I enjoy the implication in Origins that Zevran isn't a very good fighter when we meet him and then after Origins he was utterly terrorizing the Crows. All the levels he gained in the Warden's party actually made him a canonically, significantly more dangerous fighter than he was when the Warden met him.

#the game does do a fun job of justifying why the companions are - while much more capable than the average peasant - low level at first #Alistair has only been a Warden like 6 months and didn't finish Templar training before that #Morrigan has powerful magic but has been isolated in the wilds with her much more powerful mother to take care of things #Sten is a trained warrior but he was nearly killed. still managed to murder a family. then spent 20-30 days in a cage with no food or water #Leliana is a skilled Bard but she could either be rusty from hiding out in a cloister for a while or hiding some of her skills #Wynne is a senior enchanter and by the time you can actually recruit her you're probably at least like lvl 6 or 7 #so she's no pushover when you actually see her do stuff. and could be even stronger if she didn't just recover from dying #Oghren is usually prooobably the last recruited bc Orzammar is meant to bounce low level players off and send them elsewhere #he is the companion most likely to be met at higher levels so it makes sense that he's an ass-kickin warrior when you meet him #though again he might be a little weaker if you came earlier and the fact that he's been banned for a while from fighting #and has instead just been sitting around getting wasted accounts for that #radio chatter

#photo diary #1 - love this image of Noodle.. such a weird angle that makes his head look entirely round like a puff ball or something #2 - a more recent (still from months ago) collection of my pressed flowers and 4 leaf clovers I found.#3. Being one of the only people in 2024 still going 'hee heee I've just bought a new wii game!' but.. I have. >:3 #It's kind of like Wii Sports Resort but is like.. open world? so your character can actually walk around and stuff. REALLY makes me #wish I had the type of set up where I could record video from my wii and stuff like some gaming youtubers have. I think it'd be a really #fun game to play on video and to DOCUMENT it!!! I keep wishing I could screenshot my little guy walking around but I caaant..#I've literally just been taking out my phyiscal camera and photographing the screen which always looks bad.. augh..#4. Something in the froxen food aisle called 'Wellington Bites' a play on beef wellington. suprisingly good actually. but I guess anything #with like beef and mushrooms usually is. But it seems like.. oddly decent for frozen food stuff.#5 - boye looking Round again.. 6 - updated score in the wii fit minigame again. I had stomach surgery Thursday and it’s fine, it was planned, I feel fine, I don’t want to get into it. But I am off work and on a liquid diet for three weeks so I want to be able to liveblog any complaints I have whilst bored at home.

For example I just realized there’s no fucking reason for me to have my toaster plugged in.

it's still surreal to me in reading that my dad has passed. like...he's always been sick. had heart and kidney failure so there was the inevitable fact that he wouldn't live as long but...to have his time be this soon... see, he's always gone thru life just...living. yeah, he's had his bad days, days where he would just feel off and not up for the day

but still...he would always be there for us. always spent time with us, talk to us about our days, what he's found out on the internet ( he was old school so the advancing technology always fascinated him ). he even made various dinners from recipes that he's found online. he did all this despite being so ill

and now he's gone. christ, i can't even remember what my last words were to him -- i even have this guilt that cuts deep because i didn't ride the ambulance with him to the ER. we just thought it was gonna be another visit there, where they would give him fluids and medicine to get right back up, then he'll come back home

sometimes when playing ark you completely forget about something you’ve read.

I finally build a nice little enclosure for all (I think it’s around this number) 30 dodos. I put a feeding trough in and fill it up. I set everyone to passive flee, wandering, disabled mating.

I take a quick step outside to grab something, come back, look up in horror at all the mating hearts floating above the enclosure. I completely forgot that you can’t turn off mating when they’re wandering, and that they automatically mate when they wander.

so I guess I’m gonna have to deal with that tomorrow (use the resulting eggs to make kibble)

pink/rock with heart beet in main ranch, a silo, beet farm, and odd onion farm all in the main area

tabby/phosphor and boom/rad in the cave with gardens of their respective favorite food and a silo

crystal/honey with mint mango as favorite food and a silo in the forest'y part of the range

quantum in the lab with a phase lemon I found in a box~~~ and 2 silos~~

can ya ever have enough storage?

its about time for the wilds~~~ and watching some other people play slime rancher and explore there, I wonder if I'm good enough at the game to survive there and find the teleport back? cause apparently only 3 work and it's random.

and there are feral slimes everywhere~~ seems like a good reason to make tarr intentionally, lol

the wilds scares me~~~

gonna do hunter/mossaic with it's favorite food, mix quantum with saber when I get a plort or 2, and dervish//tangle with their favourite food when I get that far~~~

the ancient ruins are really neat~~~

and all the free range chickens I have on my main ranch is starting to screw with my frame rate, lol.

any tips for the wilds? or just jump in and try not to die and lose all my stuff?
