so we know the name rat grinders more vaguely comes from them just killing all the rats in the forest and "grinding" for hours in a more metagaming context, right? but i'm wondering if the rat grinders killed lucy frostblade if this could be like maybe a really cruel joke or even just foreshadowing that they saw HER as a rat in the party and as such killed her. i feel like there was probably a rift between her and the rest of the party (specifically reviving the rats back to life after the rest of her party killed them during their practices feels like her undermining the rest of the party, also the rat grinders trying to cover up her death feels incredibly disrespectful + they don't seem to be mourning her at all), so lucy started going against her party, trying to "rat" them out... so they killed her.

by extension they are just doing this to anyone trying to uncover what they're doing, like yolanda badgood on the night of the festival.

do you ever struggle coming up with names for cats? because whenever i try, i always end up with something like ravenclaw (can’t use that, fuck JKR), or redwing (can’t use that, it’s a city in MN), or blackbird (that’s literally just a bird), etc. how do you get past that?

I mean, I don't see why those have to be bad (except the JKR one ofc)! I love characters with real-word names. I made a man called Flashlight, free yourself. We even had someone else mosey into the inbox just to mention how much they like Canon Nightwing, because she has the same name as a superhero.

I like to think about what the name says about the cat, I like writing down random prefixes sometimes for my OCs and then playing with a personality, considering what I want to say about them. What they're like, what the leader thought would make a good name, etc.

Or, think of a good image and try to describe it in two words... a lightning storm could be Cracklesky, Brightflash, Rumblecloud.

Or just play with rhymes and onomatopoeia. Fireflysky, Crushclaw, Fallenflight, Rosenose.

Basically, have fun with it! I think 75% of the people who come in asking for name help like this just need to learn to loosen up and have fun with it. You came up with a bad name and don't like it after a while? Change it! They're not real they don't care.

Finding out Kipperlilly was the one who made up the name “high five heroes”, and that she really wanted to keep the name over something ironic has ruined me emotionally. She’s just a kid! They were the High Five Heroes! It’s such an earnestly juvenile name I’m losing my mind!!

analyzing the updated map we have of elmville (including the ads from the folding map for sale on dropout's store, that iirc aren't included on the map used/shown onscreen)- i've seen a couple of people already point out the copperkettle real estate ad which is obviously huge- it seemed pretty clear her family was upper class and well off but now this pretty much confirms it. and maybe it's just because it's not relevant to the main storyline i'll also mention that i couldn't find any sort of copperkettle real estate office marked on the map. probably not huge but just something i noticed.

but i also wanted to mention a couple other things i noticed. for one, the "ring of glazing" not only is a place i don't think we've seen mentioned by name yet that's marked on the map but also get's an ad on the map, making me think this will eventually come into play later on. may not be of huge relevance and this might just become a hangout place for the bad kids, but just something to keep in mind. also the ring of glazing happens to be located right next to the church of helio, we'll see if that means anything or not later as well.

and finally- the feywinders camp is marked on the map and is right next to shimmerstone lake, where we know lucy frostblade was last seen. i have a feeling pretty soon we'll end up here and maybe whoever is in the camp can help out with learning about lucy.

probably missed a few things but i didn't see nearly enough people talking about any of this stuff so i decided to say something!!

It was on the Sabaody Archipelago that the Straw-Hat crew first experienced a change in climate. Unfortunately, the sunshine overwhelmed their eyes and they didn’t notice the clouds forming until it was too late.

i hope everyone talking about cassandra and kristens dynamic in summer scaries remembers that both kristen and cassandra are traumatized and as it stands are not in a healthy relationship on BOTH sides. kristen is the only follower cassandra has right now- if kristen leaves cassandra thats it. she dies. cassandra is not at fault for reaching out and trying to get help, especially after her history of being forgotten. of course shes going to be pushing kristen when kristens not really interested! because they kind of got stuck together from the start in sophomore year, because how else would the bad kids defeat the nightmare king if not for kristen basically sacrificing herself to become the only follower of this god? but maybe in the moment it at least felt better when kristen seemed like she connected with what this god stood for. and we already know that kristen has a complicated and traumatic past with religion and having so much pressure put on her as a "chosen one"- look at how she felt being chosen by helio. and then of course on top of all of that kristen has been working basically nonstop presumably since spring break (?), with no breaks at all to stop and make any sort of meaningful connection with cassandra that could help this messy dynamic.

to be clear- i love both cassandra and kristen. i think theyre both great and im extremely excited to see what happens with them. but i keep seeing posts that are either focusing entirely on kristen's position or just cassandra's and im tired of it because no matter which side you look at this from things are fucking bad.

Do you prefer Traditional naming or lyrical naming when naming cats?

An example of lyrical naming that I can remember off the top of my head is two of my ocs, Timidheart and Finickystep! I know in cannon it's not as exaggerated as that, but I like it this way mostly because it helps me remember their personalities! :)

An example of traditional naming is something like Brackenfur or Thornclaw I think? I don't really know much about this one but the names tend to lean on using suffixes and Prefixes found in the first ark I think.

I personally prefer Lyrical naming, it's fun to me! :)

Both! I don't like pure lyrical names (Like... Humungouslaugh or Rollingstone idk) but I really love working within restrictions and coming up with names that "feel" right for a Clan cat.

By my own arbitrary standards lmao

I would actually use lyrical naming for WarriorClan for example, but would hate it for a fanclan. I really like considering culture, the leader who named them, what the name implies, AND how it sounds.

But I also was there when TRADITIONAL-traditional naming was a thing, back when that meant "being upset about Hawkfrost." But those people died mad and I was there to bury them.

So TL;DR I like a mix.

For example if I was naming your OCs, I would do something more like Shyheart and Flutterstep.

Shy just because I arbitrarily like it more than timid (I can see a kit trying to hide or not speaking, but not being timid as a full trait yet), and flutter because it invokes the image of a frantic cat fretting to and fro.

Other names I'm fond of as an example of how I like to name things;

Blusterbreeze

Grandheart (parent was very presumptuous of his kittens)

Highnose (the presumptuous parent himself)

Blackburn (Dishonor title, started a devastating fire)

Blightleaf

Silverskull (honor title, killed something massive)

Sapapple

Fireflysky (I only like multiple-part names like this when they rhyme)

Crunchclaw

Rumblerock

Whitebreath

If I have a name that is edgy or silly, like one of my old OCs Flowingblood, I actually tie it into their personality. She was allowed to pick her own name LMAO and people were like, "...are you sure?" And she was like "YEAS."

i know I'm supposed to like him more now this episode because he actually signed Gorgug's MCAT, but god this episode actually made me hate him. it made me so pissed how rude he was to gorgug before and then just 1 fucking time he got a little extra mad and all of a sudden he's super friendly and even like giving Gorgug extra info with the pass/fail thing?? like that's all it took?? this man hasn't seen Gorgug this mad ever before in the past 3 years?? Porter being somewhat supportive the second Gurgug shows rage actually makes me so angry. Like he could have been supportive this whole time and made him feel better about the good things that can come from rage but instead he spent years berating him and then wonders why Gorgug doesn't understand his teaching. Like if he had spoken to Gorgug about what rage can actually do and why it's useful/beneficial to go into a rage maybe he would have been able to better access and use his rage to Porter's satisfaction.

Going to the nearest leisure centre, I'm working to bulk up on my muscles.

Having friends online, I'm not as good at making friends IRL.

Whenever I can get around to it, I enjoy drawing.
