Hi, I'm back with more staff stuff! Maybe one day I'll make more photo content (I want to make a new costume and get the camera out so bad), but my time is limited so for now I'm just sharing some of the stuff I take while focusing on my practice. I'm excited to do more short choreography, really get a feel for how to incorporate my tricks into a full piece

i think the thing i'm most disappointed about with riordanverse fandom now versus like 2014 is not only has the fandom not gotten any less racist or queerphobic or ableist (in fact in some regards its gotten worse!) but now it's just boring too. like there's no fandom infrastructure anymore - the community these days is almost entirely source material-driven - and you deviate from canon even slightly people get weird about it. whatever happened to the post-HoO fanon boom. the fandom needs to get weirder again. and self-sufficient. and less offensive.
#pjo#riordanverse#deep and weary sigh. we need to bring back the lower ecosystem rings of fandom#prop up some good ol' community spaces especially since a lot of old ones have totally petered out#< mostly referring to stuff like ye olde ship headcanons blogs#heck even doing a quick search for ''pjo headcanons'' the most recent blog was last active in 2017 and the other two in 2013#there's an rp community floating around but im keeping tabs on the riordanverse askblog community and its a bit dire#there's been like what - *one?* maybe two major fandom aus that have floated around recently?#one moreso being one person's au that most people dont actually do much with#and the other more being like a half-hearted general concept that got kicked around for a couple of weeks#i am legitimately tempted to just go wild and start planning out and setting up like a hub for trying to revitalize the community#like the community EXISTS. it's THERE. it ebbs and flows! but now it only really does much when there's new official content#and it rarely exists outside of that#and given we are technically in a fandom boom right now with the show now is like. the perfect opportunity to set up fandom infrastructure#so that new fans have a place to go and integrate with the community and start pumping new life back into things#also i think the fandom becoming more self-sufficient could help with the offensive part since Rick sure isnt helping

i might actually post the rough of this because the first scenes are just enough info to keep u guessing and introduce the actual plot and like, 99% a ridiculously fluffy, sans-centric character study of theway he feels about frisk post pacifist that's been rattling around in my head forever

Spent some time just watching Patches and Penny this morning. They’re doing really well! They were really good for getting pictures taken too. I think because i fed them a bit before so they weren’t overly hyper that i was in front of their aquarium.

The Eras Tour really is just incredible, 10/10, it’s a tour that will go down in history
#I already knew this from the streams but after seeing the eras tour movie it really drove it home for me#it’s just really such an amazing show#the setlist is SO well chosen from one song to another the flow of it everything#visually the show is also stunning there’s so much to see and yet it’s never distracting#and it’s also quite simple at the same time which leads me to my next point#Taylor has the absolute command of that huge stage in such an incredible way#wether she’s accompanied by dancer stage props etc or if it’s just her there#and also the outfits looked soooo incredible even the ones I didn’t love on the streams/gifs/photos (mainly the rep bodysuit and kind of the#lover ones) like they just looked soooo good and the perfect choice#the eras tour#the eras tour movie#taylor swift

I know that the 'even the gods bleed' is intended as neuvi romantic (according to the tags) but Im honestly so in love with furina shes the cutest and Id let her play with my hair all day. Really excited to read more of your fics and get more moments with her (ill feed my delusions and see her as romantic). Your writing is great, it keeps me engaged and makes me want to keep reading.
honestly i try to keep it vague enough that like. yeah there might be something there with basically everyone in the fic rn (and more later on. because why are fontaine characters so attractive...) so like. absolutely can read furina as the intended romance KJSDKFH she is my bias anyway if it isnt obvious i've spent like $200 on her banner i am, in fact, her number one fan.
basically trying not to put too much emphasis on a character so everyone can read it thru the lens of romancing whoever they want without alienating anyone so everyone is free game. furina?? go for it. neuvi?? absolutely. wrio?? hell yeah.
furina is the only right answer, though. indisputable.

#I am a renowned dialogue hater#but props to my girl Lilith she is a massive chatterbox and really fun to write dialogue for#I think her tendency to word vomit just makes it easier to get a stream of consciousness going#now that I’m thinking about it I feel like part of my problem with dialogue is that it’s very segmented so it’s hard to get a good#flow going like I do with the narrative/descriptive bits#and she seriously makes that way easier to do because she simply does not shut up#anyhow yay for writing breakthroughs!#writing#writer problems#writers on tumblr#writeblr#writblr

I watched the eras tour movie the other day and it gave me insane brainrot and now I'm sitting here making a waterparks "eras tour" playlist and if it isn't accurate ill die instantly
#DO THEY HAVE HALF THE NUMBER OF ALBUMS TS DOES. YES. BUT .... UM... besides the point..... its fascinating to me#like listen its about psychoanalyzing the albums and going#if they had to play roughly 3 to 5 songs from each era what would they be#and youve gotta think about the potential stage props and artistry and all that too!!!!!!#what would make for an entertaining show#and forming a cohesive setlist that flows well#because you cant go in chronological order thats boring and also just wouldnt work!!!!!#idk im being silly but i think its neat#txt.exe

gonna have to drag myself back to reading babel at some point because i spent twenty god given pounds on it!!! in a cost of living crisis! i will make myself like this book if it kills me
#i know i've spoken abt it before but this is the first experience i've ever had of disliking a book that everyone else on here raves about#and it's a really weird feeling like am i simply not seeing something#like. it should have everything!#1830s ✔ morally torn protag ✔ oxford setting ✔#nice slick language based magic system ✔ unflinching exploration of the horror of colonialism through aforementioned language magic ✔#and exploring how language can be used as a conduit for empire is such a good angle. and how the babel students are just exploited for this#but i have 0 emotional investment bc the whole story is just tell not show and characters just feel like props with dialogue from 2023#it simply is not giving oxford in 1836. (these girls are in trousers and no one bats an eye lmao. is this just gonna be a thing??)#constant footnotes that just interrupt the flow and seem to treat readers as just. stupid. like you do not need to hold my hand i can read#and the worst thing is some ppl on here will take any crit of this book in the worst possible faith like my guy. sir.#frustrating bc i expected it to be so good and i really want books like this that don't shy away from the british empire and colonisation#and it had been SO hyped and advertised and the main premise goes so hard it just feels. ugh

I'm gonna buy myself a new, longer staff as reward for reaching my savings goals well before my move. I think the lever points will be at a better height, and will be more forgiving with the length, and it will help with some dance aspects that are a little extreme with a shorter staff. I'm just... bad at spending money, but also excited to be at a stage where I can justify purchasing a new prop and have solid reasoning behind it.
The leather grip wrap tho? That's just pure extravagance and me being a stubborn ass about synthetic materials (look, I'm worried about replacing grip tape with adhesives, what if it's gummy and won't come off and affects the balance or something). One thing at a time, though. Maybe I can test a braided corsage wrap once I have the new staff, see if it gives me rope burns like I'm expecting, lol!
