More thoughts on Caitlyn kidnapping and "I didn't know ur mother was there"
Guys... I saw some comments on the kidnap scene bc I think a lot of people fail to see how traumatizing the whole experience was for Caitlyn. And as someone who first watched Arcane only a few days before s2 dropped, I say it makes a ton of difference when you look at Caitlyn's motivations throughout s2.
What was the commentary? Well first look at this
Tumblr media
Caitlyn's eyes are full of tears. Either she was holding on not to cry in front of Vi or she was crying before, or even both. She even flinched when Jinx almost touched her shoulder. Caitlyn was really really scared of Jinx
But the comments that made my head explode was something so simple that how I didn't notice before?
Tumblr media
HOW THE HELL JINX KNEW ABOUT THE CUPCAKE THING?
Vi never told her and we never saw Jinx hearing Vi calling Caitlyn like that. So how the hell she knew? Did Jinx torture Caitlyn enough for the poor girl to give her this info? Mind you, Jinx was unhinged and this is the type of info that could have made her lose it and kill Cait over jealousy.
And the fact that all of this was forgotten and not processed by Caitlyn bc her mom died right after? Damn.
You can and should disagree with all of Caitlyn's actions while she was under Ambessa's manipulation but you can't say she didn't have reasons to be that angry, especially at Jinx.
Jinx always had a beef with Caitlyn under jealousy, and after all that I mentioned and the attack that victimized Cassandra, Caitlyn had all the reasons to think that the attack was personal. Of course, in the beginning she was still holding herself but after the attack in the ceremony and almost dying there and specially after having Jinx on her aim again, and again Vi stopping her from shooting. She snapped.
"but she was willing to kill Isha, a child" she would not miss. Literally, that's her whole thing lmao. It's like saying Vi wouldn't take a punch or Jinx wouldn't be able to make the weapon.
Anyway, moving on
When Jinx is depressed in the cell and Caitlyn is already tired of all the hate and how it made her do bad shit, Jinx says "I didn't know your mother was there. It would not have made a difference, but I didn't know" it was when Caitlyn realized that it wasn't personal.
And in a way, it's like Jinx saying "sorry, but also not sorry". It's her acknowledging the pain she caused even if she would shoot no matter what.
I think at this moment, and after seeing Jinx just chilling hugging Warwick, saving her life and probably saw Jinx being devastated abt Isha's death...that Caitlyn realized that Vi was right, Jinx did change.
I don't think she forgave Jinx but she was willing to let her go, both physically and metaforically.

okay but one thing i’ve been thinking abt since i’ve watched s2 ep. 5 is how vi initially didn’t trust jinx at all, which makes complete sense and is very fair.
like, when they arrive at the tunnels in order to see vander, vi stays behind both jinx and isha bc of her lack of trust in them, and it’s the same when they enter them. vi refuses to go first, and jinx accepts, allowing her and isha to go first.
but then, when jinx admits that she wants to basically have a do-over together in order to save vander, and says “besides… he’s YOUR father, too.” that leads to vi developing a sense of trust in jinx, even if it’s small— it’s still a start.
you can see it in the way she’s touched by jinx’s words, even if she’s avoiding showing it, and vi now walks ahead of her, allowing jinx to walk behind her & establishing some trust, like i said. she’s also stepping back into that protector role, the one she felt she lost.
when they break into vander’s old room, vi is the one who goes first, ahead of jinx and isha, in a very protective manner. and, when vander (warwick) shows up, vi even tries to push jinx away while she backs up, in a “come on, WE have to go” way. she’s still trying to protect her. :(
don’t even get me started on the way vi says, “he’s going to kill you”, and then throws herself in front of jinx in order to protect her, and by extent, isha, just like she always has.
god, i love them. 😭 VI LOVES HER SISTER SO MUCH.

There's a whole bunch of things I gotta say Abt act 3 that I don't have time to, but my god the SYMBOLISM, so I'm just gonna do the couple of obvious ones that stuck out to me.
Spoiler warning ofc.
In ep7 when jayce was in the pit, he broke his leg and used the design for viktors leg brace (which he knew well enough to recreate, the two likely worked on it together in the past which I love) and then painstakingly climbs out. He's in the undercity at the time.
The whole sequence, due to him wearing the leg brace, is very unsubtly a parallel to Viktors journey of metaphorically crawling his way up out of Zaun and into Piltover. Which is to be assumed as his backstory before meeting Jayce, and was probably still something he felt like he was doing his whole life.
(Also hallucinating both Mel and Viktor in the same place is very bisexual behavior Jayce. and adds to the parallels between Mel and Viktor, they're both mages that go through physical transformation this season, and whole bunch of other scene parallels)
In ep 9, during their little gay transcendence scene he basically tells Viktor he's perfect, that he admired everything about him and that his leg and his illness were never flaws etc. Last season also ended with Silco telling Jinx she's perfect.
Which I think its neat we got that happening at the end of both seasons, in a show where identity is so important, (and toward two of the main physically and mentally disabled characters specifically). Personally I loved Jayce including Viktors leg as being a part of him and therefore something he loved as well, that he never needed to feel ashamed about
Again in ep 9 at the end, when Vi is holding Jinx and Warwick over the ledge. This kinda parallels s1 act 1. (With the obvious first scene of teen and tween Vi and powder on the roof in piltover, where Powder falls but Vi is there to pull her back up)
Vi wanting to save Vander, Jinx trying to save Vi when that goes wrong. Now Jinx is hanging there with the literal weight of her dead family weighing her down, as Vi holds onto her trying to pull her up, despite the baggage being to heavy but being unable to let go. Vander so well representing the guilt and trauma she carries with her.
In the end she knows she'll pull Vi down with her too, so she forces her to let go. By stealing the hex crystal, which is what started this whole mess, but is such a jinx moment of quick thinking.
God I bawled at the end there I kept thinking they've gotta have another scene that shows maybe she didn't die, or Ekko came to save her again, but no.
I'd go into more detail cause there's just SO much about this season but I've gotta go and I'm sure someone else will cover everything. The show was just phenomenal.

arcane season 2 oversimplified pros and cons
PROS:
-Caitlyn villain arc (so sue me).
-EMO VI (ik she was depressed guys but she was hot and i love her and also she deserves to crash out after all the shit she's been through, so--)
-Jinx/Isha/Sevika being the cutest little found family the entire damn show.
-At first I thought that the vi-jinx fight was too early in the season, but it ended up really working out and yk what it ATE. My sister and I have had the same fight over the tv remote.
-Sevika's gambling arm is sooo jinx I love it.
-THE SOUNDTRACK HELLO???
-Warwick/Vander recognizing his daughters!!!!
-HAIR DOWN JINX! HAIR DOWN JINX! HAIR DOWN JINX!
-Jinx and Caitlyn not hating each other (completely) anymore/letting go of their hatred of each other and freeing Vi to not feel so torn between them anymore--
-Which is why vi and cait only hook up after that? Because vi can finally feel okay committing to a relationship with someone else without feeling like she's abandoning her sister.
-ALL of episode seven omg my babies could've been so happy (except vi but in my head she's fine in both universes).
-Viktor's monologue in episode 6 abt humanity.
-More Mel screentime
-Ambessa talking about Kino omg my heart
-Ekko talking Jinx out of yk what MY HEART
-JINX AND EKKO SAVING THE DAY
-MEL AND CAIT TEAM UP
-Vi calling Caitlyn Cait and Caitlyn calling Vi Violet
-JAYCE LOVING VIKTOR'S IMPERFECTIONS I'M--
CONS:
-Mel's powers are lk giving MCU
-Needed more episodes (like 2-3) to flesh out the plotlines
-Feels less grounded than s1; like, I know s1 also had magic and stuff, but idk it felt more "real."
-Feels like they kind of diverted from the themes? I guess viktor's cult counts as "themes of progress," but it wasn't as touched on i feel like?
-The entire handling of the undercity's oppression in act 3. It's weird af idc. None of these people should be fine working with topside; it's not a both-sides-dealt-equal-harm-to-the-other situation, one side's oppressed and the other's the oppressors?
-I feel like we still? Didn't touch on? Vi's trauma? As much as we could have?

Nother arcane post lol ⚠️
I saw someone recently post abt how they weren't a fan of arcane introducing
Arcane s2 spoilers beloooowwww
Isha into the story because it felt like a cop-out for Jinx's character arc to introduce this random wide-eyed child just so she can probably die or get seriously injured to spur Jinx on to attack Piltover and I was inclined to agree at first, BUUUUUTTTTT
If you look at what happens during the first bit of episode 2 and watch Jinx walk through all the fighting between the chem-barons, there is a part where it's seen that Chross has his goons rounding up children
In season 1, after Vi and Jayce raid the shimmer factory, Jayce looks at Renni's son after he has killed him with hextech, then looks up at the balcony FULL of child factory workers in total horror
So, if trends are to be believed, Chross was likely having his people round up children to work in his own factories during the weeks after Silco's, then Renni's, deaths and Isha was one of many targets
We see her running, biting, and leaping to get away from these huge men pursuing her and she literally falls into Jinx's life
Jinx reacts defensively, her eyes glowing pink before she realizes the person that just slammed her to the ground is a child that isn't a threat to her, and calms
She watches Isha react fearfully to her and then to the men that follow her and makes the decision to reveal herself and kill the goons to defend not only herself, but Isha, too.
We know that Jinx doesn't just kill kids for fun and she observes the Chross goons snatching children all around her. Obviously, Jinx isn't going to step in and threaten her own safety for these kids because she has watched this all happen many times through her life, but when one is right in front of her, cowering away TOWARD HER away from three huge dudes that want to kidnap her? Well, might as well shoot the fuckers then take off
Personally, I now think after rewatching this damn show a BUNCH that it is an interesting and compelling parallel between Jinx and Vander for Jinx to suddenly have this random kid following her around because she essentially rescues her from being forced to work for a chem-baron as child labor and didn't really threaten her herself
Very similar thematically to Vander taking Vi and Powder in as his own children after their rebellion fails. If Vander hadn't been there, it's likely that Vi and Powder would have suffered the same type of fate as Isha or the other children being forced to work in the shimmer factory
It's funny too because of the old adage "noone is ever ready to be a parent" applies to Vander, Silco, AND Jinx now lmao
I'm also not entirely convinced that Isha is going to die, mostly because she also has Sevika watching over her by the end of act 1, as well. A lot of ppl theorized it was Vi carrying Isha away from the fight with Warwick that's coming in act 2, but if you look at the hairstyle, it's clearly act 2 Sevika.

Arcane S2 spoilers
So funny how I'm cycling between depression and happiness w act 3 because on one hand I'm replaying the saddest deaths like Isha, Vander forgetting and Jinx (I believe Isha and Jinx are alive but Vander forgetting HITS LIKE A ROCK) and on the other I'm replaying caitvi scene 😭
I can't put into words how good arcane makes you feel emotions, IT'S ART.
I liked the ending, with my headcanons ofc but that's the thing, they imply shit and leave it open.
In my head, jinx and Isha survived since no bodies were shown (though Isha has more chance not to but I choose happiness) and like Jinx survived FOR SURE because it's so implied !!!
I didn't get it at first but after letting the ending marinate in my mind and hearing others opinions it's clear, she lives.
Also the caitvi sex scene is so cute 😭 I'm not one to enjoy sex scenes but this scene gets a pass because it was very well portrayed 🦅🦅🦅
Oh and Vi looking sad at the ending could be bc of the loss of Vander/Warwick + Ekko burning a paper could be for Heimerdinger. Jinx lives !!
ALSO NOT ENOUGH IS SAID ABT HOW COOL MY BOY EKKO IS. HIS SCENES ARE ALWAYS SO COOL !!! The fighting w Viktor's army and using the time machine to get second chances and when almost losing risking by going over the limit and breaking Viktor's mask so he can truly see what Jayce wants him to see, UGHHH !!!!
Those who didn't like the ending that's okay but c'mon now, the death threats aren't necessary 😭😭😭

arcane predictions!!! but mostly kaz's unintelligible rambles
no like now that we're done with act 1 i kinda wanted to get in on the fun of like guessing esp because i KNEW the enforcer act would backfire immediately spoilers duhhhhh
isha or maddie is gonna die bc like. the tropes are right there.
someone said that ambessa is gonna be the final boss villain and idk if thats league lore im missing out on, someone pls enlighten me
loving ambessa btw the reveal that she was behind the 'attack' during the memorial fucking GENIUS
bc it was kind of a breaking point of the dark caitlyn arc!!
vi pitfighting arc next which im sad about bc like wdym i gotta watch my girl going THRU it
i mean this is a stretch but heimerdinger,,, bro defo has a bigger part to play right
yk like all of this has got me thinking abt the ending bc it cant be something like and they band together and live happily ever after!!! its gotta have some major casualty
so im kinda expecting it ... either vi... or jinx...
i love the vi is caitlyns weakness trope - it happened in s1 and remember how ambessa exiled mel bc she weakened her think THAT and cait being ambessas target and cait cutting off vi... would love to see it more in play.
jinx doing smth sacrificial bc girl has zero self preservation skills
SPEAKING OF JINX
i love the shift in perspective bc s1 felt like we were watching it from jinx first person pov and rn it feels like jinx third person and also her saying 'its so quiet now'
her character arc seems to be taking the hero's path which is so cool!!!!!!!!!!
that guy... yk the enforcer guy who left when cait was declared leader... who tf is that guy
ALSO WHO IS WARWICK SORRY I DONT KNOW LEAGUE LORE SOMEONE EXPLAIN BC WHAT IM SEEING IS... WORRYING...
ekko badass moment
i have NO idea whats gonna happen w viktor but jayvik nation i extend my condolences
yk idk how theyre gonna add more lore - if theyre gonna add more lore bc act 1 lays down the foundation, sets the scene, everything else builds up from here na. just fascinated on where its going frfr.
okay yeah i know this is not very predictions but wtv wtv i just wanted to say ik people say the pacing felt off but it felt perfect to me tbh - keeping in mind i finished my s1 rewatch last night - it felt like elements sorta clicking into piece, yk? the cogs of a machine taking their places.
thats all i can think of for now, lmk ur thoughts!!!!!111

Arcane angsty theory
What if Vander end up killed by both his daughters ?
First by accident by Powder
Then by Vi who won't recognise him in Warwick and think its just a monster on the scientist side.
Pls how angsty would it be? Now it's more a personal AU than a theory ig cause I don't think it ll happen
So if there s a fanfic like that, pls tell me
Especially that:
role inversion in arcane
Tumblr media
It's really interesting when character inverted roles and positions, something I love doing to my OCs (sorry Aki</3 )
We know by teasers that Vi ll join enforcers which means undercity ll probably see her as a traitor. In conclusion, she loose them.
Plus she ll never really fit in Piltover, especially if she refuses to obey (like refuses to fight Jinx or Ekko)
Which means she ll end up misfit and alone... exactly like Powder was.
Which reminds us of when teen Vi used to say "one day, this city s gonna respect us" in season 1 arc 1.
Now it hit even harder knowing Vi s potential as a teen. Its like this high achieving tkid trope that happens to us all neurodivergents irl
Like saw those on tiktok
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now the question is: how jinx end up as a symbol, a hero? And how she changed?
I saw a loooot of people expecting Jinx to get even more destructive in season 2 (that she s fully jinx now, that powder in her was totally gone)
But given how Zaunites depict Jinx, it looks like the total opposite:
First we got a litteral structure of her
Tumblr media
Then the mural from the teaser video that we still don't know who did it but clearly see she has followers dying their blue like her :
Tumblr media
It s not just abt followers. Jinx is allowing strangers to touch her when she clearly flinched at physical touchs in season 1 due to ptsd
So s2 ll be about Jinx healing
Tumblr media
Now there s also this depiction of Jinx where:
She is surrounded by white colombes in contrast to her association with black crows and ravens in season 1
She s in a historical pose
She s drawn next to Vander
Role inverse again: now Jinx is seen as Vander s heir instead of Vi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ofc in contrast to:

happy sts!
i've been listening to your a rental car takes a left down rake street and disappears playlists and i'm loving it! would you like to talk about wip it is for?
writblr: @vsnotresponding
hiii happy storyteller saturday!! thanks for the ask :D
yay I'm glad you're enjoying the tunes! the story is the first in a trilogy about a freshly-turned body horror mode vampire and an equally monstrous human bastard on their quest to kill the giant vampire hivemind known only as 'the Garble'!
the blurb for the first book is as follows:
Schizotypal loner Nat Finch leaves work one afternoon, and the next thing he knows, he's waking up on the side of the road covered in dirt with no memory of the past ten days. All attempts to return to regular life are quickly thwarted - whatever happened to him during his blackout has left him morphing into something strange and monstrous.
When his new condition reaches a bloody, ravenous breaking point, a human stranger steps in: Quinn Cooper, powerful and dazzling manipulator with a cruel streak, here to mitigate the damage and offer Nat safety under their wing... as long as Nat does exactly as he's asked and doesn't ask questions.
:3
other important characters include Alex Anders, rigidly moral vampire lawyer having ten existential crises at once, Yvonne Tozier, cheery video game fanatic full of barely-contained simmering fury (she works customer service, you get it), and Zeke Cunningham-Warwick-Lâm, romance novelist by day, vampire hunter by night, and full-time weird psychic, who desperately needs to stop burning herself out every other week and practice some self-care
I'm most excited abt my vampire worldbuilding! vampirism as a condition is sentient, it's one being spread throughout many different bodies..... the life force gathered by the many vampires flows to the centre of the hivemind to give it eternal life while the vampires themselves are left with mere scraps
the story itself is full of queerness and body horror and my barely contained rage abt existing as a disabled person under capitalism
n yeah! that's about all!

arcane S2 act 2 spoilers
okay but let’s talk about the parallel of vi beginning to trust her sister again in ep. 5, and then her choosing to trust caitlyn in ep. 6, and how it revolves around vander.
at the beginning of ep. 5, the trust & relationship between vi and jinx isn’t completely gone, but it is shaky, and it needs to be rebuilt, re-earned.
in S2, jinx is the one who tries to mend their damaged relationship first, which is an incredibly satisfying parallel/foil to S1, which was when vi was the one repeatedly attempting to reach out to jinx.
and it’s somewhat successful, successful enough for vi to agree to follow jinx into the tunnels, albeit she obviously doesn’t trust her— you can see it in the way she refuses to walk first/ahead of jinx, the constant skepticism and irritation on her face, all of it. she isn’t trying to make any conversation or really bond in that moment in the slightest.
and jinx not only accepts this, she seems very understanding, in fact. like she completely understands that vi doesn’t trust her, and she’s willing to not only be okay with that for now, but she’s also going to continue to try to build that trust and that relationship again.
not only is she doing this for vander, but she’s doing it for herself and for vi just as much— her family. the one she feels responsible for breaking in the first place (and even more so, vi also feels guilty for everything in the first place as well).
and you can see as their trust begins to subtlety grow, to the point where vi is facing off against the monstrous beast that jinx is saying is her father, and jinx gives her one more desperate cry of “vi, you HAVE to believe me.”
and she does. she puts the gauntlets down, and she decides to believe in her sister, to put that faith in her. the genuine faith and acknowledgement that jinx has been trying to prove in the first place.
and look where it leads… it leads to them getting their beloved dad back, their family back, and each other back— and ofc it’s very different, and with a new addition, but that love is still the very same. that embrace meant everything to and for them.
and then in ep. 6, vi meets caitlyn again, and while they aren’t how they used to be before the events of ep. 3, there is obv still that lingering sense of attraction, of care for one another. even more so, they both seem aware of it.
you can tell, based on the way vi refers to caitlyn as “cupcake” again, and how caitlyn puts her arm out in front of vi in order to prevent her from walking out & being seen by ambessa and the noxus army (which is a protective gesture that vi also did towards caitlyn in S1, might i add 👀).
and when caitlyn chooses to be honest w vi abt why she’s here— hunting down warwick— vi hesitates for a moment before choosing to put her faith in caitlyn, telling her the truth in response as well.
because, as i said before, vi managed to put so much trust in jinx throughout events of ep. 5, and look what that got her: her sister back, her family back, changed but still beautiful, still loving. she finally has what she has yearned for so, so badly for YEARS once again in the palm of her hand.
and i think that she’s thinking maybe, just maybe, she can put some of that trust in caitlyn again. i think this also ties back to when vi compared caitlyn to jinx. if that comparison still exists in her mind, and jinx is actively changing for the better and now apart of her life again… then maybe caitlyn can and will, too.
and she did. :)

tw: the scene where maddie and caitlyn are in bed together
something else that pisses me off abt this scene (other than it being the most uncomfortable animated scene i've ever had the privilege to watch which i've alr made a post abt, like it actually makes my skin crawl) is what maddie tells caitlyn when she expresses concern with the noxians' demands for fortification. she's clearly overworked, stressed, frustrated, juggling guilt and pleasing different factions.
you could call it off. withdraw from the underground, reestablish the council. all you have to do is give the order.
on a practical level, there's no way it's that simple. caitlyn hasn't even officially gotten a seat at the council after her mother's death and even though it's implied she has leverage there because of her name, there's no way she can reestablish the council by herself. not with only two other counselors present (one of which ambessa's puppet), and she can't withdraw so suddenly after the richest families of piltover and the enforcers gave her their trust and so many resources. not to mention all the noxian resources (which ambessa wouldn't be happy about wasting) that have been put into extracting jinx.
on an emotional level, caitlyn hasn't let go of her revenge yet. she will not back down, won't pull the enforcers out without jinx - because then it would've all been for nothing. all the months of destruction and violence. classical sunk cost fallacy. so maddie interrupts her and says,
okay, ambessa.
and just. chuckles and starts kissing caitlyn's neck. as if that's all there is to it and ambessa is just some insignificant inconvenience caitlyn is blowing out of proportion, not mel's literal mother who gave her piltover to rule over, a warmonger, and a constant military presence and sociopolitical influence. caitlyn isn't stupid, she knows this. she also has some sort of respect and gratitude towards ambessa for lending her military and interpersonal support, for essentially teaching her how to lead a war. she expresses this as a further reason why she wouldn't be able to and doesn't want to turn on ambessa and just brush off their partnership. and maddie tells her,
you're our leader. the enforcers, piltover - they follow you. i follow you.
but that's irregardless of what caitlyn is telling her. caitlyn can't realistically do any of that, even if we assume her concern was that enforcers wouldn't listen to her orders, which it is not - because she very clearly and eloquently expresses what it is.
and when i first watched this, i thought to myself maddie is not hearing her at all. caitlyn is talking to a void, to herself. maddie seems to not understand the gravity of the situation and its specific context. and remember: caitlyn grew up as a politician's daughter, always expected to become the kiramman matriarch one day and inherit her mother's council seat, so to her this is all obvious, but to maddie it's much simpler and less complicated, all you have to do is give the order, but caitlyn knows there are consequences for everything and boy, how heavy is the crown. maddie is trying to provide some kind of comfort but it's falling completely flat because she fundamentally doesn't understand caitlyn as a person.
caitlyn doesn't need consolation like she later answers maddie's you can't blame yourself, she needs a plan. she doesn't need support or encouragement, she needs a solution to her problems that will help more than it will harm - one that doesn't exist. (not until vi tells her warwick, ambessa's new weapon in the making, is her father, and then caitlyn knows what she needs to do to set things right)
and while it's possible maddie was quite simply just naive and a random rookie enforcer, the fact that she turns on caitlyn so easily for ambessa and almost publicly executes her despite saying all that to caitlyn has made me think she was always a double agent. i did appreciate your warmth to me implied she got something out of it, like she wasn't genuine and was using caitlyn, and like she was aware caitlyn didn't love her but that wasn't maddie's goal or purpose. she was there to spy on caitlyn, perhaps distract her and complicate her thoughts but only to pull her further away from vi and anything zaun, not to make her incapable of doing her job (aka whatever ambessa needed her to do). perhaps maddie was there to stroke her ego, embolden her to act more rashly and emotionally rather than logically when it was to ambessa's benefit, and when she saw caitlyn's concern and hesitation abt continuing the invasion, she encouraged caitlyn to give it up - perhaps because she knew ambessa could just get rid of her and replace her with someone else if she didn't have what it took to finish the job.
tw: the scene where caitlyn and maddie are in bed together
a friend is rewatching arcane s2 rn and pointed out that even though it's very dark and kind of hard to tell, the room caitlyn and maddie are in in that scene doesn't look like caitlyn's room!!
now this might be a false alarm but if it isn't, here's what that implies:
caitlyn didn't let maddie into her actual bed (we all cheered!). now i very seriously doubt they're in maddie's house for reasons of wealth and convenience, which means there are like three possible ways things could've gone down w/ caitlyn and maddie sleeping together.
1) most likely caitlyn (and maddie, individually) took a guest bedroom somewhere in the council building, which means she's been so busy with the zaun invasion in pursuit of jinx, she literally hasn't been home and sleeping in her own bed (which is just sad because it implies overworking herself and disconnecting with her home and family, even the memory of the mother she's trying to avenge)
2) if this is just another room in caitlyn's house (which would be crazy, just imagine caitlyn's dad meeting maddie), has caitlyn been sleeping in her own bed when she's by herself and only going to this guest bedroom when maddie is with her?? that must've been so inconvenient and awkward to establish between them lol
3) if this is just another room in caitlyn's house and she hasn't been using it only when she's with maddie, that would imply she had the opportunity to sleep in her own bed (even without maddie) and she chose not to. could it be that after her fight with vi, caitlyn hasn't been sleeping in her own room in general because of the memories they shared there together?
i think 1) is the most likely, followed by 3) and then 2).
and lastly, let's remember that after the explosion that injures vi, caitlyn is sick with worry for her. jinx just surrenders and caitlyn can't even decide what to do with her - she's too worried abt vi recovering and likely wants it to be her decision too, having seen their family bond and truly understood now.
caitlyn most likely takes vi to a hospital/doctor and then takes her to her house, so she can ensure her safety. caitlyn who's been so busy she hasn't been sleeping in her own bed, is calling the enforcers out of zaun, and is preparing for war lets an injured vi sleep in her bed immediately, even before they've talked things out between them (which means a lot, esp if she never let maddie into her bed, or if she had right until now).
moreover, in the scene where vi wakes up and we see loris has been taking care of her too, we also see a bunch of throw pillows on the other side of the bed next to vi. they're obviously not for him. caitlyn has been sitting (not sleeping) there, taking care of vi even with everything else going on. waiting for her to wake up so she can make the call for what happens to jinx. true fucking love or whatever.
symbolically, caitlyn either returns to her house, to herself and her family (after seeing the love in vi's), to what matters, in order to take care of vi and because she's not commander anymore, at least not in the original intended way once jinx is captured and she calls off the zaun invasion, or she's still in a council bedroom because there's yet much work to do but has been finding time to come home and take care of vi despite that.
i also want to point out another thing. when vi wakes up and comes to confront caitlyn abt imprisoning jinx (which, honestly, is better than letting a random enforcer kill her or have her cause more damage which is what could've happened if she'd let her go, which caitlyn eludes to), maddie is already there in the room with caitlyn but we only see one chair. maddie isn't meant to be there in caitlyn's house. she isn't meant to sit down and make herself comfortable. (and yes, we see two chairs when ambessa comes to talk to caitlyn but it's also intentional what gets shown when). when caitlyn tells her, "check on my father?" and dismisses her before she has the chance to interact with vi, she means this is all her relationship w/ maddie is to her. and in the very end of the show when we see vi humming her mother's song to herself, she's in the same room. there are two chairs there now.
i'm so fucked but this is all speculation.

Reverse unpopular opinion ask meme: hmmmmmm Perkin Warbeck? 😂
Reverse Unpopular Opinion meme: send topics and instead of salt or hot takes, I MUST talk abt something I like about it.
Okay, so I lowkey want to kill you <3 and the vaccine is acting up and I’m feeling as though someone hit me with a car and shattered my bones into smithereens, so here goes my answer: I love how much of a freaking mess Warbeck was?? If you ever feel bad or frustrated because your life is a mess, or believe you made poor life choices think about Perkin Warbeck. No wonder people mocked him and there were even some ballads going around after his attempted landing on the Kent coast in 1495: 'sundry roundellis & songis to his shame & derision.' First, he proclaimed himself to be one of Richard III's bastards, realising it didn't exactly help his claim he took to calling himself Edward of Warwick, then again realising that claim could be easily disproven, he finally started to proclaim himself Edward IV's second son, Richard of Shrewsbury.
That attempted landing on Kent that I mentioned? Warbeck fled the scene because the populace threw him back — common people, not even an army, slaughtered around three hundred of his men. He fled the scene and tried to step foot in Ireland and he had to flee and lost men again (p.s.: the Irish called him 'the French lad', perhaps aptly as it is quite possible he was a ploy invented to threaten Henry VII at the time he was at war with France). Warbeck finally found refuge with James IV in Scotland who gave him an army and a wife, and sent him south to engage in battle with the English, and Warbeck fled the scene yet again. Apparently, James was so furious to see him back at his court that he is reported to have shouted that he couldn't believe Warbeck was King of England. When Warbeck finally managed to land somewhere in England — Cornwall, who was already up in arms against Henry VII — he lost his nerve yet again, deserted his army and fled.
Do you ever think you're in your flop area? Once Warbeck left Burgundy he never left his ❤️x

what do you think about the atom cats?? they are one of my favorite little factions in four and I wish the game had used them more
i didnt answer this right away but i've been thinking abt them and why i love them and it's so many reasons!!
just like first of all, they are fun. just silly and fun inclusion in the game.
i love that they are like doing their own thing, a cohesive group, but they arent insular, they interact with the outside world, talk to u and help u even if u arent in their group. they help the warwicks for example. and the warwicks are ofc one of my fav settlements bc of the institute seed quest.....
this is a total side ramble but i hate kellog, i hate how the main quest throws in an alcoholic abusive dad to a serial killer. not the rep i really want as a child of an abusive dad who was also an alcoholic. :/ and the warwick family is the Not Realistic but Feels Good, it feels good to me. it warms my heart to see a family heal from trauma of abuse and alcohol abuse, experiencing having a good husband and father.
and im sure the atom cats were all very happy for them too. :>
i also love that they have poetry night, yess, support that artistic self expression <3
