4. Does your oc have a defining physical trait? What makes this feature unique?

Shae does have some tattoos that aren't pact marks! I just never include them because i actually can't draw them or they are hidden by her clothes lolol but she has one of a moon mandala ish design on her sternum/underboob area. Kind of like this for reference:

but with the moon placement kind of right where the two vines meet.

She also has a lavender tattoo on her inner forearm!

Before coming to the Devildom, Shae is very interested in the magical realm and her tattoos and style definitely reflect this. She's super into herbalism and loves tattoos with flowers and other flora/fauna.

12. What is your oc’s biggest fear? Why?

Shae is super afraid of being out of control of her own body or powers. So things like sicknesses tend to scare her a lot (she's squeamish when it comes to being physically sick and also blood). Once she gains her magical abilities in the Devildom, she is really afraid of losing control of them and hurting those she cares about.

What are the origins of Gond Art?

Gond Art is a folk tribal art form practiced by arguably the largest tribe in Central India. The art form today is expanding many new horizons and has acquired a cult following in Indian art connoisseurs. The tribes involved in this art form predominantly hail from Madhya Pradesh and parts of Chattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra, Telangana Maharashtra. Although we mainly associate it with these pockets this art form with time has acquired a pan-Indian appeal and enhances the rich heritage India takes pride in. Let us discuss how this rich tradition grew. From where it all started The recorded history of Gond Art goes back to as many as 1400 years. The areas where we find its traces have also been identified with rock paintings from the Mesolithic age. Since there is a very evident stylistic and thematic influence of Mesolithic paintings in Gond Art, who knows probably their legacy dates back even further? The Gonds trace their roots back to the Pre-Aryan age and anthropological sources identify them as Dravidians. The dialect they speak is also heavily influenced by Telegu and other Dravidian languages. Why Gond? The word Gond comes from Kond in the Dravidian idiom which means green mountains No wonder why nature is such an integral thematic stylistic element in Gond Art with the recurrent depiction of motifs like trees, leaves, animals, birds, fishes, fish scales, drops of water and primitive human figurines. Gond Art's existence is so much intertwined with nature that paintings for them are an offering to the worship of nature and a divine medium for seeking protection and warding off evil. Values beliefs: The Koi or Koiture what the Gonds call themselves, traditionally hold the belief that a good image begets good luck. This explains why Gond Art for the Kois wasn't just a recreational pastime but a part of their lifestyle. They decorated the walls and floors of their houses with traditional motifs and tattoos. The paintings were influenced by Mahari Devi, Phalvari Devi (Goddess Kali), local flora fauna and were made on festive occasions like Karwa Chauth, Ashtami Nag Panchami. Colors painting style: The Gond painting uses bright vivid colors like yellow, red, blue, and white. These days due to the paucity of natural colors the Gond paintings we see are made by poster colors on the canvas, however, traditionally the colors were derived from charcoal, colored soil, plant sap, mud, flowers, leaves, and cow dung. The extensive use of straight lines that we see in Gond Art is used to convey a sense of movement and add motion to the still paintings. The use of dots dashes enhances the illusion of motion and increases the scope for depicting things in detail. Gond Art in form and the range of subjects it derives its art out of celebrates the rich heritage of India. It is important that we promote it and reinvent it in our aesthetic choices and preferences. Artists like Suresh Kumar Dhurve, Kalam Patua, and Balua Devi through their paintings are taking this art form to a global platform. We have gained enough that the world has had to offer us, it's high time that we now look within our rich and vibrant cultural heritage. terrible. manon loves interior design and wallpapers. she used to draw a lot, specifically patterns and nature flora and stuff. she doodled mandalas on her schoolwork until her teachers got mad and threatened to expel her.

her parents want her to marry a rich man and live comfortably without getting employed, preferably someone with a business she can help run from the background. she does not actually mind this very much, because she'd also like to help manage something (even if she isn't literally the manager), but she really wants to marry for love.

she micromanages things. she takes notes on everyone around her, especially those she finds interesting. after her first crush on a girl, she secretly looked into what little queer media she could find, while her parents purposely looked the other way because they didn't want to acknowledge the possibility of manon being queer. she's pretty progressive for her time.

she would probably love psychology if she were alive today, but in 60s france psychology was a very fresh thing. i think she would've tried to understand the human mind as much as possible though. in a flawed, biased, nonscientific way, but definitely in A Way.

she could fix vincent, i think, if he had never hired rody. she would've continued to go out with him, fully aware that he did not give a shit. her parents encouraged this, unaware that he did not give a shit. eventually, she would informally propose to him, but it reads more like a business proposal because it goes:

manon: hey i think the best course of action here is for us to get married

manon: i already know you will say no, but hear me out. you do not love me, or even like me. i am coming to terms with that, but that's not why i'm saying this. i believe you have a multitude of issues, and if you continue to ignore them, you will end up flying too close to the sun and burning your restaurant down with you.

manon: you don't seem to experience love for anyone, from what i can see. i can also see that you desperately want to experience it. don't give me that pissed off look, i've seen the way you look at the couples we pass. you have that same stony look, but you squint your eyes a bit, like you're trying to figure out what it is they have that you don't, and how to get it.

vincent: manon, i've put up with you for the past two months, but i do not care-

manon: shut the fuck up okay look at it this way. you have no sense of taste. you have told me this much. you want to taste something. that's fine. but the fact remains that you cannot and will not ever be able to taste in your life, no matter what you cook or eat.

manon: there's more to food, however, than the taste. there's texture too. surely you can differentiate that, right? yes. what i'm proposing is to help you learn to appreciate texture in food (platonic relationships).
