every so often I remember osha canonically likes both men and women and get a little giddy about it
#mandatory disclaimer that no I do not think this bi rep is winning any awards due to Jecki and Osha’s small amount of screentime together#HOWEVER.#one of the hottest protagonists I’ve seen gets to flirt with a woman and have later tension with a man?#tailored for me personally only wish that Jecki and Osha had gotten more time so the death hurt more#(but then again the short amount of time may facilitate Osha’s ability to ignore that relationship for her fall etc)#star dorks#light and life#also I’ve talked about it on priv and maybe make a post#but in a franchise where so much of the bi rep feels like an after school special#osha bearing her arms to jecki and flirting that she’s flexible#and then the subsequent tension with qimir#that feels real. lived-in. she was attracted to both and didn’t have to announce it to the camera#sometimes thinking someone’s hot or appealing Sonny#a grandiose statement it’s just that#actually wait tag amendment: after school specials and marda ro

Hey why do we assign moral value to strength and weakness? Strength isn't inherently good or even always useful. Weakness isn't inherently bad or useless. There are applications for weakness to be useful and helpful and same goes for strength, but they're both morally neutral and neither are inherently pure/good or wrong/corrupt or whatever you wanna call it
#all this to say nothing about flexibility or inflexibility#sometimes you need a strong and inflexible material#sometimes you need a weak and inflexible material that will crumble or crush easily#sometimes you need a strong and bendable material#sometimes you need a weak and flexible material#sometimes you need a person who can lift heavy things#sometimes you need a person with a very delicate and weak touch#none of this has any bearing on moral value or health or anything of the sort#it only describes a fitness for purpose (or lack thereof) if you ask me#and there are many purposes in life for which strength is not fit but weakness is ideally fit#anyway idk where this thought came from but disability rights i guess

When people feel unconfortable with smut, it’s usually bc they feel uncomfortable with their own sex life. When people feel uncomfortable with fluff, it’s usually because they don’t like it IRL either. When people feel only confortable with angst, typically indicates unresolved trauma, when people is flexible about all of those genres, regardless of their personal preferences, meaning they don’t feel any discomfort reading it or writing it, whether they particularly like it or not, then it means that person has found balance in all those aspects of their real life and it reflects in their writing/reading.
Our creative outlets are a HUGE tell on our current mental/emotional status. I’m talking about a rigid/flexible spectrum in terms of tolerance, not about subjective tastes. One thing is a taste or preference, a completely different thing is full-on discomfort or even rejection and disgust, when exposed to certain stuff, that’s rigidity. Rigidity is always a 🚩 or at the very least a yellow one.
It’s good to know where we are truly standing, in case we feel we’d like to change that. Keeping in mind this flexibility/rigidity spectrum, we can know where we stand even if in some cases all of these reactions may be somewhat unconscious. Keeping tabs on our triggers is always helpful.

I think very often about the fact that Silver doesn't have any friends from his own time. Even if he did make friends in the future, he would risk erasing them from existence any time he chose to go to the past; and not only would nobody but him realize the loss that happened, but also he would have nobody but himself to blame for causing the loss of his friend.
And that made me wonder: If Silver were to be rendered unable to (seemingly) ever return to the past and got forced to make a life for himself in the future, and then he did, but then suddenly he regained the chance to see his friends from the past again… Under normal circumstances he might've had little qualms about visiting the past again, but after spending potentially years accepting he'll never get to see them again but he's not gonna let that prevent him from living his life… would he be willing to risk losing the life he has now?
Exactly this is a dilemma I like discussing in some of my fics as well, like New Beginnings and Genesis. The choice to go back in time and making a whole world and its inhabitants not exist in the first place is definitely made more easy when that world is beyond rescue and its inhabitants are mostly gone or rapidly dying out anyway. Since the games never dive into Silver's life in the future except some vague mentions here and there, like Silver saying that the sky is blue and everybody's got a smile in Colours DS, I find it hard to infer what his social life would be like there. But indeed, if he brings forth an accidental change to the timeline, it is very likely that people he knew in the future are gone or get fundamentally changed. And if they don't recognise him with each timeline 'reset', I can imagine that for Silver it eventually becomes better to just not have any acquaintances there at all. It leads to too much heartbreak, too many goodbyes, and far too much guilt. No, in such a scenario, I really do think Silver might steel himself and ensure his only friends are ones that are safe in the past, where his control over their lives only extends to ensuring they can keep on living instead of being responsible for their demise. Stopping people from coming into existence is already a tough choice, let alone if it's someone Silver knows, and I think he's got a lot to grapple with conscience-wise about it all.
As for your question in your second paragraph, I'm afraid I don't have a solid answer. I think a lot would hinge on how likely it is his visit to the past immediately changes the entire timeline. If he were to visit on some calm weekend afternoon when there's nothing happening regarding Eggman and the like, I don't think there would be too much chance of things going wrong? But I do think he would be tremendously antsy about it all, both in part because he hasn't seen his friends in the past for so long and in part because he is afraid he's going to lose some friends all over again, but then in the future instead. All in all, it is a situation wherein I see only losses and problems, with no easy solution to ensure everything goes well for both people in the future and the past simultaneously. But somehow, I have faith that Silver can make it work!
#I myself like to imagine the timeline as slightly flexible#so minor visits from Silver to the past do nothing to cause large changes down the line#but only huge things like stopping an Eggman victory from happening which otherwise would have gone off without a hitch-#-is too much for the timeline to bear and thus everything changes#but since our own world does not really seem to have time travel in the way Silver does it that is pure imagination on my part haha#silver the hedgehog#I wonder how Sonic and friends react if he just stays away for days turning into weeks into months and then years#Dodonpa reached out to him with a racing invitation so it's not *impossible* to get to Silver in the future#but what to do if he just doesn't respond anymore?

#ok. so the guy from school i visited emailed me today like: good news! we unanimously voted to extend u an offer here#so expect the formal offer in the next week. and im like uuuugh i wanna say yes so bad#bc in the us i would have more flexibility in the program than i would in the uk#and my options in the us r either to b a big fish in a small pond at this schoolor a little fish in a big pond at the other#bc this school is underfunded and a bit isolated out in the mountains but the staff r pretty great and big egos dont seem like a big issue#but if i go to the other school its like a big well funded school. the application was like 75 dollars. fuck u and really annoying#and i mean id have to live in new jersey. so in the city with city driving and prob a more high pressure school environment#and more of a chance of dealing with big egos. but like career wise im sure it would b good. assuming i don't mentally collapse#but i mean that doesnt seem as fun as spending 5 years out in the rocky mountains#like thry have fucking moose and bears! there were deer and turkeys in town!#and my dad just sent me a video of all the spring peepers singing back home and im like 😭 bc froggies and he was like i bet u could find#frogs out in [redacted city] and im like 😭 ur right. it just seems like the better choice for my poor overtaxed brain and the project is#so cool too. i want to get the cyano species as my computer background asap. and the guy is nice and apparently super supportive#and i could probably walk to hiking trails. god. i mean i have to say yes to that. i wanna say yes so bad. send me the formal offer bro#ill fucking take it before i even hear back from the other schools lol. ugh. i hate making choices#oof i am so excited to kno where im going and plan my departure. its gonna b such a pain moving tho i pray that my mum or dad can drive#with me bc otherwise the 20hr drive by myself might kill me. thats almost as bad as my initial move out here lol. the us is so big#ugh. again choices. is this the right choice? probably one of the biggest decisions of my life. the project feels so right. cyanobacteria#my algal group of choice. and hot springs. how tf do u say to no to that? i mean. id b doing that in new jersey too but with red algae#ugh. put me out of this misery lol. also as an aside. shout out to my fucking disaster brain for not being able to focus on a single thing#my boss in a meeting: so glad to have students and staff so excited to b working on this project!! me: lady i hate that im on this project#bc im just sitting in until they can get an actual student. i just do what im told but appreciate the enthusiasm lol#ay. im so tired. i wanna see the snow and mountains. and fix my head. and get outta the desert. and listen to frogs 🐸 😌#unrelated

Omg you also love both Heven Sent AND Hell Bent?! The latter seems a bit polarizing across the fandom, so it's so fun to find out that I follow someone I didn't even realize liked it as well! That shit made me cry and now I need to rewatch.
yes!!! Heaven Sent is peak acting from Capaldi and such a good use of form for character development. Hell Bent is...the total abuse of power in order to save one person, the only one who matters, because who are you without them, because the choices you made to save them cannot possibly be justified unless they are saved in the end, because one more loss in a lifetime of losses might be the end of you. you're a god and a monster and a terror to the universe but you are also lonely. you would like to never be lonely again.
#dw#mehoymalloy#i WILL say that i don't love the bit with maisie williams#just because it did feel like they really shoehorned in that flexible interpretation of prophecy#one of dw's arguable weaknesses is the writers' impulse to make season finales Universe-Wide Stakes#and not trust the audience to be invested in ''just'' the characters#anyways that being said yeah i did tear up at the final electric guitar solo of Clara's theme#the cost of your terrible love is a total forgetting because no one in the world can bear to be its object

Robert's profile on toyhouse is finished... I think! I'll tweak some small details and some artworks but it's up and running. And if I come up with something new I will add it to his profile.
If anyone wants to know who this idiot is you can find the info I've been sitting on there.
#not art#toyhouse#I'm enjoying the flexibility of this site#been fiddling with html and css#english is not my first language so bear with me when it comes to grammar and spelling#grammarly helps me though#previously I have stored character infos in some shitty unorganized documents which has bothered me 5ever#I'm making sure to back-up the toyhouse info onto those documents though

I feel seen by this post cause this is the exact same way I feel about this show!!!! Like idc it's a Comedy and I'm not afraid to admit that . Also the last part is such a mood like GIVE THE GIRLS THEIR FLOWERS
being a “the bear is a comedy” defender during awards season is TRYING WORK. joshua jackson was SO RIGHT in explaining it:
“[the bear] is played straight by the actors but the scenarios are absurd or heightened and geared towards calling out the absurdity of the situation, which to me is a comedy, as opposed to playing into the pathos of the situation, which is then drama.”
bowen yang was also SO RIGHT for saying that these genres simply don’t exist anymore!!! this isn’t the days of 30 rock or the big bang theory with laugh tracks and 3645916 punchlines per minute !!! art has that boundaries are MEANT to be pushed effectively!! which is what chris and co. are doing!!! dramedy is TWO categories, so you guys need to stop complaining when the dramedy falls into the comedy category.
also don’t even get me started on ayo or quinta not winning. lord, you are TESTING ME!
#comdey is more flexible and nuanced#while drama is a bit more rigid#but not a lot of people wanna take comedy seriously as a multifaceted genre#just saying#the bear#carmy berzatto#the bear fx#sydcarmy#sydney adamu#emmys 2024#heavy on Ayo and Quinta not winning#like what the hell
