I bought myself some flowers today, in an attempt to cheer myself up from the day that I’d had.

Little did I know what this entailed. As I unwrapped this pretty bunch, sorting the stems by colour and length, handling this with care and patience. Fearing that the flowers might detect the hurt in me. I sorted the flowers on the counter, rearranging and trying to handle them delicately. As the arrangement came together in the bottles, the energy in me shifted, feeling a bit at ease. I bought myself some flowers today, to heal my hurting heart from the events of the day. I seem to be growing lately, from someone who did not like receiving flowers as gifts to someone with a new found appreciation for the joy they bring.

I bought myself some flowers today and I’m ever so glad of this new found appreciation for flowers, the mere presence of which seems to help me heal a little every day.
