How to Schedule Convenient Appointments at a Dentist Office Near Me
In today's fast-paced world, finding time for dental appointments can often feel like a daunting task. Between work commitments, family obligations, and the hustle of daily life, many individuals struggle to prioritize their oral health. However, scheduling a convenient appointment at a dentist office near me doesn’t have to be an overwhelming experience. With the right approach and understanding of the process, one can easily navigate their way to a healthier smile.
Tumblr media
Understanding the Importance of Regular Dental Check-ups
Regular dental visits are crucial for maintaining oral health. These appointments not only help in preventing cavities and gum disease but also allow for early detection of potential issues. Many people underestimate the significance of preventive care, often waiting until problems arise before seeking help. By prioritizing regular check-ups, individuals can avoid more complex procedures in the future, saving time and maintaining optimal dental health.
Moreover, the relationship between dental health and overall wellness is increasingly recognized. Poor oral hygiene can lead to serious health complications, including heart disease and diabetes. Therefore, making dental appointments a part of one’s routine is not just about maintaining a bright smile; it’s about ensuring long-term health. This understanding can motivate individuals to seek out a dentist office near them that offers convenient scheduling options.
Finding the Right Dentist Office Near Me
The first step in scheduling a convenient appointment is finding a reputable dentist office nearby. To do this effectively, individuals should consider several factors, including location, office hours, and the range of services offered. A dentist office that is easily accessible can reduce travel time and make it simpler to fit appointments into busy schedules.
Utilizing online resources can significantly aid in the search process. Many dental offices now have user-friendly websites that provide essential information about their services, staff qualifications, and patient reviews. Additionally, social media platforms often feature community feedback, allowing potential patients to gauge the quality of care provided. By researching local options, individuals can identify a dentist office that aligns with their needs and preferences.
Utilizing Online Scheduling Tools
Once a suitable dentist office has been identified, the next step is to schedule an appointment. Fortunately, many modern dental practices offer online scheduling tools that streamline the booking process. These platforms allow patients to view available time slots and select an appointment that fits their schedule without the need for phone calls or waiting for office hours.
Online scheduling not only saves time but also provides the flexibility to choose appointments during non-traditional hours. For instance, individuals can often find early morning or late evening slots that accommodate their work schedules. This convenience helps to reduce the barrier of time constraints, making it easier for patients to prioritize their dental visits.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Preparation is key to ensuring that the dental visit goes smoothly. Before the appointment, individuals should gather all necessary information, such as insurance details and medical history. This preparation can expedite the check-in process and ensure that the dentist has all the relevant information for a thorough examination.
Additionally, it's advisable to jot down any questions or concerns that may arise before the visit. This proactive approach encourages open communication with the dentist, ensuring that all aspects of oral health are discussed. Patients should feel empowered to discuss their dental anxieties or ask about specific treatments during their appointment. A good dentist will welcome such discussions, fostering a comfortable and trusting environment.
Communicating with the Dental Office
Effective communication with the dental office is paramount for scheduling appointments that suit individual needs. Patients should not hesitate to reach out to the office to discuss their preferences regarding appointment times or to inquire about specific services. Staff members are generally trained to assist patients in finding the most suitable options, ensuring a pleasant experience.
If an unexpected situation arises, such as a scheduling conflict or a sudden dental issue, the ability to communicate changes promptly is essential. Many dental offices are accommodating when it comes to rescheduling, especially when patients reach out in advance. This flexibility allows individuals to maintain their commitment to oral health without added stress.
Establishing a Routine for Dental Visits
To make dental care a consistent part of life, individuals should establish a routine for their visits. By scheduling appointments at regular intervals, such as every six months, patients can cultivate a habit of prioritizing their oral health. Setting reminders on personal calendars or using dental office reminder services can help in maintaining this routine.
In addition to regular check-ups, individuals should also consider scheduling follow-up appointments if recommended by their dentist. Whether it involves a cleaning, a filling, or a consultation, staying on top of these visits can prevent minor issues from escalating into major problems. This proactive stance is crucial for sustaining long-term oral health and wellbeing.
Conclusion
Scheduling convenient appointments at a dentist office near you is a straightforward process when approached systematically. By understanding the importance of regular dental check-ups, utilizing online resources, and communicating effectively with the dental office, individuals can ensure that their oral health remains a priority. Establishing a routine and preparing adequately for appointments further enhances the experience.
For those seeking a reliable and welcoming dental practice, Flushing Family Dentistry exemplifies the qualities that make dental visits a breeze. With a commitment to patient care, flexible scheduling options, and a focus on preventive health, this practice ensures that individuals can easily maintain their oral health without the stress of complicated scheduling. Take the first step toward a healthier smile today by reaching out to Flushing Family Dentistry for your next appointment.

Waking up to Scara fucking you🛐🛐🛐🛐
Scaramouche x fem!reader. Smut. Consensual Somnophilia. Fingering. Creampie.
😳Omg yes, please. I am doing pretty okay since my dental surgery. I am still quite sore, so I got really self indulgent with this.
Scaramouche sat down on the bed, looking down at your sleeping form. You looked so sweet, and delicate. So vulnerable and defenseless. It sent him reeling that you trusted him enough to fall asleep around him.
You deserved nothing less than to fucked full of his cum.
He ran his fingers through your hair, trailing them down your body. You shivered, stirring a little in your sleep as his fingertips brushed over your nipples. How kind of you to sleep only in your panties. You'd provided him with such a tempting view to look over at while he worked.
His hand dropped down to cup your cunt outside of your panties. He rubbed his fingers on your clit, rapidly dampening the fabric of your panties. You sighed softly, unconsciously twitching your hips into his fingers.
You were always so responsive to him, even while you slept. Scaramouche gave your clit a few appreciative rubs before hooking his fingers through your panties to carefully take them off.
He spread the folds of your cunt, gathering your slick on his fingers before pushing them inside. This keened a louder sigh from you, followed by another when he scissored your walls apart to hook them into your sweet spot.
As much as he wanted to stuff you full of his cock right then and there, he knew he had to prepare you. You were in such a relaxed, deep sleep that he didn't want to hurt you in a sudden fit of greed.
To further stimulate you, he fondled and pinched one of your nipples as he slowly pumped two fingers in and out of you. When your slick was coating his wrist and his fingers squelching in and out of you, drawing the sweetest sleepy mewls from your pretty mouth, he knew you were ready for his cock.
"Is my pretty girl feeling good?" Scaramouche cooed softly, spreading your legs. He pumped his hand on his hard, leaking cock before lining it up with your entrance. His thumb rubbed slow circles on your swollen clit as he pushed his cock inside you.
He hissed through his teeth in pleasure, your walls always stretched apart perfectly to accommodate him, like your cunt was made for his cock. You moaned softly in your sleep, the head of his cock nudging into your sweet spot.
Scaramouche snapped his hips a little harder with each thrust, pinching and rubbing your clit when your walls started to clamp around his cock. He smirked when your eyes suddenly snapped open, a knee jerk response to the intense pleasure curling inside of you.
You gasped, rolling your hips up into his thrusts. "Shh, relax and take all of my cock like the good girl you always are for me," He leaned down to lick and nip at your lips before swallowing your moans with a kiss.
Your cheeks flushed. You always loved when Scaramouche called you a good girl. It always made your walls clamp tighter around his cock. It always made you cling to him in the way that he needed.
He bent one of your legs up towards your chest to fuck himself deeper into you, caressing your cheek as he moaned huskily into your mouth.
Scaramouche only pulled away from your lips for a few moments to let you breathe before stealing them right back up again. He still drove his cock into your sweet spot after you squirted, crying out in pleasure muffled into his mouth.
The most delicious moan for his lips to swallow was the one you let out when his cock throbbed cum inside of you, seeping from your drooling hole and down your cunt. He always took such great care to fill you full.

eating disorder harm reduction
no one ever compiled this so that it what we are doing today. for people with eds and people whose loved ones do. please note: i’m not a doctor. this is a compilation of things from books and ed resource sites.
for people whose loved ones have an eating disorder:
try to make sure they know these things.
try not to force them to eat, they might feel uncomfortable eating in front of people. also, risk of refeeding syndrome.
if their life is in danger and you are seeking help for them, consult the person beforehand to make sure they will be safe and give them a heads-up so that they aren’t startled (especially if they’re neurodivergent! giving them notice will aid control!)
offer them ways of controlling things aside from food - practice consent, include them in conversations, don’t talk about them behind their back, compliment their makeup or hair.
be patient. the person may be irritable from lack of sleep, feelings of depression, worthlessness, etc., or malnutrition.
keep in mind that you can’t tell if someone has an eating disorder by looking at them. people of all weights do - only 17% of anorexics are underweight - and also, men and non binary people can also have eds.
general:
drink lots of water, especially if you’re drinking lots of caffeine.
drink some electrolytes at least once a week - gatorade, electrolyte tablets, coconut water, doesn’t matter, just get it into your system.
if you are getting dizzy or flushed and can feel your heart beating, quick carbs will raise your blood sugar - sweets, bread, fruit, juice, non diet soda, whatever. keep snacks around pls.
your brain uses 400-500 calories daily. eat more than this.
take your supplements!
you still need protein, have an egg or something.
don’t take adderal or insulin unless you are actually diabetic or neurodivergent, because you are raising the price by buying them and denying access to those who need it.
throw a towel over the mirror. it’s not worth it if it’ll cause you anxiety.
try to limit disordered behaviours like body checking, purging, and weigh ins.
practice good dental hygiene.
put your scale somewhere where you have to actively look for it to weigh yourself.
avoid social media and for your sake don’t go on pro ed tiktok or tumblr or twitter or insta.
get a buddy who also struggles with the same thing if possible to support each other.
get regular medical check ups (if you can afford it)
practice things within your control - makeup, hair, clothing, etc.
push your rules - eat 5 minutes before your time, or 50 calories over your limit.
for people with restrictive disorders (e.g. anorexia):
do weight and resistance training at least twice a week to prevent musculoskeletal conditions such as osteoporosis.
don’t drink on an empty stomach.
try to put gaps between fasting periods.
don’t fast for more than 72 hours.
wear lots of layers to keep warm.
eat an extra 100-200 calories on your period if you menstruate.
have a metabolism day.
take care of your hair.
as horrifying as this is to many people, please go to the hospital if you’re experiencing heart problems or if you’re passing out for more than 30 seconds.
for people with purging disorders (e.g. bulimia):
if you would like to purge, wait 15 minutes first.
after purging: drink lots of water - the emptiness you feel is dehydration. don’t brush your teeth but rinse your mouth out, preferably with an alkaline mouthwash or baking soda mixed into water. do something you want to do, like reading a book or watching a show. don’t smoke. don’t have anything acidic. eat a banana or some chocolate or a rice cake to keep your blood sugar levels in check.
if you vomit blood or your vomit looks like coffee grounds, this is a sign of internal bleeding. you could be drowning in your own blood from a hole in your esophagus, essentially. go to the hospital or call 911/999/the emergency number in your area.
stay safe everyone. i hope this helps. also, i do not use these tags - i have them blocked - but i am using them so that people on these tags will find this because they need it most.

Fandom: Masters of the Air
Pairing: Buck/Bucky
Rating, word count: T, 4k
Summary: John takes care of Gale after his wisdom teeth surgery. (young vets au)
A/N: This is my gift to the amazing, sweet @bcolfanfic in the HBO War Summer Exchange organized by @hbowardaily (thank you for all your work!). My prompt was hurt/comfort with Buck and Bucky, preferably in the young vets au. Mollie, I hope you'll like what I came up with, I tried to do your lovely au justice. Happy exchange day, dear 💕
Link to the AO3 post
Bucky taps his right foot against the ugly brown-gray vinyl of the waiting room's floor, trying to focus. Goosebumps skitter down his arms, but he doesn’t know if it’s from the cold air blasting from the dental clinic's AC to combat the summer heat or if it’s a symptom of his mounting anxiety. Somewhere behind the door he has been staring at for the better half of an hour, Gale is getting his wisdom teeth pulled out under general anesthesia. He’s unconscious, at their mercy. What if something goes wrong? What if they measured the drugs incorrectly and he never wakes up? What if there are complications and he wakes up in excruciating pain? Bucky bounces his knee and digs the fingers of his right hand into the back of his left in a white-knuckled grip. The faux-leather chair creaks under him, barely containing his bulk.
When his ears pick up on the blare of an approaching ambulance, his head snaps up like a hypervigilant dog’s. It’s not coming here, the rational part of his mind reasons. Everything is okay with Gale. No complications, just a clean, routine surgery, and he’ll be back to normal in a few days. But the sound of the siren keeps getting louder. It’s impossible to ignore it. Bucky’s pounding heartbeat plays a cresting drum solo to accompany it. His mind jumps back to that dreadful night when he tried to end it all. How the ambulance sped with him through those dark Wyoming roads, the long hours when he could barely tell if he was dead or alive, and whether life was the better option out of the two. The most fretful sleep he has ever had.
He remembers how Gale followed him with the car all the way there in the middle of the night. Seven hours. What if Bucky has to do the same for him? What if something happened in there, behind that dark door, and the ambulance is coming to take Gale and rush him to the ER?
Nervous sweat gathers under Bucky's arms, soaking into his short-sleeved shirt. After they’d called Gale in for his surgery, he went down a rabbit hole of Reddit posts and articles describing the most horrifying wisdom teeth surgery outcomes until he felt like he was going to throw up. He was itching for a smoke - or better yet, a drink, since he has a flask hidden in the glove compartment of the car - but he held himself back. Gale needs him to be at full capacity today. He’s determined to stay firmly planted in his seat until they call for him to take Gale home.
His leg continues jiggling in agitation until the ambulance comes into view through the wide windows of the clinic. Bucky clenches his teeth, but it just speeds down the road in a plume of dust, its destination unknown. It wasn’t coming to the dental clinic.
Never even blinking, he keeps staring at the window in utter stillness for a long moment before he finally relaxes. When he sinks back in his chair and looks around the room, several pairs of eyes flicker away. The flush of embarrassment creeps up his neck, especially when he spots a teary-eyed kid with trembling lips clinging to his mom. Fuck, Croz was right not to let him babysit in the state he's in. He’s not fit to be around children. Not fit to be around anyone, he thinks with a dark tone. He’s in public, completely sober, and still, he can’t get a grip on himself and ended up scaring a child, who must have already been in need of comfort because dentists are freakin’ scary. What would Bucky’s episodes do to a kid of his own? No, he can’t subject anyone to that. He can’t even bring himself to think about it. It’s more than enough to see how badly it affects Gale, and Gale is a grown-ass man who sticks around out of his own volition. Before he could even consider parenthood, he needs to get better first.
“Don’t worry, dear.” The elderly woman sitting next to him tells him gently and pats the back of Bucky’s linked hands. “They’re the best around here. They’ll sort your teeth out before you know it. You won’t feel a thing.”
Bucky clears his throat and croaks out a thanks, glancing around and finding strangers turning away again as they get startled by him looking back. He knows his ears must be bright red. I’m a veteran, he wants to tell them. The shit I’ve seen doesn’t go away just like that. But what kind of an excuse is that? By all means, he should have already recovered. He’s not the one whose leg - He shuts that thought down before he could spiral deeper into it. This is neither the place, nor the time. Gale depends on him. He had tried to postpone his own surgery because of Bucky’s issues until his sister found out about it and had a tense talk with both of them. What does that say about Bucky as a husband? It’s high time for him to step up and show Gale that he’s there for Gale too, not just the other way around. He can’t let him down by causing a scene or freaking out.
Besides, it’s nice not to be “the crazy vet” for once. Now, he’s just the hulking guy with the dentist phobia. Marginally better.
He spins his wedding band around his finger to distract himself. He wants to text Curt just to have someone tell him he’s an idiot to worry and nothing’s gonna happen, but he holds himself back. His incessant unhinged texts and calls are enough of a burden already. He’ll manage this on his own for as long as he can.
Suddenly, the door swings open and the peppy assistant steps out, smiling as she calls for “Mr. Egan.”
Bucky goes deaf and blind from nerves for a split second before he stands up, wipes his clammy palms on his thighs and makes his shaky legs carry him to follow after the woman. She smiles at him warmly as if she hasn’t noticed.
“Did -” Bucky clears his throat again once they're inside. He struggles with the words, feeling awkward. This place is nothing like the psych ward, but clinical environments will probably never fail to unsettle him. “Did it go all right?”
“Yes, everything went well. All impacted teeth have been removed without any complications.” She directs her cheerful expression at him again as they walk past the operatory. “Mr. Cleven is just through here, in our recovery room.”
She gestures at the second door they’re approaching. “He’ll be a bit dazed and confused, and he might not be in control of what he says, but remember that this is perfectly normal after anesthesia. Try to reassure him and keep him calm. He needs to stay in the recovery room for at least thirty minutes, then the doctor’s going to check if everything is all right, and whether Mr. Cleven is able to stand and walk on his own.” Her reassuring smile never wavers, and her persistence pays off - Bucky feels the worst of his anxiety drain from his body. “If all is well, he’ll be discharged and you can take him home.”
Bucky nods, feeling slightly dazed himself. He already knew what to expect, but he doesn’t know what the reality of that is going to look like. Gale was so anxious about this part beforehand, and it’s easy to understand why. Helplessness and loss of control would be scary to anyone, but to Gale? It’s a nightmare. He was so scared of it that he refused his sister’s offer to be here in Bucky’s place. I’m not letting anyone else see me like that, John, he said when Bucky tried to discuss whether that would have been the better idea instead. Bucky can only hope that he can provide him enough support.
He exchanges a few more words and a quiet thanks with the assistant, then pushes the door handle hesitantly.
The room is specifically designed to be a calming space for recovery after procedures requiring anesthesia. It’s quiet, the walls are painted in warm beiges and browns, and the lights are much dimmer than the harsh neon of the operatory. There’s a small cot in one corner and several padded chairs scattered around. Opposite, close to a door with a bathroom sign, a comfy-looking brown recliner armchair takes up the space. That’s where Bucky finds Gale sitting with his feet propped up and his hands limp on the armrests as though the staff arranged him like that themselves. Gale watches him silently, with hooded blue eyes that match his t-shirt and a displeased downward curve of his mouth that makes him look like a cat. There’s gauze sticking out between his lips, but otherwise, he looks fine.
Bucky feels like the sharp inhale of relief he takes is the first one since he saw Gale walk inside.
“Hi sweetheart.” He says gently as he pads over to Gale and pulls up a chair on Gale’s right side. He doesn’t know why he lowers his voice. It’s not as if speaking louder would hurt Gale. He feels ridiculous for it, but it’s instinctive. He hopes Gale doesn’t mind. With a sigh, he sits down and takes Gale’s hand.
Gale pulls it away sluggishly. “Don’t touch me.”
Bucky’s heart freezes in his chest at those slurred words. Is Gale angry with him? Or is he in pain, maybe? How can Bucky make it better? “I’m sorry. I won’t touch you if you don’t want me to.”
At a snail’s pace, Gale turns his head to direct his hazy gaze at the door. “You’re handsome but I have a husband, you know.” He mumbles, barely able to get the words out clear enough to be understood. “I’m not a widower.”
The way Bucky’s heart sinks leaves him lightheaded. He has seen a lot of videos about people saying weird things after sedation and he laughed heartily at them all. But there’s nothing funny about this. Nothing. Not being recognized wounds already, but it’s Gale’s second sentence that leaves him truly speechless with guilt and grief. It sounded like Gale was trying to reassure himself that he does, indeed, still have a husband. That the bullet went into the wall, and Bucky to the psych ward instead of the cemetery. There’s nothing funny about hearing Gale unintentionally admit that he thought he might become a widower.
“I know.” Bucky tells him, trying not to get overwhelmed. “I know, darling. It’s me. I’m your husband.”
Gale frowns at the door and blinks slowly, not turning back to Bucky. “My husband is a soldier. A soldier… Your’re in jeans.”
It takes a second for Bucky to make sense of the logic of Gale’s jumbled thoughts and realize that he expected someone in uniform. He’s not sure how to argue with that, so he just bites his lip and reaches for Gale’s hand again. He remembers not to touch only at the last moment, so his hand is left hanging awkwardly on the armrest. Gale’s head tilts as he looks down at it. Slowly, he touches Bucky’s ring with a fingertip and tries to spin it on Bucky’s finger, but his strength leaves him after a moment and he lets his hand drop into Bucky’s open palm. Bucky shifts to hold it properly. This time, Gale doesn’t protest.
“Gale, look at me, sweetheart. It’s me, John. Bucky.”
Gale’s pale blue eyes find his, blink a few times, then Gale’s lips split into a loopy smile that Bucky finds adorable despite the gauze sticking out of his mouth.
“John!” Gale exclaims, startling Bucky with the volume. “I missed you!”
Despite the fact that he’s still reeling from the reminder that he almost left Gale forever, Bucky can’t help but smile back. “I missed you too. How are you feeling?”
Gale gives him a stricken look and wetness wells up in his eyes. He tries to reach for his own face but seems to decide that he doesn’t have the strength to do it after all and lets his free hand drop back in his lap. “They took all my teeth.” He sniffles.
“No, they didn’t. Don’t worry, they’re still there.”
“They took them!” Gale insists, waving with his arm. He drops his head back against the chair, closes his eyes and makes a crying sound. “I have no teeth and you won’t love me anymore.”
Rationally, Bucky knows that he and Gale are going to laugh at some of the things Gale is saying right now, once Gale is back to himself, but he still feels his heart ache from how vulnerable Gale is like this. What if Bucky couldn't be here? What if the bullet hadn’t gone into the wall, but hit its target instead? Bucky’s guilt intensifies until he can barely take it. He pulls Gale’s hand to his lips and presses a kiss to it. “Do you trust me?”
Gale looks up at him with watery eyes. “Yes.”
“I would still love you without teeth, Gale. But they didn’t take all your teeth, I promise. Only your wisdom teeth.”
“You still love me?” The words stumble wetly from Gale’s mouth. He ignores the rest of what Bucky told him.
“Of course I love you.” Bucky smiles and presses another kiss to Gale’s hand, to which Gale’s reaction is patting at Bucky’s mouth clumsily. He rubs at Bucky’s moustache, seemingly fascinated by those short whiskers of hair. He looks lost in his delirious thoughts. Bucky lets him - he doesn’t think he could deny Gale anything now, so overcome he is with fondness.
“I wanted a bunny.” Gale says mournfully. His articulation is getting better, but his eyes are still unfocused and he clearly doesn’t have any of his filters working. “For my birthday. A black bunny. Not white because white bunnies have red eyes.”
Bucky can’t help it, he snorts a laugh. Gale snickers along with him, completely out of it. Gently, Bucky pulls Gale’s hand away and holds it in his own. “This year?” Probably not, but it’s a hilarious thought nonetheless.
Gale doesn’t answer. He stares at Bucky, narrows his eyes, then widens them in a look of wonder and glances around the room. His head tilts in a way that suggests he can barely hold it up. “Whoa, can we get one of these chairs?”
A frown pulls at Bucky’s eyebrows. “Which ones?”
“The blue ones.” Gale says, pointing shakily at the corner of the room that’s set up for children. There’s a low table with sheets of paper and crayons scattered on it, and around it, a few plastic kid chairs.
Bucky stifles another laugh. “Those are for kids, baby. I know you keep saying I’m a big child, but I don’t think that could hold my weight.”
Gale hums. It stretches out so long that it’s like a growl, as if he enjoys the vibration of his own voice and doesn’t want to stop until he runs out of breath. “‘s for our kid.”
Bucky’s smile falls. “Our kid?”
They haven’t talked about that since Bucky’s… Since the worst night of his life. It was clear as day that they couldn’t bring another soul into the mess he caused with his fucked-up mental health. Gale never mentioned it, never even hinted at it since that night. The longing is still there in his eyes whenever he sees Bucky play with children, but this is the first time that Bucky heard it from his mouth that he wants a kid. That he still wants it, after everything.
“I think they’d like it, it’s - it’s -” Gale doesn’t finish his thought out loud, but jumps straight to the next. “You’d be a wonderful dad. The best dad. I’ve thought it all out.” He nods to himself. “The best dad.”
For the second time since he entered the room, Bucky’s heart contracts painfully. “I'm not fit to be a dad, Gale. Not now.”
Gale makes a sudden, wide gesture of frustration and hits Bucky’s arm by accident, but it’s too weak to hurt. “Told you I’d thought it all out.” He mumbles something unintelligible, then drops his head back against the chair. “You take good care of your plants. The plants love you, John. They’re beautiful.” He takes a deep breath and sighs as if settling down to sleep. “I love you too.”
Bucky doesn’t know what to say, so he just swipes his thumb back and forth over the back of Gale’s hand and goes for humor. “And you’re beautiful. I think I see a pattern there.”
“Yes, I’m beautiful.” Gale smiles, as if anything Bucky told him now was a universal truth. "You’re not allowed to kiss me."
Bucky bites back a grin. He may not be allowed but it sounds like Gale certainly wants him to break that rule. "Why not?"
"Dangerous." Gale pouts and touches his own lips. Before he could stick his fingers in his mouth to explore what must be a weird sensation of numbness in there, Bucky grabs his wrist and pulls it away.
"How about a kiss on the cheek, hm?" He shakes Gale’s hands playfully. He knows he shouldn't French kiss Gale for 24 hours after surgery, but that doesn’t mean that everything is off the table. "I think that’s allowed."
After a moment of contemplative silence, Gale gives him an uncoordinated nod. "Only if you keep it a secret."
"Deal." Bucky chuckles and presses a kiss to Gale’s cheek, where it curves like an apple whenever Gale smiles wide.
“Can we go home now?” He hears Gale ask when he pulls back.
He glances at the clock on the wall. “We need to stay here for a few more minutes. Just until you feel better.”
“Oh, okay.” Gale says, then, immediately after, “I feel better.”
“You need to be able to walk first.”
Gale’s eyes snap open and he starts wrestling with gravity to pull himself up and out of the chair. “I can walk.”
Bucky tries to nudge him back down. “Don’t be impatient. We’re not running anywhere, are we?”
“I’m running.” Gale declares with all the determination and none of the muscle control needed for a normal gait. He pushes himself to the edge of the armchair, which already proves to be a struggle, then he turns sideways instead of tilting the recliner back into its default position. “I’m good at it.”
“Easy, easy.” Bucky stands up and places his hands on Gale’s shoulders lightly. An amused smile plays around his lips. “Why don’t you stay put, just for a little while more? Hm?”
A small, frustrated grunt escapes Gale’s lips as he tries to push himself up. “I can do it.”
“Gale, sit your ass down.”
The forlorn look on Gale’s face makes Bucky’s smile widen in fondness.
Gale glares at him, profoundly annoyed. “I can walk. I could do a cartwheel. I just don’t want to.”
“Sure you could.”
“I’m the best at cartwheels. The best. Better than you. I practiced in our backyard.”
“Our backyard?”
“I don’t know.” Gale huffs, then shakes his head. “Practiced after school.”
Bucky bites his bottom lip to keep from grinning. It must have been primary or middle school then. He imagines a wildly blond ten-year-old falling all over himself in the grass, stubborn to get it right. “Did you wanna impress someone?”
Gale hums in agreement, then hugs Bucky around the waist with his trembling arms. He pushes his forehead against Bucky’s stomach. “John, I wanna go home.”
“Shh.” Bucky soothes him, stroking his hair. When he puts a hand on each of Gale’s arms, Gale goes completely limp. He lets Bucky hold him up. “I’ll take you home in no time.”
“Can we go to Subway first?” Gale’s voice is muffled in his shirt. It’s not terribly slurred anymore, but it isn’t clear and measured either. “Like a date? Like a Bagram date. Can you take me back to Bagram? I wanna flirt with you.”
Bucky laughs softly and rocks them back and forth in place. He doesn’t like to think of Bagram, but the memories of their Subway dates remain bright, happy spots like a string of fairy lights in the clusterfuck of darkness the rest of it became. He makes a mental note to take Gale out on a date once he’s allowed to eat solid food again. “You don’t need to go back to Bagram to flirt with me.”
“I’m flirting with you now.” Gale says automatically, and tightens his arms around Bucky’s waist. “I think it’s working.”
Bucky grins and pushes a hand under the collar of Gale’s shirt to stroke his back the way Gale likes it. “Yeah? What gave me away?”
As he turns his head sideways, Bucky can see that Gale’s eyes are closed, and he’s smiling. “Just a gut feeling.” Gale hums contemplatively. “And Curt says so too.”
“Curt, huh?”
“Curt loves you too.”
Golden warmth spreads through Bucky’s chest. It’s strange that marriage can feel like this sometimes. Affection so deep that it wounds. “Makes sense, since he claims to be a pretty boy.”
Gale giggles.
They stay embracing like that until Gale’s dentist comes back to check if he can be discharged.
~♡~
On the way home, in the familiar safety of their car, Gale gets even chattier than before. He narrates the entire drive, happy and relaxed, and sings along to the Fleetwood Mac songs Bucky put in his playlist. It’s only when Bucky turns the car onto their driveway that he quiets down. He doesn’t say anything when they stop, not even when Bucky gives him a reassuring smile. He stays silent even as Bucky climbs out of the car, circles around to his side and unbuckles his seatbelt. However, as Bucky helps him out of his seat, his limbs start trembling again.
At first, Bucky thinks it's muscle weakness, but when he loops Gale’s arm around his shoulders to walk him inside, Gale’s steps are steadier than he expected. He guides Gale into the bedroom and helps him lie down under the covers, but still, Gale doesn’t stop shaking. He’s very lethargic now, but when Bucky sits on the mattress beside him and runs a hand through his blond hair, his lips curl into a faint smile.
“Do you need anything?” Bucky asks quietly.
Gale gives him a tired look. “I'm cold.”
“Oh.” Bucky wants to slap himself for not considering that. He roots around in their closet until he finds Gale’s JSTOR sweater, then helps Gale into it, one arm at a time. He wishes Gale had told him sooner or that he’d realized what the shaking meant, but he can’t do anything about that now.
When he tries to tuck the blanket around Gale again, Gale pulls at his arm until Bucky lies down too, spooning Gale from behind. Speckles of marigold-yellow light sneak in through the half-drawn blinds. Some of them dance on the books lying on Gale’s nightstand, sparks of magic on the colourful covers. Bucky feels himself relax just looking at it.
“You’d be the best dad.” Gale repeats. His breathing slows down. “Told you.”
“All right.”
“I'm so tired.”
Bucky presses a kiss to the back of Gale's neck and breathes in his sweet scent, the smell of home. “Go to sleep.”
“I don't want to.”
“Why not?”
It takes Gale so long to reply that Bucky thinks he has fallen asleep. But eventually, he mumbles something into his pillow. “I'm scared.”
“Don’t be.” Bucky tells him softly and strokes his arm, then his side before wrapping his arm around his waist again. He slots his body as close to Gale's as possible to cradle him in warmth and comfort. “I'm here.”
Gale tightens his grip on Bucky’s hand. “Promise you won’t leave me.”
Bucky squeezes back. “I promise. I’ll be here when you wake up, baby.”
Safe in his arms, Gale finally falls asleep.

So uuuuuh what's the deal with anal? It seems like a lot of people like it but it sounds kind of.... messy?
hi anon,
thank you for wording this in the funniest way possible.
penetrative anal sex can have the side effect of some unwanted fluids, which is also true of pretty much every type of sex involving at least one orifice. if there's one thing a body is gonna do, it's create some manner of goo.
in this case the goo is most likely fecal matter, which you do need to be a little more careful with than most other fluids - E. coli is no joke! luckily, we have all kinds of condoms, gloves, and dental dams to protect all of the body parts and toys that might be going into the anus. condoms are also important because, along with lube, they help decrease the risk of tearing the delicate tissue inside your anus, which is important because injuries there are MUCH more likely to get infected and suffer complications than vaginal tears.
the bottom, or person having their anus penetrated, may also choose to flush out fecal matter prior to anal play in order to lessen the chance that it will make an unexpected appearance in the middle of sex. it's important to douche carefully, as you can hurt your anus by practicing it improperly. you can read about safe douching here, or watch this video:
youtube
you can also learn more about all things anal with Dr. Lindsey Doe's youtube playlist on the topic, beginning here:

House MD ending theory
My House post-finale theory and probably an unpopular opinion is that House turns himself in after Wilson dies. Obligatory I Am Not a Lawyer and dental record forgery, stealing and charring a body, possibly arson etc. for faking his own death are serious crimes, but if he actually tried and got a really good lawyer and appealed to "my best friend was dying" etc. he could parole out in 10 years. Or he could plead insanity and go to psych ward for a while because if anyone could get a not guilty by reason of insanity vertict, it's House. His medical license will be permarevoked but House could live with that and find other things to do. Plenty of mysteries to solve in the world. He was willing to accept that when he fake-died. If you ask me, he'd been drifting and spiraling away from being a diagnostician since season 7 anyway.
Before the tickets in the sewer debacle, when House did something reckless, it was usually taking calculated risks (in his mind) for a good reason or doing it anyway but knowing the consequences and willingly accepting at least the possibility of said consequences. When he crashed into Cuddy's, he accepted a year in prison without even getting a lawyer. But flushing tickets down the drain wasn't even something he did for a good reason or really any reason at all, and it backfired so bad. He hurt Adams and Park. He was about to go back to prison for longer than Wilson's time left. And that's because he was already on parole for what he did to Cuddy and didn't even care. If it wasn't for the outstanding parole, he'd have gotten probation and fines. But everything caught up to him when he needed to be there for Wilson the most. If anything was going to get it through his head that he can't be like this anymore, it's Wilson dying.
So when he fake-died, he knew what he was doing and was willing to live with what comes after; he just needed six more months. For Wilson.
So in 2024, House is likely out on parole. Thirteen's Huntington's likely would have onset. He promised Thirteen he'd kill her when she needed him to. He can't get prescription drugs since his license is revoked, but he can figure it out. He's chilling with Thirteen and hanging out with Taub and Chase and even Foreman occasionally. And he'd be there when Thirteen's illness progresses too far.
I think that deep down, House wanted people to stop enabling him. I think he wanted to stop hurting everyone around him, but he needed to spiral truly out of control to finally stop.
Maybe House would never change, maybe this is my wishful thinking, but this is the only way Gregory House will ever make sense to me.

Your favorite ship with ace and headcanons about it?
I'm such an indecisive bitch so I quite literally do not have a favourite ship. However I do know which shops I prefer and which ships I don't care for so we're doing ones that I prefer!!
Treyace! Trey enjoys having Ace sit on the counters when he's baking and anytime he's baking cookies he let's Ace eat the cookie dough
Catace! Constantly couple photos. In fact Cater takes them out to fancy places because Ace's eyes widening cutely and he flushes prettily and Cater can never have enough photos of his boyfriend being that gorgeous
Leoace! Leona let's Ace skip classes in his dorm so long as Ace let's Leona use his thighs as a pillow and doesn't speak so Ace can speak. Also Leona encourages Ace to grow out his hair and Leona loves running his fingers through it
Rugace! The two of them together would have the combined dental problem of the entire school lmao. Those two enjoy buying the other bakes goods and when the other isn't looking they'll steal a bite of each others food.
FloAce! Floyd enjoys carrying Ace in many different positions. Bridal, over his shoulder, piggyback, like a newborn, legit any way he can carry Ace is a win for him
JadAce! Jade pierced Ace's ear and used one of his gemstones to get Ace a custom little earring like his
Jamiace! They enjoy making little golden jewellery for each other!!
Vilace! Ace routinely bullies Bils more rabid fans who try and make fun of Ace. He bullies them by taking pictures of Vils hands wrapped around him and sending them saying: "could never be you"
RookAce!! They have their wierd stalker thing that people wanna question but don't. Also Rook enjoys buying Ace clothes and makeup
IdiAce!! Idia begs Ace to wear cosplay outfits for him. Ace has repeatedly been restrained by Ortho so he doesn't burn the costumes
Malace!! Malleus tries to make meals for Ace but always ends up burning them. He then ends up restoring to giving Ace ice cream
Liliace!! Lilis is Ace's sugar daddy and I refuse to take critism

Listen I know that the medical/dental divide is one that perhaps spans multiple universes, but here are my questions: Do people on Gallifrey have to brush their teeth or are there more advanced tooth care methods? Do they produce plaque at all? Do they get dental related problems like cavities? Do children lose their baby teeth?
Gallifreyan Dental Care: The Basics
You'd think that a race as advanced as the Time Lords might have entirely bypassed the need for anything as mundane as brushing their teeth, but it's not that simple.
🪥 Do Gallifreyans Need to Brush Their Teeth?
In short: not really, but some will do it anyway. Gallifreyans are lucky enough to have teeth that are incredibly resistant to decay. Their enamel is super dense and can even repair itself, like how skin heals from a cut. So, while most of us have to spend a couple of minutes each day scrubbing away, Gallifreyans can sit back and let their biology do the work.
However, even this system has its limits. While their teeth stay in pretty good shape without the need for brushing, there's no real known mechanism for keeping their breath fresh. So, while you won't catch a Time Lord worrying too much about cavities, they still need to remedy that pungent early morning breath.
🧼 Do They Get Plaque and Cavities?
Gallifreyans are far less likely to experience tooth decay compared to humans. Their teeth are designed to withstand wear and tear, and their enamel's self-repairing nature means plaque buildup isn't much of an issue.
But let's not get too comfortable—Gallifreyans can definitely still have dental issues, and Dentists definitely have a role on Gallifrey. Fillings or crowns will still be needed, and in some cases, extraction is necessary if the damage is beyond repair.
🧒 Do Gallifreyan Childrene Lose Their Baby Teeth?
Yes, childrene who are loomed as physical kids do go through a phase of having baby teeth, just like human kids. However, not all Gallifreyans experience this, because some are loomed as physical adults, skipping the whole baby teeth phase entirely. For those with baby teeth, it's a pretty standard process—those little teeth fall out as they grow, making way for their adult set.

Steamy
as you know, part of Felix's arc in the mechanic au revolves around his personal comfort talking about and initiating sex with Tamora. I've had this idea kicking around in my brain for a while now, and I finally sat down to write it. at this point, they've been married for an undetermined amount of time, but the point is - they're comfortable with each other, and it shows.
smut below the cut. nsfw. enjoy!
The fuzzy bathmat under his feet. The minty toothpaste on his tongue. The steam from Tamora’s shower.
Felix focused on these sensations as he struggled to wake himself up. He was usually quite chipper in the mornings, a facet of his personality that many found grating. It was unusual for him to feel so groggy. Taking a deep breath, he stood up a little straighter and directed his attention to brushing his teeth. No early-morning drowsiness would prevent him from taking care of his dental hygiene.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the slight rustling of the shower curtain. Tamora’s foot came into view as she propped it up on the edge of the tub, and he could just barely make out the bottom half of her leg in the small gap between the shower curtain and the wall. He turned his head slightly to watch as her hands spread a thin layer of shaving cream down her leg. A twinge of jealousy squirmed down to the pit of his stomach as he watched her slender fingers smooth over the defined musculature of her calf, the curve of her knee, and then disappear behind the curtain as they made their way up her thigh. He was certainly awake now.
He bent over the sink to spit, keeping his eyes trained on the gap from the shower curtain. He couldn’t quite explain why he was so transfixed; for Tamora, this was a mundane task. She probably didn’t even realize he was watching her.
Rinsing his mouth, he watched as she brought her razor to the base of her ankle, gliding gently upward and revealing a strip of skin beneath the shaving cream. There was something graceful, perhaps even elegant, about the way she gripped the razor’s handle. He couldn’t help but picture how those hands looked gripping other things, how his own callused hands felt against the soft skin of those legs. In the mirror, his cheeks were noticeably more flushed than they had been a moment ago, and he couldn’t be sure that it was all from the steam.
He didn’t notice the shift in Tamora’s upper body until it was too late. One striking blue eye appeared in the gap in the curtain, rooting him to the spot. He’d been caught. There was once a time when this would have been humiliating, but today his body hummed with excitement as he met her gaze.
“Can I help you?” she asked.
Felix recognized the smile in her voice, even if he couldn’t quite see it.
“Don’t mind me,” he said, leaning against the bathroom counter. He took a moment to slowly, deliberately look her over—from the bottom of her foot to that piercing blue eye. “I’m just enjoyin’ the view.”
She glanced down at his boxers and smirked before responding.
“I’ll say.”
Apparently he’d been enjoying it more than he realized. There was no use denying it or playing it cool. He wanted her, and they both knew it.
“Can you blame me?”
It was brief, but he swore he saw a flicker of surprise cross her face. Where he’d once been reserved, Tamora had brought out a side of him that was wide open and unafraid. It had taken quite a bit of coaxing, and occasionally it still surprised her when he took initiative like this. He had been raised in such a way that it was difficult for him to express his desires in his adult relationships. But Tamora was a woman who spoke more openly about sex than anyone Felix had ever met, and who expected the same from her romantic partner. He counted himself lucky that she had been understanding of his inner plight and patient with him as he worked to improve.
Now, it was almost laughable to think that he had ever held himself back from the desire he so often felt for his wife. She had shown him how beautiful sex could be, and he never wanted to deprive himself of that level of intimacy again.
“Felix,” she sing-songed, drawing him out of his thoughts. “Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to join me?”
He took a few steps toward the shower, leaning against the wall and looking up through the gap to finally see her whole face. Beneath the electricity that buzzed between them was something much more tender, something he couldn’t resist as he leaned up for an ardent kiss.
“You’re really beautiful, you know that?” he murmured, his eyes never leaving hers. “I don’t mean to stare, but I can’t help it.”
“Stare at what, exactly?” she asked, unable to mask her amusement. “All you can see from over there is my leg."
"Oh, but this isn't just any leg," he replied. His hands wrapped themselves around her leg, one on the back of her calf and one resting atop her knee in a gentle caress. "It's yours."
"Is that what makes it so special, then?"
"Everything about you is special, Tammy Jean," his voice slipping easily into the breathless reverence she had come to know quite well. "Every now and then it's nice to take a moment to appreciate what's in front of you."
Suddenly, he was kneeling before her, his hands traveling down her leg as he made his way to the floor. He pressed a kiss to the top of her foot and raised his head to look at her, the hungry expression on his face causing her heart to skip a beat. His lips trailed up her ankle to her shin, leaving impassioned kisses in their wake.
"These beautiful long legs are what carried you to me," he said as his lips reached her knee.
Felix paused for a moment to rest his cheek against the bend of her knee, paying no heed to the leftover shaving cream that was now on his face.
"Watchin' you, I couldn't help but feel jealous. I wanted to be the one to touch you," he admitted. "All I could think about was how much I wanted to be right here."
Tamora took a moment to assess the situation before responding. They had several tasks they had been planning to accomplish today. Her husband was on his knees on the bathroom floor worshiping her. He had always been enthusiastic, and had learned to be more vocal about his desires, but she had never seen him quite like this. To hell with their to-do list; she wanted to see where he was going with this.
"Well, you got what you wanted," she said, surprised at the slight quiver in her voice. His arduous display was getting to her more than she realized. "What are you going to do about it?"
His expression shifted into a mischievous grin before he turned his focus back to his task. He continued his trail of kisses beyond her knee, opting for a less hurried approach this time. Rather than continue up the center of her leg, his path strayed to her inner thigh, earning him a pleased sigh that only encouraged him to take his time, to truly savor each moment.
Unable to help himself, his kisses grew messy as he indulged his hunger; Tamora's hand plunged into his hair as he sank his teeth into her pillowy flesh, biting and sucking and laving his tongue over the marks he left behind. She was beside herself with longing by the time he reached the top of her thigh, anxiously anticipating his next move. His warm breath came in huffs, just barely ghosting over where she wanted him next.
But instead of diving in, he paused, eyes looking up into hers. She recognized that look—the desperate need to continue wrestling with his doubts about whether she wanted the same. Despite his progress, he still worried that giving in to his most animalistic instincts would cross some sort of boundary. Someday she would find a way to make him realize that she wanted to see that side of him more than anything.
"Not bad," she said. "But is that really all you've got?"
The change in his demeanor was immediate; relief and excitement took the helm as he pressed a couple of gentle kisses to her inner thigh.
"No, ma'am."
Felix didn't hesitate to move in close and bury himself in the heat between her legs. With the ease of frequent practice, his tongue slipped into her folds, teasing for only a moment before concentrating where he knew she most craved his touch. A soft moan escaped him; no matter how familiar he became with his wife's body, tasting her always had a special way of making him burn for her. His arm wrapped around her thigh, providing him with the leverage he needed to press his tongue more firmly against her clitoris.
Above the sound of the shower, he heard her breathy exclamation, Oh! It spurred him on, making him suddenly desperate to feel her come undone around him, to hear her moan his name and taste her sweet release on his tongue. His grip on her thigh became more firm to steady her as her body quivered above him. As she braced herself against the shower wall, his free hand smoothed up her body to caress her breast. He felt her attempting to lean her weight onto his mouth and used his hold on her to press her flush against him, sucking intently on her clit. His own arousal pulsed and throbbed with need, and every move she made increased the ache.
"Felix!"
Tamora's nails dug into his scalp and he hummed with greedy satisfaction as he savored his reward. He moved with her, continuing his efforts until he was certain that he had seen her pleasure through to its end. Once he withdrew, he rested his temple against her inner thigh as he caught his breath. Her fingers finally relaxed their tight grip, and he felt them run gently through his hair as her body began to calm.
She reached down and grabbed hold of his white T-shirt, pulling him into an upright position. Once he untangled himself from her legs and stood, she yanked him into a heated kiss, one they both savored.
"I ought to let you finish your shower," he murmured against her lips.
It almost made her laugh, the thought that he would simply leave now after what he had started. On a deeper level, though, she understood his intentions. He was putting the ball in her court, letting her decide whether they would continue. Felix had a special way of doing so that always seemed to place her in charge, and she had a feeling he liked it best that way.
"I know you don't think you're leaving with that," she glanced down at the tent in his boxers, "unattended. Come here."
"In the shower?" he asked. "Don't you think that's a little unsafe?"
A wicked grin crossed her face and his heart raced with excitement. Pulling him close, she voiced her reply, erasing all doubts from his mind.
"I'd be more worried about my personal safety if I didn't get in if I were you."

Okay, but hear me out, maybe the fact that Oscar IS loud and sensitive/cums easily is why he is a bit shy or hesitant to participate so fully at first. He knows he gets all messy and flushed and loud and that when he gets that turned on he stops caring about any embarrassment he may have had. i feel like once the other drivers find this out they would be very intrigued
Ph yess!! It's natural for some to be hesitant about joining but Oscar is mostly hesitant because he knows how he gets when he is turned on, knows how loud he gets and how messy anf flustered and he isnt sure ge wants people to see him like that.
But then he does shoot video with Lando where they try a vibrator and already on the lowest setting, Oscar cums after barely a touch! His pussy is so sensitive and he is already too shaky to keep the toy to himself, babbling a littl3 cluelessly and wanting Lando to help him! Lando being a little surprised but very curious about getting more of these reactions from him!
Okay also them showing how to properly use condoms because ✨️safe sex, kids✨️ but then also dental dams and they have one of the Alphas show how to eat an Omega our using it and thst it's not affecting the sensations so much and ofc they use Oscar cos Oscar can cum no problem ksks

"Good afternoon. I have an appointment at five o'clock?"
Aziraphale Fell smiled at the lovely receptionist in the dentist, who handed him a stack of paperwork after he politely reminded her - yet again - that he did not have an email address, had no desire to have an email address, and he had no issue filling in paperwork. She handed him a biro with a chewed end and sent him upstairs to await Doctor Service.
The waiting room at the Whickber Dental Practice was small: there were six seats, all told, and a sprawling figure with black snakeskin boots was taking up half of them. Upon spotting the figure, the hand clutching the clipboard fell. "You."
A pair of sunglasses slipped downwards and an easy smile bloomed on the other man's face. "Angel. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were stalking me."
"Hardly. And I have a name, you know. It's not Angel."
The other man merely snorted and went back to perusing an out-of-date copy of Gardner's Weekly. Aziraphale took one of the empty seats opposite, nose wrinkling at the pen, and began filling out the forms required before his appointment. More than once, his gaze drifted to the dreadful man opposite him. They had first met in line at the coffee shop - where this awful man had pushed past Aziraphale in the queue. Next had been the pharmacy - where Aziraphale had let everyone bar him cut in front. Then the post office. The Dirty Donkey. Even waiting for a table at the new restaurant Aziraphale had been dying to try.
It was becoming rather ridiculous. Yet, Aziraphale had no desire whatsoever to get to know this man that fate kept throwing in his path. Aziraphale's gaze darted in his direction, following the long line of his legs. Even if he was bloody gorgeous.
Aziraphale quickly busied himself. He had forms to fill out. His brushing habits were excellent: twice a day, electric toothbrush, regular flossing. He began to falter, however, when he came to the questions on units of alcohol and sweet treats per day.
"You can lie, you know. They won't know." Aziraphale glanced up from his form. The man was watching him intently. "It's what I do."
"But they will. Know, I mean. They can tell from my teeth." Aziraphale, shame crawling over him, put down the accurate units. Ish. "For the best."
The man hummed. "I 'spose. But we both know that whatever advice they give you, you'll be back to ignoring it before lunchtime. Maybe at a charming bistro or a lovely patisserie."
Aziraphale flushed. He did not care for this man's judgement - especially from a man who had a beaten packet of cigarettes in his front pocket and a dusty mouth guard case that looked like it hadn't been opened since the 90s. But, before he could be drawn into yet another argument about social decorum, Doctor Sandwich's dental assistant appeared.
"Anthony Crowley?"
The man raised his hand. "That's me." He stood from the chair, hips swaying as he followed the assistant. Before he climbed the short flight of stairs to the dental suite, he stared at Aziraphale. "A pleasure, as always, Angel. Where will we meet next?"
"Nowhere, if there is a God."
The man, Crowley, threw his head back and laughed. He then offered Aziraphale a wink and went to his appointment. Aziraphale just sat, clipboard firmly clutched in his hands, and tried to focus on the fact that he loathed this man - and not that the acrobatics his stomach was making at the memory of the way Crowley had stared at him. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they were to run into each other again. Maybe.
Give me a number - that’s how many seconds I’ll spend thinking of an Aziraphale/Crowley AU to write for you in 200 words or more.

The reporter has decided the best place to hide from Ken’s homicidal rampage is the BLU Base’s MedBay. She is currently sitting on one of the tables “interviewing” Friedrich.
“Mr. Doctor Friedrich, is it true you have the most evil of doctoring degrees, dentistry?”
-🖋️
Friedrich bristles, "Evil? Your dental health is very important! It's not evil to take care of your teeth."
"But it is kinda creepy keeping your teammates' teeth in a jar." James butts in. Fritz flushes from his ears to his neck, pointedly ignoring him.

Random brain dump comin atcha.
Today was so much better. I freaking hate Mondays and I am notoriously extra grumpy on them. The weekends are just so good and then you're jolted back to reality and it's unfair.
I have felt either a UTI or kidney issue coming on all day and it's the worst. I'm chugging water like crazy and hoping tomorrow the feeling is gone. If not, I'll be off to urgent care. I can't stand this feeling. I can't even remember the last time I had a UTI or anything similar so I really hope it's a fluke or a side effect of too much alcohol/caffeine/spicy food last week that I can flush out myself.
I'm taking Knox to the dentist in the morning. I'm ashamed to admit it'll be the first time. I am not the best at keeping up on my own dental health and I wish I hadn't projected those fears and anxieties onto my parenthood journey. I know it'll be fine. I'm mostly just scared now about them judging me or lecturing me. I'm going to make sure every time I take him I schedule his next visit. That should hold me accountable.
I've been loving the Versed skincare line lately. I just tried the exfoliating face wash for the first time tonight and it left my skin feeling soooo good! I already have their night cream and it's one of my favs. I also picked up the vitamin C day moisturizer so I'm excited to try that. Been taking much better care of my skin the last couple of years and it makes such a difference. I also got the shave oil @middwestbloom posted about and wowza. It really levels up the shower experience!
We are still keeping up on the new bedtime routine and it's amazing how much better my mood is now that I'm getting quality sleep. We've had a couple rough nights but overall he is sleeping much better and staying in his room more consistently!

inkfish beak healthcare
the beak of an inkfish is one of the only hard parts of their bodies, made of a strong chitin thats soft at the base and becomes more dense at the tip. the rest is all muscle and cartilage, save for the organs. most inkfish have strong jawlines that outline a powerful mandible made to crush hard shells and exoskeletons.
inkfish get only one beak throughout their entire lives, so it's important to take care of it, even if it grows continually. beaks come in a variety if shapes and sizes depending on species and individual. corrective surgery is only for malformed beaks that cause pain or repeated infection.
in the place of a tongue is their radula, a spiked appendage with the same purpose as molar teeth: grinding food. the radula grinds food against the roof of the beak by flexing and contorting.
this will leave some debris caught between the spikes. the most common instrument for beak care at home is something similar to a waterpik for flushing leftover food bits from between the crevices. another tool for cleaning ones radula is a rubber-bristled brush which is easier to use on the go.
the beak is cleaned with a soft bristle brush so the gums are not irritated. a minty paste is often used for the smell. pretty similar to humans, all things considered, but more careful attention is payed to the gums and radula.
due to their robust immune systems, inkfish rarely have dental issues. their lack of teeth means there's very little risk of cavities, and they often keep special whetstones to sharpen their beaks if they get dull or overgrown. neglecting this aspect of care can lead the beak to grow out of control and impact the inner mouth, increasing the likelihood of infection and permanent deformation of the beak.
professionals aren't normally sought for this, but if someone has a disability or disease effecting the toughness of their beak then more careful attention needs to be paid to prevent splintering, cracking, chipping, or warping.
inkfish beaks are extremely tough, and as such are hard to break. it's not impossible, though. inkfish are active and competitive creatures. inksports are much more dangerous than the average inkfish would have you believe, but that said, a broken beak is a rare occurrence even in the most extreme brackets.
accidents happen, especially during extreme sports. the most common form of beak injury is being fractured from a heavy impact. if not treated, fractures can become infected depending on where and how deep it is. treatment is simple. since the beak will continue to grow out from the gums, non severe cases are treated with gentle antibiotic paste and a soft diet until the fracture has grown out completely.
there are enough instances of beaks being chipped or even completely broken for it to be a common fear among inkfish, but these cases are usually people playing stupid games to win stupid prizes.

**Say Goodbye to Tooth Decay: A Simple Guide to Maintaining Oral Health**
Tumblr media
A Simple Guide to Maintaining Oral Health
That many people face, but the good news is that there are effective ways to address and prevent it. In this article, we'll explore simple strategies to get rid of tooth decay and promote oral health. Additionally, we'll introduce you to a product called Steel Bite Pro, which has gained popularity for its potential benefits in supporting dental hygiene.
1. **Brushing and Flossing: The Basics**
- **Brush Twice a Day:**
Make it a habit to brush your teeth at least twice a day using fluoride toothpaste. This helps remove plaque and bacteria that contribute to tooth decay.
- **Floss Daily:** Regular flossing is crucial to reach areas between teeth where your toothbrush may not effectively clean. Flossing helps prevent the buildup of plaque and reduces the risk of cavities.
2. **Healthy Eating Habits: Watch Your Diet**
- **Limit Sugary Foods:**
Sugary snacks and beverages are notorious for promoting tooth decay. Reduce your intake of sugary items, especially between meals.
- **Include Calcium-Rich Foods:**
Calcium is essential for strong teeth. Incorporate dairy products, leafy greens, and fortified foods into your diet to support dental health.
3. **Regular Dental Check-ups: Prevention is Key**
- **Visit Your Dentist:** Regular dental check-ups are vital for catching dental issues early on. Your dentist can identify and address signs of tooth decay before they become major problems.
4. **Hydration and Saliva Production**
- **Drink Plenty of Water:**
Water helps flush out bacteria and acids from your mouth, maintaining a healthy environment. It also promotes saliva production, which plays a crucial role in preventing tooth decay.
5. **Steel Bite Pro: A Potential Ally in Oral Health**
Tumblr media
- **What is Steel Bite Pro?:**
Steel Bite Pro is a dental health supplement that claims to support oral hygiene. It contains a blend of natural ingredients, such as herbs and minerals, believed to promote gum health and combat harmful bacteria.
- **How Steel Bite Pro Works:**
According to its proponents, Steel Bite Pro works by addressing the root causes of dental issues. The ingredients in this supplement are thought to have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
- **User Reviews and Testimonials:**
While individual experiences may vary, some users claim positive results after using Steel Bite Pro. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before adding any supplement to your routine.
**6. **Limit Acidic Foods and Beverages:**

**8. ** Quit Smoking:**
**Impact on Oral Health:**
Smoking has detrimental effects on oral health, including an increased risk of tooth decay and gum disease. Quitting smoking not only benefits your overall health but also significantly improves your oral hygiene.
**9. **DIY Remedies - Oil Pulling:**
-**Ancient Practice:**
Oil pulling is an ancient practice that involves swishing oil (usually coconut or sesame oil) in your mouth to reduce bacteria. While scientific evidence is limited, some people find it beneficial as a complementary oral care routine.
**10. **Consider Professional Treatments:**
-**Dental Sealants:**
Dental sealants are protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of molars to prevent decay. Consult with your dentist to see if sealants are a suitable option for you or your children.
- **Fluoride Treatments:**
Professional fluoride treatments at your dentist's office can strengthen your tooth enamel, making it more resistant to decay. Your dentist can recommend the frequency of these treatments based on your oral health needs.
**11. **Stay Informed and Educated:**
- **Keep Up with Oral Health Information:**
Dental care is continually evolving, and staying informed about the latest developments in oral health can empower you to make better decisions for your dental care routine. Follow reputable dental websites, blogs, and consult your dentist regularly for updates and advice.
Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all solution for preventing tooth decay. Each person's oral health needs are unique, so it's essential to tailor your routine based on guidance from dental professionals and your own experiences. By combining these tips with a commitment to regular dental check-ups, you can take significant steps towards achieving a healthy, cavity-free smile.
Conclusion:
Maintaining good oral hygiene is essential for preventing tooth decay and other dental problems. By following simple practices like regular brushing, flossing, and maintaining a healthy diet, you can significantly reduce the risk of tooth decay. While products like Steel Bite Pro may be considered, it's crucial to do thorough research and consult with your dentist before incorporating any supplement into your oral care routine. Remember, a combination of consistent dental habits and professional guidance is the key to a healthy smile.

i was gonna put additions in the tags but i hit 30 and tumblr stopped me. so
hi. i am a certified dental assistant in the state of florida! all of this is accurate, and well simplified.
things that caught my attention tho (and stuff i just wanna mention, i also like teeth and talking abt teeth):
you have multiple periodontal ligament fibers what hold your teeth in place, not just the big one. they are tiny little fibers that attach to the tooth and the bone. they can be bruised by biting down too hard, aggravated by night grinding, and destroyed by severe gingivitis that is in the process of becoming periodontitis. some periodontal tissues can grow back, but things like periodontal bone loss are essentially irreversible. that is the main reason you want to avoid gingivitis- besides the fact that its active infection and it hurts!
water flossers and electric toothbrushes are expensive, but oh my god are they fucking incredible at keeping your teeth clean with far less wrist movement. if you have chronic pain (like me!) or you get fatigued easily, getting the pair of them means you do not have to put as much physical effort into flossing or brushing, which may be worth the cost for you. i know this is not financially an option for everyone, but i want to really call attention to the fact that they are great for avoiding fatigue.
a water flosser is a point-and-click between your teeth- that simple! and it works as well as regular floss (at the base of your teeth, not where they make contact) on the higher settings! just make sure to flush and clean the water lines in the unit.
an electric toothbrush handles most of the mechanical removal of biofilm for you! you still have to angle the brush head towards the gums, then follow the curves of the tooth and sweep away from the gumline, but there are far fewer circular motions required. the handles of electric toothbrushes are also larger and heavier, making them easier to grip. they are so effective, hygienists can usually tell when a patient has started using them!
staining! not gonna get into intrinsic stains, but extrinsic stains are stains that are removable by brushing (rarely) polishing (more likely) or whitening (more on that in a bit). they are caused by what was mentioned above- acids and tannins together are not friends to your enamel (or the stuff underneath...)
baking soda is known to whiten teeth because it is an extremely good abrasive. it is not techically an anti-bacterial cleaning agent in the ways that certain toothpastes are, it is an abrasive. when you use it, you are essentially using sandpaper on your teeth to grind off biofilm as well as the staining. this can remove layers of enamel if used too often. use it if you see light yellow/tan staining, and then back off of it after a week or two. make sure to use fluoridated toothpaste as well to try and offset damage.
whitening. get it if you want, really. its unnecessary, but you might like the look.
the simplified version of the process of whitening- your teeth are porous. whitening agents penetrate enamel, then work their way down into dentinal tubules (channels that run from the soft inner dentin to the enamel cap), scouring them clean- which removes whatever staining may have been showing through the enamel that came from stuff in the tubules.
the major problem with this isnt that it messes with the enamel- it does, but it can be remineralized if cared for properly- the issue is the unblocking of the tubules. this, technically, doesnt hurt the tooth too bad... but it does allow much more sensation- in particular, thermal sensation- to travel through the unblocked tubules.
This Can Hurt Like All Fucking Hell, because, as said above, the nerves in teeth are super chatty. also- dont whiten your teeth repeatedly. ivory, yellow, and yes, even darker orange-tan-browns sometimes, are normal tooth colors. celebrities dont even whiten their teeth, if that's who you try to emulate- they get veneers. you can not compete with veneers by whitening- no one can. even teeth with more naturally opaque "white" enamel are going to be light ivory.
dont get veneers unless theyre to close up a gap in your teeth by the way. its unnecessary, removes tooth structure you cant get back, and theyre so delicate they'll likely need to be replaced in 10 years. im all for body modification though, so if you really want them, go ahead- just know that they are usually more of a body mod than something with medical use.
back to whitening- there are toothpastes that can reblock dentinal tubules after whitening! sensodyne toothpastes should have potassium nitrate and stannous fluoride, which partially block nervous signals, and form crystals along the tubules, closing them up over the course of a few weeks of use (usually 2).
any toothpaste with those ingredients should help with sensitivity by the way, not just sensodyne. if you stop using toothpastes with those ingredients, though, the anti-sensitivity action will eventually wear off as the blocks degrade. if you are experiencing noticeable and "sharp" sensitivity to sweets as well as thermal sensitivity after using a toothpaste like this for over two weeks, there may be an underlying issue, and you should bring it up to your dentist.
get cavities treated as soon as possible. they are expensive, yes- but getting a root canal is even more so. untreated cavities will eventually penetrate the soft, porous, easily infected dentin, which leads directly to the pulp of the tooth. when the pulp is infected, it can cause an abscess- which, as mentioned, can kill you, and is also exceptionally painful. the only treatment at that point is a root canal (or an extraction, but thats something that no one wants to have to do because of the bone loss that entails), since the pulp of the tooth is either very infected, dead, or partially both. cavities are not issues to be ignored. they are active infections. talk with your dentist about payment plans- if theyre a private practice, you can usually negotiate paying over a period of time (though some offices are shitty about that). even corporate offices sometimes have planning options- your mileage will vary there.
anyways thats been me being way too passionate about teeth for five miles of dashboard. sorry but i paid 7k for my classes and im making that everyone else's problem
STUFF NOBODY EVER TOLD YOU ABOUT TEETH (and how to take care of them if you are poor and/or depressed)
Contrary to what the US health industry would have you believe, your teeth are NOT luxury face bones. You need them. Healthy teeth are a cornerstone of good health in general for a lot of reasons. You can’t eat well without them. You need them to speak. And tooth bias is real.
This makes me very sad because I love teeth. I am not a dentist. I’m a biological anthropologist whose expertise is oral disease and the evolutionary anatomy of teeth. My dad’s an oral surgeon and I worked in his office from the tender and illegal age of 8 to the ripe old age of 18, which is when I went to college. At 12, I was assisting with the disposal of biowaste, aka packaging up the teeth to send them to dental schools. I live, breathe, sleep, and occasionally eat teeth. I found a human incisor on my floor this morning and wasn’t even surprised. I study how teeth go bad partly so that I can help living people protect the teeth they’ve got. It’s my goal with this post to teach you about a couple of different types of procedures and oral injuries, as well as what you can do to help keep your teeth functional. So in this post, what I am going to do is outline a few common things that can go wrong with your teeth, how they happen, and how to catch them before they get bad. A lot of the advice in this post is for people who maybe can’t get to the dentist for a cleaning and checkup every six months. This post is also gonna be LONG AS HELL and there is going to be a separate post called “luxury face bone hacks for the busy/broke/b’mentally ill” or something like that, so like. If you don’t like super long posts, just hit this one with a like and actually read through that one.
First, let’s talk about dental anatomy.
What Are Teeth?
Teeth are extremely cool. They’re these amazing little packages of dentin pulp, protected by enamel, nestled into the jaw like truffles in a box of chocolates, held in place with a teeny tiny ligament. They’re gorgeous– enamel is a beautiful substance, translucent and opalescent. Teeth are also extremely weird when you think about them. You have these weird not-bone things emerging from holes in your jawbones. They’re snapped into place with a biological bunjy cord and you can actually SPRAIN THEM if you put too much pressure on them.
Here are some important things to know about teeth!
First, the nerves in your teeth were never meant to be exposed to the air. They only process stimulus one way: pain. This means that when you get a cavity or do anything else that exposes the nerve, it is going to hurt like a bitch.
Your teeth may come loose! Usually they stay put and go back to normal in a day or two. Don’t panic. This is usually the result of you spraining your dental ligament that holds the tooth in place.
Root canals suck but they can prevent dental abscesses. Dental abscesses can kill you. If they spread and get into your sinuses, they can cross the blood/brain barrier and you will die. This doesn’t happen much any more, but in rare cases… it can.
The phrase “like pulling teeth” is a misnomer. Pulling teeth is extremely easy if you know what you’re doing. Extractions are usually a very simple procedure. What’s complicated is things like root canals and setting up implants, which, in the case of implants is the literal opposite of pulling teeth.
Pregnancy will fuck up your teeth because a.) the fetus is leaching your vital essence and other nutrients and b.) your hormones are telling a lot of ligaments in your body to loosen up to get ready to give birth. Sometimes wires get crossed and other ligaments at non-mobile joints get the loosen up message, too. Just be sure to keep up your dental hygiene regimen during pregnancy and you’ll be fine.
Your gum tissue isn’t just weird wet skin. It’s a mucous membrane that protects the mouth. It can get diseased and inflamed, so pay attention to it! Also, there’s a lot of blood vessels so if you poke yourself with something, you’ll bleed like a stuck pig for a minute. The kind of bleeding you should be worried about is prolonged bleeding, where you see blood welling up around your teeth for no apparent reason.
Now that you’ve been equipped with some fun facts, lets talk about diseases and procedures.
Braces: if you’re reading this, you probably don’t need them
First: Pediatric orthodontia is largely a scam. People who put standard braces on their child before that child has lost all of their baby teeth are stupid and causing their child needless pain because those teeth are going to fall out anyways and the alignment of the adult teeth was decided long, long ago. The kids who NEED orthodontic intervention are kids with bad crossbites/underbites/overbites. This requires specialized headgear most of the time and is more intense than the standard braces because they are made to solve a much bigger problem. The standard bracket-and-wire braces? Don’t put those on a child. They won’t help. Also, your kid doesn’t have their third molars yet, and those are the molars most likely to come in twisted anyways.
As an adult, you may want braces for cosmetic reasons or for comfort reasons. This is a CHOICE that is YOURS TO MAKE. If your dentist suggests you need braces, ask why. You don’t have to get them. Now,If you have certain kinds of dental overlap- like, your lateral incisors have been pushed behind your frontals- then yeah, you should get braces. But is it the end of the world if you don’t get braces? No.
Wisdom tooth removal: you might not need it
The human jaw is in a state of evolutionary mismatch right now. Basically, our last molar, the third molar, doesn’t come in until we’re an adult. Unfortunately, thanks to ten thousand years of agriculture, give or take a few millennia, we have much more gracile jaws than our ancestors. There’s not always enough room for it. Now, this isn’t true for everyone, because no two skulls are identical and all, but sometimes there is a condition where you really should get those suckers out. If they are impacted, or coming in sideways, they can push your other teeth out of alignment and cause jaw issues down the line. If they come up straight, don’t worry about it.
Cavities: you need to get these taken care of
Cavities are a pain in the ass and are honestly the main reason you should go to the dentist for checkups, so that they can take the x-ray of your mouth and see how any potential trouble zones are progressing. You should call a dentist and seek help if you notice pain that persists over three days, as that’s an indicator of something more serious than just a sprain.
Tooth Grinding: this is a problem
If you grind your teeth, your dentist may recommend a night guard. Actually listen to them about this. Grinding your teeth can cause major jaw alignment problems that are a pain to fix, so just bite the silicone and suck it up. Also maybe talk to a therapist if you can, because grinding can be a result of stress/anxiety.
Whitening your teeth: bad idea
First off, your teeth ain’t supposed to be white. Enamel is not white. Enamel is translucent and pearlescent, so its actual color is very hard to pin down. Your teeth are naturally going to look more ivory-colored over time. That’s just part of being human and having teeth. Embrace it. You are a badass omnivore with thirty-two gorgeous enamel teeth. They weren’t put in your mouth to look pretty, they were put in your mouth to feed you.
Second: Whitening your teeth weakens your enamel. Once your enamel’s gone, it ain’t coming back, baby. There are some gentler whitening methods, like whitening toothpaste, but these are only going to give you about one to two shades worth of improvement. If you have extremely stained teeth and you want to whiten them, make sure you talk to your dentist about all the risks. Unfortunately, there is no truly safe and effective home-style (read: not a million gotdang dollars) remedy for whitening teeth.
There are a few that are kicking around, but seriously, some of them are dangerous. Do NOT rub wood ash on your teeth. That’s lye. Don’t put that in your mouth. Do NOT use actual bleach, hair dye developer, or non-dental peroxide gel. They are poisonous. DO NOT PUT ACETONE ON YOUR TEETH i have seen this exactly once and the person came into my dad’s office with chemical burns on their gums and lips. I do NOT want to see this again.
It is a misconception that brushing your teeth keeps them looking white. Brushing your teeth removes plaque and biofilm, but those buildups don’t actually stain the enamel itself. Instead, really the only way to keep your teeth looking light is to pay attention to what you’re putting in your mouth. If you’re a tobacco user, vape! Tar is a major staining agent. Coffee’s also a major stainer, and the big trick there is to put a little milk in it. See, enamel staining doesn’t come from the color of the food. It comes from chemical properties. Acidic foods stain because acid damages enamel. Food with high levels of tannins, like coffee or tea, stain because the tannins change the PH of the mouth. So what you should do to avoid staining is balance your mouth PH by eating something basic after eating something acidic. Add a lil milk to your coffee or tea to weaken its acidity just a bit. Swish with water afterwards to help clear the acid. Don’t eat lemons or any other acidic food after drinking coffee. Why would you want to eat lemons after drinking coffee, anyways? Seems like a weird flavor combo to me.
And while we’re on the subject…
MOUTH CHEMISTRY
What’s in your mouth? Your teeth, your gums, your tongue, your spit… yeah, your spit. Saliva’s important. It’s probably THE most important thing in protecting your teeth because salivary production constantly washes the teeth, clearing off as much bad bacteria as possible. If you have an issue with saliva production, you should drink as much water as you can throughout the day, and get a bottle of dry mouth tabs for nighttime. Or daytime, if they don’t bother you. This is really important because dry mouth is a major side effect for a lot of drugs, like anti-depressants. This is actually a huge part of my research- the population I study used a natural painkiller, but in the end its use caused them more pain because the way it works, it decreases the efficacy of the salivary glands. They stop making sufficient saliva, the teeth dry out, the mouth PH changes, and the bacteria that destroy enamel go buckwild. If you can’t make your own spit, store bought is fine. Water for the day, tabs for the night.
Now, you might think that ok, acid isn’t great, let’s eat more basic foods to balance that out. You can, but it… isn’t great. Your saliva is naturally acidic for a reason, and if you neutralize it completely, that ALSO messes with your teeth. You should be drinking plain water as much as possible.
Seltzer and Soda
Some people think seltzer may hurt your teeth, but it really won’t… unless it’s citrus-flavored. Reason: citrus seltzer uses citric acid as a flavoring agent, and that messes with your teeth. So if you want to drink citrus seltzer, drink it with a meal or with food. Don’t sip it slow over the day.
Soda, on the other hand is a goddamn nightmare. The acid’s kind of a problem but the sugar… dear god the sugar. So. your teeth are covered in a bacterial biofilm. Some of these bacteria excrete acid, and that’s what gives you cavities. This is another part of my research- looking at how cavity prevalence changes as sweetening agents and sugar availability changes. As different carbohydrates enter the diet, populations’ disease responses change. I know more about this than probably anybody else in the world, and here is what I know: the best thing you can do for your teeth is stop drinking American soda.
It’s the corn, you guys. The chemical compounds in corn make the cavity-causing bacteria kick into overdrive. Sodas sweetened with high fructose corn syrup create the perfect environment for these dudes to excrete out a storm. Sugary beverages in general promote cavities, but NOTHING does it like sodas sweetened with high fructose corn syrup or any other corn byproduct. Try to limit your soda and juice consumption and if you can, make sure that when you do have them, you’re getting some food, too.
Other Acids
Ok this next part is going to deal with eating disorders. I’m going to be talking about some of the side effects of bulimia, what they can do to your teeth, and how you can take care of them. Eating disorders are serious business and I hope if you need this section you are in supportive recovery and have the love and support and resources you need. If you don’t want to read about what this can do to your teeth, scroll real quick until you seen the big green text.
If your teeth are in frequent contact with stomach acid, acid etching can be a real problem. Your enamel is tough but stomach acid is gnarly, and your gums don’t have that same protection. If you find yourself vomiting frequently, for whatever reason, try to swish water around in your mouth afterwards to help clean it out. I know that’s not the thing that’s likely on your mind after that, but a lot of what we’re doing here is damage control. I’m not here to judge you in the slightest. I’m just here to help you with your teeth.
Do not brush your teeth immediately after vomiting. The enamel is weaker, and you can cause even more damage by brushing too hard. Wait for at least an hour until after you’ve rinsed your mouth to avoid spreading the acid around.
You can also add some (1-2 tsp) baking soda to the water you rinse with, if you feel ok with doing that. It will taste gross and salty but it will help neutralize the acid. You just rinse with this, you don’t swallow.
ok that part is over
TOOTH HACKS
This is the funnest part, I get to tell you good ways to take care of your teeth that require very few spoons and very little money!
Brush ‘em twice a day. Once when you get up to clear out whatever happened the night before, and once before you fall asleep. You can brush more but you don’t have to. Use a soft-bristled brush and whatever toothpaste you like. If you hate mint, kid toothpaste that tastes like bubblegum or berries is totally fine!
Don’t want to get out of bed? totally fine. Use a finger toothbrush! these are designed for babies which is actually great because they are SUPER soft. If you have sensitive gums, these are going to be really helpful.
Don’t have access to a finger toothbrush? honest to god you can just dip your finger in water (though a mix of water and baking soda or water and salt is better) and brush your teeth with just your finger. The point of this isn’t to freshen your breath or anything, it’s just to get the biofilm off of your teeth and protect them.
Floss. This gets the biofilm out from between your teeth and promotes good gum health. Don’t just run it between the teeth- you need to floss below the gumline a little bit to help clean out plaque.
If you don’t have the spoons to do your whole mouth, floss between your molars if you can.
There’s lots of products that are great for people who can’t go through the whole flossing routine. Pre-threaded flossers are ideal because they’re designed for minimal effort and maximum gain. These are also killer for people with physical disabilities that affect hand dexterity.
If flossing hurts because you have sensitive gums, a water flosser can really help. This is more expensive but will last a very long time.
You can also get topical numbing gel that you can smear on your gums when flossing. Just be careful that you’re not flossing too hard because you can’t feel it. This brand is kind of expensive but it has a nice minty flavor. If you have a dollar and a way to get there, I saw Orajel at Dollar Tree yesterday… when I was buying a bunch of those pre-threaded flossers to throw in my car. I oughta do a Dollar Tree field trip to show you like, what products are available at the absolute cheapest in the US. Dollar Tree has a LOT of good dental options.
There’s a tiktok that says you can use a strand of hair to floss. This is a bad idea. A single strand of hair is likely to break and can cut into your gums. If you want to use hair as floss, you need to use a couple of strands twisted together. Go slow and gentle if you’re using hair. Obviously actual floss is better but this isn’t “perfect dental tips for perfect people,” this is “life sucks but your teeth don’t gotta.”
If you can’t floss or can’t brush, gargle. Put two tsp of baking soda in a glass of warm water. Swish it around, spit it out. If you can do that, you’ve helped clear out biofilm and bacterial waste.
Prioritize your teeth. You only get two sets and you lose the first one by the time you’re twelve. If you can only do one hygiene thing today, make it be your teeth.
Eat some pineapple. Bromelain, which is only found in pineapple, is super good at protecting enamel.
That’s… all I got for you now. Take care of your teeth!
