#five and dolores

the worst part of the whole five/Lila thing is that I could see five falling in love he clearly wants it, whether that is romantic or platonic I just hate that it was with lila.

 It was so sad to hear Lila say he was just a distraction. Imagine hearing that when all you wanted your whole life was to appreciated and cared for, but you were deprived of it for 70 years. Seeing how head over heels he falls over Lila actually makes me sad, with the interpretation that he doesn't actually love her like that, but the idea of her. The same way he loved Dolores. It seems more like at trauma response than out of true love. Which is just so sad to think about; he never could feel love for someone who didn't go through such immense trauma because he grew up in the wastelands of the apocalypse—that is what is familiar to him. Anything else felt off to him. Imagine living 40 years in a barren wasteland with NO people and what that does to you. There is no way Five would be as stable as some of yall thought him to be in s1-s3. He was constantly unraveling, growing more and more exhausted and still being dismissed by his family. He deeply desired some sort of intimate love, a life partner, someone who would choose him every time the way he would for them.

i would have preferred it if they introduced someone else for him that wasn't Lila. like they did with Sloane and Luther. Maybe someone from his time in the CIA after all it has been six years.

So, I'm writting a five fanfic, and come across the need to search up Dolores' name meaning.

It means "lady of sorrows" I am unwell.

It makes so much sense, I'm crying rn.

Reggie has Grace.

There are parallels that can be drawn between these relationships that I don’t have the brain power to do right now.

“i felt that five had to have a love story” okay steve !! fine. i’ll humour you. picture this : lila and five in the subway. they’re travelling to different timelines, loosing hope, trying to find a way home. then they get to a timeline and five sees dolores. but she’s a human, not a mannequin. he falls for her. loves her. wants to stay with her in her timeline. and that’s why lila has to force him to come home. she has kids, a husband, a life. five wants to stay with dolores more than anything. but he goes home, back to his timeline, because he knows he has to save his family. because he loves them more.

Ever time she is brought up I mentally go “DELORES!!!!! THAT’S MY GIRL!!!!”

They are one of the best couples in the whole show and no one will change my mind on this.

the first thought i thunk when lila and five kissed was "BUT... DELORES... NO." that mannequin and fives relationship has an embarrassingly large place in my heart

my card declined in therapy so they reminded me that delores probably has qualities of each of five’s siblings because he imagined her entire personality out of desperation for human contact and all he ever knew before he disappeared was the academy

delores has luther’s loyalty. she absolutely has diego’s stubbornness. she’s definitely got allison’s determination and klaus’ spontaneity. she has ben’s kind-heartedness and viktor’s passion.

i can’t imagine seeing each of his siblings again and being reminded of the only soul he had through the hardest part of his life in each and every way they act.
