♡— ace trappola pulls you into an ambush of snowballs along the sidewalks of the road as you two walk home on your way back from a days worth of work at nrc. the impact is sudden, leaving your cheeks turning cold the instant the sphere of softened ice hits your face. your eyes meet the twinkle in ace's eyes as he laughs mischievously and reaches his hand into the snow beneath him to conjure up another frozen weapon. he smirks with triumph as he grins a boyish grin that has your heart racing, excitement and challenge coursing through your veins as you turn to get your own snowball.

ace scoffs as you walk away, appalled that you decided to turn away rather than give him your attention, "what, can't handle that fact that i wo-?"

smack!

he spoke too soon.

♡— deuce spade has a surprise for you. and it's killing him not being able to tell you. the surprise consists of a neatly wrapped box his mother helped decorate and a very, very, very thought-out script he'd been rehearsing since november. only the best for you, right? deuce has worked hard to put together your present, going so far as to ask cater for an online link to "cute gifts to give the person you're confessing to during the holidays" on magicam to try and help him brainstorm the perfect gift for you. with that and the knowledge he's learned from you regarding human holidays, deuce has managed to put together something he hopes will show you the words "i. like. you." in more ways than one. he just... really wants you. to like him back, he means.

♡— cater diamond wears matching holiday pajamas with you. he sees it as it's trending all over the internet as cute couples with the same berry red plaid pajamas and matching black hoodies fool around on camera as they all dance playfully together, a memory he'd like to recreate with you. he ropes you into the silly tradition, stopping by your dorm to force coax you into the festive attire. you really have no say in this, and the ever-present phone camera pointed towards both you and cater prove it. you may not even be dating... but that doesn't stop him from persuading you to match with him in the name of you both being "cute for the holidays." in reality, though, he's having the time of his life right now as people in his comment section begin to assume that you two were truly a couple. it's not a crime if he doesn't correct them, right?

♡— trey clover hosts a gingerbread house contest with you. and only you. the idea springs up when you mention the tradition in your world, and trey being the observant man he is, decides that it wouldn't hurt if you two both did it, too. it was well in his element anyway. there was no harm in hosting it as along as you seemed to be enjoying it. designating an entire day to first make the gingerbread from scratch, trey then promptly invites you over to heartslabyul to finally decorate separate houses of sweets. he gives you one set of gingerbread and the other to himself before starting a timer which will signal the beginning of your contest. may the best house win~

♡— riddle rosehearts reads you sweet stories before you go to bed. it's after a long and chilling day as the weather outside prevents either of you from going out, making the both of you stuck to your own devices as you spend the day lazing around the dorm, cozying into your comfiest and warmest attire. you wrap yourselves into as many blankets as possible as you nuzzle into the plush cushions of the couch. riddle, whose face was a light shade of pink (whether that be due to the cold of the temperature or his a little closer proximity to you), then begins to recite a few stories he's memorized by heart as his voice lulls you into sleep. the evening grows darker and colder, yet you and riddle grow warmer and content as he finishes his story, realizing you'd fallen asleep, and softly smiles at you before making sure you were securely tucked into your blankets.

☼— jack howl takes you to go see the beautiful lights of the holidays. at first, he acts indifferent to the festivities of the lights, not really paying them any special mind as he goes on about his day. but when he found out that you personally do find enjoyment in seeing the lights, he makes it his unofficial duty of taking you to see this custom. he asks you in the most awkwardly endearing way; his in denial tendencies showing as he refuses to admit that he's bringing you because, well, he cares for you.

"you like... to see the lights, right?"

"oh- no, i don't really care if we go see these or not. i can live without them."

"but you want to see them, so i guess we coul-"

"wait! i mean- no, i did not say anything. just shut up and come with me."

give the boy a break. he just wants to see you happy~

☼— ruggie bucchi handmakes you a present. it's simple and adorable, although don't say that to him out loud. he knows it is, but... just don't admit it out loud, yeah? he begging you. ruggie works hard to make you this present, going so far as to start preparations weeks before he ever gives it to you. it wasn't too difficult to make, in actuality, it's just that he had made sure every detail was meticulously checked constantly for the best results. thinking of you that entire time making the gift, ruggie is eager to find out your reaction once you open the present. on the outside, he looks as if he really couldn't care less of what your reaction will be. but on the inside, the young man hopes that you'll come to like whatever his nimble hands have made for you.

☼— leona kingscholar is a lazy man. but, sometimes, maybe lazy works out in your favor? you think about this as you and leona lay together in the comforts of the warm cushions of the couch you both had squeezed yourselves on, both laying horizontally as you tightly squished yourselves on the couch as if it were bed. leona lays next to you, his breathing slow and steady as he naps with his arm draped over your waist like a blanket. usually, you'd be pushing this man to wake up and get on his nerves for being so "lazy." but now, you find yourself relaxing as your head rests against his chest—feeling the warmth of his body radiating onto yours. and with the freezing snow falling outside, it was hard to resist this moment of peacefully cuddling the typically more arrogant housewarden. it was comfortable, and that was all that mattered.

❋— floyd leech trades (purposefully) silly gifts with you. you both make a challenge for yourselves: whoever gives the most obscure gift wins. and both of you intend on beating the other. you really couldn't remember how the idea first started, though... all you remember is telling floyd of the traditions in your world and then bam. a brilliant idea struck both of your minds. the process is chaotic and strenuous, but the amount of "weird" items you and floyd find while searching is quite amusing. especially in sam's shop of wonders. but despite the laughs you share with him, this is still a competition. whoever out-sillies the other will win. the challenge is on.

❋— despite the winter festivities taking place, jade leech decides to take you to a more... tropical celebration during the holidays. he brings you along to see the seaside as he pulls you into the clear waters of the ocean for a swim, the heat of the sun contrasting the the cold your other friends were probably currently experiencing. a holiday in the heat isn't unheard of, actually; you just didn't expect for jade to invite you of all people to accompany him, let alone with the trip only consisting you and him. he guides you into the slightly deeper side of the waters as his merform is now seen with you grasping his hands in the ocean. the cold water and heat of the island is a nice change of pace for once as you let jade take both of you wherever he wished, with you keeping your hold on his hand the entire time.

❋— azul ashengrotto takes a day off from working to spend time with you, even if it was just for a day. with work constantly filling his mind, it's sometimes difficult for him to spend time with you outside of your visits to mostro lounge or the occasional spotting and waving in between classes at nrc. but! this time is different because today, azul makes it his goal to take work completely off of his mind as he makes his way to your dorm. mostro lounge should be perfectly fine without him for 24 hours... he left jade in charge, so he knows business is in capable hands. once he picks you up from your dorm, azul decides it would be more gentlemanly of him to let you choose a place for you two spend time at. anything. he needs to make up for all of those times he'd been so caught up in matters at octavinelle, of course.

✰— jamil viper holds your hand in his as he places your hands in his pocket while you walk together. it's another cold day as you're all bundled up in cozy winter jackets when jamil notices you trying to warm your hands up by huffing warm air into your palms. after watching you do this a few more times, the young man walking beside you wordlessly takes your hand in his and gently places both his hand and yours into the fabric of his own pocket. you see him do this as a small flush of your cheeks adds to the already red tint of your face due to the cold. jamil makes no effort in acknowledging his actions, however, as he nonchalantly continues facing forward, ignoring the way you seemed to be left a little embarrassed but smiling by this simple gesture. but that doesn't mean jamil isn't also as equally as giddy as you. he just knows how to hide it better.

✰— kalim al-asim shares a hoodie with you. and i mean, actually shares it. literally. as in, he climbs into your hoodie as you're still wearing it and innocently wraps himself around you, his face resting against the shirt you have underneath your hoodie as he uses you as some sort of blanket. the piece of clothing is oversized enough for both of you to fit in at the same time, so it was perfect. as kalim climbs in to join you, he cuddles himself against you as the warmth from both you and the hoodie engulf him, making him feel like a little woodland creature nuzzling itself into your pocket. it's just that... the pocket was much bigger, and much more closer against you. kalim finds comfort in this space with you, so you may be stuck there for a good while~

♪— epel felmier wakes you up to the letters "i ♡ u" written in the pristine snow outside as you look at him from the window, smiling at him as he grins back at you. it's a little early in the morning at epel's home as you wake up to the sound of small snowballs tapping against the window. getting up from out of your bed to see what, or who, was throwing them, you're then met with the sight of a distant epel on the ground, waving up at you as he points to whatever he's written in the snow. your heart melts unlike the snow as you chuckle at what he's written using his footprints in the white snow, the gesture sweet as you see how proud he was with your reaction.

♪— rook hunt sings and serenades you with holiday love songs outside of your dorm's doorway. they're love songs that you had taught him yourself, but that honestly just makes the moment much more romantic and lovely than it originally would have been. with only a guitar in his hands and a bouquet of flowers resting in the quiver strapped along his back with his arrows, rook begins to play you a few songs you taught him from your world, all of which centered around love and the holidays. what other things would make this moment more perfect? the young man also goes to write you his own song as he performs it for you, french both naturally and lyrically intertwined within the words of his song. once he finishes his serenade, he takes off his hat as he places it against his heart, lowering his head in a bow fit for a gentleman.

"my only christmas wish is you, mon ange."

this huntsman truly does know how to make a person swoon, doesn't he?

♪— vil schoenheit subtly gives you a wink from the stage as he performs. with the winter season brewing, vil was set to perform for an event along with many other celebrities in twisted wonderland. he invites you along with other pomefiore students like rook to come watch as he sings and dances on the stage like a star you just couldn't bring yourself to turn away from. so obviously in his element, vil continues performing before he catches your eye looking at him from the audience and flashes you a quick wink. the wink was fast and fleeting, one second he was there glancing at you too, and then gone off to the other side of the stage the next. no one else had caught the sight of his wink your way as you stood there, concealing a smile as you returned to cheering and singing along as the image of vil smiling at you filled you with a certain type of joy.

✤— idia shroud tries his best to keep you warm. walking through the chilly temperatures of the outside, idia notices how your body seems to shiver, causing the generally isolated housewarden to glance at you with a look of concern as you both continue to walk. he debates with himself whether or not he should offer his jacket to you, the idea itself just making him shrivel up in embarrassment. what was this? some cringey shoujo manga? his mind is in conflict with itself as you two walk side by side in silence with idia's expression growing more and more furrowed as he anxiously thinks to himself. minutes pass by with you still silently shivering until idia shakily places his jacket on you. welp, yolo, idia thinks as he avoids the way you look back at him from the corner of his eye, the embarrassment all too much for him.

yolo, indeed.

♛— sebek zigvolt thinks he'd be good at ice skating. for one reason or another, you manage to challenge the boy at ice skating. and he proudly accepts. even though you both know that he has zero experience in skating. zero. it's amazing how you even managed to get this boy out of the rink without any fatal wounds as all he does on the ice skating rink is fall down rambunctiously and yell because he claims that you had another student "curse" the ice, causing him to fall down almost every two minutes. in reality, though, sebek just lacks any semblance of grace when it comes to the ice. he won't accept defeat from a mere human, however! no, no, no... you both will be staying there until sebek can successfully skate through the entire rink without falling! onward, human!

♛— silver makes the true magic of the holidays happen as he uses his magic to make a reindeer fly, just like in the stories you'd always tell him about your world. he knows that, in your world, those stories are merely fictional, but he wishes to show you something beautiful during your time in twisted wonderland. so, he makes a few of his woodland friends fly as he guides you into the forest he typically spends his time in, showing you sights you'd never seen before as you both hop onto the back of the reindeer and see the world in an entirely different point of view with silver and the reindeer guiding you through the stratosphere.

♛— lilia vanrouge catches you in a mistletoe "trap." you're completely caught off-guard as you search for him all over nrc after getting an ominous message from him reading only the word "help", making you rush through the entire school in search for your precious fae lover. you're speeding through the halls until the frightening, but still adorable, face of lilia suddenly pops up in front of you with a playful grin before promptly placing a light kiss to your forehead... all while he hung upside down as he held... what looked like mistletoe above both of your heads???

"i must say, (y/n), your world has very fun traditions. we should do this next year as well~"

you look at him at first with confusion until it registers in your mind as you see the familiar red and green plant in his hand.

wait. how did he get that in the first place-?

♛— malleus draconia showers you with gifts. constantly. all throughout december, malleus manages to give you more gifts than you have ever gotten your whole life. and he doesn't stop either. you can't even comprehend how he found the time to find all of these for you... or how he hasn't run out of gift ideas just yet. your dorm is almost overflowing with gifts just from him as you sort through piles of items and wrapping paper, the dorm looking even more disheveled as you attempt to organize the chaos. the instant he found out about the "season of giving," malleus made all of the effort to do just that. give, and give, and give, and give... you get the point. and it's only for you, of course. who else would the fae prince use this much effort for? only you.

Author's Note: I spent hours pondering how to make this work, but I came up with nothing that would make sense in terms of the movie. Thus, my rationale is that, if the multiverse details every single possibility and change, then magic has to exist in one of them, right? (Please just let me have this :']) Also, this headcanon is most likely the darkest one I've made so far. With great power comes great suffering, it seems.

At first, Miguel would try to find a way to use your magic to benefit him while determining your specialties and limits

Of course, those a part of the Shadow Wizard Money Gang Secret Society (SWSS) have to be exceptionally good at magic, so you're no exception

(Although, the society exclusively practices conjuration, transmutation, and necromancy magic because I don't see a Shadow Wizard society practicing things like divination or abjuration)

At the very least, if you refuse to use your magic to serve someone who is lesser than you, you'll just have to conjure random items that Spider-People need, such as a screwdriver or stepping stool

At most, if you're willing to be under Miguel's orders, you will be a semi-member of the Spider-Society, so you'll be brought on missions to aid in maintaining the order of the multiverse

On the off chance that Miguel has free time, he'll demand you see him so that he can witness you utilize your magic

Your universe's Spider-Man, if he is a part of Miguel's society, is internally cursing the entirety of the SWSS for causing him trouble outside of his universe

"Do you guys have to cause chaos in every location you're in?" Spider-Mage complained as he followed you around. As your universe's original Spider-Man, he was tasked to monitor you while you get comfortable at headquarters, though the two of you hated the idea of being in the other's presence.

"And do you have to be a wet carpet in every location you're in?" You quipped. "Spirits forbid you cast a minor transmutation spell! You might just upset the very order of magic with that one."

"I fail to see how using a shrinking spell to make Webslinger think his horse went missing is a 'minor transmutation spell,' but please enlighten me."

"I can't enlighten a fool who thinks size reduction is anything more than a minor spell. Inherent ineptitude isn't something that can be fixed immediately."

The moment he grasps the full scope of your abilities, including your necromancy ones, he'll start taking up more of your time until all of your days are spent with him

Granted, at this point it's not out of love, but so you can bring the family that he lost and was never able to get back no matter how hard he tried back

And he will force you to truly resurrect them, no matter the price

Diamonds? A body? Something holy? Something cursed? Anything you need, he'll provide it for you

You'll be confined to a solitary room until you get the spell right, unable to see anyone but Miguel when he provides you the materials to resurrect them

He can't afford you being distracted when the possibility of getting his family back is within reach

Unfortunately, the main component of true resurrection is that the soul of the person is willing to be brought back to life

Main problem? Only Gabriella is willing to come back, both of his wives meanwhile...

You can't even plead with them to come back, as Miguel doesn't have either wife's corpse

And he refuses to not have both his wife and child

So you're forced to stay in that cramped room and sleep on an uncomfortable mattress for longer, draining your energy repeatedly casting the same spell

With nothing grounding you to the present except for the buzzing of fluorescent lights, you started wondering how long it had been since Miguel quite literally dragged you to this small room in order to fulfill his deranged fantasies.

'Bring back my family,' he demanded from you as if you could just perfectly resurrect people at the press of a button, and even then, with his distasteful personality, you doubted the reunion would be all sunshine and rainbows.

However, you were starting to get desperate.

You didn't care how he was going to insane lengths to bring back his dead wife and daughter. You didn't care that the former individual didn't want to come back. You didn't care that he somehow was able to not only supply but continuously provide the materials you needed to cast the spell.

You just wanted to get out of this prison.

You couldn't stand the buzzing lights; the stiff spring mattress that reeked of body odor due to you not being able to shower; the putrid stench and humiliating sight of the toilet bucket, stripping you of your pride as a Shadow Wizard; the monochrome color scheme of this spirit forsaken cell that was exacerbated by the grey concrete walls all around you; the lack of being able to interact with anyone, save for the madman that brought you here; and the fact that you were only here to be exploited, to be treated like a tool that can be used whenever and however its owner pleases.

The screeching noise of metal against concrete stole your attention and forced you to look at the only person who would enter this miserable room.

"I have the needed materials."

You couldn't help but sneer at Miguel's statement. His straight-forwardness was refreshing at times, but in this situation, it infuriated you. He didn't even politely request that you cast a difficult spell or ensured that you were comfortable to do so. If only he knew that, back in your dimension, people would get on their hands and knees to beg you to cast a simple spell.

"What makes you think that your wife will allow herself to be brought back? She hasn't done it in the past, so what would make her change now? You might as well give up or settle for only Gabriella being resurrected," you reasoned. Hopefully, he still had enough sanity to know that what he wanted was a pipe dream. If he did, it would mean you would be able to be freed sooner.

"She might have finally come around to the idea that it's better to come back to her husband."

Rage almost compelled you to lash out at him. How easy it was for him to talk as if he was minorly inconvenienced by his wife's refusal when you were the one suffering because of it. Though, you reigned your anger in since you wanted to reduce the amount of time you had to spend in this place.

Miguel would eventually understand that achieving his dream was futile, and some vengeful part of you wished to see him break down in despair when he does.

His feelings for you only start to change once he realizes that, regardless of how many times you cast True Resurrection, neither of his wives will be willing to come back

Miguel is obviously devastated by these turn of events

Suddenly, he is much more aware of how lonely he was this entire time, and it's too much for him to bear alone

So he finds comfort in someone that has no choice but to provide him solace, you

Slowly, with each visit (or counselling sessions, basically), he grows fond of you

You are the only one who stood next to him when he was at his lowest (even if it was unwillingly)

In gratitude, you are let out of your room, but you're limited to the entirety of headquarters, nothing outside of it

He can't let you leave after you saw him when he was the most vulnerable he'd ever been since the loss of his second family; you were special

Eventually, the longer you stay by his side, his fondness for you grows into something else as he takes note of your interests, quirks, and minute features

"Miguel? Miguelllllllll. Are you even listening to me?"

Lyla appeared in front of the footage of you laughing with the other Spider-People as you demonstrated that you, too, were capable of shooting webs like them, forcing Miguel's attention to focus on her rather than you.

"Por el amos de Dios (for fuck's sake), what do you want, Lyla? I'm busy."

The woman gave him a stare that indicated that she didn't believe him. "Yeahhh, busy doing what exactly? Busy being a creep?"

"I'm busy monitoring the anomaly to ensure they don't interfere with the multiverse."

She scoffed, "You and I both know that they have no intention of doing so. If they did, they would've done it already, seeing as they have plenty of magic at their disposal. Obviously, you're stalking them out of your own self-interests."

Miguel glared at the hologram as he turned off the footage with a frustrated huff.

"I don't care what you think about me, but any word about this to anyone else, especially them, and I will erase you. Understand?"

All of Lyla's sass vanished faced with the man's glowing red stare that pierced through her being. Although she wished he was just bluffing, his tone clearly showed otherwise.

"...I understand." And with that, she disappeared.

This time, however, it's not to resurrect his dead family; it's to just spend time with him

Then it turns into full-fledged "dates" where he allows you to explore various dimensions under his supervision

Finally, you are forced to choose to have a microchip implanted in your body so that Miguel knows where you are 24/7; be magically bound to Miguel through a sacred ritual, courtesy of an intimidated Spider-Mage following orders; or stay by Miguel 24/7

Of course, the man does feel guilty for keeping you in the equivalent of solitary confinement

As a result, he is willing to bend the knee to you at times, giving into your demands as long as they aren't too "unreasonable"

He will spend the rest of his life atoning for what he did to you

Dedicates a space for you in his home where you can cast and experiment with as many spells as you desire

(It has cameras hidden in every nook and cranny in case you start dabbling in magic that'll take you away from him)

Absolutely melts inside when you start becoming less hostile/defensive towards him

(However, if your hostility doesn't stop, he'll simply remedy the issue by sneaking a love potion—once again, courtesy of Spider-Mage—into your drink)

Without fail, he takes a week-long break on your "honeymoon" every year, which usually involves visiting your home dimension

Speaking of your home dimension, the Shadow Wizard Secret Society (SWSS) initially doesn't take too kindly to one of their own being romantically involved with a magic-less person

But as the saying goes: if there's a will, there's a way

After a few choice threats and an offer to provide them with any needed materials, they're perfectly fine with Miguel

Though your colleagues pity you for being bound to such a lowly lifeform

Miguel loves seeing you cast magic and will even set aside some time for you to show him your power if you desire it

Secretly looks forward to watching you teach your future children magic

Gave you access to his desk, so you can also watch the Spider-People

Even allows you to be there while he discusses plans, mainly because Lyla likes having you there

(She sometimes begs you to demonstrate your magical prowess by having you animate objects into recreating the plan)

Will keep you in the dark about plans concerning individuals that could negatively influence you, specifically Miles and Hobie

Jealous of any creature you summon/conjure, even if it's to do a task; though, his jealousy intensifies if it's a humanoid

Goes through the effort of learning wizard customs (courtesy of Spider-Mage, like always)

All things considered, it was a normal day for you. You just spent hours watching movies that Miguel bought for you in his massive luxury apartment, and there weren't alarms about a rogue anomaly. The entire day so far was peaceful and uneventful, really.

And that made the alarms in your head go off.

Your thoughts were interrupted when your homunculus dropped right beside you on the couch with an excited chirp. With a smile, you pet your servant.

"So, is Miguel hiding something from me again?"

It tapped the cushion twice. Yes.

"I knew it," you sighed. "I wonder if it has something to do with Hobie again."

You got up from the sofa with a groan as you stretch, and your homunculus jumped down to join you. However, you picked it up and placed it back where it was.

"You'll have to stay here for now, Empanada. Wouldn't want the mean spider to know who gave away his plans."

The homunculus, Empanada (You honestly thought that it deserved a better name, but Jess jokingly suggested that Miguel would like it more if you named after something he liked), whined, but it ultimately laid down on a pillow, indicating that it wouldn't follow you.

With your homunculus out of the way, you closed your eyes and pictured the meeting area that you were familiar with as well as the empty chair that was reserved for you.

"Teleport."

Rather than feeling the soft cushions of your chair, you felt the sensation of falling from the sky, and when you opened your eyes, that was indeed the case since you teleported a good amount of feet above the ground. "Are you kidding me right now?"

Expectedly, the people in the room didn't anticipate your arrival.

"I didn't know that they could teleport!"

"Gwen, you didn't tell me that there was a Spider-Person that could come out of thin air!"

"Oh ho, that person is the last person Miguel would want to be here."

"Querido/Querida!"

Before you could cast another spell, you find yourself in Miguel's arms while he chided you.

"What are you doing here? You should be back at home!"

"Don't think I'm stupid, Mig. I know something's up when there's nothing going on."

"That doesn't mean you should cast such a dangerous spell!"

"Any wizard worth their salt knows how to cast a teleportation spell. Besides, it's only 'dangerous' if you're not skilled enough."

"...Mi vida, we're having a talk after this."

Miguel set you gently onto the ground, and you steadied yourself before you saw that there was a seemingly new addition to the Spider-Society, a Spider-Man who looked to be bleeding out of his armpits.

"You didn't tell me that you recruited a new Spider-Man, Miguel."

"That's because I didn't. I had Jess bring him here because he disrupted a canon event in Earth-50101."

"Lemme guess, someone was supposed to die, and he saved them, right?"

"It would be for the sake of the multiverse-"

"So you say. Anyways," you turn to the new Spider-Man, "what's your name?"

"Miles. Miles Morales."

There was something about him that made him stand out from the millions of people you've seen across your life so far. Even though you've never touched divination magic, you could tell that Miles was destined for great things.

And you wanted to be there to experience those things.

"Something tells me that you and I are going to get along real well, Miles."

the best ideas i have come late into the evening (3:00 to 5:00 am to be precise). i was going to do a modern wedding post (which i might do later). but i have been contemplating rewatching bridgerton s2 and this came into mind. so have a collection of bridgerton-esque regency era headcanons for the hotd cast!

the crowned heir to the targaryen dynasty. princess rhaenyra is expected to wed someone. anyone for that matter. her father just needs her to wed. so what better person than you, the diamond of the season? you’ve been crowned by her father. surely there is no one better? so she proposes a deal with you. you both pretend you are in courtship with one another so you may find your match and her father may get off of her back while she pursues someone else. it’s a fine deal to make with the princess, for sure. but what she did not expect so suddenly was for her to really fall for you. perhaps being wed to you was what she really wanted. and you did not expect her hungry kiss to land on your lips when you visited her amidst the late hours, but you accepted it. you gave into your true affections.

“i expected this to go nowhere. but i soon found myself looking forward to seeing you every day and talking and exploring the gardens with you. perhaps i was a fool for not choosing you seriously.”

the lady alicent has a reputation to uphold, for herself and for her family. so her father saw fit to introduce you two and propose a courtship to his daughter to your parents. they accepted with glee. you were...less than enthusiastic considering you would prefer to choose someone than have your parents choose. but you both had a duty to uphold with your sudden engagement. arranged marriages, you would come to find, were not so bad. there was common ground for you and alicent and soon she found herself looking forward to spending time with you. she forged a bond with you like no other and the two of you made love work.

to the disappointment of your sister, you were chosen as the diamond of the season. and immediately after, you were pulled aside by the queen herself where she proposed an offer to you: marry her son aegon. the proposal seemed...iffy at best and you understood how much your sister desired prince aegon. she wanted to marry him. however, refusing the queen’s proposal would make you a social pariah. out of courtesy, you accepted. neither of you two were happy to be in this arrangement. aegon in particular would make spending any time with him harder. he was always drunk, loud, vulgar. but never in front of your sister, thank heavens. you hoped by introducing your sister to him that he would just cheat on you so you may have a way out. but to your surprise, the infidelity never came. and aegon started sobering up. his arguments were clearer and he spoke with intent. but you found a sober aegon a lot more appealing and before you knew it, you felt strangely about him. you hated him. but at the same time, maybe you loved him. your devotion to your sister came first. and yet, aegon told you that maybe it was time to put your desires first.

an honorable man is aemond targaryen. he has seen many things, travelled the world and it has been a year since he returned. everyone wants aemond. they find him to be a much better match than his brother, aegon. it is, to your surprise, that he approaches you first with the offer of a courtship. the most desired man in all of the kingdom and he picks...you? well, it seems quite obvious at first as the diamond of the season. but as you talk to him more, you realize that your history with the prince goes further back than you expected. and among that includes saving him from drowning. he’s been in love with you ever since.

to be chosen as the diamond of the season was an honor. but you would not let other people dictate your fate, nor who you would want to wed. many people claimed helaena targaryen, the princess, was someone to avoid. many proclaimed her a spinster already. so she was genuinely surprised when you approached her in the garden, away from the ball. you told her you couldn’t breath and much preferred the solitude of the garden walls and fresh air. she smiled and told you how she liked the company of bugs. bugs were gentle creatures, particularly spiders. amidst your garden rendezvous, the two of you ended up close. it was quite a scandal, especially since someone (a suitor of yours that just kept persisting despite your clear lack of interest in marrying them) walked in on the two of you. they proclaimed helaena’s virtue tarnished when nothing happened. so you took responsibility by courting her and entering an arrangement for marriage.

despite his perceived illegitimacy, the prince jacaerys is still a prominent figure in court. many people aspire to reach him but he’s rather solitary. the world of nobility is stuffy and can be cruel to him, so he escapes elsewhere where bloodlines don’t matter. a concerned party, you follow him one night to walk into an unexpected boxing match with him. he comes out victorious and you being a very concerned person, decide to help patch him up. he’s surprised to see you, the diamond of the season. but he’s even more surprised that you keep his secrets and in fact, go with him. place a few bets every now and then. he finds you a lovely presence and soon realizes that if you are with him, then maybe he can deal with the stuffiness of the nobility.

The Moments In Between

Letting you know now, this story is probably the most canon I have written. This is not my OG Riley and Liam  and in this universe Liam and Riley did not spend the night together as all my other headcanon stories have them.  Liam has kept his emotional distance like canon.....which has invited the opportunity for Drake to make an appearance.

A/N: I’m sure this title has been used in fics before, so hopefully no one is offended by it, but I’m taking it from the Canon diamond scene. 

AN2:  This story actually came to my mind because of a conversation I had with @angelasscribbles as we were talking about Drake. I had thought then, that conversation would not give me any writing ideas, but SURPRISE!

To be honest, I wasn’t even surprised about how the trip was going being in Lythikos for Olivia’s tribute to Prince Liam.  The room she put me in was basically a refurbished broom closet, dinner was served to my table cold with portions of the entree missing.  

But what struck me and what did surprise me is that Liam didn’t notice, and never checked up on us, supposedly his true blue friends were all sitting at the neglected table and he didn’t even glance in our direction the whole evening.  

And not to mention….the kiss. He let her kiss him in front of the whole court. He genuinely appeared surprised when it happened, but everyone at the table, all their eyes were trained on me for a response.  I mean honestly, what could I say?  

Prince Liam is not my boyfriend, I’m a suitor in this game we’re all playing.  I am competing for a man that at this point has no true allegiance to me.

Nonchalantly I shrugged my shoulders.  “She went for it.  You know, she doesn’t usually get this much individual time with the Prince, so I can’t fault her for shooting her shot.”  

“You’re a lot calmer than I thought you would be, Brooks.”  

“I mean, these so-called 'noble' royals have been showing me who they are this whole time, I’d be a fool not to believe them.”  

“You deserve a drink Brooks,  meet up with me later, and we’ll find where the good stuff you like is stored in this keep.”  

“I really might have to take you up on that.”  

Liam finally cornered me for a brief moment, as I stood on the balcony letting the cool wind in a way revitalize me.  

“Are you angry with me for what happened?”

“No.”  

“I thought you might be.”  

“How can I Liam? you haven’t so much as stated any intentions you have for me, or of any feelings for me because you say, you can’t.  You have a duty to your people and I get that.  But don’t forget, all of us are “your people, and we are getting mistreated by some of these people that are supposed to be the “Nobility.”

“I heard about what happened to you all with your meals by the waitstaff, it’s very unfortunate.”

“You mean what they were told to do to us  by the Duchess of the Keep?”

Liam took his hands in mine.

“Let me make it up to you. Come meet me tonight.  My room has the most beautiful view of the Lythikos landscape and a wonderful hot tub that I have yet to want to use, but would love to enjoy it with you.”

Seriously Liam? That don’t impress me much. 

 I thought in my head.

“It’s been a really long day Liam.”  

Liam frowned for a moment.  His smile returned as he kissed my hand.  

“I promise you it will be relaxing, and I’ll keep my hands to myself, that is unless you want a massage.”

I felt my resolve wavering for a moment but then it recharged when I remembered all the bad treatment I had experienced while visiting in Lythikos thanks to the Scarlett Duchess herself.

“I’ll wait for you just the same.”  

“If I’m not too tired by the end of these festivities, I’ll definitely meet you.”

My mind  was already made up as I walked away from him.

That evening when I made it back to the cupboard under the stairs that was my room,  I freshened up a bit, and changed my clothes.  I had more than one choice and I had decided how I wanted to spend my evening.

And I feel like I made the right decision as when he turned around he genuinely looked surprised to see me.  

“Hey! I don’t have a date, so would you maybe want to be my plus one?”

“Brooks!  I didn’t think you would show.  I had heard Liam had invited you…”

“I could use that drink more, it’s been a helluva day.  This is how the working class unwinds, not in hot tubs and seeing glorious views of the Lythikos backcountry. If we’re being totally honest, the Lythikos backcountry can kiss my rounded backside.”  

Drake laughed.

“I hear that.  Sounds like you’re ready to start popping some bottles?”  

“Hell yeah I am!”  

I started going through the bottles of Wine in the cellar, when I noticed Drake wasn’t doing the same.  

“Aren’t you going to pick some too?”

“Naw, I brought my stash. This was more about you, I know today was a rough day for you.”  

Drake produced a silver and black flask with the Cordonian Crest on it.  

“I mean not really, people have been showing me their true colors since I got here.  And Liam, can’t be who he was when he was in New York here, at least not in public. So is that Whiskey? The third Level of your food group pyramid?”

“Hey if that’s the third level, what are the first two?”

“Isn’t it obvious?  Meat  is level one, Potatoes are level two.”

“You get me Brooks, and yes it’s Whiskey.”  

“So are you sharing that?”

“I can.  You know you’re really a lot different than I thought you were when we all first met in New York.”

“You should know not to judge a book by its cover Drake, as much as the Nobility of Cordonia are constantly judging you here.”  

“You’re different.”  

“No, I’m the same, you just didn’t see me for who I truly was before, and now you’re finally getting a glimpse.”  

Was Drake Walker blushing, and why was he staring at me that way?

“This is me relaxed, just being myself.  Not behaving like a trained dolphin for the cameras.  The moments in between where I get to be just Riley. You know, this is the most we’ve talked Walker, you’re not half bad.”  

Drake was staring at me as if he was in  some sort of trance, after a few moments he snapped out of it.  

“We should toast.  To the moments in between where we can relax and be ourselves, with no added pressure.”

He took a sip from the flask and held it out to me, right when I was about to grab it, he snatched it back.

“Pass it here, I don’t have mouth herpes or anything. Besides, the alcohol would kill the germs anyway.”

He looked to be weighing the validity of the idea in his head for a few moments and then came up to the resolution, nodding to me in agreement.

“Seems legit.”  

I held up the flask and before I drank, I smiled at Drake.

“To the moments in between.”

Imagine having a former Balrog as your husband

(I once watched the way of the house husband and thought something like this. Meet Tarion Urdil. I don’t have a headcanon introducing him yet, but I can do that later.) 

Warnings; finding a possibly dangerous man, adopting him, some domestic fluff, Tarion taking things literally, marriage pestering, creepy men, marriage, fluff, relationship growth.

-You met him on one stormy night. The thunder danced above you in a furious dance of lights and loud booming rumbles while you struggled to reach your home in the forest through the wind and the rain. 

-You were visiting family and didn’t expect the storm to get this bad, so you were soaked from head to toe by the time you finally got inside your house. Water dripped down from your coat, creating a puddle beneath you. 

-You slightly cursed, taking off your coat and tried to dry off while lighting up some candles to chase away the dark in your house. 

-You heard something on the other side of your house and then felt a brush of wind. 

-When you went to investigate and found your backdoor moving forth and back violently with the wind. You quickly closed it, preventing it from hitting walls any longer. The bellowing of the wind stopped, and the house was filled cold. It was so freezing that it was enough to make your skin shiver with goosebumps. 

-You wondered how the door was left open. You remember making sure all the doors were closed before you left. 

-You then noticed wet footprints on your floor. They were big and had something resembling six sharp toes. 

-They led you to the living room, and you half expected to find a big bear that possibly wandered inside, but instead– you found someone sitting near a corner. 

-He was tall, and his eyes glowed in the dark. 

-His long dark hair was dark as the night, and he had two large horns coming out from his head. You noticed a tail at the bottom of his feet, tucked around them like a cat wrapping its tail around its body. 

-He was covering himself in an old-looking cloak, which did little to cover the rest of his body and the scales that dressed his skin like armor. It was like looking into a skin embedded with black diamonds because they seemed almost glow from the light of your candle when you came closer and tried to get a better look at him. 

-He didn’t try anything when you got closer. He only stared back at you with those sharp eyes as you looked at him with curiosity and wonder. 

-He was a strange-looking man, and now — he is your husband. 

-You took him in after finding him in your living room. 

-He told you he thought the house wasn’t inhabited, so you didn’t mind him coming inside for warmth and cover. The storm outside was pretty bad. You gave him a warm blanket and made warm soup because he looked like he had not eaten a proper meal for some time.

-He seemed confused but kept the blanket and took the bowl. He called you a fool with no self-preservation instincts, and you just laughed in return because your family called you that too. Apparently, you don’t recognize danger when there’s one. 

-You then simply conversed with him at the fireplace. 

-He didn’t give his name, so you nicknamed him Tarion, which he didn’t seem to mind. 

-You allowed him to stay with you since he had nowhere else to go. You tried to help him get back on his feet since he looked like he was having a rough time. 

-Tarion seemed confused by your gestures but tried to appreciate them and even repay you by helping you with house chores. 

-It was silly to watch. Tarion confessed he had never done chores before, so he wasn’t sure how things worked. 

-He knew how to manage a broom, so he was mainly stuck brushing the floors from dust. It was funny to watch him struggle with a broom that was so tiny compared to him. 

-He avoided doing dishes or anything that required the use of water. He would glare at it and stay on the other side of your house than touch water. When you asked him why, he told you he had a bad experience with water, so he preferred to avoid getting wet.  

-While you understood him, you wondered how he would clean himself if he got dirty.

-You gave him some of your father's old clothes since he was tall and you didn't have anything else to fit him.

-It was troublesome to get the shirt on him because of his horns and scales, but you made it work with your tailoring skills. You only made a deep cut in the pants for his tail, and he was all dressed up. 

-He seemed uncomfortable wearing clothes. They looked tight, so you half expected them to rip up, but then some of his scales dropped on the floor. You were worried as Tarion seemed shocked, but then you observed as the clothes loosened up and hugged him better. 

-You asked if he was alright and if it was normal for his scales to drop down out of nowhere. He assured you he was fine and only showing more skin after the scales fell off. 

-He didn’t know why it happened, but the clothes felt more comfortable, so he was okay with it. 

-After the incident was forgotten, Tarion tried helping you cook dinner to thank you for the clothes. It was silly to see a tall man like him hover over you, trying to follow your instructions while trying not to cause a mess with his clawed hands. You could only chuckle when he accidentally broke the eggs in his fingers and kept hissing at the pot of boiling water like an angry cat. 

-He was surprisingly good at using a knife. When you asked him to cut the vegetables, he cut them into perfect pieces in a matter of seconds, all in good slices and portions. 

-You were impressed enough to ask if he could teach you how to cut things like that. 

-When you had to leave for errands, you told Tarion he could do anything he liked and maybe watch over the house since thieves and bandits were common. You preferred not to get robbed at this time of your life. 

-He only gave you a nod, and you left. 

-You were worried about leaving him alone since you didn’t have any weapons in your house, but all your doubts vanished when you heard a word about some thief yelling about a monstrous man living in the woods. 

-Your local village was not kind toward thieves, so his words were unheard, and he got taken to the local prison. 

-You were worried since you lived in the woods and Tarion had horns and a tail, so there was a possibility the thief was talking about him. 

-After making that conclusion, you hurriedly returned to your house. You feared for the worst but were relieved to find Tarion unharmed. He was casually sitting by a big bonfire, poking the flames with his hand. 

-When you told him about the rumors, he told you a couple of thieves tried to break in and steal your valuables. You asked him to watch over your home, so he took necessary precautions to dispose of them properly. 

-You then noticed what seemed to be a human finger next to the fire and realized it was not wood he was burning. 

-And that’s why you made him watch over your home ever since. He took things…a little seriously, so you told him to just kick the intruders out the next time it happened. No need for bloodshed, or people might question.

-You enjoyed Tarion’s company. He wasn’t very talkative– but he assured you he didn’t mind listening to you ramble about your day or things that interested you. 

-He pretty much followed you around like a giant puppy. You even took him to see the village one day. It surprised him that the people didn't seem to mind his presence, and you explained they had seen stranger things, so his existence was not that big of a deal. 

-You liked how long his hair was, so he allowed you to braid it while chatting about random things. He would have to sit between your legs to reach his hair, and he didn’t mind, even finding your fingers going through his hair oddly pleasant. 

-When you asked what kind of creature he was, he decided to reveal he was a Maiar which got you a bit excited, and you asked more about it. 

-He stayed quiet like he was hesitant to reveal anything. You wondered if you made him uncomfortable, so you apologized for your intrusion. 

-He pulled himself away and revealed he wasn’t one of the righteous Maiars who served the Valar. He was a balrog, which explained the horns, the scales, and the tail. He was a creature of darkness and fire, meant to bring despair and destruction upon the orders of his master. 

-He was a part of the attack upon the elves in the hidden city of Gondolin. Something went wrong, and he got cast into the great river, which forced him to change into the form he was in right now. He was then carried away and found his way to your home after escaping the river's clutches.

-He apologized for keeping such a secret, especially when you showed him kindness he had never experienced before in his life. 

-You stood quiet and then smiled. Even though Tarion was supposed to be evil incarnate, you didn't feel any resentment. He had been good to you than most people, and you enjoyed having him around. 

-Tarion didn’t know what to say when you told him that. He could only stare at you with wonder in his eyes. 

-You then asked for his real name. 

- “I was known as Dur — but my birthname is Urdil,” He said. 

- “A friend of fire? Now that is a nice name. It suits you,” You smiled. 

-You asked if you could call him that, but then he asked you to keep calling him Tarion since he had grown fond of the name while living with you. 

-You grew closer after that discussion. Tarion became gentler and learned to control his strength. He even brushed off his dislike of the water to help you with chores.

-It warmed your heart to watch him want to improve and witness his willingness to help you. It was like he wanted to become better to make up for his past mistakes. 

-He even began to smile when you joked around and talked about things that made you happy. He even began revealing something about himself and what he was like before his corruption. 

-Seeing him like this made you wish in your heart– that he could stay with you. 

-Now – how did he end up as your husband? 

-It started when your family pestered you about finding a husband and settling down to start a family. You were not keen on the idea because there were still things you wanted to do before considering marriage. 

-However, your family was persistent. They even tried introducing you to people they picked out for you without your knowledge. It was getting really frustrating. 

-You came back home angry one day. You slammed the door shut and cursed like a sailor after yet another meeting with a man set to ‘woo’ you like your family liked to call it. 

-It did not end well. The man was creepy, way too forward, and touchy with you. You bailed out after he tried to discuss names and future professions for your possible children. 

-You wanted to scream and consider staying inside your house for the rest of your life and becoming a crazy cat lady– even cats would have more respect for you than that man and your family. 

-Tarion came to check on you after hearing you barge in and curse words even he didn’t have in his store. 

-You explained your current marriage problem with your family and how they keep picking the worst men possible to marry you. 

-You feared they might force you to marry someone after getting tired of your constant rejections, and you end up living a life in misery – married to someone you might never learn to love. 

-Tarion stood quiet, watching and listening as you vent your frustration and despair about the future. He then broke the silence by suggesting you marry him instead. 

-Your face went red, but you kept your composure and asked for the reason for his sudden proposal. 

-He briefly explained how you two already knew each other and how he stays at home most of the time. He respects your independence, so he would not force you to do anything you didn’t like, and your family would finally stop their inconvenient pestering. 

-You liked the idea, so you ended up agreeing to it. 

-You did ask him if he was willing to commit to such a relationship. He told you he was ready to do anything to repay your kindness and acceptance, be it taking a knife for you or doing a thing called marriage. 

-He said it with such nonchalance that you weren’t sure he truly knew what marriage was about, and there was your mortality to be considered since he was a Maiar, a being who can live thousands of years. 

-When you brought it up to him, he said he was still willing to do it. He would even stay with you till it was time for you to depart from the living world.

-It made you silently happy after he said that.  

-So, you went with the plan and decided to marry with a little ceremony with just your friends without your parents knowing because you did not want to risk them rejecting the marriage since Tarion was not a human. 

-They were not pleased when they heard about it and absolutely freaked out when you brought Tarion to meet them. They were terrified of him but they didn’t dare say anything and allowed you to go on with your life. That’s how you ended up married to your balrog husband.

-You were thrilled when you got home. You were finally free from your family’s obnoxious pestering. You were so excited you pulled Tarion down to give him a kiss on the cheek. 

-He was caught off guard and stood frozen when he felt your lips against his skin. Some of his scales dropped on the floor due to his shock. 

-You apologized to him when you saw his reaction and noticed his scales falling off again. You thought you broke him when he didn’t respond, but he recovered and assured you it was fine. 

-You had dinner, went to sleep, and your life continued as always. 

-However, Tarion had decided to take his role as a husband seriously and began to learn things while you went out for errands and hobbies. 

-He always had dinner ready, and the house would be clean. You wouldn't have anything else to do, so you would spend the rest of the time with him, talking and braiding his hair. It had become a relaxing little habit. 

-Tarion always liked to listen, but you started to notice happy little signs when you were around him. He might not notice, but his tail sometimes moves around back and forth when he sees you, like with a happy cat. He always gave you a gentle look whenever you looked at him and put effort into improving his cooking skills to make your favorite food. 

-You began to wonder if he did all the chores so you would have more time to spend with him. 

-The thought made your heart swell in adoration and you couldn’t help but fall more in love with him. 

-You thought about confessing to him but you were worried he might not feel the same since the marriage was just his suggestion to save you from your family’s pestering. 

-However, when you thought about your time together and how much he had changed around you. You decided to muster the courage to confess to him during one of your relaxing times together. 

-You were sitting on the couch, talking and braiding his hair like usual. You stopped braiding his beautiful hair and asked if he knew how much you enjoyed his company. He turned to look at you and listened as you explained how things had changed and how you had grown to care about him more than a friend. You then told him you loved him and waited for his reaction. 

-Tarion was quiet for a moment before he kneeled before you and explained how he had grown to appreciate life when he met you. In the past he never cared and did what his former master Morgoth ordered him to do, but now he wanted to enjoy life and the little things by your side. 

-He then gave you a kiss on the back of your hand. “I will be yours to the end— my beloved,” he said as he looked into your eyes with all gentle seriousness. 

-Your eyes filled with tears of happiness. You two shared your first kiss, and your marriage became official. 

-Tarion became ten times more gentle with you and even followed you around when you went out together.

-The villagers didn’t think much of him. They were happy as your marriage seemed thriving. 

-Ever since you started sleeping on the same bed together, you refused to sleep alone. Tarion was so warm during the cold nights– so you always latch on to him like a little koala. 

-Tarion too became clingy in a way. He likes to hold you in his lap when you talk or read together on the couch. Occasionally, you enjoyed napping on him because he was comfortable. 

-Since you were never afraid to hold his clawed hands, he enjoys holding your hand.

 -Sometimes– you like caressing his horns when braiding his hair and enjoy hearing him make purr-like sounds. 

-You were convinced he was indeed a big cat. In some way, you truly had become the cat lady you once dreaded to be your future. 

-For some reason, though, he started losing more scales. You thought he was ill, but he then said that he didn’t feel ill 

-You later noticed he was changing physically. 

-He was starting to look less like his former self with each scale he lost. He used to be covered from head to toe but now there were only scales around his hands and feet. 

-Even his hands and feet were changing. His claws were becoming smaller, and his fingers more slender. Even his tail was becoming shorter. 

-Tarion then came up with a theory that he was changing because he gave up on his old ways and embraced something new and good— he was starting to look like what he used to before his corruption into a balrog. 

-You were glad he was not ill. If he had not found his way to your home and met you, he would have most likely died alone in the shadows of a cave. 

-You embraced each other and hoped your happiness would last long.

- Okay so, Reader and heister are already dating and they match pretty well

- They've been assigned to do the diamond (garnet) heist together bc they can blend in as a couple

- But just before the heist they have a fight

- (It was over some misunderstanding idk)

- Heister says something kinda rude and readers rlly offended

- So they're like 'clearly you need time to cool off so I'll just go on my own'

- Heister's like 'Fine go on ur own >:/' bc the heist is stealth and it should be easy

- But what they don't know is that an unknown rival group already knew that they were going and ambush the place with reader inside

- Heister's waiting for reader to come back as they scroll through channels on the TV

- He sees the news and it shows that there was a massive attack on the building reader was heisting on

- He rushes to the building to see the building surrounded by police tape + cops, ambulances and so on

- He sneaks inside to see partygoers still in the place, all of them shaken up and evacuating

- He asks if they saw someone (reader)

- One of them just says 'I saw someone that looked like that. They were fighting the criminals.... now....' and they point over to a smashed window with some blood surrounding it

- Heister's heart sinks into his stomach as he walks over and looks down from the smashed window

- As he looks over the edge he just sees reader

- Or what's left of them

- Yeah.... they were pushed off

Dallas

So basically this mf is overworking himself as always

When you try to get him away from his desk for the heist he kinda just snaps at you

Even if you continue to try and pull him from his work, he just continues to push you away

So you end up leaving him to his work and go on the heist alone, in which he kinda just dismisses you

Later on, he ends up finishing his work, but he notices a headline on the news just as he’s about to close his computer

Dallas took a minute before it finally clicked

The Garnet group building was ambushed

And you were in there

First was panic, and he immediately got Bile to pick him up and drop him off at the roof of the building while under the disguise of law enforcement

Among the partygoers who were fleeing and screaming for their lives, he tried desperately to look for you, but he couldn’t seem to spot you

Eventually he managed to find an injured partygoer, whom he asked about your whereabouts

This partygoer said that you put up a big fight with the ambushers, but you ‘didn’t come out on top’

When Dallas asked tor clarification, the person pointed towards a shattered window. There didn’t seem to be much, but it was the minuscule blood splatters that struck fear

He wasted no time rushing over, peeking over the edge and praying that he wouldn’t see what he thought he would see

But alas, it was exactly what he thought

You were on the roof of an adjacent building attached to the Garnet tower, your blood spread across its surface in such a beautiful yet horrifying manner

His heart seemed to sink upon seeing this, and he wasn’t even paying attention to the fact that he was nearly about to fall off of the edge

It was only when the rest of the Payday gang arrived on the scene, to retrieve Dallas and finish off the heist at hand

Luckily, Dallas managed to get a breather when he was taken back to the safe house, but he still was in shock

Surely it was an elaborate prank, right? You’ll walk in all fine and give him a kiss on the cheek while telling him you were okay… right?

Well, his despair seemed to grow when the others came back, but you were nowhere to be seen

He ends up feeling so awful for pushing you away that he ends up slacking on his own work and avoids doing heists, ESPECIALLY heists that have to do with diamonds or gems

Sometimes he would wake up and expect to see you next to him, but he would end up remembering that you’re not there and he’d cry himself back to sleep

He’s no longer allowed to do any mission that involves heights, because the crew knows damn well that he might have a panic attack, or worse, jump off the ledge

Dallas never recovers from this state, and he ends up leaving the Payday gang as a result of it

He still keeps your belongings and does his best to preserve them as much as possible, leaving them untouched like memories locked in its place

He basically turns into a hikikomori, withdrawing from pretty much everything and becoming a fucking mess

Hoxton

So y’know how Hector ratted Hoxton out?

Well this takes place before they find out, and he’s still extremely pissed about the fact that someone fucked him over

He’d spent every bit of time trying to figure out who the hell it was, and even when he gets a break, he still always talks about it

You tried to pull him away from it by offering up a diamond heist, but he dismissed you

However, unlike Dallas, he lashed out at you the second time you tried to offer, saying that he was too busy to deal with the likes of you

You just huff and turn on your heel, saying that you’ll go on your own if “he was going to be such a whiny bitch about it”

Hoxton was about to yell at you again because of your insult, but you were already out the door

A few hours pass, and Dallas speaks up from his desk

“Uh- Hoxton? I think you might wanna look at this.”

Hoxton finally seems to be drawn away from his investigation, as Dallas’s concerned tone caught his attention

The second he saw the headline, Hoxton wasted no time getting his equipment ready so that he could not only see if you were okay, but kick the shit outta the ambushers in question

After pestering Bile for a minute or two, he finally found himself in the Garnet building, searching frantically for you

In his panic, he ends up bumping into a civilian and he desperately asks about your whereabouts

The civilian pointed towards the shattered window, and Hoxton rushed towards it so fast that he nearly tripped on himself just as he made it to the ledge

When he saw your corpse laying almost peacefully on the now blood-coated concrete, he nearly had a heart attack

He called your name several times, but there was no answer, nor was there any movement from you

Hoxton continued calling your name, desperately hoping that you would wake up

But as he was dragged away by the rest of the gang, who had just arrived on the scene, he finally realized that you were truly gone

Once that part clicked, he went into full on anger, literally fucking incinerating any cop that got in his way as him and the rest finished the heist

He continued to express this aggression, on anyone and anything he could. It reached to the point where Aldstone couldn’t even let him in the safe house because he was wrecking shit like there was no tomorrow

And it sure as hell felt like there was no tomorrow, at least not in his eyes

His life was over now that you were gone. All of the plans he had, thrown away like garbage

And there was no one else to blame but himself, yet he refused to believe it

He was in so much denial, that he even tried to blame you for your own death. Yet deep inside, he was beating himself up for not accompanying you

Perhaps if he had just listened to you, you’d still be waking up next to him, or holding his hand, or even just talking to him

He missed you. Every last part of you.

Looking at anything that even remotely reminded him of you filled him with sorrow and rage, so much to the point where he tries to destroy it

But he can’t destroy those memories, he held them too dear, but they hurt so much

There was only one way to get rid of them

And the price of it was his life

Houston

Houston absolutely hates it when a single mistake is made during a stealth heist

Knowing a lot of heists that have gone loud after a failed stealth, he decided to make a very elaborate plan for this heist in particular, as he wanted to make sure that it went perfectly

Unlike the rest of these, the two of you managed to make it to the heist without fighting

It was only during the heist when the two of you started to argue

You wanted to keep talking with the partygoers to keep them distracted while Houston went ahead to start the process of hacking the laptops for the vault's code

However, it went against his plan, making him frustrated

He didn't want to protest too much with you, so he just left you to do whatever

The rival gang eventually intruded, causing everything to go to shit just as he was hacking into one of the laptops

It was only when he heard the sound of screaming and glass shattering when he finally snapped out of his initial anger

Getting his weapons out, he went to go and look for you, calling your name, only to recieve nothing

Due to the small talk that had popped up beforehand, one of the civilians recognized the name, pointing towards the very broken window that had pulled him out of his angry daze in the first place

He peaked over the edge and his heart dropped

His plan, not even Houston himself, was prepared for the possibility of seeing your corpse splattered on concrete

Houston eventually fled, as he knew that if he stayed long, he wouldn't make it out alive

However, even so, he didn't even know if he wanted to make it out alive

All of his planning, all those hours thinking just to make sure that both you and him made it out safely

It all amounted to nothing

He was trying to rethink every step of the plan, every moment of that heist

Houston was trying to find some sort of loophole or way to predict and prevent the events from happening

He spent months doing this, but it was futile

Nothing could predict that rival gang's assault, nothing could predict your untimely fate

And nobody could predict the way he reacted after coming to terms with the truth

Sokol

You didn't have any ill intention when you said this

Sokol had asked how you would feel if he left the Payday gang to return to hockey, and you said you wouldn't mind

You said this because you didn't want him to be held back by the job if he doesn't enjoy doing it

However, he didn't interpret that part, resulting in him getting angry

After nearly punching you in the face, you retreat to go on the heist that you were assigned to, but you had to go alone instead of with Sokol like you intended

It took a while before Sokol cooled off, and just as he was about to go and join you, Sydney stopped him

He was confused as to why Sydney was so persistent on making sure that he didn't go, but he was just as persistent on heading to the Garnet Group building

Sokol seemed to panic when he saw SWATs storming the building and civilians rushing out

What happened?

Sokol rushed his way inside, careless about the law enforcement officers telling him not to.

He looked everywhere for you, hearing the distant noises of chaos from the roof above.

Sokol was about to call up Bain when he registered the broken window, blood staining the glass

He hurriedly made his way over, and his eyes couldn't believe the sight before him

He saw you, laying motionless on the concrete with blood spread across its surface

He wanted to break down then and there, tears streaming down and some even dripping down onto roof below that you were dead on

However, Sokol knew you would want him to stay strong, and so he did

He proceeded with the heist, alone, and he even managed to get rid of the rival gang who had your blood on their hands

Afterwards, Sokol returned to the Payday gang, and he proceeded with his jobs as per usual

Even after all of it came to an end, when he moved to Cyprus with friends and family, he couldn't help but think about you

He had you on his mind all the time, and just the thought of you was his whole reason of staying alive and pushing forward

Sokol never got over you, but he knew that if he were able to see your face, even if it was for one last time, he would see you smiling and telling him how proud you were of him

He wanted to create a life that he wished he could share with you, even though your own was cut short by the incident

The image of your bright smile is what got him up in the morning to try and make changes for the better, for both himself and the world

It was what you would've wanted

Jacket

So y'know how in Prison Nightmare, you can hear faint lines expressing the greatest fears of some of the heisters?

Well, one of those biggest fears for Jacket happens to be his tape recorder running out of batteries. No wonder he spends a fortune on them!

Whether it be because it would either force him to talk or render him unable to communicate, he's terrified of his tape recorder running out of batteries mid-heist. He always makes sure to have a fresh pair.

Today was a little different, but this difference was HUGE to Jacket

For some reason, he couldn't find his stash of spare batteries, and his tape recorder was starting to run low

He searched frantically, looking high and low for those batteries, but they never turned up. He couldn't even find any stray ones lying around

You were just about ready to go on the heist, but Jacket was nowhere near prepared

He didn't even pay attention to you when you called his name, or when you walked into his room to tell him that the two of you had to go

Jacket was so invested with finding his batteries, not responding to you. Not even in sign language.

You eventually left due to Twitch's nagging, as well as the fact that you were just fed up that Jacket couldn't at least put his search on hold for until the two of you got back

Eventually, Jacket found his battery stash [which was hidden by Sokol underneath one of the staircases], and he managed to relax

He thought he would be able to hop in on the heist to help you out, but when he arrived, he wasn't expecting to see SWAT units all over the place and a few civilians running out of the building

Thinking that he would be able to make it through even if caught by the authorities, he snuck his way in, his confusion growing upon seeing the mess of the building. What happened here?

Eventually, one of the civilians who was running away stopped by him, grabbing his arm as if to try to encourage him out.

"What are you doing!? C'mon! We gotta get outta here!"

When Jacket expressed confusion once more, the civilian went from worry to anger as they said:

"Fine! If you wanna end up like that bitch then go ahead! I'm outta here!"

When they said this, they gestured towards the broken window before making a sprint for the exit. Curious about what this civilian was talking about, Jacket made his way towards the shattered and somewhat bloodied window.

His heart seemed to drop upon seeing your corpse splattered against the roof of the shorter building below.

Despite having his tape recorder, it felt as if he couldn't communicate or even call out to you. He wanted to scream, hoping that you would hear, but everything was stuck in his throat as he tried to comprehend the image before his eyes.

Surely... this was a nightmare... right?

It was so unreal to him, he could barely even feel his palms sliding slowly off of the glass-sprinkled edge.

He wondered if this was all a bad dream and that when he woke up, you'd be next to him and sleeping peacefully.

Well,

He would be disappointed by the answer by the time his head hit the concrete next to you.
