As a Mighty Nein lover, is there anything you want out of the animated series in particular that perhaps wasn't seen or was unemphasized in the improv of the game when obviously no one was aware what paths we'd go down/what would become important later? Any moments you wonder how they'll portray *without* the framework of the dnd game?
I also generally wonder if m9 shipass discourse/whatever weird entitlement ppl had to the official character designs not fitting their headcanons will end up reviving, but largely i feel like the ppl who were stupid about that kind of thing hated the backhalf of c2 so soundly that it would take a deep delusion that "no for sure they'll change the plot" or a true self hatred for them to watch the animation, and ppl coming in WITH the animation likely are going to grab the telegraphed relationships much more soundly since they understand it as Written. (Please tell me if I'm wrong bc I only picked up m9 maybe in the ep50 mark and got involved in fandom spaces much later, but I feel like the weird piss of the fandom got intolerably bad mostly after the covid hiatus? Where ppl had no content for months and created an echo chamber of headcanon while forgetting that the campaign was about anything. This might still happen between animated series seasons but I think people cannot complain anymore that the source material is source material-ing.)
Hi anon,
I don't have any specific wishes. I'm excited that we'll see a little bit from before the campaign, as the Fjord and Jester animatic indicates; would love to see that for Veth and Caleb, and Molly and Yasha as well. Otherwise off the top of my head there isn't really much that we didn't see I really feel the need to see? I like the Briarwoods flashback in TLOVM but there's not a ton in C2 that benefits from turning the camera onto NPCs like that, for example. Maybe a brief Avantika and Vandran moment? Perhaps Essek stealing the beacon? But honestly one of the remarkable things about C2 was that there were so many weird happy coincidences that it accidentally had a lot of foreshadowing you could not have planned.
I've said this a bunch about C3 and some of the ongoing conversations about the gods before but it's relevant here as well: I generally assume that in a fandom space, there will be discourse. There is nothing so clear and obviously telegraphed that someone who's decided to stick their fingers in their ears and harden their heart and turn off their brain cannot ignore or disregard. There are still, to this day, after Fjord and Jester failed to break up in episode 141, the Mighty Nein Reunited, or Echoes of the Solstice and in fact got engaged, and Beau and Yasha are married and Caleb and Essek refer to each other as partners, people who insist that Caleb or Beau and Jester were "supposed" to be endgame but for (unstated nebulous cause that they will not deign to describe because if they do so, there are pretty obvious holes one could poke in it) and I think it's been pretty clearly signaled. People thought that TLOVM would have a Vex and Keyleth romance because of a single frame when they were next to each other. You could have the entire Critical Role cast on camera go "here are the endgame relationships" and someone would be like "well, but what if that was a bluff." I think there might be less discourse among new fans but I do not think there will be none.
For what it's worth, while I do think C2 ship discourse was pretty awful and was exacerbated by a combination echo chamber and the general mood of 2020 and early 2021, I think C3 discourse is, while perhaps less harassment-focused, in much more bad faith. Like, ship discourse can get nasty and awful, don't get me wrong, but I feel like most people involved were either reading things that weren't there specifically about ships but were pretty reasonable about the plot (at least not until very, very late in the game) and I feel like they were genuine fans of Critical Role and had a decent sense of the world and the lore and just. went absolutely nuts and started sending harassment because their blorbos did not kiss and/or get resurrected. Whereas I feel like the worst of C3 discourse involves people who came in with little understanding of D&D nor the world and frankly a decent amount of derision towards everything that came before, proceeded to show up in a clown wig screaming "LISTEN UP FIVES, A TEN IS SPEAKING", promptly shit themselves and started crying, and now are not just wondering why few people like them or taking them seriously but are also throwing out whatever random-ass accusations they think will stick as they sit in the detritus of their increasingly incorrect predictions.
Anyway this is all to say whenever someone is like "surely this revision will prevent fans from interpreting art in a stupid way" my response is "I believe that some people are innovating in the field of stupid interpretations; do what makes you happy and acknowledge that they will always exist."
also, while i'm running my mouth before i go run errands, this is just a blanket statement re character designs and headcanons. (the "you" here is obviously not at anon, but rather the people they described). If you wish a character looked different than their canonical depiction, great. No one is stopping you. If you think canon exists to validate your headcanons, it doesn't. If you think people online saying "I don't like a headcanon" is stopping you from doing anything, it isn't. If you pitch fits about either of those things, you are a self-absorbed child. And if you are really attached to all of your diverse headcanons and yet never seem to gravitate towards characters who are canonically portrayed with those same identities, a whole lot of people are side-eyeing you.

Ship Game
I was tagged by the ever delightful @nevertothethird, thank you Suzanne ✨ The rules were to answer each question with a gif with no repeats, and because I am That Bitch who hates the aesthetic of text posts with gifs, and also because I am off work sick and need something to distract me, I decided to spend far too much time making this into a full gif-set, with explanations below the cut.
1. First Ship ↳ Usagi/Mamoru (Sailor Moon)
The gif is from Sailor Moon Crystal rather than the original anime because it’s higher quality, but I distinctly remember watching the original when I was around six years old and being so mad because Mamoru (or Darien, as he was in the US dub) was going on a date with Rei when he was supposed to be with Usagi, and how did they not know this!? I’ve loved them ever since, both manga and anime versions - their literal star-crossed lovers, forbidden romance and second chance through reincarnation is beautiful. Mamoru is also a good part of the reason I’m weak for dark haired, blue-eyed boys, I swear.
2. First OTP ↳ Sabrina/Harvey (Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
I mean, technically I think this should also be Usagi/Mamoru but since we’re not allowed repeats let’s go to another early favourite from my childhood. I’m so glad that they did end Sabrina with her and Harvey together, because I was devastated when they broke them up (as if Harvey would break up with her because she’s a witch!) and Harvey left for a couple of seasons. Part of the reason I decided not to watch The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was because it seems like they’re messing with Sabrina and Harvey as a couple and I cannot deal with a universe where they aren’t soulmates.
3. Current Fave Ship ↳ Cloud/Aerith (Final Fantasy 7)
I fell in love with this ship when I first played the original game as a kid, and playing the remake last year has reawakened all my feelings for them and I’ve spent a lot of time in recent months being sad about the lack of content for them. I just love their dynamic and the development of their relationship, and I am trying not to get my hopes up too much that Square Enix might give them a happy ending this time around, but . . .
4. Your Ship Since the First Minute ↳ Fjord/Jester (Critical Role)
It took me a good half to two-thirds of Campaign 1 to really get into shipping so I expected it to be the same with Campaign 2, but the dynamic between Fjord and Jester hit me like a ton of bricks within the first few episodes and I was hooked. It’s been amazing watching their relationship develop over the course of the campaign along with their characters, and I cannot wait to see where they go next.
5. Ship You Wish Had Been Endgame ↳ Jackson/April (Grey’s Anatomy)
There is absolutely nothing that will convince me that until Krista Vernoff, who has a personal dislike of the ship, took over as showrunner, that the intention was not for a Jackson/April endgame. When I watched Season 14 it seemed to me that there was a foundation for a Jackson/April reunion storyline that had been pulled apart and changed to individual arcs that fit Vernoff’s preferences, and I will never not be mad at how April’s character was regressed and written out. I suppose until Grey’s finally ends there’s always hope but I don’t have much of it.
6. Ship You Wish Was Canon ↳ Harry/Luna (Harry Potter)
Anyone who has spent more than a modicum of time on my blog should not be at all surprised by this. I’ve loved Harry and Luna’s dynamic for years, I think it brings out the best for both their characters and that there was so much untapped potential there that would have been so interesting and wonderful to see develop. They are a ship that’s very near and dear to my heat, and I’m also very proud to have converted my mother into a shipper.
7. Ship that Most of the Fandom Hates, but You Love ↳ Emma/Neal (Once Upon A Time)
In all honesty I have spent a lot of my time actively avoiding the OUAT fandom, and I dropped out of this show half way through Season 3, so I may be being unfair in my assessment here but it certainly felt like this ship and its shippers were subjected to an unwarranted amount of vitriol back in the day. Personally I was fascinated by this ship for its parallels and its Persuasion-like, but also by the way it was written into the very fabric and foundation of the show. I gave up on OUAT for a lot of reasons, and one of them was what I felt was the wasted potential of both this ship and Neal as an individual character.
8. You Don’t Even Watch the Show, but You Ship It ↳ Michael/Maria (Roswell New Mexico)
I watched all of about 3 episodes of this show and gave up, but every now and then I brave the Miluca tag to see some gifsets of these two. From what I saw their chemistry was top notch, and they’d captured the banter and friendship that made me love Michael and Maria in the OG series, but the show itself didn’t grab me and I was wary of Julie Plec’s involvement. Judging by the gifsets since they have unsurprisingly been done dirty in the show but I still ship them.
9. Ship That You Wish Had a Different Storyline ↳ Lucas/Maya (Girl Meets World)
My general feeling is that Michael Jacobs was relying too much on getting a fourth season of GMW to tie up the storylines, and that had he done so we would have seen Lucas and Maya find their way back to one another and a lot of the S3 storyline picked apart. As it is, with just the three canon seasons, their character arcs are deeply unsatisfying, and their relationship written off with a thoroughly nonsensical explanation. I wish they’d been given something more and better - Maya allowed to grow as a character and Lucas given more depth, and their relationship allowed to blossom. I have a few half-written scenes from a fic that vaguely follows the canon storyline and attempts to do what I think S4 would have done that may eventually see the light of day.
10. Fave Ship That’s Endgame ↳ Steve/Peggy (MCU)
Got to love a bit of a pun . . . but also I adore this ship with all my heart and, having never expected them to have a happy ending, the fact that they are endgame still gives me so much joy. They’ve gone from being a beautiful but angst-filled ship to one of my happiest ships, and I love rewatching their stories and seeing them come full circle. Also, the Steggy friends I’ve made here are some of my favourite people and the Steggy fandom is one of the nicest I’ve been part of; it really is just a ship that’s brought me a lot of smiles.
I’m tagging @beautifulwhensarcastic, @thesokovianaccords, @jedbartlet, @misscrawfords, @youareiron-andyouarestrong and of course my partner-in-memeing @theawkwardterrier to have a go if they want to! (Though obviously you do not have to make a full gifset . . .) 😘
#about me#tag game#ship game#this was fun!#and probably says a lot about my shipping preferences#also there are a couple of these I could go on full fledged rants about#but I have restrained myself!!

Civilized Scandinavia
We swore we wouldn’t go to Europe. But what use is a trip around the world if you can’t follow you heart? And when our planned destination (Turkey) became too volatile (and we were also under budget thanks to our finance department and this blog), we decided that both of us should pick one place to finish our trip. Ryan picked Scandinavia.
Scandinavia is a region in Northern Europe that includes Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Our summer timing worked perfectly with their best season, and we planned a 10-day blitz that was very different from our normal meandering style. We simply couldn’t say no.
We started at one of their best cities: Copenhagen, Denmark. Every corner of Copenhagen looks like a photo from a postcard or quaint travel book. Cheerfully colored buildings with beautiful waterways and harbor, Copenhagen serves not just as Denmark’s capital but as its cultural center and most populated city.
We started with a boat tour to get a general outline of the city and geography. It was the perfect day to soak up the sunshine and overall civilized behavior of this place. Of course in a RTW Lovers signature move, next we rented bikes for our own tour. Biking is an absolute must in Copenhagen. The old streets are a delight to explore, plus no pesky hills! The architecture is gorgeous with the fantastically preserved old city juxtaposing the decidedly modern new buildings. Both were a wonder to behold, and buildings are free to walk into and admire (the Royal Danish Playhouse and the Library being our favorite).
Next we went to the very hip Street Food Market for delicious and eclectic dining. Super fun and a definite must, but moving at this pace was delightfully exhausting!
Our favorite tourist attraction was the Rosenborg Castle and Gardens. Originally built in 1606, the artifacts and antiques are as fascinating as the castle itself. The collection holds a glimpse into Danish royalty, and the crown jewels alone are worth the visit. To say nothing of the gorgeous gardens, which attract an estimated 2.5 million visitors per year.
Copenhagen holds a crazy 15 Michelin-starred restaurants. Of course, we had to try one! We chose PONY, where the approach to food is simple in composition but WOW in taste. Much more to our preference than some of the more modern and micro options, which we simply aren’t cool enough to appreciate (plus Blakely gets too hungry!).
Unfortunately, we had to keep moving, so we hopped a train (our favorite) to Stockholm where we had one of Ryan’s favorite museums of the ENTIRE trip (yes). The Vasa Museum.
The Vasa Museum is a maritime museum that displays an almost completely intact 17th century warship. The ship sank on its maiden voyage in the harbor (ouch), and that misfortune allowed for the boat to be salvaged and displayed for maritime nerds like us. The 64-gun warship Vasa is ginormous and impossible to photograph with any justice. There are six levels of viewing, with exhibits on each level to give more information on the construction, archeological findings, sinking and recovery of the ship. Pirate Ryan was in heaven!
Sweden has an insane number of museums, and we luckily got to visit two more. The first was Fotografiska, which holds all notable photography in Sweden. The collections had an incredible range, which makes each section even more interesting. While we were there, one of the visiting exhibitions was Nick Brandt’s African Ghost Animals, which allowed us to reflect on the beginning of our trip and the provocative world that Africa holds. While living in one culture and reflecting on its opposite, it was humbling and exhilarating to appreciate our experience in both.
We also went to the Nobel Museum to learn about the fascinating award. It all started with Alfred Nobel, who’s grant is the only reason the prize exists today. There are interviews and exhibits on the prominent Nobel prize winners like Martin Luther King, Jr and Albert Einstein, as well has rotating exhibits featuring the winners of one category and a perspective on why they won. So cool.
Next, we hopped a train for our shortest stop of Scandinavia to Oslo, Norway’s capital and most populated city. Of course we took a trip to the Munch Museum to see The Scream by Edvard Munch. You also have to go to the Oslo Opera House to take in the spectacular modern architecture meant to look like an iceberg!
Next, we took a train to Aurland, Norway to experience the gorgeous fjords that Scandenavia boasts. The landscape here is simply spectacular thanks to huge icebers cutting through the landscape a million years ago. We got set up with a captain who conducts tours of the fjords. The captain made us an interesting offer: Model some Norwegian sweaters for Chinese tourists, and I’ll give you a free tour. So yes, we modeled some Norwegian sweaters and got a free tour!
Worth it.
Next, we took a hike on our own, and we swear that the Norwegian air added years to our life! Ryan even took a dip!
Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay in this paradise forever, so we headed to our last stop Bergen, Norway. In Bergen, we stayed at an Air BNB with another couple who were easy suit mates. While we unpacked, our host had a friend over to watch the soccer match. We got to listen to our Cuban host debate socialism with his Norwegian friend. It was FASCINATING to hear two opposing views on socialism from two people who otherwise got along so well. And indicative of one of the biggest lessons of our trip. The world’s issues are complicated. And very intelligent people will strongly disagree simply because they have different backgrounds and objectives. There is rarely a definitive and simple right answer, no matter how comforting simplicity may be.
Bergen is a gorgeous old city, and the perfect end to our stay, as it offers all of the charm and natural beauty of Scandinavia. We enjoyed a café, took an amazing hike, and ended the day with Norwegian salmon!
Next stop: Blakely’s choice, FRANCE!

South Georgia is the most beautiful place on earth
I know, I know, I know. Bold statement or what.
Once I had a boyfriend who used to make fun of me when were traveling because everywhere we went, apparently I always exclaimed “wow, this is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been!”
In my defense, I meant it every single time.
Surely this was, in fact, the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen with my two eyes, that is, until, I went somewhere else equally or more beautiful. But I digress.
Now seriously, you’ve got to trust me when I now say, I have truly found the most beautiful place on planet earth. Or at least the most beautiful place I’ve ever laid eyes on.
No, no. Don’t argue.
And it’s not Antarctica. It’s South Georgia.
*throws down the gauntlet*
No, not the south of the American state of Georgia, that would just be silly. No offense to southern Georgians, of course, which I’m sure is a delightful and beautiful too.
This time I am referring to the very cold and remote subantarctic island of South Georgia in the South Atlantic Ocean. A British overseas territory. Human population: 20. Penguin population: several million.
Also known as the most beautiful place on the entire planet Earth.
If you still find yourself skeptical after the whole “millions of penguins” comment, read on, dear ones.
Now I know what you’re thinking, how can South Georgia be the most beautiful place on earth if it isn’t plastered all over Instagram or I can’t even find it on a map?
Solid question. Respect.
There are still many stunning pockets of this world that few make the journey to or venture out in search of, and South Georgia is definitely one of them.
As an avid fan and collector of unusual and remote destinations, South Georgia has been at the top of my list for a very long time; it’s one of those rare places that when you meet someone who has been there, they can’t stop talking about it.
I’ve joined the club.
Perhaps one of the most remote islands on earth, South Georgia is approximately 2,100 kilometers off the coast of South America. Pretty much the only way to access South Georgia is by expedition ship from Argentina going down to Antarctica.
You have to want to go badly.
Quark Expeditions voyages to South Georgia every year and I was lucky enough to join them last summer on an adventure that also included visiting the Falkland Islands.
The curious story of the Falkland Islands
For many Antarctica is the bucketlist spot, and I can see why since it was also mind for a long time. But reflecting back on a month down under, I can safely say that I would do anything to go back to South Georgia instead.
So, what makes South Georgia the most beautiful place on earth?
Five simple reasons.
It has the best landscapes, the best wildlife, the most crazy weather, the most fascinating history and of course, by default, it’s sheer inaccessibility.
Now come with me on a visual story, a photographic journey with words (is that a thing?) as I try to convince you that South Georgia is, in fact, the most beautiful place on earth. Enjoy!
Falklands (Malvinas) and South Georgia: Islands of the Southern Ocean
1. South Georgia has the most incredible, wild landscapes
One of my first impression of South Georgia was how awestruck I was by the jagged mountains that seemingly jut out straight from the sea, towering above you. Stark and wild, seemingly barren except for birds and glaciers galore, the views are imposing and magnificent.
As a serious lover of mountains, South Georgia was next level beautiful. Everything about the views around South Georgia screamed power and wilderness. A long and narrow island almost 200 kilometers long, the mountain run like a spine the length of South Georgia with many dropping down into the sea with many fjords and bays along the coastline.
South Georgia really felt like polar tundra meets the Alps. With penguins.
But perhaps what surprised me the most was how lush parts of it can be. While it doesn’t have trees, it’s still quite green, tussock covered mountains and beaches everywhere, not the white void that is Antarctica.
The landscapes are some of the best I’ve ever seen in the world, no exaggeration. It’s like New Zealand or Iceland times a million. And it’s everywhere. There are no bad views. Oh hey, another incredible glacier. Oh, another one. And another one, and wow, look at those mountains.
Honestly my face hurt from smiling so much. And from the wind too. But I’ll get to that in a minute.
2. The sheer abundance of wildlife
If you love animals and wildlife, well South Georgia is the place for you! I have never been anywhere with such a stunning array of wild animals packed in close proximity with each other and in such huge quantities.
Most of our birdlife here in New Zealand is threatened and endangered from introduced predators and if you see a few penguins, wow, that’s pretty special and you’re quite lucky.
On South Georgia you have to be careful where you walk to make sure you don’t step one; penguins, seals, and all manner of birds are everywhere. With its rich beaches for wildlife breeding grounds, on an expedition to South Georgia with a level of wildlife encounters not possible anywhere else, especially now since rats were eradicated this year.
Seabirds galore, albatross rub shoulders with skua and other rare seabirds while the beaches are covered with fur seals, noisy elephant and several types of penguins numbering in the thousands.
The wildlife in South Georgia is out of this world, and much more dynamic and bigger than in Antarctica. It’s noisy, loud and colorful, not exactly what you might imagine when you picture a remote and rugged island in the middle of the South Atlantic. It’s here on South Georgia where you have the possibility of intimate encounters with wildlife.
The Quark expedition team who guides you there give incredible talks about the animals and you’re briefed about keeping your distance and how to behave with them.
Falklands (Malvinas) and South Georgia: Islands of the Southern Ocean
But the penguins and seals don’t follow the rules. I found if I say down for a while and just observed them, someone would come up to me to have a look at this strange creature in a yellow jacket.
And let me just say, being surrounded by curious king penguins on a beach with glaciers behind you and seals in front of you is not something you will ever forget.
3. Crazy weather unlike anything you’ve seen before
We arrived near Prion Island before sunrise on South Georgia; frothing with excitement,I was up while it was still dark and before the expedition team made any announcements on board. Curious, I opened the door to the outer deck.
Well, better said I TRIED to open the door to the outer deck, but got it open about a foot before it slammed back and I was nearly blown over with a wild howling wind unlike I’ve heard before.
Welcome to South Georgia!
If it were sunny and tropical, everyone would be there, right?
Hmm now I know what you’re thinking, how does crazy weather make a place beautiful? Hear me out.
For me, there is real beauty in wild and unpredictable weather. From stunning rays of sunlight beaming between rain clouds to katabatic winds whipping up the seas across the bay and unusual cloud formations, to even warm still sunny days that make you want to take your coat off, the polar climate of South Georgia really reminds you of where you are, humbles and intrigues.
4. Wow, what a history!
It’s generally assumed that South Georgia was discovered around 1675 during a sailing exploration and was named by Captain Cook (oh hey) a century later, whose descriptions of the enormous fur seal colonies brought sealers over in droves who almost decimated the seal population within a century.
A completely inhospitable land, few have every tried to settle on South Georgia, except for the hardy sealers and whalers of yesteryear.
Request a quote to adventure to the Falklands and South Georgia with Quark Expeditions today!
At the turn of the century, South Georgia sadly became the whaling hub of the Antarctic by Norwegians, decimating the world’s whale population. Six stations were built along the coast and almost 200,000 whales were estimated to be killed here in about 60 years before they were protected.
The scars of the whaling industry still remain on South Georgia, with bones still bleached white on the beaches and the rusted abandoned stations sitting dull red on the horizon.
South Georgia is also the place where Ernest Shackleton ended up after the most incredible open sea rescue journey in history, and you can visit his grave at Grytviken, the only old whaling station that’s been cleaned up and is visitable, complete with a post office and very cool museum.
South Georgia’s history is brutal and fascinating, and easily visible today.
5. Its utter remoteness
The real beauty of South Georgia for me lies in its sheer remoteness.
Thousands of miles away for any real civilization, every moment here you’re reminded that you have made the journey to the ends of the earth. Unlike Antarctica, very few expedition ships sail this way, leaving its wildlife and landscapes relatively unknown.
In South Georgia you’re guaranteed experiences that will shake you to your very core, that will inspire you and bring you to tears with its beauty. It’s by far the most incredible place I’ve ever been and I’m itching to go back already.
Is it time yet?
Book the Falklands and South Georgia today and use promo code LIZ150 for $150 onboard credit that can be used for purchases on board at the polar gift shop, or, cough cough, the bar
Have you heard of South Georgia? Do you dream of seeing the penguin colonies there too? Are you a fan of voyaging to remote places? Share!

Many thanks to Quark Expeditions for helping get me to South Georgia. Like always, I’m keeping it real, all opinions are my own, like you could expect less from me!

Things You Should Not Miss In Patagonia
Patagonia is famed for epic landscapes that are unrivaled anywhere else on earth, include resplendent lakes, waterfalls, mountains and, especially, glaciers. Some tours are within just one of the countries while others take you through some of the best areas of both. Each location has something slightly different to experience. Diego Silva tells us about Patagonia tours by land vs. cruise Ship.
There are a few different cruise options, but if you want to explore some of the best parts of Patagonia, I highly recommend the Australis cruise. The Australis Cruise leaves from either Ushuaia in Argentina or Punta Arenas in Chile. If you choose to take a cruise that departs from Argentina into Chile, then you will need to fly into Ushuaia, also known as the southernmost city in the world. Ushuaia is not only an important port city for Argentina, but it is also a beautiful place to visit. I recommend flying into the city a few days before your cruise departs so that you can visit Tierra del Fuego National Park. It is just simply nature at its best! South America Travel
Boating on the Amazon can offer the tourists with a chance to experience whatever the incredible area includes. In addition to amazing variety of species under animal and bird population, the lives of the indigenous people can also be experienced. For more information on Patagonia Travel, visit this site... When it comes to world adventure, and unspoiled lands you don't get much more awe-inspiring than the wilderness of Patagonia. Sat in the southern region of Chile and into Argentina, there is a special bond between this place and adventurers. So, if you're after thriving settler communities, glacier-topped mountains or crystal lakes in wild grassland then a trip here is something that is sure to capture your imagination. The admin of Adventure Life gave us some intersting places name.
Torres del Paine, Chile - Patagonia's most photographed panoramas are a legendary, world-class trekking and nature-lovers' destination. Surrounded by towering granite cliffs, blue glaciers, crystal clear lakes, raging rivers and abundant wildlife, a trip to Torres del Paine will yield a lifetime of memories. El Calafate, Argentina - See a glacier crumbling and crashing into the water below at Perito Moreno glacier. This and multitudes of glaciers in Glacier National Park afford breathtaking vistas and opportunities for adventure. Your evenings are spent in luxurious lodges and historic estancias in Calafate and the surrounding countryside. Chalten, Argentina - Trekkers and climbers rejoice in the massive granite spires of the towering Fitz Roy Range and expansive ice-scapes of Glacier National Park. Ushuaia, Argentina - At the “End of the world” and hailed as the world's southernmost city, you’ll find the charming port city of Ushuaia where most cruises to Antarctica depart. Experience Fjords, glaciers falling into the sea and remote wildlife on a cruise between Punta Arenas and Ushuaia. Adventure Life
Whether you have a greater interest in wildlife or landscapes, or prefer an adventure that includes both, you won't lack for possibilities in Patagonia. Trekking, mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, horseback riding or any combination of these can be used as methods for exploring the region. Argentinian Patagonia is a colossal and truly enthralling landscape of almost mystical beauty. This mystical feeling is highly magnified in the wonderful Glaciers National Park where one can embark on a boat tour in order to see the amazing scene wherein enormous rivers of ice slide past the mountain tops and shift towards sea level. It would be a shame to go to Patagonia in Argentina and not see glaciers. The admin of Destination 360 tells us some important things about Patagonia glaciers.
Covering more than two thousand square miles, more than 350 stunning Patagonia glaciers are located in famous Los Glaciers National Park. The protected area is a major tourist attraction situated in Santa Cruz province, attracting thousands of travelers annually. This World Heritage site includes only two areas accessible to tourists including Perito Merino Glacier and the Fitz Roy Mountain area close to the town of Chalten. The two most famous glaciers in Patagonia are Upsala and Perito Merino, best seen by taking one of the region’s exciting cruises. Destination 360
You should plan your trip sometime within the Argentine summer season, between December and February. Another sensible way of planning your trip is to conduct it in November or in March. Hence, you will be able to do all the glacier trips without facing severe weather or huge crowds. Check out this video to know more about Patagonia:

Top 5 Islands To Visit
Islands are cool. They just are. Perhaps we’re bias as an island nation but they definitely have a pull over the imagination. From lost civilisations and once thought extinct animals, to pirate stranding, ship wreck survivors and endemic rare species, islands boast a wide range of allures. Here are our top 5 islands to visit.
1. Iceland
A good way to describe Iceland would be that if you are a landscape photographer there, you have the world’s easiest job. Fjords, glaciers, geysers, tundra volcanoes and icebergs are generously littered all over this north Atlantic island hiding new mysteries round every corner. Rich in Nordic history with fantasy creatures all over the shop, Iceland is becoming popular for people with one foot in each camp of traveller and tourist. Reykjavik is a colourful (literally) and energetic capital nowadays and, while a touch on the expensive side, can’t fail to entertain you. Iceland is baffling and brilliant and enticing to the extreme.

2. Bali
One of Indonesia’s island provinces, Bali is a gem of Asian culture that has yet to get the credit it deserves. This is South East Asia at its finest, bursting with rice paddy fields, local markets, tropical beaches and jungles, temples, culture and endless colour. Bali has so much on offer to do and see that you can’t possibly be bored but you better hurry, as the area is growing in popularity from the rest of the world.
It’s fast becoming a popular holiday destination but the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere make it impossible to be like just another tourist. Indonesia as a whole can provide a lot to the ethical traveller with community and conservation projects scattered all over the country, including Bali. Whatever your needs for your next adventure, Bali has it.

3. New Zealand
Two islands for the price of one here. New Zealand is well regarded as a travel destination with its immensely varied landscapes, endless activities to get involved in and friendly, welcoming community. In many respects closer to its remote south Pacific island cousins than to Australia, New Zealand is historic, enchanting and able to offer something for everyone which is not something just anywhere can boast.
Fans of the great outdoors are most at home here though as the country actively encourages and facilities any kind of outdoor pursuit you can imagine and for a, relatively, small sample of land it can offer any kind of landscape for those activities to take place. Friendly people, relaxed lifestyle and plenty on offer are all the reasons you need to go. For the varying types of traveller out there, you can also get a variety of work, volunteer and holiday visas for New Zealand, further opening up the diversity of what you can do.

4. Bora Bora
Part of the Society Islands of French Polynesia, Bora Bora is fast becoming quite touristy. However its remoteness in the South Pacific still makes it a travellers paradise rather than crawling with site seers. Going viral recently, Bora Bora is famous for its population of pigs who love taking a dip in the sea, something you can take part in yourself.
Bright white sand beaches are the theme here as Bora Bora is the poster child for that iconic Bounty advert look. Hotels on stilts offshore, jungles and reefs are just some of the attractions of Bora Bora where the pace of life is so slow that they don’t seem to understand the concept of time. Definitely an island to check out.

5. Galapagos Islands
Everyone’s heard of the Galapagos. Thanks to the works of Charles Darwin, the Galapagos are of huge significance to natural history. Famous for Tortoises, lizards, penguins, seals and a mass of bird species, the Galapagos are a must for the nature lover in you. Remote, relatively under developed and off the beaten track, the Galapagos Islands aren’t for the faint hearted given their exposure to the elements and rugged terrain.
If you’re heading over there then one of the main attractions would be seeing a Galapagos Giant Tortoise, the largest species of Tortoise on the planet. Evoke the David Attenborough in your with a trip to the legendary Galapagos.

Islands are like a condensed, intense version of what you can get in larger areas. All the same thrill and enjoyment in a small and manageable area, what’s not to like! These are our favourites, have we left any off?
