tiefling twednesday!!!!!

my friend is running the wild beyond the witchlight starting end of january and i'm SO EXCITED!!!!! i've wanted to play witchlight since it came out and i kept getting closer to just giving up and running it myself just so someone would get to play it but now!! i get to play!!

i'd been toying with a few ideas for various classes since the dm said she wanted to run it but the moment it became real i tossed them all out the window and went back to my warlock roots

meet Foxglove! i don't have all their details ironed out yet, but their vague backstory is that they were abandoned as a baby in the forest by their birth parents who didn't want a tiefling. they were found and brought into the feywild by a clan of pixies who raised them. they're fun loving and carefree and mischevious, as befits someone raised by pixies. their warlock patron is Zybilna the fairy godmother.

some fun facts are that they are 6.5 feet tall (with the antlers), they're a vegetarian (really more of a frugivore), they collect little things (lost objects, shiny rocks, etc), and they looked very different as a baby but being in the feywild for so long influenced their appearance as they grew up

Life is going pretty well!! I’ve gotten into D&D in the last year-ish and it’s taken up most of my creative free time (playing and DMing, which is HARD by the way oh my god), but I’m graduating college this semester (also oh my god) and it’s actually not going as bad as I thought it would lmao! Still not writing as much as I’d like but that is life i suppose - how are you???

having shri’iia thoughts as one does bc GUESS who’s save file completely died when the new patch came out nooo we have to replay her again 🤭 alas. just stewing on the thought of how she never got to fuck her Mistress even though she wanted to…!!!! like she was out there getting psychologically tortured and mind broken but she was just like WHY won’t you fuck me im literally doing everything for you. which is so bad for her, woman who already has an excruciatingly low self worth because she missed the mark on the standard for lolth’s children (and that’s worse than not fitting in the standard at all) by something out of her own control btw (not being born in a noble house) but she’s been recognised and blessed by her goddess, and she’s been invited to join a drow house so everything should be good right?? she should be desirable right?? finally everything is correct and well and good and the way it should be right????? but no..!! it’s not..!! and so she’s doing everything for this woman, no dignity left, literally doing anything to get her approval, to be told that she’s finally enough, and she’s finally fitting in - and she gets it sometimes, she gets ignored most times tbh and it’s just this painful excruciating stew of self loathing and insecurity that she’s in, and she’s in there for a century but the thing is she can’t even give up. it’s not in her nature to. and she’s done too much to just give up , and she’s been doing this for a long time that she can’t give up and lolth didn’t raise no quitters so she sticks by it, trying to achieve that hopeless praise. but then one day she gets dropped like nothing, everything she’s done and suffered and worked towards and sacrificed gets thrown out bc her goddess isn’t pleased with her and good luck going home btw you’re not welcome here anymore bc ur pathetic. the rug gets pulled under her feet and she’s left in this strange world that she can barely navigate in let alone speak the language and u expect her to b fine with that…?

Delicate Everstille, tiefling silver-dragonblood sorcerer, trying her best! (Delicate is my current Tav, and I am unhealthily obsessed with her but it’s fine.)

Pre-game: Delicate’s father didn’t realize he was getting a tiefling, and took out his displeasure on his daughter by using her in magical experiments. She was kept healthy and well-fed, but alone and isolated. And was frequently brought to Aladorun’s lab for tests of her magic and his new magical devices. He named her Delicate because she was so easy to break and he had to keep putting her back together.

BG3: Aladorun was in the process of selling his daughter to Raphael, via Helsik, when the nautoloid swept over the city and a tentacle nabbed Delicate. Free of her father for the first time in her life, naive about the world she had been so isolated from, and distrustful of pretty much everyone she met who wasn’t another tiefling, Delicate found the tadpole to be the least of her problems.

Post-game: Newfound confidence and one world-saving under her belt, Delicate goes in search of her dragon grandfather and a better mastery of her magic, eventually returning to Baldur’s Gate to run a shop selling enchanted, handmade lace. And go out on adventures sometimes, when she feels like it!
