Finally finishing off the last designs to create Speeder Parker's perfectly weird sinister six- sorry "Miniature Six."
I decided I wanted The Beetle's powers to stand out more so I specified her species to be a bombardier beetle and gave her a gun that shoots boiling hot caustic liquid. The Human fly's design is completely different cause eh I don't vibe with any of his canon looks. And the Rhino is now a big Russian beetle man. Yeah! :)

Earl P Sidebottom the Phantom of Flying Rhino Junior High is one of those fans who likes a series more for his headcanons and personal interpretations about it rather than the actual content. Not only does he RP his AU fanfiction "mwa ha ha I'm an evil villain" version of Gaston LeRoux's Erik, he claims to be a fan of Frankenstein when he gets angry about someone saying Victor wasn't very smart and about his Frankenstein Monster not being evil when those are like the main point of the book. He straight up calls Victor a role model and that's kinda like saying that about Rick and Joker.

School of All Time Qualifiers
Flying Rhino Junior High from Flying Rhino Junior High
Mayview Middle School from Paranatural
Miskatonic University from Lovecraft
Schoolhouse Rock from Schoolhouse Rock!
Aretuza from The Witcher
The top two schools will advance to the bracket rounds. The third place winner could possibly advance as well if it gets a large enough number of votes.
#yes i know that lovecraft is the name of the author not the piece of media the school is from#but i couldn't be bothered to look it up#and also as a gay jew getting things wrong about lovecraft is actually a politically meaningful act#or maybe i'm just lazy idk#flying rhino junior high#paranatural#lovecraft#schoolhouse rock#the witcher#polls#tumblr polls#bracket tournament

Hi -- I went to the zoo again today! Specifically, my parents and I went to Southwick Zoo in Southwick, Massachusetts, because that was the other zoo that we wanted to go to back in August when I took my vacation, but never got a chance to. It was kind of a cold and icky day, but we had fun looking at all the animals that were out, wandering around the zoo, taking the "train" around the North American Exhibit (the train is actually wheeled like a truck, and you drive on a normal road), and going up on the "Skyfari" ride (where you get a bird's-eye view of a bunch of the exhibits). I figured I'd share some of my favorite pictures from the trip, including --
-->The two-humped camels having their lunch
-->A chimpanzee wandering around its exhibit with a big blue blanket over itself (like, mood, it was chilly)
-->Me posing in one of the "wanted poster" photo ops by the train station (this is actually the kid-sized one, which is why I'm crouched down a little oddly)
-->Two pictures of elk we saw while taking the train ride -- one dude just chilling, the other rubbing up against trees to try and dislodge a branch of a pine tree he'd gotten stuck on him
-->The lions just absolutely conked out in their exhibit
-->A white rhino settling in for a lie-down after having had its lunch
-->One of the pumpkins on display because they're already getting WAY into Halloween there, carved to show the USS Constitution
-->A spider monkey who was watching us as much as we were watching it
-->A couple of emus hanging out in their exhibit (they hung out RIGHT by the fence, it was wild)
-->A Patagonian Cavy (a rodent that, as you can see, kind of resembles a rabbit or hare) hanging out by its water bowl
-->And a wallaby watching us through the fence of its exhibit
It was a good day. :) And actually, I have one more thing to show you in a second...
#pictures#zoo#animals#camel#elk#chimpanzee#rhino#lion#spider monkey#emu#cavy#wallaby#another place we haven't been to in years#it was nice to wander around and see all the animals and such#though I wish it had been a little warmer#I was very cold by the end#...probably why I ended up buying a hoodie from the gift shop XD#and hilariously despite being the one to buy the tickets and insist we have to go on the Skyfari#Mom ended up being TERRIFIED while riding it#she's not good with heights XD#I suppose it doesn't help that this is a ride where your feet dangle#and occasionally your little seat sways while going around corners#really fun though#and if you're wondering why I took a picture of THAT particular pumpkin#well I'm a fan of a particular quest in Fallout 4 XD#to me that ship will always be associated with a hilarious sentry bot and his crew#and be able to fly into buildings XD

How does CC react to the kids from Rhino Junior High? Let's start out with Billy O'Toole, the unofficial leader of the group. She does like him, in fact she has a slight crush, but once he says something about. Don't take offense, but you're a girl. That brings out her inner beast and shows him what a girl can really do if they put their mind to it. She's not afraid to be verbal of her feelings and tell him that the way he was saying actually hurts. He doesn't mean to hurt her, and he does apologize for his actions. But something like sports that they both kind of rub their own engines to beat the other as competitors. Good sportsmanship. Billy does like her.Not in a crushing way like. This girl is my friend and a blue tonic way possible.
Ruby Snarkiness. CC ends up being her no man, not a yes man. Cici does think she's really good and talented. But she needs. To put her down in reality that she's becoming an attention hog. For Ruby, she brings her into the spotlight. You know, as an extra, we all know who's the queen of the stage.
Marcus, Snarkiness. CC is a big sister, so whatever Marcus does with his Megamind, she is always amazed of what he can do, and creativity comes right out of his ears. And she's very happy for him. Occasionally she does question it. Like is it safe? This settled her concern. She does trust him. For her, she can't go overboard with him because he's still a little kid. It doesn't matter how smart he is. For Marcus, He does appreciate and appreciate the feedback and questions.
Lydia Lopez. They're not all that close, but they're cordial for one another. Like they see eye to eye and CC precipitates her brilliance in her book smarts. It's just sometimes it rubs her the wrong way. Because of a book, she becomes a known as all and it leads to CC to call her out many times. Cici does believe that she is strong. Lydia she is neutral towards her. Sometimes they will have a verbal smackdown because CC believes in a different thing than her. It happens. But she enjoys her note taking skills. And when she admits that she's also equally wrong.

RIP David Leland (20.4.1941 - 24.12.2023)
"As I’d left school with no qualifications at all, I was searching for something that I could do that didn’t involve qualifications. I couldn’t go to art school because you had to have an O or A level in art but I discovered that you didn’t need any dreaded qualifications to go to college to study to become an actor and I thought, yes! There we go! I was born to be an actor!"
"I think the writing started during the time I was training to be an actor. We were taught what was known as the Laban Carpenter psychology of movement, theory of movement. It had a language, a jargon attached to it, and we were encouraged to write scenarios – Al Pacino talks about this - which would give you a sensation of how other people behave. We would write scenarios and then perform them to each other and writing became a kind of secret obsession."

The principal's a rhino and no one's asking why
Anyone remember this series? It was a semi-educational cartoon called "Flying Rhino Junior High", which aired on Saturday morning for CBS. It was about these four students of the titular school, who had to defend the place from the attacks of Earl P. Sidebottom, a former straight-A student who went mad after getting a D in shop class and holed himself in the boiler room, calling himself The Phantom. The Phantom would use a computer called The Enviromaster to alter reality within the school's walls, usually based on whatever subject was being studied in class. From there, it would be up to the protags to find a way to fix the school and stop Earl's scheme of the week.
While it's a given that in any kid's show the adults would be of minimal help, Flying Rhino takes this one step further with the school's teaching staff; While Mrs. Snodgrass would incorporate whatever was happening in her lesson, the principal, Mr. Mulligan (Featured in the picture above) would adamantly refuse to acknowledge anything weird or even the Phantom's existence. It's stated in the first episode that Mulligan is just deep in denial.
The series got its title from the educational company Flying Rhinoceros Creativity which produced books as well.
