Lovely Little Girls - Effusive Supreme

Lovely Little Girls is a theatrical art-rock band from Chicago that features members of Cheer-Accident and The Flying Luttenbachers. They specialize in odd harmonies and catchy melodies served with a histrionic flair. “Effusive Supreme”, their third LP for SKiN GRAFT Records, delves into more personal and abstract territory, highlighting the utilitarian and fetishistic relationship to shoes on one track, while enthusiastically accepting ego-death’s indifferent embrace on the next. Equally informed by Magma and Dead Kennedys, Lovely Little Girls pull from a range that runs the gamut yards past the finish line - everything from Esquivel to Toto. Saw THE FLYING LUTTENBACHERS in my buddy's basement the other night. Some great psychedelic brutal prog no-wave free jazz math punk face melter stuff. This was a great show in a great place.

I'm not really into the punk house thing anymore as much as I used to be, so I really appreciated that this was that, but for weird outsider artists who are all about experimental music. Yeah we're there to be merry and have a good time, but it's for the love of art, not as an excuse to act like a jerk.

I hear this is more like what it used to be like in the 70s for that kinda stuff if you found the right people, back when this was more the norm. It's something I can very much get behind. I went to punk house shows to party and do substances. I go to something like this because it genuinely caters to my interests and creates a very positive space for like-minded people.

Because before the main set, there was an hour long "5 Minute Fest" that me and my partner and some friends played. Anyone who brings gear is invited to play. Everyone sets up, makes sure they're good to go, and then once we figure out a playing order, we go around the room, and everyone plays a five minute solo improv set, and then that will just roll into the next person's set, not stopping, back to back. And it was super cool and a good excuse to make some noise.

I had a great time at this. It was much needed.

しゃべフェス……会話が雑談すぎる！１５分くらい話す感じの最初の２分をしてしまった 反省

昔のような緊張は良くも悪くももうあんまりないけど反省だけは毎回している これからも毎回するだろう……

飛行機が前大いに遅れたのがトラウマで飛行機使いたくないなあと思いつつの飛行機だった 早くて…… 結果バッチリ定刻着 ちゃんと飛んだらちゃんと着くね ただ、もうすぐ着くか、もうすぐ着くか、が長くて苦手だ 飛行機は ソワソワしちゃう

そして降り立った先でバスに乗ろうとしたら次の便はないしGWだから道路状況どうなっても知らんぞと脅され電車 結構バタバタしてしまった そして移動しながら推しが武道館いってくれたら死ぬの最新話を読むなど いよいよ引退編とかやりだしてるので…… 昔はコメディだと思って読んでいたこの漫画が他人事じゃなくなってるみたいなのは前も書いた気がする

オタク共とは現地で「散！」して我は渋谷へ 結局レコ屋 flying luttenbachersの2002年のMagmaのDe futuraのカバーは言ってるやつのアナログ手に入ったのが最高 こんなの探してたら絶対見つからない

エリックサウスで夕食 モダンインディアン 美味しかった…… ソロでコースで3時間はなかなか長いけど意外と行けたな 春野菜と赤レンズ豆のスープは結構近いところまでは再現できそうな予感がする しかしめちゃくちゃ美味しかったものを再現しようとして微妙になる予感もする また来たいな……

明日は……チェックアウト10時 ユニオンの開店が11時だからどっかでお茶したい？あとは……インターメディアテクとか行きたい しかしバズってるツイートを見て思い出したやつなので混んでそうだ いやだ あと……？そうだ、まいばすけっとに行きたい 東京の乾きってまいばすけっとにあるはずだから 全く観光地ではないけど 行きたいね 飛行機は19時羽田 18時位には一応空港つくか？しかし持て余しそうだ なんか適当にウロウロしてもいいんだけど なんかあったかな しかし思い出していくような場所は激混みの予感が そのほか……そのほかなにしようか

MOZO MOZO - Maschine - power skronk from Vienna

Mozo Mozo was founded in 2018. Moritz Haberkorn (guitar, FX), Michael Masen (sax), Christoph Kirmaier (bass, FX) and Lukas Wöber (drums) played many intense session before forming the group. Their aim was to bring original free jazz to a young audience. Their live shows are legendary - their gigs are complex, performative and combine elements of jazz and rock. In 2021 Felix Linhart took Moritz Haberkorn's place with the former concentrating more on his solo projects like Morast. The name Mozo Mozo is open to many interpretations. In Japanese, mozo means cozy or cuddly, in Spanish it means waiter or young man. The group was and is inspired by artists like Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Zu, John Zorn, Balázs Pándi or Flying Luttenbachers but aims to create their unique interpretation of highly energetic virtuoso live music. The band use their own tool, the Mozo Machine, to direct them through both their gigs and the recording of this album. Mozo Mozo are playing many live shows and have supported groups like Old Time Relijun or Blurt. If you are a fan wild free jazz, this is a must have. Think Blurt, John Zorn or Flying Luttenbachers and you know what we are talking about.
