i feel like people are skimming over the uk riots in a way that makes me want to tear my hair out. muslims in the uk are in active danger. immigrants in the uk are in active danger. refugees in the uk are in active danger. people of colour in the uk are in active danger. asian communities in the uk are in active danger. black communities in the uk are in active danger.

there are massive far right riots throughout the country right now and people like fucking elon musk and nigel farage are inciting it and still have a platform to speak. people have used three young girls deaths, people's genuine grief in southport, to try and gain traction for their own racist bullshit and it's working.

a lot of refugee charities have been forced to close leaving many people without support, homes, funding, food, etc. if you aren't able to donate please consider sending a message via the conversation over borders campaign! it will send a hopeful, welcoming letter to a refugee in the uk. there is also a guide to staying safe here.

please do your own research and donate to refugee charities, anti-islamophobia charities, mosques who are trying to rebuild after being destroyed, counter protesters, here are some i've heard positive things about but the list is extensive; southport strong together (support for the southport victims and their families), southport mosque rebuilding, riot repair fund, middlesbrough vulnerable residents, nasir mosque rebuilding, hull help for refugees, bristol welcomes migrants,

toji furrows his brows, unable to remember the last time someone other than him had given his son this kind of affection. most of the time the people he dated looked at megumi with disdain, seeing him as an unfortunate add on rather. but not you, the second you saw megumi your eyes shone, you were elated to meet the little boy.

"... okay," he mumbles, still deep in thought.

"well don't sound too grateful," you tease, kissing his cheek and joining him on the couch, "you alright?"

"yeah just... can't remember the last time i wasn't the only one worried about the brat."

he pictures megumi's face, how his eyes brighten and he doesn't just smile, he laughs when you're around. toji's eyes soften and he can't help but grin at the thought. megumi loved you for sure and so did toji.

it hit like a ton of bricks as he stared at you. you were rambling on about something or other but he couldn't here a thing. only seeing the slope of your nose and curve of your lips. he didn't think he'd ever be able to fall in love again... not after his first wife died. but here you were, waltzing into his life and taking care of both him and megumi. loving them both so easily...

he bliinks stupidly, his face going blank.

"huh?"

you laugh, that sweet precious laugh of yours pulls at his heart.

"i was asking if we should take megumi to the new water park tomorrow. i think he'd love it."

toji swallows hard then nods.

"yeah... yeah i think thats a good idea."

today on the train home the guy next to me was on his phone and at one point i saw him go on tumblr and he just had like. a normie dash. like it was all photography. of nature and architecture. he was using tumblr the way a heterosexual landscaper for rich people might use instagram. i actually had to watch his screen for a few seconds to be sure it really was tumblr because i was so taken aback by the content he was viewing. this is why algorithmless websites are so beautiful btw because i genuinely didn't know that this side of tumblr even existed. he didn't even so much as scroll past any text posts.

EDIT: look i'm not going to turn off reblogs but i cannot stress enough that THIS WASN'T A HIPSTER BLOG DASH IT WASN'T AN AESTHETIC BLOG DASH IT WAS THE MOST WILDLY GENERIC COLLECTION OF IMAGES YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YOUR LIFE.
