I find it very funny the ending of Avatar basically has the fire nation go 'I guess we're doing circles' meme but replace circles with anti imperialism after Ozai and Azula are defeated and Zuko proceeds to take over.
LMAO what? Did majority of the populace just roll over without even feeling upset about the 'hard work' going to waste? Especially since Zuko is a usurper by their view, people should've been crying for Azula to take over. Hell even after Aang sprayed Ozai with debender spray, there were still people who wanted him back.
Yeah, it's weird for the Fire Nation to be like: "We finally lost to the Avatar! That's so great!", because while I'm sure there were people in the FN who didn't approve of the war, the majority of the populace was still under a huge amount of propaganda, and such indoctrination would not go away so easily. At first I thought it was just because the show didn't have much time to show the aftermath of the war, but even in the comics, they briefly touched on some of the post-war conflicts in The Promise, and nothing more than that.
Maybe I'm asking too much, but I think there was a bigger opportunity here. They could have shown us a real civil war going on in the FN, new interesting antagonists, maybe even a problem that Zuko and the Gaang need Azula's help with, it would be interesting to see Azula and Team Avatar working together against a common enemy, but the plot we got just seemed a little... boring to me. Which is a shame, because imo all the potential conflicts Zuko could be dealing with after the war had a lot of potential for a fascinating story.

In the aftermath of the battle of Crait, Kylo Ren and General Hux have agreed on a race in AT-ATs, but neither has a crew so far...
FN-0011: "Say, Sir, how long has it been that you actually commanded an AT-AT?"
Hux: "I've kept up through simulations, so I'm good. Especially with the crew I have in mind: TW-3222, 3223 and 2242."
FN-0011: "The numbers don't ring a bell, but since you mentioned them as a trio, are you by chance referring to Whirlwind, Nightfall and Jettison?"
Tumblr media
FN-0011: "Aka the ones Lord Ren is just now chatting up?"
Hux: "Shoot! He already drafted them? That wasn't supposed to happen!"
Tumblr media
Hux: No one will follow me. No one who has a chance of winning, that is....
FN-0011: "Big deal. You can still take your pick from the stormtroopers. We will always follow you!"
Hux: "I can’t win this with random infantery. I need the best of the best: A pilot, a gunner, an engineer and a load master."
Now that he spells out the positions to the captain, two names and a number flare up in the General’s head unbidden...
Tumblr media
Hux: "Captain Eleven! Friendly reminder that your loyalties lie with me first and foremost. I, as you know, own the stormtroopers."
FB-0011: "Correction: You own the patent to the training program. Ever since I stopped being Trenay of Jakku and became FN-11, my allegiance transferred to the First Order. As should have yours. Whatever rules bending you're thinking of, I won't have a part in it!"
Tumblr media
Hux: "It's either bending the rules or watching Kylo Ren win the race, become Supreme Leader and with that invite the Sith filth to run the show."
FN-0011: "They... respect power same as we do."
Hux: "Overtly there's common ground, but by their nature the Sith are disciples of chaos. Think back to our childhood on Jakku!"
FN-0011: If only you were referring to the part where I chased you snot-nosed brat up the jungle gym until you cried. But I know what you really mean. The fear, the hunger, the constant struggle just to survive the day.
Hux: "Do you really want to surrender our First Order to that?"
Tumblr media
FN-0011: "You're right, Sir. I cannot fight the Resistance, only to allow an even more anarchist group to take over. Anything you ask I'll do!"
Hux: "In case it makes you feel better, I have no intention to cheat in the actual race. We just have to be a little creative in acquiring our crew."
FN-0011: "You want to hire from outside the First Order, is that it? Mercenaries?"
Hux: "In the broadest sense, yes."

you know whats fascinating. The invasion at the North that was done better.. it could have been better with the air nomads but instead it just looked like a action scene and gyatso didnt even get to kill one firebender plus his skelton looked like an afterthought while in the cartoon we see bunches of dead fn people and bam dead gyatso.. here aang just walks to him no buildup nonothing
And.. .. the north we getto know people like that hahn guy whosechangeiwasfine with.. and bam they be showing the aftermath dead bodies.. .. that made me feel well.. sad.... so they could have done better and just failed.
i think my biggest pet peeve about natla (netflix atla) is that they decided to fully illustrate the air nation's genocide (because telling us isn't enough i guess) not only is it distasteful because of very real past and ongoing events but because we've seen how much it impacts the narrative without being seen in the original that not it's just spectacle. it doesn't add anything to the story. it's just there. and it looks bad.

Finnpoe Rec List!
There’s some really fantastic Finnpoe fics out there and I’ve been setting aside fics from my bookmarks for this for a while! These are just some of my faves, so enjoy!!
Canon/Canon Adjacent (not AUs outside general Star Wars universe)
“how to become the spark” by sassy_ninja (G - 49.7k
Poe Dameron, commander of the Resistance fleet, best pilot in the galaxy, hotshot trigger-happy flyboy, he's all of these things plus a little bit more. This is the story Poe Dameron, shy farmboy, doting son, idiot gay, soldier who tries his best not to be broken by the war roaring around him and most of all just a human in a galaxy which doesn't care about things like love, friendship and fear. This is how he breaks and how he begins to heal again and how he starts to learn what it means to be alive. Or Poe Dameron's life from his childhood to the end of the war.
“bathed in blue light” by delgay (M - 17.4k)
When Finn turns to his right, Poe stands beside him, looking up at Finn and giving him what might be a smirk if he weren’t too busy smiling. It’s that same smile that’s made home on his face ever since Finn said, “I’d like to see Yavin IV. If I’d be welcome.” Poe had blinked fast, but the smile came slow. “Buddy,” he’d replied, “I’m offended that you even had to ask.”
A year after the Battle of Exegol, Finn and Poe visit Yavin IV. While there, Finn struggles with the Force and his complicated relationship with Poe.
“we slept with our backs against the weather” by bogpersons (T - 8.4k)
Poe’s breaths come in stops and starts, and wheezes on the inhale and exhale. He sounds like a dying man. Finn lifts Poe’s hand to his lips, presses it there, squeezes his eye shut. Something harsh and painful swells in his chest, finds a place under his heart and pushes and pushes and pushes until Finn can barely breathe with it. You are a Human Person. Finn and Poe crash on a jungle planet. Finn struggles with himself.
“We Stan A Healthy Family Dynamic (The Kes Verse)” by AphroditesTummyRolls SERIES (Not rated, 161.7k)
Get in losers, we're giving the Star Wars Sequel cast the story they deserved-- Particularly Poe and Finn.
[Set after the events of TFA, rewrites of TLJ and neat little bits in-between. Poe deals with the aftermath Kylo Ren’s interrogation, dealing with regret and trauma, with the help of his friends and dad through a rewrite of TLJ.]
“your love will be safe with me” by incalyscent (T - 8.6k)
when finn stripped away the violence from himself, what did he have left? it was love; love; love.
“i’m yours (and suddenly you’re mine) by spacepilotprince (E - 4.3k)
Finn snorts against Poe's stomach, and it forces a ticklish laugh out of him. “Laying it on a little thick tonight, aren't you?” Finn asks as he looks up at Poe, and finds that grin he heard in his voice.
“Not the only thing that's thick,” Poe says with a smirk, glancing down between them towards Finn's cock.
“Oh, shut up,” Finn laughs, surging up to kiss him, muffling Poe's laughter. Poe runs his hands over Finn's shoulders and tips his head aside, sending Finn's mouth down his jaw and neck.
“Contact” by earthmylikeness (M - 9.9k)
Because what could Finn do but live through it? Live in the remains of his own shipwrecked mind, his badly-crossed wires. Imagine Poe’s perpetually bitten mouth on him - his wide, calloused hands on his bare chest, pulling him down and down whenever he so much as closes his eyes.
Finn has a delayed reaction to surviving the crash.
“Best Laid Efforts” by cosmicocean (T - 3.7k) @cosmicoceanfic
In which Jessika and Temmin do their best, aren't even subtle about it, and Poe and Finn are still morons.
“Ad Pacem” by SteveTrevorsStarship (T - 1.5k)
Finn knows war and rebellion so far. He doesn’t know peace. (Yet.)
“First Comes the Night” by coffeeinallcaps (E - 20.1k)
He doesn’t get nightmares. He doesn’t dream about the mask, the cries of the villagers, waking up in the desert with a blinding headache and his mouth filled with blood and the man who’d saved him gone, most likely dead. Instead, he just can’t sleep.
“have you heard” by peradi (Not rated, 42.1k)
"I heard FN-2187 was a Stormtrooper."
Finn sparks a revolution.
“Doubt” by Cadoan (T - 1.4k)
After the battle of Crait, something has changed in Poe. Poe can't sleep, and Finn goes to find him.
“Neither Here Nor There” by d8rkmessengr (T - 7.8k)
Sometimes, it felt like he wasn't really here. Sometimes, it felt like it wasn't really over. And the one person who tethered him left to finally tell Rey something. Post The Rise of Skywalker.
“How to Be a Finn” by Ayashiki (G - 111k)
In a hindsight, all of it - the stolen childhood, the crash on Jakku, Han Solo's death, even the lightsaber to the back - was easier than living in this world of invisible social clues and inside jokes, the whirlwind of this ragtag family that defied any logic, the caring, the compassion, the love. And all the while people tell him: Finn, you are so brave! Finn, you are so strong! Finn, you are so kind! Finn, thank you for saving my life! And FN-2187 looks to the stars and desperately tries to find this "Finn" everyone seems to know in himself.
“On the Other Side” by StarMaple (T - 27.2k)
Finn discovers the differences first hand between the First Order and the Resistance and establishes a space for himself on D'Qar.
“we are all stardust” by synergenic (Losseflame) (Not rated, 15.3k)
Finn wakes up. He wakes up slow, the rising tide of consciousness making him aware, firstly, of how stale his mouth tastes. Then it's the general stiffness of his body, the foreign feeling of a pillow beneath his head, the softness of the clothes he's wearing. Finn doesn't think he's ever worn clothes so soft.
“No Sleep till Brooklyn” by TheCarrot (T first chapter, second chapter E, - 10.4k)
Poe is exhausted. And not just because he hasn’t slept for more than three hours at a time in Force knows how long. Moreover it’s the 39 flights he’s run in the last 22 days and the fact Pava had gotten deathlike sick eight days ago and then they had fallen behind on a few supply runs and an emergency evacuations of some of their pathfinders and then there had been a last minute scramble to one of their allies in the mid rim with far too many TIEs to be comfortable and then- well, Poe just wants to fall over onto the floor and stay there.
AUs
“Time of the Underdog” by beeeawolf, SERIES. (G & T, 56k)
Modern times AU, Poe is a former Navy pilot who was discharged after a crash and being a POW. Finn is a university student who manages to catch Poe’s run away dog, BB-8, who’s literally everything to him.
“We Didn’t Start the Fire” by MayGlenn and cognomen (E - 10.7k)
There’s a calm that claims them all when they’re working and it’s going the way it’s supposed to; the low-level hum of concentration and focus and adrenaline that keeps them on edge without panic. The crew deploys from Idaho, a home base that they see perhaps 3 weeks out of the entire 26 week fire season, interspersed with time in camps and housing all over the country. This week, it’s California—sunny, liberal, beach lined, and on fire.
Finn's a Hotshot firefighter; Poe's the team Helitack operator. They're headed to California to fight a fire in San Jacinto; dangerous country.
“It’s Not Goodbye” by mssrj_335 (T - 25.9k)
Finn is an ex-soldier on a solo motorcycle trip across America. Poe is the mechanic in a small desert town. Poe wants to keep his secrets and Finn is running from something--or toward it--and the part for his bike is going to take at least a week to come in. What starts as a quick stop and awkward flirt devolves into a conspiratorial intrigue of a very personal nature. Lights in the desert, headaches and vague memories all point Finn to something that has Poe tied in knots. He just has no idea how far that something will take him.
“A Possibility (A Promise)” by sapphistication (T - 5.9k)
Poe, Prince of Yavin, is briefly reunited with the Resistance Fighters lead by General Leia Organa. After three years apart, he quickly finds that his affections for Finn are of a different nature than he remembers. Despite the war they find themselves in, they share a few moments of peace by the fire, filled with soft words and meaningful smiles. Time works against them, but Poe seeks a possibility and makes a promise.

Star Wars is a Dystopia
The Star Wars original trilogy depicted an interconnected universe with hundreds of different alien races, and, of course, the powerful, controlling, and ever-present Empire. From the start of the movies, we, the audience, are told that the Empire is bad, an evil force taking over the universe. However, when one looks closer, it becomes clear that the Empire is not merely evil but is, in fact, a dystopia. A dystopia is a society that is the cause of suffering and pain. More than that, a dystopia is the corrupted version of a Utopia, the perfect place. The Empire attempted to create the perfect universe -- a universe without conflict between differing societies and opinions. Palpatine, the Emperor, decided the only way to create such a perfect universe was for it to be controlled by a single man. With a single military and justice system, conflict would be eliminated, and everything should be perfectly peaceful and just. Unfortunately, as one might expect, putting all the power in the universe in the hands of one man does not a perfect utopia create. The Empire is Palpatine, and his will is the Empire’s will. The Empire, under Palpatine, became, rather than a force for peace, a force propelled by greed and controlled by fear. The Empire demonstrates three necessary characteristics of a dystopia, control through fear, dehumanization of both their soldiers and their enemies, and oppression over a lower class.         We first meet the Empire when Stormtroopers board Princess Leia’s ship in search of missing Death Star plans.(00:02:30, A New Hope) Immediately we know two things: The Empire is willing to kill to get what it wants and has little regard for the lives of their soldiers. As the Stormtroopers work their way through the ship, both the rebel soldiers and the Stormtroopers suffer casualties. There is no discussion of the deaths, and Stormtroopers seem uncaring of their fellow soldiers’ deaths. The Stormtroopers themselves are one of the most obvious pieces of evidence of a dystopian society. First, there are thousands of them. We only see a couple hundred, but we know that there are more on every single ship of the many fleets of the Empire. That means thousands, or millions, of people were conscripted or joined the Empire as soldiers. The Empire uses the sheer mass of this gigantic army to induce fear in anyone who might oppose it. Moreover, this massive army is not just a peacekeeping force. The Empire has no qualms about using these soldiers to kill innocent civilians, further instilling fear among the population. In the first movie, we see the aftermath of that, when Luke returns home to the sight of his Aunt and Uncle’s burned corpses.(00:40:30, A New Hope) In fact, we see the Empire kill innocents more than it kills rebel soldiers. Second, the Stormtroopers armor, now one of the most recognizable pop culture references, are specifically designed to be uniform. Each one is exactly alike and hides the wearer's face. This is a classic dehumanization tactic of literally making them not appear human. Third, they are not given names. The one time a Stormtrooper is addressed on screen, he is called “TK-421” by a superior officer on the Death Star. (01:08:22, A New Hope) In later Star Wars movies, there is more nuance given to the idea of the Stormtrooper with the existence of Finn, or FN-2187, but their treatment remains consistent with the Stormtroopers from the original trilogy. The Stormtroopers represent both the dehumanization tactics of dystopias and the Empire’s control through fear.         Almost every planet that the audience is shown has Stormtroopers stationed there. The only places we are shown that do not are Hoth and the Dagobah system. Hoth is an uninhabited ice planet that kills anything on its surface, and the Dagobah system is a swampy marshland inhabited only by Yoda. Every other inhabited planet has Stormtroopers stationed there, indicating the Empire has a stranglehold over the entire universe. One could assume that they are peacekeepers, but they completely ignore the murders that happen on Tatooine. When Luke and Obi-Wan Kenobi attempt to find a pilot to get them to Alderaan, Kenobi kills one person, and cuts the arm off another.(00:46:55, A New Hope) The Stormtroopers, despite being just outside, and fully within earshot, do nothing. Why would the Stormtroopers be stationed on a planet except to make sure things remain peaceful? The answer is: to inspire fear in the locals, thereby increasing both Palpentine’s already impressive control over the citizenry and his power. The Empire does not care at all about the criminal activities of Jabba the Hut and his compatriots. It willfully ignores murder and other criminal activity because it can always use criminals to its advantage.        Tatooine is a prime example for two of the major ways the Empire uses fear tactics. The first being the continued presence of Stormtroopers on a peaceful planet. This does not deter criminal activity but rather the possibility of rebellion. When you know there is a highly trained military force occupying your planet, it is that much harder to entertain the ideas of rebellion. The second is the Empire ignoring Jabba’s criminal activities. By allowing Jabba to do whatever he wants, the Empire gains two advantages on Tatooine. The civilians are now scared of both the actual Empire and the criminal empire, and a potentially dangerous and armed faction now has no reason to go against the Empire. The criminals we see on Tatooine and throughout the universe are almost as highly trained as the Stormtroopers, if not as populous. By allowing criminal activities to continue with minimal interference, the Empire neutralizes a potential threat.         The Empire not only has soldiers stationed on every inhabited planet, but it also can destroy entire civilizations at will. The existence of the Death Star is as much a threat as a real weapon. Its incredible power can only be used against full sized planets, not small fighters, or ships, meaning that it is purposefully designed to instill fear more than fight. The name itself is terrifying, the Death Star, and is used to inspire fear of the power the Empire holds. When the Empire destroyed Alderaan, it sent a message to the whole universe that Palpatine is willing to destroy entire planets to maintain absolute control. Governor Tarkin, the man who built the Death Star, says that he wants to test out the capabilities of the Death Star’s weapon system.(00:58:08, A New Hope) This is only partly true. The Empire wanted to use it, of course, but Palpatine also wanted to prove that it could work. The ability to destroy planets is a horrifying prospect, and it absolutely inspires fear in the rest of the universe. It becomes a dangerous prospect to allow rebels anywhere near someone’s planet, for fear that the Empire would discover it and destroy the entire planet. Later in the movie, the Empire dissolves the Galactic Senate, and Governor Tarkin says that it does not matter because fear will keep the locals in line.(00:37:38, A New Hope) The existence of the Death Star allows the Empire that much more control over the universe.         The last characteristic of a dystopia is one less often attributed to Star Wars because the oppressed group is not one most audience would think about. The droids in Star Wars are shown to have emotions, human intelligence, and absolutely no respect from anyone. C-3PO and R2-D2 are the most well-known droids and both are often shown having fully human emotions. C-3PO is terrified of being de-activated and sold as spare parts, and he forms clear attachments to most of the people in the resistance. In particular, he is shown to have a strong attachment to R2-D2, worrying over him multiple times in the movies. R2-D2, likewise, shows human characteristics. Specifically, he is brave and determined, as shown when he risks his life several times for the resistance. Despite the human levels of intelligence and emotion, the droids are second-class citizens. They are refused service at a bar in the first movie, tortured and taken apart in the second, and nearly killed in the third. While there is a general bias against the droids on the part of everyone in Star Wars, this negative treatment stems from the Empire. The Empire has a very strict line of thinking, if something is useful, use it, otherwise get rid of it. Its opinion on droids stems from the same thing, and that thinking trickled down to the civilians. The Empire has no problem using droids when necessary but never allows them even a hope of citizenship. In fact, calling them second-class citizens is too positive for the way they are treated. They are slaves that can be literally taken apart and put back together in whatever way the Empire wants. C-3PO calls Luke master throughout the trilogy because Luke bought him, and he sees Luke as his owner. In the third movie, we see a random droid being tortured with hot metal on its feet. (00:11:04, Return of the Jedi) By the sound of its screams, we can assume that it does in fact feel pain, a part of its programming that could have only been added to control it. The Empire forces these fully intelligent and emotional beings to work for them as slaves with torture as an incentive.         Even looking beyond the canon of the movies, much of the Empire is based on a real-world authoritarian state, Nazi Germany. The Stormtroopers are based on specialized Nazi troops of the same name. The general fear and awe that surrounds the Emperor is very similar to the way the Nazis treated Hitler. In the second trilogy, the Imperial Order has a salute very reminiscent of the Nazi salute. Learning about and understanding the Empire in Star Wars can help us understand real world dystopias. “Art imitates life”, and we can use that to recognize dystopias or even regular injustice. People must learn about this type of thing to stop it if they see it in the real world. Star Wars may be fun movies with terrible special effects, but they are also a blueprint for what could happen if one person is given too much power and uses that power to enslave those with less means to protect themselves. The parallels drawn between the Nazis and the Empire were entirely purposeful. Now, it was probably just to make an easy antagonist that viewers will automatically hate, of course, because they’re Nazis, but it evolved beyond that to serve as a reminder that fascism and tyranny can be anywhere, even in fun Sci-Fi movies.

Tbh, I think about David having his silver rings engraved with “stuck on your heart” and when he finally is able to give them to Patrick in happy golden days of yore kind of an unhealthy amount, but also the duality of Sebastien’s photos in the press/Patrick getting outed and the way everyone comes together to support both David and Patrick in FN.
thank you! the aftermath of the david/patrick reveals was some of my favorite stuff to write (mainly because it was about as angsty as those fics got lol).

Written in DNA (Booker x Reader) [Part 12]
Booker deals with the aftermath of losing you.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 7 | Part 8 | Part 9 | Part 10 | Part 11 | Part 12 | Epilogue

The immortals brought Booker to a different safe house. While they restrained Quynh and sedated her, he paced the front room, agonizing. He could still hear the crack of the gunshot, your body collapsing to the asphalt.
He should’ve gone back to you.
Andy and the others emerged from the back room to see Booker rummaging through cupboards for liquor. He found a half-empty vodka bottle. Scrambling to unscrew the lid, he lifted it to his mouth.
Hesitated.
Drinking wouldn’t solve this problem. He knew that he would need all his wits.
He slammed the bottle down on the table, the alcohol untasted, and raked both hands through his hair, roaring with frustration. Only then did he notice the others were watching him.
“Quynh alright?” he asked.
Andy nodded slowly.
“Then I’ll leave.” He snatched up his jacket.
“Where will you go?”
Booker didn’t meet Nile’s curious gaze. “I’m going after her.”
“Why?” Joe asked.
Booker tried to answer, found he didn’t have words. Why? He couldn’t put it into words, not when he didn’t really know himself. But he managed, “When I found her, she was all alone in a room. For ten years.”
A hushed silence fell over the room.
“She isn’t an immortal, but she did this for me. To…” To let me be with you all. He slipped on the jacket. “I’m not letting someone else down.”
He scurried away before anyone could say anything, averting his eyes.
~~
It took him a week to gather enough intel to even consider making a move. Booker sat in a cheap motel room surrounded by it, mounds of printed schematics and schedules, a paper trail guaranteeing nothing but destruction. Despair crept in, anxiety taunting him. The bottle called to him. It took all his energy to not succumb to it.
His research had found you had been returned back to the same location, only there was no guarantee you were in the same room he had broken you out from. Security had been tightened, and his face was in their system now, picked up by one of the cameras inside that he had missed on the way out.
Booker nearly pulled his hair out. No matter how he examined the problem, he couldn’t crack it. Not without getting captured in the process or getting you killed.
Assuming you weren’t dead already.
He hadn’t yet been able to determine whether you were alive or were being dissected. Every bad movie he had seen about brainwashing and mad scientists played on repeat in his head as he imagined the horrors you were being subjected to.
Nine days after you had taken the fall on the tarmac, he decided it was worth the suicide mission. He didn’t have a full plan, and as much as that frighten him, he was going to go ahead anyway.
Dressing in black once more, he armed himself with a tactical knife, a FN SCAR, and a Beretta. He brought only two clips for the handgun and three for the assault rifle. He would have preferred a crowd-control method, but everyone else would be armed to the teeth. He couldn’t risk it.
Steeling himself, he left the motel under cover of darkness, headlights doused until he reached the road. He ran the plan through his head again and again, ignoring the flaws, telling himself all he had to do was get to you. From there, escape would be inevitable. It had to be.
His cellphone buzzed in his pocket. He fumbled it out, saw the number was unknown. He hesitated, then answered.
“Booker?” Andy’s voice rang clearly through the phone.
“Andy?”
“We’re on your tail.”
He glanced up in the rearview mirror. Headlights flashed twice.
“We’re here to help,” she said.
Tears pushed at Booker’s eyes. “Thank you.”
“What’s the plan?”
“I need a distraction. A massive one.”
~~
Booker waited for it. The night breeze tickled his cheeks, toying with him. Crickets had gone silent around him, as though in anticipation.
BOOM!
The sky exploded into flame, huge gouts licking the darkness. Alarms blared, soldiers scrambling to the scene.
Booker sprinted in the opposite direction, into the compound. He pushed past the security checkpoints, capitalizing on the chaos to go by unnoticed. Following the same path as before, he made his way to the basement levels.
He had to shimmy down the elevator shaft. Without the key card to call it up, it was the only way down. Climbing through the access panel in the elevator’s roof, he muscled open the sliding doors and slipped out into the long hallway. He hurried to the far end and shot off the doorknob, allowing him to enter.
Empty.
His heart plummeted into his stomach. He swept the room, double-checking. All your personal effects—the books, primarily—were gone.
Booker fought the urge to scream. He stepped out of the room, kicking himself. The gunshot rang in his ears again, the image of you collapsing flashing before him. He leaned against the wall, raked his hand over his face.
“FUCK!”
He punched the wall, broke his hand. The pain reminded him of the first time he had been here. Tears burned in his eyes.
A faint tapping reached through the pulsing in his ears as he struggled with his grief. Through his addled mind, he recognized the beats and pauses of Morse code.
He straightened.
Here, the code tapped.
Booker faced the wall behind him, heard the code repeat. Scrutinizing the wall, he found a near-invisible seam ran from ceiling to floor. Booker ran his fingers along it, trying to find purchase. Pulling out his knife, he slid the tip along the edge, flaking away concrete. The knife snagged on something. Through the crack, he saw metal glinting.
The tapping resumed. Lock.
Mind racing, Booker retreated into your cell and came back with one of the chairs. He started ramming it at a fort-five degree angle against the wall, tearing at the concrete.
Cement dust filled the air, choking him. It covered his skin as he tore chunks out of the wall, revealing the locking mechanism. Rather than attacking where the lock engaged, he found where it had been anchored into the wall and tore it loose. Grunting and heaving, he yanked the lock out of the jamb.
Fingers reached through the hole, pulling on the door. Booker shoved his shoulder against it, pushing it slowly open.
Light fell through the darkness beyond the door, illuminating your dust-covered face. Booker nearly choked with relief. You stared up at him in disbelief.
“I’m here to get you out,” he said. “Again.”
You grinned, your lips trembling. Squeezing through the gap, you stumbled out into the bright light, blinking furiously.
“Let’s go.”
“Wait.”
“Wait?”
Your face hardened. “There’s something I have to do first.”
Booker nodded. “Tell me how to help.”

Closing the Book: I’m Done With RWBY
At the beginning of Volume 8, I made a vow to myself that no matter WHAT happened, no matter how the volume ended, I would officially be finished with RWBY as I know it.
Honestly, this was a long time coming. The first time I ever thought of dropping the show was after Volume 6 (specifically the episode where Adam was killed) but decided to hang on and see what would happen in Atlas because of all the build up.
The next time I thought of hanging up my hate with this show was the end of volume 7, but again I decided to hold one for at least one more volume to see where things ended up.
Though before I explain why I’m dropping the series like a bad habit, I suppose I should start from the beginning and explain just how I found myself pulled into its orbit in the first place.
Unlike a large majority of the FNDM, I didn’t come into the RWBY back when the series started back in 2013. I had heard about it of course, I remember the hype surrounding it on the interwebs, but the original Poser animation turned me off. So I was content with ignoring it.
It wasn’t until the aftermath of Volume 3 that I revisited the idea of starting RWBY. I believe that was in part due to Monty Oum’s unfortunate passing.
I remember seeing Dead Fantasy some time before then so the name was familiar, but I never knew that he was the Creator of RWBY. So hearing the outpouring of sorrow and praise for the man who had given so much to so many people motivated me to check out the show.
After watching the original RWBY trailers (which still fairly impress me to this day) I ended up marathoning V1 and V2 on Netflix not long after. Soon after I bought Volume 3 and watched that as well.
Now from Day 1 I knew that the show wouldn’t blow my mind narratively or visually, but the amount of effort and overall passion for the series by its creators was what gave its overall charm. If anything, at least for me, V1-3 were FUN to watch.
However, that charm began to fade with the start of Volume 4.
Now on the whole I liked Volume 4. After the massive shift in tone at the end of Volume 3 a reset was needed, and V4 provided that for the most part, but its also where the larger problems of the show began to show themselves for me.
RWBY in the grand scheme of things is a fairly simple show with a fairly simple premise: four girls go to school to learn to fight monsters and hijinks ensue. Volume 3 is where CRWBY started to inject actual plot into the show, and each successive volume after 4 showed how this writing team just couldn’t handle it.
Retcons, inconsistent character motivations, infuriating writing choices, nonsensical plot twists, and haphazard timelines turned what was once an relatively easy to follow series into a tangled mess that tripped over itself the longer it went on.
The characters I had grown to somewhat attached to slowly but surely became shells of their former selves. Team RWBY is no longer Team RWBY. That’s not even going into how other characters have been treated, or ruined, by this writing staff.
Then there’s the fans.
Usually I’m not the type of person to get involved in the fandoms of shows I watch, mostly because I dig to deep and end up in some hellhole that’s near impossible to get out of.
RWBY’s most hardcore fans are probably some of the most ravenous pit of piranha’s I’ve ever seen in my life at this point. Any slight against the show is met with overwhelming hate and negativity, to the point where some people are told to kill themselves. All over a stupid internet show.
Any criticism over the White Fang plot gets you labeled a racist or abuse supporter.
Criticizing the show’s abysmal handling of LGBTQ+ characters gets you labeled homophobic.
Criticize the writing and you’re just a “hater that didn’t pay attention”.
The RWBY FN/DM is just this pit that is constantly eating itself, patting itself on the back defending people (CR//WBY) who wouldn’t spare them a glance if they were starving on the street. It’s super unhealthy.
I’d also contribute this abuse to RT themselves, but this post will be way longer than it already is. So I’ll just say that the echo chamber that they have made for themselves where they reward the (unearned) praise and dismiss the (valid) criticisms speaks volumes of the show’s decline in quality.
TLDR; I will no longer be posting about anything RWBY past volume 8. I’ll likely still reblog cool looking art, but that’s about it. I’ve cancelled my First Membership and I’m through supporting the company as a whole. I’m done.

Year 2 and beginning of Year 3
After the anniversary of his banishment and Zhen's reassurances, Zuko continues his aimless wandering. He's been getting sailing lessons from the Sazanami's helmsman, Myeong, and works his way up to sailing just with Ju Long and Bun Ma. Except their first solo voyage doesn't go to well. They are saved by some local fisherwomen. The captain of the fishing ship, Ticasuk, helps them get on track and gets her ear chatted off by Zuko as he lets loose his Yangchen (and airbender) fanboying.
Ju Long notices how Zuko is talking more about airbender culture and realizes he is careful not to talk much about it on the Sazanami. He and Bun Ma suspect they've fallen for FN propaganda and confront Zuko about it once they're alone. Zuko confides in them how he discovered the Air Army was a lie, but is scared of being labeled a traitor and ruining the war effort. Ju Long and Bun Ma declare their support in helping Zuko discover the truth and figure out what to do next.
Zhao pops up again and makes a tit out of himself interviewing the entire crew to validate the improvement shown in their recent performance reports. No one is really sure of his game, but wow his poor bookkeeper sure does seem done with his shit... In the aftermath of his visit, Ju Long and Bun Ma share their knowledge about the Air Nomad genocide with others in the crew.
Still aimlessly wandering, Zuko decides to start inquiring about Kyoshi Island at Iroh's behest. He still really wants to just go to a spirit gateway and isn't really passionate about any other avenues of research lol. In a random neutral port town, Koji and Zuko stumble upon a Southern Water Tribe woman, Atka, who's heard of Hui from Ticasuk, who also was from the Water Tribes, Zuko realizes belatedly.
The women of the Southern Water Tribe have integrated themselves in the Earth Kingdom and neutral port towns to gather information and allies for the SWT warriors before they head out. They heard rumors about Hui even before Ticasuk met him... and after she met him, well, they're starting to suspect his Avatar Yangchen research is a cover for researching how to be the Avatar.
Following Atka's wife's recommendation for spirit activity, Zuko heads to Foggy Swamp with Iroh and is immediately sucked into swamp hijinks. He keeps having visions of water and air people, an airbender boy, and a bright, flying impression of a dragon, but also keeps forgetting them. With the help of the swamp folk and the ruins of the water/air civilization in the great tree of the swamp, Zuko successfully makes contact with the Avatar! Well. An Avatar and his very-great-aunt :3 Akari and Yangchen direct Zuko to go to the North Pole to further his quest.
Except he hits a road block bc oh my oh dear the true aftermath of Zhao's obnoxious paperwork visit has hit. Almost all of Zuko's crew has been reassigned and there's nothing Zuko can do to stop it. He does at least manage to sneak into the port office to give everyone cushy, easy new assignments, and to get Bun Ma sent off with Ju Long. Before leaving, Bun Ma insinuates to Iroh that Zuko is on a path to challenging the throne, and she's willing to do what it takes to pave that path for him. Iroh passes Bun Ma a white lotus tile...
Crew gutted and unable to immediately leave for the North Pole, Zuko is pissy and being a complete brat. He makes a bad impression as he ignores everyone on board, and then blows up on Zhao's bookkeeper, Jae, who was sent to join the crew as his spy. But she's more than willing to play double agent. Many a new characters are introduced and there's hints of something big going on behind the scenes in connection to Lu Ten... The captain finally arrives and backs Zuko in his desire to run off to the NP. So Iroh has to relent. But before they go, they need resources and safe passage so... First stop: Omashu!
While Iroh reconnects with his White Lotus buddy, King Bumi, Zuko is stuck sulking around Omashu. He gets cornered by the Secret Tunnel musicians who make his bad mood their business. To deflect from his Emotions, Zuko talks about his special interest, Yangchen, instead. This leads to the music nomads making a song about Yangchen and her gang, but most notably the chorus is about Yangchen and Akari's love and union...
Iroh gets lectured by Bumi who, rightfully, suspects Zuko knows more than Iroh thinks he does. But Iroh is cautious to the point of being willfully ignorant of the hints Zuko's dropped. So while he trusts Zuko with the story of his own spirit quest in search of Lu Ten's spirit, the reason he's been so stubborn about Zuko going to a spirit gateway, Iroh's still silent about his own anti-war beliefs.
In the North Pole, Pakku grants Iroh and Zuko access to Agna Qel'a and its library on the condition they stay out of sight of everyone. It goes real well until it doesn't. Yue and Zuko meet and nerd out over their shared admiration for Yangchen and her gang. From Yue, Zuko learns a lot of myths and legends beyond Yangchen and gains a better appreciation for oral tradition.
Oh and, also, the Northern Water Tribe actually has roots in dual-bending practices instead of coming off the lion turtles. But, unlike every other instance of dual-benders, they actually have a story as to why they disappeared. So Zuko learns about the Rampant Hunter and the world's fear of mixed elements since his rampage. But there's hope to change the world now with the jerboa returned, and the water/earth narwolves who came out of hiding and revealed themselves to Yue. And of course Eggy waiting to hatch. Zuko shares about Eggy, and his real identity to Yue. They promise to be allies and honor their ancient familiar connection through Yangchen.
Upon getting back to the Sazanami, Zuko learns Iroh arranged for the crew to find the Northern Air Temple for him. So they run off there without much of a break. Teo and his dad welcome Zuko and Iroh. Teo takes Zuko gliding and Zuko is instantly in love with it. His mood is ruined in the temple, however, With a new appreciation and understanding of how much was lost since Air Nomads followed oral traditions like the NWT, Zuko is devastated to see the temple's mural ruined by the Mechanist's work.
However, Zuko is able to come to terms that it is not the refugee's fault that they don't respect a lost civilization. It all comes down to the FN and their war. He shares tales of Yangchen with Teo, who starts to recognize and respect the Air Nomads as his home's first inhabitants, and as role models for his own feelings about taking to the sky... Zuko leaves with a gift of a glider staff of his own. Iroh is so pleased.
Following this quick visit, and the realization that the war is Wrong full stop, Zuko isn't too sure what to do next. He thinks the spirits have been pointing him to bring freedom back to hatch his lóng, and in doing so he'll bring the Avatar back too. So he decides to try to figure out how to do that during an extended shore leave planned for the crew.
What follows is Crew Bonding time Pt 2 :3 Zuko becomes besties with Chanda, a Deaf engineer, and learns sign language. He also starts sparring with and gets to know Kavi, the weapon department head, a survivor of the Siege on Ba Sing Se, and, oh you know, Lu Ten's best friend (partner). Unbeknownst to Zuko (and Iroh), Lu Ten had started an anti-war resistance group, the Wings, that had been undermining the siege. When Lu Ten died, Kavi also almost died, and suffered from amnesia for some time. The other two leaders of the Wings, Jae (Zhao's "bookkeeper") and Fox, their spymaster, had to go underground to avoid being caught up in spy hunts.
So behind the scenes of Zuko making friends, the Wings are re-centering themselves and entertaining the idea of centering themselves around a new prince, if his beliefs happen to align with theirs. Which they do now. Zuko and the Wings joins forces to start a pro-airbender campaign, using the Sazanami as a test group.
Starting with a return to the Western Air Temple, Zuko takes his crew of a Best of Yangchen tour. They visit Lady Tienhai's statue for a picnic full of airbender recipe recreations. Zuko attempts to dive to find the island Kuruk sunk where Yangchen first waterbent. The crew learns the Yangchen song. Zuko gets some matching wing tattoos with Kavi and Amphon. All the while Zuko is making new friends and the crew is doubting their Fire Nation education. Oh and he's writing to Mai again.
We hit 2nd anniversary of banishment around here, but it passes without much fanfare this year. Zuko is too focused on his plotting and scheming to get caught up overthinking things again.
The gran conclusion to Zuko's field trips is rumors of the Avatar in the colony, Yu Dao. He doesn't find the Avatar, but he does find the mayor's daughter, Kori, playing vigilante by mixing fire and earthbending techniques. She was inspired by the Yangchen song to mix firebending with her earthbending and to protect the people of her city. In her, the Wings find a new ally and connection to Yu Dao. Zuko leaves feeling confident in all he's succeed so far.
Only to discover he's been way more successful (and reckless) than he realized bc Chanda's figured out the lies of the Air Army on her own and confronts him to confirm it. The Wings find another member on the Sazanami. :3
And now you're ready to read Ripples Make Waves!
Tumblr media
Zuko's banishment journey so far: A Recap of LTF
A comprehensive summary of each part leading up to the latest, Ripples Make Waves, as requested by Anon. For an added bonus, a visual timeline of where each part falls! Huh, wonder what's happening at the end of autumn year 3...
Year 1
Zuko is banished and healing from the Agni Kai on his ancient warship, the Sazanami. First stop is the Western Air Temple, where he discovers a hidden room dedicated to his ancestor, Princess Akari, and a mysterious egg kept warm in a magical fire. The room is obviously made by Avatar Yangchen, who he was taught had betrayed Princess Akari which led to her death. But the dedication to Akari in Yangchen's home doesn't line up with that... Zuko takes the egg and keeps it a secret, but the seeds are planted to start doubting what he knows about history and the world.
On the way to find the Eastern Air Temple, Zuko starts connecting with his crew, first step is starting medical lessons with the ships medic, Koji. In their first port stop before the EAT, Zuko blows up on the port's commanding officer in defense of his ship's acting captain, Major Hifumi. This solidifies the crew's support of Zuko but oops making enemies in the FN Navy.
At the Eastern Air Temple, Zuko meets Guru Pathik. From him, he learns that Yangchen and Akari were childhood friends, brought together by Akari's spirit dreams. He also learns that Akari died protecting Yangchen, along side Yangchen's earthbending master, Huizhong. This knowledge makes him uncomfortable and he does his best to ignore it, instead focusing on Akari's spirit dreams. He bulldozes his way through his chakra with Pathik in hopes of connecting with the spirits and learning more about his mysterious egg. He can't complete them because his sound chakra is too obstructed by lies. Guru Pathik advises Zuko to discover the truths of the world on his own to eventually unblock his sound chakra.
Zuko decides he's not going to learn any more from the Air Temples and doesn't gun it for the next one. He wanders for a bit, not sure what to do next when he meets Zhao, who gives him a "lead" on the Avatar. The lead, of course, is false, but in the process Zuko is faced with the uncomfortable reality that people of occupied and neutral towns will be distrusting and scared of him if he presents himself as himself. This primes him to be willing to adopt an Earth Kingdom adjacent disguise when Zhao returns to give him another lead for Wan Shi Tong's library.
(He also bonds more with his crew and becomes besties with two of the youngest crew members, Ju Long and Bun Ma. They're from the colonies and open Zuko's eyes to more of the injustices he's been ignorant of.)
In his search for information about the Spirit Library, Zuko creates the identity of Huizhong (aka Hui), a colony-born, aspiring scholar named after Avatar Yangchen's earthbending master who is interested in researching Avatar Yangchen due to his namesake. As Hui, Zuko meets Professor Zei who is more than happy to share his research of Wan Shi Tong's library. Zei also shares his controversial research of ancient civilizations centered around original benders that could bend two elements. One of his theorized animals happens to be a fire/air dragon...
Armed with all he needs to know to search for the Spirit Library, Zuko and Iroh head into Gaoling to hopefully make contact with a sandbender tribe Zei recommended. Zuko meets Toph and they become fast sparring buddies. Toph helps Zuko meet the sandbenders, who were doing business with her father and weren't leaving the Beifong estate. Due to time constraints (and Zuko self-centered recklessness) Zuko strikes a deal by himself with the sandbenders for them to help him search for the library and leaves Iroh behind in Gaoling.
Sarnai and Ghashiun, the sandbender chief's children, are tasked with taking Zuko around on a sand sailer. Sarnai discovers Zuko firebending his egg and promises to keep his bending a secret. In exchange, they tell Zuko a secret about the Si Wong: they aren't just Earth. Once, they were earth and air, and they learned how to bend from giant flying jerboa who bent both elements. But the jerboa have been extinct for so long that they and sandbenders of air are more myth than history.
Ghashiun also learns Zuko is a firebender after he uses his fire to save them from a sand shark. He only agrees to keep it a secret if Zuko and Sarnai accompany him and some of his friends on a raid on a FN caravan. Zuko reluctantly agrees. During the raid, things almost go VERY south, but Zuko, in an act of desperation to help and not expose himself as a firebender, somehow bends the heat out of a firebender's attack.
With the help of Sarnai, he develops a new firebending technique that harnesses the heat of the world around him to bend. It allows him to use a sand sailer by himself, which is fortunate because a Knowledge Seeker appears and he has to leave by himself to follow it.
Finally at Wan Shi Tong's library, Zuko befriends the Knowledge Seekers. He researches the Avatar and comes to the conclusion they're stuck in the spirit world or something. He also researches airbenders and comes to the realization that the Air Army is a lie and the FN was in the wrong. However he's still very conflicted and has deluded himself into thinking that Sozin was tricked somehow, and that the royal family isn't aware of the truth.
While reeling from this discovery, not so giant flying jerboa appear! Wan Shi Tong has been giving them refuge all this time and they enjoy Zuko's heatbending, perhaps why they chose to show themselves to him. Zuko starts doing more research into Yangchen in hopes of learning more about his egg, and eventually is given Yangchen's memoirs by one of the knowledge seekers.
Zuko learns all about Yangchen's life and her friends. In the process, he also learns that his egg is a remnant of a fire/air society, a fire/air dragon called a lóng, and has been waiting to hatch for millennia! Wan Shi Tong cryptically tells Zuko that the lóng will only hatch when freedom has returned to the world...
World view shaken and a new quest on his shoulders, Zuko leaves the spirit library with the jerboa in tow. He leaves them for Sarnai to find and returns to Gaoling. After a quick visit to catch up with Toph, Zuko returns to Iroh and gets a serious lecture. Also learns that Sarnai and Ghashiun lied to their dad that Zuko was an airbender to explain him taking a sand sailer.
Iroh is surprised by Zuko's admiration for Yangchen and hopes this means Zuko has uncovered the truth of the war by himself... but in his probing, he freaks Zuko out. Thinking he'll be branded as a traitor to the FN, Zuko lies that all his research outside of Yangchen was done in the FN wing of the library. So he might admire Yangchen, but the airbenders changed since her time and became the army that threatened the FN in Sozin's time. Iroh backs off... willing to wait for when Zuko is ready to digest the truth.
Zuko wants to go off the spirit gateways and test his theory that the Avatar is lost in the spirit world. Iroh is adamantly against that lol. So Zuko is stuck wandering around for any sort of lead on spirits or the Avatar. To assist his search and identity as Hui, the crew banded together to get him an Earth Kingdom style sailing boat, which Zuko names the Air Lantern after Akari and Yangchen's fire/air bending form.
(Also, Zuko has started writing letters to the girls back in the FN after sending them presents he got while in the desert.)
The anniversary of Zuko's banishment comes around and he has a little bit of a freak out about it. Zhen, the head engineer of the ship, helps him talk through his emotions and in the process learns the truth about the Agni Kai, something that has been a well kept secret from the public despite Zuko thinking otherwise. Zhen has no qualms about spreading this secret now that she knows... Fuck Ozai.

Note
about your CoD post, I honestly would've loved for that to happen, but wouldn't that mean Aang would've died, leaving no way for them to fight Ozai? But at least Zuko would be with them.
What about the missions with the gaang members?
Thanks for the ask ^^ These are all speculations of course, based of Katara succeeding to heal him; so anyone is free to comment and add their own theories.
About your first question: no, I feel like Aang may not have got shot with lightning at all. If Katara healed Zuko, he most likely would have opted to help them fight Azula in the spur of the moment, which might have ended the fight much quicker, thus Aang would have had no need to go into the Avatar state, for him to die.
At the same time, while I believe Zuko would've helped them right then and there, due to his strong emotional connection with Katara and his conflicted feelings, it doesn't also mean he would be free of his past. And if he magically did, it would make for a poor and unfair attempt at freeing him from his memories and erasing his trauma.
Because obviously, the damage that Ozai inflicted isn't just physical, but also psychological. As I said, it was very much needed that he went back to Ozai for him to actively make this decision on his own.
About your second question, they wouldn't know about the Ozai's comet which would be a big problem, but him joining the gaang earlier, would be beneficial in certain aspects:
- he'd still lose his fire-bending especially because there are even more unresolved matters in his mind. Yes, he's free of the scar, but the psychological damage and unresolved trauma still lingers which is where him losing his fire-bending originated. But him and Aang would've found the fire bending masters much much earlier, thus giving them even more time to prepare, which is what the gaang ultimately needed
- he would've still helped Katara, this is a given. She's the one who trusted him first, she's the one who helped him, with whom he had such a strong emotional connection and the main reason he's there. So naturally with even more time to bond together, she would've still confided about her past and what the FN did. He would still actively choose to help, support and validate her feelings, leaving the events in TSR unchanged. (as an added bonus we could've actually seen the much needed tsr aftermath scenes, with Zuko comforting Katara, allowing her to process everything that happened, maybe then they wouldn't cut those scenes like the cowards they are)
- the rescue mission in TBR would probably also extend to him trying to save Iroh (because it would happen much sooner timeline-wise) and then end with them having a much different very heartfelt discussion for his uncle's forgiveness, one that Zuko needs and deserves.
There's a lot of things to discuss or theorise and especially about a new way to fight Ozai, that's a totally different story.
(Because it was because Zuko "chose" the Fire Nation and not joining the gaang in CoD and was there for his father's war meeting that he found out that the Ozai was planning on using the comet in the first place)

MASTERLIST
Chapter 78: The End of a War
You walked back into the meeting, without your faithful guard dog. “Now where will we be sending everyone off to,” you ask your newly appointed Chancellor Hux.
“We have some reason to believe there is a Resistance base in the Outer Rim, on this end of the galaxy somewhere in K-5/6 and L-5/6 sectors. We will be sending heavy reinforcements to that region.” Hux seemed to be confident in the intelligence that you were given.
You considered the tactile plan, “I see and what do we think we will be met with?” You weren’t a military mind, but you needed to be sure that they knew what they were doing, they had failed before and failure wasn’t an option now.
Another First Order general spoke up, “Not much, we have already crippled much of their army, with the destruction of their last base and the several New Republic planets. Mostly this will be to finish them off and to now establish authority across the galaxy.” That’s exactly what you wanted to hear, taking control of the galaxy. Soon it would all be yours.
“So are a portion of the troops going to do that? While others face off in battle?” You knew sending all your fleet to one area would not be a wise decision. The Empire had chosen to do something similar in the past, and you weren’t going to be so stupid.
“Yes, I believe that is the best tactic. You have a phrase from your home planet saying ‘not to put all of your eggs in one basket’ and so by making sure we have a proper disbursement of ships across the galaxy we will maintain our authority.” Hux was an expert at trying to bring things to your understanding. He knew you had little background in any of this, and that you trusted him to make the right decisions. It is why he earned his promotion.
You nodded to him, “Good, Lord Ren will join the forces heading to the base, he has an important mission from me, one that he should not be distracted from.” You needed your husband to complete his mission, but more importantly, you needed him to come back in one piece. You wanted there to be no one in his way.
Hux seemed to understand this. “Of course, Empress. We will make sure he sees his task through without any obstacles.”
You left the meeting, Kylo was off fighting for you on some planet someplace in the galaxy. Hux had told you where but you really didn’t care. All you needed to know was that he was ok and that he was taking care of what you sent him for. It had been three days before you heard they were back. You had been doing various things, making sure the Final Order and First Order’s union was going smoothly. One of your staff came and told you that Kylo had requested in some of the interrogation rooms.
Walking down the hall with Ap’lek and Vicrul by your side, you saw officers and 'troopers dodging out of the way. All of them giving you proper salutes and acknowledgments to you as Empress. You made your way down to the interrogation rooms, pausing in front of the doors of the large one.  Entering you saw an interesting sight, four people chained to the floor, the other Knights of Ren along the back wall, Kylo pacing in front of the prisoners, and Hux and Phasma talking in an opposite corner. It looked like a real party. Vicrul and Ap’lek joined their brothers in arms along the back wall. Doing the usual silent communication thing they did.
You looked at Hux and then Kylo before saying, “What do we have here?” You then looked at the four prisoners, who looked pretty worse for wear.
Hux spoke first, you could tell Kylo was still in beast mode as his Force energy wrapped around you protectively. “These are the last known leaders of the Resistance, unfortunately, we lost a few in battle at no fault to anyone.” The man on the left seemed the most rabid of them all, sneering at Hux.
“Why don’t you tell me who our guests are?” You kept your tone rather light, knowing what was to inevitably come.
The man on the left spat up at Hux, who was closest to him. “Guests? So that’s who we are now?” You could hear the venom dripping from his voice.
Hux looked rather unimpressed at the man who was chained down by his feet. “Poe Dameron General of the Resistance, notorious pilot who has killed millions in this war. He is responsible for blowing up Star Killer Base.” The brunette man glared at him before looking at you, you could see Kylo’s body shift towards him as a sign that he should watch his actions.
You point to the next chained prisoner.
“And him?” He seemed much bulkier than the pilot next to him.
“FN-2187,” responded Phasma first.
“My name is Finn,” spat the man.
Hux continued with his debriefing, “FN-2187 is a General of the Resistance. A defective stormtrooper traitor who has killed his own brothers and sisters in battle. He is partially responsible for the destruction of Star Killer Base.”
“And her?” You pointed to the next prisoner.
“Rose Tico, chief engineer of the Resistance. She and her family fought against the First Order when we annexed her homeworld, and she was crucial to the evacuation of the old resistance base.” Hux seemed rather displeased in particular with her.
“And what about them?” You pointed to the last prisoner.
“Noor Abdallah, a chief information officer of the Resistance. They have foiled many of our attacks by intercepting communications between ships, they helped with the destruction of Star Killer Base.” So this was Carter’s match? A Resistance fight, someone Carter had been dreaming about for years. Someone who now seemed to waste their life before they ever got a chance to meet their other half.
You stepped back for a moment watching your husband pace in front of them. They seemed to regard him as a higher status than you. Something he was not.
FN-2187 pleaded to him, “Rey wouldn’t have wanted this.” Rose seemed to agree.
“You think I cared for the Scavenger? I killed her.” So they thought she could be a bargaining chip to reason with the beast? She held no candle to you, you were the Empress, and she was a dead sand rat. You were his match, and she was nothing.
Poe now seemed to reason with him,  “Leia wouldn’t have wanted you to do this.”
“And what do you know of my mother? She sacrificed herself to save me and her. You know nothing.” Bringing up his mother was a terrible decision on his part. What good did this pilot think he was doing? Did he really think he knew his mother better than he did? Ignorant and cocky is a dead man’s wish.
You were sick and tired of the prisoners ignoring your presence. “So these are some of the people who have outsmarted the First Order for so long?”
Hux responded in kind, “Dameron’s a damn good pilot and FN-2187 was trained as one of our own and was once very promising.” It was noted to you that he did not speak of the others at this point, you wonder just how many squabbles the two men had won against the First Order before you arrived.
You kept your voice aloof, “I see. It’s a shame they choose the wrong outcome in life don’t you think? Working for the Resistance, harboring chaos, defying me? What do you think my love?”
This caught Kylo’s attention, you could see he was shaking with anticipation and power. He wanted blood and now you would let him have it.
“Kill the pilot, the traitor, and the girl. As for Noor, send them to reconditioning, and then to Earth, there is someone there that doesn’t deserve to lose them just yet. Maybe they will reconsider unwise life decisions from now on.” You saved their life for your former friend Carter. You weren’t all heartless, but you knew whoever sided with the Resistance would still call you that. When your back was turned to head out of the room, you heard the crackle of Kylo’s lightsaber and the sound of bodies hitting the floor, you didn’t stick around to see the aftermath, rather you chose to go back to your quarters to prepare the treat you had promised him.
When you arrived you headed immediately to the bedroom where you pulled it out of a closet and laid it on the bed. While he was away, you had asked Vicrul and Ap’lek to fetch it from wherever he had chosen to hide it. It wasn’t a toy for you, but for him. Something to tame the beast for a short time. Something clad in tight black leather that the knights seemed to be fond of. You don’t know if Adlez had sparked the idea within them or if it was something they already enjoyed that she was the perfect outlet to share it with. But the present came with a little accessory, a black riding crop, something to instill obedience within the beast.
You had a newfound confidence that paired nicely with your new ego, your new self. You heard the door to your chambers open and the rush of booted footsteps. He was eager to see where you were, to receive his treat. He entered the bedroom with his helmet on, something you hadn’t considered before, but something to possibly explore at a later time. With the crop in your hand, you ordered, “Strip.”
The helmet came off first with a thud to the floor, his eyes fixated on the instrument in your hand. You could feel his desire pooling around you with the Force, his protection bubble revealing his underlying moods and wants. You watched his eyes grow dark as he obeyed your command, his breathing deepening and his arousal evident. You could tell that the beast was underneath the surface. Once he obeyed your command, you made a simple order again, “Kneel.”
He was already half-hard and growing more erect by the second. You stepped closer to him, his eyes followed you wildly, like a predator watching its prey. You leaned down next to his ear and said, “Now, I believe I promised you a treat for all your hard work. Your knights were so kind as to deliver me our wedding present. I think it’s high time we use it don’t you think? I think my beast deserves it.” You watched his body ripple with pleasure, trying to contain himself, trying to obey your orders.
You grabbed the toy off the bed, “Lean forward.” If it was anyone else, you would have had them lean against the bed for support, but he was just that, a beast. His strength could hold him for however long you needed him in a certain position, his monstrous strength and resilience would make sure of that. The black leather hugged his arms beautifully as you strapped him in and tied him up, the binder allowing you to have full control of the situation at hand. He still had the Force of course, but he seemed less inclined to use it now. Not wanting to disobey you. He was leaning into your touch, desperate for your warmth.
You took one look at him all tied up and were satisfied. “On the bed, on your knees, back to the headboard.” The beast was going to get some training today before you let him free. He scrambled to obey, and he was a sight to behold. He was now fully erect but frustrated at the lack of friction. He moved into the spot you wanted him in. Over the last few days, you put in a simple work order, you needed a few anchors put in the wall. One on each side of the bed and one in the middle for this exact purpose. You grabbed a sturdy chain and hooked it to the anchor and then to the ring in the binder. This would not hold him if he chose to go completely feral, but if he obeyed you, it would serve its purpose. Now your guard dog was chained up, and you were just about ready to let the beast loose.
He tested the chain, as you slowly and teasingly stripped in front of him. The beast wanted to touch you, to take you, but right now you were too far away for that to happen. “Does the beast want a taste?” This earned a snarl in reply. His eyes were wild, and his body was vibrating. You moved in closer. You brought the riding crop against his cheek, the only form of contact between you two at the moment. He wasn’t pleased as he bit the end of it, “Now, now, only good little attack dogs get their treats.” He let go of the crop which you then lightly whacked against his cock, earning a yelp and a thrust of his hips. But he didn’t seem to dislike it as you watched his lower ab muscles clench and his cock twitch. He looked like a wild chained up animal.
You moved in closer, but just out of reach, even though his hands were behind his back you wanted there to be distance yet. “Now are you going to be a good little guard dog and obey me or will you need to be punished some more?” The snarl you received seemed to encourage you to keep punishing him. You randomly whacked him in the abs, ass, thighs, face, and cock for a bit. You could see the pleasure rippling through his body, and the occasional moans of pleasure supported that. You rubbed the head of his cock with the tip of the crop, spreading the pre-cum around. After a few more hits to the dick, he came with a force. His seed covering both of your chests and stomachs. You then wrapped your arms around him and ordered him to clean you up.
The pleasure you received from giving his punishment and his attention and sucking of your breasts, got you close to the edge. You were enjoying everything as much as he did as you leaned back away from him and finished yourself off. On display for him, with your fingers buried in your own cunt. You could hear the chain creak as he pulled against it, wanting so desperately to touch you. But you came too fast to allow that. Once you caught your breath you stared up at him. He was struggling against the hold, desperate for you. You got up and brought your fingers to his lips, allowing him to clean them off before you ordered him to move back on the bed. “Clean me up.” You watched as he eagerly obeyed. His tongue, lips, nose, and teeth buried into your folds cleaning up your fresh juices. The beast loved to nip at the tender flesh, whereas Kylo just kissed and sucked, both had their advantages, but right now it was the beast’s turn.
Once you were confident that you were cleaned up, and that he was just eating you out now you ordered him to stop. Which seemed like it was difficult for him to obey but he did reluctantly. “Stay put.” You got up and moved behind him, propping yourself up on pillows. “Turn around.” He looked wild as he followed orders. The beast was waiting. You spread your legs open for him. His re-hardened cock twitched at the sight, you watched him breathe in and out jaggedly, attempting to keep what little control he had.
You swallowed back your own desire as you commanded, “I want your cock.” That seemed to flip the switch. Even though his arms were chained up behind him, the power of his hips was enough to cause you to scream his name. He thrust deep and hard into you, the beast giving his full power as he relentlessly pounded into you. The grunts, groans, moans, and growls filled the air as the sound of skin slapping filled the room. He bit and sucked at any flesh he could get, marking you up. It didn’t take long for both of your orgasms to crash together. He let out some sort of howl as he did, his name being screamed on your lips. For a few minutes, the beast seemed satisfied.
You struggled to get up, now wanting to unrestrain him so you would at least have one round with him free. He snarled at you as you tried to get up, thinking you were leaving him there. “No, I want to let the good guard dog go. So he can have some freedom.” Your fingers trembled as you removed the straps and undid the ties. You couldn’t really feel your lower body anymore, but you could feel the empty sensation of him not being inside of you. Once he was free it took only a few seconds for him to grab you and slam you back down on the bed. His feral side took over as he aggressively took you again. This time his thrusts hand more purchase as he was able to hold on to you, and the headboard. His hands occasionally groped your breast but they mostly were buried into the meat of your ass.
He filled you up completely, taking no pause as to fuck you deep and hard. The beast is using his full power now. You had promised him a treat and now your tight cunt was delivering it to him. If someone were to walk in on you now, they would probably think a wild animal was fucking you, but it was him. Holding you down, taking you as his own prize. Your breasts are barely able to bounce properly to meet the speed of his thrusts. All you could do was moan like a desperate whore at his deep hard pounding. He locked on to your g-spot and didn’t give up even after you orgasmed. He was looking for two for one as he continued his unrelenting pace. Which he was granted as you finally came together, being filled with his fire you felt completed.
He collapsed on top of you, seeming to hog all of your personal space, completely wrapping around you. It felt protective and possessive as he seemed to use the last of his energy to cover you in kisses. You fed your beast with your own pleasure. He was sated for now. You were now the Empress to the galaxy, and he won that for you.

The problem with lok is that is set too early after atla. Atla's ending left a lot of interesting plots underveloped: zuko's mom, the restoration of the air temples, finding air nomad descendants, azula's everything, toph's parents, zuko becoming fire Lord in a post war nation, even a story about fn nation citizens learning to cope about the aftermaths of what their nation did (hello headbands kids!), etc, etc
Instead lok offers hormonal teenagers screwing up things and making out with each other while the evil communists try to bring them down..nobody isn't interested in that
