i really do not mean to add another post to the daisy johnson deserves better / standwithquake tags considering almost every topic in these tags has been exhausted and honestly i don't think anyone really wants to dwell on said topics anymore despite their exceeding validity, but a thought came to me within the past week.
i forgot who (sorry) but someone mentioned once how season 6 became some sort of overcorrection for the writers for all the atrocities they had the team go through in S5 (i.e., revolving the story around fitzsimmons rather than coulson-daisy–emphasis on the latter–or jumping on the Doctor arc in S6 before anyone else on the team finds out a la 5x14). Mulling over events in S7, it seems as if some of the overcorrection reached it, too. i can't blame the writers, considering the renewal was about to end, but it didn't take away the fact that they tried. and it (sort of) backfired. (also i'm not sure about the fandom response since i joined the boat a few months before season 7 aired, but it's still worth pointing out)
exhibit a: Jiaying. in season 2, Cal had the opportunity to redeem himself, while Jiaying didn't, she was reduced into this one-dimensional antagonist, completely glossing over the fact that she had a point–you can't trust SHIELD with powereds, much less Inhumans. and people knew this. one can chalk up 2B SHIELD's choices to Gonzales, but, if you think about it, seasons 3-7 retroactively support this (apart from the ATCU mess, they failed to keep Hive out, ensuing 3B plus S4, which continues the exhaustive dialogue for their rights–they were living peacefully for centuries, mind you–and continuing the Index endangered some of them via the Watchdogs hacking in. also the Sokovia Accords. S5 literally depicts Inhumans sold as slaves by a Kree dynasty, which wouldn't have to be a thing if they remained secret from the rest of society; S6&7 still relies on inhuman powers being harvested–anyone remember alternate John Garrett?) and this has yet to factor in how Daisy and Yo-yo are treated by the value of their powers (Daisy especially; that girl has been through some Shit). so, Season 7 is their last hurrah, and what do they do? They give Jiaying the chance to redeem herself to Daisy and to the audience by introducing us to who she was before dying in '89, plus Kora to show how much she cares for her child, a full 180 on the Jiaying that tried to kill Daisy in S2.
but how would we meet this Jiaying?
enter exhibit b: Daisy's torture in S7. it's not exactly The Devil Complex, but it still happened (hammer on the nail is that it's the same operation Whitehall did on Jiaying). everyone in these tags has feelings for 5x14, which a vocal minority agreed with when it aired (and honestly, it does no one any favors. i get The Doctor reveal, really, I do, but the image of a white man subduing an asian-american to extract her physical value is not a good look. seriously). another general complaint that rose was that Daisy didn't have someone comforting her because everyone was standing on attention considering the stakes, so what do they do in Season 7? Enter Sousa. He's right there by Daisy in the immediate aftermath of her torture. Hit two birds with one stone to redeem the way they treated Daisy in two seasons. Great!
Not.
they wouldn't have needed course correction if there was nothing to correct in the first place. the fact still remains, Daisy got tortured the same way twice, as if one time wasn't enough. Afterlife entering a dialogue with SHIELD on proper ground would've been politically interesting for the plot. there was also Daisy's over-sexualization in S6 that ended with a sexism monologue in S7. closure between Fitz and Daisy would've been so much better than having the same shit done twice. and, at least Jiaying actually had to die in S2 because Cal was keeping his promise to protect their daughter, not like S7 where she died (way too easily tbh) just for shock value (and to have Kora on their side I think? but Fitzsimmons's calculations didn't consider Jiaying dying so. she really wasn't supposed to die).
ok i thought of this last week but i forgot then i remembered it today and i hope i mentioned everything lol it just Has To Be Said

Ways I would incorporate Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. into the MCU (with their future installments):
If Agatha All Along hadn't come out, I would put in Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider in some type of flashback. Something that shows how Agatha got the Darkhold from him, or maybe he shows up at the end with a whole "it's time to pay for your sins" type of thing
Same with Agatha All Along, Deadpool and Wolverine would've been an excellent place to include any AoS villains. The Chronicoms and Izel would fit very nicely, imo
Brave New World could introduce any number of existing S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Piper is my number one choice. She's not too ostentatious, and she makes for a good tie-in/representative for S.H.I.E.L.D.
Thunderbolts* could have any anti-hero type characters or lower-level agents such as Piper and Davis. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s past exploits being mentioned are the best thing I can think of, tho, I don't think this movie does that well with AoS characters, it doesn't merge well
What If...? is perfect for literally any AoS character/related plot. There are endless possibilities, and so it would not be very difficult to incorporate them. A potential plot could be "what if S.H.I.E.L.D. never fell?"
Daredevil: Born Again, BRING ME DAISY JOHNSON RIGHT NOW. They were raised in the same orphanage and dealing with corrupt politicians is something Daisy did on the daily. I also imagine that Charlie Cox and Chloe Bennet would have wonderful chemistry together
Ironheart, I'm not really sure. We don't know that much about the production, but with what we have, a FitzSimmons cameo would be pretty fun
Both Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars provide excellent opportunities for any AoS character to return
These are what I have so far, but feel free to add on!

This is Hunter... my dad wanted to name me Richard, they decided on Richard Hunter. Then realised- that would make (eventually) my nick name Dick.. and hence Dick Hunter- so they just called Lance. Lance hunter.
"I have friends in here- Bobbi says that we should make it our Joint account and so I did"
"Make sure to add my name in your url!"
"Don't worry I won't!"
Anyway my friends on here

Also FitzSimmons joint blog: @fitzsimmons-officialblog
What happened since leaving S.H.I.E.L.D: I got a job around illegal stuff- worked as a fake lawyer, fake police guy, fake tax guy, as well as fake IT guy just to get information. Mostly it. Bobbi and I got married barely a few months after FitzSimmons and do not have human children. We have a cat Asteroid destroyer... I think you could guess who named her. She's just a few days old.

Okay, so I’m nearing the end of S5 in my latest AOS rewatch, and I saw a few tiktoks, and I just wanna sorta rant for a second.
I may be a massive Daisy stan above literally all else, wbk she’s my best girl… but I believe that Yo-Yo was in the right to kill Ruby Hale. Period.
Firstly, I know revenge isn’t the SHIELD way, I get that, but at the very same time there is so much hypocrisy there surrounding other team members (eg. Coulson had his revenge on Ward, Jemma ALSO tried to get revenge on Ward but failed, Hunter as well, even May was intent on it, etc) so why shouldn’t Yo-Yo also get to have her revenge? Ruby left her disabled for life (and did it on purpose + showed no resentment + would do it again, might I ADD, by literally repeatedly threatening Fitzsimmons with the very same thing). Yo-Yo deserved vengeance, in some way.
I understand Daisy’s motive in wanting to save Ruby, to bring her on as a SHIELD agent and try to give her a new purpose, the same way she was/had- but this never could have happened. SHE CUT YO-YO’S ARMS OFF- DISABLING HER. Allowing her to become a SHIELD agent after this fact would be just as bad as welcoming Ward back onto the team with open arms after what he did to Fitz- which left him with a permanent disability in return too (in a different way but obv similar to Yo-Yo nonetheless). Both Ruby and Ward were HYDRA. Both significantly hurt a team member on PURPOSE. It’s the same deal. Bringing her onto the team would’ve been wrong.
Finally, Daisy claimed Ruby was “coming around” just before Yo-Yo killed her. Daisy, ilysm, but girl. 😭 Ruby literally tried to kill Daisy moments earlier, as well as throw inanimate objects (and Fitzsimmons…) around the room with her mind. She killed Werner by accident (which shows the serious lack of control she had- and how dangerous she was in that moment), not to mention she was refusing to be reasoned with (and couldn’t be). She was completely out of control and it wasn’t going to get better (look at what happened to Creel after he merely touched the Gravitonium- he never improved).
In a way, Yo-Yo did her a favour by killing her. Even if another solution came along in time, Yo-Yo, as the others would regularly say, MADE THE HARD CALL. She did what was best in that moment. Not to mention, Yo-Yo also thought that by killing her, she saved the world. Although this proved false, at the time she thought she was doing the right thing to save all of literal humanity. As I said, in the end, she made the hard call.
Not to mention, Yo-Yo admitted that she’s not proud of what she did. It’s not like she enjoyed killing her. Yet, so many people make her out to be some monster. I hate it.
In conclusion, I’m on Yo-Yo’s side with that whole thing (and hate seeing people- and the team themselves- giving her absolute hell for it). However I truly flip-flop between all the characters during S5 and their many arguments. MAN, that season is always a tough watch for so, so many reasons. It’s good, but painful.
(P.S. I’m convinced most of the people who stan Ruby are just Dove Cameron fans. Which I have nothing against. You do you. 11 year old me was her biggest fan frfr. But other than that, I don’t see why people like her character so much tbh. But alas.)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Inspired Christmas Wishlist
I've been watching a lot of Christmas gift guides recently so I thought I'll make one for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Fandom! I will add why I have some of the items on my list but feel free to use your own reasonings!
Captain America Shield lego set - Phil Coulson being a Captain America fanboy is something that the fandom still holds up even if the show strayed away from that characterization. Coulson would totally have this displayed in his office.
Golden cross necklace - Hopefully this one's not a doom omen.
Hair chalk - Daisy Johnson changes her hair style and coloring every season, and I'm one of those people who want to look like her without making a commitment to permanent changes.
Daisy hair clip - Of course Daisy changing her name to her birth one is an important part of her character.
Telescope - Biochemist Jemma Simmons has several.
Astronomy books - Or any biology book really. Science is an important factor on the show, and astronomy/space is something FitzSimmons often discuss.
Renegades book trilogy - This trilogy is VERY Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. energy, and I won't stop recommending it! Currently on the second book, but the first one is so good!
Doctor Who full series - because we know FitzSimmons are fans, and I think they make several references in show? I don't know, but the majority of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans I know are also Doctor Who fans.
Leather jacket - Get it in black. There are also cosplay ones designed to look like the ones on the show that are great if you can afford them.
Ghost Rider chase lego set - This set's Ghost Rider has Robbie Reye's charger instead of Johnny Blaze's motorcycle.
Fingerless gloves - Something Daisy Johnson or Robbie Reyes would wear.
Monkey jellycat - So maybe Fitz might not be able to get a really monkey, but this one is the best monkey stuffed animal I could find.
Secret Warriors comics - Remember to post long essay comparisons about what they changed for the show.
Gym bag/Gym equipment - You can get a gym bag with the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo on it on Redbubble. Fight like Daisy Johnson!
Redbubble stickers - Support independent artists (post made by an independent artist) <3
Tahiti postcards - It's a magical place.
Red convertible hot wheel - Don't touch Lola.

Don't worry, I'll write more. I actually had a lot, up to Thanos getting the gauntlet, but I wanted to refine it a bit more. I've got a FitzSimmons scene too of course. As well as THE CAVALRY 🤩 Still trying to figure out how best to add a Mack scene, and more of Coulson, Daisy, and Yoyo. We'll see how this post does I suppose
If the AOS team was in Endgame
Steve tightens his shield, glaring at Thanos, ready to get back into the fight, when suddenly his comm link crackles to life.
Steve shakes his head, not believing what he's hearing. Suddenly, the link is clear as day.
"On your left."
He turns to see a portal, and out walks the king of Wakanda and in flies Sam Wilson. More portals appear, and everyone has come back. Stephen Strange walks out of the final portal and Wong quickly finds him.
"Is that everyone?" Strange asks
"What, you wanted more?!" Wong says indignantly.
As Scott Lang crashes through the rubble, releasing Rocket Raccoon, Smart Hulk, and Rhodey, Steves comm link crackles to life once again.
"I was sad to see we didn't get an invite. Mind if we crash the party?"
Captain America's eyes widen. That voice belonged to a dead man. He raises his hand up to the comm. "Coulson?"
"Yeah, and some friends."
Suddenly the ground starts to shake, and a woman seems to levitate safely to the ground. "It's clear here, AC." She says through the comm. A loud whirring is heard from above, and a helicarrier descends on the battleground.
"You didn't think we'd miss this did you Cap?" Coulson said, climbing down from the helicarrier.
"Truth be told I think we all thought you were dead."
"I knew he was still alive." Tony said
"Let's cut the chit-chat, we've got half a universe to save." Agent Mackenzie says gruffly.
"Avengers! Assemble."

For the 212 followers ask, how about Philinda + Coffee Shop AU (where Phil is the barista and May is the customer or they are barista coworkers)
Okay I had an idea and I have NO idea if it came out well but I hope you like it!!
Pairing: Phil Coulson/Melinda May, background Fitzsimmons
Rating: G
Warnings: Mentions of armed robbery and a non fatal shooting
Read on AO3!
If someone had told Phil Coulson thirty years ago that not only would he be running a coffee shop, but he also ran a side business tutoring kids in history and English literature, he would never have believed them. It simply hadn’t been his style— or so he’d thought when he’d been young and feckless.
But as he’d gotten older, he’d realized that what he really wanted was to help people. And so he’d found a way of doing that. More than half of his workers had some kind of record— and not the favorable kind— or desperately needed help in some way. Broke college kids, a handful of ex-cons, at least one person Phil thought might be in the Witness Protection Program, and a host of others made up the motley crew of baristas and table waiters that worked for him at the Shield Coffee House. And after all these years, it had become more of a family than anyone else had ever been to Phil.
He loved every day working side by side with these people, doing his best to help those who needed it and make their customer’s days just a little brighter. But there was always one part of his day that Phil looked forward to a little more than others.
The bell at the door let out a bright ding, and he looked up from his work at the cash register quickly, his heartbeat picking up. To his disappointment, it was only one of their other regulars, Davis. Quickly shifting his frown into a smile, Phil gave him a friendly wave, which the man returned as he moved to order from the next register down.
“Hoping to see someone else?” Phil glanced over his shoulder to see Daisy, one of their most recent additions to the team. She shot him a sly, teasing grin, adding, “She’s never early, you know. It’s only six twenty-eight, you’ve still got like two minutes.”
“Shouldn’t you be working?” Phil asked, ignoring her comment for the sake of his dignity if nothing else. She just laughed and headed back to serving some of their customers.
Phil shook his head, more amused than irritated. The young woman had started working with them a few weeks back, and he was already quite fond of her. Her bright smile and cheeky sense of humor meant it was only a matter of time before she was making friends. And stealing hearts, Phil thought— he’d seen a few of their customers lingering by her register for a little longer than necessary, making conversation. Not that Daisy had noticed, but Phil had a feeling it was only a matter of time.
He turned back to face the door just as the bell chimed again, and a familiar, black clad shape stepped through. Phil felt his heart skip a beat, and a grin spread across his face at the sight.
Melinda May met his eyes, and a very tiny smile quirked the corner of her mouth. Which, Phil had learned, was quite a success on his part. “Morning, Phil,” she said, stepping up to the counter.
“Good morning, May,” Phil said, already moving to prepare her usual order. “Did you do anything fun last night?”
Letting out a snort, she said, “Does that sound like me?”
Melinda May had been one of their most loyal customers for the past three years, and Phil had been in love with her for almost as long. The minute she’d walked into the shop he’d been blown away by her— not just her looks, but her assured manner, her confidence. He’d been incapable of talking to her the first few times, and not just because she didn’t open up to people easily.
But over the years, he’d slowly slipped past the slightly terrifying exterior, and gotten to know the woman herself well. They were friends— and Phil sometimes wondered if they could be something more.
The timing hadn’t been great when they’d first met— Melinda and her husband had just split up. But now, things were different. Maybe. He hoped. If he could get his courage up.
“Fair point,” he said teasingly, pouring hot water into a to-go mug and adding a tea bag. “Are cops even allowed to have hobbies? More importantly, are they even allowed to drink something other than coffee?”
Melinda rolled her eyes, that tiny smile curving the corner of her mouth again at the age-old argument that they really only kept up for fun these days. “Well, some of us have to retain our brain cells,” she pointed out. “If we all baked them away with your coffee, who would fight the crime?”
“As if anything could stop you,” Phil said, adding a little milk and clamping a lid over the mug. He handed it to her, and Melinda took it from him, their fingers brushing against each other. Phil felt a flutter go through him at the contact, and he sensed Melinda pause for just a moment. Wait. Is she—
But then she was pulling away, giving him a nod in thanks. “Have a good rest of your day,” she said, and disappeared through the door again.
Phil watched her go for a long moment, disappointment settling inside of him. For a moment there, he’d thought that Melinda had, well, felt what he felt. Come on, Phil, you’re acting like a highschooler with a crush, he scolded himself. Be realistic. But there was still a part of him that wondered, that hoped…
Brushing the thoughts away, he turned— and spotted three of his employees standing behind him, their arms folded. Daisy, to no one’s surprise, was the ringleader, and she was flanked by Jemma, a biochem student who made surprisingly good lattes, and Fitz, who— wasn’t technically an employee. But he let Phil pay him in free coffee and food to fix the espresso machine when it broke down, and he certainly didn’t seem to mind hanging around. Phil suspected it was Jemma’s influence.
“What?” he said, giving them a skeptical look.
“Nothing,” Daisy said, her expression and tone making it beyond clear that it was not nothing. “Just— why haven’t you asked her out?”
“What, Melinda? Why would I ask her out?” Phil said, attempting to play dumb. Judging by the disgusted looks they gave him, they were not convinced.
“You should ask her for dinner,” Jemma suggested, her eyes lighting up. “You’ve liked her for a very long time. Or that’s what some of the customers say when they come in.”
“What customers?” Phil demanded.
“Doesn’t matter,” Daisy said, waving a hand dismissively. “The point is— look, Coulson, you work so hard to make sure everyone else is happy. You gave me a second chance, you’ve hired people who no one else wanted, you even help kids with their homework, for crying out. You deserve a little happiness of your own.”
Phil couldn’t hold back a smile, touched that they cared so much. “Thank you, Daisy,” he told her. “But Melinda and I are just friends. I don’t think she cares about me in that way, and I have no intention of pushing things if she doesn’t.”
“Not to be that person,” Fitz said, speaking for the first time, “but why does she keep coming here if she’s not interested.”
“Because we’re on her way to work, and she likes our service,” Phil said patiently.
“Or are we?” Daisy wiggled her eyebrows as she held up her phone. “I checked on Google Maps— we’re actually five, ten minutes out of her way. She’s coming her for a reason, Coulson.”
“How do you have her home address?” Jemma asked, looking startled.
“Also doesn’t matter.” Fixing her gaze on Phil, Daisy said, “She cares about you. You shouldn’t give up on something like that.”
Phil felt himself hesitate. On the one hand, he didn’t want to push himself into Melinda’s life. On the other, it was Melinda. If anyone was going to have solid boundaries about this kind of thing, it was her.
But then there was the part of him that was terrified of losing her friendship, if he’d read the situation wrong. Phil knew that while it was hard to just be Melinda’s friend, it would be harder not to have her at all.
So all he said was, “I’ll think about it, okay? Now, you two had better get back to work, and Fitz, don’t you have a biochem exam to study for?”
“Don’t remind me,” the boy sighed.
“I can give you a hand on my break,” Jemma offered instantly. “After all, it is my speciality.”
“Oh— yeah, I, uh, that’d be nice,” Fitz said, turning faintly pink.
“Excellent! It’s a date.” Jemma swept back into the kitchen before she could see Fitz’s eyes go wide, and he turned a deeper shade of red and bolted back to his seat. Feeling a satisfied smile crossing his face, Phil caught sight of Daisy giving him a look.
“What?” he said.
“Hypocrite much?” She shot at him.
“Hey, even you have to admit those two need a little help,” Phil pointed out. “Now get back to work, I’m not paying you to judge my love life.”
“Maybe you should,” Daisy mumbled, but she headed to the cash register anyways.
Phil, on the other hand, had a very hard time concentrating on work rather than Melinda May. Because he wouldn’t lie— he wanted a relationship with this woman. There was a good possibility she only thought of them as friends, of course.
But then he remembered the times she’d lingered in the shop, talking to him. Or stopped in after work to visit. Or the fact that she was the first one to guess that he’d named the Shield Coffee House in honor of Captain America. And Phil wondered. And he hoped.
By the end of the day, he was far from ready to make a decision about anything— it had been a long day, filled with a few mishaps involving one of the coffee makers nearly exploding and more than a few irate customers. So when the day was over, he locked up the shop and headed to his tiny apartment above it, ready to crash.
But then, as a matter of habit, he’d flicked on the news, and the first headline hit him in the chest like a ton of bricks.
There had been an armed robbery a few blocks away. A cop had been on the scene, and had tried to defuse the situation. But the perp had panicked, and fired on the cop, who’d only been a rookie. But his more experienced, older partner had shoved him out of the way and taken the bullet herself.
That cop’s name was Melinda May.
Phil froze where he was, panic flooding through him. It only seeped away when he heard the reporter say that Detective May was in stable condition, and would likely recover from her injuries as good as new.
Oh, thank God. Phil dropped onto the couch, weak with relief. As the fear drained away, all he could really think was, I almost lost her. I almost lost her and she never would have known how I felt. And he didn’t think he could go on living that way.
So the next morning, around late morning, he made a to-go mug of tea, left Jemma and Daisy in charge, and headed to the nearby hospital.
It took a little persuasion to convince the receptionist to tell him where Melinda was. Luckily, Phil was something of a people person, and ten minutes after he arrived he was on his way up to Melinda’s room, heart pounding.
Should I be doing this? He wondered as he knocked on the door. It felt presumptuous, bold, possibly a little stupid. But he’d gone too far to back out now.
“This better not be about my stupid pain meds again,” growled a familiar voice, and Phil couldn’t hold back a grin. “I told you, I’m doing just fine.”
Pushing open the door, Phil said, “I’ll take that as a ‘come in’.”
Melinda was reclined in bed, propped up by a few pillows. Her gaze flashed to him, widening with surprise. “Phil— what are you doing here?”
“What, and let my favorite customer miss out on her daily tea?” Phil said, holding up the paper cup he held. “I bought that tea just for you, and no one else drinks it.”
“Not no one else,” May pointed out. “There’s that friend of Daisy's.”
“Yeah, well, he has questionable taste,” Phil said teasingly. Growing more serious, he asked, “How’re you feeling?”
“I’d feel better if they’d let me out of this stupid hospital,” Melinda grumbled, which was such a her thing to say when she’d just been shot that Phil couldn’t help but grin again. “It just hit my shoulder, I’ll be fine—” she let out a grunt of pain as she started to sit up, wincing.
Concern zipped through Phil’s chest, and he hurried forward, setting the tea and the paper bag he carried on the nightstand. “Here, let me help you.” Slipping an arm behind her back, he gently supported her as she shifted into a more comfortable sitting position. “Better?”
Melinda’s eyes moved to meet his, and for a moment Phil forgot to breathe. She was only inches away, closer than they’d ever really been. His gaze flicked down to her lips, and he wondered if this would be the time, if he’d finally be brave enough—
She moved forward suddenly, lips meeting his before he had a chance to move. The kiss was brief, but it told Phil everything he needed to know. If he hadn’t been in love before, he definitely was now.
Pulling back, a small smile flickered across Melinda’s face. “Better,” she murmured.
Taking a quick breath, Phil said, “So, uh, you just decided to do that?”
Shrugging, then wincing, Melinda said, “Well, I did get shot. You can’t blame me.”
“Fair enough,” Phil said, and he moved in to steal another kiss.

To Begin Again Ch 4
They’d been stuck in the past for a little over a week without any incident. Jemma seemed stuck in a never ending loop of wanting to be with Fitz as much as possible, but also avoiding him. Daisy knew it was giving Fitz a bit of a headache and a lot of confusion, as she’d be following him around one minute, then be nowhere to be found another.
Daisy’s days had just involved avoidance, of all the guys. She couldn’t let herself get attached to Coulson only to lose him all over again. She couldn’t think of him like he was alive. But watching Fitz ramble on innocently was just too much. She’d tried, right at the beginning, to talk with him, but he’d gone on a happy little rant about something technology related and Daisy couldn’t stop the well of emotion that had come over her. He might not have had Jemma back then, but they had had each other. Every time they’d tried taking the next step in their relationship something had separated them. At this time he was so happy, so good and sincere. And she missed him so much. But this Fitz was almost as lost to her as Coulson.
She hadn’t noticed how weirdly attached to her Ward had been the first time around. But now, when she was doing her utmost to spend as little time in the same room as him as possible, she found him extraordinary hard to escape. The realization of what was happening made her want to gag and she couldn’t help the shudder that passed through her.
Daisy found little time during the day to spend with May or Jemma, so her nights had been spent split between sneaking into the cockpit with May, or staying in her bunk with Jemma. The never seemed to find the opportunity to all come together at once, in secret. But the time they did find was absolutely vital, because Daisy knew that none of them could have made it without the support of the others. As normal and steady as they seemed during the day, in view of the guys, the truth was that this was tearing all of their hearts to pieces.
As much as Daisy didn’t want to admit it, the longer they were there, the less she could deny that they were in the actual past and not some sort of simulation. A simulation would have made it all so much easier to deal with, because once they escaped it would be over and done. They wouldn’t have to deal with things the same way, since nothing about it would be real. But if it was real, she’d have to relive all her traumas once again, while also knowing that some small change could bring people back to life, or kill them. It was beyond terrifying.
She wished she could distract herself with training, but she wouldn’t be able to explain the sudden jump in skill. She found quiet moments here and there to do some, but nothing like she wanted. So instead she put everything she could into the search. But progress in that department was extremely slow.
But despite all that, the biggest struggle had been pushing down the growing ache and desperation within her, created by the loss of her powers. This wasn’t the first time she’d lost her powers, but it’d never been as complete as this, nor for as long. There had also been other things to focus on, constant danger and urgent missions. Now she was left with her mind, and time to waste. Despite their situation, there wasn’t actually any imminent danger and they couldn’t seclude themselves away in search for a solution. So Daisy was left with time for the feeling to fester and grow until she found she couldn’t keep pushing away the numbness.
Despite her best efforts, she still found herself easily startled, unable to get over the instinct to rely on her sense of vibrations. She could no longer sense people long before they reached her. The world was dull and still. She couldn’t feel it like she should and it ate at her constantly.
It was late, sometime after midnight, and Daisy couldn’t sleep. She’d laid in bed for as long as she could, trying to ignore it, but even Jemma’s comforting presence couldn’t ground her the way she needed. So she’d headed to the kitchen area and prepared a cup of tea, from May’s hidden stash. She sat down at the counter and attempted some meditation to relax.
But, the world felt empty, numb. Daisy gripped the mug tight, rubbing her thumb back and forth across the smooth ceramic. How strange. Is this really what the world had felt like for over two decades of her life? She was holding the mug, could feel the texture under her fingertips.  And yet, there was nothing beyond that, just empty space, void nothingness where she saw the mug was.
At times she felt like she was floating, with nothing to ground her.
The beautiful harmony of the world had been silenced. The constant vibrations left far from her reach and suddenly nothing made sense. She couldn’t hear, couldn’t feel. How could people possibly live like this? It was almost suffocating, being confined to her physical body like this, unable to sense anything beyond the cage that was her skin.
A band tightened around her chest. Was she getting any air? She couldn’t feel it. She took deep gasping breaths. Why couldn’t she feel anything? She needed to feel something. Anything.
Please.
She staggered to her feet, the mug slipping from her grasp and shattering on the ground unnoticed. The silence of the night was the only witness to her panicked stumble to the cargo hold, where the exercise equipment lay. An older stereo sat in the corner. Her fingers clumsily shuffled through the CDs beside it to find something with lots of heavy base. She put it in, turning up the volume as loud as possible. The thumping music sent vibrations through the metal beneath her feet and the air. It traveled all the way to her lungs and breathing finally became a little easier. But it wasn’t enough.
She grabbed the boombox and brought it over to the punching bag. Setting it down next to her, so as the feel as much of the vibrations as possible, she started pounding on the bag. Each punch sent shock-waves through her arm, and through the bag. It felt good. Her knuckles scraped the rough leather over and over. Daisy failed to slow down or even notice when blood started dripping.Normally, when working with a punching bag, she’d wrap her hands, but right then, the idea of any padding between her and the vibrations made her sick. She needed every iota of feeling.
She kept at it for what must have been hours. She couldn’t stop. If she did, the numbness would return. But eventually exhaustion overcame fear, and the rapid strikes slowed until Daisy was left weakly leaning on the bag, tapping it with bruised and bloodied hands in a never ending rhythm. Her eyes ached to close, but every time they did, the dark nothingness of the world shot them right back open again.
That’s how May found her, bloodshot eyes staring at nothing, slipping down the bag to the ground, unable to hold up her own weight. She said nothing, gentle hands pulling Daisy away from the battered bag. Warm arms wrapped around her and picked her up. A quiet heartbeat thumped in her ear, and Daisy felt some small portion of her soul relax. Exhaustion tugged harder, but still she fought it.
As she felt herself being lowered into a soft bed, she ached at the incoming loss of warmth. But it didn’t pull away. Instead she heard a confused groan from Jemma, and felt May shuffle them all around until Daisy found herself leaning against May, Jemma tucked against her other side, their arms wrapped around her. And then, a vibration sounded through May’s chest, where Daisy’s head rested, a lullaby, at first hummed, the sung softly but beautifully.
Something within Daisy released, and finally her eyes slipped closed, succumbing to the draw of sleep.

Note
My request. If you're taking them.
Daisy Johnson dating a cuddly reader would include:
ooh, okay i love this one so much! cuddling with daisy is something i can only dream about
edit: just realized it's daisy johnson dating a cuddly reader but nevertheless most of what i wrote is accurate
library
aos bookshelf
Tumblr media
cuddling with daisy johnson would include:
she's a softy, okay?
daisy’s love language is for sure physical touch / affection
however that being said, she is scared to touch you at first, scared that she’ll hurt you or lose you
but you’re quick to reassure her that it’s okay and you trust her
it takes a lot of convincing before she lets herself be vulnerable and relax
so when she finally does, it takes a moment for you to notice but when you do, you couldn’t fight off the smile.
she was finally trusting herself enough to let herself be vulnerable and allow herself to just be there in the moment not worrying about things that haven’t happened yet
once she gets comfortable enough, she’d crave for your touch and want to be in your arms at all times
or at least feel your skin on hers
her hold you tightens sometimes during cuddle sessions, her fear of losing you coming to the surface making you turn in her arms so that your faces are inches apart
"i'm not going anywhere,” you would promise, leaving kisses on her cheeks and mouth
her grip would loosen but still remain tight
you didn’t complain because you gripped her just as tight - the same fear coursing through you
cuddling or touching daisy soon became part of your daily routine
the walls she built after losing lincoln came down and she allowed herself to be more... well, herself around you
she allowed herself to believe that you weren’t going anywhere anytime soon
“i love you,” daisy said one day while cuddling and you could’ve sworn that your heart jumped out of your chest
she had been too scared to say it until then
she wanted to be sure you weren’t going anywhere when she said those three littles words
being with you - in your arms after a long and hard mission, she knew you wouldn’t leave or die on her if you could help it
sometimes when she couldn’t get the words out to tell you just how much you mean to her, she would grip your hand or hold you tighter than normal so she could get her message across
and you understood it every time

salty ask list
1, 4, 5
have a great day/night bub!
I found this in my drafts from idk when oops. I'll do it in general for every fandom cause why not.
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
If you know me, you know about Wolfstar, but I could add many HP ships (almost all) especially the now popular ones: Jily, Jegulus, like almost all canon ships. HP really fell flat on relationships.
But wait, there's more. One of the oldest pairings that are the reoccurence of me just not getting fan favorite ships is for example FitzSimmons from Agents of SHIELD series. You know that pairing that's writers' favorite and you just know they were meant to be perfect and full of dynamics and everything but they just fall flat because it's obvious and there's too much forced drama around them just for the sake of it and ughh. They should have just put Gemma with Daisy. Then there's Catradora. Enough said. The fans just completely ruined it for me.
Also since I came back to GOT recently, I have never understood will I never understand the hype of Brienne/Tormund. They seem so popular simply because Tormund finds her attractive, but I find his behavior towards her disgusting, to the point of harassment. The only way he talks about her is in a sexual sense and about the children they would make, he doesn't respect her, she's a borderline fetish for him. The fact that I've seen people say *he* would treat her right is laughable. While we're at GOT the whole Targaryen incest thing, I will never understand. Jon/Daenerys, Rhaenerys/Daemon, their popularity unsettles me. Jon and Daenerys were at least close in age, even thought they had the most bland chemistry on screen, at least it wasn't predatory, but Daemon and Rheanyra is just something I'm horrified that it's popular. Confirms once again that if fans find the people attractive they don't hold the characters to the same standards.
In Marvel I don't get most of the ships, I don't know if someone people are just desperate to see certain things that are just not there or...the first thing I think about is Stucky, Stony, Thor/Bruce etc. Even the canon ones are very meh, good thing I don't watch the MCU for romance. It sucks.
4. Do you have a NOTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP?
Brienne/Tormund, Rhaenyra/Daemon, Catradora, Wolfstar. Almost all are pretty big which like...why...
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
You have not seen fucking insane until you saw Wolfstar and Catradora fans. Those people need fucking therapy and monitored screen time so they can go outside every day because Jesus christ. Chronically online.

We are picking sides because the writers picked a side too when they had FitzSimmons and Deke act like colossal assholes to Daisy after the incident. Let's add Yo-yo to that list, despite her being an inhuman. Despite her claim that she always wanted to be able to decide when to use her powers. And no one went to Daisy to offer her any kind of comfort. Coulson is never told, or if he is then we don't see his reaction. We even see Fitz bring up the times she was brainwashed, grieving, or manipulated into "betraying" SHIELD. As if that suddenly makes what he did to her okay?
Moreover, any lingering trauma that Daisy might have had just vanishes on its own in season 6.
The writers chose Fitz so I am firmly on Daisy's side. I would acknowledge he is a victim if the character himself acted like what he did was wrong.
I do blame the writers instead of anyone else because obviously, the way Fitz acted is a reflection of their thought process. It's also true that the incident has made some of Fitz's actions before season 5 worse somehow.
This is sorta rant-y, but why are some people still picking sides regarding the Daisy/Fitz thing in S5 like guys, it’s 2024.
Both of them suffered for what happened. Both of them came out of it traumatised. Fitz was not truly in control of his actions, but Daisy’s reaction was more than valid. Real Fitz or not, he literally cut her neck open and could’ve killed her/condemned the world to being destroyed. Also, no one knew if he would have another ‘episode’ like that afterwards. The safest option for everyone was to lock him up.
Therefore, if I see anyone saying Daisy was wrong for that decision, it’s on sight atp.
I have a whole ass mini essay on this topic somewhere but goddamnnn. Can we stop blaming either of them? Let’s blame the writers instead.

Visiting a pumpkin patch
Rating: General
Fandom: Agents of Shield
Warnings: None
Summary: Fitz, Simmons, and Alya visit a pumpkin patch festival for the first time together.
______________________________________________________________
Tumblr media
It has been a few months since Fitz and Simmons finally retired from SHIELD and moved away to their cottage England. Being back on Earth after so many months in space meant there was an adjustment period for everyone especially Alya who whose first day on Earth had been the fateful day when Simmons and Fitz prepared to help save the team and the world one last time. For the Fitzsimmons family this just meant there were a lot of firsts.
One of these firsts was Alya experiencing the different seasons for the first time. Sure Fitz and Simmons did their best to teach her about the basics of Earth but learning about them and actually experiencing were two totally different things. During the spring Alya managed to spend almost every second of her day outside watching as flowers bloomed, bees gathered the pollen from the flowers, birds flew overhead, and squirrels and chipmunks raced to find the nuts they hid. The nights were calm as Alya studied and marveled over everything she had seen before eventually falling asleep only to wake up the next morning ready to explore again.
Summers were filled with just as much excitement if not more. With Alya out of school she spent nearly every moment of her day and night outside. During the day she would take pictures different animals and insects that would visit the backyard documenting their habits. Alya took samples of the soil and the different plants and fruits and vegetables that were in the backyard. Alya’s interest in the environment eventually led Fitz and Simmons to build a playhouse with a small lab inside it so that Alya could stay outside longer safely. The nights were filled with even more excitement than the days sometimes once Alya discovered fireflies for the first time. Alya was amazed by the beauty of bioluminescence of the bugs and how they seemingly disappeared only to show up in another spot a few feet away as they lit up again. She spent hours every night trying to catch one in her hands for a few seconds before releasing it. The discovery of fireflies quickly set off a passion for finding more occurrences of bioluminescence in nature.
Any days not spent at their cottage were spent at the beach or roaming around the small town in search for the best ice cream and other treats they could find. Alya loved every moment of exploring and learning more about Earth. Summer was filled with friends visiting from across the world as they took time off from missions. One of the most memorable weeks was when Daisy, Sousa, Kora, Mack, Elena, and Flint all came to visit for a week.
Soon enough the summer heat and the bright green leaves gave way to the cool breezes and changing colors of nature of autumn. For the family the changing of seasons meant new firsts were to be experienced. It wasn’t until the third of week of autumn that Fitz and Simmons finally ironed out the perfect weekend to surprise Alya.
It’s a cold and cloudy Sunday afternoon when the Fitz Simmons family take a drive to the countryside where a local pumpkin patch festival is being held. Alya’s eyes light up as she sees the different rides and booths set up around the farm. It doesn’t take long for Alya to spot the exhibit that she wants to go to first.
“Mom! Dad! Can we go to the petting zoo?” Alya says wiggling in her seat with unbridled excitement.
“Of course, Monkey.” Fitz says as he parks the car before helping Alya out of her car seat as Simmons grabs the backpack filled with their lunch and bottles of water.
“Do you think they’ll have monkeys here?”
“Ah, probably not.” Fitz says. When he sees the disappointed look on his daughter’s face he quickly adds, “But maybe we can go to the zoo again one day and see if the keepers will let us get a behind the scenes look at how they take care of the monkeys.”
“You really think they would let us do that?”
“Yeah, I do.”
“And for today you can get your face painted like a monkey.” Simmons says kneeling down in front of Alya. “How does that sound?”
Alya jumps up and down clapping her hands at the prospect of getting her face painted. “Can we do that first instead?”
“Yeah, I think we can manage that. What do you think Fitz?”
“I think that’s a great idea.”
The family heads into the festival pointing the different booths they want to come back to. When they reach the face painting booth they stand in line for a few minutes. By the time they get to the front Alya has convinced her dad to get his face painted with her. While Fitz and Alya get their faces painted Simmons stands to the side and takes multiple pictures and videos capturing the moment. Its not long before Fitz and Alya are finished getting their faces painted and Simmons trades places with them. Instead of getting her face painted like a monkey she decides to have stars painted around her face.
Once everyone’s face is painted with plenty of proof documenting the occasion, they make their way over to the petting zoo.
“Dad, look at the rabbits!” Alya says as she runs over to enclosure where the rabbits are being held. She kneels down to pet a medium size rabbit with coarse light brown fur that is close to the gate. “They’re so cute.”
Simmons and Fitz sit down next to Alya.
“They are really cute. You know when I was younger my parents had a garden in the backyard and we used to see rabbits in our backyard all the time.” Simmons says.
“Do you think we can make our own garden so that rabbits will visit us?”
“I think we can figure something out.”
“Alya do you want to know a secret about rabbits?” Fitz asks.
Alya nods her head excitedly, a large smile blossoming across her face.
“Carrots aren’t actually rabbits favorite food.”
“Really?”
“Really. You wanna know what their real favorite food is?”
“Yes.”
“Hay. They also eat grass. Those are really the only two things that rabbits eat naturally.”
“Do you think the owner will let me feed the rabbits some hay?”
“I don’t see why not. Why don’t you go ask her?” Simmons says pointing to the lady sitting in a chair next to the rabbits.
Fitz and Simmons watched as Alya ran up to the woman as she animatedly asked about feeding the rabbits. They saw the woman chuckle at Alya’s excitedness before handing her a pieces of straw and waving over to them.
When Alya finished feeding the rabbits they eventually made their way to the other animals in the petting zoo. Fitz and Simmons loved seeing Alya’s face light up every time she learned new facts about the different animals in the zoo, including giant tortoises, alpacas, and ponies. They all took turns taking photos with the animals. After they finish visiting all of the animals they make their way to the rest of the carnival where they play numerous carnival games. Fitz even manages to beat a few games winning multiple large toys.
By the time they leave the festival the sun is setting causing the sky to glow in different shades of blue, purple, and orange. The drive home is quiet with the only sounds in the car being Alya’s snoring and the low volume of the radio.
Fitz and Simmons shared a short look communicating everything that needed to be said without a single word. They couldn’t wait for the million other firsts they would have together as a family.
