This was a moment of pure magic. I watched the last of the hummingbird chicks perch on the side of its nest and glance around, while mom made quiet trills from a nearby tree. Then the baby lifted off, and a second later it lit on a branch near its mother. I'm amazed by how quickly they have gone from helpless hatchlings to independence and seemingly effortless flight. Observing this little bird family has been such joy.

I've been a very busy boy today.

Several purchases and gene/breed changes later, I've got another offshoot of Vaudemire Way. Mal, Shuck, and Arizona are the grave robbing, Dragonhome scouring Ne'er-do-well cowboys-con-archaeologists hell-bent on the next quick score, be it in gems or artefacts. Equip with shovels, drills and moral bankruptcy, The trio make their living off of rustling, thieving, and skirting paying inn fees by charming their way into the local's bedchambers- and even those with Gembond or glimmering, stony scales find their bodies lighter all the same once all is said and done.

Micte and Chel, on the contrary, are long-lived captives to the annals of time and Dragonhome, locked away long before the first age for their proclivities for mischief and destruction, bored guardians of piles of useless riches, adorning themselves in silver and gold as little more than an attempt to pass the time in the tombs they've been forced to call home.

The very tombs Shuck's drill is about to unseal...

Do people even like sand/shadow/shadow anymore? Do people even RP with dragons anymore? These are questions I know not the answers for I've been playing with dolls in my corner.

Dedicated myself to the cause of making the Diamond Riot look more suitable to their roles as battered, life-harried cowboys and grave robbers, and my urge to hatch an egg resulted in their most recent and likely last member, Rezonant- the explosives expert of the crew, Rezonant is the youngest of the crew by far, brought in by Mal when he found her picking his pockets orphaned in a nowhere-town in the Snowfields- quickly making herself indispensable as the one with the knowledge of how to make things go Boom.

Living now with the pearlcatcher and his crew made up of the drill running lesbian duo of Tearmarsh and Shuck- who's shared charge in Mal has led to only a small number of comedies of errors and only one instance of 'two guardians and a man baby' that ended with the blast scars on Mal's snout- and the conniving, steel-jawed treasure hunter with deep pockets and shallow morals, Arizona, Rezi's storied history of close calls sees her just as heavily modified as her companions, taking point on digs with her father figure and learning the crew's terrible habits of theft, rustling, and loving and leaving them by observation.

But her next dig is all but routine- and they've unearthed not only the protectors of a hoard of glittering treasure-

but the things sealed deeper within the earth than even the ancient tombs of dragonhome.

The eyes of The Host train themselves now on the members of the Diamond Riot- and things previously tucked away in catacombs shake off the cobwebs and stretch leathery, rotted wings anew...
