Valentine's Day proves to be one of the busiest days at the floral shop where you work. Breathing in the heady floral scents that permeate the store, you find yourself in continuous motion, assembling bouquets of pink roses, carnations, violets, and every red flower known to man into the van. With your back straining from the constant lifting, you absently listen to the gentle voice of your boss reassuring an irritated customer about their belated delivery—
and you wince.
Although you should be in a rush taking care of the deliveries, you tiptoe inside the back of the shop to avoid interrupting your boss—
But he merely hangs up the phone upon seeing your flustered face.
“S, sorry—” You begin.
He shakes his head with a gentle smile playing on his thinly bearded lips and says, “Don’t worry about it, love.”
The way he addresses you as ‘love’ used to bother you. It always seemed so…formal, old-fashioned, but coming from him—your boss—he somehow makes it work without needing to force the romantic undertone. Perhaps it is because he is on the older side and being a foreigner in this little town of yours.
The town lies deep within the trench of an endless forest, and you wonder how your boss had found his way here.
His arrival several years ago stirred many gossips about him, with him keeping his lips sealed about his past, but everyone slowly warmed up to him. His succulent blooms, never seen before even in the gardening magazines, certainly helped. Now, your boss is a familiar face among the townspeople, with very few not knowing who he is. And, of course, his handsome and charming demeanor won the hearts of many too.
“But I would’ve made the deliveries on time if I didn’t eat brea—” you try.
His piercing green eyes soften as you nervously fixing your rolled sleeves. You halt when he suddenly leans in.
“Boss—?” You rasp at the new weights on your shoulders, trying to pay no mind to the strange dark strains on his thick fingers.
The way he held you was almost…fond—
And he pushes you outside to the doorway. “Go finish the deliveries, won’t you?”
“Really?” You huff, trying to ignore the red tinge to your cheeks and the heavy thumping of your heart.
Your boss smiles that damnable handsome smile of his and pats you on your head, saying, “Get to it. The sooner you finish, the sooner I can give you your little Valentine’s Day bonuses for working so hard.”
While giving his employees gifts during holidays and special events is not new to your boss, you still perk up in eagerness and reward him with the biggest smile you can muster. As you dart away with a confident promise to complete the deliveries, he watches you scurry to the van, inhaling sharply,
“Soon.”
Your boss murmurs, rubbing his knuckle with his other hand—as if to hide the sudden green spot on it. Tiny vines emerge briefly, before he rubs them away and pivots back to his cash register where his impatient customers have started to queue. Flashing them with a dazzling smile to reassure frustrated customers with a wordless apology, your boss absently peers over to his office.
There, on his desk, is the special bouquet he prepared for you and only you.
Imagining you burying your face into the fragrant cluster of your favorite flowers, oblivious to the true intention of its purpose, the toxic drugging qualities meant to lure you into his arms—into his ivies and his binds of vines and creepers—had him biting back a shudder. Restraining himself before the antsy crowd, your boss rings up a customer with an invisible countdown ticking in his head.
A countdown to have you.
The blooms nearby writhe and shudder, with most dismissing it as mere breezes from the air conditioner.
It was not.

In the elegant floral shop, the scent of fresh blooms enveloped you as you stood beside your boss, Joel Miller, a man of many responsibilities and hidden depths. His piercing gaze fixed on a display of vibrant roses, seeking your opinion on a matter close to his heart - choosing the perfect flowers for a date.
Joel, a handsome billionaire with a company to run, a daughter to care for, and a brother to watch over, often sought your counsel on matters both personal and professional. Whether it was a crucial business decision or selecting a gift for Sarah's upcoming birthday, he valued your input more than he let on.
You studied the roses with a critical eye, your brows furrowing slightly as you considered the implications of his choice. "I think Lauren will love it," you finally offered, your voice tinged with a hint of reservation at the mention of Joel's recent romantic interest.
The name 'Lauren' left a bitter taste in your mouth, a woman who seemed more interested in Joel's wealth and status than in him as a person. You couldn't shake the feeling that she was using him for her own gain, and the thought of Joel falling for her facade made your stomach churn.
Joel's keen observation didn't miss the subtle shift in your demeanor. "Why are you makin' that face?" he questioned, his narrowed eyes fixed on you with a mix of curiosity and concern.
Your heart raced at being caught off guard, your cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "What face?" you attempted to deflect, but Joel saw through your facade with unnerving accuracy.
"The one you make when you don't like somethin'. You're scrunchin' your nose and everythin'," he pointed out, his gesture leaving you feeling exposed and vulnerable.
Caught in his perceptive gaze, you struggled to find the right words, knowing that you couldn't deceive him. There was an unspoken connection between you, a bond that transcended the boundaries of employer and assistant, leaving you feeling both exhilarated and unnerved by his proximity.
Joel's expectant gaze bore into you, his hand resting casually on his hip as he awaited your response, a subtle sign of his contemplation or frustration. The air between you crackled with unspoken tension, a silent understanding passing between you as you navigated the delicate dance of honesty and restraint in your shared space.
You settled for the truth, pinching your lips as if you were thinking how to phrase the next few words, eventually meeting his brown eyes and saying, "I don't like roses." The words hung in the air, a confession that felt both liberating and terrifying.
Joel's eyebrows shot up in surprise, his expression a mix of curiosity and amusement. Before he could respond, you cut him off, rambling on in a nervous attempt to clarify your thoughts. "I know, I know, it's just... my preference. It's not that I don't find them pretty... I do. It's just, sometimes it feels like there's no thought into getting someone roses."
You really should shut up, but you couldn't stop, your words tumbling out in a rush. "That's not to say you're not like putting in the effort to get Lauren... roses or something. It's just there's a whole language to flowers and their meaning, and there's definitely more options than just a whole bouquet of roses."
The silence that followed was oppressive, Joel's eyes roaming all over your figure as if taking in every detail. You felt like you were going to vomit, because there was no way you had just told your boss that he wasn't being thoughtful as he was getting the bitch flowers.
"What d'you like then?" Joel's deep voice asked, his tone low and husky, sending a shiver down your spine. You took a moment to formulate an answer, your heart racing with anticipation.
"Red Peonies," you swallowed, the words feeling like a revelation.
"Why?" Joel asked, his eyes never leaving yours, and you swear he took a small step closer to you, the distance between you shrinking to almost nothing.
"Besides it representing love, it also represents passion, honour and respect," you explained, trying to sound calm despite the turmoil inside. "There's just something more to it, I guess."
The air was tense, Joel's gaze burning into you like a brand. You felt like you were drowning in the depths of his eyes, the silence between you a palpable thing. You knew you should look away, but you couldn't, your gaze locked onto his as if drawn by an unseen force.
The world around you melted away, leaving only the two of you, suspended in a moment of raw emotion. You knew that you had crossed a line, but you couldn't help the way you felt. The truth was out, and now you just had to face the consequences.
The sharp chime of a phone shattered the charged silence between you, pulling you both back to the reality of the moment. You reluctantly pulled out your phone, a sigh escaping your lips as you delivered the news. "Your 3 p.m. meeting with Bill and Frank is coming up. We should buy those roses and go—"
But before you could finish, Joel interjected, his voice firm yet tinged with a hint of reluctance. "We can come back for them later."
You blinked, momentarily caught off guard by his sudden change of heart. Quickly regaining your composure, you slipped back into your assistant mode. "I could have them delivered and—"
"Don't worry about it, darlin'," Joel cut you off, his deep Southern drawl sending a shiver down your spine. "Let's go to the damn meeting before Tess starts tellin' me off again."
Without another word, Joel strode towards the waiting car, the driver opening the door as you followed, slipping into the plush leather seat beside him. The tension in the air was palpable, the unspoken emotions between you thick enough to cut with a knife.
As the car pulled away from the curb, you found yourself acutely aware of Joel's presence, his warmth and the subtle scent of his cologne enveloping you. The silence stretched on, neither of you quite sure how to navigate the charged atmosphere that had settled over the two of you.
You stole a glance at Joel, his brow furrowed in thought, his fingers drumming a restless rhythm on the armrest. You longed to reach out, to bridge the gap that had suddenly opened between you, but the weight of your professional relationship held you back.
The drive to the office was a blur, the familiar sights and sounds of the city passing by in a haze as your mind raced with a thousand unspoken thoughts. When the car finally pulled to a stop, you both exited in silence, the weight of the unresolved tension hanging heavy in the air.
As you made your way through the bustling lobby, Joel's hand brushed against yours, sending a jolt of electricity through your body. You couldn't help but wonder if the touch was intentional, a silent acknowledgment of the connection that simmered beneath the surface.
But as you turned to leave, Joel's voice stopped you in your tracks. "Darlin'," he murmured, his eyes filled with a depth of emotion that took your breath away. "We need to talk."
Your heart pounded in your chest as you turned to face him, unsure of what could possibly be running through Joel's mind. The intensity of his gaze only added to the butterflies in your stomach, and you couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and trepidation at what he might say.
"What is it, Joel?" You asked, trying to keep your voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside you.
He took a step closer to you, his expression serious as he reached out and gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear. Your heart skipped a beat at his touch, and you couldn't help but lean into it.
"I can't ignore this any longer," Joel began, his voice low and full of raw emotion. "I've been trying to fight it, but I can't deny how I feel about you any longer."
Your breath caught in your throat as he spoke those words, a rush of emotions flooding through you. Could it be possible that Joel felt the same way about you? Or was this all just some cruel joke?
"Joel..." You started, but he cut you off with a shake of his head.
"No, let me finish," he said firmly. "Ever since I first laid eyes on you, I haven't been able to get you out of my head. And when we spent that night together at the charity event...I knew then that I had feelings for you."
You were speechless, unable to believe what was happening. You had harbored secret feelings for Joel for so long and never thought they would be reciprocated.
"I know there's the whole boss-assistant dynamic between us," Joel continued with a small self-deprecating smile. "But I can't let that hold me back from telling you how I feel."
A mix of emotions swirled inside you, and you couldn't help but feel torn. On one hand, you wanted to give into the feelings that had been building between you and Joel for so long. But on the other hand, the thought of risking your professional relationship and possibly even your job was a daunting prospect.
"Joel, I-I don't know what to say," you stammered, feeling overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment.
He reached out and took your hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You don't have to say anything right now," he said softly. "I just needed to tell you how I feel."
Silence fell between you as you both stood there, lost in your own thoughts. You were torn between what your heart wanted and what your head was telling you was logical.
Finally, after what felt like hours, you gathered the courage to speak again. "Joel, I care about you too," you admitted quietly. "But there are so many complications..."
"I know," he said with a sad smile. "But we can figure it out together."
His words filled you with hope and warmth, but at the same time fear also crept in. You knew that pursuing a romantic relationship with Joel would be risky and could potentially cause problems at work.
Before either of you could say more, there was a knock on Joel's office door. Startled out of your reverie, you both turned to see Chelsea peeking her head inside.
"Hey guys, sorry to interrupt," she said apologetically. "But, Mr. Miller, we have that meeting with McKenna about the upcoming merger in 10 minutes."
After Chelsea left, Joel turned back to you, a hopeful expression on his face. "Can I see you later? Outside of work, I mean."
Your heart raced at the thought of spending more time with him outside of the office. You knew it was risky and could potentially cause problems, but the thrill of taking a chance with Joel was too enticing to resist.
"I'd like that...a lot," you replied, unable to stop a small smile from forming on your lips.
His face lit up at your response and he took a step closer towards you. "Can I kiss you?" he asked hesitantly.
You nodded eagerly. "Yes, please."
Without any hesitation, Joel leaned down and gently pressed his lips against yours. It was a gentle kiss at first, but quickly became more passionate as the chemistry between you two intensified. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him closer as he deepened the kiss.
Eventually, the need for air forced you both to pull away. You gazed into each other's eyes, both panting slightly from the intensity of the moment.
"I should go," you said reluctantly.
Joel nodded and gave your hand one last squeeze before letting go. "I'll see you later then? I’ll meet you at your place.”
You smiled and nodded before heading out of his office. As you walked back to your own desk, your mind raced with thoughts of Joel and what this could all mean for your future.

Later that evening, as you heard a knock at your door, you couldn't help but feel excited and nervous. You had been thinking about Joel all day and now here he was, standing outside your door with a beautiful bouquet of peonies.
You quickly peeked through the door viewer, confirming that it was indeed Joel standing there. Your heart fluttered in your chest as you took a deep breath and opened the door.
"Hi Sweetheart," he said with his perfect smile, his dimple making an appearance on the left corner of his cheek.
"Hey," you replied with a bashful smile. "Come in."
Joel stepped inside, holding out the vase of peonies towards you. "I brought these for you," he said, his eyes sparkling with affection.
You took them from him and breathed in their sweet scent. "Oh, Joel, you remembered.”
"Anythin’ for you," Joel said with a small grin.
You couldn't help but feel touched by his thoughtfulness. "Thank you for remembering. They're beautiful. Thank you."
He shrugged nonchalantly before turning to take off his shoes. "So what should we do tonight? I can cook us dinner or we could go out somewhere if you prefer."
The idea of Joel cooking for you sounded wonderful, but at the same time, going out together also seemed like an exciting adventure.
"How about we have dinner here tonight and then we can go out tomorrow?" You suggested.
"That sounds perfect," Joel agreed with a smile.
As he prepared dinner in your kitchen, the two of you chatted comfortably about work and other random topics. It felt easy to talk to Joel and be around him, like it was just natural for the two of you to be together.
After enjoying a delicious dinner cooked by Joel (who turned out to be quite the chef), the two of you sat on your couch watching a movie. As the movie played on, you couldn't help but steal glances at Joel, his eyes intense as they flicked between the screen and your face. The air between you crackled with an unspoken tension, the soft glow of the TV casting shadows that danced across his features.
Joel shifted slightly, his arm brushing against yours and sending a shiver down your spine. You turned to him, your heart pounding in your chest, and found yourself caught in his gaze. Without a word, he leaned in closer, his lips hovering just inches from yours.
The world around you faded away as Joel's mouth finally met yours in a searing kiss. His hands roamed over your body, igniting a fire within you that threatened to consume everything in its path. Your hands tangled in his hair, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened, becoming more urgent, more desperate.
You melted into each other, lost in a haze of passion and desire. Clothes were shed in a frenzy of need, skin meeting skin in a symphony of sensation. Joel's touch was electric, sending sparks throughout your body and setting every nerve on fire.
As you lay intertwined on the couch, your breathing heavy and your bodies covered in a thin sheen of sweat, Joel's eyes searched yours intensely.
"I've wanted to do this for so long," he whispered, his breath hot against your ear.
You couldn't form words as he began trailing kisses down your neck, leaving a trail of fire in his wake. His hands explored every inch of your body, worshipping you with his touch.
"I want you," you finally managed to say, arching your back as he grazed his teeth along your collarbone.
With a growl, Joel lifted you up into his arms and carried you to the bedroom.
He laid you down on the bed with a hunger in his eyes that sent shivers down your spine. His hands roamed over your body, tracing every curve and dip as if he was mapping out his favorite treasure. You moaned softly as his lips grazed over your skin, leaving a trail of fire in their wake.
Joel's kisses grew more urgent, more demanding, igniting a primal need within you. You tangled your fingers in his hair, pulling him closer as you whispered his name like a prayer. He captured your lips in a searing kiss, his tongue exploring every inch of your mouth with a fierce intensity that made your head spin.
He teased and tormented you with his touch, sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body. Your breath hitched as he plunged into you, filling you completely and setting your senses ablaze.
The rhythm between you grew frantic, fueled by a hunger that could not be satisfied. Every thrust brought you closer to the edge, your body yearning for his touch, craving the sweet release that only he could bring.
He whispered filthy words into your ear, his voice gruff and raw with desire. "You want it," he growled, "You need it." His fingers gripped your hips, guiding you onto his shaft with deliberate precision. You groaned, lost in the ecstasy of his touch, your body begging for more.
He kissed you fiercely, his tongue dueling with yours, their movements synchronized with the wild rhythm of their bodies. His hands roamed over your skin, leaving a trail of fire in their wake, as he explored every inch of your body with a possessive possessiveness.
You moaned, writhing against him, your body trembling with need, your heart pounding in sync with the frantic beat of his, as he plunged deeper into you with each thrust. Your nails dug into his back, leaving crescent marks that would later serve as a reminder of this night.
His lips trailed down your neck, leaving a trail of wet kisses as he nuzzled your collarbone, then your chest, and finally your nipples, which hardened under the gentle caress of his tongue. You arched your back, your body craving for more, as his hands cupped your breasts, kneading them with a ferocity that made you gasp.
As he continued to ravage your body, you could feel the heat building between your legs, a fiery ache that begged for relief. Your hips bucked against his, seeking that sweet release, the friction sending spears of pleasure through you. He groaned, his own arousal swelling, and he thrust harder, his hips meshing with yours.
His hands roamed your body, caressing your curves, leaving trails of electricity in their wake. You arched your back, your breasts thrusting forward, begging for his attention. He didn't disappoint, his mouth closing over one taut nipple, teeth gently scraping against the sensitive flesh, while his other hand trailed down your side, slipping between your legs.
Your breath hitched as his fingers found their mark, teasing your swollen folds, sending shivers of anticipation coursing through you. Your body trembled, desperate for his touch, for him to drown you in sensation. He obliged, his fingers delving deeper, slick with your arousal.
The roughness of his touch against your sensitive skin became a symphony of pleasure, as he slid in and out, his rhythm perfect, his fingers working in unison with the movements of his hips. You could feel yourself nearing the edge, your body coiling tighter and tighter with each thrust.
“Fuck, c’mon darlin, be a good girl, give it to me,” He groaned, as he sensed your impending release and increased the speed of his fingers, sending you over the edge in a wave of pure ecstasy. Your back arched off the bed, your nails digging into his skin as you cried out his name. He followed you over, spilling into you with a guttural moan.
You collapsed onto the bed, spent and breathless, but he wasn't done with you yet. He rolled you onto your hands and knees, positioning himself behind you. You felt him smirk against your back before he slammed into you again, filling you up completely.
His pace was rougher now, more primal as he claimed your body as his own. You met each thrust eagerly, reveling in the raw passion that flowed between you.
He reached around to caress your clit, adding another layer of stimulation to the already mind-blowing experience. Your moans and cries filled the room as he drove you both to new heights of pleasure.
As you were both on the verge of climax once again, he flipped you over onto your back and plunged into you one final time. With one hand gripping your thigh and the other tangled in your hair, he pounded into you with an intensity that left you breathless.
When he finally let go and spilled inside of you for a second time, it was like a dam had burst within both of them. You clung to each other as waves of pleasure washed over you both until eventually subsiding.
You lay there tangled together in a sweaty mess, your limbs intertwined as you both fought to catch your breath. The air was thick with the scent of passion, the sheets clinging to your bodies in a sensual embrace. As the haze lifted from your minds and your heart rates slowly returned to normal, you looked up at him and smiled, your eyes shining with a mix of contentment and wonder.
"That was incredible," you whispered, your voice barely above a breath, as if speaking too loudly might shatter the delicate moment.
His lips curved into a satisfied grin, his gaze burning into you with a intensity that sent a shiver down your spine. "You're incredible," he replied, his voice husky with desire, the words caressing your skin like a lover's touch.
You both lay there for a while, basking in the afterglow of your intense lovemaking. The sheets were tangled around the two of you, but it didn't matter. All that mattered was the feeling of being intertwined with him, your bodies still connected in an intimate embrace.
A part of you couldn't help but feel a twinge of apprehension, a nagging voice in the back of your mind warning you that this was uncharted territory. You were jumping headfirst into the deep end, and the risk of drowning was ever-present. But as you gazed into his eyes, the warmth and affection you saw there quelled your fears, replacing them with a sense of exhilaration and anticipation.
"I can't believe this is happening," you murmured, your fingers tracing the contours of his face, as if to reassure yourself that this was real. "I never thought we'd end up here, but I'm so glad we did."
He chuckled, the deep rumble of his laughter sending a shiver of delight through you. "Darlin', you have no idea how long I've been waitin' for this," he confessed, his hand caressing your cheek with a tenderness that belied the passion that had just consumed them.
You felt a surge of emotion welling up inside you, a mix of joy, trepidation, and a deep, abiding love that threatened to overwhelm you. "I'm scared," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. "But I'm also so excited to see where this takes us."
His expression softened, and he pulled you closer, his lips brushing against yours in a gentle, reassuring kiss. "I'm here, darlin'," he murmured, his breath warm against your skin. "We'll figure it out, together."
As you lost yourself in the warmth of his embrace, you knew that no matter the challenges, you would face them side by side. The risk of drowning may have been ever-present, but with him by your side, you were ready to dive in, to explore the depths of this newfound love and see where it would take you.

Stepping into the bustling flower shop, the scent of fresh blooms envelops you as you start another day of deliveries. Arrangements of roses, lilies, and tulips fill the space with vibrant colors and intoxicating fragrances. Above the door, the bell softly chimes, signaling your departure into the city– A particularly exquisite bouquet in hand. An imposing skyscraper of a major corporation was today’s first destination, a rare delivery for the quaint little shop.
Carefully cradling the flowers in your arms, you navigated the crowded streets until reaching the towering building. Sleek and modern, the lobby contrasts starkly with the charming disarray of the flower shop. You couldn’t help but feel a flutter of nerves as you approached the elevators. Hearing the door ding open, you begin to step inside, unbeknownst to you that James Barnes, the CEO, was stepping out.
Suddenly, and chaotically; the collusion causes the petals to scatter across the polished, marble floor in a kaleidoscope of colors.
“I’m so sorry, sir!” The words spilled out in a frantic rush, and you dropped to your knees, gathering the fallen flowers desperately. Your hand shook as you tried to salvage the bouquet. Panic surging through you, your heart pounding in your chest.
Mr Barnes stood above you, a towering figure of authority and magnetism. Sharp and discerning, his eyes flickered with something unreadable as he watched you. For a moment, his expression is inscrutable, then suddenly, his lips twitch as if suppressing a smile. Your breath hitched at the intensity in his gaze, as if he was sending unspoken commands that sent a shiver down your spine.
Giving you a momentary reprieve, he looked away, clearing his throat. Your cheeks flushed with embarrassment as you interpreted his reaction as disdain. Scrambling together the last of the petals, you muttered apologies and small comments about how your boss would be furious.
As you manage to compose yourself, you catch sight of the now crumpled box that the flowers were in. Unbeknownst to you, Mr Barnes took a mental note of the shop’s name emblazoned on the side. You were left flustered and humiliated, convinced you had left a terrible impression on the older, powerful CEO.
~
Later that day, you were surprised to hear that he had called the shop. He explained the incident was his fault, not yours, and agreed to order flowers for the building regularly. “To brighten up the office,” he claimed, but his motives were more complex, layering with an interest that went beyond mere floral appreciation.
The routine of delivering flowers to the building became almost comforting as the weeks passed. Yet, one morning, as you stepped into the lobby with a small bouquet of pink hydrangeas, you were unaware that he was watching, waiting for you on the cameras. The phone on the receptionist’s desk rang, echoing through the lobby, and she answered with a practiced smile.
“Certainly, sir,” she replied, her accent thick. She turned to you after hanging up. “Mr Barnes wants you to deliver these personally today.”
Taking the visitor key card she offered, your pulse quickened, and a mix of anticipation and dread bubbled within you. While making your way to the top floor, it was as if you could feel his gaze on you through the security cameras, a silent, omnipresent observer. The elevator doors open to the executive floor, and you step out, your grip tightening around the bouquet.
With a deep breath, you walked toward his office. The encounter of your first meeting played over and over in your mind. Ruining his suit, you felt jittery and self-conscious. Yet, as you enter his office, you see him there, every bit as intimating as you recall. His broad body was wrapped in a dark suit, attempting to look welcoming but still imposing.
You felt small by the opulent surroundings as you hesitantly stepped further inside. “Hi… I, I’m, I brought the flowers you ordered,” your voice trembled slightly as you held up the bouquet– The vibrant pinks contrasting against the muted elegance of the office.
“Thank you, come, place them on the desk,” he instructed, his gaze never leaving yours. His voice was low, commanding yet inviting, almost like a purr.
As you made your way towards the massive glass desk, you couldn’t help but notice the way he watched your every move. His gaze followed you with an intensity that made your skin prickle. Placing the flowers down carefully, you turned to face him, your heart pounding.
You begin to thank him before his low voice interrupts. “What’s your name?” You stutter as you tell him, feeling even smaller under his intense gaze. A small, almost predatory smile curved his lips. “Such a sweet little doll, tell me, are you always so clumsy?”
Shifting uncomfortably, you felt a heat rise to your cheeks. “I… I didn’t mean to be. It was an accident.”
A hint of amusement glinted in his eyes, his smile widening. “Let’s hope it doesn’t happen again. From now on, bring the flowers directly to me. Understood?”
“Y-Yes, sir,” you whispered, nodding quickly. You turn to leave, his glass of whiskey in his hand catching your eye. “I b-better get going,” you stammered, slightly moving toward the door.
“Do you not want to join this old man for a drink?” He held out the glass toward you, the amber liquid glistening in the light.
Glancing nervously at the clock behind him, you hesitated. “I really shouldn’t… I’m still on work time.”
Raising an eyebrow, a hint of a smile still played on his lips. “Just one drink. It won’t take long.”
Your fingers brushed against his as your trembling hands took the glass. The contact sent a shiver down your spine. “Thank you,” you whispered, nervousness and curiosity coursing through you.
“To unexpected encounters,” he toasted, his eyes still locked onto yours.
Taking a small sip, the warmth spreads through you. “To unexpected encounters,” you echoed, your voice barely audible.
He watched you intently, an unspoken tension thick in the air. The walls of his office seemed to close in around you, the lighting added to the intimacy of the moment. “Tell me, doll, how long have you been working at the flower shop?” he asked, leaning back in his leather desk chair slighting.
“About six months,” you replied, your finger tapping the glass nervously.
“And, do you enjoy it?” he asked, his gaze never wavering.
“Yes, sir, I-I do… it’s peaceful,” you said, your heart still raced but your voice became steadier.
“Peaceful, huh?” He tilted his head, considering your words. “Not like this place,” he added with a wry smile, his whiskey glass-filled hand gesturing around the room. The walls were lined with large abstract paintings and bookshelves filled with finance, and self-improvement books.
Taking another glance around, you took in the grandeur of his office. “It’s… very impressive,” you admitted, your eyes returning to his.
“Oh, you think so?” His smile widened once again, amusement dancing over his piercing blue eyes. “You don’t find it… intimidating?”
“A little,” you confessed, your cheeks growing hotter.
“Good,” he said, his tone serious as he leaned back again. His fingers steepled beneath his chin. “It’s meant to be. But, you, doll,” he added, his expression softening slightly, “you shouldn’t be intimidated.”
You swallowed hard, his comments catching you off guard. “I- I should really get back to the shop,” you said, your voice barely audible again.
“If you must,” he conceded, reluctance lacing in his voice. “But remember, little doll… I expect to see you here every week with those fresh flowers.”
“Yes, sir,” you nodded, a strange sense of excitement and apprehension rushing through you. “I, um, thank you for the drink.”
“Anytime, babydoll,” he replied, his eyes lingering on you as you turned to leave.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you walked back to the elevator. The marble floors echo your footsteps, and the soft hum of the employees fills your ears. The conversation replayed in your mind, every word, every glance.
The enigmatic and powerful James Barnes had taken a particular interest in you, and you realized that your weekly deliveries were about to become much more intriguing.

Jelly Legs- ArthurTV
Becoming a camerawoman for ChrisMD meant two things;
Standing out in all weathers for hours on end watching people try to shoot a ball into the net and
Trying not to stare at ArthurTV while doing number one.
You were first introduced to Arthur on your first day on the job, you were obviously nervous but professional and found it sweet Arthur spent his down time when he wasn’t taking part in the video, asking you questions. It was a ritual now, after shooting had wrapped for the day Arthur would stop for you a chat, one of his questions was always ‘what are you doing after this?’ so you would tell him your plans whether it be with some friends or mostly going home and edit the photos from the shoot before watching some Netflix and Arthur’s response would always be ‘cool,’ and a nod before he stuttered and walked off to speak to Chris.
“Do you mind that Arthur has a crush on your videographer?” George asked when him and Chris were getting into an Uber to go home after another very long shoot. Your day was far from over still, you had to take the equipment back to the office and back up the SD cards before heading home.
“Nope, it’s been what? Eight months now and it’s still the exact same routine, he stares at her, talks to her about animal mating rituals, she follows him around with a camera for apparent content,” Chris said doing the finger quotes before continuing “Then he asks her what she’s doing that evening but never follows it up with oh you’re not doing anything? Maybe we could go out? There’s nothing to be worried about, Arthur is a man of habit,” the small man explained as he played with his phone. George nodded in agreement but just because he agreed with it didn’t necessarily mean that was the way it had to be.
“Has she said anything to you about possibly liking him back?” George asked raising his scarred eyebrow.
“No, I don’t know a ton about her outside of work, she tends to keep things professional mostly. I know she loved science fiction films so they’d be a good pairing in that sense,” Chris replied with a shrug and George nodded.
“When’s the next time you’re going out with your team? Let’s invite her along, I think it’s time you got to know her a little bit more socially,” George suggested and Chris nodded, just because he was unlucky in love didn’t mean he wasn’t willing to help out a friend.
“So if you fancy is we’re all going to go out for dinner and then some drink’s next Friday?” Chris asked you the next time you were both in the office, setting the wheels of the plan in motion.
“Oh wow, yeah sounds good,” you nodded before looking back to your screen.
“Really? Okay great,” Chris replied and you looked at him a little and frowned.
“Unless you were just asking me to be polite…”
“Oh no no no! It’s just, I wasn’t expecting you to say yes so quickly. I’ve kind of noticed you tend to keep to yourself quite often. Its one of the reasons why we’re doing this actually, to get to know everyone outside of work, I like to think it’s quite cool and relaxed here and I’m not some horrible slave driver boss,” Chris explained and you nodded. You did keep to yourself often and people had sometimes pegged you as unfriendly when you were simply unsure.
“Sure, it sounds good,” you smiled and Chris nodded before adding the line that made your heart thump a little.
“George and Arthur will be there too,” You needed a new outfit.
After work that day you went shopping, it wasn’t your favourite thing to do in the world and it was something you could do quite quickly, it was often the case that whenever you had money and needed to buy something there was never anything, here you now were in Westfield trudging through each shop in a desperate attempt to try and find something that made her look good but also make it look like she wasn’t making too much of an effort. She picked up a black cami with a floral pattern and lace trim, feeling the material between her fingers, maybe this would work some jeans? Suddenly she heard a voice the other side of her which sent chills right down to her bone.
“You know you suit dresses a lot more,” the dark voice said in a low tone, you froze and kept trying to tell yourself that this couldn’t be happening, there was no way he was here, it all had to be a misunderstanding, a terrible one at that.
You finally mustered the courage to look up and there he was in front of you, the one person you never wanted to see ever again in your life, the person who you thought you would never see again, sure the legal side of things had ended but perhaps naively you thought he wasn’t so stupid that he would seek you out and talk to you again. You pulled the hanger with the top on it from the rail and marched to the till, hoping that human interaction with someone else could firstly, cause him to back off and secondly it would stop you from bursting into tears. You bought the top but it only kept the tears at bay for those five minutes as the second you left the shop they started to flow. Your vision was blurry from tears no matter how hard you tried to wipe them away as they were being replaced so quickly. You could see a man approach you and you started to panic, your breath quickened in pace and you started to wheeze ever so slightly, feeling the intense squeezing sensation in your chest, a panic attack. You hadn’t had one of these in over four months, you were doing so well. The figure got closet but you noticed the hair wasn’t long and brown so it couldn’t have been him. But he was a big guy, you could tell he was definitely a gym bunny, it wasn’t until you could hear his voice that you started to relax.
“Y/N, Y/N it’s me Reev, what’s happened? Are you okay? Let’s get you somewhere a bit quieter,” he said softly and you nodded. Your main work was for Chris but as he didn’t have a crazy upload schedule you would often do other work in your down time mostly for other Youtubers as they knew your work from Chris and or shared an office with him so it was easy to coordinate.
You could only nod, not having the strength or ability to speak in that moment. It was only when you started to walk you noticed Theo who walked on the other side of you, you were squished between the pair and managed to find some seats in a quieter part of the shopping centre off from the main stretch of shops.
“Do you live far from here?” Theo asked scrolling on his phone for Chris’s number, not knowing who else to contact. Your breathing was still very erratic so you shook your head, it was roughly a ten or fifteen minute bus ride away so an Uber would take closer to ten minutes if not a little bit less.
“Do you have a housemate or anything we can call?” Reev asked but once again you shook your head as you gripped onto the bench so tightly while trying to steady your breathing. You lived alone, you had lived alone since you and him broke up, him. You couldn’t believe after so long you would ever bump into him, let alone him having the audacity to speak to you and now after months of hard work he was at the forefront of your mind yet again.
“Hey Chris, are you home? We’ve got a bit of a situation here,” Theo asked Chris who he had now gotten on the phone, he explained the situation with the little information he had and Chris agreed you could go to his if you needed somewhere. You were starting to feel incredibly embarrassed but still hadn’t gained your ability to speak, or regulate your breathing properly so off to Chris’s you went with Theo and Reev in tow.
“What’s happened?” Chris asked once you were settled on the sofa, a mug of tea in hand, a very concerned ArthurTV and George sitting on the other sofa staring at you waiting for answers.
“I saw my ex,” you managed to spit out, staring at the wall in front of you, you had a thousand yard stare, it was obvious you had been traumatised by something.
“Must have been a pretty shitty ex for you to react like that,” Theo noted. Arthur frowned, the thought of you being so upset by someone did not make him feel good, from the little he knew of you he had only known you as an incredibly sweet person.
“He was. I was so surprised to see him because well…” You sighed, it was all going to come out anyway you may as well let the cat out of the bag. You took a deep breath to compose yourself before speaking again “He went to prison, he was violent.” You stated before downing a big gulp of tea. An uncomfortable and stunned silence filled the room as you looked around to see everyone’s faces, there was a mixture of pity, shock and anger, it was usually what you got.
“Did you know he was out?” Arthur was the one to break the silence, he needed to know more, he needed to know if you were okay.
“Yeah, there’s no restraining order or anything, not anymore. I had a no contact order but he didn’t go to prison because of me, he had a fight with someone else, but still I just didn’t think he was stupid enough to talk to me in that shop. If you guys hadn’t have seen me I don’t know what would have happened,” you burst into tears again as everyone looked at each other not knowing what to do for a crying woman. Chris gave you a hug first, some of the others did too in an attempt to cheer you up, you spent the next hour telling everyone your story, asking their questions to the best of your ability.
“That’s why I keep to myself a lot and keep things professional, I’m so so scared to let anybody else in,” you explained, your gaze flicking to Arthur briefly.
“I can’t say I blame you, but you know if you need anything you can call on any of us right?” George offered as he nudged Arthur a little and the brown eyed boy nodded profusely.
“You know you’re safe with us,” Arthur added and you nodded, you did feel safe with them, but could you open up in the way you wanted to?
Armed with their new knowledge the boys had well and truly embraced you into their inner circle, the best part was as far as you could tell they weren’t just doing it because they felt sorry for you but they were genuine.
The work drinks were a huge success, you spent a lot of time talking to people but mostly you chatted to Arthur, George and Chris although pleased the two of you were talking were now very aware of the complication, as was Arthur but he was determined to not treat you any differently, in fact he was even more determined as he wanted to show you just how you should be treated, you deserved the very best.
“Do you think somewhere in China there’s English takeaway serving up questionable fish and chips and steak and kidney pies?” You asked Arthur as the pair of you tucked into a takeaway. The two of you had started to hang out together just you two. It was purely platonic, you had mentioned you had wanted to learn how to play chess so now it was a regular thing going over to his flat to play a game, eat and talk about your views of the world. For some reason this particular evening had ended up being a little boozy, Arthur often liked a drink but this evening he seemed to be drinking a little but more and also tonight you were in a mood to match him somewhat.
“Maybe, I want to go to China. I had a great time in Sri Lanka, I need to go to Asia a lot more plus it’s so diverse,” Arthur mentioned to you, you hadn’t travelled a lot but it was on your bucket list.
“I’ve never been outside of Europe, I’d really love to do something like that,” you replied as you ate your food.
“Maybe we could do something together? Only if you wanted to of course…” Arthur asked trailing off at the end as his shyness kicked in.
“That sounds amazing,” you smiled and blushed before eating some more of your dinner.
The two of you continued to eat in a comfortable silence, you always insisted on washing up when you went over to his flat despite his insistence it was fine but the two of you had a routine now, you washed and he dried and put away. You handed him a plate, the blush rising very quickly on your cheeks as your hand brushed with his momentarily.
“You’re very cute when you blush,” Arthur said, his eyes widened, he didn’t realise he had said it until the words fell out of his mouth, he stuttered a little as he tried to come up with something to say and now it was his cheeks which were the red ones. You couldn’t help but admire how cute he looked all flustered.
“I’m sorry,” he managed to choke out eventually and you frowned a little and shook your head.
“Don’t be sorry, it’s always nice to hear a compliment. You’re cute when you blush too,” you replied looking down a little picking up the fork and cleaning it so the last of the washing up was over.
“I just don’t want you to think I’m coming on too strong or that I’m only after something. There’s some nice guys out there and I really hope you believe you deserve something nice,” Arthur gushed, he didn’t know why he was saying this let alone why he was saying it now but he couldn’t help himself, the words were spilling out of his mouth he just couldn’t hold onto them anymore. You looked at Arthur carefully, trying to ignore the thumping in your chest. You reached out and grabbed his hand lightly walking back to the sofa where you both sat, hands still entwined and now resting on his knee.
“I know, I think you’re one of the good ones. I didn’t say anything before because of my past and I was scared to get into anything but I don’t want my past to effect my future anymore.” You admitted and Arthur had a very small and hopeful smile on his face.
“Does that mean we can maybe go out for dinner next time?” He asked his voice shaking ever so slightly.
“I’d really like that,” you replied with a giggle. This was going to be different in the best way possible.

The house you and Aaron buy is small, and in one word; picturesque. The outside panels are a soft, faded yellow and the shutters are brown.
It’s not a fixer-upper by any means, though Aaron talks often about the wood floors that will need to be redone in a few years, and the kitchen tile and backsplash that aren't in the condition he would quite like.
There’s other things too, like the downstairs bathroom with the peeling, floral patterned wallpaper and the carpet in Jack’s room. He worries about redoing the wallpaper—visions of hours of peeling it off and getting new sheets up and if there’s mold behind the paper, but you like it. It makes it feel like you’ve lived in this house your whole life.
Your shared bedroom is upstairs, down the hall from Jack and the first room off the stairs. You like the simplicity of this house most of all, nothing too grand or vain. When the realtor had taken you for a showing, Aaron was off on a case in Florida and Jack was at school. You felt silly touring alone, because it would have been easier to imagine living here with Aaron and Jack by your side, but you do it anyway.
You love Aaron’s apartment and you have more memories than you can count there—visions of making oatmeal raisin cookies with Jack and your first date with Aaron (a dinner that he cooked followed by a record playing softly and dancing in the living room) pop into your mind—but it’s running out of space, and it’s not quite like home.
This house is home in all the best ways. A big kitchen with an island, where you can picture a cookie jar and a tall counter stool where Jack sits and eats his oatmeal before school.
The living room has big windows and there’s a smaller playroom off the foyer, and in an instant you can picture the rest of your life here. You tell Aaron that night on the phone, and the three of you pay a visit the following weekend. You’re signing papers and packing up boxes two weeks later.
It doesn’t feel like it’s been much time at all, but you realize you’re coming up on almost a year of this house. Your house, the both of yours, the family house. This will be Jack and his siblings’ childhood home.
If you can ever get your husband into bed, that is.
It’s eight-thirty on Friday night. Jack has been at a birthday party-sleepover night since about five. Aaron returned from a case in Michigan less than twenty four hours ago. You had been asleep, late Thursday evening, when he came back home.
He’d gone to the office today and then picked up Jack from school to bring him over to the sleepover. You had triple checked that he’d packed everything he needed—pajamas, toothbrush, his emergency Epi-pen—but forgot the birthday boy’s present in the back seat of your car.
You and Aaron drive back over to deliver the gift, make polite small talk with the parents, and then rush out of there.
Aaron had set up a whole plan. Dinner reservations, dessert at the ice cream place near the house, and then a quiet night in, which was long awaited and desperately needed.
However, nothing goes as planned. You miss the reservation window by ten minutes trying to get Jack’s friend the stupid gift—a Lego Star-Wars kit—before they open presents and cut cake. The ice cream shop is closed due to renovations. You return home to missed calls from your boss and a stack of Aaron’s paperwork on the counter.
“Take out it is,” Aaron says, rifling through the drawer next to the oven. There’s more flyers in there than he thinks, and he still can’t find the one he’s looking for. “Honey? Where’s the menu for that one Indian place-”
“Side of the fridge,” you call back, typing away on your laptop. He doesn’t have to finish his sentences anymore. It makes him smile every time. He locates the menu and brings it to you on the couch.
“What’d you think? The usual?”
“I have a couple ideas.” You are starving, and not for food.
You’re in Aaron’s lap before you can even think about it. He has big hands, very big, very strong hands, that grip you by the waist and hoist you on top of him in a moment. It takes your breath away, momentarily, and then he really takes your breath away.
He kisses you like it’s his first and last time ever being able to do so. His hands roam all over your body and it makes every part of you tingle in anticipation. He grabs your ass with both hands and then slaps it hard—hard enough that it hurts, but he knows you well enough to welcome the moan you emit into his mouth.
Your hands run through his hair and then focus on loosening his tie and unbuttoning his shirt. It’s hard to think, though, with him beneath you and his hardness pressing against you in all the best ways. You want to stay here on the couch and grind yourself against him until you’re both sweating and cumming—but he has other plans.
Always a gentleman, always patient, he pulls away from the kiss and lets you catch your breath. Your foreheads are pressed together, noses touching, and you briefly take in that after so many years of knowing him, Aaron will always take your breath away.
“Why’d you stop?” you question innocently, and he thinks he’ll lose his mind. “Let’s go upstairs.”
“Why? I think this is perfect.” You lean back in to kiss him hard, losing yourself in the sweet taste of his mouth—always coffee—and his aroma, which draws you in no matter where you are.
He laughs into your mouth, pulling away again. You make a soft noise of displeasure, but it all goes away when he lifts you up to carry you to your bedroom.
He puts you down first, and gets rid of the tie you undid downstairs. You watch with big eyes while he hovers over you, until he finally leans down and your lips meet again. It’s all too natural to take off your dress and spread your legs and help him pull off his button-up, moaning into your kisses and enjoying the feeling of his hand in your hair, pulling softly.
You like Aaron all of the time, but you’re incredibly biased when he’s like this. You’ve never had to ask for anything, and he somehow knows everything you like. He lines more kisses along your neck, down to your chest. Just as you hear him, low and heady, murmuring, “Tell me what you want,” and getting ready to answer, needy out of your mind and ready to tell him that you need to be fucked, hard, now, his phone goes off.
You exhale. Aaron drops his head in defeat against your chest.
“I’m sorry, honey, hold on a minute,” he starts, leaning over you to get his phone from the nightstand.
“Who is it?” “JJ. It must be a case, I’ll just-”
“Wait, wait,” you whisper. “If it’s a case you can go in ten minutes.”
“Ten minutes?” he questions, eyebrow raised. You look back at him sheepishly.
“Okay, fifteen minutes. I mean, nothing’s gonna change in a half an hour, right? Fifteen minutes here and then fifteen minutes to get there.”
“Honey, I really shouldn’t-”
“I mean, think about it. Everyone else probably isn’t even there yet. You’ll just be sitting around waiting for them before you start. So really, I’m saving you time.”
You both lock eyes and burst into laughter.
“I’ll get your go-bag,” you say, as he answers JJ’s call. You’re about to get up, looking for your haphazardly discarded dress and Aaron’s shirt, when you feel Aaron grip your forearm.
“Hotchner. Okay, JJ, thanks. I’ll be there in forty.” He hangs up and looks back at you, frozen in place. “You have twenty-five minutes to tell me what you want.” You squeal when he pulls you back into bed, kissing you hard.
He gets to the office an hour later.

Plus Size, Cute/Nerdy Indie Fashion
No links, because I don't want Tumblr to eat the post, but message me if you have questions on anything. And if you have any suggestions for me, please let me know!
Morning Witch - Flora and fauna prints. I've purchased multiple midi skirts (with pockets!) and T-shirts, and one fantastic sweater. My datemate @fortangel loves their button downs, which have hip buttons to allow for more room.
Fresh Hot Flavors - Gorgeous prints and patterns, from floral to fantasy, anime-inspired to mythology, and of course pride colors. I've got their maxi and midi skirts, plus petticoats, all of which are super comfy and gorgeous and, again, pocketed.
Maya Kern - I've had my eye on her skirts for AGES, and now that I've got a few of my own I couldn't be happier! Once again, flora and fauna prints, plus some other neat options. These seem to fit a tad bit more snugly than the first two, so keep that in mind with sizing and be sure to pay attention to the measurements.
Witch Vamp - More skirts with pockets, skater, midi and max! A slightly darker/more edgy style, and some solid colors available too. My spider lily skirt from this shop may be the single most comfortable piece of clothing I own.
Vetiver Fox - Admittedly I don't have one of their skirts yet, but they're absolutely gorgeous and I'll be getting one as soon as they're in stock this summer. Truly stunning patterns, flora, fauna, and mythological.
Sealkie Cove - Source of my ridiculous, beloved, neon pink furby button down.
Crowlines - I don't have any of their clothes yet either, but the patterns are SO cute! Skirts and button downs. The best kitten prints ever, I think.
Cheek Boss - Odd shop out here, this one sells underwear and socks. The designs are lovely, they're ridiculously comfortable, and these are the first underwear I've ever looked at myself in and thought "Wow, I look cute!" The socks are also super cute, but I've had quality issues. Then again, they were from their first batch when they first started selling socks, and may have improved.

Anything For You (Sukuna x Reader)
WARNING: None? Angst. Feeling emotional
Tumblr media
Usually its you who's the talkative one in the relationship; you always talk about your day, a video you saw and the random cat that followed you when you went shopping. However today it was different, Sukuna noticed how lost you looked all day.
You haven't annoyed him with early morning kisses, you haven't got out of bed as early as you Usually do, you woke up silence just quietly going about your day. Sukuna raised a brow when you took your coffee mug and went back to sit at the dining table; you Usually would chat with him all morning even when he was showering and getting ready for work.
He pulled out his phone and texted his boss that he had a "Family emergency" and that he won't be attending his work today which his boss didn't mind since Sukuna never missed a day in work.
He made his way to you and sitting next to you at the dining table watching you drinking your coffee looking at the wall ahead, "I was thinking we should go shopping today, we haven't in a long time, hum?" He asked snapping you out of you thoughts. "What about work? Are you not going to work today?" You asked confused. He shrugged, "I took a day off now go get ready I'm taking you shopping." He said taking another sip of his drink, you nodded before drinking your coffee and going back to your shared room.
In the shower you were awfully quiet; Usually you'd be singing a random song that was heard throughout the house but now you just stood under the shower eyes shut thinking about nothingness. Sukuna entered the bathroom, "Sweetie are you done?" He would call you that only when you were upset or mad at him; you didn't notice that so you pulled the shower curtain away a bit, "Yes, hand me the towel Darling." He nodded and handed you the towel then left.
You called him Darling which means you are not mad at him. He made sure to complement you once you were ready, in your pink floral dress, "you look stunning, is this the hair clip I got you from Malaysia?" You nodded happily when he kissed your head noticing the butterfly clip. He smiled, "cute, you look so cute. Let's go, where do you wanna go first? The mall?"
You nodded holding his hand, it wasn't long before you started to go back to the quiet mood, three hours into shopping you would zone out while Sukuna would be talking. He just watched looking out of place so he decided to head home, usually you would rush to kitchen to cook for him, you weren't the best at it but you tried however today you simply went to fall on the couch your eyes closed, Sukuna started to get worried. You were acting not like yourself, he decided to order some food before kneeling infront of you trying to meet his gaze with your lost eyes, you smiled small when your eyes met his, he placed a gentle hand on your head that was it for you.
Tears started to stream down your eyes rapidly it took Sukuna out of surprised as you sat up on the couch sobbing while covering your face trying to stop your tears from falling but they won't stop, Sukuna jumped to your side holding your face in his hands as you sobbed, he pulled you closer, "hey, hey there what's wrong, Baby? Why are you so upset?" He asked rubbing your back making you cry even more shaking your head, "I-I don't know, I don't k-know w-why I'm so sad and it's sc-scaring me Suk-sukuna," you cried in his chest as he tried his best to calm you down.
"I got you, I'm here sweetheart, it's okay, shhh." He kissed your head over and over as you cried in his arms, he really hated seeing you upset but he knew that random emptiness you'd feel, he knew the feeling all too well; so he let you cry out until you couldn't anymore but by then you felt sleepy, he kissed your head before helping you wash your face and removing your make-up while you sat on the toilet seat, you watched him silently as he did your skincare routine; he didn't miss a step. After you were done he helped you change into comfy clothes, by then the food arrived. He knew you wanted to sleep but you had to eat first.
He sat next to you as he feed you with his own hands and caressing your cheeks every other minute and you smiled at him, "thank you for taking care of me." He smiled at you words, "I'll do anything for you sweetheart." You beamed at his words, "even get me an ice cream? I want an ice cream," you pouted and he laughed nodding, "anything your heart wants is my command, we'll get you your ice cream but after dinner." You smiled wide taking a mouthful bite of the pasta he feed you.

You Are My Honey
*TW* Yandere, obsessive tones, mates, Bear hybrid, NOT PROOFREAD (Tell me if you notice anymore)
THIS IS MY FIRST STORY I HAVE EVER WRITTEN SO IGNORE ANY MISTAKES, I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND MY PERFERED WRITING STYLE!
TELL ME IF YOU WANT A SMUT PART 2!!
*One part of my story is inspired by a scene in another story I read, don't remember the author*
Tumblr media
*Not My Picture*
What had the world become? You sit alone on your couch in a small little apartment you could barely afford, for what? To get up in the morning go to your job at the floral shop and make a couple bucks a day?? All alone because you don't have time to invest in a romance that would probably end after a month, because who would want to be with a 'workaholic' who only has time to stay at their job. All your friends got some husband or boyfriend or...... mate.
The subject of 'mates' confused you, hybrids are just now being accepted into society and now are 'mating' on people. With how many hybrids are finding their mates the government is passing a law allowing them to be with said mates. The thought scared you, maybe because you didn't know enough about it. Imagine going about your normal day and some random person, with ears or a tail, starts talking about how you are destined to be together. Scary, or romantic??
Finally getting out of your daydreaming you look at the clock and realize you are gonna be late for work if you don't leave this second. Running out the door, almost forgetting your bag, you rush downstairs and run down the street. You lived pretty close to the floral shop so it was easy for you to get there fast. Barley making it on time your boss gives you a long list of orders you have to prepare. Your day has officially started..
*Time skip*
After work you make it back to the apartment, dropping your keys in your tray and making a bee line to the couch. Your phone rings and you realize your best friend was asking if you were free. Once you text them you are you start getting ready. They didn't give you a lot of details but told you to dress casual.
They text you to meet them outside your apartment in 30 min and they were gonna pick you up. Getting ready you finally make it down the stairs and wait outside for her. Seeing her car pull up and her getting out you both greet each other. "You are gonna love it" she said, "I got invited to some party on the nice side of town, supposedly there is going to be a lot of nice, respectable men there!!!" Winking at you she started the car and started driving. "You know I am not looking for anyone right now, no one is gonna wanna be with me when I can barely go out. I mean I got lucky today and my boss let me off early!" "You might find someone who doesn't mind.... Or someone who makes some money, so you don't have to work as much." Both of you start laughing.
Finally making it to the house you guys pull into the drive way and a bunch of people walking around, inside and outside. "Is the house made of just glass" you question. "I guess it is the new thing with rich people, let everyone see your business" You both get out of the car, after parking it, and walk toward the entrance. Suddenly the both of you tense, realizing there weren't just humans at this party. Now you both don't have a problem with hybrids going into public places or having the same rights you have, but never being near one before and seeing their sharp teeth or ears freaked you both out.
You were the first one to relax a little, realizing they were just there to have fun, like everyone else. "I didn't know they were gonna be here sorry" your friend apologized. "It's OK, they are here just like us, no problems." You both walk in together and browse around to see who and what exactly was here.
A loud booming voice can be heard across the room. Everyone's heads turn towards the owner of the voice. You freeze in fear, or maybe just shock, you aren't quite sure. But you know for sure that the owner of that voice is not someone you want to cross paths with ever again.
He was ginormous with arms that could pick you up and throw you a mile away.... maybe even more than that. His shaggy honey brown hair draped around his face almost majestically. He smiled and you noticed his canines are pointier that anyone you have ever seen before.... wait, wait, wait. You could hit yourself for not noticing the round brown ears on the top of his head. That is why he is so much bigger than everyone in the room.... he is a grizzly bear hybrid.
You look to your friend in panic and notice she had the same look on her face. Grizzly bear hybrids are rare and tend to be more aggressive than other predator hybrids. You have never seen one before in person, you considered yourself lucky until now.
Finally zoning back in from your panic you realize that some non-hybrids share the same look as you and your friend do. Looking back over to the owner of the voice you catch his stare. Freezing up once again you can't look away from those... black eyes? or maybe they are a dark brown, you can't tell from the distance. Snapping out of your shock you realize he stops to... sniff.... no he can't be sniffing the air... can he?
Then realization hits you when he starts heading your way. You heard that hybrids could smell who their mate is, but it couldn't be. You can't possibly be his mate. Panic sets in again and you couldn't tell if you were overreacting, it couldn't be you he was heading towards. But still, you grab your friend's arm and bolt away before he could get close enough to start a conversation.
"What- Where are we going??" Your friend asks "We need to leave right no-" "WAIT, YOU IN THE (F/C) SHIRT!!" You could have sworn the ground shook with how loud his voice was. You don't freeze, now that you know for sure he was looking for you. "Is that-" You cut your friend off "We need to leave." She doesn't hesitate to grab her car keys from her pocket and catch up with your fast steps.
Looking behind you see the hybrid trying to make his way through the crowd. "WAIT, WAIT!!" He sounded so desperate, you almost felt bad if you still didn't feel the pit in your stomach. Looking ahead of you again, you both make it to the front door, storming out of the house and to the car. While your friend was starting it you both hear the front door slam open, turning your head to the side you see the hybrid rushing out. Your friend gets the car started and hits the gas to go forward. Looking back, you see him chasing the car with.... were those tears in his eyes? No, it couldn't be, he didn't even know you. Finally relaxing in your chair, you lay back and look at your friend and say, "I don't think I am going to go to a party with you for a while." Making eye contact you both start giggling. "I understand completely" she says in between her giggling.
*Time Skip*
You wake up with a raging headache, barley remembering what happened yesterday you groan and sit up. Then you pause as you remember who you saw and ran away from yesterday. A chill goes down your spine and you remember his smile with those pointed teeth. But you snap yourself out of it and say, "He didn't do anything wrong; I shouldn't be scared for no reason." But you can't shake the feeling of fear you felt when you saw him.
Getting out of bed you get ready for work, which you are supposed to be there in an hour. Changing into a cute shirt and jeans you make yourself your (Favorite breakfast). Once you finish your food, you grab your keys and head for the door. Getting in your car you start heading over to the floral shop. Entering the store was a whole dream, all the beautiful flowers and the addicting smells you can't help but smile. Making it to the back your boss greets you and gives you the orders to start the day.
A couple hours later you hear the door open and close, looking up to greet the customer you freeze. "Welc-...." Standing before you was the (at least 6'3) huge hybrid from yesterday. "I have been looking all over for you! Since you left so abruptly yesterday, I tracked down your scent and found you here! I was going to go to your apartment, but I thought that might have been too far." The smile on his face not disappearing, even after you didn't respond and just stared at him.
"You found me by my..... scent??" The sheer surprise you had confused him, his eyebrows furrowing. "Well of course honey, how else would I find you?" ..... Honey?!?!? Why is he calling you that?? Shaking the shock off you respond "Excuse me? I don't know you sir and I don't appreciate being called honey." If it could even be possible his eyebrows furrowed even more, before it looked like he realized something. "Oh dear! I forgot to introduce myself!! My names is Caleb, and I realize this might seem weird for you but... how do I word this.... well you are my mate!" The smile on his face grew 10 times when he said 'mate'
Chills rushed down your spine, and not the good kind. "Did you just say mates? No that can't be, I am sorry, but you have the wrong person." You almost felt bad as his face dropped, but you reminded yourself he basically stalked you to work! "But -" You cut him off, "I am really sorry and I wish you the best of luck finding who you are looking for." Tears started welling in his eyes.
"(Y/N)!" Turning around you see your boss, "Yes, sir?" "Come here right now!" Looking back at Caleb you quickly turn and rush to the backroom. "Wha-" You were cut off, "You need to leave, and take the b-bear with you!" "What si-" "LEAVE! You are gonna make business go down, so take him with you!" "Bu-" You were being shoved out of the room towards a very hopeful looking bear.
"You kids have fun!" Turning around the store door was closed in your face. Turning around to look at Caleb, you turn and start walking towards your car, keeping silent. "Wait!" Your arm was yanked backwards. "LET GO!" "No." He growled with a snarl on his face. "You are going to come with me so we can talk. Don't argue because you aren't going anywhere." Shutting your mouth, you start to walk with him, not wanting to be on his bad side. But you can't stop the small tingle you feel in the spot he touched.
He led you to a black car, opened the door, and gently pushed you inside. Once he got in, he started the car and got on the road. "Where are we going?" you managed to get out in a calm voice. Smiling over at you he replied, "Home of course." You had the feeling that it wasn't your house he was talking about.
*Time Skip*
It seemed like you had been in his car for hours, but it was just 30 minutes. Glancing over at him he seemed very content with a light smile on his face. You realize this might be because he finally has what he has waited his whole life for, his mate. Thinking back, you feel bad you just ran away from him and didn't even give him a chance to talk. Looking at his face you think he is very handsome, and you are surprised you didn't notice before. His jawline sharp, light freckles dusting his face, his shapely nose, and he had longer lashes then you did. "I hope you are pleased with how I look." His deep voice scared you out of your daze. Quickly looking away from you stare at the road ahead of you. Out of the corner of your eye you see him look towards you and say "You are so beautiful. So much better than what I imagined my mate to look like." You felt your cheeks heat up as you take a quick glance at him, luckily, he was looking back at the road.
Now going through an internal debate, you realize you don't feel scared anymore. It was almost like your body was relaxing after being with him and not fighting it. Trying to fight off the feelings you can't help but look over at him and say "Why am I feeling like this?" He glanced at you before turning his eyes back on the road. Looking concerned he said "Feeling like what? Are you feeling ill?" Sighing you say "No I don't feel sick but why do I feel comfortable with you? You basically just kidnapped me." You see a small smile making its way on his face, "It is because we are mates, you don't feel it as intensely as I do, since I have better senses than a normal human. But we were destined to be together it's only natural your body is reacting to my pheromones while your brain might be denying it." He suddenly reached a hand over and grabbed your hand. Tingles exploded everywhere just from that touch. You didn't move your hand away, even though you probably should have. Staring at your intertwined hands you couldn't help it, it just felt.... right.
Not even paying attention to the time anymore it takes you a quick second to realize the car stopped. Looking up you make eye contact with Caled. The smile on his face was so sweet you practically felt yourself melting, those dang pheromones. He turned and got out of the car, gently dropping your hand. You can't help but want to hold his hand again, even after everything. He opened the door for you, gently taking your hand again as you got out. As he went to pull his hand back you held on, refusing to let you go. You could see a big smile formed on his face as he looked at your hands.
Looking up you realize how far you must be from the city; you look at the beautiful cabin house, the log details, and the wrap around porch. The forest surrounding you was just as beautiful. Looking to the side of the house there is a small gravel pathway leading into the forest.
"Welcome to my home, well I guess it's ours now."
Looking at him, the sentence and you lightly pull your hand away from his. There is no way you are going to move in with him after just meeting him.... mates or not. A big frown formed on his face when you pulled away and hurt flashed in his eyes.
"I am not moving in with you. We just met! I don't appreciate being pushed into things. I know nothing about you, and you don't know anything about me."
Stepping back from him just a little. You see a change in his eyes, anger, or frustration? You are not completely sure.
Completely ignoring what you said before he continues on.
"My grandparents built this cabin when hybrids were still outcasts. Then it passed to my parents and now me. My parents built their own house further into the forest and decided I could have this house for my mate when I found her. No one knows about it."
Something flashed in his eyes when he said the last sentence. A chill ran down your spine and not a good one. You didn't like the implication of that at all. Your instincts were screaming to run and you couldn't fight your instincts. Not even giving your brain a chance to think, you bolted.
Running straight into the forest you curse yourself for not wearing running shoes to work today. You heard Caleb behind you shouting something, he sounded desperate and wounded. He sounded far enough away you know you surprised him by running. But you knew he would catch up to you eventually and you could hit yourself for not thinking about it before just bolting. There was a pain that you felt in your chest, but your adrenaline stopped the pain. You jumped over rocks and logs not wanting to slow down or trip. You could hear behind you Caleb was gaining on you and fast. Your legs burning you suddenly change routes. You hear a loud curse behind you and knew you shook him off your tail for just a second. That small victory didn't last long as the back of your shirt was yanked. Your back hitting a soft but solid chest.
You were absolutely winded while it seemed like he didn't even break a sweat. Looking at his face you shrink into yourself seeing a furious look. He had a snarl on his face and his eyebrows were furrowed together. You can't help but whimper slightly and you see sadness flash in his eyes just for a second before going back to anger.
"Where do you think you are going." He growled and you couldn't help but flinch at his tone.
"I was being nice and showing you my home, the one you are going to live in with me. I was going be nice and give you a week to stay at your house before moving in but after that stunt you pulled aren't ever going back."
"I'm sorry!" you practically cry out, shaking with fear. Turning around and grappling onto him, crying into his chest.
You couldn't explain it but the moment you ran it felt like your heart got torn out. But now, next to Caleb, the pain stopped.
"Why do I feel like this?!?!" Tears streaming down your face.
"Why do I want to be next to you so bad? Why did it hurt when I ran away!?"
You feel his muscular arms wrap around you and start rubbing your back. He started cooing and telling you it was ok, and he would explain later. His anger completely dissolving as he realized you felt the same pain he felt when you ran. Like someone just stabbed his heart out. Feeling yourself get picked up, you wrap your legs around his waist, stuffing your face in his neck, and wrapping your arms around the back of his head. You felt yourself calm almost instantly after putting your head in his neck. But the tears didn't stop even if you felt better.
"Let's get you back home, then we can clean up and eat something." He spoke so softly you almost wouldn't believe the anger he held in his voice not even 10 minutes ago.
Relaxing into his body you think to yourself, maybe it wouldn't be to bad if you just stayed with him.

broken memories pt. 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3.2k words
-> sequel to kinda tempting
featuring -> mat barzal x female reader x matt rempe
warnings -> mentions of loss of pregnancy/miscarriage
genre -> angst/suggested smut
After you’d posted the official statement to the Rangers socials, a flood of messages began pouring in. Your phone was blowing up to the point you couldn’t keep track. Many of Matt’s teammates had come to find you at the practice facility to offer their condolences, none of them having a clue as Matt never shared the news. Wanting to wait until you felt ready to tell everyone.
Your boss offered for you to head home early, figuring there was a lot on your mind and wanting to give you the afternoon to yourself. Which you didn’t feel was needed, however she insisted on it when you tried to protest.
Upon returning to your apartment, you’d found several floral arrangements had been delivered for you. The front desk of your building had held them all until you’d gotten home, then brought them up for you and left your kitchen island looking like a floral shop.
Looking through the cards you’d felt so much love and gratitude for everyone that had sent them. Despite it having been a little over a month now, you still had days that were harder than others. So now that you’d been able to share the news, and let people in on things, it made the weight on your shoulders a bit less heavy.
As you made it to the last floral arrangement, you’d found a card that was not one you expected to see. It was from Mat. The message leaves you a bit confused as you put it back on its peg in the arrangement. It wasn’t to offer his condolences about the loss, it was rather him reaching out to see if you’d thought any further about the conversation you’d had the other night. Then proceeding to tell you that he loved you, and always would. You weren’t sure whether or not you should throw out the flowers or smash the vase on the floor. The last thing you’d wanted to deal with today was anything other than the fallout of your announcement. Knowing that Matt would soon be coming over and you didn’t want to bother him with the situation.
You opted to place some of the flowers around your apartment, then naturally you pulled out your computer to get some more work done. With the season gearing up you couldn’t afford to fall behind, so you were backlogging content to ensure you’d have plenty of things to post daily. By the time you’d finished editing a few Tik Toks and Instagram Reels, it had been almost three hours. Matt was now walking in the door, his hair still damp from practice as he smiled seeing all the flowers that still sat on the island.
“Wow, did you decide to quit your job and become a florist?”
You smirked at him as you put your laptop away, walking over to give him a hug and a kiss before you started on dinner.
“Yeah, there’s honestly this one player on the team I can’t stand, Rempe is his name. Not sure if you know him? So I decided to just quit and work with flowers.”
He laughed as he looked at each of the arrangements, glancing at the messages of condolences and support from so many people.
“How are you feeling? My phone has been blowing up, kind of shocked to see how many people were reaching out. And people who have gone through similar things you know?”
You nodded as you prepped a pan for some chicken, then searched the cupboard for all the necessary spices.
“It is nice to feel like we aren’t alone. I honestly was a bit overwhelmed by it all. But I was really touched by the love and support everyone is showing for us. And for all the flowers, like holy shit!”
Both of you laughed as Matt went back to the flowers, smelling them and inspecting the different ones he’d never seen before.
“Y/n, what’s this?”
You glanced back at him as you finished setting the chicken into the pan. Squinting a bit as he held up one of the cards, unable to see anything that was written on it. Shrugging your shoulders as you didn’t want to state the obvious, but you weren’t sure what to tell him.
“A note?”
“From Barzal? You can’t be serious?”
You dropped your fork on the counter as you quickly tried to protest, wishing you would’ve tossed the card in the trash but it had clearly slipped your mind.
“Matt, listen. Let me explain, because it’s not what you think.”
“Hope you had a chance to think over our conversation from the other night. It’s always been you, I love you so much. I always will. Are you fucking kidding? Why am I never going to be good enough for you? Here I thought I’d finally been chosen by you, and he’s right there in the background trying to steal you away again. I’m always going to be second to him aren’t I?”
You watched Matt as he paced the floor, soon slumping onto the couch as his head rested in his hands. His body held tight to itself as he shook his head. His mind raced as he tried to make sense of it all.
You hated hearing him speak so negatively about himself, especially when none of the things he was saying were true. You were in no way putting him second or choosing anyone over him, but you could see how the note made him feel that way. And no matter what you said or how hard you tried to explain, you knew he wouldn’t believe you right now. These feelings clearly still present for him despite the fact you two had begun rebuilding things.
“Matt, please. If you just let me explain, you’ll understand that is not what’s happening.”
Matt pushed away your touch, pacing the floor as he tried to decide whether or not it was worth opening up about this. Despite the two of you working on starting over, his insecurities about not being good enough would always remain.
“Look, I get it. The way things began with us, wasn’t normal or how it should have happened. And certainly you getting pregnant wasn’t planned. But my feelings for you have never wavered, and I wake up everyday knowing that it’s you. Not because of a baby, not because of anything other than I want to be with you. Despite everything, it’s only you y/n. And the fact that he is still in the background, trying to be with you, I can’t win!”
Matt grabbed the flowers from the vase Mat sent you, tossing them to the ground as he needed to channel his frustrations somehow.
“Yeah I’m jealous. Sure I’m insecure. Because I’m never first choice, I never have been okay? So I’m sorry that for once I thought I was good enough to be someone’s first choice. And if you don’t feel that way, then why did we bother starting over?”
You were speechless, tears in your eyes seeing how upset he was. Not knowing that he still felt like there was even a chance you would leave him for Barzal. To know he had always felt like the second choice, or that he wasn’t worthy of being with you, it broke your heart. And before you could respond, he was grabbing his things to head for the door.
“Matt, wait please!”
But he was gone without another word, leaving you to regret not having just simply thrown out the note from Mat. You headed back to the kitchen, tending to the food on the stove that was close to overcooking. Though now your appetite has come and gone, simply packing up the food before retreating to your bedroom for the night.
-
You weren’t sure how much time had passed, maybe an hour or two, but you were jolted awake by the sound of knocking at your door. Checking the time, you questioned who would be there at almost midnight. Surely it wasn’t Matt, he had a key.
Slowly making your way to the door, you were shocked to see Mat Barzal on the other side. Reluctant to open the door you hesitated, questioning whether this was a good idea. Especially after the fight you’d just had with Matt over the note, you didn’t want any more drama to stem from Barzal stopping by.
Though curiosity got the best of you, and you’d unlocked the door, slowly opening it to see Mat standing there with a relieved smile on his face.
“Hey, I wasn’t sure you’d come to the door. Can I come in?”
Nodding your head you moved to the side, letting him in as he scanned the tens of flower arrangements on your counter.
“Wow, my flowers must not have seemed as meaningful to you today huh?”
His sarcastic tone caught you off guard as he almost seemed annoyed, clearly he hadn’t seen your post today or else he’d understand.
“Yeah, sorry I lost a baby and now your flowers don’t mean as much as the ones sent with condolences Mat.”
He looked to you confused, then realizing you must have finally made a statement, immediately cursing himself for being such an ass and making it about him once again.
“I’m sorry, truly. That wasn’t right to say. Of course these flowers were more meaningful to you right now.”
His eyes scanned the arrangements before finding a bundle of flowers on the floor, his heart sinking as he realized they were the ones he’d picked out.
“But it seems like you didn’t like them regardless.”
A soft chuckle left his lips as he bent down to pick them up, tossing them in the garbage as you could feel your frustration building by the second. Still unsure why he’d come all the way to your apartment if it were just to cause issues.
“Why are you here Barzal? If it’s to be an asshole then leave. It’s not the day for this.”
He was a bit caught off guard by you calling him by his last name, something you only did when you were angry with him.
“You didn’t text or call, I wanted to see if you’d gotten the flowers and my message.”
“Oh I got it, and your flowers ruined everything. So thank you so much, I love them!”
You crossed your arms over your chest as you looked to him for anything further, but he was unsure what to say. Not expecting to come here and argue. In his mind he’d planned on you telling him you thought about everything and wanted him back. Because that’s how Mat’s brain worked, that he was number one always. Everyone always picked him, folded for him and gave in. But he could see that wasn’t the case with you anymore.
“Where is this coming from? Don’t tell me you’re actually picking him? Did our relationship mean nothing to you? I broke off my engagement for you y/n! It’s always been you for me, and this is how you treat me?”
“I didn’t ask you to do that! You did that all by yourself. And no, the cheating on me meant everything to me. It ruined me. It pushed me away and I’m sorry but whether I did the same thing back to you, I will never look at you the same. I’ll never choose you. I can’t.”
Mat’s mind was racing, he couldn’t fathom you not choosing him. To be turned down by the girl he thought he could always run back to, it was a deep cut to his ego.
“Because you two were going to have a baby? After a one night stand? You just throw everything we had away for Rempe? I don’t understand how you could pick him over me y/n!”
“Because I love him!”
The words hadn’t even registered in your mind before you spoke them, catching yourself off guard as much as you’d caught Mat in the same position.
“Oh really? You love him?”
Mat took a step closer to you, his eyes scanning your face to try and read your thoughts. Not thinking as he acted on his impulse, his hand moving to cup your cheek as he crashed his lips to yours. Your hands immediately came up in protest, pushing against his chest to get him away from you. Followed by your hand striking him across the cheek, letting him know you were serious.
“Yes, I love him. With my whole fucking heart. I am choosing him, and I will continue to choose him every single day from now on. Because he isn’t going to treat me like you did. He’s selfless, kind, loving, understanding. He doesn’t expect me to melt at his feet and fold for him like you do. He feels like the luckiest man every single day to have me by his side. Something you took for granted the day you chose to cheat on me. So yes, I love him. And it’s always going to be him. Now get the fuck out.”
Without another word Mat headed for the door, speechless as he took one last look at you before you’d shut and locked the door behind him. Retreating back to your bedroom, checking your phone for a text or call from Matt, but nothing. You could feel the tears welling in your eyes at the thought of losing him for good this time, after finally realizing how much he truly meant to you. Not bothering with it being almost one in the morning, you typed out a quick text before plugging your phone in.
I know you probably hate me, I’m sorry. But I promise, I will always choose you. I love you.
-
The sound of your apartment door unlocking startled you, but you’d quickly calmed down as you knew it could only be Matt. Your heart skipping a beat as you were relieved he’d come back, telling you that he wasn’t too mad to stay away. Soon enough his tall frame was in the doorway of your bedroom, his silhouette illuminated by the moonlight that was shining through your window. His chest was rising and falling quickly, likely due to the fact he’d sprinted upstairs from the parking garage.
“Did you mean it?”
His voice was soft as he slowly made his way over to you, seeing that your eyes were beginning to fill with tears. Your emotions getting the best of you as you were happy to know he’d come back, his words not registering in your brain.
“What?”
He sat on the bed next to you, taking your hand in his as his thumb slowly brushed over the skin.
“Your text, did you mean it?”
All you could do was nod your head, Matt inching closer to you as his hand made its way to your cheek. His touch sent chills down your spine as his lips now hovered over yours, teasing you ever so slightly as his eyes held contact with yours.
Before you could apologize again for earlier, his lips crash onto yours. His hand tangled into your hair as the other pulled you into his lap. The two of you fought one another for control as Matt moved so his back was resting against the headboard. A smirk on his lips as he could sense how eager you were for his touch, your text message still vivid in his mind. The idea that you’d chosen him, that you only wanted him, it excited him in the moment even more.
His hands held your hips as he grinded you down against him, not embarrassed about the growing erection that was beneath his sweatpants. A smile on your lips as you let out a soft giggle at the feeling, though you loved knowing he was turned on by you. His hands roaming your body before pulling your lips back to his. The kiss now more intense than before, his tongue slipping past your lip as he took control, but did his best to keep things soft.
This wasn’t about getting right to sex in his mind, it was about taking his time to savor the first fuck after you confessed your love for him. And he couldn’t wait to hear the words fall from your lips. He knew the moment you’d said the words to him, he would be like putty in your hands.
“Can I hear you say it? Please?”
He voice was breathy as he smile at you, his hands moving to play with the hem of your oversized tshirt that had now rode up on your thighs. Exposing your skin to him as your ass slightly peeked out from under the fabric, resting firmly in his lap against his cock that was painfully needing its escape from his sweats.
You smiled down at him, brushing his hair from his face as your fingers traced his features. Your thumb brushing over his bottom lip before stealing a kiss, your hands resting at the back of his neck as you looked down at him.
“I love you Matthew Rempe. So fucking much. Today, tomorrow, and the next day after that. It’s you, I choose you. And no one else.”
Without warning he quickly flipped you over, now hovering over you as he laughed at the small shriek you’d let out at his action. His hips grinding into you as his lips kissed from yours down to your neck, pulling up your shirt to kiss down your chest until he reached the string of your thong.
Looking up at you his smile faded, a more serious look on his face as he hooked his fingers under the string of your thongs. Slowly pulling in down your legs and tossing it to the side, his sweats soon followed suit before he’d found his place above you again.
Your hand slipping between the two of you to help guide his cock to your slit, the two of your letting out a soft moan as he’d slowly thrusted into you.
“Fuck, Matt.”
Gripping his biceps he’d waited for you to adjust to him, his thrusts slowly starting as he felt you ease up on your grip. Your legs instinctually wrapping around his waist to pull him closer, his arms now resting on either side of your head as his lips met yours, swallowing your moans as he’d begun to pick up his pace.
Fingers tangling in his hair as his lips moved to your neck, kissing and biting at your skin as he could feel your pussy clenching around him, letting him know you were slowly reaching your peak. But he didn’t want this to end so quickly, needing to take his time and be sure to love every inch of you. To show you how much he loved you and needed you. His thrusts ceased as he brushed your hair from your face, his thumb brushing over the skin of your cheek as he smiled down at you.
“You make me the happiest man in the world. And I promise to never make you regret choosing me. I love you so much.”

LOVE IS CONCOCTED FROM ESTERS AND KETONES- CH. 00: PROLOGUE

NOTES: I hope this chapter gives you an idea of the setting and what's to come!

Somewhere within the heart of the universe lies a perfumery on an unremarkable planet, its simplicity belittling its fame. From its exterior, it looks like any other shop on the street. Simple, with a cute sign and clean exterior. They’re closed on Mondays but for the rest of the week, they open at ten am on the weekdays and close at six pm with extended hours on the weekends.
The inside, however, tells a different story. It’s far more spacious than the outside would lead one to believe. The poor, overworked air purifiers can be heard running 24/7 to prevent the air from becoming suffocating. The shelves go as far back as the eye can see and are stocked with bottles of different colors, sizes, and designs- each of them hefty and works of art in their own right. Each of them have different scent profiles and all of them are handcrafted by the enigmatic owner who formulates and tests each scent in the lab located behind the shop.
… The test subjects just happen to be the two shop assistants who are more than happy to be their boss’ guinea pigs.
The shop itself is split into three sections- male, female, and unisex. Perfumes are arranged based on the fragrance family- fresh, floral, woodsy- before being further arranged by notes- green, fruity, gourmand- since people often walk in wanting to smell like a specific note, which the owner and shop assistants are happy to work with. However, there’s a rumor that you’ll get the best results when you come in with an idea, a concept, in mind.
“I want to smell like worn, old, musty jewelry that’s probably tangled.” There’s a scent for that.
“Do you have anything that smells like a day at the fair as a kid?” Yes, there is.
“How about a warm rock?” Second display case in the unisex section, fifth shelf down, third bottle from the left, the green one.
There’s also the option to get a custom-made fragrance, although it’ll carry a heftier price tag than the already-pricy wares. But for many, it’s a small price to pay for something that’s uniquely personal to them.
All of this has led to celebrities, politicians, and other rich and famous people from across the galaxy to flock to this store, which has been the biggest reason for the store’s meteoric rise to fame. It started off as the name being shared among circles and it gradually rippled out from there until it reached the level of renown it has today. Celebrities often quote a bottle from the store as their signature and/or favorite scent in interviews and the paparazzi always snap a bunch of photos whenever a particularly high-profile person leaves the store with a bag in hand.
Rumor has it that the advertising benefits for the shop are top-tier too, which is why they practically jump at the chance to promote the newest scents.
But while the shop’s fame is undeniable, there isn’t much known about the owner. They’ve dodged the media’s questions ever since the shop’s popularity exploded and even the two assistants don’t know much besides what’s publicly available. It seems as if they intend for things to stay that way as well.
Not only do you want to keep your secrets close, but you also want to preserve that sense of monotony that comes with running a business for as long you have. Wake up, get ready, open the store for business, and handle the various customers that come into the shop until closing.
But unbeknownst to you, there’s a wave of new customers coming, each with their peculiarities that you’ve never quite had to deal with before, and they’re interested in more than just your wares.
Keeping your inventory stocked and your heart guarded is your modus operandi for running your business. But between running your business, staying on top of orders, and dealing with these new customers… this may be a difficult task to follow for the foreseeable future.

I’ll Assist You || ceo!keys x assistant
Tumblr media
Summary: After his mind is plagued by his sweet assistant, Keys is struggling to concentrate on his work. Surprisingly he finds that she’s ready assist him with his troubles, in any way.
Content warnings: oral (m & f receiving), p in v sex, dom!Keys, sub!assistant, use of sir, slight degradation, sex at work, spit play, light facefucking, male masturbation (i think that’s it?)
Word count: 4.9k
Based on:
“Now, where you see this graph? This is where the data displays engagement. We rose up on launch day - of course - and - and, uh -“ Keys stopped mid-sentence, looking at the young girl that had scrambled through the glass doors, a stack of coffees carefully balanced on one arm, and a notepad and laptop tucked under her other. She was often on time, but today was different.
While Keys couldn’t figure out what had held her back fifteen minutes of the team meeting, his mind was busy. Suddenly occupied with the smooth curves of her exposed shoulders and the slight peek of chest she didn’t usually show. Her face as soft and beautiful as ever was glowing, a summer hue on her cheeks as she handed out the coffees hurriedly.
“I’m so sorry, Mr Mckey, the lines at the coffee shop were horrific.” She explained sweetly, placing his coffee in front of him and settled with her laptop on the chair next to his. Key’s suddenly couldn’t find any words as he waved his hands in a ‘no worries’ gesture.
“So, uh, the dip - this um, this dip line here is where our blue shirt glitch happened, the uh -“ He stuttered as he watched his assistant chew on the end of her pen, her eyes bright as they looked up at him with deep engagement. He couldn’t hear anything, think about anything let alone take his eyes off her lips until he saw them moving.
“Sorry?” Keys spoke suddenly, startling her. Hushed whispers sounded through the conference room as concern grew for his behaviour.
“I said, are you feeling okay? You don’t seem well. I can send everyone out if you need space, sir.” She spoke kindly, quiet so as not to embarrass her boss. She was thoughtful, gentle with her tone as genuine worry flashed behind her eyes.
“Yeah, I, uh - yeah can you take over? Excuse me everybody.” Walter spoke lowly, nodding his head towards everyone in the conference room as his assistant nodded and stood. As he grabbed his coffee and his bag, her body slid past his slowly. He could almost feel her heartbeat against his chest as his eyes dropped to the line of cleavage in front of him. He felt like a teenage boy, stuffed to the brim with hormones as he looked back up at her face; her eyes had a twinkle to them he hadn’t seen before.
The whole interaction was less than 10 seconds, but it had replayed on his mind all afternoon, his jeans tighter than usual as his brain displayed the image of that silly little glint in her irises. He was thankful for his new desk, the thick mahogany concealing any arousal and any twitch of his aching cock trapped underneath it. Every time her sweet voice sounded through his office phone, reminding him of another meeting, he could feel his cheeks burning; his face warm and pink. What the fuck was happening to him?
He’d called in sick. The week off. He couldn’t take it, the summer heat burning such rays down on the office that his pretty assistant walked in a different dress every day. Slip dresses, floral sundresses, high waisted skirts and low cut tank tops. He couldn’t take the ache of having to tear his eyes away from her body, the constant drinking of water because his throat got dry every time she looked at him when he tried to present statistics to his team; he’d end up in the bathroom from not only over-hydration, but the dire need to palm at his cock in attempts to get it to calm the fuck down so he could work.
So he took time off, sitting on his couch at home and tugging desperately at his cock, watching videos of corny scenarios in which some unqualified guy bent his unsuspecting secretary over a flimsy desk. The first few times, he tried to find videos of women that looked nothing like her. Dollar Tree glasses on the bridge of their noses as they put on a painfully pitchy seductive voice and got on their knees waiting. It got him over the edge, spilling precariously over his fist and often times the coffee table in front of him.
But then came Sunday night. The night before he was due to go back into the office, and his heart kept palpitating at the thought of seeing her again. The thought of her eyes, the way they twinkled with something he couldn’t quite place had his imagination running wild. And so came the usual routine, scrolling through his phone for the perfect video to get off to. But something hit different, his heart beating a million miles an hour as a video popped up as a recommendation.
‘Innocent secretary cums hard on her boss’ desk’. Vanilla title but the thumbnail is what sent voltage to Walter’s cock. A pretty girl looking exactly like his assistant, bar the different coloured eyes and heavy glam makeup, laid back against a desk with her boss’ head between her legs and a pretty floral dress bunched up around her waist. He felt guilt creeping up his spine immediately for how quickly he freed his cock from his pants, the speed at which his thumb clicked the video but he couldn’t stop.
“Mhm, cum all over his tongue like that.” Keys mumbled lowly, his bottom lip tugged between his teeth as his fingers wrapped around his throbbing shaft, stroking so fast he almost couldn’t keep up with himself. After pottering around her boss for a good portion of the video, tending to his every need, the girl in the video was about to come, her hips squirming as her ‘boss’ looked up at her determined to make her a sopping mess. God, what he would give to do that to his naive assistant. Have her writhing against his tongue as he lapped up any drop of arousal she’d give him. He couldn’t even fathom an inch of guilt now, too close to exploding all over his stomach at thought of the taboo relationship he’d formed in his head.
He slept peacefully, until his alarm woke him up at 7, reminding him of who he had to face and the events the night before. Sitting up and unlocking his phone, he closed all his internet tabs and erased his history; taking a cold shower to clear his mind and his conscience. He headed into the office, feeling confident about his day back.
That was until she walked in. White and blue floral dress. Just like the girl in the video. His eyes almost popped out of his head, as his laptop slipped from his hands and clattered to the floor. Her head turned towards the sound, eyes widening as she ran over to help him, dropping to her knees in front of him.
“Are you okay, sir?” She asked breathlessly, as she checked his laptop was okay before passing it up to him. Her eyes bright as usual as she didn’t move from the floor. Walter could barely move, his head too busy with a mixture of attempted professionalism, forming words and the pornographic moans of the girl from the video as he looked down at his assistant. He just nodded as he grabbed his laptop and headed into his office, trying hopelessly to blink away this new image of her. She followed him into his office, concern crossing her face.
“Thank you, that’ll be all, really I’m fine. Can you check what presen-“
“Mr Mckey, what is going on? Have I upset you in some way?” Her voice was gentle as always, as she stood in front of his desk, ignoring his heavy sighs and his face buried in his hands. He couldn’t outright tell her that his presentations had been failing, his mind had been racing, his cock had been fucking leaking at the sheer sight of her walking through the office. She’d go straight to HR. But he wished he could say it. Wished he could tell her how much he wanted to bury his tongue -
“Please, sir. I want to help you. Let me help you.” She spoke again. He’d heard that line somewhere before. The tone, his assistant had perfectly matched the whine. The porn video. No, that would be ridiculous. Unless she was crouched behind his couch last night, she’d have no idea. He dropped his hands away from his face, looking up at her confused.
“What did you say?” Walter spoke, wanting her to repeat herself in case his aroused mind had made it up. But he had it confirmed.
She slunk around his desk, sitting on the edge of it with the same concerned yet kind look on her face. Her eyes boring into his with that glint, yet gentleness that he couldn’t stop thinking about. What was happening? Had he not woken up yet?
“I said, please let me help you. Sir.” She whispered, her hand coming to rest on top of his against the desk. Walter shot up, standing in front of her as he shoved his hands into his pockets; distancing the contact between them.
“Were you in my house last night?” Walter accused, his tone a little angry as he became paranoid. His assistants face changed into surprise, shock across it as she shook her head defensively. Walter’s softened as he regretted the tone he used with her.
“I - I’m sorry - I didn’t mean to - fuck - I’m really sorry -“ He apologised, though stopped in his tracks as her expression changed suddenly.
“Mr McKey, I did something bad. I should be saying sorry.” She mumbled softly, her eyebrows frowned with regret but her lips curled up at both ends. Walter was confused, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose as they fell with the furrowing of his eyebrows.
“What - what is going on? What did you do?” He stuttered out, trying not to focus on the way her legs were slightly spread on his desk.
“I…got worried about you. You were off. Acting weird. Especially in meetings and stats presentations and then you slumped off for a week - no communication and -“ She rambled nervously, waving her hands as she spoke. Walter was growing more and more anxious, slamming a hand down on his desk. She flinched ever so lightly but it was met with a tiny smirk.
“What did you do? Tell me now.” Walter spoke with a harsher tone, not meaning to be intimidating but was quickly getting tired of the dragged out responses he was getting.
“I want to be the girl in the video, Mr McKey.”
Walter felt like he was about to pass out, the room spinning slightly as his heart started to pick up again. There was no way this was real. He was still dreaming, the post-orgasm sleep hitting him differently.
“I don’t - I have literally - just no idea what you’re talking about.” Walter scoffed, running his hands through his hair. His eyes darted over to the window of his office, looking out to see if anyone could somehow see into his mind.
His assistant stood up, fiddling with the tie at the chest of her dress, smiling unfazed by Keys’ clear distress. This silly pining and feigned ignorance wouldn’t go on anymore. Walking towards the door, she ignored his questioning of her actions as she locked it, rolling the blinds down. The other members of staff would just suspect they had a meeting, nothing more. As she turned back around, leaning back against the door, she wondered if this was the right thing to do; her body essentially throbbing with the carnal need she’d developed since the day Walter had hired her.
“I wanted this job because I was underestimated everywhere else. Not only that but the way you stood up to Antwan Hovachelik? Dude was an asshole. You deserve to be here, to be owner of your creation. I admire you, so much. So when you got all weird and seemed unwell, I wanted to check in on you.” She spoke, walking slowly towards Keys’ desk again. He cleared his throat as it began to dry as it instinctively did whenever she looked or spoke to him. Her demeanour had changed slightly, a confidence in her walk that wasn’t there before.
“You - yeah - thank you. I, uh, I took time off to clear my head, that’s all.” Walter muttered, his eyes looking around the room; anywhere but at the sultry gaze she was throwing towards him. He couldn’t believe the way he was caving, he was stuttering, nervous by her.
“I know what’s going on.”
“Do you?” Keys chuckled with a scoff, believing he still had the high ground here.
“You watched porn with a video of a girl who looked similarly like me. I’m guessing it made you come, seeing her submit to her boss like that.” His assistant spoke boldly and bluntly, but with a sickeningly innocent tone to her voice as he almost choked on his own tongue.
“And how the fuck would you know something like that? You’re being - this is highly unprofessional.” Keys spluttered, taking off his glasses and throwing them on his desk.
“Because I hacked into your phone. Before I explain why, I want to apologise first and foremost for in the invasion of privacy. I was truly worried. I was going to see if you’d emailed anyone and explained why you were off, what was going on. But then it flashed up on my screen. Like a screen sharing app if you will.”
Keys’ mouth opened and closed with no sound coming out, his knees feeling heavy as he sat down in his office chair. He was filled with guilt, anxiety, shame but most of all, his cock was aching more than ever.
“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to deduce what was happening then. Seeing her look like me, wearing clothes similar to how I dress? Bar the fact my eyeballs would fall out if I put that much makeup on them, it was a little too familiar right? Getting fucked by her boss? The taboo, the risk of it all?” She kept going, slowly making her way around the desk again and sitting back in the spot right next to his chair.
Keys sighed heavily, leaning back in his chair and looking up at her finally. He knew now, that this wasn’t a one-way street. It wasn’t as perverted as he thought, because she wanted it too. He could tell by the way the glint returned to her irises as they fell upon the strained outline of his cock in his jeans.
“Aren’t you clever? Such a smart girl after all.” Keys muttered, folding his hands over his lap. “Invading my privacy is worthy of a call to my lawyer.”
Her eyes looked away from his groin for just a moment, fear flashing through them.
“Your concern means a lot however.”
“I really just wanted to- to make sure you were okay, to check in. I didn’t think I’d confirm my own fantasies, nor did I think you’d share the same ones.” She stuttered, and Keys rose an eyebrow and smirked before standing up, between her legs this time; his knee nudging one of hers open slightly.
“No. You just thought you could walk around with your pretty dresses, and your little tank tops, and these stupid fucking eyes and think I’m not going to want you? Then you hack into my personal life and think you’re gonna get off scot-free?” Keys spoke firmer this time, a hint of anger in his voice but it was a facade for the hot arousal coursing through his veins. She was looking up at him with the same innocent look she always did.
“What’re you going to do about it, sir?” She whispered back, hop-skip and jumping over the work boundary they were supposed to have. Walter’s eyes flitted over her face, to her lips, the curve of her cheeks and back to her eyes again before he finally gave in.
Smashing his lips against hers, it was messy. Almost painful the way their mouths rolled against one another, carnal need for each other finally being released. His hands travelled up her sides, one tangling in her hair as he held her mouth to his, the other finding the hem of her dress and bunching it up in his fist.
“Please.” The angelic tone of her voice rang through his ears, echoing and swimming through his bloodstream straight to the head of his cock.
“Just once. This one time and we forget it happened.” She carried on, begging with her eyes as her hands found his belt buckle; unfastening it and pulling the zipper apart wantonly.
Keys nodded, his hand tugging at her hair so her head tilted back. His lips sucked at her neck, careful in marking so the entire office didn’t know he’d fucked his assistant. He let her fumble with the hem of his underwear, while his hands got busy hiking her dress up around her waist. He’d dreamed of this, watched porn of this. And now here she was, with her legs spread against his mahogany and her fingers - oh - her fingers wrapping around his cock.
“I want to be that girl, Mr McKey. Want you to make me yours, even if it’s just this once okay?” She whispered softly and sweetly, her tone mimicking the one that had made him come hard maybe a mere 12 hours before. She stroked him slowly, her thumb swiping over his slit and spreading the copious amounts of pre-come he’d produced at the sight of her.
“You want me to take you on this desk? You liked that video too, didn’t you?” Keys spoke with a hint of condescension, his hips bucking slightly into her touch. He watched as she bit her lip and nodded, bringing her other hand to his cock and using both to stroke him.
“Mhm. Odds are we came at the same time.” She spoke softly, smiling sweetly up at him. Keys almost came there and then, his mind pulsating with the thought of her touching herself to the same video, at the same time.
“Tell me. Tell me what made you come. Was it his tongue? Was it the way he held her head as he fucked her throat? What was it?” Keys mumbled desperately, his hands sliding along the insides of her thighs, pushing them apart as a string of her own arousal stuck between them. He moaned aloud, letting two fingers gather the stickiness along the cotton gusset of her panties.
“Yeah - how - he - fuck, sir, please -“
“Tell me and I’ll make you come just as hard. Use your words.” Keys spoke again, looking up into her eyes this time as he awaited her answer, joining his two fingertips in the side of her panties and pulling them against her thigh. His mouth watered at the sight of her wet cunt, glistening on his desk like a fresh meal.
“How he held her face, you know - made her look at him? When she was coming? And then - fuck -“ Keys slid his fingers inside her, her wetness allowing him in with ease as she moaned sweetly; her eyes fluttering shut as her grip on his cock tightened and stilled for a moment.
“And then what?” Keys continued taunting her, copying her hands and stilling his fingers inside her; though his fingertips were angled upwards against the spongy spot that had her chest falling and rising faster.
“And then he spat.”
“All her mess right back into her mouth. Put her in her place, didn’t he?” Keys whispered, his spare hand leaving her hair and gripping her jaw softly. She nodded up at him, finally clicking into the dynamic Keys had manifested subconsciously. He’d never thought he’d be capable of controlling somebody’s arousal like this, but she was so needy, so pliable. Assisting him, like she’d been hired to do.
“Can I make you come?” Keys asked politely, though there was a slight growl in his voice, the desperation to feel her squeeze down around his fingers almost painful.
“Yes. Please.” She groaned, bucking her hips down onto his fingers. He smiled against her lips, grinding his fingers back into her with a deepening intensity, his other hand keeping a tight grip on her jaw. He wanted to watch her climb that peak, dance on the edge of pleasure. Her sounds were heavenly, but already her pleasured expression was more beautiful than he could ever have imagined.
“I’m close, sir. You’re making me so close.” She whimpered, her hands finally letting go of his cock as she braced herself on the edge of his desk with one and pulled his face closer to hers again with the other. He kissed her messily before pulling his fingers out of her; chuckling lightly at her whine.
Tutting at her teasingly, he pushed her shoulders back so she fell onto her elbows, her eyes widening as she realised what was happening.
“Remind me. Who works for who?” Keys spoke softly, tucking his heel into the leg of his office chair and dragging it closer so he could sit. He pressed kisses to her knees as he pulled them upwards, her heels kicked off as she balanced her feet on the arms of his chair.
“I work for you, sir. I’m yours.” She moaned innocently, eyes threatening to roll back as he pulled her hips closer to the edge of the desk, pulling her panties off entirely and diving straight back into her cunt like a man starved. He didn’t let up, not until she was squirming and writhing on his desk like the girl in the video they’d both watched.
“Mhm. And you’re gonna listen to me and come when I tell you to?” Keys mumbled against her clit, sucking it into his mouth as he looked up at her and waited for the answer. Her eyes squeezed shut now as she tried to pinch off the impending orgasm that was waiting, pulsating inside her. Her boss was eating her pussy on his office desk, quoting the exact video that had got them both off before. She could barely hold it off as she replied.
“Yes sir, I promise I’ll be good. Anything to make you fucking happy ohmygod -“ She rambled messily, as his fingers found their way back inside her; pumping rhythmically at the same time as his tongue against her clit. She wasn’t entirely sure of the promise she’d made, only that she wanted to impress him just as much as she wanted to come on his tongue.
“You can come. Can tell you’re being good already, squeezing my fingers so tight they could break. Make it messy, okay?” Keys moaned, his eyes closing in pleasure as one of her hands came to grip the hair at the front of his head, pulling him in closer somehow.
He was entirely entranced with the taste of her, sweet bitterness on his tongue as he waited for her to tipple over that edge. Her breathing was getting faster, her walls clenching sporadically around his fingers.
“Tell me. Tell me when you’re coming.” Keys mumbled against her skin, tongue rolling over her clit as he sucked it in between his lips again.
“I’m coming sir please, please don’t stop -“ Her whines were making his cock jump up against his stomach as he put everything into pulling her through the waves of ecstasy. Her spasms around his fingers could be felt on his chin as his eyes rolled back into his head, not letting up until she fell back fully on his desk; her calves coming to rest down on his shoulders.
When he finally had the willpower to pull away, leaving gentle kisses to the creases of her hips and thighs, he stood up. His knees felt weak, power and arousal weighing him down as he planted his palms on the desk either side of her.
“You need to be way quieter, you understand me? Whining and whimpering like that? Do you want to get caught with your dress up around your waist?” Keys taunted, dominance rushing through his veins. He was shocked at himself, but the way she responded so eagerly to him pushed the doubt to the side.
“No, sir. I’ll be quiet, I promise.” She whispered, reaching for his cock and holding the head of it against her clit. Keys’ hips stuttered for a moment at the contact, her warmth coating him for a second as he became impatient and pushed inside her. He gripped her jaw again, making her look into his eyes as he watched her feel the stretch. She pulled him in so easily, but she was so compressed around him. So much so, he felt like he couldn’t breathe, but would he stop? Never.
“Sir?” She spoke softly, her jaw opening as he rocked into her carefully. He hummed in response, looking down at how his cock disappeared inside her, before pulling out and moaning at the glisten covering his shaft.
“Can you -“ She whispered shyly, as he looked up at her. She was holding her tongue out, just like the girl in the video. He knew what she wanted. He leaned over her with a smile, their eyes glinting towards each other as he spat directly into her mouth. He felt his cock throbbing inside her as she swallowed him down before kissing him hungrily.
“Can’t fucking take this anymore. You’re too pretty.” Keys rambled, his hand settling on her lower back as he rutted into her quickly. She bit down on her lip, eyelids locked shut tight as she tried to hold back the moans firing from her throat. Her hands fisted at his shirt as he pounded into her with a ferocity he didn’t even know he had in him.
“You’re gonna make me come. You feel too good - I can’t -“ Keys let the dynamic shift as she blinked her eyes open, smirking at him. The way he yearned for her with his body, the way he couldn’t control himself anymore sent a power surge up her spine.
She pushed him away, jumping off the desk and kneeling before him before he had any time to complain about the lack of constriction around his cock. He scoffed in disbelief, fingers immediately tangling in her hair and pulling her mouth onto his length messily.
“Can’t believe this. You on your knees, mouth stuffed full of me. God, you’d do anything for me wouldn’t you?” Keys rambled as he thrust his cock into her throat over and over. She nodded as best she could, sweet little whimpers sounding around his shaft as she let her throat go lax to allow him the speed and depth he needed.
It wasn’t long before his balls were drawing up, threatening to spill into her throat. One look down at her teary eyes, her pretty dress crumpled and her lips tucked around him and he was gone.
Fingers matted into her hair as he held her down on him, cum spilling in pools at the base of her tongue as he tried to groan quietly.
She pulled off after a moment, taking the time to not only swallow his spend, but look up at him with the most sated look Keys had ever seen. She smiled, getting up and fixing her dress before seating herself on the edge of his desk again. Walter stood shocked with his softening cock still out of his pants, running a hand through his own hair as he caught his breath.
“You’re…that was…insanity.” He breathed heavily, tucking himself away and sinking into his office chair. He felt exhausted, but in the best way; eyes looking from her ankles all the way up to her eyes as she seemed not just content but back to her usual self.
“Is there anything else I can do to help you?” She said smoothly, her sweet smile now tainted by Keys’ image of her with his cock between his lips.
“No, you uh, I don’t need anything else.” Keys said almost coldly, trying to process what had just happened and whether or not they should have done it. She nudged his calf with her foot, getting him to look up at her as she smiled.
“Nothing happened, remember? One-off. We both feel better now.” His assistant spoke kindly, leaning her feet down to slide into her heels again as she stood and fixed herself one last time. Picking up some stats sheets that had been pushed to the floor, she corrected them into a pile on Keys’ desk, moving and opening his laptop and putting it in front of him while he just watched with widened eyes at the shift in the room.
“Yeah. Really got it out of our systems-“ Keys was interrupted by a harsh knock at his office door, his heart palpitating at the thought of it being someone that found out about their lustful interaction.
“Oh! That’ll be your 11 o’clock. He’s here about your deputy position.” She spoke softly, pulling up his blinds and unlocking the door.
Walter fell back into his own usual self, clearing his throat and putting his glasses back on, tucking his shirt back into his jeans and trying to shake the last 30 minutes out of his head.
“Thank you.” He said gently, double meaning as he smiled back at her before letting her welcome in the interviewee. As she walked over to the coffee machine opposite his office, he sighed. That hadn’t helped at all. He definitely couldn’t stop thinking about her now.

— when you want him to be your valentine
Tumblr media
Masterlist.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I hope you enjoy this one🥺💕
Warnings: A tiny bit angsty, not proofread.
Pairing: Bakugou Katsuki x f!reader.
Word Count: 1.3k.
Tumblr media
Bakugou despised this time of year. The lull after Christmas was slowly going back to normal, the weather still offered a bitter chill that had him donning his winter costume even though the evenings became a little brighter, and the worst thing about all of it— Valentines Day.
It wasn’t enough that this gave the media an excuse to question him about his love life, like it was important anyway. He’s a Pro-Hero for fucks sake, it’s none of their damn business that he’s still single and hopelessly in love with you. But it also meant the fake consumer bullshit that came along with the holiday was staring him in the face anywhere he went. Shop fascias covered in a wild array of pinks and reds, embarrassingly big teddy bears placed in the windows, and tacky gifts everywhere he looked in Musutafu. Even arcades were following through on the hype— pink gifts sat in the crane games waiting to be won, figures of different Pro-Heroes painted a bright red in commemoration of the holiday— Although, Bakugou couldn’t deny he’d be trying to win that red All Might figure on one of his days off.
But the worst thing about Valentine’s Day? The thing he despised more than anything else.
Is the fact that you’ve made him want to celebrate it.
You made it into the office a little earlier today. Whether it was the nerves that had you waking up before your alarm, or the excitement of the holiday you weren’t sure. Waving at the security at the entrance of Dynamight’s Agency as you made your way towards the elevators.
You’d ended up going to bed in the early hours of the morning, spending your entire evening trying to make Bakugou some chocolates. You’d tried to follow the recipe you’d found online perfectly, but somehow you managed to decorate your kitchen in a mixture of cocoa and vanilla. Once you’d popped them out of the moulds you were nervous, a cheap store bought box sat in your living room ready to gift instead if things went badly. And maybe you’d bring those into the office too, in case your boss didn’t enjoy the ones you’d made. Testing one to make sure you wouldn’t accidentally kill the Number Two as you decided that they were good enough. You’d wanted them to be perfect, but maybe he’d like them anyway.
Both chocolates sat in your bag as you pressed the button to call the elevator down as you clung to the strap of your handbag.
“You think you can bring down some of Dynamight’s chocolate later?” He grinned as you shifted from foot to foot nervously.
“Uh— sure.” You smiled back, wondering if your handmade chocolate would even be good enough for the likes of your boss, probably nothing compared to some of the other gifts he’d inevitably receive today.
And you weren’t naive, you’d expected your boss to receive some chocolate or gifts today. He was the Number Two Hero after all— But what you hadn’t expected was the absolute avalanche of gifts the moment you stepped out of the lift.
Bakugou’s floor was covered in hues of pink and red, so much so you thought you’d stepped inside the local department store. Not only were there a huge array of chocolates— there were floral arrangements, teddy bears, cakes and what you assumed to be piles of letters sat around your desk.
Groaning as you dumped your bag onto the ground, shouldering your coat off to place it on the hook in the corner as you wondered how on earth you were going to get any work done when you were surrounded by Valentines Day.
What did Dynamight even do with this stuff? There was no way one man could eat this much chocolate, even with a sweet tooth. Your fingers reached out to stroke one of the vibrant red rose petals as you thought about the tiny box of chocolates that now sat in your bag.
There was no way you could gift those to him now, not after seeing this. Your messy wrapping was nothing compared to the intricate designs and patterns on these gifts. The next one more lavish than the last— some must have cost hundreds, maybe even thousands as you collapsed into your chair with a pout.
Maybe if you were lucky Dynamight would let you try some of the chocolate. You were certain one of the boxes that sat decorating the room contained some of the luxury chocolate that had gold flakes inside, and maybe you’d sneak out one of the bottles of champagne to in order to have with a warm bath tonight to try and drown your sorrows.
Bakugou came into the office around midday, preparing himself for the graveyard shift as he stepped out of the elevator onto his floor. Pulling out one of his headphones as he let his vermilion eyes screen the room, groaning at how disgusting the arrangement looked as he saw you settled in the middle of it all.
“Good morning, sir.” You smiled softly, and it had Bakugou’s heart racing.
Bakugou grunted in reply as he came towards your desk, cringing internally when he noticed the strong scent of women’s perfume permeating the air. The contrasting scents mingled together as it made him feel lightheaded, wondering how you’d managed to work in this room surrounded by all this shit for so long.
“Call maintenance, get them to come up and get rid of all this shit.”
“Oh, I wasn’t sure if you’d want to see any of it—” You smiled softly.
“I dunno how you’re working surrounded by this crap, shit fuckin’ reeks.” He groaned.
“It’s not so bad,” You mumbled shyly, “I can send all the gifts downstairs, but there’s a few letters you might want to see.”
Bakugou looked back at the sacks of letters placed in the corner of the room, wondering why his PR team hadn’t gone through them and sent back generic replies with his photocopied signature like they usually did.
“Lazy assholes.” He mumbled under his breath, “You been eatin’ the chocolate?”
“Uh- yeah, sorry sir. I’m—” You’d taken what may have been your only chance to try the expensive chocolate, deciding that if you were going to drown your sorrows you were going to do it in luxury.
“Take it.” He cut you off, “I don’t care about this shit.”
“Oh,” You felt your heart drop as he continued past you towards his office.
“Fuckin’ hate this stupid day.” He mumbled, opening his office door.
“Yeah, Valentines is overrated. I’ll get this cleared up for you, sir.” You smiled wistfully as he closed the door behind him
Taking the chocolates out of your bag you decided to add them to the massive pile of gifts in Dynamight’s office. Not wanting to take them home and eat them yourself, it was already embarrassing enough that you’d spent so long making them for Bakugou when you should’ve known that you wouldn’t have a chance.
Tumblr media
But little did you know on the other side of the door, Bakugou slumped into the chair in his office as he pulled a small gift out of his jacket pocket. Your words playing in his mind as he toyed with it between his fingers.
She thinks valentines is fucking overrated.
He’d been a fuckin’ idiot, stopping into one of the quaint, independent shops moments before closing to try and find a gift for you. Feeling stupid in his full hero costume as the store assistant smiled at him, locking the door so he could have a few moments to himself after closing to help find the perfect gift for you.
Shoving the small box into his pants pocket as he tipped the assistant generously, leaving the store to continue his night patrol.
White Day was approaching, but Bakugou wasn’t sure he could wait. Determined to give you the gift when he came into the office the next morning. But seeing your face surrounded by all those gifts from other women, and seeing how deflated you looked by the whole holiday, there was no way he could give you his gift.
Tossing the small box into the top drawer of his desk as he lay the back of his head against his chair, groaning softly.
Man, fuck Valentines Day.

Sad Girl (Part III)

As you joined the street-level crowd from the subway, you pulled your scarf higher as the bitter wind swept over your face. You quickened your pace in the hope of getting out of the cold sooner as if you could catch up with the darkening sky. The interview had taken longer than you anticipated, and you still had to write up the report and have it on your boss' desk by 9 AM the next morning. He had been a thorn in your side, consistently pushing your buttons. He always insisted on having paper copies of every report. "It makes your report more meaningful," he said, "otherwise you're just repeating someone else's words." It took all the professionalism in you not to reach across his cluttered desk and slap him then.
By the time you reached the office, the sky had dulled into a dark grey, and the lamp posts cast their warm glow onto the street. You said goodnight to the exiting coworkers and rushed through the doors to see that Gwen, the receptionist, was leaving, too. She called out to you as you walked past the reception.
"Hey! There's something for you on your desk."
You nodded.
"Thank you."
"Doesn't say who it's from though."
You thought for a moment; a small smile crept onto the corner of your lips.
"I think I might have an idea."
Gwen gave you an understanding look and headed out. You approached your cubby in anticipation and were greeted with a sweet floral smell emanating from the bouquet that sat next to your keyboard. You took it in your hand and marvelled. It was a peculiar combination, one you couldn't really find at flower shops, held together by a simple ribbon of blue cloth. No crinkly wrapping paper. The light shade of blue hyacinth went so well with the bluebells, coupled with orange peonies and a single olive branch, which created a harmony pleasing to the eyes and nose. The piece of paper nestled in the bouquet only indicated your name in a neat font, but other than that, nothing. Still, it brought a smile to your face, a speck of joy on an arduous day. You pulled out your phone and typed out a quick text before sending it off.
Thank you for the flowers. They're beautiful.
You still had a soft smile on your face by the time you got ready to write the report. Your phone vibrated, signaling a text message.
What flowers?
Your brows scrunched together in puzzlement. You took a photo and sent it off. Not a minute later, you got a response.
Wasn't from me.
A slight hollowness carved itself into your throat. You texted back.
Oh. Are you sure?
The response came quickly.
Dead serious. You might have a secret admirer ;)
Never mind then.
You set your phone down only to have the phone vibrate again.
Wannna go out tonight? Me and my buddies are going to this new club on Fifth Ave.
You sighed, dreading the idea of having to stay at work late. But you didn't like the sound of going out either.
I'm alright. Just a little tired tonight. Have fun though!
The read receipt and a heart popped up on your last message. That was it. You turned your phone to silent mode before opening a new document; your recorder and notepad were ready by your side.
By the time your report was put on your boss' desk, it was already 9:30. You exhaled heavily, feeling the weight on your shoulders chip away. You took the flowers with you and nodded to the security guard on your way out. It was late, and you didn't feel like cooking, so you made a detour to the soup and sandwich shop around the corner and placed an order. You sat down on the bench by the window, allowing the gush of heat from the radiator to warm your legs. There was music coming from across the narrow street; its volume changed as people filtered in and out. People were smoking outside, chatting animatedly with one another. It stirred something in you. You worked late on a Thursday night, getting takeout by yourself because you couldn't even fathom the thought of whipping up a simple meal. You opened your last message with Andy, wondering if it was too late to change your mind.
You met Andy through Mindy when her workplace went out for happy hour. It was just shy of two weeks after you cut things off with Matt. He was a nice, easy-going guy who tried to include you in conversations throughout the night. Mindy's forms of suggestion came in the subtle look of her eyes, the slight inclines of her head, and often, a jab of her elbow. It annoyed you how much she tried to look out for you even though you didn't need her help, but at the end of the night, the triumphant was hers. Andy asked for your number, and you agreed out of an obligation you felt for Mindy's relentless effort for you to move on. It had been two months since the first date, with many dates between then and now, and all you could say about it could be summed up in one word: fine. You didn't feel a spark. Andy could be charming at times, funny, and generous. You liked him, but your heart didn't beat wildly for him. He wasn't anything like Matt. Andy was the one you should want.
So why did you still feel a sense of hesitation?
You looked at the bouquet, your curiosity piqued. Taking out your phone, you typed in the flower combination laid on the narrow counter. Scrolling through the array of articles, you noticed the keywords they shared in common.
Apology. Ask for forgiveness. Wrongdoings.
You read and read, and the realization seeped in. The clarification didn't give you any relief, only mild irritation. Matt fucking Murdock. Who gave him the right to remind you of his presence when it still lingered around? It was an undeniable indication of how much you were still so helplessly captivated by your history with him, thinking about him like he was an old wound that ached every now and then to remind you that you had always had it and that you could never be rid of it. Memories of Matt, just like the pain, were a part of you now, and you couldn't bury them or try to forget them. You had to live with them, and hopefully, when it was finally enough time had passed, you could look back at the memories with fondness, a sweet bitterness over someone you couldn't have, but you had long accepted the fact.
For the moment, the fondness was replaced by irritation. With dinner in your hand, you walked out of the door, leaving the bouquet in the trash can of the quaint restaurant.
Over the next six months, so much changed, but the one constant thing that did not was Matt's attempts to reach you and still give you the distance you needed. Once a week, on the same day, a bouquet of flowers was delivered to your desk. They never included the sender, only the recipient, and always had the same connotation.
I'm sorry.
You had to admit it was sweet. It also earned you looks of admiration and teasing from your coworkers, who were cooing over the fact that your boyfriend was such a sweetheart. For the few times someone mentioned it, you had to clarify. Andy wasn't your boyfriend anymore, and he hadn't been for the last two months.
When you broke up with Andy, it came as a surprise to him. He thought everything was going well, but your perception of the relationship was the opposite. You weren't into him; you were into the idea of having him as a placeholder for Matt. It was the cruel truth. Being with Andy didn't make you happy, and you doubted it would be any different if you were with someone else. You wanted more. You wanted the thing that you couldn't have with Matt, and at this point, you had settled for the fact that it would never be yours. But for now, you were okay with being by yourself. You wanted to be alone in your own existence and accepted the fact that when the right time came, it would come with the right person. For the first time in a long time, you felt the burden that clouded your head fall away like a crumbling infrastructure.
You quit your job despite your boss's pathetic attempts to stop you from leaving, promising you a promotion that would make you his right-hand woman. It was more work for just a little more money, and it wasn't worth it. To your luck, shortly after leaving the newspaper, you got hired as a junior staff writer for an independent publishing house. You still got to enjoy parts of the work you liked before, with better pay and a more relaxed schedule. You had more time to enjoy what you couldn't before.
Gwen still kept in touch with you, telling you about the bouquet of flowers showing up a few days after you left. And then, after that week, none at all. You figured Matt had a way of finding out about your new workplace since, shortly after the change, new bouquets were delivered to your desk promptly as if nothing had changed only except for the fact that you stopped throwing them away. You had started to enjoy them. Who knew there were so many ways to apologize to someone with flowers?
You thought you would cross paths with him eventually, but you didn't know it would be a peculiar chance encounter like this.
The gloomy sky haunted the skyline of New York City all day, teasing with little drops here and there. The air was heavy, as if it was holding itself in anticipation of a great storm. You prayed it wouldn't rain before you got home, but as you were halfway there, the sky parted, and the downpour was vicious. You couldn't see too far in front of you, and out of desperation, you ran up the stairs of the nearest shelter. You stood awkwardly on the small porch of the building as heavy droplets railed on the pavement in a frantic rhythm. You leaned a shoulder on the wall, exhausted and drenched, looking helplessly out into the downpour that showed no sign of stopping soon. Water dripped from your lashes, and with each blink, you saw a moving silhouette formed in the misty veil. Your heart beat faster and faster as the silhouette approached until he became someone you knew too well. Emerged from the rain was Matt, his breathing heavy, but you doubted it was from running from the rain, for his footsteps slowed, hesitant as he sensed that the porch he was approaching wasn't vacant. And the space was occupied by none other than the woman that haunted his fitful sleep and waking daydreams.
For a long moment, you could only stare. The water clung to him like how every piece of your existence that used to long for his approval and touch did. And Matt seemed to do the same thing. You couldn't bring yourself to break the silence. Your eyes were wide open as if you were afraid his presence was only something your mind made up. That he wasn't real. And just like that, you were starstruck again. Just like the first time you saw him after you realized that you loved him. In the gradual slip of the initial shock, you took in the newness in his familiar appearance. His hair was a little longer than when you saw him last, prompting the little curls at the nape of his neck. His dripping briefcase did its best to shield his face from the rain, but you could see the strays followed the slopes and rises of his handsome features. His lips parted, pulling in a deep, slow inhale. He looked like a man who was in disbelief, and truth be told, you felt the same way. Only now did you realize how much you'd missed him.
"What are you doing here?"
You croaked and cleared your throat when you realized your voice was barely a notch above a whisper. Matt shook himself out of the trance, clearing his throat.
"This is, uhm– my office."
"Oh!"
In a fit of panic, you didn't realize that it was the Nelson, Murdock and Page office. What kind of cruelty had fate forced upon you? You sighed, an apology on your lips as you put your bag above your head.
"I'm so sorry, I will go–"
Before you could launch yourself into the pouring rain, Matt stopped you with a hand on your elbow.
"No, please. Stay."
And because he knew you so well, he could sense your hesitation.
"You can get warm upstairs and wait until it's better out there."
You watched the way the tips of his ears had turned into a darker shade of pink. This anticipation reminded you of the time when, with just a look, you knew you had fallen for him. You swallowed and managed to croak a soft "okay." Matt nodded, a little breathless himself, as if he was relieved that you agreed to stay. He pulled out the key and unlocked the door before holding it open for you to step inside. You walked the stairs, remembering the last time you were here. Your heart was in fragments, barely held together by your nerves, by the time you reached the final steps.
You roamed your eyes around the office as Matt turned on the old heater along the wall. It looked about the same, but now there was a monstera adding a touch of green to the space. You shrugged off your damp coat, and Matt took it out of your hands. The gesture felt so natural, you thought to yourself as you watched him hang the coat next to his by the door. He had stripped down to a simple white dress shirt and black slack, and you averted your eyes at the sight of his torso visible under the wet shirt as if you hadn't seen him naked before. He threw his tie on the desk and came out of his office with a throw blanket. He held it out until you took it. It looked handmade and felt soft to the touch. Matt pulled a chair out for you in front of the heater. You thanked him and put your bag by your feet after taking the seat. A brief moment of silence followed, and Matt immediately assumed his position as the gracious host.
"Do you want some tea? We have the kind that … that you like."
A shiver ran through you. A cup of tea didn't sound too bad.
"Please. If you don't mind."
He waved his hand dismissively and walked towards the kitchen. You listened to the sound of him rummaging around in the small room. Feeling awkward just sitting there and not being useful, you called out.
"Do you need some help?"
"I got it. You stay warm."
You settled against the chair, wrapping yourself in the blanket. Feeling the gentle and warm brush of the radiator on your legs, you shivered slightly. Your heart was hammering in your chest, and you tried to calm yourself down by focusing on the monstera leaves instead of the presence of the man who once broke your heart.
Matt came back to the room with a steaming mug, and you took it gratefully. It looked like he didn't make any for himself. You took a sip, allowing the tea to burn your tongue.
"How have you been?"
His question knocked at the mutual understanding of your situation. You weren't exactly friends, and you were long past the point of lovers. But it didn't have to be awkward. With so much history between you, all the memories twisted and turned and took off, swirling furiously like the storm outside. But there was a blessing in it. The storm was out of your reach, and right here, right now, you were safe. The person who lapped up crumbs of attention from the man who never explicitly gave them was a part of you. But not anymore. You could start fresh.
"I'm fine. I figured you knew about my new job?"
Matt dipped his head sheepishly as if to hide his expression of being caught.
"I did. Are you enjoying it?"
"I am. It's a lot less stressful when I don't have to answer my boss' unreasonable demands. I get more freedom in what I do. The pay is much better, too."
A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"I'm glad. It seemed like you had a bad time at the newspaper."
"Yeah, I did."
You nodded, feeling a brief wash of melancholy at the mention of your old job.
"I know the flowers come from you."
There was no point in avoiding the subject. Your heart was on the verge of exploding, but you had to. You both knew it was coming.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry for overstepping. Just say the word, and I'll stop any kind of contact with you."
When you didn't respond, he continued with his face angled towards you. The window behind him cast sharp shadows on his face, and from this point of view, you could see the agony on his face.
"I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable. I just … I had to try to show how sorry I was. How sorry I still am."
"I know."
You sighed.
"As much as I would like to blame it all on you, it was on me as well."
At that, Matt sat up straighter and protested.
"That's not true–"
Your hand sprung out to hold his hand, keeping him there. Matt stilled as if your touch had paralyzed him.
"Please, listen to me."
You went on despite the slight shake in your voice.
"I let my expectations run wild even though we were clear from the start. It was a mutual benefit arrangement."
His other hand came to rest on top of yours. Warmth seeped from the palms of his hands, and you wished you were enveloped in his embrace instead.
"I stepped over the line myself. I wanted to show you how much you mean to me. I gave you mixed signals and lied to you about my own feelings."
You inhaled deeply.
"What feelings?"
"I really thought it was better to keep you at arm's length and not let myself … feel things for you, but I did anyway. I should have been honest with you. But I thought I wasn't deserving of someone like you."
Your heart rattled in the cage that was your chest.
"What are you saying, Matt?"
A sorrowful relief caressed his face.
"I love you. I regret not saying that to you every day we were apart."
You felt as if all the air was pulled out of your lungs.
"Don't lie to me, please. I don't want you to just– just say what I want to hear. I'd rather never have you than to have you unwillingly."
Matt placed your hand on his heart, letting you feel the rhythm underneath your palm. Erratic, wild and uncontrollable, just like yours.
"I only want you. I think about you all the time. I'm miserable when you're not around."
"I don't know what to say …"
He brought your hand to his lips and kissed it with a tenderness you had missed dearly.
"That's okay. Take your time. I'll wait for you as long as you need."
He paused briefly, then continued as if it took great strength for him to utter the words.
"Even if you no longer feel the same, it's okay, too."
You couldn't conceal the wide smile in your voice.
"I mean, telling a girl that you love her before going on a first date with her? Mindy wouldn't like that."
Matt chuckled, the sound warm like the honey he put in your tea.
"Was Mindy the one …?"
"Yup. She doesn't like you at all."
"I deserve that."
You caressed his face, feeling the stubble along his jawline. There was a feeling you thought you would never get again, but now, you were basking in its glow.
"Can we … can we take it slow?"
His lips found the palm of your hand, kissing it tenderly.
"Of course. Anything you want."
