Las Vegas 2023
-This whole race was on YouTube!!
-Saw Logan in the intro and immediately lost it
-It feels so weird watching this in such clear definition
-“This town has waited 40 years for the pinnacle of Motorsport to return” On a Saturday night??
-Such a unique track shape fr
-Yuki P20?!??!
-Ohmygod, why are the McLaren in the back of the grid
-I’m going to cry, Logan p6
-Someone take me back to 2023 and make me watch this qualifying live
-“It is the childhood rivalry at the front of the field”
-So many celebrities in the garages
-Oooh the Alpha Tauri livery and the Ferrari rear wing! Hope those designers got a raise
-Ohmygod not even a second in and they’re both off the track
-I just watched Logan lose a place and make it back up, I’m never recovering from this
-VSC and everyone in the pits
-“Max I think we’re happy to say that you were ahead when you went off the track, happy to stay there” “Of course I was ahead” Confidence is so sexy
-“This needs to be addressed now. It is a joke if he keeps the position.” The rivalry is rivalry-ing
-Damn Yuki! P11!
-Oh shit Lando! That was so sudden! He must have hit that barrier really hard
-Ah yeah and looking at that replay? I wonder if he was injured
-Why do all the cars look so shiny
-Why wouldn’t the sphere just be showing live race results instead of the usual adverts?
-I love when all the cars zig zag behind the safety car, so cute
-“The question is, how early will Max bolt” “…And he’s gone already”
-Oh wow that overtake by Oscar?
-Feels like a lifetime ago, the last time I saw Carlos and Fernando fighting it out
-“Definitely looks like he’s on a rush on to get out of here” lol Max’ hate for Vegas is so real
-“Let’s go Lewis!” I say, five seconds before I realize the person he’s gone past is Yuki
-Five second penalty
-Why didn’t I start watching races last year? It’s not like I had anything else to obsess over then
-“Yeah that’s fine, send them my regards” Cold
-Ocon! Come on man, why’d you do that to Kevin
-Okay can’t even be mad about Oscar doing it too cause that was extremely cool
-Yes Kevin! He got back!
-And he’s lost it again
-Not Yuki falling back to last place
-“Carlos Sainz facing up against his childhood hero” It’s the race for childhood lores
-“Our first Saturday Grand Prix since 1985” Why??
-Seeing Logan and Zhou in the top 12. I am so extremely gutted to have not witnessed this live
-So many things happening everywhere in the track but all I can focus on is Logan in p6 and praying that he doesn’t fall too far back when he stops for tires
-Seeing Checo make up so many places also is making me feel a lot of feelings
-Don’t like seeing Daniel so far down :/
-Ocon! Come on not again! And on Logan?!
-Although…seeing Logan and Oscar right behind each other is definitely adds to the race of childhood lores
-Oh god can Logan at least stay in the points, he got passed by like three cars
-Oh Mercedes trying an undercut?
-“He looks like he might get this done on track”
-“I don’t think this is Max managing, this is Max under pressure “
-Love when Charles goes for it! That was amazing!
-Ohmygod there’s so much happening, I forgot about the penalty, also so many people coming in to box at the same time, the leaderboard is all mixed up now
-Lewis has a puncture?
-“There’s just so much action happening in this Grand Prix it’s difficult to follow it” Exactly!
-Holy shit Zhou p7?!
-“Car’s not stopping, *****” Haha the way that bollard flew off??
-The recovery drive from Checo though??
-Somehow Logan and Oscar have ended up one after another again
-Checo p2!
-I wonder how drivers who aren’t typically up front feel about having the chance to be at front during a race. Are they like “holy shit how am I running alongside the top three teams right now?” “Do I really have a Mercedes in my mirrors??”
-“As the world champion is on the charge begind him”
-Woah the speed at which he went past George??
-“Max Verstappen has the fastest lap of the race. Do not count him out of this one” I don’t think anyone can
-It’s so funny to me that Lance is p2. It’s giving Germany 2019 before he lost it in the end
-“Sainz, Russel, Verstappen” Honestly amazing how Carlos made it up there
-George and Max going past all cars ahead of them together. It’s almost like George is making way for him
-Oh bloody hell I spoke too soon, they’ve made contact
-“There’s Charles Leclerc making the pass on Lance Stroll”
-Red Bull double stack? Ooh yes!
-“This is what happens in a street circuit, they either behave themselves cause they’re worried about chaos or you get action for every minute”
-“Piastri is up 14 places”
-Can I just say, this safety car is so diva
-“Charles Leclerc has a new Red Bull to fight this time”
-“He just turned in onto my wheel. I guess he didn’t expect me to pass him there” The nonchalant confidence is even better
-“Late, late, late in the breaks, and later still for Oscar Piastri” Is it an Australian thing do we think?
-So cool seeing all the cars bunched up so close together
-“This is the resurgence of Sergio Perez” Yes! Let’s go!
-Ohmygod Checo!!
-Oh they are showing the race results on the sphere!
-Ah the Alpine’s are fighting
-Charles stuck in a Red Bull sandwich
-“Max Verstappen looking to demoralize the ones ahead even further” That’s so funny wth
-Ohmygod Charles how does one even make that pass??!
-“This is a three horse race” funnn
-“That’s one of those passes where I’m coming through or there’s going to be a lot of debris” it’s giving I’m not taking my leg of the pedal until I see god or the checkered flag
-🎶 Max! Max! Super Max! 🎶
-“Charles going right who is it? In the mirrors? It’s the world champion”
-“Let’s work together here. We can get him”
-✨Rihanna✨ (my brain just went blah blah proper name place name backstory stuff)
-“Stay with him. Double tow here. We work together” Damn that goes so hard
-The way the Red Bulls just switched around. Didn’t actually think Max was going to make it there actually
-The commentators: “Sainz, further back in the pack”
Me who has forgotten about every car but the top three: “Who?”
-“Hunt them down George” Oh alright then
-The way Carlos, Fernando, and Lewis went past Alex right after George did, that has got to hurt
-Woah Charles?? That was so unfortunate
-That was such bad strategy on McLaren parts wasn’t it? Why not change his tires to the right ones earlier?
-Haas, when I find you Haas
-Yuki?? There were like two laps left! What happened??
-“Bieber’s got the flag, has Leclerc got the move” Ha
-“Help to tow him along, might be useful” “Ok I’ll try”
-Charles actually might make it back to P2…He’s done it!!
-“He’s pulled it off. As he does. Max Verstappen finds a way to win”
-“Yes, let’s go guys, that was quite fun out there. At least I had fun”
-🎶 Vivaa Las Vegas 🎶
-“ Into the pit lane Max, or should I call you Elvis?” Haha
-Post race drivers>> (especially Logan) (I’m going to conveniently forget he didn’t end up in the points)
-Them being so confused by the post race spectacle of it all is so amusing
-Maxplaining and Leclarifying in full bloom
-“We go straight to the nightclub. Skip everything. See you tomorrow evening…or not!” He thinks he’s so funny
-“It was a nice race actually” It really was

What happened at the Australian Grand Prix:
The race starts in the rain
Iscac spins and crashes into the wall during the formation lap, resulting in a yellow flag and a safety car (after he returned to the paddock, Hamilton's dad comforts him)
During the Safety Car, Jack spins and loads in the middle of the track, it's the end of the race for him as well
It turns out that while we were focused on Doohan, Saiz also hit the wall (both out on 1 lap)
Max drives his wheels onto the gravel, causing Oscar to overtake him (18 lap)
After this incident, Max wants to change tyres, but GP tells him to hold on
Kimi spun but returned to the race immediately (23 lap)
Somewhere on lap 30, Piastri is asked to maintain his position behind Lando, who is in P1
The track is starting to dry
Around lap 33 to Oscar is said "Okay Oscar, you are free to race you know the rules"
Alonso drove onto the kerb, which caused him to spin and hit the wall and resulting in another yellow flag and the Safety Car (34 lap)
During this yellow flag, most pit and change to hard tyres, but Verstappen and Albon change theirs to medium
Around lap 38-39 it is said that the rain will come back and Ocon and Bearman change tyres to inters
On lap 43 the Safety Car ends and on lap 44 it starts to rain
Meanwhile Bortoleto is handed a five-second time penalty for an unsafe releases during the Safety Car
Suddenly, on lap 45, Lando leaves the track for a moment, but immediately comes back, but Oscar drives onto the grass and stops there for a long time, causing a yellow flag for a moment
As a result, Verstappen P1, Tsunoda P2, Hamilton P3, Gasly P4, Leclerc P5 and Lawson P6 Lando is in seventh place ahead of Russell and Albon
As the rain picks up on lap 47, Max pits for business and Hamilton takes over the lead but he is on medium tyres
In the process, Lawson slides on the kerb and hits the barriers, moments later something similar happens to Bortoleto, but his Saber is more damaged than Liam's car - the Safety Car appears again(48-49 Lap)
Thanks to this, they join the other 4 drivers out of the race
The race finishes with Lando in 1st place, Max in second and George in third
Antonelli has a five-second penalty for the unsafe released
Lando was the fastest and was chosen as the driver of the day
By winning he took the championship lead and it is the first time since 1029 days that someone other than Max Verstappen has led the championship
There is a possibility that Gabi's 5 second penalty will carry over to the next Grand Prix

⌕ race review!   ֢֢֢ ◝﹝bahrain [ 04/13/25 ]
🏎️_⠀ op81, cl16, gr63, pg10, ka12, ln4, mv1, cs55, lh44, & yt22 are the quali top 10!
i had to miss most of bahrain because i had a flight to catch 💔 but i was there for the start! and caught up to watch the rest just now ofc
lando that was INSANE, up 3 places instantly from p6? HE IS LOCKED IN 🔒 i’m convinced the farther lando is back on the grid, the better his start is
george quickly took it back and almost caught OSCAR in turn 1, who had a good start
jesus christ george what were you on today
JESUS LECHRIST WHAT HAPPENED TO CHARLES 😭 HE HAD P2 AND LOST IT TO HALF THE BRITISH ARMY
and then he spent the rest of the race defending like a maniac against them + the french. the nation of monaco knows no peace
Ollie gained like five positions in like one turn OMFG
Kimi babe we like to drive ON the track
and because this is MY race review, we are going to be discussing the disastrous kimi antonelli subplot in extensive detail
he was the only driver on a 3 stop strategy PITTING FOR SOFTS EACH TIME 💀
he lost so much time in the pits, came out into heavy DRS traffic every time, and the tires just kept wearing off from there as he tried to get by AND THEN got super unlucky with the timing of the safety car just after pitting for the softs (hence the 3 stop strategy)
but that overtake on max was just beautiful i could CRYY 😭he checked that item off the bucket list ✅
speaking of max he was NOT having a good time 💀
literally everything that could have gone wrong in that accursed redbull garage went wrong
strategy? flop. PIT LIGHTS? flop. car? what do YOU think 🫵
p6 was a miracle considering how close max was to a nervous breakdown
YUKI IN THE POINTS 🎉 he was dealing with the pit lights and terrible car, but at least the team had him on a better strategy than max 😬
vcarbs (isack) where did y’all go
i don’t even bother to ask about sauber anymore
the things that kimi must sacrifice for an op81 win 💔like yikes, flashbacks to the floor damage in china
nobody does a recovery drive like ollie bearman—10 places HELLO? His family’s radio was so cute
he and kimi fighting for p10 okay prema deja vu 😍
aston martin, i fear adrian newey is your only hope. not even alonso can save you now
how tf did george keep lando back with a car falling apart (transponder, drs, brakes, & dash) faster than oscar piastri’s lap times 👀 i was not familiar with your game
lewis dotd for being the only unproblematic driver in bahrain and consequently making up 4 places. fair tbh 🫡
as for charles, ferrari didn’t even really fuck up the strategy or the pit stops 😭
he fought sooo hard against EVERYONE for those positions, but i wonder what the race could have been like had he held onto the start
also because this is my MY race review, we are going to be discussing oscar piastri dominance in extensive detail
first mclaren driver on pole in bahrain? first mclaren driver to win in bahrain? AND BY 15 WHOLE SECONDS?
plus his lap times were SO FAST! he had 0.39 second a lap advantage ON AVERAGE to the next fastest driver
absolutely flawless race i could not be happier ☺️🫶
got to give lando his flowers though! he made it onto the podium (one for every race of the year)
i guess we have to talk about alpine -_-
finally scored some points via the french driver, and now every single f1 team has points!
jack was jumping ALL OVER the graphics, but eventually landed in p15 💔 i was really rooting for him
let’s review the penalties for today because they were being handed out like crazy: (1) 5-second penalty to ln4 for a false start, (2) 10-second penalty to cs55 for forcing ka12 off the track, (3) 5-second penalty to jd7 for exceeding track limits, (4) 5-second penalty to ll30 for a safety car infringement AND (5) 10-second penalty to ll30 for colliding with nh27
shockingly no ocon appearance
and this isn’t even including both mercs getting a 1-place grid penalty during quali for the pit exit
in another episode of the carlos sainz shakespearean-tragedy soap opera, he had to retire bc of damage from the yuki contact 😭 man shaved his entire body for an extra tenth of speed for a p8 in quali only to dnf from a literal black hole in the side of his car
guest star alex albon also had his own quali woes, but he made up a couple places 💅 you go girl
the graphics were actually driving me up the wall. pinnacle of motorsport my ass
i was following the bbc live report on my way to the airport, and it showed george disappearing from the time sheets. I THOUGHT BRO DNFED FOR A SOLID 2 MINUTES 😃 and then there were no places listed for any driver behind p10
there wasn’t a single overtake for the lead, and this was still the best race of the season, purely from entertainment pov alone! we got so much quality racing, overtakes, and unexpected results. I honestly loved seeing all the teams taking risks with strategies and trying different ones, regardless of how well they were executed on track
i couldn't be more excited to go into saudi next week! less than 15 points separating the top 4 drivers in the championship, and anything could happen

It's time to finish up this triple header. Down to Jeddah we go.
see comments below
marshedmellow: I swear if this turns into Red Bull becoming dominant again and they go on to win the champion I'm gonna lose it 🤬
> team44: More desperate for the Red Bull downfall than I am to get married.
> chuckleclerc: Max to crash in Turn 1 🙏
fivebuttons: I wanna see a different race winner tbh
> delulu: Same Vettel or Piastri would be amazing
florence4ever: Come on MAMA! Pole Position!

Think we look good in white.

crackedtoast: A special livery in Jeddah of all places 💀
drssupremacy: Why does Nico look stressed?
> bwoah: Because Audi gave him a podium and then fell off a cliff
sennatribute: Feel bad for Bortoleto. Was going to be wasted at Sauber and now is being wasted at Audi.
> delulu: Drugovich still has more points than him and it's insane
FRONT ROW for Ava Florence in Jeddah. Her first time ever racing in this circuit and she stood up to the challenge. She was dazzling quick on the corners, helped by the ferocious corner speeds of her car. However, it was not enough for the coveted pole position. She got a taste of what it was like in Japan and she was hungry for more. Yet...
MAX VERSTAPPEN WAS ON POLE. It was tracks like these had Max found a rhythm in. So, it was a no brainer that Max secured his second pole in a row in such a fashion. Sure, this season was going for him as well as he wanted. Perhaps this could be the turning point for him. Whatever this race will become, this is a nice first step for Verstappen's conquest for his fifth.

madmax: Two poles in a row! DU DU DUDU

AFTER LAST RACE Ava slid into her gridslot with a pound of pressure on her shoulder. She still has the lead off Lando, but it's never enough. Not until the flags fall and she's hailed as the World Champion will it be enough. So as she gets positioned on the front row, she takes a peering gaze at the orange car lining behind.
HENRY Ava, we've got Max ahead. We think he's on the same strategy as us so stick close to him.
"Welcome to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in 2025. Another race under the lights and so far, this track has give us nothing but action. Since its introduction we've got 3 different race winners. Max Verstappen is looking to keep it to three winners. He starts on pole. Let's have a look at this circuit. 50 laps on high-flying 6.17 km circuit, the lap record set by Lewis Hamilton in 2021. On the grid, it's Verstappen on pole followed by Ava Florence and then Lando Norris. But the dark horse here is Sebastian Vettel, looking for some redemption after what happened to him in Bahrain."
"And he'll certainly need it. McLaren are just three points behind Porsche. They benefited hugely from Russell crashing in Bahrain, who, by the way, is down in 16th after receiving his penalty."
"It's sure to be an exciting race, Martin, as now we've got five lights... and IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO! Good start by Max Verstappen, better start by Ava Florence. She's already zipping past the side. Behind Norris lost out on position from Sebastian Vettel and we've got a hayfield down and— OH we've got a big crash! That looks like an Alpine. And yes, it is... up ahead, Florence has already passed Verstappen. And now there's a safety car."
"Having another look at this. Yes, it's Jack Doohan and Isack Hadjar running into each other at the start. So both cars are stranded on the track so that's why the safety car was brought out."
"And that's not going to be great for Jack Doohan. There were rumors that he was to replaced after this race if he wasn't to perform. If that's the case, then we might not see Jack Doohan in the next round."
"Just unfortunate fate. It wasn't really anybody's fault. A racing incident, I think."
LAP 6:
"And after four laps behind the safety car, we're about to head back racing. Ava Florence will be leading the pack. She took the lead early from Verstappen. Here is the safety car coming in and... BACK RACING WE GO! Florence has a good restart, but Verstappen has a better one. They barrel into Turn 1, side by side, Verstappen on the outside. He gets past Florence. Verstappen regains his lead op Lap 5. Behind, it's still Vettel holding up Norris as how the threat of Charles Leclerc is rising."
"Florence couldn't do anything about that restart. She had a good line, but Verstappen was just much quicker out the exit. But if this has shown us anything is that Ava isn't going to back away even from the defending champion."
LAP 13:
"Out the DRS zone, Ava Florence gets right on Verstappen's gearbox. Oh dear, almost clips her front wing. Now, she's going to dive down the inside of the hairpin at Turn 27. She's pushing Verstappen wide and off she goes. Florence regains the lead of the Saudia Arabian Grand Prix. Magnificent stuff."
HENRY That's a good overtake, Ava. Let's now try to stay out as much as we can.
"It's only her first year, Crofty, but we've seen a very big improvement in her racecraft. When she overtakes, it's a bold and brave overtake, but she's very calculated with now. In Australia she was just sending her car at every moment she could so that caught her up in a lot of incidents. But now, she's timing her perfect chance. She waited 8 laps for this overtake."
LAP 19:
"Here's Sebastian Vettel coming into the pits. Both Porsche's started off with medium tires and Sebastian will go on the hard compounds. So, as expected, it's going to a one stopper. Florence still leading the race, but now Verstappen and Lando are in the mix as Lando has some clean air to try and get to Verstappen."
LAP 21:
"Norris and Verstappen. The two front runners for 2024, how battling for P2 in Jeddah in 2025. Red Bull has the speed on these fast corners, but Norris is much faster on the straights. He's going to get into the DRS zone and now it might be Norris who gets past Verstappen - No, Verstappen holds his own."
LAP 27:
"All this fighting between Verstappen and Norris is going great for Ava Florence. She's pumping fastest lap after fastest lap. She's ten seconds clear of the grid. Back with Norris, we ride on board as they sail through Turn 12. Wonderful shot of two cars here under lights as they wrap around Turn 13. Norris is just getting closer and closer. Very tricky portion of the track we head down to now."
"Verstappen has to just to keep racing like normal because it's not the easiest to overtake at Jeddah, especially on this sector. So Norris is going to have a hard time-"
"Hard time, but certainly not a long time. Norris tries to make the move down the inside, doesn't work- Oh, they have contact. And it's Norris going very slowly. Looks like he as puncture. That late lunge on Verstappen costed him heavily and now Sebastian Vettel is sailing past him. He moves into P3."
"And Norris is going to have to come into the pits. He might have just thrown away a prime podium position and given even more momentum to his championship rival who's leading the race."
HENRY Okay. Lando has a puncture. Lando has a picture. Kill 'em Ava.
"Kill 'em Ava. That's a new one."
"I think that's their way of saying 'push as much as you can, we're coming into the pits next lap.' We've seen many different ones before. But that is unique."
"Almost ominous even."
LAP 28:
"It is Ava Florence AND Max Verstappen both heading into the pits. Let's see... solid pitstop by Porsche. Ava's going to come just behind her teammate, but oh dear, what's happened with Red Bull. It's a slow stop."
"It looked like the right rear wheel had trouble coming off. So that's a terrible stop for Max. He was already behind Ava. He's going to even further behind Vettel."
FLORENCE Can I race Seb?
HENRY Yes, Ava. You can race Sebastian.
RUDI Seb, just to let you know, you can race Ava. So watch behind.
"Looks like we're going to a little teammate battle. We haven't been able to see much of that yet. Let's see how these two juggernauts battle it out. The rookie and the legend."
LAP 35:
"Ava, on the fresher tire, on the faster tire compounds. We're going to see offensive masterclass by her or a defensive showstopper by Sebastian Vettel. And down the DRS straight, Florence is on the attack. She makes the lunge to the outside of Turn 1. Not quite enough distance covered there. Don't look away yet folks. They separated by no less than inches of paint on their cars. Turn 4, once again, Ava Florence on the outside. Vettel, squeezing her out. Ava, so blindingly close to the wall! She has to back out! Vettel still in the lead. The 37 year old has years of experience under his belt. It's a new track, but not a new feeling for Sebastian Vettel."
"Good try by Ava, but like you said, Crofty, Vettel just has years of experience and it's showing as he's defending Ava beautifully."
"It's a tremendous battle between these two silver cars. Now, I don't want to jinx it, but the last thing that Porsche wants is for both of them to crash and lose this 1-2 they have. But Porsche seems to have great trust in both their drivers."
LAP 37:
"Okay, so, at the stage where we're going to be passing back markers on the grid. There's Lance Stroll being given the blue flag and he gets out of the way of his former teammate, Sebastian Vettel. They head down into Turn 10, it's Sebastian Vettel still in the lead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix."
"Florence is also there, but she's a bit behind Stroll. It's not enough for them to wave the blue flag apparently. So that's working in Vettel's forever."
HENRY Okay, Ava. We need to get past Stroll.
FLORENCE Are they color blind? Why are the blue flags not there?
"I do agree with her. The blue flags should be there. They were almost immediate for Vettel, but not so much for Florence. And Stroll doesn't have any intention of giving away this position. As they almost collide in Turn 17. So, that Porsche is just miles faster than the Aston Martin, it's just no enough space to overtake unless Stroll moves out of the way."
"Yup, and here they are Martin. Finally the blue flags have been waved and Stroll moves out for Ava Florence."
FLORENCE I need to have a long conversation with Papa Stroll about this driver.
LAP 50:
"It is a monumental weekend for Porsche. They have done everything right. And so as this man right here. Sebastian Vettel, two years out of the sport, he hasn't lost his touch. It's a new track, but a old feeling as SEBASTIAN VETTEL WINS THE SAUDI ARABIAN GRAND PRIX! THE FOURTH DIFFERENT RACE WINNER IN 2025! Behind Ava Florence crosses second and it is the first 1-2 by a team this season. That team being Porsche."
"Phenomenal race by both drivers. Fantastic strategy calls and overall, you saw the result of their efforts as Max Verstappen comes down to round out the podium. Brilliant."
FLORENCE That's the best I could do.
HENRY That's okay, Ava. That's exactly what we needed here.
FLORENCE Congrats to Seb tho. Love ya!
RUDI And that is a race win, Sebastian!
VETTEL YES! THANK YOU SO MUCH! IT'S AMAZING!

SAUDI ARABIA POST RACE INTERVIEW
Interviewer: Sebastian, welcome to your first race win of the season. Is this bringing back some feelings?
Seb: Yes, it's amazing. It's good to be back in Formula 1. My job was to help the team out, get from the ground running. But also to compete. I miss the feeling of fighting for wins and we did that today. Incredible day for the team, and... for Ava, she did amazing. A Porsche 1-2. I couldn't be happier.
Ava: Before you ask anything, I have a question for you. Did Seb flirt with you?
Interviewer: No, not at all.
Ava: Good because I call dibs.
Interview: Alright. Okay, I guess. So this your fifth straight podium. You're getting early close to beating Hamilton in his rookie year. He got nine in a row. Was this the start you were expecting in Formula 1?
Ava: Absolutely not. Obviously it was a goal. To compete for a championship at one point. And coming into the first two races, I just trying to enjoy my time here. I'm still doing that, but I think now I'm a bit more focused on the championship and today, it was a good performance. Obviously very though to pass Seb on this track, but happy with the results.
Interviewer: So Max, after getting pole position you had a bit of a scrap with Florence before eventually having to settle for third. A bit of a disappointment this weekend for you?
Max: Yeah obviously, we were looking for a strong result out of pole. On the start, a bit slow, couldn't get the tires to respond properly and then Ava caught me by surprise and took it. Not great, but still good to be on the podium. Get as many points as possible.

Saudi GP 2025: Winners and Losers
Alright everyone, lets dive into the race. As always, this is no hate on any driver, they are all mega talented, but I will be honest about their performance.
Charles Leclerc
Now, you might have expected our winner to be number one, but in truth Leclerc stood out to me the most this race. His first stint on the mediums (over thirty laps!) was absolutely brilliant. He managed his tires so well you could hardly even tell he was pushing them beyond what was recommended. Then after he pit, the way he chased down Russell was fun to watch. A clean overtake gave him the podium position, and then he kept the pace to stay ahead of a much faster car on faster and fresher tires (Norris on fresher mediums vs Leclerc on older hards). Just a stellar performance in what is most likely the fourth fastest car at the moment.
2. Lando Norris
Norris had to be my second place. In truth the only reason he was not my first was because Leclerc eventually stayed ahead, but the climb he did was stunning. Going from tenth to podium contention is brilliant, and although he had his mistakes and has the fastest car, a lot of it was due to him. He had some great wheel to wheel, solid tire management. All in all, I think this was better than expected after his horrendous qualifying (another detriment that kept him from first). It was a great recovery race to lower the damage, even if he lost the championship lead. Really he should be lower after his quali, but he just did so well during the race I had to give him his flowers.
3. Isak Hadjar
Hadjar drove phenomenally. 14th up to the points against a very competitive midfield shows how talented he is , and by far is my top rookie so far. He was clean, he was collected, he drove like a veteran. I have no doubts that we will see some very brilliant performances in the future if he keeps it up.
Runner Ups: Oscar Piastri (He had a great race, just nothing inspiring. Would have been up there if not for how well my top three did. He did take the championship lead, so fantastic for him!), Alex Albon (got into points) , and Esteban Ocon (climbed five positions)
Losers:
Max Verstappen
He was always going to be my number one loser. Because for all intents and purposes, Verstappen should have won this race. He had the brilliant quali lap, he has decent race pace (though not as fast as McLaren), and he has the skill to keep the lead. But that mistake in the first lap, that overtake off track and then his (or perhaps Red Bull's) unwillingness to give position back gave him the penalty that lost the race. I won't debate if it was deserved or not, all I will say is it was clearly a miscalculation on Verstappen's part that cost it all.
2. Lewis Hamilton
Normally a driver staying in their position they started in would be the sign of a mediocre race or decent one, nothing more. But Hamilton's teammate took a podium while he remained in 7th. More than that, it is clear he is still struggling with the car even four races in. Hamilton is insanely skilled, there is no doubt about that, but he is floundering right now and that is why he is my number two. Is it perhaps due to the car? Maybe, but that can't be comforting when your teammate is in third.
3. Kimi Antonelli
Ironically, the driver who replaced Hamilton at Mercedes is also on my losers podium. This has to do with multiple things, in truth. Antonelli's quali pace is nowhere near his teammates, he makes mistakes mid-race, and he is not able to really fight or overtake as much as having the second fastest car should allow. Most of this is probably due to being a rookie, but as the races go on he needs to improve. For his own sake.
Runner Ups: Pierre Gasly (DNF), Yuki Tsunoda (DNF), and Carlos Sainz (dropped multiple spots)
Alright that is it! Again, no hate, they are all so so good and genuinely enjoyed watching all of it.
Cheers,
-B

explaining f1: circuit de monaco
❤️ 🤍
Tumblr media
stats
the circuit de monaco has a circuit length of 3.337km, with 78 laps being held, it is the only circuit on the calendar that doesn't run a 305km distance (instead being 260.286). this is due to a combination of its low speed laps, high concentration requirements and the regular intervention of a safety car.
lewis hamilton holds the current lap record, at 1:12.909, with senna holding the record for the most wins at monaco.
2023
last year, it was verstappen who came first, with alonso and ocon rounding out the podium.
charles leclerc
monaco is charles' home race, with him being the first monegasque driver to compete at the race since olivier beretta in 1994. his poor performances at this track has led some to dub him as cursed.
it began in f2 in 2017, despite qualifying pole, he as forced to retire due to suspension issues. he also dnf'ed the sprint due to electrical issues.
in his first f1 season at sauber in 2018, he qualified 14th, but, due to a break issue, crashed into torro rosso's brendon hartley, ending both their races.
in 2019, the issue's began in qualifying. despite being told by the team he was safe for q2, as other drivers did more laps, he was knocked out, qualifying 16th. during the race, the renault of nico hulkenberg squeezed charles into the wall, causing a puncture and ending his race.
in 2021, charles qualified on pole but crashed during the session, with issues so severe the he could not start the race.
in a particularly famous ferrari fumble, in 2022, charles qualified on pole and built up a five second lead. charles had already pit for inters, leading his teammate carlos sainz leading the race. ferrari mistakenly call carlos and charles in for slicks at the same time, with charles falling to 4th. this is the occurrence of the radio "box, now box.. stay out! stay out!" from xavi (his race engineer at the time).
the curse isn't limited to f1 though, with charles driving niki lauda's 1974 ferrari into the barriers at the 2022 historic monaco grand prix.
2023 saw a vague improvement, charles qualified 3rd but gained a 3-place grid penalty for impeding mclaren's lando norris in q3. he started and finished the race 6th, but in what was a chaotic race, this wasn't bad.
charles has never finished on the podium in monaco, is this going to change?

Dutch GP: Race
Tumblr media
The Dutch Grand Prix was a really great race! With rain at the end of the first lap and some cars that immediately changed to inters, others one or two laps later and a few not changing their tyres, it was hard to keep track of who is where and who is right and wrong. But even though, Max Verstappen fell a bit back, because he changed tyres a bit later then some others, he was back in front after some laps. Charles Leclerc had a minor touch with Lando Norris in one of the very first laps and lost a small part of his front wing, he didn't changed the front wing, when they changed to intermediates, but he then was driving to the gravel a few laps later and seemed to have damaged his underfloor, and that caused him to be one of the slowest cars of the field. Much later in the race, when he was almost in last place, Ferrari retired the car.
In the middle of the race it was dry and the race was a bit more as usual, but with some position fights all over the field (except for P1), Alonso demonstrated some great overtakes in turn 3 and moved up to third place, with just the two Red Bull in front of him.
About 8 or 9 laps before the end, the rain came back, and more heavy than before. Perez made a mistake at the end of the main straight and spun, he lightly touched the wall with his rear end, but was able to continue the race, Alonso got into second place because of this. Just a few moments later, Zhou crashed out at the same place, after he was driving a great race. The race then got red flagged, because of the crash and too much water on the track.
When the race was restarted, more than 30 minutes later, it was a wet sprint to the finish line. Alonso attacked Verstappen in the first lap, but couldn't get through. Perez got a five second penalty for speeding in the pitlane, which finally caused him to lose his third place to Pierre Gasly.
Race results:
Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin)
Pierre Gasly (Alpine)
Sergio Perez (Red Bull) (+5 seconds)
Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)
Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes)
Lando Norris (McLaren)
Alex Albon (Williams)
Oscar Piastri (McLaren)
Esteban Ocon (Alpine)
Lance Stroll (Aston Martin)
Nico Hülkenberg (Haas)
Liam Lawson (Alpha Tauri)
Kevin Magnussen (Haas)
Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo)
Yuki Tsunoda (Alpha Tauri) (+5 seconds)
George Russell (Mercedes)
Out: Guanyu Zhou (Alfa Romeo) / Charles Leclerc (Ferrar) / Logan Sargeant (Williams)
Next weekend will be the GP of Italy in Monza.

Interviewer: "Thoughts on the five second penalty? Reasonable?" George: "Yeah, probably fair, to be honest. It was a little bit difficult. I knew I went in there pretty hot because they said it was out lap critical. If Ocon got ahead of me, that would have been a different story and there's no chance I would have fought it, so… I was half-expecting [laughs] to miss the corner. It's a bit of a shame you have that freedom in that corner. You wanna be punished for mistakes, and even when you're racing, as you saw with myself and Checo, you can go a bit too deep and you know there's a get out of jail free card, so yeah, I'd like to see something different in that corner."

Austrian Grand Prix results confirmed as Sainz and Hamilton among drivers demoted
The FIA has released the final classification of results for the Austrian Grand Prix after a string of retrospective penalties for track limit infringements were handed down. Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton are two of the drivers to be demoted in the new standings with Lando Norris elevated to fourth place while Fernando Alonso and George Russell also rise up in the results. The new classification has been released after the FIA handed out penalties to eight drivers following the conclusion of the race in Spielberg, which was won by a dominant Max Verstappen, with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez coming home in second and third respectively. Aston Martin had lodged a protest over the provisional classification shortly after the 71-lap encounter at the Red Bull Ring, where several other drivers had already been given penalties for track limits violations. READ MORE: Stewards uphold Aston Martin’s protest over Austrian GP results An accompanying note from the stewards at the time explained that “having become aware of the existence of a number of deleted laps (due to exceeding track limits) that were drawn to our attention after the receipt of the protest” the panel “have requested Race Control to perform a reconciliation of all deleted laps with penalties applied”. Later on the stewards subsequently upheld the protest from Aston Martin and said that additional penalties for exceeding track limits would be applied to the final classification. Lewis Hamilton has found himself demoted to P8 in the Austrian Grand Prix That has now filtered through from the FIA with Sainz, Hamilton, Pierre Gasly, Alex Albon, Esteban Ocon, Logan Sargeant, Nyck de Vries and Yuki Tsunoda all being hit with further penalties. The new results sees Sainz drop from P4 to P6, with Norris elevated to P4 and Fernando Alonso to P5. Hamilton drops from P7 to P8 with his team mate George Russell being elevated to P7. EXPLAINED: Why did so many drivers get penalised for track limits in Austria? Meanwhile Gasly drops a place to P10, with Lance Stroll rising up to P9, and Ocon drops from P12 to P14. Albon and Sargeant keep their respective P11 and P13 finishes. AlphaTauri’s De Vries drops from P15 to P17 while his team mate Tsunoda falls from P18 to P19. Carlos Sainz had been in P4 but now finds himself in P6 According to the stewards, the retrospective penalties have been applied as follows: For four infringements, a 5-second time penalty; for five infringements, a 10-second time penalty. Then a “reset” has been allowed due to the excessive number of infringements. The counting of infringements restarts. After another four infringements, a five-second time penalty will apply; after five, a 10-second time penalty. The stewards also added that they “very strongly recommend” that a solution be found to the track limits at the Spielberg circuit. The penalties imposed after the race in full are as follows: Carlos Sainz – 10-second time penalty Lewis Hamilton – 10-second time penalty Pierre Gasly – 10-second time penalty Alex Albon – 10-second time penalty Esteban Ocon – 5-second time penalty Esteban Ocon – 10-second time penalty Esteban Ocon – 5-second time penalty Esteban Ocon – 10-second time penalty (30 seconds in total for Ocon) Logan Sargeant – 10-second time penalty Nyck de Vries – 10-second time penalty Nyck de Vries – 5-second time penalty (15 seconds in total for De Vries) Yuki Tsunoda – 5-second time penalty via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

Round V - Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
أهلاً ومرحباً بكم في المملكة العربية السعودية! 🇸🇦
The final round of our first triple header took us to the Arabian Coast, as we arrived at the Jeddah Street Circuit.
Oscar Piastri was disappointed to miss out on pole position after his McLaren team finished 1-2 in both second and third practice. But his strong getaway from P2 in his words “won us the race,” as he drew alongside Verstappen, with the Red Bull driver cutting the second corner and picking up a five-second time penalty that ultimately cost him the lead. Piastri comfortably controlled the race once in the outright lead to become the first driver to win from below pole position this season. It was the Australian’s third win in five Grand Prix this year and that moved him into the lead of the Driver's Championship for the first time in his career; the first Australian to do so since his manager Mark Webber in 2010.
Isack Hadjar wasn’t in the finest of spirits on Saturday after being out-qualified by Liam Lawson for the first time this year as he ended up a season-low P14 on the grid. However, the young Frenchman delivered when it mattered to snatch the final point in P10. That was the team’s first points in Jeddah since 2022 and his second points finish in the last three Grand Prix, continuing his good form in his rookie season.
Haas arrived in Saudi Arabia on the back of three successive Grands Prix in the points – but they simply didn’t have the pace to make it four on the bounce. The American machine struggled in the high-speed corners, of which there are many in Jeddah, and that ruled them out of an appearance in Q3. Both made progress in the race, but Ollie Bearman couldn’t repeat his heroics of last year – where he scored points on debut in a super-sub entry for Ferrari – and ended up P13, one place ahead of Esteban Ocon.
A small break until Miami at the start of May begins now, with most teams and drivers focusing on the main part of the season now. Until then...
وداعا الآن! 🇸🇦

-“His arch rival- nemesis really” The 2021 season was really one for the ages
-I love when Max knows when to play it safe
-George having so much time between him and p2 to pit
-How was I praising Ferrari strategy five seconds earlier?
-How many times are we going make a joke about Yuki’s airport incident? Please just shut up
-Okay Sauber, I had way too much faith in your pit stops there for a second
-If Merc pulls team orders I will scream
-“ All the traffic in one group behind Tsonoda” Why’d that make me laugh
-It’s so funny how I was saying this is giving old times, with a Merc 1-2 and Max p3
-Alonso!!
-Woah Checo! Let’s go! That’s was amazing!!
-“Do you want me to try and keep them behind or what?” “I think you should yeah”
-Still don’t get why Carlos is ahead there

[ad_1] Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris Celebrate Podium Finish (PC: @mclaren) Oscar Piastri put on a race winning show at the Shanghai International circuit to redeem himself following the Melbourne spin out. Piastri, who took pole in qualifying, clinched his third F1 race win with an immaculate drive where he led every single lap while navigating both his teammate Lando Norris and Mercedes’ George Russell. The two McLarens topped the race again as they executed their one pit-stop strategy to perfection. In fact, the top five race finishers—Piastri, Norris, Russell, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, all deployed a single pit stop strategy. Although it is to be noted that Lewis Hamilton, who finished P6 was the only driver in the Top 10 to use a second-stop strategy in the race. With the two McLarens going neck-to-neck in the later stages of the race, it was Norris who had to hold back due to a braking issue. Even with last minute braking issues, RedBull and Ferrari finished 15 second behind race-winner Piastri. With two back-to-back podiums for McLaren, they are already 25 points ahead of Mercedes in the Constructors’ Championship. Defending World Champion, Max Verstappen, who started fourth continued his struggles from the Sprint race. The Dutch driver finished fourth, only a few seconds ahead of Leclerc, who was driving with a damaged front wing. While teammate Liam Lawson found himself out of the points as he finished 16th. Rookies, Kimi Antonelli and Ollie Bearman, impressed with their drives finishing P8 and P10 respectively. Among the others, Alpine’s Jack Doohan had to face a penalty for pushing Racing Bull’s Isack Hadjar off the track, the two ended up finishing P16 and P14 respectively. Meanwhile, Haas’ driver, Esterban Ocon, also found himself in the points with an impressive P7 finish behind the Ferrari duo. Even though Hamilton started off his weekend well, misfortune struck as the teammates made contact in the first lap, resulting in a damaged front wing for the Monegasque. Following a chaotic Australia GP, the China GP turned out to be a crash-free race with hardly any incidents. Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso was the only driver to not finish the race following brake failure at the early stages of the race.
