Gambler!Himiko / Yumeko!Himiko

I wanted to do a "more complicated sprite edit" just to try my hand at it. I still don't offer it, but gonna practice more and maybe I'll have enough confidence to go complex. This was intended to be a Gambler!Himiko but I saw this Reddit post by WaifuFree and thought "why don't I do that" because I enjoy silly posts and being inspired by them lMAO.

I ramble more under the cut.

I learned I don't know how to do shading whatsoever and I also cannot draw, but I will use references like a lifeline to figure out how to draw. I ain't quitting though. I also cannot let go of the checker board aesthetic.

For realsies though next post is prob gonna be a moodboard for gambler!Himiko to build up this acc.

Most of these are inspired by the Act 5 sprites! Because the Change God loves how nasty our little guy (gn) can get!

Again circles and circles! Don't forget it, it's important! It's even in their eye!

They should never have an angry face! It should be more annoyed than angry! The closest they get are in moments that are a bit too repetitive! They are The Change God after all!

Grey lineart helps it look ethereal and otherworldly!

My set of prompt kids for my monthly prompt over in Homestuck Spriter's Hangout! I tried to incorporate both themes into em, more of the card suits theme. This shouldn't be the last you see of them... I have some plans!

The idea was to do four kids off some post-game Earth C-ish planet- each of these kids was creating using ectobiology. In order: Hearts (they/them) kid is a human-troll, Spades (she/her) is a regular cerulean troll, Clubs (it/its) is a troll-human, and Diamonds (he/him) is a regular kid!

Now to name them... What would you name these fellas?
