by the way the impression i always had of disney's pinocchio was that the blue fairy WAS the wishing star so while im 100% certain that this is not the intended read (and for starters, fairy god has cosmo's VA so i think he's probably meant to be perceived as male) i do think it would have been funny if brandy lynn WAS fairy god and cosmo had been dating fairy god but dumped her for wanda.

btw finally finished fairly odder and ive got some interesting information out of it:

brandy lynn (cosmo's ex) is an adaptation of the blue fairy from pinocchio (aka the fairy with turquoise hair)

fairies say "oh my fairy god" instead of "oh my god" which implies the existence of a fairy god they worship

fairy god is a real force that exists because viv and roy meet fairy god. it's the wishing star from disney's pinocchio.

Do you have any headcanons for Poof/Peri's future? Like do you think he'd be the type to have kids of his own someday?

the answer to the first is, well, i mean. yeah. most fop art i've been drawing is about headcanons i've had about poof's future. though i guess it's not really "the future" anymore now that anw exists? lol. but to answer the second question - well. it's complicated.

yes, he wants kids. based on the way he acted in two and a half babies, combined with the fact that my poof would have been there for tammy and tommy's birth and would help timmy take care of and raise them - i do think he'd be the type to want kids. for my poof specifically, he became a godparent for the same reason cosmo and wanda did. not to live up to a family legacy, not to uphold a family business. but because he wants to raise kids.

now, i ignore the fairy baby ban COMPLETELY in almost all of my work bc of all the fairy kids that show up in the series so like. he grew up with other fairy kids, and there's absolutely nothing at all stopping him from having kids! nothing at all, i suppose, except possibly his partner not wanting kids. but foop was quick to get into the fantasy of being married to poof and raising a child with him soooo lets be honest, a foop who is actually married to poof would be all for it! but... a poof who is married to his anti-fairy counterpart, in a setting where i've decided to portray it as controversial in-universe? well, whether he would actually have them is... i mean... (kicks a rock) i haven't decided.

i headcanon that fairy/anti-fairy couplings actually do happen a lot - i personally like to reinterpret cosmo's ex brandy lynn as an anti-fairy, and the weenie twins as mixed fairy/anti-fairy, which therefore would imply its a normal accepted aspect of fairyworld life. so it's not illegal or anything, just regarded with some prejudice. and add that to the fact that foop has been officially recognized as his counterpart, not the random counterpart of a random fairy - that adds to how scandalous their relationship is viewed. so i think he'd want kids, but he'd also be afraid to have kids. like, afraid of the attention his kids would get, just because of who their parents are or for being mixed fairy/anti-fairy. he doesn't want his kids to be a spectacle. but godkids aren't under that same kind of scrutiny as mixed race fairy/anti-fairy kids, so he feels safer as a godparent - i haven't decided whether i think he gets over that fear. so i don't know if he ends up having any.

i do have some concepts for potential fankids in my workshop though, but they're not finalized yet and i don't know if i'm committing to the idea of them yet either. so. teehee. we'll see what the future holds?

Fairly Odder: episode 10

ok, wth is that. no really, i pause the start to get some early thoughts before starting the full ep to narrate my thoughts as i watch, but really what is that

you recolored Remy for Nate (so they are biologically related?????), and Roy is terrible looking, like you used a flash doll maker that was FOP themed. oh ra i have to reference that to draw him don’t i? nope, not doing that! i draw Tim wrong all the time, i’ll draw Roy wrong too. that is just...no. and WHY?? every other illustrated person was at least canonical; these two chars weren’t. why are you drawn? is that why  the Tad and Chad poster (yes i’m still hung up on that!) was illustrated because that’s a default in-universe for some reason? just...why????

7 min in and we get the theme. weird, didn’t feel that long...then again i harped about the illustrated campaign posters a lot so it was all a blurr anyways

eh...kinda cheaped out that they just painted Roy like a puppet instead of making one. also NOW you remember the “can’t unwish your sibling’s wish” rule huh? seemed a-ok to do that with Codzilla. but lemme guess, Roy can’t unwish it cause he’s not a real boy anymore now right? yup, apparently that’s a rule. i guess that does make sense, seeing as vocal swap wishes have to be made by the voice that started it.

wait, we have a blue fairy (aka a fairy “licensed to work on puppets”)? her name is Brandy-Lynn...and Cosmo’s ex-girlfriend???? when did that happen??? did Momma Cosma set that up? did she approve? everything we’ve learned so far seemed to suggest that she set up all his dates and Wanda was the only girl he dated that she didn’t do that with. and she’s gorgeous...ok...but Cosmo had other girlfriends??

pfft the duck and swam costumes. this is a call back within itself. wow show.

huh you know kids, if the “you can’t use fairy magic to win a competition” rule was in effect, that would be an easy way to fix your puppet problem...or it should make him clam up/go lifeless since in Odd Ball Tim wasn’t allowed to use the magic to score the winning basket. so...there’s still time for that to kick in i guess, seeing as this was the preliminary and not the official competition i guess.

wow, they’re threatening to horribly dismember a child on this children’s show. sure he’s a wooden puppet, and it’s a threat to be turned into chopsticks, but still. threatening horrible dismemberment and murder of a child. nice.

uh...huh...well, she’s purple not blue, so cool. and she’s the taller fairy model...like Star and Twinkle, and she has a lightning bolt earring...was she made to match them? but they were robots...who are puppets...holy cow, is THAT the connection?? did Momma Cosma commission Star and Twinkle from Brandy-Lynn? probably not, idk, kinda grasping at straws. still, more fairy lore so...neat?

well this episode was fairly harmless. we got a new fairy, we got terrible and confusing illustrations. we still don’t have an explanation for Nate’s relationship to Remy. moving on!
