Ace, this look AMAZING!!!!! I love the concepts and designs!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA This is so cool!!!!!

I'm not too good with names, but here are some ideas i came up with(Note, I am not a medical professional! These are all my conceptions/perspectives on these characters/mental illnesses and how this/they work, THESE ARE ALL THEORIES/OPINIONS AND THAT ONLY!!!!):

Mentality au (Mental and maybe how they will try to change their mentality

Disordered au (Due to these mostly being called Disorders and everyone kinda seems everywhere all at once)

Inside the Mind AU (Due to everyone having some sort of personality/mental issues, they seem to be in their heads most of the time. Jax being narcissistic and inside his head thinking he's the best, Pomni thinking everyone is staring at her and judging her, Ragatha with overthinking if she's good enough for the others as well as feeling guily over situations(like abstraction) that she cant control, Gangle with having her emotional state shift quite easily, she probably has the mind set of both pomni and Ragatha [in the sense that when she's manic she's hyper aware of her surroundings and most likely thinking everyone is judging her and her depressive state being she thinks she's not good enough with things, that she's too emotional and not being able to control a situation], Zooble with needing things to be exactly how they envision things in their head and probably situations as well, and Kinger I think just kind spaces out or daydreams)

I got too ahead of myself, but I want to say again: I am not a medical professional, nor am I a part of this au and its story. These are all my conceptions, opinions, and ideas. Please give Ace all the love and support for making this au! They have done a lovely job with designs and just everything! These are just name ideas and my own visions of explanations of the names. Thank you, and Ace, I can't wait to see what's next!!!

Again, i feel the need to say: I am not a professional by any means and just wanted to make an interesting au that could be fun.(im diagnosed with ADHD anxiety and depression, im 98% sure I have BPD, and im 90% sure i have OCD, so Id be basing it off of what I know plus personal experiences) Please inform me of any misinformation I may have spread, as this was not even remotely intended to come off as offensive.

Zooble is based on what kinda made me think I had it. Everything needs to be a specific way. I wanted it to be ironic as they have a protractor and pencil and eraser to fix things to their liking, but then their design itself is a bit chaotic.

Kinger already gave adhd energy originally so i kinda just bade the boy unable to sit still LOL if anyone has ideas let me know

Ragatha, I wanted to dress her in something physically and mentally comfortable tbh

NOW I DIDNT CHANGE MUCH OF POMNI AND LET ME TELL YOU WHY! 1. Pomnis design draw attention EASILY with its colors, which makes her feel like everyones looking at her. 2. Shes a jester, so it feels to her like everyone is laughing at and judging her. 3 i wanted to incorporate ways for her to self sooth. Grabbing her hat, flicking her bells, rubbing the soft fabric, squeezing the chest and torso puffs, etc.

Jax? Well I just wanted to make him look comfy and confident. He WANTS eyes on him, unlike Pomni, and he goes out of his way to make others pay attention to him.

THIS IS SUCH A HARD QUESTION.

To address the obvious answer given recent activities: no i dont think he should marry Feducci, but he… might, if given the chance. The man CANONICALLY sent Sam 12 cellars of wine with a note reading "TO PASSIONS UNMATCHED" i dont think anyone can blame him for feeling like they had something special!!!! Feducci seems like he could make him very satisfied intimacy-wise but would also almost certainly Make Him Worse.

Samuel's constant difficulty with Marriage is that he isn't really… romantic in the traditional sense. HE HAS A LOT OF PHYSICAL DESIRE but romance rarely does anything for him outside of stories, and he gets antsy whenever he's locked in to a particular life plan. HOWEVER: he is usually too Catholic(TM) to really embrace a no-strings-attached lifestyle, and his tastes are well outside the typical Veilgarden hookup anyway (one of his most sensual experiences was getting murdered by an actual literal lance through the gut, so…). The real reason he bought multiple viric dreams of the Bishop of Southwark was that he was trying SO hard to Want Marriage, but even with someone so physically intense and driven, that dream of settling down for life isn't what he really wants; he just wants the part where they're wrestling by the fire.

The other complication is that he has finally found partners he can be happily intimate with: Peter and Jack (@little-red-notebook and @reliably-derogaffectionate's characters, respectively), to whom he is essentially a friend with benefits. He was best man at their wedding somewhat wistfully, but since they've both assured him that they still want him involved in their relationship, it feels very easy to be with them; a closeness he wants without the expectations that come with being a Spouse. It's still, you know, making love outside of marriage, but Samuel has never been good at avoiding that, and at least here he knows he's not leading anyone on or cheating on anyone.

An Ideal Marriage for Sam would involve some amount of polyamory to give him room for these inevitable, ah, extracurricular activities, someone that doesn't tie him down, ideally someone he can do physically dangerous things with and, importantly, have sex (these two activities can be combined). But I also think in an ideal world he would have someone who respects his own principles and doesn't try to smother his hope for compassion with duty, which feels like the big sticking point for a lot of the aggressive characters (like Southwark and Feducci) that Sam's attracted to.

I don't remember well enough to say how many of these points she hits, but I keep thinking of the Zubmariner from the Sunken River ES, as someone no-nonsense in a way Sam really respected and found attractive, but who also has people she cares about. She might be too cool to fall for this soggy loser, though, and the chances of her turning out to be a lesbian seem high. (Also Sam left her behind…. that's a choice he regrets, and I kinda wanna replay that story at some point, with the idea of him actually trying to go back for her). But in general, the idea of Samuel marrying a principled pirate where they both know their first love will always be the zee feels like something that could turn out to be a genuinely happy partnership for him. BUT WHO KNOWS maybe in a year I'll come back with a totally different answer I never saw coming.

The Keen-eyed Chemist - Kelly Connolly

Chemist and sometimes nurse at the Grand Geode, Kelly's jobs are numerous and wide-ranging. He prepares medicines. He tests incoming food shipments for poisons. He invented a method to check the colour of fabrics to ensure his fellow Sequencers' outfits are actually matching because everyone on this damn island sees in shades of gold. Oh, and he invented HRT for his daughter. It's well-known that before the Sequence, he had been a grifter selling fake cure-alls, but those days are far behind him. In the Dawn Machine's radiance, he has learned to thrive rather than merely survive, and his habit of making silly little potions developed into actual skill as a scientist. Kelly joined the New Sequence nearly two decades ago after a chance meeting with @zeebreezin's Laurence. He needed to flee London, he needed a reliable job, and he needed support for his daughter. The Sequence promised that, and more. He's never looked back.

The Affable Ensign - Bríd Connolly

Bríd is Kelly's daughter, first and foremost. She was raised on the Grand Geode from a young age, and as far as she's concerned, it's been lovely. She's bubbly and curious and always happy to help. She's tried out a lot of jobs at the Geode so far, and she hasn't found her place yet, but she's sure she'll figure it out eventually! Next on her list: a term serving aboard Captain Trieu's ship and then a visit to London.

ehuEHEHUEHEUH I'm so glad you decided to ask about my little guys!!! I rarely post OC content but I do have some little guys running around in my brain and I'm happy to talk about 'em :)

So for a quick like. Intro. I've got two little guys so far. Ace la Rose (she/her) is my main (Nemesis) and Serenity Prince(he/they) is my alt (Bag A Legend!). I have not completed either ambition lmao.

Ace is primarily a hedonist bohemian, does Correspondance when she's not working at her tavern. Persuasive and Watchful. Serenity is a monster hunter who lives in the marshes. Dangerous and Watchful.

I think this question is very obvious for Ace in my brain. She came down to the Neath to find who killed her old lover—but the person who came down and the person she is today are so vastly different that they might as well be separate people. (They even go by different names) She'd forget her old lover if she could, and she'd forget the person she was before. Still, she's going through with Nemesis anyway because she feels like she owes it to herself. One last promise to her other self, one she intends to keep before killing her off for good.

If she could remember something—I think it'd be a measure of certainty for her. She still remembers memories of meeting her current spouse (The Vicomte de V_____, a character from the Exceptional Story Caveat Emptor. also you can't actually marry him but shhhhh) but she'd do anything she could to hang onto those memories forever. Everything else she's known is inconsequential in her mind.

For Serenity, I think they'd want to remember what it's like to be human. Again, not something he's forgotten, but that's something he never wants to lose. It's very easy to become something monstrous yourself when you're going down the path that they are. It's entirely possible that by the end of it, physically, they won't be fully human anymore. Even so, they never want to lose themself. If it's not possible to preserve the body, then at least in the mind and soul.

And he'd personally like to forget how he happened to meet Lady la Rose. It's not a terrible horrible memory, but it's deeply embarrassing. (Assumed there was a monster in her tavern. Broke and entered to hunt it. They got caught. Turns out there wasn't. There's still some weird shit happening there, but no one there he needs to kill or contain. All was well in the end, but he's still very embarrassed about it.)
