How to Select the Perfect Cycle for Kids
Choosing the right cycle for kids can be an exciting but overwhelming experience, especially because there are so many options. A well-chosen bike will ensure safety, comfort, and endless fun for your child. This guide will help you consider the most important factors when buying the perfect children's bike or bike for kids.
1. Adapt the bike to the age and size of your child
The size of the child's bike plays an important role in comfort and safety. Here is a simple size guide:
For toddlers: balance bikes are a good place to start as they encourage coordination and confidence.
Bikes for 5- to 7-year-olds: Opt for kids' bikes with 12- to 16-inch wheels.
Bikes for 7- to 9-year-olds: Look for children's bikes with 20- to 24-inch wheels.
Always make sure that your child can comfortably put both feet on the ground when seated.
2. Prioritize safety features
When choosing a kid's bike, safety should always come first. The most important features you should look out for are
Brakes: coaster brakes work well for younger children, while older children may prefer hand brakes for better control.
Reflectors and lights: Important for visibility, especially if your child is riding in low light conditions.
Chain guards: Protect your child’s clothing and legs from the chain.
3. Choose the right type of bike
The type of children's bike you choose depends on your child’s riding needs:
Balance bikes: Ideal for beginners who are learning to keep their balance.
Single-speed bikes: Simple, low-maintenance options for everyday use.
Mountain bikes: Perfect for adventurous kids who enjoy off-road riding.
4. Focus on comfort and adjustability
A comfortable bike for kids will make them want to ride it often! Look out for these features:
Adjustable seats and handlebars: so the bike can grow with your child.
Lightweight frames: They are easier for children to handle and control.
Padded seats and soft grips: Make riding more comfortable, especially on longer rides.
5. Never skip the helmet!
The bike equipment is just as important as the bike itself. A well-fitting helmet is a must for every ride. Add knee and elbow pads for extra protection if your child is a beginner.
6. Let your child try it out
If possible, you should let your child take a test ride on the children's bike. This not only ensures that the bike fits properly but also builds anticipation for the new adventure.
7. Durability is important
Children can be rough with their belongings, so choose a children's bike that is durable. Look for sturdy materials, reliable construction, and warranties.
8. Plan for growth
Kids grow fast! A bike with adjustable features can save you money in the long run and ensure that your child’s bike will fit well for years to come.

Inaccessible tech is such a vicious cycle it’s beyond frustrating. My computer knowledge is dreadful for someone my age, and I know it’s dreadful but it’s incredibly hard for me to do anything about it.
Dragon, the software I use to control my computer with my voice costs £679.99. I have access to it through a scheme to help disabled people in work – without a job I’d have to pay for it myself or find another source of funding (without access to a laptop/ PC).
The software is great in many ways, but limiting in others. It’s mainly targeted at able bodied professionals as a way of dictating quickly, so while it’s absolutely brilliant for dictating into a word document, it’s a bit more tricky to control your computer with it.
One of the biggest problems though is that I can’t easily try out different software and browsers. Google docs aren’t as compatible with my software as word is. I can’t learn about alternatives because it’s a lot of time invested in something that probably won’t work well.
Each different browser requires me to download a different extension so that Dragon can interact properly with the pages. Until that’s all set up, rather than just being able to click on things I have to guide the curser through a series of increasingly small numbered grids to the right point on the screen like this: “mouse grid [pause] 3 [pause] nine [Pause] one [pause] two [pause] Mouse left click”).
But Firefox, the browser I’m most often recommended to use, I can’t use. From what I can tell there used to be an extension but Firefox now considers the Dragon extension to be a security risk and won’t allow it to be installed. I’ve looked into finding alternative ways to download the extension, but it gets really complicated really quickly – especially when each and every mouse click takes so long. After failing several times I gave up.
And it’s frustrating because if using a computer wasn’t so difficult l me, I would probably be better at finding my way around these kinds of obstacles better.
And if technology wasn’t so expensive and difficult to access more disabled people would be creating better software and hardware for disabled people.
Similarly if adaptive controllers were less expensive I might know more than I do about gaming. And more game producers might be disabled, or might create games with disabled people in mind.
But we’re stuck trying to make do with technology that’s either financially out of reach, incredibly limited or both and it means it’s incredibly hard to learn enough to come anywhere close to solving those issues (or being able to properly describe them in the first place)

⚠️POLITICS⚠️ - so, what the hell just happened
yep your favorite catboy political scientist is back. regarding that last political science post about all the reasons why i thought Kamala would win im not going to beat around the bush here, i was not just wrong, but i was mega wrong. a lot of us were. so? what happened?
the long and short of it is that we are currently in the Death of Liberalism as an ideology. i have data to back this up, but i think we can all sort of feel it in the vibes too, right? the Trump campaign won because they were Populists, and the Kamala campaign lost because they couldn't get rid of the weight around their neck that was their association with the Liberalism status quo in the eyes of the voters.
look across the board, states that went strong red also had massive turnout for very progressive policies. Florida had a 57% support for a state constitutional amendment to make Abortion a civil right (of course, it still lost, because in Florida in order to win with civil rights issues like this you actually need 60% of the vote, because the same people who made the Florida election system also went to Florida schools). and keep in mind, this was when left leaning voters were largely staying home, its the republican voters who are supporting these kinds of things, because they're populist.
if you want even more proof, look at the demographics that trump gained massive support bases in this election cycle. largely, they are exactly the same ones that were energized by the Bernie campaign.
the biggest takeaway from this, and the only one i can really remember after for 2 hours trying to get this post finished through 2 factory resets of firefox to get it to actually do something, is that Populism Sells, and Institutionalism just doesn't anymore.
we're in a new world, politically, there really arent any historical parallels that i can point to to compare. if you want some advice for what to do now, then just make sure you're prepared in the case of an emergency, make sure you're keeping in touch with all of your friends, and build relationships in your community and neighbors. at this point, building up our local and interpersonal infrastructure is all we can do right now.

Hey hiii popping in first to say, ur patho playlists (esp the temy one like AUGHGHGHJHFSJKFD) have been a godsend for finding out new music, found some rlly amazing songs through them hehe And jumping off from that, how do you go around finding new music? Do you have any playlist recs or smth like that? Esp for more electronic type of vibe, ty in advance mwah
hiiii omg Thank You i am still quite proud of my little playlists I ♥ MUSIC and i have a few different ways...
first of all i have been pleasantly surprised by the spotify algorithm over the years. i have it (🏴☠️🤫) on my phone ( + have found that on firefox wit adblocker it's also usable on desktop without too much hassle) and have sometimes found that the songs it recommends me to add to playlists are actually pretty good even if they don't make it into the playlist. helps that i have a pretty big Musical Appetite (but you're kinda outta luck re:electronica with me because that's not something i necessarily gravitate towards). i'll listen to a new song on loop because Good and then i'll be recommended stuff in the same vibe. it's a 1/7 chance i'll actually want to put it on my phone and #enjoy it for long but sometimes it's bullseye. some of my favorite current songs were random spotify recs (recently La Suite Meurtrière by Vox Vulgaris, Rozy by Dakh Daughters, Requin Blanc by Suprême & Miu by Marina Herlop.)
i'm also constantly looking for #music to put on in the bg while i draw/work so i pop on youtube, find myself a "[genre] [decades (optional)] playlist" and kinda let the waves take me. a lot of it is like solid 5/10 but sometimes there's a 7+/10 that pops up so i find it, add it to a playlist, more stuff like it gets recommended to me, repeat the cycle... Check out musics from other places. it can be looking up "[nationality] [genre] playlist" on youtube. just found this literally just doing it right now. or this channel i like it a lot. some i've loved from it are "Turkish Female Singers from '70s Vinyl Set", "70's Turkish Anatolian Rock Vinyl Set"
Also also, some stuff i put on playlists i don't have in like. my main "everyday listen" playlist. a lot of songs are deeply contextual and if i pulled them out of their playlists I'd Get Scared. i'm not listening to Triple Sun by Coil or ... Archright by Town Portal (both from my threefold bullet playlist) in the subway every morning I'd Get Scared. or so mad like i'm off red dye.
i'm not a big #electronic guy so i don't have great recommendations for you except Check Out Lauren Bousfield's "Mansions No One Wants To Buy For Any Price" Song Of The Summer

SMG4 AU Timeline Anomalies Part 2
(Part 1 Here) (11/28/24 Edited for Project Thunder) (12/4/24 Edited due to the pseudo-smg ben 10 universe becoming officially canon to the au)
Spamton G Spamton
A version of the fan-favorite Deltarune character who somehow became an actual Virus and went on a rampage that, among other things, lagged out the Hub. He was eventually apprehended and locked in Computer Hell, where he became "That Guy Who Can Get You Just About Anything, for a Price" that you see in all the prison break movies. He's currently a part of the unofficially named Prison Break Squad formed by Lady Rose and Andrew Orpheus.
Rahzar
Well, Disc finally got his wish and managed to cheat death. What was left of him after his final fight with Vitality in "Song of a Usurper" stumbled into the current hideout of Leto, who thought he was interesting and set Baxter Stockman on ensuring his miraculous survival actually stuck, as well as making him even more interesting.
As a result, he's now a massive zombie-like Werecoyote with the Flames of Firefox subverted and merged with his own necrotic, warped code, along with what little was left of Damien's model data, and has become the third of Leto's minions. He hasn't learned anything from this experience and still wants to get rid of Death, despite how he can feel his code rotting from the inside out. The new name is because he's technically a TMNT-style Mutant and also because he doesn't want his enemies to know he survived yet.
Swagmageddon
The one and only Swagmaster6969696969, godmodded and turned into a Code-Level Entity by the Gamer Girl. He was meant to be the Meme Alliance's ultimate weapon, one they would deploy only in times of greatest need.
But, well... It's Swag. No matter how powerful and immortal he is he's always going to be Swag.
Ben Tennyson
A while back someone managed to stumble upon the secret to the Meme Cycle while trying to make funny videos about Ben 10, resulting in Ben becoming his server's equivalent to an Avatar.
Rewind and Zenyn
Ben's equivalent to SMGs, though unlike SMGs and MRUs they weren't designed to be recolors of Ben, or even the same species. Rewind is a purple Galvanic Mechamorph who handles the Living Memes, while Zenyn is a Seedrian (from Sonic X) with a primarily yellow color scheme, and she handles the Dead Memes.
Omnitrix "Trixie"
The Omnitrix's semi-sentient AI, elevated into a fully self-aware Code-Level Entity due to the Meme Mod code that should've gone to the pods not being able to on account of them not existing and attaching to the Omnitrix instead. She technically serves as the Admin equivalent, but in this case that doesn't really give her any sort of authority. She's really just part of the team.

Hello! I hope I don't bother you again. I have two questions for you (I think there are more). I'm writing a zosan fanfic and I came up with the idea of putting "titles" in what happens in the "chapters" separated by the divider, like the titles of anime episodes (very One Piece with spoilers about what happens in the episode), I would like to know what do you think of this idea? I have images of what these titles would look like if you want them for better visualization. 2- Is there a skin work on ao3 that imitates these "titles", as if they were chapter titles of a book (but without having to have several chapters as I want to make a oneshot)?
hello! yes, I think that sounds like a neat idea. you should go for it!!
I don't watch one piece so I hope I'm visualizing it right. if I got it wrong, feel free to send me a picture.
anyway. are you trying to do something like this?
if this is what you're going for, you can try this code out! I also created a pastebin for this one, so you can just copy paste to your own workskin.
so here, we're creating the lined-title css class. you can just add it to your <p> tags in the html when you want to apply them. e.g.
<p class="lined-title">TITLE</p>
feel free to play around with border-style and the border-color (or any other attribute). you'll want border-style:solid if you just want one single line, for example.
you can also check AO3's FAQ on what colors and fonts you can use. fun fact: border-style:double is the same css they use to add those double lines in the FAQ!
note that this will span the entire width of the page. so if you have a short title, it'll look like this on desktop:
if you don't want it to span the whole page, we could try this instead (also included in the pastebin link):
which will result in this:
however, we can't manipulate the spacing between the text and the lines in this one. on the other hand, it has text-decoration-style:wavy which the first option doesn't have!
for custom scene dividers, you can also check out these guides:
How to Make Customized Page Dividers by La_Temperanza
Dividers & how to style them by skinofthesoul
Rainbow Paragraph Divider by benwvatt
bonus: inspect element
also, are you familiar with inspect element yet? if you are, great! you can just skip this. otherwise, if you're still getting the hang of working with workskins and aren't used to editing css, you can try this:
right click on the text you want to change on AO3, then click "inspect" or "inspect element" (not sure what it's called in browsers these days; on firefox, it's just "inspect"). this will bring up a bunch of developer tools and it kinda looks like this:
it might look different depending on the browser.
but here on the side, you can see the html on top and css at the bottom. as you can see in the screenshot, we are inspecting the title and we can see the different css rules for the title.
if you want to play around with the css, you can just change them from this panel and it will automatically reflect on the page. these changes are not permanent so it's a good way to test different styles without having to go through the cycle of updating the workskin and refreshing the fic page.
if this is your first time trying this out, it might look overwhelming, but it's very helpful if you get the hang of it. but of course, you don't need to learn how to do this to style your fics. :D

What's the elements you think that is best fitting for the other OG 7?
This can depend on where they wind up and what other Miraculous are they with. And will ultimately depend on what I do elementally. But in general doing a mixture of classical and Wu Xing...
Fox is one of the tricky ones as there's a couple of elements it can match with.
Wood can work off being vibrant, supportive, bold, and expressive, but also cunning, ambitious, and underhanded (like roots spreading out)
Fire also stands out as Fox does have ties to Fire in various myths (the eastern foxes and Finnish Firefox), and that can also play off charisma and brilliance, knowing how to work a crowd.
Metal also stands out as a Fox plays by their rules, can be ambitious, and confident. And there can be a disconnect between themselves and others, as they prioritize their goal, which can play into the Fox is often more selfish.
Bee I would vote Wood as bees are heavily tied to plants, as this element can be sociable and supportive, but also tenacious and ambitious, seeking to thrive.
Turtle would be Earth or Water. Both elements are tied to wisdom and knowledge, survival and adaptability. Both are also known to move at their own pace. Turtle matches Earth in being very grounded and steadfast, but matches with Water in being withdrawn and introspective. Typically, it's more tied to Water in various myths but it can be flexible between the two. There is the World Turtle which is tied to Earth itself.
And Peafowl has a similar struggle to Fox where it could match with various elements, essentially, points could be made for all.
Air is an easy match by default of being a bird. It can also play off Peafowls being sociable animals and visionaries as this is a very idealistic element. It can also play off this element is very colorful.
Wood has a lot of the same appeals to Air for Peafowl, only it's more grounded and stable in contrast. This can also work off Simurgh, a Persian mythical bird that is tied to peacocks (often having the head of a dog or wolf, though I have also seen portrayals of just a straight up peacock) and the Tree of Life. Wood can also work off the Peafowl being bolder and a little more aggressive than Air, but not to the intensity of Fire.
Fire works off Peafowl's vibrancy, boldness, charisma, and colors. It's attention grabbing, and can work off ties to the Phoenix. Fire though may be more intense/aggressive than Peafowl should be, but that can depend on each person's view of the Miraculous and how it should be. Fire can also work off leadership as peafowls are tied to leaders.
Earth works off Peafowls regarded as the earthly phoenix, being typically seen as a grounded bird, and often it's a steadfast and harmonious element. It can also be seen as a source of provision and protection.
Metal can work off the vanity and pride of Peafowl, their preference to do things their way. Metal can also connect to the themes of truth and clarity.
Water works best off their coloring (as water is often blue), and you have Peafowl tied to healing, rejuvenation, and spirituality. Water is often associated with healing and cycles, and has ties to the soul. Water is also introspective and seeks to learn, playing off the truth aspect.
