Since this hiatus will apparently last longer than it was planned - do you have any suggestions on how to pass the time? Your favourite TV shows/movies/books/videogames/literally anything else? If this list is long, pls take your time with the answer!
First off - *hugs* - time flies though, and we will get teasers and videos at some point! 🙌
And in the meantime… well, I can recommend some of the (audio)books of the Chronicles, for one, but I have also been wondering about what to (re)watch next.
So here’s my list for the upcoming months;))
- if you like to create/write collect a few prompts. I have more than enough *coughs* and I plan to do them in the next 6 months. But this could go for drawing, videos, gifs as well? Anything that keeps you connected to the material, if you should wish so.
- I can recommend watching Severance, Foundation and For All Mankind, the latter even color and society conscious. Slow Horses, too. Wheel of Time was nice as well.
- I‘ll probly do a rewatch of True Blood to tide me over vampire-wise ;) And maybe of the Underworld movies though the last story arc was not finished unfortunately.
- If you never watched Stargate or Star Trek… well those should tide you over?! *laughs*
- Gaming wise… I played The Witcher 3 multiple times in a row. It is amazing. If you haven’t and like RPGs get the Game of the Year addition on GOG and just… enjoy. The soundtrack, the storylines, the adaptation of the books - simply amazing. Cyberpunk 2077 was good as well, despite the flaws, but I played V multiple times. I‘m currently playing Diablo 4, and though I find it only okay it will likely be two seasons for me for the hiatus ^^
- Bladerunner 1 & 2 are amazing films, both need time to grow on you though if you haven’t seen them. Oh and have you seen the Alien movies??? I still adore them, and the prequels, too. They hold up surprisingly well trick-wise, too
- The old Dune in contrast to the new adaptation. If you like the design of the old one I would recommend to take a look at the Necronomicon 1&2 for the designs by H. R. Giger.
- Edit: just ran across some gifs and Get Out and Us are also must sees
So yeah, these are my recommendations… maybe someone else wants to add something on? 😅
Hope you have fun watching/reading/gaming whatever you choose!!! But, honestly, those 6 months will fly by, I just know it^^ And I bet we’ll get the teasers KP Hagnasay talked about soon!!!!

Smart Sport Betting Guide - Understanding the Basics
Tumblr media
Sports betting has been around for centuries and has grown in popularity in the recent years due to technology. Now you can place a bet online with your favourite sports book, or make a selection on your cell phone - all these at the comfort of your own home. Sports betting has never been easier in the history of mankind to bet on sports.
Sports wagering can definitely provide extreme fun and excitement to those passionate about sports as well as the serious bettors finding a way to make smart money. Before one embarks on sports betting, it would be wise to understand the basic of sports betting.
In this article you will learn the 8 basic terms and definitions commonly used in betting on sports.
1. Straight Bets
A straight bet is the most common bet. This is where you wager on a single side to win. Straight bets can be made using either the point spread or the money line or the game total to go over or under. The format of line will vary depending on the sport that you are betting on. click here now bahis siteleri
2. Parlays
A parlay is a bet with two or more teams (events) in which all teams must win. Since it is harder to predict multiple events than it is for a single event, the payout odds increases as the number of included events increases.
3. Teasers
A teaser is a special type of parlay in sports betting in which you adjust the point spread or total of each individual play. Additional points are either either added to the underdog or subtracted from the favorite. The price of moving the point spread (teasing) is lower payout odds for winning the teaser wagers.
4. Props
In sports betting, a prop is a special wager offered by the sports book on unique and various topics. These wagers can be on sporting events, politics, and even trial outcomes. The wagers use the money line format of pay off odds and might included for example who scores the first touchdown in the super bowl, or who will win the next presidential election, or whether or not O. J. will be found guilty.
5. Futures
In sports betting, futures odds are posted in advance on the winners (a team or a player) of various major events or tournaments at the start of a season. The odds will change as the season or tournament progresses and it will change according to each team's performance in the series. However the odds at the time of your wager will remain in effect.
6. Total (over/under)
In sports betting, a total wager is to bet on the combined number of runs, points or goals scored by both teams during the game, including the overtime. You can bet Over - In sports betting the over is a sports bet in which the bettor guesses that the combined point total of two teams will be above a specified total. Or you can bet Under - When it comes to sports betting a under is a wager in which the bettor guesses that the total points scored by two teams will be under a certain number.
7. Point Spread
In sports betting this is the predicted scoring differential between two teams as quoted by a sports book. A "line" is set for each game by the odds makers. Favorites will have a - (minus) sign followed by a number, while the underdogs will have a + (plus), followed by a number. Here's an example NFL line:
Chicago + 7
Baltimore -7
Baltimore is the favorite and must win by 8 points or more to win. If they win by exactly 7 points, the game is a "push" or tie, and you get the amount of your bet back. If Baltimore wins by 6 points or less, or loses the game, then those that bet on Chicago will win the money.
A lot of times you'll see a 1/2 point, for example Baltimore is -7 1/2 points. This eliminates "pushes" since a team can't score 1/2 a point.
Sometimes you'll see games where the spread is "Pick" or "PK". That means the line is 0 and no points are in effect...just pick the winner. Point spread bets can be either "straight" or "parlay" bets.
8. Money Lines
In sports betting, they are odds expressed in terms of money. With money odds, whenever there is a minus (-) you lay that amount to win a hundred dollars, where there is a plus (+) you get that amount for every hundred dollars wagered. The minus sign is for the favorites while the plus sign is for the underdog.

You can bet Around - In sports wagering the over is a athletics bet in which the bettor guesses that the combined point entire of two teams are going to be above a specified total. You might as well bet Under - In relation to sports betting a beneath is a wager in which the player guesses that the total things scored by two squads will be under a certain range.
7. Point Spread
Inside sports betting this is the believed scoring differential between a pair of teams as quoted by way of a sports book. A "line" is set for each game with the odds makers. Favorites should have a - (minus) indicator followed by a number, while the underdogs will have a + (plus), followed by a number. Here's an illustration NFL line:
Chicago and 7
Baltimore -7
Baltimore is the favorite and need to win by 8 factors or more to win. Whenever they win by exactly 8 points, the game is a "push" or tie, and you receive the amount of your bet again. If Baltimore wins by simply 6 points or a lesser amount of, or loses the game, subsequently those that bet on Which you could will win the money.
In most situations you'll see a 1/2 place, for example Baltimore is -7 1/2 points. This reduces "pushes" since a crew can't score 1/2 a degree.
Sometimes you'll see games where spread is "Pick" or even "PK". That means the line is usually 0 and no points come in effect... just pick the victorious one. Point spread bets might be either "straight" or "parlay" bets.
8. Money Traces
In sports betting, they can be odds expressed in terms of dollars. With money odds, every time there is a minus (-) anyone lay that amount to gain a hundred dollars, where there is a plus (+) you get that amount for every number of dollars wagered. The subtract sign is for the most favorite while the plus sign is designed for the underdog.
Well, Hopefully this article will offer some basic information and understanding and may probably provide some help to your own personal sports betting.
Towards your regular winning on sports gambling!

The Villains of Shadowhunters. Part 2.
…thoughts, opinions, reflections, and predictions of past, present, and future villains. I wanted to talk or post about the Shadowhunters’ villains, because heroes are not without villains. So, I dig within the books, myths, lores, and the show’s perspectives. WARNING: Major Books’ spoilers!!!!
I will be discussing about Valentine, Sebastian, Lilith, Lorenzo, and Asmodeus. And how Sebastian is linked to Magnus.
And I do not know what the show will do and how much of the books will make it to season 3…so, it kinda a big rants on the villains and the what’s ifs.
I do wanna hear from you guys too…on your views on the past, present, and future villains.
This is a long post. Bear with me.
Season 3
Lorenzo, Lilith, and Asmodeus.
All three names have been mentioned and confirmed. These are my thoughts and predictions. I do not know what the show will do…but I am going to use what I got from the books, lores, and hints from the show.
Lorenzo
I don’t know “how much” damage he will bring. He might be a surprise. All the teasers might be a distraction. To me, he’s the other side of the conversation. Some of the audience and the fans often forgets that…Magnus relationship with the Shadowhunters also comes with consequences too. Now, that he’s in a relationship with the Head of Institution…things will never be the same.
Know one thing…a very important factor. That all the choices that were made were motivated TO PROTECT. Yes, some people were mad at Magnus for the choices he made. However, I have seen comments more driven by being an Alec bias to forget that Magnus also has his reasons and his feelings. I understood both Magnus and Alec’s choices. It’s more rewarding to see the whole story…instead of narrow-mindedness, just saying.
There’s always two sides of a story.
The theory is Lorenzo is here to take Magnus’ title as the High Warlock…because he believes Magnus is unfit due to his agreement with the Seelies. How does Warlocks become High Warlock? It’s based on skills, talents, power, and reputations. Either, you’re appointed, you freely take up the title, or you can challenge another for it.
I have rewatched some of the episodes…Magnus was not the only one. There were other warlocks, including Catarina there. Sure, they were there to help Magnus…but it is also very clearly stated that Magnus was there to help the warlocks and other Downworlders. Unfortunately, the show didn’t connected the dots enough for the audience. And Izzy, did say the wards that was created did help but people only saw pettiness. Things like this definitely needs more reforms within the show’s editing and directions.
Punishing Magnus for this…to me is only the surface to the real reason. Because, if we are going to point fingers. Nobody is innocent. Instead, Lorenzo is there to punish Magnus for working with the Shadowhunters. I can see…within the Downworlders, Magnus might be seen as a traitor. Magnus did say to Alec, that his reputation is also on the line (associating himself with a shadowhunter). Which a lot of fans seems to forget that Alec is also NEW to Magnus.
Since season 1, he has been nothing but…unfortunately, their pet. Hence, The Warlock Pet. They are always at his door, asking for something. Do this and do that. Magnus is very kind and giving character. It’s kind of a curse. He is canonically written as so. So, he does it. Even with sass and salt, he still does it. What he hasn’t done much…is his work. His other obligations to the Downworlders. So, punishing Magnus for protecting his kind is stupid and narrow.
I know, that the show is limited and we can only assume things but like how Todd had to apologized for not telling the audience (at SDCC) that Magnus did get his Spell Book back…because damn, it’s THE Spell Book. Magnus’ SPELL BOOK. Which, he kept locked and secured. So, it’s important part of him. That is called, poor management, writing, and direction. He did canonically say…that Alec returned it to Magnus. Boyfriend brownies’ points that we did not get to see.
Magnus Bane Deserves Better. So, to me…Season 3 and Lorenzo will be an open door to something much bigger…and that it’s not the Clary’s show. Yeah, I said it. I like Clary but all these characters play a larger part on a larger scale. If you only thinking one side…you will miss out in some good storyline and development.
I want you think this…if a war is coming. A strategy to use is to weaken and eliminate a powerful element and ally. Magnus has been that element for the Shadowhunters. Lorenzo will bring doubts and will dig into Magnus’ insecurities. Being a High Warlock is an honor…it’s apart of Magnus’ identity and to take it away is to break him…weakening the dynamic and the alliance between the Shadowhunters and a powerful Warlock. Just a thought.
Lilith
The adopted mother of Sebastian. She will be the main villain of season 3. She is the mother’s wrath. The Shadowhunters has hurt her son. Simple, she will hurt and kill those who hurt him. Sebastian is her special son.
Lilith is a mother. Seriously, a mother. It’s a big part of her identity. In lores, she is the mother of demons. There’s a version of her in many mythology and lores. From the Bible, to the Roman’s, to the Arabic’s , to the Hebrew’s texts…etc. Including modern lores like CW’s Supernatural…but it’s important to not mistaken this show for the other. In Jewish mythology, she a demon of the night and literally known for stealing babies. Which is an interesting aspect to consider in her relationship with Sebastian….another tale, states she was actually Adam’s first wife but she refused to have sex with Adam…so she was cast out of Eden and turned into a demon. Than, Eve was made and made to be obey. Yes, incredibly sexist and disgusting. Which, is an important to remember how Lilith sees mankind…and mortals and men.
In the books, they did follow the Adam, Lilith, and Eve story…a little. She is basically one of the first humans. The first immortals. She did disobey and they punished her…by making her barren or infertile. Interesting element to keep in mind with her relationship with Sebastian. When she was cast out…she got into a relationship with a fallen angel, Sammael. He was her lover. Through their union…she became the first human turned demon. They sired the beginning of warlocks, witches, and fairies. Basically, she and him started Downworlders on earth. They sired a lot of Downworlders, which then the angels punished them and trapped them into place called the VOID. Book facts, Lilith can only stay on earth for a few hours…if not she will be pulled back to the VOID. This was created by the angels. Sammael was later killed by Micheal, the angel. Lilith…became the Lady of Edom and Mother of Warlocks. She also to the Shadowhunters, categorically label as a Greater Demon. However, I personally think she isn’t…because she was never an angel. She was human.
Here, the current link and note from shadowhunters wiki…to my predictions for season 3 villains’ arc:
“…Some time in the 1990s, Lilith was summoned by the young and ambitious Shadowhunter, Valentine Morgenstern. Lilith agreed to give Valentine her blood for his experiments, and Lilith took an interest in the unborn child Valentine had been giving her blood to via his biological mother, knowing he will be a powerful being—according to her, even more powerful than all the Greater Demons, and more mighty than the Asmodei. Lilith has since kept tabs on Sebastian, whom she sees as her own son and herself as his true mother”.
This is important…Lilith wants Sebastian to be the most powerful. Like any mother…she wants her son to be the best. Not against the best of the Shadowhunters but against Asmodei. Here…are you still with me. Asmodei are the children of Asmodeus. In the books, Asmodeus is the most powerful of the Greater Demons. My assumptions, is through Sebastian…she will overthrow Asmodeus and take Edom…or Edom and the other dimension, Earth.
Keep in mind, Edom is a dimension. A mirror image of earth…with their own mundanes, Downworlders, and Shadowhunters. But in this dimension…the Shadowhunters lost and Asmodeus and his children took over Edom. Why did they lose?…this is “Really” important here and a major theme of the books and show…the Edom’s Shadowhunters were more prideful and unwilling to work and live peacefully with the Edom’s Downworlders…through the discrimination and treatments, the Downworlders aligned themselves with their true parents…Papa Asmodeus and Mama Lilith. Joined Asmodeus, the Asmodeies, Lilith, and the others demons and overthrown the entire dimension.
Lesson here, if the killing and the discriminations of the Downworlders continues…history will repeat itself. Unfortunately, the relationship with the Downworlders and Shadowhunters has always been on thin ice. And true, people within both sides are trying to better the relationship but old wounds don’t heal over night.
Interesting books’ facts, Lilith was in a sexual relationship with Benedict Lightwood and he got Demon Pox from her. Demon pox is a disease you get from having a sexual relationship with “some” demons. They tried to cure him of the disease…instead turned him into a worm…it’s weird, shameful, and embarrassing history of the Lightwoods. But…that’s her link to the Lightwoods.
Season 3, will be major driven by Sebastian and his mother. They will start small first…Sebastian heals…Lilith will send her demons minions and other allies to keep the Shadowhunters busy.
Asmodeus.
I think he is the Big Bad. Lucifer isn’t mentioned much in the books. He is kinda of overused in many media already. So, it’s more exciting to expand to the other characters of this lore.
I think, he will make an appearance in season 3. Towards the end. One teaser hashtags is #Asmodeusknowsbest, keep that in mind.
Asmodeus like Lilith…is not an original Mortal Instruments’ character. He is also mentioned throughout history in many textbooks. Asmodeus, the King of Demons, King of The Nine Hell, and one of the Prince of the seven deadly sins. He is the demon of lust. Lucifer is the demon of pride. If you’re wondering. In the books, he is the ruler of Edom and a prince of Hell. He also the general of Hell’s army. And a fallen angel. Brother to Lucifer and Raziel, the Shadowhunters’ angel. And…of course, he is Magnus’ father.
Remember, how I told you that Asmodeus and his children took over Edom. In Edom, his children is called Asmodei…on earth, they are known as Warlocks. Hence, Magnus. This is important here…Magnus isn’t like other Warlocks.
Warlocks are made by demons…which the show did informed the audience through Iris’ house of horror. Asmodeus…is a fallen angel. His children isn’t just the basic traditional Warlocks…they have angel blood. Asmodeus’ blood. Magnus in the books “canonically’ reacts to Shadowhunters’ tools and weapons…interestingly, because he has angel blood. Sure, fallen angel’s blood but still angel. Often, Shadowhunters’ weapons, tools, and runes are protected and would hurt and kill Downworlders…who dares to touch or tamper with them.
I will say this…and have said it many times. Asmodeus was a disappointment of the books. Sorry, not sorry. I read the books and spend my own money on them…so, opinions are opinions. I am a fan…as a fan, I can also criticize. I am not alone in this opinion. Don’t get sensitive, book stans. I love both the show and the books.
Asmodeus was a strong built up…I had a lot anticipation for him but instead…it’s was mediocre. He’s so powerful but yet…this is it? The children of angels finally comes face to face with a Fallen Angel…basically the Lucifer of the Mortal Instruments and all he wanted was…Simon’s memories. Sure, taking Simon’s memories is sad but…it didn’t last long. Simon did regained his memories…so forth. Not much of a threat. Which is so unfortunate, most when Asmodeus can be so much more. Literally, why isn’t he?
Will the show follow this? I hope not. I am all for the show and books to a common ground. It shouldn’t be a match. Sorry, but no interpretation has ever been a perfect replica. So, like CC said…the show is a fanfiction. So fingers crossed, I really want a badass and epic Asmodeus.
To me, Asmodeus unfortunately became…a part of the writer’s last book curse. Yeah, I call it a curse. Often, long series…the last book tends to fall short compared to the success of the others…especially the conclusion of the tale. I know, I am generalizing it and not all series got the curse but…I read a lot of books and there’s always something about the last book…like the last season of a TV series, it often never meet the demands. As a writer, myself…I know this curse.
However, Asmodeus like the anticipation I had when I read Heavenly Fire…he had a lot of potential. So, the show has an opportunity to give Asmodeus, the justice he deserves and the show deserves…we need a real big infamous villain.
Why do I think he’s the Big BAD. Because him and his children were able to overthrown an entire world and destroyed all of Edom’s Shadowhunters. Edom, once was just like Earth (Edom was suppose be a mirror image of Earth, with their own differences…of course) but now with demons as it main population…years later it became a wasteland.
Now, why not…move on to the next world. A new playground. One of the biggest reason for the Fall of Edom was because of the Shadowhunters’ pride and hatred towards the Downworlders. Leading the Downworlders to turn to Asmodeus and His children for help. And that’s how Edom became the Edom. Edom is the Mortal Instruments series’s version of hell.
My predictions here, it will start with Sebastian and Lilith…they will start a war. There’s two directions here. Either Lilith helps Sebastian with his vengeance and kill all those who have wronged him and in return help her conquer Edom. I say this because she believes she can make Sebastian stronger and more powerful than Asmodeus and his children. The other direction, Asmodeus does work with Lilith and Sebastian to a point…however, I do believe they will betray each other. There’s is no way Asmodeus will let Lilith Shadowhunters’ mortal son take his throne. Especially, when he’s unstable and a brat. Not when he has his own son….Magnus. How I see it, let Sebastian and Lilith weaken the group’s bond and start a war to divide the Shadowhunters and the Downworlders.
Here’s a thing. Asmodeus is an angel and he still must abide to the “free will” rule. No angel or demon cannot take the will…the will must be given to them. It’s an act of mockery towards God, who gave the mortals their free will…and to tempt the mortals in giving his or her soul to a demon is basically a “told you so.” However, it is also protection. Free will means you choose your path. Hence, why demons are big on temptations, selling souls, and haunting. They have power…and will use the power to break the individuals to give over their will…and there is also some serious daddy’s issue here too…which is a common theme in this show.
This is where Magnus comes in. If history does repeat itself…with the current relationships between the Shadowhunters and Downworlders…as I call it…thin ice and if Edom is the mirror image of Earth…get where I am going here. Asmodeus will need Magnus to take Earth and destroy The Clave and The Shadowhunters. Asmodeus’ children makes him stronger and more powerful. He needs Magnus.
But here’s the bigger scale…why he is Big Bad to me…unlike Valentine. He and his army will kill them all…both the mundanes and the Shadowhunters and any Downworlders in between. Basically, the classic world domination plot. Here’s something…his motives is different…I don’t want it to be because of “power’ but because of who he is…Asmodeus was an angel. He has seen heaven and he know what is considered as “good” and “beautiful.” But when he saw the creation of men and women…Lucifer, Asmodeus, and the other brothers saw evil within. Freedom is a dangerous thing.
A world of true evil…which is a reflection of us. He is Valentine with a bigger upgrade. To a fallen angel, it’s not Downworlders, Shadowhunters, races, religions, sexualities, politics, etc…it’s humanity that is the problem. To the Fallens, the mortals will never be good. They were not made perfect. Flawed creatures.  Motivated by greed, selfishness, lust, pride, etc…to Asmodeus, Adam and Eve…God’s first mortals…also fell from grace…I think to Asmodeus…he just wants his father to know that all his children are disappointments…and that he was wrong. How many of us…wants to prove our parents wrong? This goes back…why Asmodeus is The Villain. His motives are like Valentine and Sebastian but the scale is bigger. He against someone much more powerful than the Clave.
These are my thoughts and predictions. Honestly, I don’t know what will happen and how much will make into a 40-ish minute show, I don’t know. But…through using aspects of the books, mythology, and lores…these villains can have the potential to shine. And yes, they will be hard, unpredictable, difficult, and awful to the characters…but a hero is not without a villain.
So, any thoughts?
Do forgive me, I wrote this on a rant style. Thee grammar is terrible. hahaha.

rating myself on how accurately i predicted the relevance of these titles!
6x01 Cannonade: the word “cannonade” was never spoken in the episode, but one presumes it refers to the continuous bombardment of the cannons that chuck’s neighbor fires off twice daily. somehow i didn’t make this specific connection despite said cannons showing up in the season 6 teaser released the day before. prince is arguably under fire from everyone who has no faith in him, but that’s up for interpretation. rating: 3/5.
6x02 Lyin’ Eyes: lyin’ eyes was used in the episode — twice! — but it wasn’t for the thematic relevance of the lyrics, and it wasn’t even the eagles’ version. i was right about it being most pertinent to wags, but not in any way i expected. rating: 2/5.
6x03 STD: apparently “std” stands for “sure thing, dude,” which i don’t think anyone on this earth would have predicted. ben kim clearly thought it meant “sexually transmitted disease,” as most people would. rating: 1/5.
6x04 Burn Rate: coach cal warns prince cap about people who spend more than they make, because “the burn rate gets them every time,” and the rest of the episode shows us how much money prince cappers spend and on what. i wouldn’t call those prices burn rates, because they’re just monetary amounts rather than money spent per unit of time (which is what makes it a burn rate), but i don’t write the show. rating: 4/5.
6x05 Rock of Eye: chuck tells dave that “the finest bespoke tailors have rock of eye,” which he defines for her and says he has, enabling him to see that he should hire her. dave later shows up to claim that job, saying that she used her own rock of eye to decide. chuck and dave both get to be figurative tailors! rating: 5/5.
6x06 Hostis Humani Generis: chuck mentions “the original term for pirate, hostis humani generis,” which dave translates as “enemy of all mankind.” chuck declares prince, and all billionaires, to be just that and says that a hostis humani generis is “beyond any legal protection and prosecutable by any and all.” beth schacter and i clearly read the same wikipedia article! rating: 5/5.
thanks to the writers guild of america directory, we have the first six billions s6 episode titles! and their writers! the list, and thoughts on what they might mean:
6x01 “Cannonade” (by Brian Koppelman & David Levien): a cannonade = a period of continuous bombardment / heavy gunfire. someone’s under attack. (or maybe it refers to the racehorse of the same name.)
6x02 “Lying Eyes” (by Emily Hornsby): “lyin’ eyes” is a song by the eagles about a young woman who marries a rich older man and cheats on him with a younger man. trouble in paradise for senior and roxanne? or wags and chelz? or ira and taiga, again? or maybe it’s a metaphorical application. in any case, that’s one likely music cue for the season.
6x03 “STD” (by Theo Travers): wikipedia gives many definitions for the initialism “STD,” including but not limited to: sexually transmitted disease (unsurprisingly), internet standards such as STD 68, short term disability, and star trek: discovery.
6x04 “Burn Rate” (by Brian Koppelman & David Levien & Lio Sigerson): in finance, the burn rate is the rate at which a company spends money, particularly the rate at which venture capital is spent before a company starts generating income. finance-specific episode titles tend to be literal, so someone’s burning through cash, perhaps unsustainably.
6x05 “Rock of Eye” (by Eli Attie): “rock of eye” is a tailoring term, meaning an approach to tailoring that’s artistic, instinctual, and guided solely by the eye, rather than a scientific, measurement-based approach. will we get a literal tailor? a figurative tailor? some play on taylor’s name? (they don’t trust instinct, but maybe they’ll have to learn to trust it.)
6x06 “Hostis Humani Generis” (by Beth Schacter): “hosti humani generis” (latin for “enemy of mankind”) is a legal term, designating a person or group of people as beyond legal protection and subject to violence from anyone. this first, and most often, applied to pirates. remember prince calling axe a pirate in 5x11? or dollar bill’s nostalgia for the days of outlaws — literally people to whom the law didn’t apply, who could be killed by anyone — in 2x09? prince might find himself on the wrong side of that designation.

Okay! Starting to put up the thing I keep referring to as Midwinter Demon Fic (or, alternately, “how the HELL are you 66k already?!”) on AO3! Um, come read along and encourage me to finish it? Especially if you like urban fantasy and musicians and m/m romance fluff? The place I want to send it has a deadline, so I’m trying to use this as community motivation! <3
Come read at AO3 here! Teaser below.
##
New York City glittered like a fairytale beyond studio walls. Tall buildings and the offices of dreams: recording studios, publishing houses—the familiar baronial spires of the Randolph House media empire spiked upward like runaway arrows—and vibrant museums and festive parks. Statues and bas-reliefs on buildings. George vanquishing the demon-worm. Hannah Clarence, the weather-witch who’d helped build the city’s harbor. Various unicorns. The unicorns looked smug, in the way of magical creatures who knew their own value. The ones on the bank down the street’d been decorated with ornaments.
Holiday season had landed upon them, unicorns and all. In eye-watering color. Barreling down like a runaway train made of tinsel and spruce and harvest pies. Not everyone celebrated Midwinter the same way, of course, in this twinkling mosaic of a city, but most did. Reaffirmations of life in the midst of long nights. Joyous riotous bonfires and roasted apples and dancing. Thanks to God, or the gods, or whatever higher power someone believed might’ve once given mankind the gift of magic, to make it through the night. A woman on the corner was selling chestnuts, a sweet drift of roasted scent through evening lights.
He kicked a small pebble on the street, just because. It landed in a puddle left over from the afternoon’s drizzle and glared at him reproachfully. No patience for aging rock stars and their existential discontent.
Justin appeared at his elbow. “Leave the poor earth elementals alone, would you? I’m sorry about the joke; it wasn’t a good one.”
“Not an elemental. Only a rock.” He finished off the tea. Slumped against the recording studio’s blank stone. Let the wall hold him up. Forty-three years old, and he felt every one of them. Plus more. Double. “Am I being ridiculous? I’m being ridiculous. Ridiculous holiday album idea. I’m turning ‘You Light My Fire’ into ‘Light My Midwinter Bonfire.’ It doesn’t even work with the rhythm.”
“Well,” Justin considered judiciously, “I won’t say I’m complaining about you recording anything, but ‘Baby, It’s Harvest Time’ did seem a little confused as far as metaphors…”
 “I’m a failure. I’m a washed-up ancient relic, and I’m a failure.”
“You’re the voice—and face—of arguably the most successful and most sparkly band of the last several decades.” Justin held out a bag. “Chestnut? And yes, present tense. People know who you are. You had an impact. You made a difference. For a lot of fans, and for people who love you.”
Kris stared at the bag. Wondered when chestnut acquisition’d happened. Justin hadn’t left his side, right? Or had he been too busy wallowing in self-pity to notice, and Justin’d had time to wander down to the corner, buy seasonal delicacies, and come back?
He was, he concluded, a terrible, self-absorbed, melodramatic person. He accepted a chestnut.

Apple TV's Dickinson Teaser Trailer | Screen Rant
Tumblr media
With a new teaser for Dickinson, Apple TV+ continues to roll out previews of its upcoming original programming as the presumed launch date of the service draws near. The series is the fourth of Apple’s slate of new shows set to premiere this fall, coming on the heels of Ron D. Moore’s alt-history space race drama For All Mankind, the star-studded earnestness of Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s The Morning Show, and, wait for it… Snoopy in Space.
So far, Apple’s original programming lineup looks to be a mix of family friendly shows and possible award contenders. The service is expected to launch sometime in the fall, with rumors around the internet suggesting November, right around the same time Disney pushes the start button on its promising Disney+ streaming service. And after the recent trailer for The Mandalorian, along with the slate of Marvel and Star Wars shows set to hit the service at the same time that launches (or very soon after), it would seem as though Apple, and every other streamer, will be facing some stiff competition.
More: Kingdom Of The White Wolf Interview: Ronan Donovan On Nat Geo WILD’s New Event Series
As such, Apple’s move to follow D23 and its various based-on-culturally-dominant-IP programming announcements with the relatively quaint idea of a series telling the story of a young Emily Dickinson as something of a rebellious 19th century millennial might actually be a stroke of genius. In terms of counter-programming, Apple’s lineup likely isn’t going to set the internet on fire, but for those looking for something other than superheroes and space operas, Apple TV+ might be worth its monthly charge on that shiny new Apple Card. Take a look at the teaser trailer for Dickinson below:
youtube
“Starring Hailee Steinfeld, ‘Dickinson’ audaciously explores the constraints of society, gender and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet, Emily Dickinson (Steinfeld). Set in the 19th century, “Dickinson” is a coming-of-age story that finds Emily Dickinson to be an unexpected hero for our millennial era.”
The series is created, executive produced, and written by Alena Smith (The Newsroom, The Affair) and is also executive produced by Steinfeld herself. As the teaser shows, Dickinson also stars 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Jane Krakowski, as well as Toby Huss, who is fresh off his stint on Netflix’s GLOW season 3. The series will co-star Anna Baryshnikov (Manchester by the Sea), Ella Hunt (Anna and the Apocalypse). and Adrian Blake Enscoe (Girls). With that cast and a clever spin on the famed poet, it seems like Apple TV+ may have a counter-programming hit on its hands.
Next: On Becoming A God In Central Florida Review: The American Dream As Darkly Comic Nightmare
Dickinson will premiere exclusively on Apple TV+ this fall.

Then, Now, Forever: The Evolution of WWE’s Women’s Division
If you have been keeping up with WWE the past few years you would have noticed its bigger emphasis on women’s wrestling since the 2015 ‘Diva Revolution’ (which then got re-branded the ‘Women’s Evolution’ in 2016) than in any other period throughout its history. Since 2015 there have now been more active women on the roster, more active women’s rivalries, women closing out several PPVs including the biggest one of the year for the first time ever with 2019’s Wrestlemania and the first ever installments of Hell in a Cell, Royal Rumble, Iron Man, Money in the Bank match-ups and an entire PPV in 2018 featuring all-women talent. Last year WWE finally got around for the first time in many years releasing an entire home video focusing entirely on women to honor the accomplishments of its lady grapplers throughout the years with 2018’s Then, Now, Forever: The Evolution of WWE’s Women’s Division (trailer). It is a shame WWE has gone so long without an entirely devoted home video to its women wrestlers. WWE use to do a yearly swimsuit/beach retreat video in the early part of the century, but they quickly dissolved that after a few years and the only female athlete I recall to get the marquee documentary/match collection home video release was Lita only a couple years into her run which is unfathomable when you think about all the top women from WWE over the years and the countless home video releases. WWE attempts to make up for their wrongdoings with this three disc DVD featuring nine hours of mini-documentaries highlighting 22 women wrestlers throughout the decades and a match from each woman that gets the spotlight. To be fair though, the past few years WWE has been putting more of their documentary and interviews/specials on their streaming service, WWE Network, over home video exclusives the past few years and on WWE Network there has been many documentaries and specials dedicated to past and present women wrestlers.
It is a bit generous to label the two-to-three minute features as ‘mini-docs’ and are more abbreviated interviews with the ladies. With only two-to-three minutes of interview time it is understandable why some of the women interviewed do not attempt to try and go over their entire career and instead either make some quick generic statements about their legacy in women’s wrestling or instead focus on one big moment in their career. When they do the latter, it makes more of a impact like how Molly Holly talks about how big a deal it was to get shaved bald at Wrestlemania XX and Natalya reflecting on her opportunity to steal the show with Charlotte Flair at the first NXT TakeOver. Some of the more controversial women of WWE’s past are either not highlighted at all in interview form or only featured in matches against other spotlighted women. The legendary Fabulous Moolah’s controversial allegations of her past surfacing in recent years results in no archived interviews featuring her which is kind of a shocker considering the icon status her and Mae Young got whenever WWE brought them out for a legends segment from the late 90s to the late 00s. Moolah is featured in a couple matches however. Once against Wendi Richter in an unearthed MSG house show bout and in a 10-women Survivor Series rules match with a bunch of classic talent I always heard about, but rarely seen in action such as Rockin’ Robin, Velvet McIntyre, the Glamour Girls and the Jumping Bomb Angels.
A lot of the famous names from the ‘Attitude Era’ and ‘Diva-Search Era’ stars that earned a rep for WWE featuring them more as showpieces instead of being remembered for their in-ring talents do not get the mini-doc treatment such as Sunny, Chyna, Sable, Debra, Terri, Eve, Christy Hemme, Ashley Massaro and Kelly Kelly. I was also surprised that a few legit in-ring talents got snubbed from the mini-doc treatment like Asuka, Jacquelyn and Jazz for some reason. A couple of these names make cameos in the 2018 Women’s Royal Rumble match and Chyna’s total squash over Ivory at Wrestlemania X-7 is featured, but for the most part these women are absent from the interviews. Of the 22 ‘spotlights’ only four of them are from the pre-Attitude-era consisting of Mae Young, Wendi Richter, Sherri Martel and Madusa/Alundra Blayze. I was delighted to see a lot of talent from the underrated 2001-2006 women’s division era get showcased and interviewed like Trish, Lita, Molly Holly, Ivory and Victoria. The expected breakout stars from the ‘Women’s Evolution’ era are all spotlighted with all the ‘Four Horsewomen’ and their successors like Alexa Bliss and Ronda Rousey. I am kind of cringing over Carmella’s inclusion in the spotlights since her Money in the Bank assist wins and later championship reign with help from one Mr. Ellsworth was the only dark cloud over the ‘Women’s Evolution’ from the past four years. Of the 22 matches featured in the collection, all but several are worthy inclusions. A part of me would like to see another collection of standout women matches from 1985-95 because I cannot recall too many before and the four featured here are surprisingly good. Do not miss out on the aforementioned 1987 Survivor Series match and especially do not skip over the 1995 RAW match of Alundra Blayze/Bull Nakano. They pull off all kinds of insane spots that had me reeled in for the entire match while another part of me was shocked WWE put this type of match on TV in 1995.
WWE included a lot of first time ever match-ups with the women in this collection. Some of them are awesome like the first ever women’s Royal Rumble in 2018 and the first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match that same year. Others are underwhelming/disappointing considering the talent involved like the first women’s Cage Match with Lita and Victoria and the first women’s Hell in a Cell match with Sasha and Charlotte that has one of the most lackluster table spots of all time. NXT got the ball rolling with the ‘Women’s Evolution’ and I was thrilled to see a few NXT matches in here with standouts like Paige/Emma, Natalya/Charlotte and my personal all-time favorite women’s match featuring Sasha/Bayley in a Iron Man match back when we loved both of them and it seemed impossible that the two would later somehow seem capable of engaging in the worst rivalry of 2018. Luckily, better horsewomen matches are included like Lynch, Charlotte & Sasha tearing it up in their stellar triple threat at WrestleMania 32. This collection wraps up with Ronda Rousey’s debut WWE match from WrestleMania 34 in her surprise show-stealing mixed tag with Kurt Angle against Stephanie & Triple H last year. It serves as a great teaser at the year of Ronda in WWE where she put the ‘Women’s Evolution’ into overdrive with her absolutely stunning first year in the business. This is a mostly gratifying collection of matches from WWE’s history of women’s wrestling and while they could have done a better job with a little more depth in the spotlights like they did with their True Giants home video release, this is still a pretty solid overall compilation at most of the best talent and memorable matches that WWE’s women have delivered. Easy recommendation for Then, Now, Forever: The Evolution of WWE’s Women’s Division. July 25, 2019 Update: - A little over a week after posting this I noticed on Amazon out of nowhere a new DVD dropped chronicling Lita & Trish's storied rivalry. I had no idea this was coming and timed this entry nicely with Trish & Lita: Best Friends Better Enemies (trailer) releasing a week after I originally posted this entry! I ordered it right when I noticed its listing just a day or two after its releasing so make sure come back here down the line for my thoughts! Good on WWE for dedicating another home video for some of the best women to grace its ring! Favorites will have a - (minus) sign followed by a quantity, when the underdogs will have a + (plus), followed by a quantity. Here's an instance NFL line: Chicago + 7 Baltimore -7 Baltimore may be the favourite and have to win by 8 points or much more to win. If they win by specifically 7 points, the game is actually a "push" or tie, and also you get the volume of your bet back. If Baltimore wins by 6 points or significantly less, or loses the game, then these that bet on Chicago will win the money. Lots of instances you will see a 1/2 point, as an example Baltimore is -7 1/2 points. This eliminates "pushes" given that a team can not score 1/2 a point. Occasionally you are going to see games exactly where the spread is "Pick" or "PK". That means the line is 0 and no points are in impact...just pick the winner. Point spread bets is usually either "straight" or "parlay" bets. 8. Income Lines In sports betting, they're odds expressed in terms of money. With cash odds, anytime there is a minus (-) you lay that amount to win a hundred dollars, where there's a plus (+) you get that amount for every hundred dollars wagered. The minus sign is for the favorites though the plus sign is for the underdog.
