I've known the boys since I was young. I went to school with Tobi and Josh then when youtube came around we started playing games together. Soon they had created one of the biggest groups on youtube and I was their most requested guest. I have a great relationship with all of them and immediately hit it off with Freya and Talia.
Last month the uk went into a full lockdown. Josh, Freya, Simon, Talia, JJ and Vik were already living in the same house but Tobi, Ethan, Harry and myself packed our things and also moved in. Because we didn't want to be trapped in the middle of London alone. But since there aren't enough bedrooms for all of us, we flipped a coin to decide who would stay in the small granny flat at the end of the garden. Me and Harry ended up winning and I was actually really happy that I would only be sharing my space with one other person instead of nine.
At the beginning it was going great. Everyone was a little fed up with the fact we couldn't leave the house but we were lucky enough that we have a huge garden that makes you feel a little less claustrophobic. Me and Harry are getting along really well. We have separate bedrooms but share a bathroom, which can be slightly annoying at times.
One night I sat on the small couch in our living room/kitchen. Harry clicked open the door after coming back from filming with the boys. "Hey. How'd it go?" I asked, glancing up from my phone. "Uh- good." He replied plainly. My brows furrowed "are you okay?" I stood from the sofa. "Huh? Yea fine." He quickly entered his room then closed the door. I was a little confused but just assumed he was tired and didn't feel like talking.
The next night the same thing happened. He practically avoided me for an entire week. Until I'd had enough. I hesitated as I went to knock on his bedroom door. I took a deep breath then knocked my hand against the painted wood. "Harry?!" I heard a frustrated huff then the door cracked open. "Yes?" "Uhh, can we talk please?" I asked quietly. He looked down at the floor then left his room. We walked towards the kitchen and each sat down on one of the breakfast stools.
"Listen. I don't know if I did something to upset you but we're living together you can't just keep avoiding me. If you have something to say then just spit it out!" My voice raised as I spoke the last sentence. His jaw ticked. He looked me in the eyes, then his gaze flickered down to my lips. My breath hitched, my palms began to sweat and my heart beat so fast I thought it might pop out of my chest. The next few seconds were the slowest yet fastest of my life. He lent in and kissed me. Harry fucking Lewis kissed me. The boy I've known for so many years. The boy I've had a crush on since I was sixteen. But all this time I assumed he didn't feel the same so I suppressed the feelings as best I could.
I moved forward to place my hands on his cheeks, bringing him closer to me. As we broke away to breathe we rested our foreheads on each other's. We kept eye contact as he desperately placed his hands at my waist and lifted me onto the kitchen counter. He stood between my legs as he kissed me, hard. "Harry..." I moaned as he began kissing down my neck. He pulled my hoodie over my head revealing the small white cotton bralet I had on underneath. His eyes flickered from my chest back up to my eyes. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" He asked, with his hands by his sides. "Please Harry, please." I begged. He took that as a yes so quickly fumbled to remove his shirt.
He pulled me off the counter then carried me towards his bedroom, my legs wrapped around his torso. I kissed his shoulder gently as he walked. He groaned as we approached the bedroom. "I need you Harry." I whimpered as he lay me down on his soft sheets. The room was dark so I could only barely make out his figure stood before me. I could hear shuffling then my pants along with my underwear were being pulled down in one fail swoop. I gasped as he moved over me so his dick was just inches away from my soaking wet cunt. He gently wiped the hair from my face then attached his lips back to mine. "You ready?" He asked between wet kisses. "So ready."
After that night we continued to have sex regularly. We weren't sure what we were even labelled as yet so we decided to keep it a secret from everyone else. Thank god we were at the end of the garden or we would have a problem. I'm not exactly sure how the other couples in the house were managing to have a sex life. But me and Harry were so loud. We did it in every possible room, kitchen counter, sofa, shower, his bedroom, my bedroom. I think we were just so bored that the only thing to do was have sex.
Almost two months after that night he asked me to be his girlfriend. It was actually really romantic. He cooked me dinner in our kitchen, bearing in mind it wasn't the nicest pasta I've had but that didn't matter. The only thing that mattered was that he was officially mine and I was his.
Once the lockdown was fully lifted life seemed to return to (somewhat) normal. Tobi, Ethan, Harry and I moved out and moved back into our own apartments. We hadn't actually talked about what we were going to do once the lockdown ended. I obviously knew I still wanted to be with him but the realisation suddenly hit me that I was actually dating one of my best friends. One night Harry asked if we could tell everyone and I wasn't sure what to say. We decided that we would wait a little longer until I felt one hundred percent ready.
A month went by and we still hadn't told anyone. I lay in bed next to Harry, the sun shone through the blinds and I was completely naked, from last night's events. I slowly opened my eyes to see Harry looking at me. "Hi." I whispered sleepily. "Do you like me?" He asked. I wasn't expecting that. I pushed myself up so I was leaning on my forearm. "What? Of course I like you." I lent in to kiss him but he gently pushed me back. "Well why don't you want anyone to know about us?" His face was serious. I sighed then placed my hand on his cheek. "I just- well- I've known you since we were teenagers and I- I don't want to mess this up. I don't wanna lose you." I finally admitted. His face softened then he lent in to kiss me. "I love you y/n." He whispered. My heart warmed. "I love you too." "I've wanted to say that for a while but I had to make sure you felt the same." He kissed me again.
The next day Harry brought me along to a sidemen shoot. "So, me and Harry have been- um- daiting for a while." I announced. They didn't seem to be very shocked. "Yea we figured that out when I went to ask if you wanted something from Nando's, since you weren't answering your phones, and I heard some... strange noises." Ethan explained with a chuckle. My face turned bright red. "Oh my god." I buried my face into Harry's shoulder.

Prompt 11 - Hot Toddy
@wolfstarmicrofic December 11, word count 478
Since they’d left Hogwarts and didn’t have access to the Hospital wing and the skills of Madam Pomfrey, Remus had to make do the best he could after his transformation each month.
This time, he’d caught a nasty cold, and no matter what potions Sirius brewed for him, it just wouldn’t shift. Sirius had been amazing and had even gone to Hogwarts to beg Madam Pomfrey to come help. It hadn’t taken much. As soon as he said it was for Remus. She’d packed up a medical bag and come back with Sirius. But even she couldn’t figure out how to help him.
It had been over a week, and Sirius had turned to muggle medicine. Remus could hear a lot of swearing and clattering in the kitchen. Remus hauled himself out of bed and wandered towards the herd of elephants parading in the flat.
His limbs felt heavy, and his joints ached, but he knew it was good for him to get out of bed, even if it was to deal with whatever catastrophe was going on.
Sirius stood facing away from him with an array of ingredients lined up on the counter and two mugs. Remus watched as Sirius mixed honey and firewhisky together, then added half a cinnamon stick and poured boiling water from the kettle into each mug.
The sweet, fiery smell hit Remus, and he groaned. It was the first thing he’d been able to smell since he had got his cold. Sirius nearly dropped the kettle. He spun around, grasping his chest as he chastised Remus for being out of bed.
“Get back to bed; I’ll be in in a minute.” He said, putting the kettle back on its base. Popped a slice of lemon studded with a clove into the steaming mugs. Remus had no idea what the drink was, but he couldn’t wait to try it.
He let Sirius usher him back to bed. He flopped back onto the mattress and tucked himself back under the covers. Sirius joined him and passed him one of the mugs.
Remus inhaled the fragrant steam.
“What is it?” He asked as he blew on the top of it, hoping it would cool down quicker.
“It’s called a hot toddy. A sweet Scottish granny told me how to make them when I was looking at the cold medicine in the pharmacy. She was quite insistent that it was the only thing that would help,” Remus nodded along and took a sip. It was delicious. Sweet and spicy and warmed him to his toes. He downed it quickly and snuggled into the bed, his eyes growing droopy as he drifted off to sleep.
When he woke up, Sirius was gone, and he felt better than he had in days. Now, he wasn’t saying that Sirius’s concoction had worked, but it certainly hadn’t done any harm.

Baby bat meeting Max for the first time
Back on my bs again
Warning: language
The silence was tense. Opressing. The whole pack, with the addition of their new little sister, was scattered around Max’s oversized kitchen, looking tensely at one another. This was it. It was happenning. The very first meeting of their sire with the girl and it wasn’t going as planned. None of the boys knew what to do. If they should step in and try to salvage what they could or just stand back and let the two of them hash it out.
„Cradle snatcher!“ she exclaimed and pointed finger at Max who looked like a deer caught in headlights.
They turned her a week prior and she took to vampirism like a fish to water, with only one tiny hiccup. Her grandmother. Her legal guardian and only thing that kept her bound to her old human life. The boys liked her granny and they allowed her to visit her old home every night. Why not? Betty had great control over her bloodthirst and to be honest, the boys just liked granny Nora, simple as that. The old woman made the best meatballs in the world and her cookies were made from pure magic and lard. Who wouldn’t like her?
And that’s the problem. Max met Nora by accident few days ago. And he fell for her a bit harder than the boys. Big problem.
„Now, let’s not-„
„How old even are you? Hundred times five? How dare you even think about nana like that? She was just a baby when you already had these,“ she gestured widely to encompass all the boys in question. „Do you even know how to rise babies? You could have killed her by accident!“
Dwayne moved in to try and calm down his sister but she just growled at him. Ok, no touching allowed.
„My dear, this is-“
„What are you intentions?“ She crossed her arms and cocked her hip to show she meant business.
„My what?“
„Intentions! What do you plan to do with my nana?“
Paul slinked back into the hall to calm down. He had to do some breathing exercises before he burst out laughing because that would just make the whole situation worse. He didn’t need Betty on his ass too.
„Well, of course I would treat and cherish her like a true gentleman,“ he asnwered.
„Gentlemen of your generation thought that earth is flat and women exist to pop out kids and scrub floors. Next question,“ she spat before Max was able to defend himself. „You wanna turn her?“
„Of course I do, my dear. If she accepts of course. You don’t have to worry about anyone trying to force Nora into anything, I assure you.“
„And how do you thing it’s gonna work, huh?“ Betty was getting really agitated. Flailing hands around like she was swatting away annoying flies. „She needs to hunt so she will use her cane as a boomerang?“
And at that Marko finally burst out laughing. Full on belly heaving laughter that made his curls spring back and forth like yo-yo. He had to catch himself on the kitchen sink, howling into the open window and startling a bunch of birds in nearby tree. There was a crash from the hall too, followed by snorting.
Betty turned to Marko, „shut up.“ Then looked back at Max. “What’s her favorite pasta sauce?“
The man just looked at her, barely processing.
„Oh I know that!“ Paul came in with excited grin, his hand up in the air like he was a schoolboy trying to get teachers attention. To his endless dissapointment Betty ignored him.
„You don’t know? How can you treat a women right when you can’t even feed her properly?! Wanna know what I think? I think you just want her for her body.“
And that made even David snicker. The women was over sixty, chubby and had mutated bird’s nest on her head. Decades of heavy smoking made her sound like heavy metal singer fucking Conway Twitty. Yeah, some primo milf real estate right there.
Max finally found his voice again.
„Betty, child, I understand you love your grandmother and want to protect her but this hostility is uncalled for. I can promise you, she will happy with me.“
„What about sex?“
And just like that, all molecular movement seized. All the eyes were on the fuming girl. You could hear a mosquito fart.
„What?“ Max choked out.
„Sex, copulation, the old hanky panky, boinking, porking, horizontal tango, matrimonial polka, bringing an al dente noodle to the spaghetti house, bedroom rodeo. Sex. What’re you gonna do about it?“
And that was when Dwayne quietly disappeared into the shadows. The poor man could handle no more. David envied him. On one hand he wanted to see this marvelous trainwreck disaster to it’s grand finale, on the other hand, he would have to see Nora in near future. How was he supposed to look into her eyes ever again?
„I’m not sure this is appropriate topic to discuss, my dear.“
„Translation – game, weak.“
By this point Paul was back in the hall, trying to caugh out a lung. Marko was hanging out of the window, ass sticking into the kitchen. Like that would even help. They could hear him howling just fine.
„Just so you know, nana is very needy. She needs a lot of attention,“ Betty waved her hands around to show just how much attention she meant. „All the grandpas from Boardwalk to Luna Bay took a swing in that batters box. You sure you have enough life in you to keep up with her?“
David was usually good at reading people but the face Max was making right now was something new. Was he mortified? Shocked? Was he about to have a stroke? Can vampires even get a stroke? Well Betty was on a good way to cause one in a minute or two. David, in his endless mercy, took pity on his sire and stepped in.
„Come on, kid. What can he possibly do? Your granny would fuck him up worse than you ever could.“ And now Max made a face David could translate perfectly. The ‚not helping‘ was loud and clear. „Besides, you know where he lives now.“
Betty sighed heavily before conceding. „Ok, the truth is, I can’t do anything about the two of you frolicking around, if nana really wants to. So let me give you some pointers. We don’t want nan to have subpar dating experience with you, do we?“
After that followed an entire hour of ‚how to treat your lady‘. And Max even looked like he listened. Or at least he was silent so that was a win.
David was impressed.
He was fucking amazed his sire was taking it laying down with cheeks spread wide. Sure, Max was never harsh with them. He made it clear how he wanted the boys to behave but never actually enforced anything. ‚Boys will be boys‘ and ‚children will find their own way‘ was  his way of thinking but holy hell it looked like someone was about to loose his right at wearing pants after this.
„And don’t forget to make her black coffee every night around 9pm. It helps bowel movement.“
Dwayne finally made his way back into the kitchen and sat down next to David. „Coward,“ the blonde whispered before puffing on cigarette number fourteen. It was a long night. He didn’t get an aswer but Dwayne’s blank stare was all he needed to know. They will have to hunt tonight to bring some life into him.
The terror twins were sitting on the kitchen landing with their feet kicking up in the air. Only two people to have some fun tonight. They were mumbling and ocassionaly commenting on do’s and don’t with granny Nora.
Finally – finally – Betty seemed to run out of breath. „Well, that should be all. For now.“ She was about to exit the kitchen before turning back, „if I sniff the air for a bit, I can smell the overwhelming disappointment of my ancestors. But I guess nan could do worse.“
And with that the pack left very stunned and very mute Max to his own devices.

Modern Granny Flat Builders in Baulkham Hills
Demand for modern granny flats has been on the rise in Baulkham Hills. As people look to get the most out of a property or accommodate multi-generational families, a modern granny flat builder is very much sought after in the industry.
A modern granny flat builder specialises in stylish yet functional and efficient living spaces that blend in with the existing homes but now meet all the requirements of today's needs, including affordable granny flats Baulkham Hills.
Tumblr media
Why Modern Granny Flats?
Modern granny flats are more than excess rooms but include a wide scope of living options suited to all requirements. These structures; independent living rooms for elderly relatives, rental properties, and home offices, have changed the concept of family living and property usage.
Modern granny flat design focuses on creating space to minimise energy consumption and retain its aesthetic value. Builders at Baulkham Hills have been leading the pack, including design solutions that answer the latest principles of design and technological advancements.
Some of the Key Features of Modern Granny Flats
Innovative Design
Modern granny flats often come with open-plan designs that give an interior the feel of being roomier. By joining living, dining, and the kitchen in a single design, these structures promote a comfortable and practical use of the space. Baulkham Hills builders are good at fitting everything into a square meter, so even the smallest spaces do not have to feel cramped.
Energy Efficiency
With increasing consciousness of pollution and environmental degradation, energy efficiency is also an important feature of new granny flats. Builders in Baulkham Hills install energy-efficient features like solar panels, high-insulation capabilities, and LED lighting. Not only do they minimise the carbon footprint but also save the owner, over time, money on their utility costs.
Customisation
Personalisation is one trend happening with granny flat construction. Builders tend to allow for the personalisation of floor plans and interior finishes that will help the owner create that personal space, which reflects a particular house owner's taste and meets some specific needs. Cabinetry is the perfect and right flooring choice; whatever it is, the process will guarantee that every granny flat will stand unique and tailored to suit the individual tastes of homeowners.
Quality Materials
Another hallmark of the modern granny flat is the quality of materials. The builders consider such factors as durability and aesthetic appeal when using them for the modern granny flat, hence ensuring that every material used adds value to the total look and duration of the structure. Such features include premium countertops and stylish external finishes, amongst others, where quality and craftsmanship are paramount.
How to Choose the Right Builder
Selection of the right builder is essential to completing local granny flats. In selecting the right builders in Baulkham Hills, the factors mentioned below must be taken into consideration.
Experience and Expertise
An experienced builder will bring lots of information to the table. He or she will be conversant with local building codes as well as zoning restrictions and design trends. A known builder of modern granny flats will most likely deliver what you expect and meet all the relevant standards.
Portfolio and References
An extensive portfolio says a lot about the style and capabilities of a particular builder. Asking for references from previous clients can also elaborate on what work habits to expect from the professionals you hire. Positive reviews and successful completions are wonderful indicators of your chosen builder's skills.
Communication and Cooperation
Clear communication is the most important factor for a successful project. The builders who are open and willing to collaborate ensure that your visions come to life. Smooth updates, regular feedback, and an open willingness to address problems make the building easier.
Trends in Granny Flat Design
Some of the recent granny flat designs include the use of green material, smart home technology, and outdoor living spaces. Builders in Baulkham Hills embrace such trends to ensure they meet the needs of changing homeowners' preferences.
Use of Green Materials
Sustainability has recently become a trend in construction. Builders now follow material that turns out to be eco-friendly, hence reducing the impact on the environment while increasing energy efficiency. Some of the materials that are normally applied are recycled materials, low-VOC paints, and sustainable wood products.
Smart Home Technology
Granny flats today have more and more smart home technologies incorporated into them. These features include smart thermostats, security systems, and automated lighting to add ease and enhance functionality to the house or living space.
Outdoor Living Spaces
Modern granny flats stretch a living area into the outdoors. Modern features that builders now put in homes will aid them in creating enjoyable outdoor spaces, especially in outdoor kitchens with covered patios and landscaped gardens.
A modern granny flat builder in Baulkham Hills needs experience, portfolio, communication, and cost. If you have the right builder, you will get a stylish, functional, and energy-efficient granny flat that will add value to your property and meet your expectations. For someone looking at an affordable granny flat in Baulkham Hills, local expertise works to ensure that your project is both cost-effective and of quality.

Sis and Mum went to a mobility scooter/electric tricycle showcase which ended up being a dud because you need quite a lot of upper body strength to operate such things but they got to chatting with the woman in charge of social housing for the town who also knows about my involvement with the food bank/period supplies. Small towns eh?
Anyway sis has been offered a 1 bedroom flat on the other side of town as early as two weeks away - this first place is too far for me to visit on foot. I don't want her to have to deal with her cptsd paranoid episodes on her own or feel abandoned because I can't rush over. Part of me is thinking that at least maybe she'll actually finally broach the paranoia and rages with her therapist if it's something else and get actual help for it. The third thought is that she might actually thrive without our competing disability needs, ouch but yeah.
I have no idea how it'll work financially or we'll need to take on a new roommate or move to somewhere with just two rooms. Government housing is like that.
It might be a good thing, as much as I live living around the grannies this place is not wheelchair accessible so I was stuck at home for the first 7 years. I miss a more multicultural ambience too, we stick out as 'the immigrants' as the elderly Moroccan neighbours are abroad half the year, neighbour L is off living with her grandpa and the grannies are quite conservative.
I think the idea of having to pack and decide in two weeks was a bit much so she's going to txt the lady about maybe a later move. Idk and I'm keeping a distance unless invited in to the process. I just want her to be well enough to heal.

Day 25 - El Burgos Ranero to Mansilla de las Mulas
About a 12 mile day according to the book.
Both of us had a really ropey night last night, the earth certainly moved but not in the right way. The woman above me in the bunk seemed to shift about all night, and the rocking was compounded by the man above Jane. He was up quite a few times and as the bunks were so close together would steady himself on mine while getting down.
We were awake before half 6, packed up then had breakfast at the place we had lunch the previous day before getting on the road about 20 to 8.
I don’t think El Burgo Ranero is a place to revisit and we did our best to take our usual early morning photo. They had covered the trees on the path with crochet granny squares which was pretty.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The road was again very straight, very flat, and very long following the side of a quiet road. There were no towns for about 8 miles so it was just a question of plodding on and nattering about daft things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After a while we came to a dip in the road that had been forested and in the woods were some cows (excitement of the day!). There was also an amusing sign about people not going to the loo in the woods and leaving their mess behind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
About half way we stopped at a picnic area and lay on the benches in the sunshine for a good half hour, finishing off Jane’s chocolate bar and chilling which was very pleasant.
Tumblr media
After the rest it was time to break out our headphones and get the music on. Whilst the walking the last couple of days has been boring it has been nice to properly listen to music.
Our coffee stop finally came into view where we made the acquaintance of two Irish guys, Barry and Shane, and had a chat. It turned out later that they also knew Nicole (who caught us up today). It’s like a spiderweb of friendships.
We ploughed on through the last 4 or so miles, and I managed to get a bit of video of Jane dancing to whatever was on her headphones!
The hostel where we are staying is first rate. It’s very modern with a lovely garden and proper restaurant. We had a menu del dia at lunchtime again, then caught up with a gang of friends who had recently arrived.
We chilled, I had a shower then a wander around the village, then Jane had a wander.
Tumblr media
When I got back there was a gang having a chat in the garden and when Jane got back we had a group photo. We realised that most of our pics are of the landscape and not of people. So, left to right we have Jane (of course), Ashley (US), Betty (Belgium), Otto I think?, two people from Costa Rica that we met tonight, Nicole (Australia), Laura (Germany), Joe & Charles (US).
Tumblr media
Jane and I didn’t want much for tea so had a bocadillo (baguette) with ham and cheese. We sat with the youngsters whilst the others had a proper meal. The young ones all want to go partying tomorrow in Leon, and whilst the bar culture is tremendous I can’t remember any clubs.
So Jane and I are back in the dorm ready for bed. The bunks are more solid tonight so fingers crossed it’ll be a better night’s sleep.

Pale 8.a
She reached into her pocket and threw out some more tiny candies into the bushes.  Plants summarily died in the ensuing fracas, caught between goblins who were fighting over one cent, strawberry-flavored granny candies.
goblin magic seems very cost effective
“And ‘Meri’s one of the coolest people you’ll ever meet, so hop on board, don’t cross her, it’ll be great!” “And if Libs or me are up to something, follow our lead!”
Meri is a good nickname. Libs, not so much.
“A kind word?” The scowl became something more closed, face scrunching up, mouth closing for the first time. Looking away, he muttered, “‘sed I was big and strong.” “What I said just now? Was that the most recent, or was it the first and only time? Really? Buddy…”
awww
At her urging, he laid out flat, until he was draped out across her belly, her arms around him. She held him there with one hand and pet him with the other.
weirdly cute!
and guys are gross and guys dads are grosser and you’d think the girls and women would get it and they don’t.  Humans suck.
she should talk to Verona
One human being besides family who was willing to ask me who and what I wanted to be and who cared?  Who was willing to work with that?
this is a rare positive opinion of Alexander. For all that he was self-interested and sometimes awful, he was also willing to put in time and effort for people who seemed useful. And seems like he was willing to look past standard practitioner biases
“I’m pissed and I don’t know why!  I’m a little freaked I’m as bothered as I am!  I liked him and I might have loved him a bit and that’s really fucking lame that I might’ve loved some old hot guy because he listened to me and was nice to me sometimes and shit!”
pretty self-aware, huh
the closest things I’ve got to having anyone to blame are three kids
... so about that.
Flops, though, just lay there, having finally relaxed enough that he’d kind of melted a bit around the edges, muscles untensing. Trusting her.
aww.
Their entire world had turned upside-down, she hadn’t known if she’d ever get a clear answer about America, and those three that America was so pissed at had sorta helped.
division in the ranks, could be useful for the Kennet Trio. That's the kind of thing they used Alpeana to go after during the coup
But they’d made a deal early on.  To not let their sisterhood slip away, like so many sisters did. No other choice, thanks to a years-old oath.
goddamn practitioner childhood oaths. This would be sweet! And it's clear they care about each other, and it is meaningful that they wanted to make sure not to drift apart. But that oath means that they no longer have a choice about it. I can see that becoming resentment down the line if they want to pursue different lives.
“They’re trying to make nice. Estrella introduced them to Silas, and Silas and his guys have influence,”
good to see they're building that connection
“Transformation: war bikini!” America shouted, hurling a pellet at the ground. Smoke exploded all around her, and in the trees, a goblin hurried to get out a scrapbook-style booklet and flip through pages, squeaking out orders as goblins hurried forward, pulling off outer layers to reveal the swimsuit ‘Meri was wearing underneath, or putting on other accessories, like spike-studded straps and belts. They squabbled here and there as they got entangled.
goblin-powered magical girl transformation is hilarious
Through the girl she was fighting, a deep-set tiredness, close to the heart, running through the core of her, crown to root.
aww Avery. This has not been a restful summer
The cracked rusted fork, abandoned, did one full rotation, then cracked further. Like an egg, it popped open. A tiny red goblin lunged at Avery, “Boo!”
oh. I had wondered, back in the packing lists, what was up with this rusted fork of Snowdrop's. And all along it was a goblin... I'm going to guess Cherrypop. Staying in weapon form all this time because she's not the smartest or strongest, and there was never a good time to be useful. All along, she's been here supporting Snowdrop. Because they are friends.
Liberty smiled, seeing how happy the little one was.
Very glad that Liberty is letting them go. Between this and her treatment of Flops earlier, it seems like she has a soft spot for the little goblins, which is unexpected but sweet. It's nice to see someone who genuinely likes goblins and wants to support them, as opposed to just tolerating and using them.
When they’d sworn to stay close, to be good sisters, they’d also promised each other they’d play along and go along.  The idea had been that they’d be cool to their kids and any students in ways their teachers hadn’t. But it went for goblins too.
oh interesting. That seems like a terrible promise to make, way too vague and potentially disastrous. Oddly, it's reminding me of Faerie? And how they can be manipulated with a good narrative.
But putting practicalities aside, I really like this as a worldview. It seems like, especially as goblin practitioners, the sisters got shut down a lot, and they don't want to bring that forward. I remember being a bit worried by how their father was characterized when mentioned, and this feels to me like the sisters making a commitment to be better than the previous generation.
I think that's been something touched upon through this story: how incredibly fucked up the world of Pale is, particularly practitioner society, and the children of that world trying to build something better.
The Blue Heron Institute was a first approach towards that, moving from insular apprenticeships to more open learning, but it was also a power source for personal advancement of Alexander and Bristow. But in these past arcs we've seen the students start to reject that, and rededicate the school for learning rather than power games. I'm also thinking about Zed, pulling his friends together to offer help, and Nicolette, taking Seth in because forswearing isn't a weapon people should use on each other anymore
If this was the best this little mouse-sized goblin could manage… Liberty would respect the shit out of it.
:)
Avery was standing now, hand at her stomach, where it had been scraped up, a dozen red lines of varying thickness and a bit of ripped up skin extending from pelvis to ribs.  She winced. “It’s okay, getting used to it,” Avery said. “Thanks for not going as far as you could have.”
not thrilled by Avery getting used to this
America getting kidnapped by Bristow had been scary for Liberty in the exact same way that Liberty saying no now was scary to America.
So I can see how that would feel the same: the one person you can trust absolutely to have your back isn't there doing that anymore. But these situations are not the same! You are allowed to make your own decisions, not just follow your sister! I hope after this they talk things over.
“I know stuff,” Flops said, voice deep but small. “Stuff. About the hot dead guy. A goblin saw."
shit.
... I'm hoping Liberty won't tell America what she learns, or will deliberately not ask for the information, but all the same that would do a number on their sisterhood.
“America doesn’t need to hear that.  It makes her angrier for longer.  It’s going to get out sooner or later, because that kind of thing always does.  Has to.  But not now.  Not while it’s all raw and she’s already bloodthirsty enough.”
so a middle ground. Hopefully America wouldn't be inclined to chase the girls back in Kennet after she's had time to process
Also, very lucky for the Kennet Trio that Liberty is suppressing this, because while goblins are not most people's favorite information source, they may be questioned sooner or later.

Entry 3: April - June 2018
April the 13th, Friday the 13th to be exact.
I think this is the night when i completely snapped. This night is the reason why doctors diagnosed me with BPD.
It was one of our good days. I had walked to the bus to walk him home after work one day. Studying didn’t work out for him, apparently attending film school was boring because he already knew everything. Bro, you’re shit, should have stuck with it. Every time he told me one of his “brilliant” ideas i was internally eye rolling.
By this stage we had moved out into the “studio”(his family’s Granny Flat). It had a sliding door, as well as a regular front door. His family would often let the cats in through the sliding door, so when we heard the sliding door, we assumed that is what is was.
We were out the back in our makeshift lounge room, and thought nothing of the sliding door opening and closing. Five minutes later there was a strange guy standing at the door of the lounge room, i honestly thought it was one of his friends and casually said, “hello?”
He seemed to have more of a problem with a stranger standing in our home, there was conversation about why he was standing in the door way, he was accusing us of snorting drugs, I’m sitting there terrified with my pussy out..
He managed to convince the guy to go back to the front door where the stranger didn’t want to leave. He tried to force him out of the door, where the stranger punched him in the face. Not to diminish his feelings about it, or the fact that it was physical assault, but it obviously wasn’t very hard. Bro left more marks on me. while this was happening, i was on the phone with the police.
After the stranger punched him, the stranger left, i then made the mistake of shouting at him as he was walking back down the driveway. When the stranger turned around we proceeded to slam the door so he couldn’t get back in. Front door however, had glass panels, so he kicked them in.
I ended up with cuts all up my leg, you can still find glass in the carpet out there to this day.
The police showed up not long after the stranger has disappeared down the main road, and we were asked questions for hours. They took photos of my legs, the glass everywhere.
We slept inside the main house that night.
I couldn’t even go out there during the day.
The next day we asked one of his friends whether we could crash at hers for a while, she lived with her grandma, and she was overseas in Italy for a couple weeks.
The arguments were out of control, we didn’t spend a second not arguing. It was mentally and physically draining. Some arguments i would go for a walk to get some space, and id come back to all of my things on the front porch. All because i needed to breath. This is when i confided in my year 12 best friend. She knew about the ups and downs in the argument. Our belief is that i was only allowed to be her friend because she was utterly blind to the reality of the situation, and he could easily manipulate her.
When the girls grandma returned from Italy, we asked if we could rent the room from her. She may be old, but she’s not stupid. She knew what our relationship was like.
So after 4 weeks of staying at her house, we packed up and moved back with his family. This is where we made the decision to move interstate.
I was stupid if i thought this would fix our problems. If anything it aided him in secluding me. The only person i knew over there was him.
He was supposed to start a job on the first day we moved there. He slept in because he didn’t want to work there.
So once again, neither of us had a job. I was at least studying criminology. His dad didn’t think that was worth anything. He even told my ex’s mum that I didn’t do anything, and i was lazy. I didn’t find this out until we moved back to home.
He went crazy once he had moved.
He asked my grandparents if we could come over with them, they were going over on a holiday at the time. It seemed perfect. The first night, we stayed with them in the cabin they were staying at, I can’t even remember the argument we had, but it was right in front of my grandparents. It got to the point where i went inside to them crying, telling them that i thought i was making a mistake by moving with him. He’d left to go for a walk while i cried, i also got yelled at because I didn’t follow him when he left. He physically ran from me, so what was i supposed to do?
When we met up with his dad, his dad didn’t even say hello to me, looked at me like i was scum. Didn’t greet my grandparents. He was rude.
He would lash out at me every. Single. Day. He would pack my suitcases everyday and tell me to move home.
After the move is when things started to escalate. He shoved me for the first time, in the bedroom where we were staying, he would throw things at me.
Meanwhile, this is 7 months into the relationship.
He decided to take a trip back home because it was his grandfathers birthday and he wanted to surprise him by being there. Once we were home is when his mum told us that his dad had been speaking to her while we were over there, bitching about me and said that my ex was allowed back but I wasn’t.
All we did through July i party.
I came to the decision that i wanted to do some study. I didn’t think criminology was working out. It was online, but I didn’t know what my prospects were and couldn’t find a job. I was applying for jobs around the town without his knowledge, if he found this out i would have been hit by him earlier. While he didn’t want me to work, out of his own insecurities because how dare other men exist in the world, he also wanted me to work so we could afford the party lifestyle he wanted. Did he believe we were Mick Jagger? Motley Crüe?
His only condition for me to study? I do it in the town instead of the city.
I decided on studying to work in childcare, i could work at the same time as study, and that was a great idea to me.
We continued to live his dream life and party every weekend.
One night before going out we got into an argument because his mum suggested that i tighten my bra straps so that my boobs would look perkier, genuine advice from her.
This night i was wearing a turtle neck, I’m not sure how he came to the conclusion that i was going to try and make myself look better for other guys, but that’s what he assumed. I was tightening my bra straps, so that other guys would look at my boobs..
During these 3 months i spent nights awake thinking about the things that he has said to me that day during an argument. Tossing and turning, because how could someone that loves you say those things? Think those things about you?
I got into the headspace that if he thought those things about me, then i should too.
