Okay, we're connecting LMK characters to Mitski songs again because we're listening to Mitski right now! This time(literally only the 2nd ever) it's Fireworks by Mitski, with Macaque.

We really love analysis and stuff and would like this to be read, so if anyone wants the plain text in a reblog/can't read the font well in the image even with zooming in, tell us and we'll get that done!

This is not in complete defense of Macaque: he is a complex character with many positives and negatives, nor is it a bashing of Wukong who is mentioned, as he is in the same situation. This is not to make Macaque seem like an 'uwu soft boy', it is simply an in depth analysis of a song we enjoy from our favorite artist and how we think that it connects to a character we enjoy thinking about from our favorite show. Just thought that needed to be said somewhere.

so i am an avid anti of mary obliviates herself after the war like no way would she want to forget her friends despite the pain it causes her to remember and i think fireworks by mitski is SO post war mary like i’m not even joking

self explanatory - like think of all the parties and pranks that would have involved fireworks - also they were all just like fireworks in her life (i will not be elaborating)

happy fourth of july does anyone else think about how messed up it was that R*wling chose for Fred to die in front of Percy of all people. Who just broke free from the Ministry and who has returned to mend his relationship with his family and help tight for peace. Who finally gets to see the people he loves again, who he would jump into the Great Lake for, who he’d completely destroyed his relationship with because he valued their opinions so much, only for his little brother to die mid-sentence. And that sentence was about how Fred remembers an old, happy version of him and how that version might be poking through, as if he’s relieved, like he’s been waiting for his big brother to finally crack a joke, and just as his comes to the surface he’s gone. Percy got that glimpse of a close relationship with Fred, who had always opposed him the most, who he got along with the least, and then shockingly lost it all right after. Him throwing himself over Fred’s body, trying to protect him until the very last moment. Not budging when Ron tried to DRAG him off. And how will that affect the rest of his life? Will he forever blame himself? Will he never crack a joke again? I’m SICKKKKK

was looking at random character playlists on spotify and i think "fireworks" by mitski IS a kurapika song but not in the same way "fireworks" by mitski is an [any other character] song. it's because becoming the singer in "fireworks" by mitski is kurapika's WORST FEAR "fireworks" by mitski is the future that keeps him up at night. it's about wearing the grey contacts forever, and losing the rage that makes it okay for him to be the last kurta, and marrying someone who will allow him to give up, and having his pain be reduced to memory, and one day finding the knife of resolve that he placed in his own heart and pulling it out without a thought. well thats my funny little post for the day
