How the AoS characters would be around the holidays:

Coulson: He's not a big religious guy, nor really one for holidays in general, but I like to imagine he might decorate the base with lights if nudged by the others

May: Nothing to do with the holidays ever. She makes an ugly sweater look scary

Daisy: She's also not a fan of anything religious due to her upbringing, but she does like the family aspect of it and is mostly the one nudging Coulson to decorate and get a tree. Demands that everyone wear Christmas sweaters

Fitz: I've seen a lot of Jewish!Fitz headcanons and I totally agree; I think he was raised Jewish but he doesn't practice, either way, he's not a huge fan of the holidays. He mostly just stays with Jemma and shares one of those chocolate eggs with her

Jemma: Much more into the Christmas spirit, emphasizing a lot of the "get together" feel of it, she arranges movie nights for the team

Mack: I think he'd go to church for the first half of the day and spend the rest of it with the team. Makes a mean Christmas dinner

Elena: Very similar to Mack, I imagine they'd go together. She doesn't like how Christmas in the US is a lot more commercialized and rants about it a bit

Deke: Does not know what Christmas is and thinks it's kinda weird to have a day where everyone just sits around and chats (survival instincts). He joins in on the movies w/Jemma

For the character asks, Lance Hunter

Thanks for the ask! 💙

First impression: Loved him. I think I found him a little bit annoying, but in a good way, of course.

Impression now: I somehow love him even more. I still can't believe the writers just wrote him and Bobbi out because they were such great characters. He deserved to stay even just for comedic relief, because God knows the team needed a laugh sometimes, and so did we.

Favorite moment: When he shows up in prison to "talk to his client" in season 5. That was so iconic because not only was it a great entrance, but also such a relief to see a familiar face in that situation, especially if said familiar face has a hilarious dynamic with Fitz. That was obviously written for the fans, so I have no complaints. Honourable mentions to when he punches the guy from the ATCU without so much as a second thought, when he rants about Bobbi in 2.04 pretending he's not in love with her, and when he goes undercover as an obnoxious IT guy.

Idea for a story: This is not my idea, but I need to know what happened when he and Bobbi almost got married again between seasons 3 and 5. What do you mean "the ninjas showed up"? This had so much potential, but I think the fact that he never explained makes it funnier. Is it a weird metaphor for something? Did some ninjas actually attack them right before the wedding? Are the ninjas some friends who didn't think they should get married? We'll never know.

Unpopular opinion: I've seen somewhere that Most Wanted was a bad idea from the start, and I'm here to tell you that's wrong. I think it's a tragedy that it got cancelled, because can you imagine the potential? A spinoff of the best show on Earth? Our favourite problematic spy couple on the run breaking the law and causing problems? How is that a bad idea. Even if the script was bad and the plot was bad and everything was bad, it's still extra screentime for two awesome characters. If nothing else, we all know he would have had hilarious one liners, and I would have loved to watch it.

Favorite relationship: Huntingbird. Yes, I know he and Bobbi had a LOT of issues, but that just makes it funnier. Their bickering was on point, and the way he so was so obviously down bad for her the minute the words "demonic hell beast" left his mouth is so pathetic and hilarious. On a more serious note, the way they worked together as agents was great. While they may not have always trusted each other, they always had faith in the other's capabilities to do a good job in the field and stay alive ("Don't die our there"). They worried, sure, but they didn't try to keep the other out of danger Fitzsimmons style because they knew they could handle things, and for the most dysfunctional relationship of the show, that was pretty healthy. As for platonic relationship, Fitz. All they had in common was the fact that they were sassy Brits with serious relationship issues, and that was somehow enough to form a great dynamic. I loved all their little moments in 2.04, especially when Fitz talked about his crush on Jemma in the weirdest, most uncomfortable, and out of context way, and Hunter just went along with it and comforted him.

Favorite headcanon: At some point watching season 6 I decided it was stupid that they hadn't returned to SHIELD, so in my head they did. It just didn't make sense that they still had to live a life on the run when SHIELD was a legitimate organisation again, especially when the new director was their best friend who could have pulled some strings to have them there. It would have been so cool to see them again, not to mention it would have been very helpful for the team. And can you imagine Hunter's reaction at seeing Sarge? If anyone could have added some levity to the situation, I know it's him.

Writing this made me remember how much I love and miss him. Please send me more!

Character Asks.

Jemma Simmons was sick and tired of always playing things safe. She had conducted herself as far too reserved and "buttoned-up" for long enough — she had waited in the wings on missions, waited for Fitz to express his feelings, and waited for life to throw her a bone.

She was tired of waiting. Jemma wanted to have some fun.

The Framework was finally ready for a serious test-drive. Perfect timing, as far as Jemma was concerned. The digital simulation offered her the perfect sandbox to explore her desires unfettered from judgement — or from the limitations of reality, for that matter. She gave herself "full admin control" over the system, which manifested almost like magical powers of conjuration within the digital world. With the flick of the wrist, sparkles of light burst from her fingertips to allow her to bend the Framework to her will. She summoned a bar — no, a dance club — filled with a crowd of dancing strangers, lively music, and vibrant disco lights.

And when she needed to summon a partner... well, why limit herself? She didn't want to dance with Fitz, or with Daisy. She wanted to avoid reminding herself of what she didn't have in the real world. She wanted something new.

Why not dream bigger? She flicked her wrist again and conjured up a beautiful woman — one who was fun, one she felt comfortable with, one who knew her deepest desires innately and perfectly. She conjured up a double of herself: another Jemma , through and through — equally excited to let loose and finally have some fun.

Michael and Charlie as parents details with their two kids Millie and Gregory.

Millie:

Millie is the oldest child by seven years.

She is like Charlie in the way that she is amazed and obsessed with something but instead of robotics she’s instead obsessed with poetry.

Her favourite uncle is Sammy with her favourite aunt being Cassidy.

When she was younger Millie loved hearing stories from her parents and even when she got older she still loves hearing a good story told by her parents

Millie shares the same music taste as her parents that being a love for rock and metal.

As she got older Millie started having issues with Charlie as she found Charlie being too overprotective of her and one day while Michael was away on a business trip Millie lashed out at her mother which hurt Charlie for a while.

Millie did apologise to Charlie when Michael came back home and found about what happened. At first Millie didn’t want to but after Michael told her about Charlie’s past and how William stabbed her Millie understood why Charlie was so protective of her daughter.

She is very shy like her mother though she retains Michael’s dry and sassy sense of humour.

Millie has a girlfriend called Sarah and at first was nervous about coming out as bi to her parents but after some begging by Sarah she came out with her parents accepting her for who she is.

Millie shares the same music taste as Michael and Charlie being rock and metal. Millie was the one to introduce Slipknot to her family and the band became something the four of them would bond over

Before Millie left for College she asked Michael if they could get tickets in 2009 to go to the UK festival Download as they were going to the UK for a late birthday trip for Charlie. What happened was one of Millie’s best memories with her mother as when Slipknot played live it was the best experience of their life with Millie seeing Charlie cry from happiness.

Gregory:

Gregory shares more his traits with Michael than Charlie but he still has his mother’s shyness.

Gregory’s favourite uncle is Evan due to his nice nature and his favourite aunt is Elizabeth due to how Elizabeth is the only person apart from Charlie to get under Michael’s skin which is always fun to watch.

Gregory loves slightly lurking in the background and spying on his older sister.

Once Millie had come out as bi and started being more open with being Sarah around to their house Gregory would often find the perfect timing to catch his sister making out with her girlfriend and ruining their moment.

Much to Millie’s annoyance Sarah and Gregory are friendly to each other and would often work together to annoy her.

Gregory would often help Charlie work as she builds new animatronics and would take notes of how Charlie builds the robots.

Gregory is definitely more closer to Michael than Charlie but he would definitely say that Charlie is his favourite.

For Charlie’s birthday Gregory asked Michael if the two could build a little robot for Charlie with Michael agreeing. That robot ended up being Helpy.

When Gregory is older he gets a girlfriend called Beth and is very secretive about her. It isn’t until Millie stumbles on the two kissing does the family find out.

Milie Fitzsimmons is…an americian-polish person to me though she never really learned to speak polish outside of a few words and phrases due to her family never really taking the time to teach her the language…so her main language is English. However, She did take some time to learn Polski on her own as a means to feel more connected to her grandmother as I like to think the Polish roots come from her. Her Grandpa was aware of this and even offered to help but Millie declined his offer.

I’m so amazed by the backgrounds you’ve built for TK and Carlos in Where All This Love Comes From! Can you talk a little about your process with that?

Hello! Thank you for this lovely question! I’m really happy you’re enjoying their backstories!

This gets a bit long, but basically: I've been collecting up backstory headcanons like a truffle pig since I discovered the show, and it became quickly evident that to ‘know’ Tarlos is to imagine them.

We have to assume that so many important things happen off screen, and we’re left to piece together why they are who they are when we meet them. So, my imagination naturally began filling in the blanks, but in a way that drove me so bananas I had to write it down - the images were strong!

In my first fic, Sensitivity, I brought three headcanons into it: Carlos had a crush on Scott Fitzsimmons, a lovely member of his high school wrestling team; TK self-harmed as a teen (which I think is a headcanon many people share); TK was gay-bashed by his own high school crush (the latter being a key point of Chapter 10 of Where All This Love Comes From, which I’m about to post!)

These and other headcanons became enduring, and I kept digging away and bringing TK and Carlos’ pasts into other fics: Wrestling Angels, Chasers, Afterglow of a Supernova, Man to Man, The Heart Behind the Shield. All are stand-alone but linked, and it seems that every time I elaborate on a backstory in one fic, I come away wanting to sink my teeth in deeper, so bring it out in another fic. And so on. Where All This Love Comes From is effectively my way of bringing lots of my backstory ideas from different fics into one place. The challenge within that was to knit them into the canon-compliant present day of Husband Era.

I think backstory is a really important part of storytelling in general, especially when the story effectively is the character and their motivations. The questions are always why and how, and we need an outlet for those. Why did Carlos marry Iris after coming out aged 17? Why did TK become an addict? How did Carlos eventually get to a place where he confidently danced with TK in public at the honky-tonk? How did the Carlos we know and love become so broken by grief for a man he had a difficult relationship with that he nearly killed a guy? It’s fascinating and I want to keep going! I’m writing a fic at the moment which yet again involves backstory but around a specific subject. I try to look the show being vague in its writing as a gift that keeps on giving 😅

The shift in character change ~ Agents Of SHIELD Headcanons ⚔️

The surfing change in Amelia Parker, also known as Amy Morse is a subtle but gentle change that pushes her over the edge.

-> This was originally gonna go on the main blog but because this is about a agent of shield turned turned into something else, it only made sense to me to put it on here!!

— Small warning spoilers for Phase 1 & Phase 2 projects

- She joined SHIELD with the intent to help people the best as can, explore the possibilities that the world has to offer, use her natural skill set and grow as a person, making friendship along the way.

- In Iron Man 2, she cameos as a couple voice messages to Coulson and on vacation to Stark Expo with her family. Which is when The Drones attack happened, being physically hurt by one of them in fear as she rushed to help civilians to safety. She was fine don’t worry! A little traumatized but doing alright.

- She cameos in a few short moments in Thor as well. As she deals with Uncle Ben’s death too but she’s fine even if it bothers her, remembering he would want her to keep going.

- But The Avengers, is when the shift starts to happen more promptly, apart from the chaos of the film. Being one of the agents of the carrier, during Loki’s attack she has to try to rewire plans the entire time by sending out agents to take care of things.

- As she is running down the hallway, it’s when she hears on the radio and notices Coulson’s death by the hands of Loki!

- The god disappears and shakes everyone up, Amelia is just badly hurt as she watches Fury speak his last words to Coulson. It leaves a scar in her heart, having her friend and mentor fall during the attack. She acts like she’s fine but cries a little, trying straighten herself out.

- After The Avengers she is a little over the edge due to Coulson’s death, scaring nightmares of The Drone attack and SHIELD throwing work at her. So it keeps her busy with things to do.

- In 2013, is when things changed. Coulson comes back surprisingly and forms a team to discover the world post-Avengers 2012! And Amelia is signed to be there, reunites with her mentor/father figure, doing better. With that, the team grows with Fitzsimmons, Skye, May and her very good Grant Ward.

- Of course, Amelia has her ups and downs during season 1 of Agents Of SHIELD, pushbacks on missions, questionable moments with the team and exploring the unknown.

- But what completely pushes her over the edge is in 2014, second half of Agents Of SHIELD season 1, when everyone finds out Hydra was under their noses and tired of hiding in the shadows.

- Amelia is shocked, stressed out and questioning her every move. Not knowing who is on her side or not. She didn’t even pull her punches to protect herself and her teammates! A part of her regret not being more careful however it was understandable.

- Hell, Coulson brought them all to a bunker for their protection and to find a way to figure things out where at some point were put under lie detectors to make sure everyone was telling the truth about themselves. Everyone passed but there was still this lingering feeling something was off a couple of days later due to the situation.

- And when she thought she could take a huge break, she got the reveal that Ward is HYDRA! That’s what broke Amelia and pulled the plugs that pushed her over the edge, if she wasn’t already.

- She was extremely upset, conflicted and overwhelmed with emotions. Amelia was in denial and didn’t even have the heart to attack him, because as much as he lied to her. And gave his reasons to why he kept that secret. A part of her still loved him.

- Ward was passing out drama and trauma like it was hot cakes! Leaving a scar on everyone, including her. What’s even crazier than that, is that they didn’t kill him afterwards but kept him locked away in the SHIELD facility basement in New York City.

- Season 2, she deals with the aftermath of plenty Shield agents being Hydra ones, along with the new discovery that involves technology and human beings with possible abilities coming out of hiding.

- So she over the edge at this point, wearing a little more grays and blacks. Changing her hair to not be recognized in public. Amelia is helping to rebuild SHIELD headquarters with her team into what it once was, keeping secrets from The Avengers and boarding herself with work. Frequent missions and visits to Ward’s cell for answers to questions he might know, until they decide to have him moved somewhere else instead.

- And most importantly, Amelia undergoes an even more shocking turn of events due to shield discovery of alien, inhuman and mutant activity across the country. During an trip to Puerto Rico, one of islands underneath the caves held the rumbling ability to unlock unhinged truths. While Skye and Tripp were down there, in the mist of the explosive wave that resulted in Skye’s odd transformation, Amelia was effected in the blast getting hurt as she watched Tripp die. But that wasn’t the only thing that happened…

The Fitzsimmons lived in Philadelphia originally and Henry's side of the family comes entirely from Pennsylvania.

While searching for a place to open up a restaurant, the Jersey shore and specifically Asbury Park boardwalk was in need of reinvigorating, so Henry chose there to open his restaurant instead of in Philly.

Luanne used to be a marathon runner and has participated in the Boston Marathon.

Isaac graduated from film school at NYU Tisch, where Sam's ex also studied drama.

Alicia is mildly colorblind.

Henry and Luanne met at a bar in Philadelphia when they were 23 and 26, they hit it off after they discovered they'd both attended the same terrible scam musical.

Henry is a boat craftsman as a hobby and has built several fully functioning boats.

Sam was a contestant on Chopped when he was 21, he was the judges' favorite to win but producers arranged the runner up to win because his backstory was more emotional. He's still salty about it.

Thanks for the ask! I'm assuming you're talking about Fitz, so here you go! 💙

First impression: I think he was the character I loved the most at the beginning. I thought he was adorable and I found his awkwardness hilarious, and I especially loved his dynamic with Simmons in season 1. It really stressed my out how innocent and helpless he seemed though, because he just didn't know how to defend himself at all back in the day.

Impression now: I have to admit my opinion of him changed for the worse after 5.14, and I so wish that hadn't happened (or at least had been properly dealt with), but it did, so here we are. I still love him, and I think he had some really good and interesting character development and a great ending.

Favorite moment: It's really hard to choose because he has so many funny moments that I really enjoyed, especially in the earlier seasons. One moment I loved was in 1.06, where Jemma gets infected with the chitauri virus and he enters the lab anyway to help her find a cure. Here's where I realised he's not just the nerdy comedic relief, he's also loyal and kind, which in my opinion are some of his best qualities.

Idea for a story: I'd like to know how he came up with the idea for the night night gun. Dendrotoxins are neurotoxins produced by snakes, right? So now I need to know what kind of experiment led to him potentially knocking out a couple of students by accident before he thinks to apply the science to a non-lethal gun. I like to think that after the accident, he went to extreme lengths to get a snake (because that's funnier than just the neurotoxins) and extract its venom all to make some bullets which might not even work. He then needs to get some volunteers to test it on, because the test subjects need to be human to get the correct dosage to knock out a person. Can you imagine him going up to random students and asking them to participate in a pretty dangerous experiment all for the sake of a weapon that he's gonna name the night night gun? I think it has the potential to be hilarious.

Unpopular opinion: I think the writers didn't know what to do with him in the later seasons. I felt like his presence was not only irrelevant but also unnecessary. Like seasons 1 to 3 he wasn't the main character, but he still played a role in the show. Seasons 4 and 5, he was arguably pivotal to the plot. But seasons 6 and 7? I couldn't tell you why he was there if you held a gun to my head. All the time he spent lost in space in season 6 was a waste of time for him and other characters as well, and it just took some much needed time from the main storyline of the season. And he was barely in season 7, but I didn't even miss him because they'd pretty much made him a side character at this point. Maybe he was important as the other half of Fitzsimmons, but not as his own character. This is of course not his fault, I just think it's such a shame that they wasted all the potential he had, just when he got really interesting and complicated after season 5.

Favorite relationship: Romantic? Fitzsimmons. I was rooting for them literally since their first scene. I love that their ship name is cannon. And platonic? Lance Hunter. They had such a hilarious dynamic in season 2, and I love how Hunter helps him and doesn't care about his brain injury. Honourable mention to the bus kids.

Favorite headcanon: Not my own, but I read somewhere that he's autistic, and I love that headcanon for him. I feel like that's kind of how Iain played him, and it would have been cool if they'd explored this in canon.

General Opinion over said character: i looove him butttt i prefer him in the earlier seasons bc the writing of fitzsimmons from like……s5 and on definitely made me a bit irked with both of them but anyways trans fitz is real peace and love on planet earth

So Marvel made Agents of SHIELD not technically “MCU Canon” and in the show there are discontinuities revolving around Thanos. 

I’m bored and just somehow got sucked back into AOS despite being in like three other fandoms, so I’m just going to put down my headcanons for the differences.

Everything under the tag because it got a bit long.

MCU:

Project Deathlok is a failure and John Garrett dies somewhere in a secret base. 

Without anyone’s support, Raina’s persuasive ability can only get her so far. Her death appears in the newspapers as an open-and-shut murder case.

Ward wastes whatever potential he could have had in the prison system. He’s unfortunate enough to have been in New York in 2012 and an errant blast from a Chitauri ship kills him. 

Ironically, in the same city, at the same time, a twenty-four-year-old hacker stays in front of Stark Tower just a few moments too long. She dies as Skye, buried beneath a pile of rubble.

Her father never finds what he’s looking for, and the SHIELD agents are just a little faster. Jiaying never makes it out of that village alive.

By a miracle, Calvin Zabo survives and clings to life just long enough to find a certain Daniel Whitehall. The bastardized serum works just long enough for them to kill each other.

Coulson dies on the operating table, unwilling to be dragged back to life.

Melinda May stays behind her desk and is killed fighting off a swarm of HYDRA agents. The Mockingbird falls, and so does a mechanical engineer by the name of Alphonso Mackenzie.

Fitzsimmons die in an unmarked grave. For all their brilliance and usefulness, they’re too loyal.

The Inhumans see what happens to their kind and the doors of the Afterlife never open again. Terrigen never falls into the sea, and Elena Rodriguez isn’t fast enough to dodge the bullets. 

There’s no backlash against the Inhumans. For all the world knows, they don’t exist.

Lance Hunter continues on with his life, but the life of a mercenary is a dangerous one. He’s very good, but not everyone can outrun death.

Without the new SHIELD discretely taking down HYDRA cells, the Avengers become more involved. HYDRA agents, like Ruby, are killed in the ensuing destruction. 

But SHIELD agents that should have survived are killed too. Davis and Piper both die as humans. Casualties aren’t just a result of HYDRA. Antoine Triplett dies securing the Gravitonium, and after SHIELD falls, its left in the Fridge, forgotten.

The monolith finds no sacrifice, and Hive still waits on an almost lifeless planet for a chance.

Ghost Rider never hides the Darkhold, but Agatha Harkness discovers quite an interesting read.

AIDA and the Framework never exist, and Radcliffe is only ever known as the eccentric transhumanist.

Without the Destroyer of Worlds and the Inhumans, the Kree never intervene again, Captain Marvel’s warning is more than enough to deter the Empire... for now.

I imagine CTW Freddy taking more of a brotherly/best friend role rather than a father figure role to Millie so I don't know how much I can imagine him being concerned about her grades, BUT.

(Although I could see him being concerned if her grades are low cause he'd probably take it as a sign that something is wrong, so I could see him confronting her if he's worried about her wellbeing. He cares more about Millie's physical and mental health than her grades.)

I could see him being encouraging and trying his best to help her anyway he can, just more as an older brother than a parent, ESPECIALLY with history classes.

He'd absolutely get a good laugh and be proud of her though for putting her report card on the ceiling, regardless of her actual grades.

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

Sam Winchester from spn (even when he irritated me in canon it wasn't enough to truly dislike his character but fans acting like he was a 6 year old child who can do no wrong and can't be held accountable for his own screw ups seriously started to make me dislike his character. Not as much though now lol)

Loki. Even his worst actions never bothered me because he was always a villain and he was interesting on screen, but his fans trying to make him the victim of every situation and that popular 'he's actually a teenager in Asgard years' headcanon annoyed me so much. He's not a helpless little misguided angel. He deliberately hurt people as a grown, powerful, adult and killed hundreds. His character having depth and nuance doesn't change that.

(a lot of characters from aos would technically fit but canon is usually the reason I started disliking those characters at first and fandom just made my dislike stronger. ex: ward, Fitz, deke, Simmons but not as much)

Fitzsimmons. My God, I tried so hard to like them and ship them in the beginning. I don't understand how they're considered the greatest couple like, where??? (but then codependency, slow burn, and jealous male trope is very popular in every fandom for some reason so it checks out I guess)

also, when fans take great found families and then infantilize the younger characters. weirds me out every time. Sorry, but daisy isn't a little baby who needs daddy Coulson and mama May to hold her hand and treat her like a child. She can view them as surrogate parents (she only really does this with Coulson in canon though, and even then because they met as adults one moment their relationship is a certain way and the next its another, which makes sense. don't think canon Daisy would ever call Coulson "dad" or May "mom" unless as a joke)while still treating them like friends/mentors and with them still treating her like a capable adult who can make her own life choices. She's literally 25 when she meets them.
