What a way to close this chapter. Thank you @folkeast for being absolutely extraordinary. The most wonderful, generous, attentive audiences, it was such a pleasure to play for you. The last decade has been such an amazing adventure, thank you all for coming out to support us, for listening, for making it possible. You can still keep in touch online! We will still be producing music and content for our subscribers (over on @bandcamp ) and we have lots of new songs we're working on. So, we'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when... 😥🥰 Rather emotional on stage yesterday but excited for our next chapter! 📷 @jonwilksmusic #edgelarks #endofanera #folkeast #folkeast22 #duo #takingabreak #missyoualready (at Glemham Hall) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChjojTsMayn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

folkeast festival. soapbox stage. twothousandsixteen.
my experience at ‘folkeast festival’. the making of a beautiful memory. this year i not only shamefully attended my first ever festival. but it was also my first experience performing at one too. the nerves set in a few days before. i was sat at home enjoying a glass of wine with my better half binge watching ‘Rupauls Drag Race’ when suddenly my stomach twisted. oh fuck. i have to perform. say words to a crowd of faces. place my feet into a terrain i hadn't been in for around a year. i went through phases of fear and comfort throughout the days that followed. from tight knots of panic to riding the comfortable wave of confidence. realising that everyone there is a part of something more. that this should be seen as community. a collective of poets. a gathering of people wanting us to do well. this emotional yin and yang seesaw stuck with until I stepped off stage. though petrified as soon as i arrived to the stage the atmosphere washed me calm. the artists before me were so good. so at ease. so in the moment. each one bidding farewell to their performance only to be met by a roar of applause and cheers. i felt safe. my name was then announced. shit. the calm was hijacked. i stepped up upon the platform my mouth dried as my tongue tried escaping it responsibility to deliver my words. up until this moment i had only performed spoken word three times. only one of them times were a clear run through. only once have i not ballsed this up. both poems folded in my back pocket like a parachute. a safety net I hoped not to use. i tripped only subtly but found my footing quickly. never having to reach back and fumbled for my paper shield. each face was gazed upward toward me each one filled with kindness and support. they chuckled in all right places. i managed to pull it off. i didn't fuck it up. i stepped off of the stage and was quite literally greeted with open arms. people pleasantly feeding me compliments. telling me i had done a good job. sentiments that i don't know how to place yet. i felt achieved. proud. i was surrounded by an abundance of soft souls and warm words. each person as delightful as the last. i looked back as usual confused at my previous worry. it was a beautiful experience and i will not forget this gift that Amy (the organiser) has given me and Johnny the gentle man who introduced me to her. the night end for me connecting with some of the beautiful people i have ever had the chance of meeting. talking an array of subjects. no judgements. no jealously. only kindness. only love. only us. thank you folkeast. you made me feel welcomed. like i belonged. like i deserved it. peace and love ben james.

FolkEast Festival 2016
This weekend I found myself at my first folk festival! I attended the FolkEast festival for the weekend as I was performing on the Soapbox stage (which can you read more about here.) The festival returned for its fifth year at Glemham Farm Estate in Suffolk. I’ve always enjoyed folk music but never considered myself a fan. However, the music that I listened to at FolkEast was great! I…

Soapbox Stage @ FolkEast Festival
This weekend I had the honour of performing on the Soapbox stage and spending a lovely weekend at the FolkEast festival – which you can read more about here. The Soapbox stage is run by Amy Wragg from Get on the Soapbox and it is absolutely wonderful! Welcome! Album, festivals, band, and website
Hello! Welcome to the brand new Tilly Moses website - I’m so happy to have it up and running. Thanks for visiting! I’m going to give you a low down of all the exciting Tilly Moses news, in one quick post, just to get you all up to date:
DEBUT ALBUM RELEASE: There are only 3 short weeks to go until my debut studio length album “Alight & Adrift” is released to the world. It’s available to pre-order here, and from the 2nd of June it’ll be available to buy and stream on all major music services - Spotify, Deezer, itunes, all that malarkey! The album has contributions from some really wonderful musicians, and I’ve worked really hard with GingerDog Records to make it as good as it can be - I hope you love it!
SUMMER FESTIVALS AND GIGS: In lieu of the big album release, I’ve booked as many festivals and gigs as I can this year - you can find all the dates on the “live” section of the website, and there are still a few to be announced! Some of them are very very special, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you there. Also, keep your eyes peeled for news about the album launch gig(s) - we’ll give you all the info you need as soon as we can! BAND: Talking of gigs and festivals, for 3 very special fests this year, I have an incredible lineup of musicians joining me on stage. We’ll be playing the album through almost in its entirety, and I can’t wait to share the material with you, and share the stage with some phenomenal players! I’ll be joined by Finn Collinson, Ella-Joy Hunton, Samuel McKie, Ellie West, Ginny Davis, Dave West, and Kevin Duncan. “Tilly Moses & Friends” are hitting Beverley Folk Festival, Mekonville, and FolkEast. It’s going to be spectacular - see you there! Thank you all for your support. I’ll keep you updated! Love as always, Tilly M xx
