“Physical 100” is such a crazy concept to me because if you were to make an American equivalent to the show, you could end up with an episode where NBA’s Steph Curry gets into a wrestling match with NFL’s Brock Purdy. Or the YouTuber “Yoga with Adrienne” wrestling with WWE’s Becky Lynch.

i want to explore a topic that im currently hyper fixated on and it's the notion that to be free, we must be ugly. i google this and nothing related pops up so i think im going to have to go rogue in some way. i'm looking at industries as a whole as if they're all one moving part and not seperate from one another. the fashion, the fitness, the wellness, the beauty etc and just how much money they make off of us all in an effort to fit into the mold they keep changing in order to keep the machine going. not only that, but also the amount of energy and time we spend investing in these things rather than truly exploring the depths of our human experience whilst we have this opportunity of being ALIVE.
anyway, if you have any input id love to discuss! book recommendations too!

The fitness industry has a history of exclusion, catering to middle- and upper-class white people with disposable income. The costs associated with working out make it inaccessible to millions. Exercise also requires time and a safe space to move around in—luxuries millions more don’t have. Just as the rich often get richer, the fit often get fitter, while the poor get sicker. And then there’s the problematic fact that exercising has, for several decades, been linked to virtue, creating stigmas against people who can’t or don’t want to or even don’t look like they work out.

MYTH BUSTER FOR YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY
Fitness and health are two of the most talked about topics in today's society. There is no shortage of information available on the internet, but not all of it is accurate. With so many myths and misconceptions surrounding fitness and health, it can be difficult to know what information to trust. That's where a myth buster about fitness and health comes in. The purpose of this blog is to separate fact from fiction and provide accurate information to help you make informed decisions about your health and fitness. By debunking common myths and misconceptions, we aim to empower you to take control of your health and achieve your fitness goals. So, whether you're a seasoned fitness enthusiast or just starting out, this blog is a must-read for anyone looking to improve their health and wellness.
Here are 12 myths and real facts about fitness and health:
Myth 1: No Pain, No Gain Fact:
While pushing yourself during a workout is important, it is not necessary to experience pain to make progress. In fact, experiencing pain during exercise can indicate an injury or strain. It's important to listen to your body and adjust your workout accordingly.
Myth 2: Carbs are Bad Fact:
Carbs are an important source of energy and are necessary for a balanced diet. It's important to choose complex carbohydrates, like whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, instead of simple carbs like sugar and white flour.
Myth 3: You Have to Work Out for Hours to See Results Fact:
You don't have to spend hours at the gym to see results. In fact, research has shown that short, high-intensity workouts can be just as effective as longer, low-intensity workouts.
Myth 4: Muscle Turns into Fat if You Stop Working Out Fact:
Muscle and fat are two different types of tissue. When you stop working out, your muscles may shrink, but they will not turn into fat. However, if you stop exercising and continue to eat the same amount of food, you may gain weight in the form of fat.
Myth 5: Spot Training Can Reduce Fat in Specific Areas Fact:
While you can target specific muscle groups with exercise, you can't spot reduce fat in specific areas. Fat loss occurs throughout the body, not just in the area where you are working out.
Myth 6: You Can't Build Muscle After 30 Fact:
Age is not a limiting factor when it comes to building muscle. As long as you are consistent with your workouts and eating a balanced diet, you can build muscle at any age.
Myth 7: All Supplements are Safe Fact:
Not all supplements are safe or effective. Some supplements can have harmful side effects or interact with medications. It's important to speak with a doctor or a registered dietitian before starting any supplement regimen.
Myth 8: Stretching Before Exercise Prevents Injury Fact:
Stretching before exercise can help improve flexibility, but there is limited evidence to support the idea that stretching can prevent injury. It's more important to warm up with light aerobic exercise before starting a workout.
Myth 9: You Should Drink 8 Glasses of Water a Day Fact:
The "8 glasses of water a day" rule is a myth. The amount of water you need depends on many factors, such as your body size, activity level, and climate. A general guideline is to drink enough water so that your urine is light yellow in color.
Myth 10: Crunches are the Best Way to Get a Six-Pack Fact:
Crunches can help strengthen your abdominal muscles, but they won't reduce belly fat. To see your abs, you need to reduce your overall body fat through a combination of diet and exercise.
Myth 11: Sweating More Means You're Burning More Calories Fact:
Sweating is a natural response to heat and does not necessarily mean you are burning more calories. The amount of calories you burn during exercise depends on many factors, including your body size, activity level, and intensity of the workout.
Myth 12: You Can Eat Anything You Want if You Work Out Enough Fact:
While exercise is important, it's not a free pass to eat whatever you want. A healthy diet is an essential part of a healthy lifestyle and can't be compensated for by exercise alone.
These are some of the common myths and facts about fitness and health. It's important to always consult with a doctor or a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new exercise or diet program.

Fitness Trends for a Healthier Lifestyle
The fitness industry has experienced steady growth in recent years, driven by consumers prioritizing health and wellness. Gyms across the country are reaping the benefits of this trend. As 2024 progresses, we delved into the data to examine the sector’s performance during the first months of the year. Did the strong showing in January persist beyond the season of New Year’s resolutions? And how did major gym chains like Planet Fitness, Life Time, Crunch Fitness, and EōS fare in Q1 2024 compared to last year?
Key Takeaways:
Steady Growth: Year-over-year (YoY) visits to fitness chains increased nearly every week from January to April 2024.
Diverse Demand: Visits to major fitness chains, from premium options like Life Time to more affordable ones like Planet Fitness, increased or remained steady, indicating a demand for diverse gym options.
Engaged Members: Data shows a strong correlation between visit frequency and length of stay at gyms. Chains that attract frequent gym-goers also see higher shares of long workouts.
Analyzing 2024's Fitness Surge
Fitness has been a consistent success story over the past few years, and the trend shows no signs of slowing down. YoY visits to fitness facilities were up nearly every week between January and April 2024, with the exception of the week of January 15th, when an Arctic blast kept many indoors. Even during the week of March 25th, Easter celebrations did not significantly deter gym-goers, demonstrating impressive resilience compared to a non-holiday week in 2023.
Diverse Options for a Growing Market
Fitness industry analysis of visit trends for eight major fitness chains highlights that the current fitness environment supports a variety of chains. Both premium and mid-range options like Life Time and LA Fitness, as well as more affordable choices like Planet Fitness and Crunch Fitness, saw visits increase or remain steady throughout most of Q1. All chains experienced YoY visit increases in April.
Catering to Varied Fitness Preferences
Gym-goers' habits vary, with some visiting several times a week for extended sessions, while others have a more relaxed fitness schedule. Leading chains’ visitation patterns reveal that gyms succeed by catering to these diverse preferences.
The gym market research shows a strong correlation between a chain’s share of frequent visitors (those visiting eight or more times a month) and the share of visitors staying longer than 90 minutes. Chains like Life Time and EōS attract highly dedicated gym-goers, while others like Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness draw more casual visitors.
The positive visitation trends for both fitness chains attracting frequent visitors for longer workouts and gyms catering to casual exercisers indicate multiple successful models in the fitness industry for 2024.
Conclusion
The interest in gyms remains strong and shows no signs of waning. Visits continue to grow YoY, and the industry offers options for every fitness enthusiast. Whether you prefer occasional visits or a structured workout regimen, there’s something for everyone.

How to Burn Body Fat and Lose Weight
Tumblr media
Many people are increasingly conscious about their looks, shape, and weight. This development is quite positive and has resulted in a spike in the number of enthusiasts attending gym, yoga, karate, aerobic, and dance sessions.
This trend is great news for entrepreneurs in the fitness industry, who are stepping up their game to meet the growing demand. New shops are opening up everywhere. Thanks to advertisements, agencies, and social media, we are constantly influenced by images of fit and attractive models dressed in designer wear. Suddenly, everyone wants to look stunning and emulate their fabulous idols.
Obesity
Being obese is not healthy due to the dangers posed by cholesterol (fats). Unhealthy eating habits result in fats clogging artery walls. Here's how the system works: When the heart pumps blood, it is carried through a complex network of veins to the organs of the body. When the artery is clogged by cholesterol, blood flow is reduced. The artery enlarges and may eventually burst if this condition persists for a long time. This can lead to chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, stroke, cardiovascular disease, or heart failure.
Warning: Cardiovascular disease is a serious red flag. Heart failure can lead to death!
