I tried the Good Karma Unsweetened Flax Milk mixed with the Pepsi New Improved Pepsi Zero Sugar Soda and it was pretty good. The zero sugar Pepsi gave this flaxmilk a sweet taste but after it sits for a while it will curdle. This milk tasted pretty good to me.

It was a little sweet to me but not overly sweet and tasted like a flaxseed version of a root beer float to me.

I would drink this again.

Champiñones blancos en salsa Stroganoff vegana

El plato me supo bien pero la textura suave del champiñón cocinado no me gusta tanto.

En la receta utilicé leche de linaza para la preparación de la salsa Stroganoff (que por cierto busqué y viene de Russia de los años 1800. Fuente: https://www.bonappetit.com/entertaining-style/trends-news/article/origin-of-beef-stroganoff).

La leche de linaza resultó bien para la salsa de los champiñones, y utilicé adicionalmente los restos sólidos de la leche de arveja para espesarla. Fue una muy buena idea. Le añadió cremosidad.

Para el caldo de vegetales, que en ocasiones no sé bien qué usar porque no quiero usar el cubo de caldo de vegetales porque trae a veces mucha cebolla o también porque trae MSG, usé el caldo de papa. Fue un éxito total.

Primero herví las papas y al día siguiente las calenté y ahí agregué laurel, tomillo y orégano. Podría haber sacado las papas primero si no quisiera que el puré quede con hierbas.

El puré también lo hice con leche de linaza. Ahí no estoy tan segura del uso de la leche de linaza porque esta es viscosa y dejo el puré un poco viscoso en vez de cremoso.

Pero igual supo rico.

Creo que este plato puede ser mejor utilizando otro tipo de chanpiñones como orellanas o tal vez el champiñón Rey? Tendría que probarles.

I tried the Good Karma Unsweetened Flaxmilk + Protein Alternative Milk and this was okay. This tasted healthy tasting and like ground up flaxseeds mixed with water. It was unsweetened so you can really taste the flaxseed but this didn't have a aftertaste to it.

I tried it with the Cocoa Krispies Cereal Straw and it gave this drink a little sweetness. I would put the hershey's chocolate sauce or eat this with a sugar cereal.

I would try this again but on sale and mix it with Pepsi to see what happens. Might make Pilk out of this later to review.

Leche de Linaza

Para la preparación del pan Vegano utilicé leche de linaza en vez de leche de vaca. La linaza es una semilla muy económica (COP $2.500/500g), poderosa (tiene omegas) y abundante. Con solo 1/8 de taza de linaza pude hacer una taza de leche.

Cometí el error de colarla instantáneamente lo que lo hizo difícil porque se vuelve viscosa muy rápido. Lo mejor es dejar la pulpa asentar y luego sacar la leche.

Me gustó mucho el aroma, pues no se siente el aroma planta, a verde, sino un poco más a nuez (?).

La calenté para mezclarla con la levadura y quedé muy sorprendida de que creciera tan rápido y tan abundante. Siempre lucho con despertar la levadura.

El sabor es todavía muy a nuez, tal vez un poquito amargo, pero fácilmente ocultable con algún endulzante o saborizante. Para el pan fue perfecta porque además necesitaba utilizar un reemplazo para huevos y la misma pulpa colada de la linaza sirvió para eso.

La probé también en champiñones stroganoff que hice y puré de papa y ha resultado muy bien.
