Any ideas for equipment, training, evolutions, Super-moves etc for Foldabody? From what I remember you said it was a cool quirk along with the character but it doesn't get that much screentime so I'd be happy to hear anything else you have to say about it!
There isn't much point for equipment, since the thin form wouldn't be able to target anything that isn't any kind of DNA Mesh suit, but I can talk about all the ideas I have for applications for it.
Tumblr media
-We got a preview of his stealth capabilities, but I feel like it could be taken farther. Considering that he can flatten himself and turn so thin he seems invisible, Edgeshot could effectively move around wherever and however he wants without anyone being the wiser. Unless the room is air tight, he convibily has some way to get himself inside.
-As the power seems to be selective, Edgeshot could only thin out part of himself while still keeping other parts the same, working more as a utility and defensive option. For example, thinning his arm in order to stretch out his hand to grab something or suddenly thinning part of his head to stretch his eye around to see things.
-Since Edgeshot is effectively a giant ribbon, he could bend and fold in on himself. Not only would this let him hide himself in smaller spaces, but potentially improve his durability, folding in on himself in order to layer his body and make attacks less effective on him. Maybe even make himself into one of those thousand fold blades.
-On the topic of folding, Egdeshot could conceivably fold himself up like origami to benefit himself or others. Imagine making his fingers into actual finger claws to stab someone or tied up his body into a tiger to bit down on someone. Or maybe if he turned into a set of wings to tie himself around an ally and fly them out of the way or acted as armor around their body.
-I feel like the fact that Edgeshot's body effectively becomes string is a whole other aspect of his power that could be explored. I could easily see him being able to tie people up, using his body to subtly move objects arounds, push himself into mechanisms like locks to manipulate them open, use them like feelers to detect things, or just swing around like Batman.
-One really messed up application I came up with was that he could puppet around people's body's, effectively acting as a makeshift nervous system. It may be hard to do and straining to pull off, but it would certainly be a freighting experience. Which, given just how thin he can make himself and his immense knowledge on the human body, wouldn't be too far fetched.

@bibibbon I was reading your post and thinking when you mentioned Mummy, and certainly is sad and disappointing that out of Nine's crew he was the one to get the short stick in terms of screentime and interactions with his own leader.
Such a cool looking villain with an awesome power shouldn't be treated like fooder.
Tumblr media
But eh... I guess they really need give Bakugo an easy victory to show how badass he can be compared to the other loosers from the class.
Anyway, before getting absorbed by my hater side I can share my ideas about rewrite Mummy, because like his friends is fun write about him and fill the empty space left by the author.
Starting for his backstory:
This idea isn't entirely mine, but I love the concept of Mummy and Edgeshot being related.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Interesting to think because they share same birthdays, both their quirks have the aesthetic of red tape, they have grey hair and the names "Kamihara" and "Makihara" sound strangely similar.
I've seen people write them as twins, but I like more the idea of them having a big age gap in case of being brothers which fits more with Shinya being in his 30s in canon.
And so both Hoyo and Shinya being brothers born in a very traditional japanese family would make room for some family drama, as is more than probably that Shinya being the first born and with a quirk like foldabody would probably be seen as the pride of the family.
While Hoyo is seen as lesser and never able to live up to the level of his older brother, especially after Shinya got accepted at UA and started pay less attention to Hoyo.
While during his early childhood Hoyo only support was Shinya when he left the family state to focus on his studies Hoyo was alone with a family that never supported him and constantly remembered him how inferior he was.
Hoyo will reach a break point when his parents tried to get rid of him when he was entering on his teenage years, and he discovered they sold him to a mysterious organization that was looking for young low tier soldiers (which for some reason still happens in MHA world and nobody seem to care about it).
Note: This organizagion will be no other than the MLA but isn't really important for the story for now.
And so, without anything to lose since Shinya was long gone at that point, Hoyo escaped the family state and never came back. He also invented the false surname Makihara, as he didn't want anything to do with his family.
That would be the beginning of some rough years living in the streets for Hoyo.
Without proper studies (since he only got the basics at home instead of going to an actual school) and technically being a fugitive of his own family, Hoyo only could resort of stealing and other minor crimes for try to survive being homeless.
I imagine he also tried to gain some money doing dirty jobs for other criminals, which might be why we see him beating thugs in the street during the flashbacks.
Tumblr media
That being said, this empty life style wasn't something Hoyo was happy about.
He still feel the necessity of prove himself and try to became something better, he was angry at the world and his family, and he also missed Shinya despite he didn't want to admit and prove his brother his worth.
Despite Hoyo's quirk still seemed to be quite useless as he couldn't do much with his puppets and give up at some point.
That was until he meet Nine...
Tumblr media
My idea of how they meet is that Hoyo was hired to expulse Nine from the territory of a criminal gang that didn't like a homeless man like him was wandering in there.
Expecting just another quick job for a bit of cash Hoyo used his quirk with and old scarf to create a puppet out a vending machine, with he would use to intimidate the white haired man described by the gang.
Worse case scenario would be him having to beat the man in case he resists but isn't like he cared.
What Hoyo didn't expect is that when he meet the white haired man this one would have an aura of calm around him and rather than look intimidated by him or his puppet, he only got a glaze of interest coming from him.
Tumblr media
"That... looks like a very powerful ability you got there" Nine commented very calmly looking at Hoyo like if he already knew everything from him.
Hoyo was a bit confused by the statement (and internally a bit intimidated by the way the white haired man seem look through him) but he only wanted to finish the job quickly as he was hungry and needed the money the gang offered.
So he tried to attack the white haired man with his puppet, but in the blink on an eye a small lightning bolt hit the puppet and make it explode.
Hoyo was pushed back by the explosion and the white haired man was still there with an unfazed expression.
"Not that powerful yet but..." Nine said looking at Hoyo "I can make it stronger" He said like it was a promise.
Nine then walk away and Hoyo tried to follow him without understand anything of what was happen, until they were almost in front of the gang hideout.
Hoyo observed how the white haired man rising one of his hands at the sky, and he didn't realize how suddlenly the dark clouds covered what until some moments was a very clear night.
A lightning bolt came from the sky and impacted the buildings Hoyo knew the gang used to hide, making the ground vibrate as they explode illuminating the night with the fire and the white haired man was stading there with the same bored expression as he that act of destruction was nothing for him.
Hoyo was totally speechless by that demonstration of power.
"I assume they won't represent a problem for you from now, I understand they wanted you to get me out of here so you don't have to worry for not get the job done" the white haired man said with the same calm Hoyo was used at that point.
For some reason it reminded him to someone else...
"Huh... and what do you want from me?" Hoyo replied rising his eyebrown tried to show more confidence that he actually felt "This kind of "favors" can't be for free"
"From you? Nothing..." Nine said plain and simple "Maybe offer you something, but first we should get out of here, he police and heroes can be annoying and they probably were alerted by my little spectacle" He said before walking out of the scene.
Hoyo didn't know why but he started walking behind the white haired man. There wasn't much to lose anyway...
"Are you hungry? Personally I am, so maybe we can get some food" Nine said after notice the young boy was following him.
Hoyo agreed on that, he really could get something to eat.
...
After all that happened Nine started to explain to Hoyo what his ideals and dream to change the world, a dream he really wanted to share with Hoyo for some reason.
Even if he didn't believe he meet the standards of power the white haired man claim to have, but Nine keep insisting on the potential of his quirk and how Hoyo was stronger than he realize and how wrong society was for overlook his true potential.
Not much time later Hoyo meet a friend of Nine, a really intimidating mutant who called himself Chimera and that name was fitting considering he was a mix of countless animals.
Hoyo found the guy to be quite charismatic and funny regardless of his loon however, and he was also very compromised to follow Nine's vision for the ideal world he evisioned.
And one day Nine also surprised Hoyo with a gift: a lot of red bandages that he notice were more resistant and powerful than anything he previously used to activate his quirk.
"Your power is greater than you think Hoyo, don't believe what the weakelings tried to make you think all your life. You can be better than them, you can fight for the world we deserve" Nine said in the most genuine way Hoyo ever heaf from someone.
And Hoyo really felt weak but also strong for equal reasons that moment, as never during his whole life he felt supported the way Nine made him to feel. Not his own blood family, not even Shinya, but this man who only wanted to give him and Chimera a better world to live.
Hoyo knew that moment that his life and heart belong to Nine and his cause forever, he give him a real family and home without even expect anything from Hoyo other than fight together like a team.
It motivated Hoyo to push himself and his quirk over the boundaries, training endlessly with the help of Nine and Chimera, so what once was the ability of control a single puppet quickly became the power of create armies of puppet soldiers thanks to the gift Nine give to him.
He even discovered an inhate talent with the sword, a gift courtesy of Chimera by the way.
Hoyo was poweful indeed, just like his friends believed.
But he also wanted a new identity as well, as his born name no longer felt something that represented who he was.
Then Hoyo became Mummy, and he used the bandages gifted by his leader to cover his body.
Tumblr media
He felt safe and powerful like that.
Mummy finally meet himself that moment and knew who he really was.
...
P.S:
-Despite I make Shinya look like a careless and selfish brother in the backstory, I actually think later when he found what his parents did to Hoyo he resents them and felt totally guilty for not being there for his little brother. Edgeshot look for Hoyo during years hoping to find him someday and be a family again, he also keep his parents out of his life after what they did to Hoyo.
-I don't mention Slice here because I think she was the last one to join the team some time later than Mummy.
-While their age difference isn't actually that big, I like the idea of Mummy considering Nine a big brother figure and somehow filling the empty space left by Shinya.

It pleases me a bunch to see that my last post was received really well, So I'm gonna drop the wack ass family tree I made today and explain some things
Tumblr media
Okay, so this is the tree, obviously, you can click it and zoom in to read everything, but i'll explain most of it below.
I'll explain the connections first and then go into more detail.
Edgeshot and Kurono
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, there's actually a really good thread that someone already made under the #edgeshot tag, but I don't have the link to it copied right now, so you'll probably have to search for it yourself, but basically
They have very similar quirks and appearances, from the hair to their resting faces, its eerily similar. Their quirks both required some sort of distortion of their body to work properly.
I feel like they are brothers, and I feel like its possible that Kurono ran away from their family early on because he couldn't handle the stress of the lineage.
Next up,
This guy (He's unnamed as far as I know)
Tumblr media
So, as far as I'm aware, we have no solid name for this guy nor do we know what kind of quirk he has, or if he even has one to begin with based on the way he talks about quirks changing people's perception of things, so it could be he doesn't have one at all.
I feel like he's the brother of Kurono and Shinya's mother, which makes him their uncle
On that subject, Seiji, its heavily implied that he's this man's son, so if that's the case, that makes him Shinya and Kurono's cousin.
Tumblr media
Still on this note, I'll continue further.
Seiji's potential father could've possibly been married to a woman who had a sister that married another woman after a fling with a guy and results in the creation of Setsuna
Tumblr media
It feels right since Setsuna and Seiji have extremely similar quirks that may be a result of their mother's genetics.
Now,
I'll finally come back to Edgeshot and Jeanist's part of the tree.
So, Edgeshot and Jeanist, right ?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know they've known each other and been at least friends since their UA days, but possibly more of course and in this sense, they were more.
Tatami is 17 at the end of the final war, which makes her the perfect age to have been born when Edgeshot was about 18, and Jeanist 19, which would make her a teen baby.
In this idea, obviously I perceive Edgeshot as a trans man, which makes her 100% their biological daughter. Obviously, they wouldn't want it known they had a daughter publicly, but they didn't desire to give her up, which leads to her completely different name from both of them.
The reason I think she's their daughter and not possibly another sibling to Edgeshot is because her quirk isn't exactly close enough to Edgeshot and Chronostsis's to be that closely related, but its possible that the combination of Edgeshot and Jeanist's genes gave her an extra boost and made her quirk the way it was.
Jeanist's quirk is fibermaster, so he controls the fibers in clothing and can make it constrict and loosen at will.
Edgeshot's quirk is Foldabody, which makes him able to stretch his body out to be spindly and thin like a thread.
And,
Tatami's quirk is Telescopic, giving her the ability to pull her limbs into her torso like a turtle.
The combination of Edgeshot and Jeanist's quirks could reasonably lead to the mutation that is her quirk. It makes sense to me but if i need to elaborate more, don't be afraid to ask !
Extra:
Now, obviously, you probably see Mt. Lady up there in the righthand corner, and I'll explain.
So,
Tumblr media
I feel like she's probably got a distant relationship to Jeanist, obviously somehow connected through his mother's cousin or something. They both come off as very haughty, and from their interactions, she definitely holds respect for him, more so I feel in a familial way, rather than a coworker or elder way.
Idk I'm running out of things to say, I'm gonna end this rant here, ask any questions if you can think of any ❗

I most want to know where Edgeshot ended up in the polls. Because once again this fucker gets to survive as a thread parasite in Bakugou, yet all the villains are either dead or in a living Hell, and as I put it before who the fuck cares about Edgeshot
Like the only thing known about him is, he's in the top 10 heroes (#4), he's in a team with Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady. His quirk. And his part in Bakugou's fake out death (I've already stated my frustrations with this shit)
So the only people I can see liking him, are the Bakugou fanatics, and they aren't going to vote for anyone but Bakugou
I hope if there is a sequel he never gets a new body, and is just permanently stuck with that cujo of person Bakugou. I want him to suffer for this shit both in universe and in the meta
Edgeshot surviving while the villains either (supposedly) died and suffered permanent grievous injury is bullshit.
Because that's not even how his quirk works.
His quirk is: 'Foldabody: He can stretch his body into thin strings, maneuver through tight spaces, and strike multiple targets with stabbing precision.'
His quirk is NOT: 'He can lose 99% of his body by leaving it in someone else's and survive this just fine somehow.'
Which is exactly what happened 👇
Tumblr media
The random, older and irrelevant heroes get a pass on death, even when it's not explained or justified in the slightest.
And for what?? A perfect victory??
The idea of the hero's perfect victory was already failed by the villain's (again supposed) deaths.
Because the hero's victory/goals was to save their respective villains, not just their hearts but their lives as well.
The culmination of all of their Arcs.
There's no point in a hollow victory where everyone on the hero side survives yet doesn't accomplish their goals that the story has been setting up since season 2.
Because it makes it seem completely true that the heroes never had any real stakes, making everything feel tame and boring.
While simultaneously having them fail their goals, making the ending feel depressing and pointless yet trying to play it off as happy and meaningful.
(It really isn't happy or meaningful, there's a mountain of plot holes in deku, ochako and Shoji's conclusions.)
But Bakugou doesn't suffer a single loss and in the end always gets exactly what he wants.
A perfect hero's victory, edgeshot on the mend so he doesn't feel any guilt, and even getting Deku an ironman suitcase so they can keep Hero-ing together.

Y'ALL I NEED YOU TO LISTEN TO ME FOR A MOMENT
y'all remember chronostasis right?? the guy from shie hassaikai?? yeah, well, I was on my daily search of edgeshot content -because I adore him- and using google lens on a screenshot of him DO YOU KNOW WHO APPEARED INSTEAD? MF CHRONOSTASIS. and the second my eyes spotted him I came to the realization of how similar they were, PLEASE LOOK AT THEM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
like, no shit sherlock I'm not blind and neither are all of you, I KNOW you see the similarity and it's almost RIDICULOUS
and you know what? I'm not done, I have a ton more to say.
say what you say but in less than a minute I made a theory that these two are related by blood. first of all, their appearances, they are almost identical and secondly, their quirks are similar to a point.
Edgeshot's quirk: Foldabody. "Allows him to make his body and limbs extremely thin and long, effectively allowing him to transform himself into a razor-sharp string. (...)" (Shinya Kamihara Wiki)
Chronostasis' quirk: Chronostasis. "(...) Allows him to slow down the movements of anything he hits with his clock hand-like hair. The minute hands slows a targets movements for one minute and the hour hand slows a targets movements for one hour. Hari can extend his hair, but only if he is not moving." (Hari Kurono Wiki)
Edgeshot can control any part of his body and make it as thin as he wishes and Chronostasis can slow his contrincants down by hitting them with his hair. Their quirks revolve around using their/part of their bodies, I don't know about y'all but I do see the similarity.
I believe they're cousins, we don't know about Edgeshot's parents (none of the pro heroes' actually) but imagine his uncle/aunt are Chronostasis parents.
Ngl I've mistaken Kurono with Edgeshot in Kurono's fanart 😭. Anyways that's all I've got, here's my proof
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Actually they're so similar, they can be siblings

I keep on thinking back to AFO saying quirks have the 'remnants' of a person, and he said it was similar to organ transplants (because he can see those remnants and with organ transplants the person may get 'memories'/habits that the original donor had).
So, by that logic, with Edgeshot giving up his body to form Bakugou's new heart...wold he inherit Foldabody? Or, would he be able to see Edgeshot as a 'vestige' like Deku can?
Did...was this a thing back when that chapter came out with Edgeshot sewing up Katsuki's heart? Was this a thing people were theorizing? I forget now. If it was, it's been a while since I thought about this, that's for sure.
Huh.
I guess I can't quite rule it out because of the "find a quirk in the afterlife" line. But I assume the answer lies in what Edgeshot's quirk factor is. His cellular tissue? The pun certainly is there since the kanji for quirk in Japanese means personality. Huh. Goodness that's an interesting one to think about. I guess we'll see? Kudos for the theory.

Ah, forgive me for being a little nervous to post. Firsts are always difficult. Anyway, these are my takes on some edgejeanist fan children. This might be a little long…
First up is Tsuki Hakamada-Kamihara (top left), the oldest of the kids. Her quirk, Tangle, allows her to manipulate her hair as if it were another limb. It’s not particularly powerful but what she lacks in quirk power, she makes up for with her sheer skill at wielding a sword. She is known more simply in the world of underground heroics as the Blade-Wielding Hero: Excalibur.
Next is Shina Hakamada-Kamihara (top right), the second oldest. Through sheer luck, she inherited Foldabody. She’s mostly known for her looks— she’s pretty and people like to let her know that fact. But her personality makes people think twice about approaching her— she can be rather standoffish and even aggressive. In the day, she’s known as the Pinprick Hero: Acupuncture. But in the night, she’s known as the vigilante called The Blue Needle.
Second to last is Junya Hakamada-Kamihara (bottom left), he’s the second youngest and the older of the twins. He may look nearly identical to Shinya but don’t let that fool you— he inherited Fiber Master. However, he doesn’t exactly want to be a hero. People expect him to, especially with a quirk like that, but he doesn’t feel passionate when it comes to heroics. What he really wants to do is create hero costumes.
And last but not least, Tsumugi Hakamada-Kamihara (bottom right)— the younger of the twins and the youngest overall. Their quirk is called Flatten, it allows them to flatten themselves like a piece of paper. It’s not flashy nor powerful but they don’t need it to be— they don’t feel drawn to heroics so a powerful quirk is not necessary for what they want to do. They’re a star when it comes to making support gear, easily one of the best when it comes to making weapons and other things.
I hope you enjoy them! I spent way too long on every minor detail about them. There’s more to them but this is just meant to be an overview of their characters.

It's just too funny to me that Edgeshot's quirk name is called "Foldabody" and he literally folds his body and figuratively be folding bodies. 🤣

Note
The figure lunges, and Shinya stumbles backwards into Tsunagu's arms.
Popcorn spills everywhere. Screams from the television. He chances a look up- yep, Tsunagu is also pale, face white as a sheet. They're clinging onto each other. He looks down at Shinya. "What the fuck," He mouths.
Shinya looks back at the movie playing. There's two sprawled figures, one trying to get away from... the weird sewage monster. Thing. Person? Yeah, he really doesn't want to know- oh god fucking shit what the fuck-
He makes a horrified noise and buries his face into Tsunagu's chest. "Tsunagu," Shinya says into denim fabric. "Who's idea was it to rent this movie?"
"Yours." His voice has shifted up an octave. "Shinya, husband-mine, I told you this was a bad ideA-" They are both swallowed by their denim couch (Jouch?) and spit back out the other side, stuffing all around them and with the television hidden from Shinya's sight, but much to his mutual fear and disappointment, not his hearing.
Screaming. Begging. He shares a look with Tsunagu. Then Shinya uses Foldabody to turn off the television. The silence, somehow, is even louder.
Tsunagu is still sprawled on the floor, arm over his eyes. "This," He announces to the world at whole. "Was a horrible idea. Shinya, I love you, but we are not ever watching... that again." He shifts.
Honestly? Shinya agrees. "Agreed." He casts a look at the mutilated couch. Some parts of it were just... weirdly fused together with the stuffing. There's a welded-together-part of fabric, melded with the stuffing. "I think you killed our couch, Tsunagu."
"An acceptable casualty," Tsunagu deadpans, pulling himself off the floor. "Let's go to our room and watch that gameshow you like... the one with the improvised musicals?"
Oooh. "Brilliant idea. I'll clean the popcorn up and get a new bowl-"
"-and I'll get the blankets. We can make a nest and cuddle while to watch it." Tsunagu yawns, stretching. "Tomorrow's an... vacation day, isn't it? We can break out the wine, make tonight fun."
---
inspired by your fluff post- please enjoy!
-story anon
ougghhsjdhfgsdfj I love them so damn much-
also, the imagery of them getting swallowed up by the couch actually made me cackle, I love that omg
I think they'd better stick with gameshows and musicals, definitely-

Lock Down and Foldabody? BTW I LOVE YOUR BLOGG!!
New Quirk Name: Unfold
This Emitter type Quirk activates whenever the user touches an object and presses down on it. When they do, they can cause the object to flatten and become two-dimensional. This can affect anything from handheld objects to large objects like motorbikes to short ranges of space from the point of contact, letting them alter the terrain itself. While in this state, the object becomes like a light cloth, letting the user bend and fold whatever they interact with. Whatever the user applies to will have the same durability, however, such as steel being just as tough. This gives the user a good mix of defense and utility, able to bend and fold the area around them to their advantage. The user can release the object back into its original state or it will naturally return to normal after a period of time. They can tie their foes up in the terrain, completely undermine enemy defense, fold and hide items on their person, wrap themselves in tough objects to defend themselves, or simply use it to make moving easier. Though this does require the user to make contact with the target and will only work on objects. This is more difficult to use with larger objects as the user has so much more to move and fold.

Top 5 Quirks?
Valid question. I'm gonna rank this by how cool I think it is, how unique it is, and how interesting it is! I'm avoiding our main characters. Their quirks are awesome, but I'll be a little more creative than that.
5. New Order (Cathleen Bates/Star and Stripe). I think as of now she's only in the manga? (im not caught up on anime). Applying 'rules' to anything is so cool and such a unique power. It's just plain awesome and so interesting. Cool as hell.
4. Erasure (Aizawa Shouta/EraserHead). It's one of the most obvious quirks to have been created, but it's so awesome. It's actual function and its limitations are really cool and I wasn't expecting them. Plus I love Aizawa.
3. Foldabody (Shinya Kamihara/Edgeshot). Never would've thought of a quirk like this. Awesome and really really versatile. Plus I love Edgeshot.
2. Stress (Rikiya Yotsubashi/Re-Destro). What a freaky awesome quirk. I mean if I got to compile my stress into raw power I'd have destroyed the world by now.
1. Overhaul (Kai Chisaki/Overhaul). It's cool ok??? Being able to break stuff down and rebuild it?? Plus, his final fight??!? Dude, that man was No. Joke. Awesome quirk.

Shinya Kamihara or pro hero Edgeshot. He is the number 5 pro hero and his quirk is Foldabody. Foldabody allows him to manipulate the thinness of his body as well as stretch his limbs. It can allow him to flatten his body so he can fit into small spaces and of course fold his body, sort of like Origami! His quirk grants him increased mobility, striking precision, and flexibility. He’s a really cool hero!
