evidently at a loss for words. Charlotte has stopped as well, unsure how to handle you in the moment.
“You know what, fuck this, I’m going home.” You say, tears still streaming down your cheeks as you throw your hands in the air, turning down towards the road to the house.
“Y/N please at least wait for the car, don’t walk home alone.” You hear Lewis call towards you, you can hear him following after you.
“Don’t” You whip around to yell at him, “do not follow me, please just fucking leave me alone.”
You turn back around, making your way down the road, no one follows you, leaving you in silence.
All you want to do is crumble into the ground and not get back up.

That 'I miss my wife, Tails' joke is so funny but imagine if they enter Yuu's dream?
Like the reason Yuu is so desperate to go back to their world is because they have a house, a job and a wife to come back to
Bonus depression points if Yuu and/or wife had to fight and sacrifice alot to be together (leaving this vague because it could be due to legal or social reasons that they had difficulty)
context
Yuu who went through a lot in their short life. Who moved out young, who has been forced to work for a living, knows their way around restorations just a bit too well for this to be their first rodeo. Yuu who flinches when Ruggie calls them privileged, looking at their reflection and wondering what about them looks like the people who hated them in their past life.
Yuu who dreams of her even without Malleus’s help. She's everything and everywhere, even across time and space does Yuu's heart sing her name.
She wakes up alone again wondering if they left because it wasn't worth it. Part of her wishes that was true. Then she wouldn't know what it was like to have lost you like this.

Is P safe now? What happened to her husband? How is he not in jail?
P is safe now. He has fucked off to sulk in a different region.
What happened is a typical domestic violence shitshow. Neighbour called the cops. Cops attended (which is a surprise in itself). When I talked to P, it was a week later, and so when she was called to the station to officially recount what happened, I went with her (because she was terrified but also because this is not my first rodeo)
Got told they really couldn’t do anything unless they actually physically saw him lay hands on or attack her. For context: there was also strangulation, which is an upgraded charge in AoNZ because of the seriousness of it. At this point, she still had significant bruising across her throat - you could literally see thumbprints where he had dug them into the area below her ear. (I encouraged her to see a doctor when we first caught up after I saw the marks and found out they’d declined to call an ambulance that night).
0 fucks given. They also did not care he had a gun license or guns. Then I dryly pointed out that the kind of man who would use a gun on his wife and child would also probably use one of them when they were called out.
Suddenly his license was revoked and his weapons confiscated within 24 hours. Funny how that works.
#having seen this multiple times: this is the fairly typical experience from this lot.#embarrassing. i am just glad they’re both safe and she wasn’t permanently injured.#katie rambles#ask 2 tag#tw abuse#tw domestic violence

@risingjay from this.
The drive back down from Canada was filled with questions, but most weren't from Mari this time. On the contrary, she was as cagey about Jack as she was with Viper or her parents.
It wasn't Mitch's first rodeo. Something lurked in the background of their story that he needed to know. Mari wouldn't be so reluctant to talk to him otherwise. Worse than that, the usual tactics he used with Mari weren't working. Distracting her with different topics to drop her guard yielded little. Offering her an extra gemstone - it wasn't a secret that she squirrelled a few away to keep for herself - didn't work, either.
Those were the most surefire way to get her to talk. That she resisted a bribe even after several minutes of thinking about it meant either Jack was that important to her or she was scared. Both, even.
What finally went somewhere was Mitch pointing out that if this Vincent wasn't just a threat to her in Canada. She ran into Jack back in the States, after all. If Mitch knew nothing about the situation, there was no way he could help solve it.
That got him the only significant details Mari shared: Vincent might be dead, and Mari might have been around when it happened. She mentioned something about leaving him on a sandbar in a snowstorm, which would be about the only way Mitch could see her killing somebody.
Dead bodies didn't bother her at all, but god forbid she pull the trigger. He never understood it.
This revelation changed the situation, though. He remembered Mari mentioning that she and Jack got off on the wrong foot, but was the relationship really all right now? If Mari helped kill his brother, Jack might be resentful. It was possible Jack helped her get Vincent in the water, assuming she was telling the truth at all. Mitch didn't think she could pull that off by herself like she claimed. He couldn't see Jack having the spine to kill anybody directly, either. Letting his brother freeze to death, though? Empathy would likely shut that one down.
A couple of beers were enough to get Mari to leave Mitch alone with Jack. She had been roped into a game of darts by a couple of men who didn't know who they were hitting on. It gave Mitch an opening to bother Jack about this brother thing, though. While Mari's dart bounced off the wall across the room, Mitch popped a question he hoped was shocking enough to get an answer.
What Jack gave him was more information than Mitch expected. Mari hadn't said anything about Vincent's personality outside of the context of herself. The ending of Jack's words is what bothered Mitch.
He resisted patting Jack's shoulders as he leaned on the table. "That makes sense." He watched a dart hit the board this time, smiling as Mari caught one of the men's hands with a forceful high five. "I would be pissed if someone tried to kill my brother."
#(shades of gray | mari)#risingjay#((lemme know if I need to change it))#((also Mitch: These two are mostly harmless.))

RANT TIME
Okay, unpopular opinion that no one asked for but I have nowhere else to vent it so you're stuck with it time. I HATE the animated trolls shows, The Beat Goes On and Trollstopia. With a burning passion. I will admit, TBGO wasn't as bad as Trollstopia imo, but it was still bad. Why, you may ask?
Allow me to explain.
First off, let's start with TBGO. Now, since this comes after the first movie and we don't have a lot of context beyond it, I let a lot slide. But the main transgression I have is that this show brought Creek back. CREEK. Of all the MISERABLE LOUSY PATHETIC COWARDS to resurrect, they picked CREEK. WHY. Why was this necessary???? He adds nothing to the story beyond an annoying presence that makes me want to hurl my device like Captain America's shield. AND THEN, they make Branch the bad guy for not trusting him immediately. OF COURSE HE DIDN'T TRUST CREEK, THE SLIMY POS SOLD EVERYONE OUT TO SAVE HIS OWN SKIN. DID EVERYONE FORGET THAT!?!?! And then this leads to Branch having to APOLOGIZE to Creek and then eventually to them sort of becoming friends. THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. Every episode he was in I could feel myself losing braincells.
If you thought that was alot, stick around for my rant on Trollstopia because holy shit, where do I begin?
Now, the idea behind Trollstopia is actually a good one. Like hey, everyone is so spread out, how about a group from every tribe comes to live in the middle which happens to be Pop Village? Genius! And I will admit, in the beginning it seemed promising! And then, they fucked it up.
How, you may ask?
Simple. My point can be simplified to 2 main subjects:
They put WAAAYYYY too much effort into Poppy's relationships with literally EVERYONE ELSE and nowhere near enough into her relationship with Branch, HER BOYFRIEND.
They absolutely, totally, 110,000% DESTROYED Branch's character.
I shall now explain my stance. First off, we have point #1. Now, don't get me wrong. Poppy should absolutely have relationships with other trolls! She's the queen, for hair's sake! And I really did enjoy the fact that she made new friends and got really close with them. As someone who has eternally struggled with making and maintaining friendships, I loved seeing her do what I usually cannot. HOWEVER, this is no excuse to neglect her relationship with her actual fucking BOYFRIEND. Trollstopia takes place after TWT, after Branch and Poppy confessed and entered a relationship (if you wanna argue with me, look at the official Trolls Wiki, it'll back me up). But if you watch the show, you can barely tell they LIKE each other, let alone that they're dating. The show ran for 7 seasons and, out of those seasons, can anyone tell me a single episode where they were the focus? I won't even ask about them as a couple, just them interacting together being the focus! Poppy and her friends repeatedly bulldozed over Branch, his feelings, and his boundaries, constantly mocked him, and shit on anything he wanted to do. I swear at times it was like watching Trolls 1 Branch and Poppy interact.
Finally, my second point: Branch's character. They absolutely fucking took all of Branch's hard earned character development from 2 movies and a holiday special and went:
Wanna know how I know? What does Branch actually DO in Trollstopia? About every 10th episode, he shows up to offer a crappy sarcastic remark that pales in comparison to his usual ones and does one of 3 things:
Gets hurt
Gets made fun of
Acts like a total moron, and not in a cute way.
He's basically turned into Jay from the later seasons of Ninjago (my apologies Jay, I love you but you know it's true). I mean, in one episode he got his ass absolutely HANDED to him when he tried the rodeo! COME ON. The dude who caught a stick fired at him without looking and jumped in front of a death bolt to save Poppy got served by a fucking bull thing? Bullshit (no pun intended). To add onto this, when he's not being trampled and beaten for no fucking reason, he's being used for the most CRINGEWORTHY comedic relief. I mean really, there was a whole episode about how he wanted to be called a "cool nickname" by Lownote. Really? We really think that's in character? And to top it off, he gets stuck with "Skippy Two-Shoes". WHAT. THE. FUCK??? I almost had an aneurysm when I heard that. And everyone was fine with it!!!! Which leads into my last point, NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT HIM DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE SAVED POPPY AND IS HER FUCKING BOYFRIEND. There was a whole fucking episode about him getting all pissed off at the Techno Trolls for taking over his lagoon in his bunker (which I have to say I'm jealous he has) to have "raves" at like 4am. WHO WOULDN'T BE PISSED OFF??? My upstairs neighbors bang around at all fucking hours of the day and it drives me insane so I get why Branch is mad! BUT WHY DOES NO ONE ELSE? Why is it when he complains he gets told that he's being "unfair" and has to "share"? Fuck that, he was there first! It's not like Trollstopia isn't huge, they can find somewhere else to infest at 4am!
In conclusion, I hate the animated shows because they destroy the relationship between Branch and Poppy and demolish all of Branch's character development, reducing him to the annoying sidekick that always gets cheered at when they get hurt or die tragically.
End of rant. Thank you for sticking with me, I needed to get that off my shoulders. Branch is my favorite character and it infuriates me that he gets the short end of the stick all the time. Enjoy this as a reward:

These are one of the few Slenderverse ive watched that no one really talks about or have zero content
Posting this mostly cause
1. I wanna see more content about them and more people talking about them
2. To feed the starved people like me for new Slenderverse content
(Series like MH, EMH, T12 etc will be tagged but only so more people can see this)
Hollowhemlocks
It follows our protagonist named Jesse, who started at first as a hiking tips channel. After the unexpected death of his friend, Adam, things take a spiral for the worst.
I fucking love this series so much and it's still ongoing so if you wanna feel the thrill of keeping up with a Slenderverse this it.
ICANSEETHEGIANT
To be honest I do find it kinda hard to explain but basically. The Teacher is a mysterious entity that runs the channel with the purpose of giving riddles to its students and teaching them Aesop's fables. As the series progresses though we get a more prominent protagonist named Mitchell.
That's all I'm sharing, go watch it. It's good and the Teacher is such a criminally underrated character. Also it is connected to Stan Frederick. Plan to rewatch it soon.
One Hundred Yard Stare
Young girl named Ellie and her friends start getting stalked by Slenderman, yet it seems like it's not her first rodeo. They are also stalked by a guy with a gas mask that does not have nice intentions.
One of the few Slenderverses with female protagonists, I absolutely loved the direction they went with it. The few twists there somehow caught me on rewatch since i watched it in 2020.
Afraidathome
A young man named Kyle starts hearing weird noises in his walls as he tries to figure out why this happens.
I loved this series as i recently finished it but it can get a bit confusing. I recommend checking the Tumblr and Twitter for better context but trust me it's sure to be a ride.
Stateofamadman
Guy named Cole starts hearing weird knocking at his door so he makes a channel to record whatever the fuck is going on when an unknown J.W. walks in.
Another ongoing one from what I know. I honestly don't have much else to say. I just like Cole as a character really.
There is more but i will probably make a part 2 once I'm done rewatching them or finishing them so yeah that's all for now lolz

i really need to , want to , write up tyler's bio when i have the attention span to do it . since i keep dropping hints about my ideas of it in my threads but none of y'all have any context or content about anything . general big points is he grew up in a pretty large nuclear family with his parents and 2 older sisters and one younger sibling , so he started drinking his daily respect women juice from a young age bc his sisters can totally still kick his ass even today . fascinated with the weather since he was eight , we all know that story , but didn't end up pursuing it at first . started rodeo in his teens , started competing and chased that career into his early 20s when he was in a really bad accident that involved getting trampled under a bull and it landed him in the hospital for weeks / a couple month's worth , and that have left him with a few chronic issues of their own . decided after he was all healed that he'd go to college and study meteorology instead since he was not about to compete again . took up a job in arkansas with the weather stations , went on a few rides with storm chasers and decided to follow that . broke away after about two years , during which he started picking up his stray crew of storm chasers . they need money through donations and fundraising just like most chasers do , so they turn to youtube . it eventually forms into what we see in the movie . the end . :)
#( ;; if you look real close you'll see scars on his scalp. )#( ;; the type that prevent his hair from growing there. )#( ;; i'm gonna need to write up a big post for that ... one day. )#( ;; i've written so many m.uses w broken families. )#( ;; it's time for him to invite the wranglers and his loved ones to meet his sibs and parents. )#( ;; who are ALSO the type to embarrass him. )#╰ ゜HEADCANON. * I KEEP CHASIN THAT SAME OLD DEVIL.

@akg40 first of all, thank you for letting me obsess over this 3.06 scene from so long ago, picking apart each piece second by second. This is like, what? My third post about it? Haha! It’s just such a heavy moment for them with so much to see.
I actually think Rio sees Beth very similarly to how she sees him – unstable and dangerous. She’s given him good reason to feel that way. She’s highly unpredictable and volatile, she doesn’t appear to live by a code of ethics that Rio prides himself on adhering to, and she often drives with emotion. (Yes, I understand the comedy of him not seeing any of those exact same dangerous qualities in himself. He thinks he’s different and in control. 😂) So given this knowledge he has of how Beth tends to operate, he isn’t able to just send Mick or someone else on this particular errand. He came because he knew this was the first death she’s seen (besides when she thought she killed him; what a mind-fuck this whole picnic table moment must be for Rio in that context), and he was anticipating her having some big feelings to work through. She’s too dangerous when left to manage her own feelings so he came to manage them with her.
Mick came out first – wishful thinking. I think Rio fully anticipated she wouldn’t have her batch printed, and he was right. He didn’t even hesitate to cut the engine and come out of the car. He was expecting to have to do so. He prepped Mick with clear instructions to not leave them alone. Probably because he didn’t trust her, but also maybe a little bit because he didn’t trust himself and how emotional he would get.
And he was right to worry because he got quite emotional even with Mick watching. Probably more than he intended to. Which leads me to believe that maybe Rio, much like Beth, doesn’t really have anyone to unload onto. He has to be the strong one because this isn’t his first rodeo and it’s expected that he finds killing people easy because he’s done it before. But Rio’s a pretty in-his-head guy and I don’t see him as a cold-blooded killer. Killing Eddy weighed on him. Killing Lucy weighed on him even more. He came expecting this to be a discussion about morality and murder, history and betrayal, not about print drops. And maybe he needed that talk as much as Beth did. Because he was quiet at first, letting her talk about her high morality and what a bad person he is, but then he really went for it, unloading a lot of what he likely carried alone. Even once he got what he needed and Beth agreed to print he still didn’t drop it. He turned to her, showed her his face with all its anger, spoke sarcastically and bitterly. He needed that release too.
His quiet emotional exhaustion here. It’s just so loud.
And she sees it! I think maybe this is what makes the scene for me. For ONCE we see open acknowledgement on Beth’s face that this man is human and she empathizes with his experience because she understands it.
And I think maybe this is what he really came for. In some secret corner of his mind he’s always hoping she’ll see him the way he sees her. I don’t think he realized here just how much their shared pain touched her. Maybe he even intentionally closed himself off to seeing her acknowledge his pain.
She wanted him so he could help her carry her heavy load. But they ended up sharing each other’s. I wonder if either of them slept that night.
#I’m STILL talking about it#3.06#Beth seeing Rio as human is my obsession#Rio needing to be chosen is my one true love#if you guys ask me a simple question I’ll write you an entire essay#be warned!#brio#beth x rio#good girls nbc#my angsty babies!

More than a toy (MAWS G/T AUs)
A/N: a little bit of context, it's a scene imagined in a mix of two MAWS g/t AUs: Borrower!Lois and Toy!Clark, where Clark is an action figure like toy (a bit like Buzz Lightyear) who never got sold and got brought to life thanks to a piece of meteorite inside of his chest.
I have yet to determine how Borrower!Lois, Toy!Clark and Human!Jimmy met up, but this scene take place at the very beginning of their adventures. I was thinking Clark could be a bit like Zeta/Zee, discovering about humanity and stuff (he knows the basics, but not the subtilities)
TW: use of deshumanizing(?) it/its, temporary character "death", injuries/damages, angst, chat/script format, English not my native language
NOTE: I'm aware I probably made the characters OOC here, hence the AU tag. If you don't like it, you may leave this post. You've been warned, read at your own risk.
========
Somewhere nearby a warehouse:
Clark: I don't think we should go, I have a bad feeling about this -
Lois: *scoffs, walking past him* you're just a toy, what would you know about feelings?
Clark: . . . *overshadowed face, glasses glaring*
Jimmy: Dude, harsh much?...
Lois: *it*'s just a puppet made of plastic who miraculously "powered up" thanks to a piece of meteorite or so *it* said -
*a growling hound suddenly stood before them*
Jimmy: huuuuuh, nice doggy?...
Dog: *growls even more before pouncing*
Lois: *close her eyes and braces herself*-
***CRUNCH***
Jimmy: *horrified gasp*
Lois: *opens her eyes*
*Clark had one of his arms caught in the beast's maw while he held it off with all his strength*
Clark: Leave my friends alone! *aims his laser eyes straight into the animal's ocular globe*
*The dog yowls and growls, shaking it's head but its maw solidly shut on Clark, who refuses to let go either*
Lois, shaking: 💭 Friends?... a-after all the things I said?... 💭
Jimmy: we have to help him!
Lois: *shakes out of her stupor* Throw me on its back!
Jimmy: Are you crazy?!
Lois: Not my first rodeo! Come on!
*insert intense fighting scene*
*The dog was finally gone, thanks for Jimmy scaring it off with his camera's flash*
Lois: C...Clark?...
Clark: *lies lifelessly, his arm in a bad state and the hatch on his chest open...and empty. He definitely looked a lot more like a toy in this state...*
Lois: Clark, come on... wake up...
Jimmy: Lois...
Lois: Why isn't he waking up!
Jimmy: 💭 she called him "he" ...💭 ... Lois, Clark must have lost his power source during the fight...
Lois: Power source?...
Jimmy: The piece of meteorite... he showed it to me the first time we met...
Lois: W-We have to find it!
*They looked around, before Lois spots a soft blinking blue light. She went to it, finding the meteorite there... who was ironically shaped like a heart.*
*what a very bad joke...*
Lois: I found it!
*she rushes to Clark and Jimmy, who was trying to fix his arm the best he could*
Lois: *shoves the heart inside of Clark's chest and slams down the hatch* C'mon, Clark...wake up... please...
Jimmy: Lois...
Lois: Shut up! He...He can't die!
Jimmy: You were the one who said he was just a toy...
Lois: And I regret it, okay?! I-I didn't mean to... He's...*sniffles* He's our friend... my friend...
*Suddenly, Clark's eyes lit up before his whole body started to glow and fixed itself.*
Lois: C-Clark?...
*The glow fades, as Clark's toy like look changed back to his more human looking one.*
Clark: urgh... what happened?...
Jimmy: Dude! You're alive!
Clark: What- oof!
Lois: *tackles him in a hug* YOU IDIOT!
Clark: L-Lois?...
Lois: N-Never scare us like that again...
Clark: I'm sorry?...
Lois: and here you are again apologizing for something that isn't your fault *bonks him*
Clark: O-Ow!
Lois, hugging him: *mumbles* I'm sorry, for what I said...
Clark: ... *hugs her back* It's fine, really...
*Lois's overshadowed face was a hint that she didn't quite believe it but she just smiled*
💭 Definitely more than a just a toy 💭

You have finished Kaamelot, right? 😗 So, what do you like more: BBC, Starz or Kaamelot?
Thank you for this ask, @the-king-and-the-druidess
I'm gonna put it this way. BBC Merlin (the show) fascinated and pissed me off so much that it opened me to all other Arthuriana and other modern adaptations because of my desire to understand just why everything went to sht in the series (⌒_⌒;)
Meanwhile I like how solid Camelot (Starz) and Kaamelott were in terms of honest characterization.
Kaamelott may be, at most, a gag/comedy show but the love/passion/genius of Alexander Astier (producer/showrunner and Kaamelott!Arteur) is so real it just shines, you know? The care that has been put in the comedy series.... it shows.. it really shows. Kaamelott is a product of sincerity and love. It is honest. It doesn't shy away from unsavory topics. Not one character claims to be the ultimate good. Not one character is the ultimate evil. All of them are idiots and all of them are smart. It's so human. It is disjointed, there's no real plot, it is funny, heartwarming... but when it hits you, it hits you. IT'S GREAT. That's what I can say. ٩(◕‿◕)۶
Camelot (Starz) is a masterpiece in itself. I like it so I really don't have a lot of complaints about it other than certain choices (esp surrounding igraine and leontes/lancelot). The storytelling was more solid. The characters and worldbuilding were more grounded and mature and closer to the legends. The dynamics were pretty much what you'd expect arthur-centric arthuriana should be on screen.
..........................
What i feel for BBC MERLIN isn't hate... it is more like.. disgusted awe. I do admit that they went to lengths (and audacity) that probably no other modern arthuriana has ventured before. The show left behind more What The Fuck questions, idealogies and propaganda rather than answers though. (And that is insidious especially when the show's cover was that it was "just a family-friendly show" and "geared towards children", YIKES).
BBC Merlin is not my first rodeo on a series where everyone-and-their-mother just wants to "fix it." In fact I am used to stuff that needs a lot of "fixit". However BBC Merlin just has this unprecedented level of fixit potential that I have never seen before. I don't know if that is awful or not. I don't know if it's shoddy writing or not. I am still on dying on the hill that the writers tried their best but the producers and bbc just had other ideas. idk.
Perhaps i am at fault though. I am more drawn to things where everyone is morally grey. In true early arthuriana fashion, BBC MERLIN IS NOT MORALLY GREY. There is an intense Black and White messaging that is so prevalent in the seres. It's so... Christian even when it never mentioned Christianity. There was a clear line drawn between who was the absolute good and absolute evil. Regardless of their actions, the characters were never classified as "doing bad when they are on the side of good" or "doing good when they are on the side of bad" because their roles have already been predetermined. They were just all just either "good" or "evil" and nothing else within the context of the show.
That's the irony of it all. BBC MERLIN being so unapologetic, absolutist and propaganda-like actually made it a lot more "Early Arthurian" in spirit compared to the "i know what i did was wrong but i gotta do it anyway" kind of morally gray storytelling that the other modern adaptations such as Starz Camelot and Kaamelott have.
And that's what sets BBC MERLIN apart from Kaamelott and Starz Camelot. It was so idealistic. It disgusts me. It brings me awe. I can't watch it anymore. But I want to study it. I wanna view it under microscope.
..............
If possible I'd rather have unlimited runs of Kaamelott and Starz Camelot. Five seasons of BBC Merlin was enough. We already got the message. Let the bbc merlin actors rest and pursue better roles without always being pressured to return to it.
#merlin critical#merlin meta#thots#lessons to be learned: DONT KILL ALL YOUR COOL CHARACTERS#sorry i kept revising this#i just had a dozen realizations because of this ask lol#thanks
